First time here 3 of us without the booking. The restaurant was empty anyway. So easily to get a table. We had chicken biryani, lamb biryani and butter chicken with naan. The foods were tasty and had no problem with it. Compliment to the chef! But only one thing, the vibe of the restaurant was a bit uncomfortable to describe. It looks so sad and by the time we arrived, we found a guy cleaning up the window and placed the dirty paper towel at the table where the table has been set up. After he finished, he didn’t even re-clean the table or sanitise it. More cleanliness would be great! Anyway, your food was great!

Not a bad restaurant for a basic Indian meal. A bit slow with service, but when the food eventually arrived it was ok. My aloo gobi was good. Plenty of cauliflower & nice & spicy. Rice was separate & fluffy.

Came here because it was promoted online with a voucher. Still felt a bit ripped off paying the reduced price of $35. One small bowl of rice supposedly for two people, last weeks papadums, naan flavourless and more like tortilla, and no real authenticity in the curries. I guess you can tell if lamb has been slow cooked and is tender or just cooked and then pan re-heated for speed. Choice of dessert was "are you ready for the ice cream?". 4 stars for the workers who showed no interest or care in the customers or their jobs whatsoever but probably still did more than expected given the rubbish wage they're on.

We went on a Sunday night. I expected it to be pretty quiet due to covid19 but the restaurant was about half full. We waited for a while for our meals after ordering but received complimentary dessert, probably as a way of saying "sorry for the wait". The food was absolutely delicious which made the waiting worthwhile. The meal was good value as well. It would be good to visit with a group of friends and have everyone order something different but share. My best Indian restaurant experience yet, I didn't mind the wait.

Terrific. We used one of the $65 4-person banquet deals. And it was so worth it. What a delicious spread of food. Enough for everyone and cooked so traditionally and served so quickly... <15 minutes from seating-to-eating. Quiet, quaint environment, warm with the AC on and delightful servers. We will be back, again and again. Not often that I give 5 stars, but the value for money really does make any other disappointments fade into nothing.

New India is a regular restaurant my family and I go to. Having been to India I have experienced true Indian cuisine and New India replicates just that. Food is always amazing and of high quality. Happy and friendly staff. Would highly recommend if you want to try authentic Indian cuisine.

Restaurant was suitably clean with indian decor, not much of an atmosphere though. I find it hard to trust google reviews sometimes. I went here because they mentioned the great butter chicken. All our curries tasted pretty similar to be honest. We tried a couple different curries - butter chicken, chikken tikka masala and the jafrezi. They had that tangy, sweetish tomato curry kind of taste. I didn't dislike it but wouldn't go back again.

Very affordable food (takeaway lunches start from $5 for a rice and curry and you can bring your own container, and there's a $10 Thali special with 3 curries, rice and naan), authentic atmosphere, fast and friendly service. Went with my nieces and nephew on Friday night. They loved it! The staff are so very friendly, we met the head chef who answered the kids cooking questions eg. what are naans made out of... :) They think Chef Gopal is a rock star!
