Vibrant and cozy restaurant serving a variety of pizzas and desserts. Pizzas are oval, large sized with generous toppings perfect for sharing. The dough is soft and chewy and digests pretty fast. Felt full quickly but got hungry quickly too. The flavours were very subtle, and taste healthy. They weren't oily. Best flavour was the salami and olives, smoked salmon.. Mushroom made the pizza really wet. Too much moisture from the mushrooms. Flavour was not bad. Could add a little bit more salt to all the dishes. Croquettes were crunchy and decent sized. But could also use a bit more salt. Pizza fritta was not bad. Need to serve the pizzas with a pizza cutter, had trouble cutting up the pizzas with our knives. Cakes look good, hope to try those someday!

We went here today, before going to see Hans at the Thebby (brilliant show BTW). We enjoyed the food, staff were great, atmosphere cool, dessert yummy. Loved the table water too. My only wish was that we could have tried the gnocchi but alas, we were a day early. Will return for sure (on a gnocchi day)

I celebrated my baby shower here, and I cannot recommend Blue Velvet Artisan Pizza & Pastry enough 💙 The high tea was absolutely delicious with everything so authentic & handmade, the variety of teas available were beyond amazing and just the overall atmosphere made the entire experience so enjoyable. Thank you so much again to the accomodating and kind staff, we all had a wonderful time and will definitely be back ☺️

Hands down the best pizza in town and possibly in the country. I’m from Melbourne and I take pride in knowing best pizzerias in my location, let me tell you they are up there with best ones in Melbourne. Excellent and tasty tomato sauce, no not too sweet not too liquid, just right. The crust is bang on! Absolutely firm, and delicious. I can possibly eat the crust as fine bread on its own. Finally toppings are made from fresh and finest products. I think 6 cheese is the best cheese pizza I’ve ever tasted in my life! Well done and please keep up the good work!

Incredibly delicious pizza. The base is to die for and toppings are generous. Wait time very high - 40 minutes for entrees while they seemingly prioritised Uber/delivery orders. Service non existent and couldn't get their attention the entire time we waited. Great pizza but don't expect much by way of service.

A meal at Blue Velvet restaurant is a real treat! Friends recommended it to me twice so I had to taste and see it for myself - now it is in my top 10 Adelaide restaurants. Blue Velvet has real character and ambiance many modern and trendy restaurants are struggling to create. There were so many aspects of the restaurant I enjoyed! Top service - of course, fresh, delicious & quality food, beautiful decor and an inviting ambiance. The open kitchen can be seen toward the back as you walk in with many eye catching dessert displays near the front. Oh and they even have a full, separate dessert menu and a tea sommelier for tea lovers too! Dining at Blue Velvet was one of my favourite dining experiences hands down in 2020 and 2021! I can’t wait to go back and also bring visitors with me there too! Thank you Blue Velvet for a wonderful night!

Professional and quick service. 5 star food safety rating. The restaurant is small, but divided into little sections naturally through its cottage-like infrastructure. Cosy, homely feel with bookshelves, eclectic furniture and hanging lights. The food was delicious - we had pizzas, croquettes, and fried pizza dough. Too full for dessert, we took a tiramisu home, and it was delightful. We couldn't choose which dish was our favourite! Definitely be going back.

A really excellent spot. Beautifully presented, soothing decor. Started with an antipasto platter for two and was delighted to find no “fillers” - the platter was a selection of cheeses, meats and slices of the artisanal bread they bake onsite daily. There wasn’t a cup full of over-sharp pickled vegetables in sight. Delicious! Pizzas were wonderful, wood fire baked with a perfect crust. These guys also have a top quality range of desserts and an impressive range of teas (high tea here sounds very promising indeed!) We whiled away a few pleasant lunchtime hours in here - service was attentive and superbly polite and welcoming. Definitely one to try!

With a last minute Birthday Cake needed for home , I was absolutely knocked out by the perfect cake presented . It was the Winter Menu Largest size Tropicana Cheescake with Rasberry gelee. Beautiful traditional style 72 hour fermented pizza, the garlic bread is the best we have ever have, so simple, light and fluffy. Incredible smoked mozzarella, thinly sliced fresh flavoursome prosciutto and the dough is so perfect you can share 2 pizzas and still have room for their incredible desserts! All the desserts are fully hand made in house including the biscuits in the tiramisu. We have both been to different parts of Italy and thought it was on par. Couldn't speak more highly of this place, the atmosphere is gorgeous, cosy and unique with beautiful decor. So glad we found this place, waitress was so lovely, kind and positive, beautiful authentic Italian wait staff are the cherry on the cake! (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ We will definitely be back with friends!

