I had awesome night yesterday, if you are planning to book here You won't be disappointed :) when you entered the restaurant you will see the perfect atmosphere! It is perfect matching with restaurant. I have ordered 3 course for dinner, and all the food was really amazing! every food that I order is flavory and great balance with other food and drinks. I can't choose what is the best one because all the food was so good :) also, the staff is so friendly and really well known about the food! when I was entering the restaurant they are welcoming me really much so I feel really nice ! thank you for the nice experience!

We booked in at this place off of the back of a recommendation by someone at work and it certainly didn't disappoint! 😃 We went for a birthday celebration, so wanted something special and we're so glad we did. The spot is picturesque, sitting out on the lawn in the sunshine overlooking the valley and hills beyond. Even though the wind kicked up a bit, was still such a pleasant afternoon. 🌄 The service was also really great - attentive enough to make sure you had everything you need but not intrusive, so we could concentrate on enjoying our experience. The menu recommendations and matched wines were outstanding, too and while deviated a bit from our normal preferences, the staff really nailed it. 🔨 Speaking of the wines, they really were well made and delicious. Definitely catered to our varied tastes. 🍷Excellent in-house beers, too 🍺 And what can I say about the food, other than how much we loved it? We had quite different requirements but everyone handled them with ease and grace. Such a great experience, can't wait to go back

We celebrated an 80th birthday at Victor’s Place and all had a wonderful time. The staff were absolutely delightful - thoughtful, warm and cheerful - and the meal was amazing - in the top five best meals of my life. The wines are delicious, the view and ambience lovely. I would highky recommend Victor’s for any occasion, or even just for an hour of wine tasting with bread and olives to treat yourself one afternoon.

Booked for lunch at 12pm Thursday, was greeted by name at the door as we arrived. I was so impressed I booked a table for 2pm on Sunday. Again I was greeted by name. The service is exceptional, the food is beyond exceptional - Chris Bone & team, thank you so much for providing us with amazing food, the truffle cappelletti, oh my goodness, no words for how good that is and the duck crown, perfect. The team are wonderful. We left with wine and gin. Had a long, relaxed, comfortable Sunday lunch in our new favourite place. We've been here a few times now, it's pretty much our go to place if you want really good food, great wine and service, this time imparticular was even better, after queezing us in with our qld visitors, we were greeted with warmth and familiarity, remembering where our visitors were from was a special touch, they loved it, the food as always was delicious the wine too, back in a few weeks with more visitors from qld, the words out!!

The atmosphere was so warm. One of the owners came and introduced the menu etc and she was stunningly sweet, energetic, genuine and very charasmatic. She makes the warmth of this place and it feel relaxing and welcoming. The food was OMG delish... I'm wishing I had another round of the three courses now.. craving it again. Very keen to book again. Dinner at Victor's Place in McLaren Vale: great tasting food overall! The only slight criticism was that the kitchen had a bit of trouble keeping up with the dinner time peak. Even the bread took ages to come out! But fortunately, everything was worth waiting for 👌🤤😋😍. . First up: snacks - liver parfait, cucumber. Delicious way to start the meal 😋😋. . Southern king prawn, raw scallop, sea grapes, ice plant, native finger lime, umami mayonnaise: the prawn was super nicely done, but I think the other elements to the dish were so special! Really loved everything! . Jerusalem artichoke and sheep's milk fetta salad: super nice combination of flavours. Very nice dish! . Sourdough bread made with locally sourced and milled whole wheat: lovely bread with great tasting butter! . Roasted potatoes: can't go wrong with potatoes 😅😅😅. . Master stock pork cheek and scallop: omg this dish was just fantastic!! Soooo yummy!! The pork was incredibly tender, and the scallop was just perfect 👌😋😍🤤. . Lamb shoulder pressé with roasted parsnip: the lamb was super super tender and great flavours! Great dish! . Native peach, almond and caramelised white chocolate bavarois: wow what a beautifully presented dish! And so delicious too! . Local pears, glazed puff, chickpea dacquoise, wattleseed mousse: I always like pears in any dessert dish, and that's definitely the case here. The only thing that I thought might improve the dish was to add some ice cream. The combination of hot and cold would've been really good!

