We celebrated a birthday here and the venue was excellent! The catering was awesome - the organisers were always on top of everything and the food was simply marvellous. With the stunning views and hospitable service, this was definitely one of the most memorable birthday celebrations. Cheers! 🥂

Magic! Nothing short of magic for every visit we make. This one was a little bit extra special after 2.5 years separated, we enjoyed a scrumptious breakfast reminiscing with my parents who have arrived to visit from Canada. Our first magical moment was 10 years ago when Kelly, Justin and team made our wedding the most carefree and happy night of celebrating love. Your dedication to perfection in all areas of your business shows with every visit and we love the respect and appreciation you hold for your guests. Had a lovely brunch here, set amongst a stunning scenery. The staff are lovely and service was quick. Definitely one of my favorite spots to enjoy the serenity away from the hustle bustle of everyday life. Offers a quick cafe style, or restaurant seating inside and out. I love that it has an all day breakfast menu, and a “build your own” breakfast option on that menu. Also fresh juices made to order is a great option. We will have to come back soon to try the Sunday High Tea on offer.

After a crazy busy week, and the juggle (insert stress) of life. It was amazing to pull into our favourite cafe/restaurant. The waterfall was flowing, and even though it was busy the staff were absolutely amazing. The lack of phone signal was exactly what was needed. The smile on our gorgeous girls face shows how fabulous the Vanilla shake was, and this tired mum was over the flipping moon for a coconut milk latte (yes totally one of those people).

What a serene and beautiful atmosphere, with the sound of the waterfall in the distance, greenery all around, you can't but settle in for brunch in high spirits. Eggs Bene was perfectly done, the coffee a delight, wait staff pleasant and amenable, the cost a positive surprise. All in all, perfect.

I had my birthday brunch at Utopia and all the staff made it so special, it was such a perfect day! The food was amazing, so fresh and made with so much love, and those with dietary needs were very well looked after too! Every meal was just perfect! The staff were beyond lovely and so helpful, they greeted everyone so warmly, and made it a truly special morning. The attention to detail in the set up was amazing, it was personalised to me and there was so much thought in it. Everyone involved at Utopia really put in so much effort and care, and it made for a very memorable day. True to it's name -'Utopia' definitely is a very gorgeous place! I have been wanting to visit this place for a long time & glad that I finally did during my hike to Mt. Lofty summit. Tucked away in beautiful waterfall gully, the place serves great food/drinks made extra special by warm & attentive staff. Definitely worth a visit!

Great atmosphere, food and service. The building is a wood cabin tucked into the side of the mountain with a running fireplace during the cold season. The coffee was good, food fresh and tasty. Looking forward to trying the high tea next time.

Came here for Brunch and was indeed a perfect place for a beautiful day after a hike back from Mount Lofty. With lush green in the background with the faint sound of the waterfall, the day could only be topped off with a beautiful brunch at Utopia. From coffee to meals ordered, everything was made to perfection. Perfection to lead one to food coma. Total meal cost wasn't expensive in comparison to the restaurant on Mt.Lofty. Would definitely come back and recommend this place highly.

We went here for the first time a few weeks back and it was great. I had booked online but it ended up being a booking site not linked to the cafe so they were fully booked and didn't have our booking.. They so nicely accommodated our family of 4 by giving us one of their tables set aside for high Tea. Breakfast was delicious and well priced and food was delivered promptly especially for how busy they were. Highly recommend. Great start to the day before we headed off on our hike.

We had a surprise high tea on Sunday for a birthday celebration and it was outstanding. Thorough communication leading up to the event to ensure the day went smoothly and service was amazing on the day. The food was absolutely delicious - the guest of honour is coeliac and had no adverse reaction from her food which was served separately and cautiously to her. All of the other guests could not speak highly enough of the food. Would highly recommend Utopia and will definitely be coming back!

What a lovely lunch we had at Utopia (with friends). The beef cheeks were amazing, as was the pork belly.....& not to forget the rosemary potatoes! Utopia benefits from a beautiful setting. The staff are pleasant. And the breakfasts looked good. But if you're offering Devonshire Teas then, for the love of all things sacred, try to get the basics right. Tea should be served in tea cups, not demitasse-style tulip cups that are designed purely for coffee. They are in no way suitable for tea, and any tea drinker's heart sinks whenever tea is served in them. You also need a knife with a wide blade for spreading jam or cream; a narrow, pointed, serrated knife designed for cutting food is just hopeless for the task. (It didn't help that the jam was watery and, frankly, unpleasant.). $10 for tea and scones seems like a good deal. But I'd happily pay $15 if you could do it well.

the good: Poached eggs were fresh and cooked well. The scenery and ambience is beautiful. the bad: Could be hard to get a park. Kids pancakes were dry, not freshly made. French toast had too many flavours. The eggs benny came with "cake like" bread. The mushrooms were not made fresh, not seasoned, no garlic. would I go back: I think there is a reason the car park is full yet they are almost empty. They don't need to do much, just have a bit more respect for their clientele. I would go back if I heard they had improved things, it is a great spot.

I challenge you to find a yummier tasting scone in Adelaide, they are absolutely delicious! The staff are all exceptional with their amazing service, especially Bernie and Andrew, they both really do stand out.!! We like it how everyone remembers our names. This is a beautiful little venue right next to the waterfall and walking tracks. The drive up to the restaurant is also nice, as you pass the houses built into the forest. Our family stopped in for breakfast, and it was very quiet and cosy. The food and coffee was delicious, and the staff were lovely. The venue itself is warm and inviting, with tall ceilings, exposed timber, a fireplace and elegant table settings. Unfortunately they've been having trouble with flooding in nearby areas and other weather hazards, so the foot traffic has apparently decreased lately, but don't let that stop you! They are still open, and we were so glad we stopped by, as the overall atmosphere and experience left my family with smiles on our faces.

29/11/19 Food was magnificent. The carrots + goat cheese side dish and the pear + blue cheese that went with the pork were definitely swoon-worthy. Would have liked to see more chicken and/or vegetarian options. Service was friendly and obliging, surroundings gorgeous. Blue wrens hopping about on the verandah. Tables for two don't have as clear a view of the gully, so would aim at taking a larger group next time, but the ambience of the place is pleasant enough even without. Nice walk afterwards.

We recently celebrated my mum's 70th birthday with a High Tea at Utopia @ Waterfall Gully. A BIG thank you to Beth and her team for making it such a special day. Mum is still on cloud nine! Friends keep asking who made that delicious b'day cake too (orange and almond - made by the chef at Utopia)! Beth's attention to detail was impeccable and the afternoon ran seamlessly. The team were wonderful in accommodating and pre-empting all of our requests. With COVID-19 restrictions we had limited time to plan. Beth was fabulous in helping us put together such a memorable occassion at such short notice. I cannot recommend Utopia highly enough!

Had the big brekky and it wasn't bad but not worth travelling too far for. Went with a group of 8 and despite the fact that the place wasn't even half full we had to ask twice for a missing drink that we got after they started clearing our table. They didn't charge us for it and half heartedly apologized...waitresses seemed stressed and a bit disorganized but accomodating overall. Also they have speakers but no music for atmosphere...very much just a stopover kiosk at this stage in time.
