This has gotta be one of Sydney’s best kept secrets for a meal and a solid contender for best pub grub in Sydney. The lamb cutlets are probably the tastiest I’ve eaten EVER!! - (homemade croquettes, mint pea relish, chickpea mayo and crunchy sweet potato crisps.... sooooooo much yum!!) Hat quality cuisine for RSL prices! Home made dumplings, salmon bowl... also amazing!!
Great atmosphere for wine or beer, and friendly staff who are always up for a laugh and will make you feel like you’re on holidays in Venice!
Can’t rate highly enough. Perfection!!
R. M.
Fairly standard Sydney bar with decent happy hour between 5pm - 7pm daily ($5 Heineken and Super dry and house wine).. nothing really makes this place stand out from anywhere else in the CBD except that it's probably more easy going and cheaper vs Palmer and Co. Also there's heaps of seating inside and out so if you're in a large group it's worth checking out..

The most vibrant place in town! Apart from a chatty customer crowd and lovely staff they also have delicious food. Get the dumplings as a starter and the steak as main. Yummy.
I went there on a Friday for lunch which happened to be one of the greatest weekend kick off's I have had in a long time. I highly recommend this buzzing place ;)

Amazing food! We’ve tried almost all the items on the menu and everything has been delicious, generous and beautifully presented. Great value for money. Kudos to the chefs!

Great place to meet mates for a chilled and fun evening.
Service was excellent, especially Kirsten! Never had to wait long to be served and prices were really great.
The pizza was out of this world, I had the veggie one and would go back just for that, and so well priced!!!
J. H.
Nice enough sports bar, if that’s your thing. Nice Flynn burger, delicious chips.

Really awesome place food is great and the staff they are really welcoming and they treat customers as a guest of theirs house and more than than that best place for the office workers to grab drink after work and food at break!
J. B.
I can only really review the Flynn based on drinks and not the food they have on offer, and my review might age like chicken thighs from Coles in your fridge after a day but here I go: the Flynn was great, the staff all wore masks but they yelled through the masks so you could actually hear them. Some people wearing masks are too quiet, like Thumbelina I can't hear you ffs, speak louder. Anyway. Good bar.

being a "eastern suburbs" boy i was sceptical about a City hangout when friends suggested to go to the Flynn in Bent Str. What a great afternoon on Friday, the Food and the Service were great and a 1hr lunch turned into a5hr lunch . Very friendly staff starting from Marzia and Jessica looking after us and it felt as if we were part a the family. Great afternoon and sure will be back soon again. Thanks Guys

Organized a group booking at The Flynn and had a great night. Kirsten and her team were fantastic - super friendly, hospitable and attentive. I would not hesitate to recommend The Flynn to others.

A group of us had a show to attend at the Sydney Opera House and this place was within walking distance. Drinks and dinner at this place were fantastic. Service was brilliant and very well looked after. We were able to split the bill which was helpful and the food was delicious. Looked like a busy place on most days given its location.
T. M.
It’s a sports bar. Enough said. Reasonable prices but the wait for food can be slightly lengthy during busy periods.
Would recommend for the budget conscious.

A bar needs to pretty special to get a decent rating from me. The Flynn is not one of the better ones. Large, noisy and disorganised was my perception. Five workmates and I were shown to our table. It took mor than ten minutes before we were given menus. Our starters arrived with our mains after more than an hour of waiting. To be be fair though, most of the food was quite good. Meatball starter was really pleasant, Burrito Bowl wend down very easily. Finally, had to ask where to pay after our entire party was standing around the register for five minutes. They could be a lot better.

GREAT FOOD! Actually surprisingly good for a pub menu. Great chefs, cool spot, the service is mixed however. Mostly good however a few times I've gone they have send out incorrect orders to the table. Once the right meal comes out however it is always delicious!!

Open bar. Great Friday night dj session called Janus by Jimmy Bruz

Wow what great service, hobbled in with the set of crutches (sports injury), ordered first round and bar staff didn’t let me get up again, checked on me every now and then. Above and beyond!!!

The Flynn is a nice place for after work drinks and dinner and has improved noticeably compared to the last visit (about a year ago).
Our entree was garlic bread which was buttery and obviously garlicky - a great start.
Main consisted of lamb shoulder, chips and seasonal greens. The lamb was very tender and fell apart easily as we carved. The side of gravy added some nice depth of flavour to the dish.
I really enjoyed the chips - they were light yet had a nice crunch that I love to see in my chips.
Seasonal greens were as you'd expect from vegetables. A nice addition but nothing stand-out.
Our dessert was a salted caramel chocolate tart with biscuit crumb, caramel popcorn pieces and popcorn ice cream. Such a fantastic end it had great texture from the crumb and popcorn and was overall a well constructed tart.