Helpful and friendly staff. A good selection of beers fresh on tap with all the beers being well crafted. A lot of thought placed into the food for a unique dining experience. A very laid back experience in a beautiful rustic venue with a nice view of the surrounding hills. Cannot comment on the wine selection as I did not try it.

Had lunch here on Sat 23/10/21. The whole experience was superb: the food was sublime, the staff were friendly, polite and particularly knowledgable about the best wines to have with the meals. Not a cheap place but you get what you pay for. The free appetizers was a nice touch.

We have throughly enjoyed celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary with a three-course menu with one of us having it with a paired wine. The service was outstanding with friendly and knowledgeable staff, including an on-site sommelier. Everything starting from fresh, homemade sourdough bread to dessert was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. The combinations of Australian and locally grown ingredients were spot on. My favourite entree was shiitake dim sims with a spicy sauce and my husband enjoyed his chicken sausage with mulberry jam and fresh figs. Our mains were lamb that was perfectly tender and mulloway with mussels. It was the first time I've ever tried mussels - they were cooked perfectly and complimented the whole dish. The jus was well-balanced and the fish was tender with a crispy skin. Our desserts were cherry ice cream with a biscuit that was beautiful and passion fruit bomb that looked amazing. Overall, a beautiful setting for a special occasion. A hidden gem on the way to McLaren Vale. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all staff for a wonderful experience.

Easily accessible, Victor’s place is a definite for the beer enthusiasts. Not that I am myself but my partner and his friend were super excited to sit and taste many of their craft beers. I was just very happy enjoying the beautiful surroundings and sitting by the fire to warm up.

Visited Victors Place for the first time today for my husbands first Father’s day with our 8 week old. As soon as we walked in, the staff were so lovely & knowledgable. When we were seated they were sure to make sure we had space for our pram & also made us aware of the whereabouts of the change table if needed. Owner took the time to welcome you to the restaurant and explained how they support SA businesses that compliment their restaurant/winery. The servers took extra special time to explain the source of the food and how each pairing of wine complemented each dish. My partner and I will be coming back to dine but also to enjoy a gorgeous wine, beer or gin in the delightful surroundings.

Simply Beautiful! We went to Victors Place yesterday (20/12/20) for my husband's end of year lunch and were absolutely blown away. Just stunning from the inside to the view outside but what truly nails it is the outstanding service, food and wine. A huge shout out to the hostess Katherine who made us feel the most welcome and comfortable I think I've ever been in any venue I've been to and the rest of her staff mirror her lead to the letter. The food is fresh, full of unique tastes and top notch quality. We will most certainly be going back to this little gem. If I could give them 10 stars I would.

Truly awesome wine, food and staff (Rebecca our waitress was exceptional). The food was so delicious and as well balanced as the divine wines. The building has been lovingly restored, it and the view are stunning. Rebecca and all the staff were so passionate about the local produce used to create the wonderful foods and wine. Great experience! The beers were very good, the food amazing and the view of the hills beautiful. The Gose beer was the best I've tried recently and the IPA super drinkable. We had an assortment of appetizers all of which had great flavor and presentation. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the beer tasting was $10 for very small amount. However, they do give $10 food credit so it worked out for us. I'd definitely go back here if I could but I was on a visit from Canada 🇨🇦

