Very nice food. Great service but hard to get the attention of wait staff once they were really busy. We were also talked into a very good value deal but I didn’t know the fillet we were getting wasn’t the original expensive one I wanted but a much cheaper cut. Still, great value for what we got. The bruschetta was tasty but very overpriced and the Mac and cheese was delicious but perhaps a bit runnier than I prefer. They also gave my toddler her own plastic place setting which was adorable and came by to pick up and replace her things every time they ended up on the floor. Colouring activity set also given which kept her busy and helped us have a really nice night. Strawberry smash cocktail was bland. I would probably return but perhaps make sure I definitely order the higher marbling next time so it lives up the the reputation of a great steak house in my head.

One of my favourite steak houses in Australia. It’s a top quality experience. Staff is best in the business, warm, courteous and accommodating to dietary and other requirements. They have HALAL options which is fantastic. Food is unique with grilled meats with African influences. Service is quick and focused on diner satisfaction. Meat cuts are fantastic and cooked to liking. I love the beef ribs, moist, juicy, tender and full of flavour. The bbq sauce is so delicious. Other than beef steaks and ribs, I love their chicken skewers! The garlic bread is unlike any other I have had - it’s like a buttered roll loaded with fried garlic and parmesan. It’s YUM. Prices are on the higher end but it’s worth it in my opinion. Highly recommend dining here. You should call ahead to make a reservation.

Fine food & wine!
Upon entry, the Beautifully designed restaurant is so incredibly inviting, fitted with bar style seating, lounge booths and traditional tables with plush chairs. Great ambiance, the music is set loud enough to enjoy the tunes but soft enough to not have to shout across the table to chat with friends throughout the dining experience.
The wine menu is exquisite, also offering lots of other alcoholic beverages, enough non alcoholic options too. The dining menu is not extensive but what is on offer is served to perfection.
Staff are friendly and accommodating but we were forgotten throughout the night at time had to wave for attention.

Anniversary dinner tonight @themeatandwineco! It was a good experience, the vibe was great however we didn’t really rate the food it was pretty mid in our opinions! The steak had a glaze on it that we weren’t too particularly keen on! However the entrées were really good and the drinks were tasteful!

The staff were so accommodating for a special anniversary occasion. I dropped off some engraved wine glasses the day before my reservation and asked if they could be brought out once my partner and I select our red wine, and the gentleman that brought out our wine did not fail to deliver. He cleverly got my partner to look at the wine bottle as he placed the engraved glasses on the table, then when my partner looked at the glasses, she realised what I arranged and had a massive smile on her face for the rest of the night as she adored the gesture! On top of this, when we ordered the Crème brûlée for dessert, the chefs wrote “Happy Anniversary” with the chocolate sauce to which neither of us expected and they also didn't charge us for the dessert, such an amazing experience and service provided by the staff and chefs at this restaurant and such a nice gesture. The steaks we got were to die for and cooked perfectly, the dining room was decorated so amazingly, and it provided the whole room a great atmosphere. Great food, Great service and a Great experience all around. For it being the first time here, we will most definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and have already to our friends and family. Very much appreciated and it was an amazing experience! Thank so much to the management, waitstaff and chefs, 10/10!

Atmosphere was dulled down by how close the tables of 2 were next to each other. Tables are literally an arms length away from each other leaving little privacy. If you have 4+ in your group, a centre table that resembles a hut would be very nice. Would recommend requesting a more private table.
Food:
We ordered the 500g wagyu with onion rings. Wagyu was quite tough & chewy and left us disappointed as hopes were high seeing this place specialised in meat. Crispy onion rings were frizzled and really crispy but very heavy.
Chicken!!! It was amazing moist and flavour full. Unexpectedly this was such a favourite. Don’t usually order chicken breast when we dine out as a lot of place overcook & dry out the chicken but def recommending ordering the chicken here!

Simply Adelaide's best steakhouse. We have been fortunate enough now to dine at Meat & Wine Co. a couple of times. I thought the first time I was struck by lightning, thinking there must have been a glitch in the Matrix that the meat was that good, but low and behold, the second time was absolutely as good. I had the 500gm Wagyu Rump, and while I'm not usually a Rump man, this steak is ridiculous. If you are a full blooded carnivore, you haven't had a steak in Adelaide til you've eaten at Meat & Wine Co.

Me and my girlfriend attended for our 2nd year anniversary, and I could not be more pleased with the level of service and quality of food. I ordered the New Yorker Steak and she ordered the Skewered Salmon, both cooked to absolute perfection by the amazing chefs. The level of service we were granted was second to none, constantly refilling our drinks, asking us how the food was, and taking a general interest in us as customers. Our server was Deny and I cannot speak more highly of him. I would come here again in a heartbeat. Beautiful.

