K. O.Drop by here for a Weekday Pub feed. They have the $9.9 feeds on Monday to Thursday for their Grain-fed Rump Steak and Classic Chicken Schnitzel with Chips and salad. Had the Chicken Schnitzel with Chips and Salad with mushroom sauce. Good portion, chicken schnitzel is well crumbled and seasoned and tasty. Good place for some pub feed and beer with friends over a chat if you around the area.
D. W.The Wynyard is a fine place to have a beer where the food is quick, convenient and delicious. They offer some cracking beer and the staff will sort you out.
An establishment which has been in Sydney for over a century which I still love today, I cannot speak of them higher, excellent service 👏🏽👏🏽

G.I had to travel to Sydney for one night to visit the US embassy and was looking for a cheap hotel within walking distance that I could book the day before arrival. Wynyard Hotel was by far the cheapest hotel in the area. I was expecting service and facilities compatible with the price I paid, however my expectations were greatly exceeded. I will clarify - this hotel is by no means a 5-star facility. However if you're looking for friendly service and a room that is impeccably cleaned all for a low rate, this is without a doubt the place to go. I also enjoyed the well-stocked communal kitchen.
My favourite part about my stay was the service from the staff. They weren't your standard ultra-professional (often coming off as cold) hotel staff, they were just really friendly and happy to help out. it made the stay feel more like I was at (an extremely clean) friend's house than a hotel. From what I saw a large majority of them doubled as bartenders at the bar downstairs.
The hotel is also only about a maximum of two minutes walk to the Wynyard station, making it really easy to get around.
My only contributions for improvement would be
1. The fan in my room's highest working setting was 'medium' (which was still quite low) so my room got quite hot during the night, which was solved by opening the window. I would prefer to have the fan on higher due to noise from nearby traffic overnight.
2. In regards to the shower on that's on the left side when entering the bathroom - the shower on the right is smaller, however it has space to put your belongings while you shower. The shower on the left is larger and doesn't have that space, resulting in my pajamas, phone, and room key getting slightly damp. I understand this would be an extremely difficult thing for the hotel to solve, and is easily solved by covering your belongings with one of the towels provided.

V.Pretty gross, BUT excellent for convenience before going on a cruise/ elsewhere NSW. Wouldn’t stay for more than a night. However, even if you don’t wanna stay here for the night, highly recommend getting the hot chips from the Pub for a snack (the sweet potato ones are good too). Literally the best chips we’ve ever had in our lives, and that’s coming from a chip connoisseur😂 AMAZING CHIPS!!!!

I was with a group of about 8 people, and initially we were about the only people there, but the place filled up at lunch time.

D. C.Best pub in Sydney. Friendly staff. $5.50 happy hour pints between 5-7pm. Music sometimes questionable. Very crowded on Friday evenings. Great beer selection (VB drinkers need not apply). Good food Monday to Friday. Sports can be shown on request but usually with the previously mentioned music overlaying any possible commentary attempts.