I met up with two friends at Victor's Place for lunch last week. Where do I begin? Everything we experienced was absolutely out-of-this- world from the warm greeting I received from staff when I arrived to the ambience of the restaurant (formerly an old, abandoned limestone barn) and most importantly the gorgeous food. The three of us ordered the free range pork tenderloin which quite literally melted in the mouth. Served with buttered carrots, onion and horseradish in a very tasty jus it was a more than ample serve. However we had ordered sides of hasselback potatoes (so crispy!) and also the broccoli tops in a sourdough crumb with pecorino. Yum, yum! I do not usually eat bread when at a restaurant, but the complimentary bread was impossible to resist. We could not manage a dessert, much as we would have liked to. The coffee is excellent. The menu is not pages long, but offers a lovely variety - perfectly adequate. Next time I visit I have set my sights on the dry aged Scotch fillet with pepper sauce and would also like to experience the wine produced on site. The prices are high if you want to compare them to lunch at a pub. The three of us agreed the price we paid for our lunch at Victor's was well worth it. Thank you to the owners, Kathrin and husband, for bringing such quality to the Fleurieu area. Congratulations to head chef Jesse. Cannot wait to return.

Wow!! It far exceeded my expectations. We tried the beer and wine flights. Both were well balanced throughout and showed distinct flavour characteristics of each varietal. Well worth the experience. The food was outstanding and deserving of 5 stars and on par with regional favourites like the Salopian and D’Arenberg. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable without being imposing. Not enough food. Very tiny delicate serves. Prawn entree is 1 prawn!! We had the full degustation menu with matching wines and even after all the courses I made toast when I got home. With a degustation menu you still have to pay for sides in addition to. So when you add in bread and side veg its very expensive. Even with extra sides, still not enough food. Kmart and Target crockery used.

Awesome, not too many places have it all with such a great location to boot. The beers that were on tap when I was there were fantastic and all brewed in house, being in McLaren Vale or very nearby the wines are almost guaranteed to be delicious. The building itself is a converted shearing shed or something similar, a lot of hard work has gone into making it the place it is today.

This was truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. When I found out they had only been open four months I was floored. I grew up outside New York City and have dined at some really great restaurants there. Hands down, The food at Victor’s Place rivaled some of the best in New York...and beyond! Thankfully I went hungry because the group I was with shared nearly everything on the menu. I know it’s not easy on the kitchen to produce everything on the menu and pace it perfectly but these guys nailed the timing and each dish arrived beautifully presented, piping hot, and most importantly, full of flavor and finesse. While nothing disappointed, standouts were the sweetbreads, kangaroo, savory churros, and gnocchi. In my book, no meal is complete without perfectly paired wine. I started with a wine flight which was presented on a board with spots for all six glasses plus a bowl of seasoned nuts which was a nice touch. Tasting notes accompanied the board which was a clever way of educating the customer while letting them sip at their own pace. Each wine was well crafted and I plan to return to purchase a few bottles. We chose the Chardonnay to pair with dinner which is not usually my first choice, but theirs was not big and oaky - much more elegant and balanced. A friend of mine sampled their newly released Berliner Weisse and while I’m usually not partial to beer, this was easy to drink with a hint of sour cherry - not at all sweet or overpowering. For beer drinkers, the craft selection is worth a trip. I wish we had saved room for dessert because the table next to us did and it looked amazing. We overheard sounds of obvious dining pleasure as they cleared their plates. Next time we’ll be sure to save room...because there absolutely will be a next time!

Having had a birthday the day before and having the same name, Victor. We decided that our families share the experience the following day, Sunday. We booked a table ( 6 adults and 4 children) and were made welcome from the beginning. The food was original, well presented and very moreish. The boutique brewed beers and wines were most enjoyable. I would recommend the flight samples to find your favourite drink. Well done Victor's Place and staff which were attentive to our table and a special thanks to Kathrin. It can only get better. We were very fortunate to have the wonderfully warm and welcoming owner Kathrin take us through the wines, beer and the story of how Victor's Place came to be. Such a gem of a place! Alan was the winemaker at d'Arenberg and his innate attention to detail and flair for wine making is evident in a wine list that displays variety - hello Semillion Fiano, an elegant dry rosé Grenache and a perfect GSM. Blink and you will miss it ... but pull over to the character filled heritage building you will be blessed with the bounty of an amazing menu, wine, beer and hospitality.

What a lovely place, the staff are beyond friendly and helpful. Beautiful backdrop of the hills and local wines and onsite brew beer. Just need a few more food options, snack types while drinking. I will return.
