Definitely a must eat place in Adelaide. Service is excellent and food were top notch. Oysters were so fresh and tasty; definitely try their beef dish, any of it! Roast chicken was so juicy and well marinated with generous serving. Staff always attended your water and drinks, ensuring everything was fine. Would definitely come back!

Very cozy and warm romantic ambiance. Entrees were fantastic. But they screwed up our order for mains and we waited 45minutes after our entrees to be served, whilst tables around us were already being served their desserts. Minus 1 star for that as we wouldn't have expected this kind of service for the price paid. Only an apology was given. The meats for the mains were too chewy and sauce pairing was also not great. Seafood was overdone. And beef was gammy. Pork had a very chewy skin instead of crispy. Dessert was alright.

Wow, what a place! So much to offer in terms of decor, food, wine, vibe and service, this place is a must do when in Adelaide. Make yourself comfortable, order the feed me or go a la carts, you won’t be steered wrong. Lots of wines to choose from as well, so definitely something for everyone with many different budgets. Highly recommended, can’t wait to come back!

Chefs selection had a nice variety of dishes but not all were amazing. Thought having only one sweets selection was poor also, considering it was a rich chocolate tart which is not everyone's choice. I know their dishes change and multiple dishes for all courses. Presentation made dishes look far better than taste. Meat was very fatty actually. Think this is very overpriced for quality received.

Great looking place, staff very friendly and attentive, the food was amazing, little noisy once full of people, overall great experience. But I would point out few things that made us little disappointed. We noticed when staff was cutting bread for the table that they all were touching it with bare hands and then touching everything else. With what's going on at this moment you would think they would use napkin and tongs. And when I asked if the main can be done as started i was told yes but then charged for main. So little disappointed with that.

First post Covid meal and was it worth it. Amazing! Press* never fails to please my taste buds. Customer service is so welcoming; staff are friendly and the atmosphere is fine dining but relaxed. Can’t remember what all these dishes were but it was the from the tasting menu they had.

I came to Press* hoping to be amazed, based on the reviews I'd read, but unfortunately I wasn't. The interior is quite nice with shared tables, and the staff are very attentive and well versed in food options for diners with certain dietary requirements. The drinks menu is good, with some unique alcoholic-free options. The food ordered was nice, but in general was not standout in taste. We waited a very long time to get our mains - they came out about an hour after we entered the restaurant which felt like too long. It appeared it was due to some delays with the fish of the day ordered. Because of this, not all in our group received the mains at the same time, although there was only about 5 minutes difference in this.

Huge drinks list, great atmosphere and good service. The sirloin steak was particularly good as a main as was the pork bun entree. Downstairs has some communal seating with long stables and stools, whereas upstairs has more intimate tables and booths. 6-6.30pm bookings with less than 3 people are subject to a 2hr dining timeframe so we booked 8pm and enjoyed a slower paced meal!

Good atmosphere. Polite staff with sense of humour. Steak was alright, nothing too crazy just a good old steak, moist and juicy without being overpowered by any seasoning. Chips were decent. Overall a good experience, but not absolutely blown away or anything, would still recommend. Came in a group of 8 and nobody was raving particularly about their food but finished it pretty fast. At 36 dollars for a steak, not too expensive but not too cheap either. As you might tell from this review my general opinion is everything was decent.

Interesting restaurant with very helpful and knowledgable staff. Shared tables may not be to everyone's liking, but it worked for us! The food is exceptional good and the wine selection is great (the staff know their stuff and it is worth trying something unusual - the wine we had was one I would never had ordered - but was pleasantly surprised!). The pork belly was sensational! The only reason for only 4 star is it is a little pricey. (If I could do 4 1/2 I would!)

Press* is an Adelaide institution and rightly so. I’ve been lots of times and will carry on going for as long as it’s there. The restaurant is over two levels with upstairs being my favourite area. Big rooms comfy booths and some tables are the go up there. There’s a bar up there too so you won’t go thirsty. The food is both traditional and inventive sometimes in the same dish! The service is great, they are a well oiled machine. I’ve heard a rumour they may be buying Rigonis which would be awesome.