Paulo and Ilenia just opened Blue Velvet last week and I'm so happy they did. There hospitality along with Margarita was a joy and the food was delicious. Had the pleasure of dinning at Blue Velvet several times now. The pizzas are the real deal. Light, authentic and full of flavour. The Ala Palla pizza (larger) is perfect for a couple. This time was for a birthday and Ilenia brought out our dessert with a candle in it (without asking) which was a very nice touch. This is a premium pizza and dessert experience. Highly recommend.

What an absolute hidden gem! My husband and I were visiting Adelaide from Perth and booking lunch here was the perfect end to our trip. Can highly recommend the 6 cheese pizza and the beetroot-based vegan pizza. Both were full of flavour (I was especially impressed with the vegan pizza) with beautifully stretched pizza bases, done to perfection in the woodfire oven. We always seek out pizza when we're travelling and have had a lot in the past, but this was definitely up there with the best. The desserts also didn't disappoint - we opted for the trio and our only disappointment was that we didn't have enough room in our stomachs for more 😅 Highly recommend and will definitely return when we're next in SA!

Had a girls only friends dinner here before Christmas. It was cosy, cute and a little bit glamorous with the beautiful blue walls. The staff we very welcoming and kind, especially since I was unintentionally half an hour early. They recommended well for our group in regard to how many salads and pizzas to get for sharing. The desserts look amazing but we were all too full of delicious savoury dinner. Pizza crispy and light with gourmet toppings. You get what you pay for as it is an elevated done dining experience with pizza and desserts. Wine list good. Would go again next time for high tea maybe. Thumbs up!

Great food and atmosphere. We had the NYE set menu. Entree: Cured meat and cheeses. Not enough bread to accompany the meat and cheeses unfortunately. Second Entree: Garlic bread and olives Main 1: Gnocchi was delicious, however the garlic bread that was served before the gnocchi should have been served instead together with the gnocchi to soak up the awesome sauce. Main 2: Unlimited pizzas! Delicious! Dessert: chocolate mouses, cheese cake and other creamy cake sorts. All very nice! Thank you for a great NYE celebration.

The best pizza base I’ve ever tasted. I had a vegan pizza and it was exquisite. My husband had a meat based pizza and said it was delicious. I would have given it 5 stars if the Mojito I’d ordered wasn’t a bright green, and tasted of lime drink rather than lime juice.

We had a lovely experience at Blue Velvet. Stuff was very friendly and Pizza was exquisite! Not too mention the desserts. We had the “Boscaiola and Parmigiana Pizza” which at the end we preferred the Boscaiola more, as we did like the yummy taste of the Italian sausages with the sweetness of the mushrooms. Parmigiana was good too, I wish the eggplants were bigger size as you barely taste them. As a dessert we had the “Tris di bontà” which are 3 mini desserts (Tiramisù, Giardino di fragole, Chouquettes) and there were so delicious one better then the other!! We definitely going back there soon to try other pizza and dessert😋.

Ordered a small 6 cheeses pizza ($22)w added pear ($4) 2 weeks ago. The pizza dough was really great. But the cheese was overcooked and pear which was sliced way too thick, didn't go well with the pizza at all. We ended up just putting pear on side and ate them separately. I think seared pear would go better than jusr raw pear. Also the middle of the pizza got really soggy. Side note, service was not attentive enough (especially the guy in beard). Should have been more welcoming. Besides, good range of food and desserts with nice decor.

Delicious pizza that is super light (the dough is excellent) with a few traditional toppings and some unexpected ones that taste amazing. Make sure you leave a bit of room in your stomach for one of their home made desserts: the classic tiramisu is a staple that won't disappoint. Great selection of vegan options too and a few tasty treats for entrees if you can make it (suppli is a must try alternative to the usual arancini). Loved it!!

If you’re a vegan like me, you will simply love the plant based options at Blue Velvet, 70 Henley Beach Road. I had the chickpea farinata (Roman Street food) and the Spagnola pizza with sauté leek, Swiss brown mushrooms and zucchini, also served with the asparagus option. I love the way Ilenia and Paolo believe in using only the best of local produce. Definitely will go back to try their other vegan options, including the pastry. Oh, I forgot to mention the soy short macchiato. Love it 👌🏻🥰🍃

We recommend fried pizza and parmesan pizza, but in the end it is almost impossible to find something that is not good! The ox eyes and the cakes are highly recommended! (Original) Blue Velvet ormai è una tappa obbligatoria di molti venerdì sera per me e il mio ragazzo, non solo per la qualità del cibo ma anche per l'ospitalità Italiana dello staff! Stra consigliata pizza fritta e pizza parmigiana, ma a fine dei conti è quasi impossibile trovare qualcosa che non sia buono! Consigliatissimi gli occhi di bue e le torte!