This place is awesome, the ambiance is awesome, casual to smart casual dress, the staff are friendly and helpful. But the important thing is the food right, it's South African themed with a few items on the menu that pay homage to this, my wife is south African so the bar is set high, like Africola is "meh" for us high, this place is good. The stake cooked how I asked, and unless you've been to Nunyara amongst the best you'll get In adelaide. The biltong ( like a South African jerky) is authentic. And wines from the Stellenbosh region of south Africa. It not all south African, but what they do they do well. A must if you consider yourself a steak person.

It's either clout chasing or its the vibe cause 5/5 for design and look.
But the food is okay won't say it's spectacular. A true person there for steak and wine Mayuri Station is far better and there are a few more places in Adelaide that I feel is much more worth it base on pricing and this is my second time here. For fine dining it's okay this is constructive feedback because this is in the top tier of fine dining so people need to consider the value of the entire experience.

I came in for dinner with a party of 9. Had a great time. I ordered the prawns for an entree, The spice/heat of dish was a bit over powering but a tasty dish. Had the rib fillet 330gm for main. It wasn’t the best steak but it was edible. The ambience of the restaurant was really lovely. Myself and party were lucky to have a section to ourselves but still in the restaurant, just sectioned off by the decor… if that makes sense. Service was great. Selected the Mean and Wine Co for a birthday occasion and we were rewarded with an excellent experience. Struggled to find any fault with this venue; from interesting decor, spacious seating options, comfortable and intimate lighting, initial reception and on. In fact, the only criticism would be the narrow and slightly hazardous steps at the entry; I'd suggest this be engineered differently for patron safety.
The menu selections all sounded attractive; we selected some steaks and savoured their juicy deliciousness! The chips that came with them were indeed crispy and the salad was fresh. Service provided on this evening was polite, attentive and rapid. We were even provided a complimentary dessert with a personalised birthday message - an appreciated and memorable touch.
Mean and Wine Co. provided a thoroughly enjoyable experience that I will share with others and recommend this place based upon.

Really posh layout. Bar area and dining area is separated. Only tried the desserts. Had the platter which came in full portion sizes, and they were all pretty good. The lava cake was very molten. Success. Mint tiramisu had a lot of mint flavour packed in it and was very creamy and soft. Pudding was warm and fluffy. Creme brulee was crispy at the top and mousse like inside. I'd go back just for the desserts. But am keen to try out their main menu someday..

We had a large group booking (20+) recently at The Meat & Wine Co and they did not disappoint. Having been a fan of the restaurant interstate, I was looking forward to dining here in the Adelaide restaurant. The fit out is quite impressive yet intimate. They had a sectioned off room that fit all of us in. I was a bit skeptical about the quality of food in such a big group setting but they did not disappoint - everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The wagyu steak was so tender and flavoursome. All of the other dishes were great as well!

One criticism is that not all the wait staff practice the courtesy of ladies first, even when prompted repeatedly.

I purchased this experience for partners birthday as he is obsessed with meat/steak.
From the moment we walked in the door the amazing experience began - customer service was outstanding, we got there a little early so we indulged in a delicious cocktail.
The food was to die for... Seriously scrumptious and melt in your mouth!! And I mean everything from your starters, entrée, main, sides and dessert - chocolate fondant was the best we've eaten - ever!!!
This place carter's for all society groups, we were on a date, but then there were families enjoying the food along with corporate dinners and Christmas celebrations.
As I said in my heading, if you love food then this place is an absolute must to put on your list of restaurants to dine in.

My only gripe and a very small one is....Greek Salad(authentic) is made up of cucumber, tomatoes, green or red pepper, kalamata olives, red onion with olive oil, black pepper, oregano and most importantly a small slab (10cm x 5cm x 2cm) of pure fetta. Greek salad DOES NOT have green lettuce of any kind in it. What we ate last night was not a Greek salad as per the menu.

This place is fantastic! Came here for my birthday lunch today and the food was delicious - every single course! Wagyu steak cooked to perfection, fantastic chips and an insanely good creme brulee! I had a party of 15 and all of our food came out on time, the staff were so accommodating (and patient and timely in replying to my numerous emails as I kept forgetting to ask a question) and a special shout out goes to Thomas! Not only was he fully aware of who ordered what and was super organised, he was a great photographer and took our group photo! Absolute MVP.

