Such an amazing experience! It’s been a few years since I had been to Golden Boy with Covid and all so was excited with last night’s experience! We had the ‘eat me’ menu: was with a vegan friend so had the vegan version and it was outstanding! Lots of amazing subtle flavours, excellent service and a great vibe! Just loved it!

Can’t wait till the dessert comes out before giving review! Everything was perfect tonight! Went many places that do set menus but this is very good valued. See how many we’ve received for 2! My boyfriend eats so much in general but we couldn’t finish the last main. We had almost half of what’s on the menu. Very good vibes and really nice staff as well. Our waiter took really good care of us and tried to look after us all the time. Not typical Thai but more a fusion Asian restaurant with a bit of western. Food came out in a very good and reasonable pace, we had a little time to rest before another round of food was sent out. Definitely good to try!

The location and decor of the restaurant is very nice. Great vibes and very friendly and professional staff. For the night the food was Asian inspired (mostly Thai). Nice, warn hearty food but not balanced. The set menu is chosen based on peoples choices or allergies or preferences. Seasoning wise, some items were overpowering and touch too strong. The most important things on set menus is not only the quality of the individual dishes but also the balance if the items which was lacking in this case. Overall, nice fresh items and good experience.

Honestly the most amazing dining experience in Adelaide, not only due to the incredible food that’s catered perfectly to your dietary requirements, but the AMAZING customer service. We were seated at the bar and our server / barman Mac was nothing short of phenomenal. He was so attentive, funny and worked fast without seeming like he was in a rush. The most charismatic server and barman you’ll come across. Will definitely be making this a regular date night spot!

It was okay, the best parts, the curries and the desert. It's a great location, well frequented and the decor is modern. Three of our four forks still had food stuck on them when laid out, so that wasn't great, but the service was okay and the food nice. It's a place to be seen in, not somewhere you go for the food.

We had a great experience dining here on Monday night, from the exceptional service to the food, to the fit out of the venue it was absolutely wonderful! We had the Tuk Tuk (banquet) menu and got a personalised selection of Edamame, Kingfish Sashimi, Pancakes, Fishcakes, Crispy Chicken, Poached Chicken Salad, Pork Belly & Apple Salad, Beef Cheeks & Rice, finished by a Roti & Pandan Custard. I couldn’t fault almost all of the dishes, and we left feeling nice and full without being completely stuffed. The highlight was definitely the service, our lovely waitress helped us tailor the banquet menu & we were never left without a icy cold drink. Definitely worth a visit!

Came here about a week ago and had a great night but wouldn't say great enough to go the 5 stars. Went the 'feed me' style menu for $69. Enjoyed all dishes bar the fried eggplant salad which was too sweet for me. Also thought the protein options could have been a bit more exciting as we got two pork and two chicken dishes. Wow, what an incredible experience! My boyfriend and I sat in the downstairs dining area for dinner and it was beautiful. Very ambient and relaxing and the service was outstanding. As for the food, we had the ‘Tuk Tuk’ experience and couldn’t fault a single dish. Everything was full of flavour and served piping hot and fresh. The stand out meals for us would have to be the Beef Massaman curry and the Fried roti with Pandan custard, so delicious. Overall, very enjoyable night and will definitely be back!

Why has it taken me so long to try this joint? Make sure you book, well in advance, or you’ll end up outside like we did. Which was okay but the service wasn’t. Which was a shame and is why I’m only giving it 4 stars, because the food is very good indeed The indoor dining area are very pretty and we will definitely go back making sure we book ahead. Thai food is Adelaide’s strong suit and so to stand out from an already saturated market is hard. Golden Boy achieves that. Every dish was perfect and had just a tiny bit more wow factor that my next favourite Thai places. Sort the service out and you’ll have 5 stars.

A unique dish😊 The beef cheek is really really tender. I would like to visit here again just for this dish. We also ordered grilled prawns. Although the flavour is really nice, the meat of the prawn cannot come out very nicely and it was hard to eat😢 But the pad Thai is really nice. By far my favourite place to eat when in Adelaide! We ordered the 'tuk tuk' which basically meant that food kept coming until we said stop! Every course was better than the last.. We heard good things about the place and indeed, It was very busy and crowded. There were 3 of us and we were seated to a small square table. It was not very comfy due to the space constraint but we were glad we made a booking and we didnt have to wait lonh. They took our order by memory without jotting down any note. As a result, we got an extra dish served for free when it got served to our table by error - blessing in disguise. The food was nice though the ceviche was a lil salty. They also got our rice order wrong but it was quickly rectified when we highlighted it. At the end of the night when we got our bill, there were 2 errors. Wrong type of rice billed ( they billed the cheaper jasmine rice though we ate the ginger coconut rice ) and they charged us extra for additional portion of pork belly that we never requested. We highlighted the errors. They asked us how many pieces of pork belly did we get - we said 5. They said normal portion is 4 pieces, and hence $6 was for the additional piece. We relented and just paid for the incorrect bill since we did receive an extra appetizer for free and the staff were friendly. I hope they improve on getting the orders right in future as it is not a good experience to bill customer for things they never requested for.

