Great place, great food, great service. We were well taken care of, it wasn't a busy place as expected on Wednesday and just after the lockdown. The waitress was greatly helpful in informing us of what's available to order and what each item was like. My mum had a great time there for her birthday.

Went here for a work Christmas lunch. The staff are incredibly friendly and the prices are very decent. I got the vegan drunken noodles of off the lunch menu and my friend got the vegan pad thai of off the al carte menu. The food was amazing, and everyone at the table was very happy with their lunches.

Probably the best Thai restaurant in town.The restaurant is located on one if the busiest streets in the city. Warm reception and very quick and friendly service. Good choices of Thai food and nice verity of the drinks. We ordered bbq squid, Pad-Thai and pan seared pork with rice. Out of the dishes the Pad-Thai was the best and cooked to perfection. The red wine was just absolutely fantastic pairing. The squid and pork were a bit dry but very fresh. Nice place to visit.

There’s a reason this place is a solid gouger st favourite for many years, its fantastic! You’re greeted by friendly service which then throughout the night goes above and beyond. Meal wise everything is delicious, the ‘sea star’ dumplings are delicious and cant go past the massman curry for main, although cashew chicken and chargrilled pork arent far behind. Great wine selection too!

Came here for the second time (after a few years) and the food quality is certainly high. I especially liked the drunken seafood dish! One thing I found quite nice was the lovely staff who served portions of the fried rice and fried noodle onto each individual diner's plate before walking away - not many places do this and it was a nice touch that we appreciated. Overall the cost is fairly standard, I think I have had much more expensive Thai food at a similar level of quality in other places. I also particularly liked the snow pea salad entree. If I wasn't super full I would have liked to have tried a dessert item! Maybe next time!

If you are looking for an elegant place to grab lunch during the week then this is the one to choose. Their menu is great across the board. Whether you partake in their Laksa, Drunken Noodles or one of their many rice dishes you are bound to be extremely happy with the result. Having gone there for so many years and never had a bad meal, I wonder if there is a restaurant that delivers such consistency in their food day in day out. We all love the staff there too. Jazzy is always first with a warm greeting and making you feel at home.

Honestly the best satay chicken I’ve ever had. Could have had it made into a main course, it’s that good! The chicken dishes were beyond expectations. Next time will need to add a more vegetarian dish to balance out the protein. Staff are amazingly friendly. You can’t go wrong eating here

This Thai restaurant in the Chinatown vicinity left a really good impression on me. I cannot really remember exactly what we ordered, but it was quite delicious and I finished everything nicely. Called in hoping for a table for two on a Saturday night about 6pm. Had to be in and out in an hour. Perfect. Tom Yum soup was good, Kao-pad was ok, but the massaman curry was outstanding. Probably the the best mild beef curry I've ever eaten. (I have to go check my other reviews update them now...) The great service and giving us a table at short notice was greatly appreciated.

Super recommend this place! Couple days ago I went there with my boyfriend, the staff there super friendly, they were really nice and helpful. I was shocking with their attitude, can’t get better than that around Adelaide. Feel like home. The food was excellent, I’m really happy to know this place. Visited this restaurant at the end of August. It was extremely busy but that didn't stop the staff from being very attentive. The lady who was in charge really impressed me when we arrived - she remembered who I was from going in earlier to make the booking which made us feel special. It is one of the nicest Thai restaurants I have been to and hope I get the opportunity to visit Adelaide in the future so I can re-visit.

A group of us decided last minute to head to dinner on a Saturday night. We had tried to dine at other restaurants but were denied due to being booked out. When we came to star of Siam they advised we could sit outside but only for 1 hour due to another booking. We ordered quickly and the food came shortly after. One of the better Thai places around Adelaide if not the best. Their spicy seafood rice is really good and is a must try for lunch. This place does offer the best value for money on their lunch menu. However outside of that, I do feel they are a bit on the expensive side for the quantity. But yes the food is good and do have a reservation as this place is usually crowded during lunch or dinner times.

What an amazing first experience. Perfect dinner spot if you have a small group of 3-6 people. Creating your own meals is half the fun and the staff are more than accommodating if you require assistance. Such great service, we had a great time and will be back again very soon!

