Good selection of beer. I had an excellent brisket burger and nice chips. The nachos also looked good and the steak was suitably rare. My complements to the chef. The only downside was that we had to eat inside as it was raining and the music is too loud to be able to chat comfortably.

Check out this pub on a Monday for Pub Feed. Been here many times usually to get their Chicken Schnitzel special on Monday. They doing it for $12.5 and its one of the best Schnitzel under $15 in all the Pub that I tried. The Chicken Schnitzel is decent size well seasoned, fries are hot and crispy with a nice creamy slaw and the mushroom sauce is never enough for me as I want to dip the whole Schnitzel into the sauce. They have other deal too like Mon to Wed $12.5 lunches, Tue $4 Racos, Wed $15 Parmi with a Pint of Young Henry for $5 and Thursady $12.5 Rump Steak. Good spot for neighbourhood Pub feed with cool vibes.

Great vibe at this old pub in Chippendale. A couple of friendly young guys have taken charge & we really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere & tasty food. They’ve tarted up the walls with colourful art & opened up the top deck outside for extra seats. Small courtyard leading onto back lane. Great music. Will be back!

What a nice pub. The staff (including the management) are super friendly and always helpful. Whether it be a beer recommendation, a wifi password or efficient service on a busy evening nothing seems to be a drama for them. Quite a contract to the self proclaimed locals pup around the corner, The Chippendale Hotel, which has all the atmosphere of a high school library. The good vibes at The Gladstone are mirrored by friendly and talkative punters....what I like about this pub is you can rock up by yourself and be deep in conversation with randoms within 10 minutes. The customers are an eclectic mix of students, local workers and residents. Throw in a considerable percentage of foreign languages/accents to complete the demographic. The food is good, nachos from behind the bar, $10 tacos and daily specials. It's just pub food but it's good pub food. I look forward to being in Chippendale so i can spend some time here :)

It is true what you read in other reviews - this place is run down and fits in the dive pub category. However, they are trying to make a comeback with the food offering. They are serving up a choice of about 20 dishes at $10 mid-week which are decent quality pub fare. Other than the questionable surroundings this pub is friendly and a great place to stop in for lunch!

Visited goodspace for the GARJ event a few weeks ago, and while the art space and bar downstairs are cool, the drinks can be pretty overpriced. But, hey, it's Australia, what do you expect? Their house gin was pretty dodgy, so if you're picky about it, order off the shelf rather than going for whatever the baseline is. The bathrooms aren't awfully clean, but the staff are always lovely here so you win some you lose some.

Small local pub with an outdoor area featuring some pretty cool murals and often plays good music. It's a bit danky (especially indoors) but this kind of adds to their charm and chilled character. I like the food, the burgers are nice and juicy and they even serve deep-fried Golden Gaytime ice cream :) The staff are friendly. They often host events on the weekend afternoons with live DJ set and special burgers. Great place to grab a drink if you're in the area.

Funky Pub visited from interstate, sat out the back on a Saturday afternoon and punched lines on a table on my own until my mate got back from a tinder date he bailed on me for. Food was great, I obviously ate first I’m not a complete savage, then smashed drinks all afternoon once he returned highly recommend a visit.

I'm so used to seeing over entitled hospitality staff and people in general, at this place one of the boys from behind the bar helped out an old man with his gambling card, I always pay very close attention to the way people interact with older immigrants that don't speak English fluently, and this place passed the test.

The staff were so kind to provide our group with the upstairs bar area for my function and helped bring my birthday together so wonderfully. I wish I had visited this pub whilst I was at University more often! The atmosphere was down to earth and service was fast even in the busy period , heading in at Sat arvo/night. Coming here with a group of friends, they also reserved us a space in advance. The standard CheeseBurger was my main reason for coming here and boy did they deliver. On a soft white bun, toasted inside. The cheese (possibly American yellow) melted just enough to ooze, the patty was finely ground with minimal pink in the middle. The mix of ketchup and mustard created a great taste ratio with the patty and cheese, reminiscent of a large BK Cheeseburger or Carl's. Easily in my top 5 Cheeseburgers in Sydney for it's simplistic taste - how a Cheeseburger should be. The Chips were some of the crunchiest I've experienced. Soft centred and a great portion size. I hope others get to enjoy the experience I had. Keep up the great Burgers! I will return.