We were shown to our table once we arrived. Offered drinks to start and was given the menu and wine list. For starters we had the glazed pork belly, garlic bread and the szechuan calamari. All three were fantastic. My friend ordered the ribeye, medium with peppercorn sauce and chips. She loved it. We also had a side of truffle mac and cheese and the broccolini. There was a slight issue with my order, the chicken breast. It did not look like the photos I've seen on the official Instagram page of the Meat & Wine Co or described on the menu. I asked the waiter who then check the menu and realized there was an error. The chicken breast was suppose to be served with butternut squash puree not lentils. We watched him communicate with the chef and ask if it was suppose to be with lentils and he wasn't sure himself and they both examined the menu. The waiter returned and relayed the information and apologize for the error and assured me that a new plate will be served soon. Overall excellent service to both waiter/waitress who served us tonight.

It was so yummy and for mains we had steak, chips and salad. I usually hate eating salad at restaurants as it's usually try and flavourless but Their salad was so good! The burger was amazing and the port ribs were to die for.
I would say its the best meal we have had since moving to Australia 10 years ago.
The service and staff were excellent. So good in fact we took the kids there for a special meal a week later and they loved it too (aged 5 and 8).
A big shout out to Tom, our waiter, he was really nice and enhanced the experience.

Overall a very satisfying dining experience with some great food and good service for a large busy restaurant. My wife absolutely loved her prawn entree and my Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly. Sides of broccoli and beetroot salad were also excellent. And the chips are some of the best going around! Only complaints were my wife’s fillet steak was cooked quite a bit under her medium order and initial drinks took a long time to arrive. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable dinner.

There were some positives, but also some negatives. For just under $1000, our expectations were far from met.
Positives: Mac 'n' cheese 10/10. Desserts were amazing. Drink selection & cocktails are great. Most food came out very quickly once ordered. Entrees were fantastic.
Neutals: Beef ribs, ok but not as good as Melb M&WC. Service was ok - not great, but ok.
Negatives: All steaks were sadly underwhelming, especially the $89 Wagyu rib eye a few of us ordered. It was 100% NOT worth the money. It did not have the taste or texture of a 6+ marble score at all. So incredibly disappointed. Taste & texture (not tough, but not what a 6+ usually is) - was on par with a decent $30-40 pub steak. The cheaper 6+ rump was much nicer, taste & texture-wise.
Paying an additional $10 for truffle butter when it was implied by wait staff that it was just another option like jus or gravy. Would have ordered it regardless, but very cheeky additional cost was not mentioned.
Side salads were very disappointing - again, on par with pub meal.
Waiting a relatively long time to order and multiple times having to get up and find staff to chase up items not brought out.
Overall 6/10.
Would go back but wouldn't order a steak.

We started with the bread which was delicious. My partner said his steak was very good. As a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised by the one vegetarian option - a grilled broccolini salad. Next time I will be sampling a couple of the many vegetarian sides. Great drinks list and loved finishing up our meal with a chocolate fondant cake.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary here this past April 14th. We'd visited the Darling Harbour venue in the past and were so excited to hear of a restaurant opening in Adelaide. And we definitely were NOT disappointed! To start with, we received very friendly greetings upon arrival, and the atmosphere is gorgeous. Yes, Darling Harbour has the views but Adelaide has the ambience! The staff were prompt, courteous and delightful. Props especially to Tom, who is one of the loveliest waiting staff we've ever encountered ( thanks Tom!). Now.....the food was unreal, in the best sense. Mouth watering, succulent, hot, tasty, presentation outstanding. Can't wait to go back there this weekend with my lovely daughter. Hoping that Tom can provide table service again! The food was good for the price. I got the $49 express lunch. The waiter asked me what sauce I wanted with my steak and I was later surprised to see an $8 charge on the bill for the sauce. I thought this should have been explained considering I specifically requested the $49 lunch. I also wasn't warned about a $1.50 surcharge when my card was tapped.
I'm not a fan of the atmosphere. Their website talks about a $30M restoration of a classic building, but none of the classic architecture was visible from within the restaurant. The place has no sunlight and the decorations and music make it feel like an R&B night club, which was especially depressing on a sunny afternoon. There is also an extremely narrow set of stairs to enter and exit the building which felt quite dangerous. Both my wife and I almost slipped.