Celebrated our wedding anniversary here, a jewel of a place... totally unassuming from the outside, but as u enter those doors it’s like the New York subway.. we were seated at the family booths on the first floor with a very attentive staff member always around us... we ordered the veal croquettes and some other stuff to begin with... the croquettes were really well flavoured.. they even made a portion of 5 for us.. For the mains we ordered the burgers, and the steak fries... I would say the meat ranks amongst my best. To end the evening Ordered their top 3 desserts - creme brûlée, soufflé, baked Alaska... somehow these kind of let us down... though the presentation was great - I guess the creme brûlée would have been the better choice but it was kind of half baked... in any case I would still rate this place high for a good evening celebration..

Chic casual eatery with long, shared, high tables and high chairs. Noise level was good, despite a full house - always a good sign that the place is professionally designed. Very attentive and skilled staff. Menu was heavy on the mushrooms, fair prices for nicely prepared steaks and sauces. Inventive salads and tasty sides. The focus isn't on cocktails here, they can't even do a standard Cosmo, but there are at least 5 different types of Gin on offer, which I guess is a sign of the times. The wine list is imPress*ive, though the open selection is a bit limited. An upstairs area offers additional dining space.

Had an excellent meal at Press*. Food was great (regional, seasonal, subtle and interesting) and a great drink menu (had a very reasonably priced local). When my partner today had booked here i was super excited as I had always heard about Press but never been. I assumed that this restaurant was fine dining after reading what was on Google. When entering there most talbles are shared benchtops which is a causal experience and less intimate. This was disappointing. The menu arrived and it then became apparent that it was a steak restaurant. Again completely unexpected. Starters were fantastic but mains options dissapointing.

Loved this place! We dined there for my baby's 6months celebration. We ordered 1kg aged steak which tasted amazing! Other mains and sides also tasted good. Staffs were friendly and the food came on fast. Definitely visit again. The only negative part was no parenting room for people bringing their kids. Also no lift if carry prams. Very inconvenient. That's the only downside.

Went for a wedding event and it is was probably the best service and food I've had at a wedding reception. Staff were attentive with drinks and dietary requirements. The food was something special and their wine selection does Adelaide proud. I'll be returning to dine sometime soon.

Second time eating here, for obvious reasons - this restaurant is one of Adelaide's shining stars for good, tasty food of all kinds, done in interesting and incredible ways more often than not! I have an endless amount of food intolerances and the staff at Press we’re able to work around these enormous restrictions to provide a wonderful array of delicious food for me. I had give up on ever being able to eat out again until I went to Press. All the staff were friendly and our waitress was just the most gorgeous person and she took personal care of us all night. I've been a couple of times now and both times have been outstanding. I opted for something a little simpler with Steak Frites on my second visit, and was happy to receive a deliciously generous plate of medium rare steak and perfectly cooked fries. I followed up my dinner with the peanut, salted caramel and chocolate desert option which was a total winner. We had international guests with us on our visit and they loved it.

This casual dining restaurant offers a range of seating choices to diners. Innovative menu with the freshest of seasonal ingredients matched with a range of Adelaide wines. The chefs menu provides groups of diners with the opportunity to try the innovative dishes at such a reasonable price. This is an Adelaide cbd gem where you can dine alone, as a couple or as a group. The waitstaff are professional, supportive and very happy to describe the ingredients or wine regions and what is on offer to try.