We arrived at 12 o'clock in order to secure an outside table to make the most of the sunny weather we were having. In front of us were loads of tables with Reserved signs on them. Lucky we came early. Usually I don't enjoy eating outside if we are close to the traffic but this is an enclosed area and separated enough from the cars. Food was delicious and hot! Just the way I like it. Tasted pretty authentic and I didn't see any customary signs of when Chinese people try to do Thai. (Have to be wary, being in Chinatown and all). Food came out very quickly so I am assuming they are very well prepped with an army of cooks in the kitchen. I could taste the fire of the wok! Service is very professional. Within the space of 30 minutes, the tables were almost all filled up. This place is very popular, so I suggest a booking, if possible. Also, feel free to ask for hot!

Hands down the best Thai food in Adelaide, and I've been to plenty restaurants. Really good authentic flavours, good serving sizes and always cooked perfectly. Food comes out really quick too. Plenty of people here complaining about bad service, if you go to restaurant and think the waiters will feed you then don't go. Never had bad service here. Try for yourself!

I have in my working life in Hospitality seen a lot to few to mention here...what annoys me the most in Hospitality is poor service and low standards, whether basic hygiene practices,or just plain customers service. Last night I had the most unpleasant experience walking in to Restaurant and realising immediately this is the wrong place! This place was an absolute shocker it stunk it looked visibly tired and dirty... it was below anything I have ever seen..(I know you must think why going there in the first place? I was actually after a specific dish wich they pride themselves of being the best)...long story...anyway I paid my due walked out immediately afterwards as I felt certain it was going to ruin our night...(you can teach an old dog new tricks) so I had to make rearrangement for a table of 8 as it was a 50 birthday celebration for someone special to me. I then tried my luck at the "Star of Siam" a lot of you probably know this place and a lot of you know this Lady in the pic.. I told her what happened (Restaurant was busy almost full)...she said give me 10 minutes and so it went....I HAD ONE OF THE BEST NIGHT!!! the food was executed perfectly it was tasty well presented and so was the service...we had the best time ever.. I have visited the Star of Siam many times in the past it has always been consistently good and Jasmine is the absolute SUPERSTAR what an Icon what an inspiration you are.. thank you for kidness and professionalism..

Tonight was my first dining experience at Star of Siam but it most definately wont be my last . My father in law was in town and we rang for a 7.15pm reservation at 7pm on a very busy Friday night and the manager accommodated our request with out question. It was very busy and i hoped this was a good indication that we were in for a treat....and we were. Star of Siam are consistently fantastic. Our party of five tonight were tabled, served, cleared, and chequed instantly. The wait staff are crazy kind and very personable. They negotiated an amazing assortment of entrees off menu to suit our group: the sea stars and satay chicken are superb! Delicious food and good service however they almost lost our booking and it left us standing around for 5 minutes while it was sorted out. Historically they have been great and perhaps this was a slip up. The cuisine and menu is clear with little ambiguity as to the dishes as is often the case with some asian restaurants.

We were looking for a meal in Adelaide's China Town when we saw this restuarant. Staff were very attentive. I have tasted Thai food before and while the food was hot and tasty, it wasnt delicious. The restuarant was very busy so it was a popular place. Menu was only a few pages which meant more opportunities for the chef to offer more specials to customers. Parking on the street is hard sometimes, but opposite is the Central Market car park which has ample parking available. Wine menu was good, a wine variety of red, white and specialised wines, a big selection of beer and spirits. Price was fairly average so no complaints here. Suggestion: Manageress needs to stop avoiding customers eyes who need serving and stop avoiding work...staff worked hard... she did'nt. Food was tasty but needs more 'zing' to make this a must go place. Rating: 5/10

OMG! This place is awesome! I just returned from Bangkok and Phuket but they don't come close to Star of Siam in Gouger Street. From the moment we walked in the door we were treated like royalty. Yul Brenner eat you heart out. The queen Sue and I feasted and were treated like the king and queen of old Siam. Do yourself a big favour and try the seafood and don't go past the chef's specials (except for the drunken seafood). A...mazing!!!!!!