I had been looking forward to dining at The Meat & Wine Co. in Adelaide for a long while - and the opportunity presented itself tonight for a birthday dinner for a friend. A group of us had dinner there tonight, and I left feeling unsure if I'd be eager to return again.
My steak was cooked perfectly and I enjoyed the meal, and so did my wife. However, there's something about the service that left a funny taste.
One member of our group realised that her steak was off. She had quietly eating her meat, thinking that the sour meat was part of the marinade. It was only when she tried our friend's steak that she realised that her meat was probably off. By then, her steak was nearly eaten ... A member of the group who is also a chef, confirmed that the meat was off. In a perfect situation, the establishment would've taken the meat, checked it, and then apologised profusely (despite the steak being mostly eaten), removed the item from the bill, and gave the team a complimentary something. That would've been the perfect story. Not tonight.
Another server took her plate, and then upon confirmation from the kitchen, he concurred that the meat was off. The staff then said that he could take 50% off the price or have another steak cooked for her - he pointed out that the steak was already mostly eaten. She was already full by then (and it would've created a major headache for them, if she had food poisoning). It was only upon further consultation with the manager, that the price of her meal was taken off the bill - with us feeling a tad funny and guilty for something that we didn't deliberately do or within our control. In fact, it was a reflection of the lapse of quality control that could have been turned into a moment of delights for us.
It's this along with other trivial things (e.g., we always felt unsure if the service staff had taken our order or instructions correctly or not) - that left us feeling unsure about the Meat & Wine Co.
Service was friendly, yes - the food was enjoyable. However, I'd rather go somewhere where the food is great, the service is competent, friendly, and top notch, and I leave feeling satisfied - and eager to return in the future (I can name a couple here in Adelaide, but it would detract from the points that I am trying to make).

The service needs improving.
It was only 5.15pm because that was the only time we could get a reservation, so the restaurant wasn't even full at the time. Staff seemed lost although it's been open for a few months now.
We got served water and then it took another 20 mins for someone to come back to ask us about drinks, and then another 20 mins for us to order our meals. While we were waiting for someone to please come to our table there were a couple of big tables around us with 10-14 people, and like 4-5 wait staff bringing them food multiple times. When they were leaving their tables not one of them served us or the table sitting next to us on the way back. The table next to us had their dirty plates sitting in front of them for ages, just waiting to ask someone for a dessert menu, looking around for someone to notice them - and one of many staff serving those big tables around us could have noticed that when they were going back and forth many times. They had to physically put their hand up to ask someone to clear their table and bring them a dessert menu, while we were still waiting to order our drinks & meals 30 minutes after coming into the restaurant. And there shluld be better service when people are paying 80-90 dollars per head.
The entrees were beautiful, we ordered tuna tartare and prawns. Steak was overcooked especially around the edges, they were fully well done when we asked for medium. Only slightly pink in the centre... But it was tasty and the sauce were beautiful too
Not sure if I would be returning, might give it a couple more months for staff to be trained better.

If you’re in Adelaide CBD and keen for a perfect steak for lunch, make your way to Meat And Wine Co. They have a very affordable 1-3 course lunch special which includes their marbled wagyu steak. For this quality of steak, you’d expect to be paying much more, but it becomes quite affordable with the lunch time prices. I will be visiting soon to try it out for dinner!

The tasting platter was a very good start of the dinner. you get to try 4 different entrees!
We enjoyed the mussels and barramundi. Mussels were very fresh and tender.
The pork ribs were well flavoured, but it seemed to me the same flavour as the pork belly in the tasting platter, so we ended up a bit sick of the flavour.
I am not sure if the wagyu was grade MS6, I can’t really tell the difference between this and normal steak..I don’t think $90 for the steak worths the price.. I’d rather pay a bit extra on top for MS8 wagyu, which you can really tell the difference.
The steak was slightly flavoured, tasted like same sauce with the pork rib? But only coated outside. I personally prefer tasting the steak without any coating flavour, and it also made me feel like almost all I ordered was with the same sauce...
I was surprised that we ended up paying $3 extra for eftpos surcharge (the total bill was $220). we weren’t told until the card was tapped.
The decor and atmosphere were no doubt very fabulous, but if you are looking for a good taste, the might not be the one.

I often am hard to please but this place is truly on point.
We had the prawns and the pork for entrees. Both were divine. The prawns were perfectly cooked with balanced flavours and a beautiful hint of chilli.
The pork was so soft, cooked with the most incredible smoke flavour and paired with a perfect amount of coleslaw.
For mains we had steak - by far the best cooked steak I have had.
So soft - perfectly cooked and perfectly rested. We had the mushroom sauce and blue cheese sauce. Again - both were amazing - Although, I LOVED the blue cheese sauce, definitely a stand out.
The side salad we chose was the tomato and goats curd. So refreshing and paired perfectly with the steaks.
If I was to be extremely picky, the mashed potato and the sauce weren't as hot as I would have liked them but that is really looking for something to critic. Our waiter was Asim. He was just beautiful. Could not recommend this place more. Thankyou so much for a perfect experience.
