Nice ambiance with indoor and verandah seatings. Sourdough was really crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Good bread. 2 racks of ribs were marinated in bbq sauce and the meat just falls off the bone. Tastes so good. T Bone was cooked medium rare and so tender, it melts in your mouth. Went really well with the blue cheese sauce. Mushroom sauce was also really delicious, wish I had more. Housemade fries were crispy enough. And greens paired well with all the meats. Toasted almonds were crunchy. Pricey for the size served but they all tasted good.

With windy and cold weather one expect heater to be put out but the team was ignorant. Indoor dining was said to be full for our party of 12 but til we finish eating , the place was still half empty. Maybe due to covid restriction?

Had lunch. One other table in the whole place. Service was okay. Not great. The Châteaubriand, pictured, was $100 and was basic, three slices of eye fillet, cooked as we requested, with a tiny dish of blue cheese butter and some horrible I over cooked (in old oil, I would think) chips. The steak was nice enough.
We tried to order natural oysters, tu they had run out. I got the Kilpatrick and sent them back. He said they came frozen and boy were they bad. The Kilpatrick was bbq sauce spooned over semi defrosted oysters.
My friend had the Gravad Lax and it was also underwhelming. He didn’t finish it.

The food at this restaurant was superb. I had a tomohawk steak medium rare & was cooked to perfection. Had a nice char grilled flavour through it. The lobster tail was cooked perfectly & full of flavour. The vegetables were lovely and cooked well. Had 4 cocktails and each one was great. If you’re looking to chomp on a great steak, then this is definitely the place to go. Staff were very friendly.

The ‘tomahawk steak’, otherwise known as the ‘cowboy steak’ was incredible. A beef ribeye cut that has extra rib bone.

I won’t be able to understand why some reviews claim about the service, because the staff were nice and friendly, nice cutlery and decor - it feels warm and comfortable, and the acoustic is neither too loud nor too quiet. Ordered eye and ribeye which were very nice and served on cast-iron skillets.

Excellent meals. For a true taste skip the burgers and try the aged beef and salad with plenty of pickled vegetables and hand cut chips. Or ribs are very good - but don't expect American style ribs - European with plenty of fat and chewy meat in slightly spicy sauces Good wine menu too.

Team dinner for a retiring colleague - first visit since eating there soon after it opened. Staff handled our two long tables well, with ordering expedited by us having the menu beforehand and ordering as we were seated. I ordered the 500g 300 day T-bone and it was the first time I ever tried this type of steak (extreme meat). I asked for medium-rare and it was cooked great but I maybe should have asked rare. The steak was nice as I had not had steak in a while, but IMO if someone had cooked a normal t-bone and given it to me I would not have noticed the difference. I guess my taste/texture expectation was a different in my mind as this piece costs $62. Maybe I will try this place again sometime and get something different as I think there was nothing outstanding in terms of flavour or digestive experience for me, I would rather have paid $30 and had a better expectation.
Other things to note were very friendly staff and the food came out in a timely manner (didn't wait overly long).

Being from Melbourne, it was definitely a different experience compared to this boutique steak restaurant. Yet to try Melbourne's own Beefstouw. But have tried others. Dry Aged.
Staff were awesome and attentive and open to explain the menu and different types of steak on offer. Was a warm welcome.
Once seated were offered water and a table decanter for refills. There is a wide yet ordinary wine selection from local Barossa Valley, and from across the world including France. Although adequate some more exquisite variety for the experience of wines, could be added to the menu.
We ordered rib eye on the bone dry aged with chips, it's standard operation. Chips were great, steak was quite tastefully tender and 500gm was a good feed with some bites better than some releasing the flavor I was used to from dry aged. $60 feed per serve.
The sides however were just what seemed salad varieties. Although great for some, some warm sides would compliment this experience much better. One suggestion is baby roast spuds finished cooked in the steak fat. Another is a tasty Mac Cheese. Or just a creamy bacon mashed potato. Maybe next time ???
Overall it was pleasant. But if the menu doesn't change, I won't be back. In saying this, If you've never tried dry aged steak this is a must. A quiet out of the hustle and bustle dining pleasure. Alfresco dining available too.