Good atmosphere, great food (I got wild mushroom ravioli and my friend got duck pie - both really great). The prices are a tad higher than regular joints, but I think they're worth it for what you get. Its kind of tucked away in the city, but it isn't impossible to find!
J.
This place is half bar half restaurant during lunch. The food here is pretty good. They do steaks, the puff pastry duck pie and pastas are pretty good. They do weekday lunch specials too. Reasonably priced food and great service :)
I like the restaurant atmosphere, it's a nice decorated corner, cafe style. Not shabby and not tooo posh.
It's a popular drinking spot for all the companies around the area
Z. C.
The food's good and the atmosphere is relaxed. The only thing to note is that you might have a long wait if it gets busy. I once waited 45 minutes for a steak sandwich to dine in (after enquiring about it 4 times). Not ideal if you're on a 1 hour lunch break.
T. A.
Really great lunch specials - Monday is a $15 lunch box featuring choice of protein, side, salad and fruit. However, it took over 25 minutes for my order to come out, despite the place being relatively quiet.
R. B.
We came here, because we had a Groupon Coupon, but we have never been here before. Looks like a good place for afterwork drinks but on first sight it doesn't really look like the place you would go for dinner. We were quite surprised, the food was really good. Also cannot complain about the service. The only downside for us was that the place smelled of cigarette smoke, which especially upset the misses.
T. N.
It was previously called the Bligh Bar. The food is great and everyday there is a different lunch special for $10. The gourmet pizzas are delicious. I love the duck pizza. They have a TAB as well so you can put bets on for the horses, so around Melbourne Cup it gets really busy.

Great Friday arvo bar on the CBD..
A. J.
This venue has great promise as it is trying hard to be a place where from-the-tap beer-drinkers can come to (almost) pretend it's a pub. The trouble is that in the few times I've visited the food service has been poor. From the broken pizza oven to service taking close to an hour, it's not really what is expected from such venues in Sydney's CBD. You might have more luck though.
A. S.
We came here for my husband's birthday with a Groupon Voucher.
At first glance, the place seemed very noisy with a party on the venue & more fitted for after work drinks rather than a sit down dinner.
Fanny & her manager gave us VIP treatment by closing off the curtains in the reserved seating area behind the party floor.
The food was delicious- we ordered the cauliflower croquettes, salt & pepper squid and the halloumi for starters; the chicken breast, schnitzel, barramundi and the lamb cutlets for dinner and the panna cotta for dessert!
They even gave us free birthday tart with sparkles!
Well worth it with the Groupon voucher :)
R. C.
The restaurant needs another system for finding which table belongs to which order as the one they have now doesn't work. I sat and watched the system while waiting for my lunch admittedly it was very busy. Where the meals were put a person rang the bell and told the waiter who came what the dishes were and then they had to find which table they belong too. Watched a few meals going back and forwards. Food OK. Service a bit slow.
E. M. W.
Great fusion bar/restaurant that has been sleekly renovated. The menu hits the spot for a business lunch with the option for drinks at the bar before or after the meal. Recommended to get the banh mi and chicken liver parfait!
P. M.
Love this place which explains why I'm there most nights - the food is of such a high quality for a pub. Friendly staff and as of recently they have opened for breakfast - the truffle bruschetta or the bacon and eggs with homemade chutney and the most perfect poached eggs a must try - if only they had rooms I would never leave!!!
S. E. (.
Fantastic for work lunches. Email your pre-order through in the morning and you'll be done inside an hour. Check the Clipp app for up to 40% discount before you arrive.
A. W.
Happy hour pint (+) was left 2m down the packed bar for me to fetch by barmaid (-). Live sport on TV (+) but no volume (-). Buzzing on a Friday after work.
B. B.
First time here in years... Great city bar.. Very busy at Beer o'clock, so come early.
J. W.
outside seating, loads only room inside but not my cup of tea. If you like jacksons on George then you will like this place
N. T.
Great food and bar service! Noisy but you can find a quieter spot in its spacious premises.
J. W.
The food was very ordinary. The brushetta was terrible, the pizza had a lot of ordinary mozzarella not authentic buffalo mozzarella which is white as stated on the menu, hamburgers were very ordinary and chips were frozen. I would not go back.
L. M.
Great steak and burgers! Good staff.
J. T.
Nice staff, incredible pizzas and best sweet potato chips. Perfect place to come for a meal that is filling yet absolutely satisfying!
A. L.
