The food and hot chocolates here are divine. The cafe itself inside has a good amount of seating but isn't huge. But they have seating out front and also out back in the enclosed "garden" area. They have a LOT of flavours of hot chocolate so if you're looking for something other than just plain choc flavour, I highly suggest the choc mint and butterscotch. The desserts are yummy, well priced and they don't drown them in too much chocolate so it's decadent without being sickly. Highly recommended.

Was very quiet on my visit so seating choices inside or out on the back decking area was available. Hot chocolate was a generous size and appropriately priced. Crepe was prepared and delivered quickly but for the money paid, the quality wasn't really there. Would return again to give another chance in the hope it was a once off.

First time visiting and impressed with the food & its presentation! I ordered a Rocky rode waffle and it was great! Plus the menu has variety of range to choose from waffles to crepes! However, the more lighting in the dinning area will be great as it was dull lights coming on the table!

Hot chocolate heaven. It's a great place to be with your friends especially during winter. A must recommend to anyone visitng or even for locals. Prices are absolutely fair. Wish they stayed open later than usual 😅👌

Selection on menu is fantastic, looks and tastes good. Selection on display are also good. A little on the pricey end but worth indulging. Hit chocolate is great, but coffees are good - not great. Matcha Lattes are way too sweet and diluted though. Offers good selection of teas in pots. Indoor seating area is lovely and cosy but limited seating, courtyard is a little run down and feels like it needs a good clean. Hit or miss with the staff and service, mainly miss- doesn’t hurt to smile considering you’re working in a hospitality/service industry. Outdoor restroom.

Wasn't a huge fan of the ice cream, tasted kinda watery, but rest was so good! Had waffles with Tim tams and super big coffee.

Fantastic chocolate themed cafe that has been a staple of the O’Connell Street ambience for at least the last ten years. Have been on multiple occasions both in winter and summer weather to try new items on the menu, and to get the peanut butter hot chocolate!

The only down size is the small amount of indoor tables. At least they offer warm blankets for guest sitting outside. Which I think is so nice. The drinks, desserts and brunch menu are all amazing. One of my favourite places to go.

Have come here several times on different occasions and food, drinks are great especially there hot chocolate. There is a whole page in there menu just dedicated to varies hot chocolate. My only critique to give is the decor of the place is very outdated and at back of the shop where there are more tables really needs a revamp. Especially the toilet, cleanness needs to be addressed there. Apart from there great place to satisfy your sweet tooth

This shop provides such a welcoming and lovely service everytime I have come in by myself or with friends. I find that they make the best milk chocolate mocha in Adelaide! Excellent Desserts always makes me and my wife happy with the quality and the taste. The desserts are freshly made and served beautifully. The only thing I find annoying is the guy in specs, i was served by a girl on the counter and he keeps on shouting from the kitchen to me about the same thing which the staff memeber serving me was telling. I found it really annoying and it's not only once it has happened with me twice. It would be better if the staff on the front desk serves the customer not from the kitchen. But overall the place is fantastic and the best desserts in Adelaide.🎉🎉🎉

I went to Chocolatree tonight with two friends after we had eaten dinner at another venue. I'd never heard of Chocolatree before and was craving a good dessert on my cheat day, I was not disappointed. What sets Chocolatree apart from other dessert specialty venues is the variety of dishes with different flavour combinations. As this made it hard to decide on what to order it definitely entices me to return and try other dishes. I eventually decided to have the "AB Stack" which was brownie and waffle pieces with chocolate sauce, strawberries and chocolate ice cream in a sugar cone basket, absolutely amazing! The gentleman that took our order was friendly, polite and efficient, he clearly knew his business and the young girl who looked after us was also friendly and polite, and such a sweetheart. We will definitely be back on my next cheat day.

Have been here dozens of times over a few years, the food has never changed in quality and most importantly in price! Most amazing desserts and the chocolate they use to die for, and with both outside and inside seating options it's great for small functions/get together. If you're looking at going to St Louis across the street I would definitely advise you to go here instead, as its the same price but a world of difference.

Lovely little chocolate cafe down a wonderful street brimming with great food options! My mint hot chocolate was divine!!! I would give my experience 5 stars, but the texture of the torte I had with my drink wasn't what I am used to. Hey, maybe I do not understand what a 'true' torte should be like, but this texture was ok, but not what I would call great. Flavour wise though, it was really good! It gets really busy, and a touch loud at times, but it is still a lovely experience. The later it is, the busier it gets. Best advised to get in before 7:30pm if you want a decent seat. Highly recommend Chocolatree for a big hit of chocolate deliciousness!

The service was adequate. However I had cookies and cream belgian waffles. The waffles were what I came for but they were quite average. It didn't seem fresh, I'm not sure if they cook them from scratch but they certainly didn't seem like it. My other half had strawberry chocolate crepes. The crepes were chewy and in her opinion tasteless. The outside area is too dark and needs a heater as it was cold. I would love to see this place improve as it has potential.

This was a late night, after dinner spur-of-the-moment suggestion to a small group of friends after dining quite late nearby. I actually loved the fact that the menu hasn't altered much in the 5-6 years since my last visit. Great atmosphere, great variety of drink and dessert options (hot and cold) Hot drinks however are a little weaker than they used to be. I had a lemon tart from the cabinet that was a little dry and bland, but on the whole a lovely place to visit. We came in late. About 10 mins after our orders were brought to the table, a staff member very kindly informed us that they were closing in 5 minutes. We ended up staying abour 15-20 mins longer than this. The staff never pushed us to leave, and were lovely as we walked out. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for an after dinner treat in the area.

Last time I went there was 3 years ago. I'm a big Hot Chocolate fan, I remember my hot Chocolate being the best I've ever had, I forgot the name of the flavoured HotChoc I had. My dad had the COCONUT favoured hot choc which he loved. Great range of Hot Chocolate flavours! I'm visiting this restaurant soon, hopefully it will be as good as I remember!

Food was yummy, though shakes weren't cold, part of menu was unavailable on night not sure if that's a regular thing, was asked to leave not long after eating as ppl waiting to come in and with the restrictions on they had to wait for some to leave, but after spending $150.00 on desserts thought it was a little rude.