Everytime we travel to Adelaide we make it a point to have at least one meal here. The service is spot on, staff know what they are talking about and the Chef's haven't disappointed us ever. It's a friendly atmosphere and the steaks are cooked just how we like them. Food has never taken longer than 1/2 an hour for well done Eye fillet, Squash and Zuchini vegetables, mushroom sauce and great chips. Really good place for a nice steak. 100% grass fed meat and also a large selection of dishes. Service is awesome! Atmosphere is classy and elegant. The prices are also reasonable for the level of service you get. Definitely would come here again in the future. I took my gf here for her birthday, she was quite happy with my discovery, given she has very low expectations of me. She gave me a pat on the head as a reward for my efforts. Given that this is specifically a steak restaurant, I would expect medium rare to be achievable without too much trouble. The chips were nice and clearly hand-cut. The Brussel sprouts and cauliflower were mediocre with very little flavour. Over all, quite disappointing for a special anniversary dinner given the cost.

I had the beef short ribs which were on special. Delicious, great texture, and very filling. As other reviewers mentioned, portion sizes seem quite inconsistent. My 500g and my friend's were very different. I can't comment on the steaks themselves, the ones I saw at the next table looked cooked medium rare with a lovely crust. I got chips with my ribs and they were excellent.
Wine list was good, if a little unimaginative. Salad bar is a revelation, with all sorts of picked veg, nuts, great sauces, greens, blanched broccoli and fruit. Def worth the spend.
Overall, everything is more than just 'good' but I only gave 3 stars because for the price its what you would expect.

Still pretty good but not what it once was, If you have never been before it is worth the visit however I have found the quality of the meat variable. My wife ordered a cheaper cut of steak than I which was more tender and juicy than the aged cut which i ordered. The vegetables are outstanding how ever they no longer have the salad bar, service is still of a high standard. Great if someone else is paying or you have never been before but loses two stars for lack of value and a now tired decor.

The prices are also ridiculously high given the average quality of service, ordinary food quality and small serving size. My steaks were always served cold. Took my dad there and we were the last two people chatting away for ages after all the other guests had left. I've wanted to come to this establishment for quite some time & experience their wares, that opportunity recently arose when I celebrated my birthday with partner & friends. The evening had everything, from disappointments to triumphs, poor service oscillated between very good service, constant mistakes offset with immediate rectification. Our waiter had only been there 2 weeks so we were prepared to forgive his mistakes as he tried very hard. He served white wine at room temperature, we complained, he cited that the fridge had broken down, good thing I had the red, an excellent Coonawarra drop. Mm, I don't like excuses from a business that knows how to charge, such problems need to be FIXED. The initial bread was stale & hard, we ordered extra which was much better, but the waiter forgot the extra butter even though we asked. We ordered our meat dishes, the waiter forgot to ask everyone their sauce selection, again, we had to ASK. The food was very good quality, especially the rib eye, the dry aged rump was overrated & overstated, it was TOO dry, barely tender & bland. We were part of the first sitting till 8.30 pm, but were asked to vacate the table at 8.19 pm, this is a very poor advertisement for the restaurant. Fortunately there was a vacant table outside otherwise we would have refused to leave. More drinks, the champagne cool, not cold & devoid of bubbles which was immediately replaced. We all enjoyed the ambience, the other patrons were of good cheer & a beautiful balmy evening outside. The bill arrived & it wasn't cheap, BUT, strangely, we somehow enjoyed the evening & would come again IF they can serve cold drinks. I would recommend one tries this restaurant, a special occasion perhaps, it's worth a punt. Cheers.

I was quite hesitant on following through with my booking this evening after reading through all the comments. My brother and his fiance are over from Tasmania and asked to take them somewhere they could buy a quality steak. Hereford was listed in the top 10 from a random googled website so I stuck to my booking. We were not disappointed. The friendliest of greetings as we entered the front door, promplty seated and brought menus and wine list. 2 New York sirloins, 2 rump steaks and a pear/walnut salad arrived at our table not long after ordering. Everything was impeccable, the steaks were phenomenal, perfectly cooked. Moral of the story is to not always believe what 1 or 2 salty customers have to say about a buisness from the comfort of their home behind a keyboard. We will be back.