It was a little cold in our room since we were there in the 'winter' and there was no heating in the room. But after we've asked for an extra blanket everything was just fine :)
L. L.It's a pub and so you need to expect pub accommodation. We have stayed a few times now, both as a couple and a family of four and have always been treated with respect and found the staff to be extremely friendly, the facilities clean for their age and the rooms tidy and comfortable.
The Wynyard Hotel caters mostly to local business people and so I have never seen a rowdy crowd or experience any problems. It is central (which is why we like it) and relatively inexpensive (which is why we love it!) for its location. The meals are reasonable in price and quality and yes there is a shared bathroom but again - it's a pub.
T. G.A friend and I accidentally bumped into the Wynyard Hotel yesterday on our way to catch up with a friend that was actually in another pub. I am happy this happened. We stumbled into one of Sydney's hidden gems. Happy our pints for $5.50 from 5pm to 7pm, are you kidding?
Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was chilled.
You can see the kitchen from the bar, so you know the food you are getting has not been dropped on the floor.
B. (. B.Place was very busy on Friday night, however the service was excellent the drinks were ice cold & the atmosphere was chaotic. The reason it was so busy is most likely due to the fact it was happy hour. All in all good experience with friendly staff members attending to everyone's needs. Would definitely go again.
T. M.The hotel is not conveniently located for anything. Paint peeling off the walls and tiles missing off the walls of the shared bathroom. Might have been more expensive but there was no way on earth we were staying there. The staff are super cool and I'd recommend staying here. The rooftop veranda was great for a late night beer.
G. K.Sure, it's not the most ritzy, however they do the best with what they have. Staff is helpful and friendly and attentive to cleanliness. Only insignificant issue is that the Windows tend to leak the cold winter air at night, extra blankets will help with that. If you want somewhere inexpensive and quality this is your place! Common toiletries were supplied which I was very thankful for. Right next to the train station and the Opera House. Don't go in with unrealistic expectations and you'll enjoy your stay like I have so far!
J. A.Served its purpose perfectly. The Family room was a good size for four people, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The employees were friendly and helpful, and were able to point us in the right direction during our stay. The showers, toilets and kitchens were clean and we thoroughly enjoyed beers and breakfast (not together...) out on the rooftop. Only downside is that the breakfast bar needed to be restocked (ran out of juice and butter) and the ceiling fans are not fast enough, a room with 4 blokes after a night out can heat up pretty fast. All in all, for 25 bucks a head it was a great night and would commend this place to others!
P. S.One of the few 'old school' Australian pubs left in the city. Great for a quality lunch. A little crowded at peak times and, in my opinion, would be better off without the poker machine area.
A. S.Good bar, rooms are ok with shared bathrooms but has a character since it is a very old hotel. Right in the heart of the city, walkable distance to ferry which will take you to opera house. Taxi is a cheap option is you want to reach main spots quickly. Recommended for single or couples, not for families.
C. W.No air con, but otherwise great place to stay for cheap. Bathrooms were clean. Didn't stay for breakfast. A lot of noise from people on other floors above you. Not for the unfit as the rooms are up a few flights of steep stairs.

Pub downstairs is a magnet for interesting characters after 9pm and the boring office jobsworths have gone home. White rabbit on tap and bar staff are happy to engage with stories of their own. It's a small pub near Wynyard station, quite busy on Thursday and Friday at lunch time. There are some low tables inside near the pokie room but smoke comes out constantly, if you are not a fan of smoke, get a table near the entrance.
P. B.The place doesn't look like anything special but they have delicious and CHEAP beers! $5.5 for a pint of Hop Thief is a massive bargain. I love to go there for a few after a busy work day.

T. M.My Mum's words were, I will stay up all night before sleeping there. Friendly helpful staff. The room was little but clean. We rolled up on their doorstep before they were even open to see if they had rooms spare. All the makings of an adequate breakfast in the communal kitchen but you need to supply your own milk and butter.

A.Classic Aussie corner pub in a great Sydney CBD location. Economical pub grub - a decent steak or schnitzel for under $20 in the city can be hard to find. If you like cosy, unpretentious pubs, this one is good.
T. M.Centrally located in Sydney CBD walking distance to Wynyard station. There's milk in the fridge and help yourself to the container of cereal in the kitchen. I would not eat the stale 'continental breakfast' so I bought my own food. I was impressed with the standard of staff service and they were all very personable.

W. S.A recently-ish acquired pub by the Merivale Hospitality Group. (One of Australias largest Hospitality Company's)
Its central location to the CBD makes it a great quick venue where you can have a refreshment catch up for lunch break.
The burgers and steaks weren't avail on the day I went as there was a problem with the grill.
However the $12 Chicken Schnitzel (optioned M'Shroom gravy) with lettuce/tomato/capsicum salad and McCains standard style hot chips was deesent valyou for what it was, a basic quick deepfried (mostly) pub meal.
The bar was James Squires based craft style tap beers with Superdry too (growing on it) thought they'd have Carlton but neigh to be.
Service was friendly from the yung Aussie Bar-gals who were efficient and professional. Refreshing.
All in all decent sitch, not massive a real pub-pub.

C.Tom provided fantastic service last night, looking around for a feed on a late Monday night and he was quick to have his staff whip up 3 beautiful meals when the kitchen was closing in 6 minutes. Highly recommend their parmi, got a decent sized chicken with fantastic chips, looking forward to them beating my 7.5 score for my next visit