Delicious tasty food, with lots of variety. The reason I'm giving a three is because of some billing errors that weren't appreciated. As we were a group of six, we had the 'Tuk Tuk' banquet which is $58/person. The main course were two curries and it came out with rice which wasn't enough so we ordered a second rice and we were charged for both rice servings, rather than just the extra we ordered - surely the first rice should have been included as part of banquet, especially when it's brought out without asking us if we wanted it and we weren't informed that there would be a cost. The waitress asked us how hot we wanted our meal and as we had mixed responses she said she'd put some chili on the side so those of us who like it hot could add extra chilli - no mention of cost but we were charged around $4. We ordered one sparkling water carafe but were charged for two at $6 each. Lastly I ordered a Bulleit Rye and was charged for a Rittenhouse Rye which is more expensive. Great food, but I won't be back.

FANTASTIC! Don't understand how this works but feels like formal, casual dining.... I'm still trying to work it out in my own head. The food was delicious. Cocktails were delicious and different. Fully booked out on weekends (gotta get in early!), couldn’t get a booking in the restaurant even on a week night, had to be seated at the bar area, which was also has private tables and a nice ambience. One of the waitress seemed very rushed and rough towards the end, but otherwise service was quite friendly. Food was really good. Had the Tuk Tuk and was served with chef’s selection for the night. 4 entrees(kingfish sashimi, pork belly, fried hard boiled egg, crispy fried chicken), 1 main(Green chicken curry with coconut rice to share) and 1 dessert. Highlights were the Kingfish sashimi, Pork belly with apple salad and the Puff pastry with Pandan custard. Great place to dine for an occasion. :)

Great food and phenomenal service. We did the tuk tuk (banquet menu) - so much food for only $58 per person. We really enjoyed the whitefish shashimi, soft shell crabs, and Massaman curry. Of course, for dessert we had to try all three! The roti won, but the banana fritters were a close second. The service was absolutely fantastic. The team really looked after us, ensuring we enjoyed the meal and left full. I would recommend making a booking online. It was pretty full on a Saturday night.

Was highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Food and service were both excellent. We didn't check the bill prior to paying and didn't realise until after that we had a bottle of wine accidentally charged to our table. Raised it with one of the staff and they couldn't have been more understanding/helpful. Refunded the amount immediately. Less in volume to other places! Update to owners reply: Hi your food was good for us and we all liked the food you served to us. Only comment i had was the portions was not correct for a group of 8 people and my comment was on the double shot measure which wasnt right either as i think we were give single shot and charged double !! This will not deter us not to come to you sicne your food was great in quality and thats what i compared to Thailand food in Thailand!!

We had been trying to get a weekend reservation at Golden Boy for weeks without success and eventually opted to dine mid-week to get a reservation. I can see why this place has been so popular and it was certainly worth the wait! We had their Tuk Tuk menu; both my husband & I are vegan and they catered for us without any issues. The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. We had so many dishes served and every single one was a joy to eat, some highlights for me were the mushroom pancakes, the larp and the pad thai (which was the best I've ever had!) I have eaten a lot of thai food, but none as good or as unique as what we had at Golden Boy. Incredible value for money, great atmosphere and space and wonderful service. We will trying to book in again very soon!

Food excellent. Outside heaters not working on the coldest night in years had to ask for blankets twice. If you are going to make Outside expected for groups over 6 you should give discount for uncomfortable seating and cold, maybe a btl wine or two could have been included.

One of the best restaurants in Adelaide- a must visit! We had the Feed Me menu which consisted of 6 courses - all tailored to dietary requirements and preferences. The highlights were the fried eggplant, kingfish sashimi and pandan roti for dessert. The cocktail selection is also amazing. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly which also made it a pleasurable experience. Finally, as we were celebrating a special occasion, the chef presented us with a cheeky dessert dish surprise. 100% would go back- an absolute gem of a restaurant!

