This pub is the perfect place for couples or an adult catch up or party. The live music playing was great and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The menu may not have a lot but the food is amazing. The fish and chips was especially good and the steak was juicy and tender. The menu even has kid friendly options which is great for families. The pub even had a pool table which added a whole lot of laughs and fun while waiting for food. But be warned when we started playing pool we attracted a bit of an audience which was great fun. This is a great place to go for dinner or drinks and the town with its rolling hills is pretty spectacular.

The Eltham is always excellent A great country pub with a menu that pleases everyone from vegans to carnivores The 2 of us ordered 3 share plates which was plenty. Had organised a table of 10 for outside in Beer Garden - but then it started bucketing with rain - so asked to move under cover - no problem - everyone loved the food and raved for days afterwards - I had my best steak in the Far North Coast - so would definitely recommend the Eltham - and will definitely be back in winter.

Lovely well presented country pub with a warm country feel. Located on the outskirts of the Eltham village the pub has a wide selection of interesting craft beer and great food. Try the steak. Music on the weekend by local singers adds a great final touch. Very young family oriented.

Strong contender for World’s Best Pub. Lovely vibe, truly the best spot for a beer in the afternoon, evening or even in the morning if I’m honest. Food was delicious (we got steak & chick schnitz). Cosy fire pit, free pool table, & good banter with the owner Luke. This place has a real “all welcome” energy & we might just relocate to Eltham to make this our new local.

A country pub with a difference, set in the valley of the Northern Rivers, this is a fantastic spot to have lunch, seating is outdoors with views over rolling grass valleys, in an iconic small country village only 25 mins from Byron Bay. A beautiful drive off the highway and well worth a visit! The food is great as well!

Really nice well preserved pub with a very country feel to it, friendly staff and a good, though not massive, selection of beers on tap. Also a decent food menu of mostly traditional pub food, with some originals in there. The locals raved about the food, but it was just good, not fantastic. Nice outside beer garden and the balcony up top seemed to be especially inviting, didn't find out wether you could go there or it was just for functions.

We found our way here for lunch on a Sunday. They were pretty busy but got a seat in the sun. Meals were reasonably priced and were served fairly fast. Had the Portobello Parma which a few people seem to be ordering (didn't realise it is a Portobello mushroom served as a Parma!) Was still a nice meal and enjoyed the experience. Cheers!

I have been there several times, with work mates. My advice is: stick to beef, avoid any novelty like "Moroccan chicken". They know how to make the traditional Aussie stuff, not the fancy, exotic food.

Nice ambience, average food. Chicken Parma does not come with a wing attached. The food came out within 3 minutes so as soon as I saw the other Parma I tried to cancel and change but it was too late. Lukewarm too. I would have preferred the food be actually hot and fresh at the least for the upper end prices. Would come back for the beer garden and a drink but not for the food.

Beers on tap are good. Some good crafts. Grifter etc from Marrickville. Servers or barmen however today, swearing, joking laughing not paying attention. Just pouring a beer having fun. I get it but this place with a bit of small town service could kill it. Relies on locals and travellers. Food is ok to yum. Nothing to rave about, not cheap but not over the top. Its just the bar service, just felt not welcomed at all and I mean not even a little.

What a great find. Tucked in the hinterland between Byron and Lismore is this great venue. We went for dinner and lunch. The meals were brilliant (the Marlin special was a hit!), good selection of drinks (including their own brew) and friendly staff - all in a relaxed and cleverly restored rural setting.

I’ve known the Eltham for sometime before the current owners Luke and Matt took over. And I think they’ve got it just right with a balance of keeping the essence and soul of the place, the local regulars onboard, whilst still making it a bit of a destination pub. To me, they’ve got the food bang on (just try the Moules or Porchetta or Brussel Sprouts or just have them all!) with good beers (which you can have in a pint) and quaffable wines. And the talented local musos turn a Sunday afternoon into a very pleasant experience. Getting a pub right is a lot of effort and takes time, but you can tell by the results they’ve got it just right.