Really impressed with Press!! It may seem expensive but it's not. If you want a good dining experience then it's normal. Also we had the $75 four courses and if you break it down $15 + $15 + $30 +$15 = $75 then it's pretty spot on! (Not that the prices are like that but you get the idea). Really happy with the service and food was really great! Huge selection of drinks which is Awsome.. One thing that was really disappointing was the cocktail list.. There was only like 9 on there and I asked for an Ameretto Sour (not on list) and was told that they couldn't make them 😓 surely their bartenders are skillful enough to make any cocktail..? Other than that was really good and highly recommend you check them out 👍👍

I've been coming here for years, every time I'm in town. Press' consistency of standards is impressive; their Press Burger is still one of the best I've had, globally. It's an exercise in technical perfection and disciplined simplicity. This latest visit, tried the House-Smoked Fish which turned out to be an aioli lumpy mash devoid of any fish or smoked flavours. Disappointing. Can't master them all, but certainly won't deter me from returning.

Recommend booking a table, though the unreserved seating downstairs is great for a more lively vibe. The chef's recommendation menu factors in any preferences, and was really way too much food. Staff lovely as always, great selection of drinks - I make it a point to stop by every time I'm in Adelaide.

Good vibes and good food. Ordered the dry aged sirloin and mixed press* grill. The steak was cooked to perfection and the mixed grill had different types of offals. See below for photos. The quality of the steak was better than Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar but the service was not as great as them. Will visit this restaurant again when I go back to Adelaide. Recommend ordering the steak. :)

The atmosphere is nice, and our food was amazing, as we ordered the tasting menu banquet. A bit pricey if you go with this option with large group of people as really the portion you get vs what you would eventually pay per person is not really worth it. You would be better off ordering ala carte per person of the same dishes as in the menu, place them in the middle, share it amongst yourselves and still come out paying less than the banquet option and you get same portion too. Service was good and highly recommended.

The food and service was great, but a good restaurant goes beyond this as atmosphere is just as much a contributor. The music was so loud that I couldn't hear the person sitting across from me without them having to yell. I would have thought the waitress may have got the hint when she too was talking to me from across the table and twice I had to ask her to repeat herself while putting my hand against my ear to direct her voice towards it. Yes, I understand it is that industrial feel within the restaurant, and the music can still be dominating, but you need to get the balance correct as to when it is just too loud.

Had a wonderful experience at Press* last night. We left our lives in the hands of the kitchen staff and they definately didnt disappoint. This brigade that know what they are doing. Perfect food matches prepared with love!! Our table staff was spot on, especially when I commented we were after a wine that would linger on the palette, by using the term 'lingeree". Her reply, I think you mean lingere sir. Classic. Highlight of the night, chargrill ox tounge and the anchovies stuffed olives in the martini. Highly recommend Press* in Adelaide.

The layout of the restaurant is really interesting with bar-type chairs. The list of wine is excellent. Dishes are well executed with a few tiny issues (the squid was soft but didn't have an actual side included, the pappardelle were delicious but too spicy and I would have preferred to taste the crab more). The desserts unfortunately were not balanced: the coconut custard was made crème brulée style but had dehydrated pineapple slices on the side which I frankly didn't understand. The bomb Alaska was disappointing: great visual effect (with the flame and everything) but the ratio meringue-ice-cream inside was completely off. Additionally, as soon as you get to the sponge cake layer on the bottom, it just tastes of the alcohol that was used to make the flames. What about reducing the ice-cream amount and using just a tiny quantity of a flavored liquor (Calvados f.i.) to avoid the weird soak?

A fairly lack luster experience for such a beautiful new fit out. We were given the wine menu on arrival but no food menu which seems an odd way to begin service if you like to pair your drinks. We were immediately informed that we couldn't order any cocktail beyond a negroni or base with a mixer as they were short staffed so settled on a bottle of wine. When we got to receiving our food menu they were sold out of the oysters which would have been nice to know prior to ordering. First impressions.. not great. Our waiter seemed stressed and had little to no knowledge of the food or wine. He couldn't answer basic questions like what the sauce on the ribs was and he forgot one of our dishes twice needing to be reminded. The food itself was good enough albeit some dishes a bit under seasoned. The chicken skins with abalone were the best by far. I'd still be interested to come back and see whether this was just a teething issue with the re-opening. I hope so!