Had an absolutely amazing experience at Golden Boy tonight! Had the Tuk-Tuk menu and the staff were extremely helpful and were able to cater to the vegetarian and pescatarian needs of my boyfriend and I. All the starters were appropriately sized, which left just enough room for mains and dessert - which were all brilliant btw! One of the female waitresses in particular (with the orangey/light brown hair) was sooo friendly! We will definitely be coming back for that kind of amazing service again. This place is great! Customer service above and beyond... And that is unusual. A bunch of us dropped in last Saturday afternoon after a wedding ceremony and before the reception. Enjoyed good wine and some fancy cocktails. And then we asked for food.... The food was even more impressive... Returend to this place after several years because we had had such a good experience the first time we came and thought it would be an excellent location for a celebratory dinner. Food and atmosphere was divine! Unfortunately though, our server was quite rude and we were very taken back. She started off friendly and then instantly switched. Rolled her eyes when we asked if we could have some more table water. Knocked my friends bag off of her chair when she was walking past and then kindof flicked our dishes onto the table, not acknowledging my friend who by this time had gotten out of her chair to pick up her bag off of the floor. When she came to give us our check, she literally dropped the plate with the receipt onto our table! I was so surprised the plate didn't break. She did not say a thing or make any eye contact with us, and just walked off. We were quite shocked. After we paid she didn't say anythingggg... just walked away without acknowledging whether the payment had gone through and we really didn't know what her issue was. Its was wild haha! Other staff were lovely though. Just this one lass must have been having a auper bad night and let it out on us, which sadly tainted our good views of this place.

Wish I could give it a higher rating! Came here last night with my partner for our anniversary and the atmosphere was impeccable. We came exactly three years ago and were happy to see that despite not much having changed, the restaurant was still bustling and lively. We loved the food and the workers were in perfect synchronisation. As a cambodian, our cuisine is very similar to Thai, which the tuk tuk menu is based on, and I can proudly say that the meals prepared tasted like the chefs knew exactly what they were doing. Can’t wait to visit again!!

Heard much about this place and so went for the TUK TUK experience as it is only available due COVID with two seatings. Seated inside to the left where there was a high table with bar stools. Ambiance had good lighting but was on the noisy side with lots of foot traffic and cold drafts coming through as it was cold outside. Food was served on plates which were shared and reminded of a degustation and so the portions were small but due to the number of dishes served half left a little hungry while the other half full. Food presentation was appealing while the taste leaned towards the sweeter side and a few dishes had the same ingredients which was eggplant that evening. Wait staff friendly and the food runners took time to explain the ingredients of the dishes. As it was noisy, we could not really hear it all too well. The pricing is fair while the alcohol is what took the final bill north of 500 for 4 people. If you decide to go, reservations are required as it fills up quickly, ask to sit at a regular table in a quiet zone if possible unless you would like to sit outside.

I can’t believe how amazing the people at this Bar were. We turned up between a wedding and the reception and although they were not officially open and the restaurant was preparing for a wedding as well the guy offered to see what he could do for us. He arranged for us to be downstairs in a private space and provided us with wine. When we asked if it was possible to get any food at all as we had a very hungry Vegatarian marathon runner with us they arranged a vegetarian Korean noodles for her. The next thing we knew we had six plates of the most delicious food we have ever eaten.They went above and beyond and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The two of us started with Lettuce Cups. Enough spice to get thing started, good balance of flavours, really delicious. Mains were green chicken curry, and pork belly with snake beans served with the coconut and ginger rice and eggplant salad. The curry was right on the money with sweet and salt perfectly balanced and nothing out of place. They char-grill their chicken thighs before adding to the curry so you get a subtle charcoal flavour which works very well. Neither of us were huge fans of the pork belly. I found the flavour of the pork a little overwhelming to the point that I was imagining the smell of a truck full of pigs driving past at one point. It wasn't pleasant. There was actually nothing wrong with the pork belly and I'm sure the whole pig truck thing was all in my head. But even my much more gracious wife said she didn't love it. The eggplant salad was a great counterpoint to the rich mains and the smooth and squishy deep fried eggplant in the salad contrasted beautifully with the crisp texture of the bean sprouts. Total cost was $126 including two glasses of wine and a public holiday surcharge. I would certainly go back there again without hesitation but would avoid the pork belly. 4 stars.

We had the Tuk-Tuk which is $58 a head feast. The food kept coming and we were given over 14 different dishes from across the menu including dessert. Everybody was full... Even over full. The food was delicious. Some of the starters were extremely spicy. Be aware of the spicy chicken lettuce cups, they will blow your mouth up they are so spicy. Same with the soft shell crab. The coconut creme caramel and pan fried roti with Pandan custard was DELICIOUS! Don't miss the pork pancakes. One of the best dishes. The service was a little poor. The plates kept piling up and weren't getting cleared. They didn't even come and take empty bottles until we piled them on the plates.

I had just gotten back from Byron Bay and told my girlfriend that we had to go someplace great to keep my good-food-high going. Labelled the Chin Chin of Adelaide it certainly did the job, but I personally think it's better than Chin Chin. Ok waay better! Golden Boy is Adelaide's answer to Melbourne's Chin Chin; except Golden Boy does it better. The restaurant was hustling on the Thursday night we went, great selection of wines and all available by the glass. The food is so full of flavour sensation it will blow your socks off; let the guys take care of you. We chose the Tuk-Tuk menu choice, and shortly thereafter we must have tasted anywhere between 8-10 plates, all of them as exciting as the next. Great atmosphere and value for money, but slugged with a 3% AMEX surchage AND a 25c credit card fee.
