Get the negative out of the way first. The place is noisy, but not much they can do about that. The lady that took our order did it all by memory, impressive, till she forgot our drinks. The table at the end of the meal took a little longer to clear than I would have liked. The positive, great food well cooked and plenty of it. For me the snails were a standout. Would have no trouble recommending, or going back to try a few more other dishes. For me it was reasonably priced, considering restaurants of this quality. Well done guys.

Have eaten here a few times. The food is always good , however , it's so noisey that you can't have a sensible conversation. The other negative is the service. Sadly , every time we have been , it's been inattentive ( table not completely cleaned between courses), slow, occasionally lazy ( waiter couldn't be bothered stepping around table to set a dish down, instead trying to pass plate over guests heads) and forgetful. We had to ask multiple times at then end for the Lebanese coffee ( which took nearly 20mins to get ). I wouldn't recommend coming on the weekend if you are a family and / or you want to simply hear each other talk ( it's not family friendly and the noise is deafening at times ). Good to come with friends if you want a night out.

I always enjoy my visit here. The food is awesome and the views are just wonderful sitting at the river side. The tables outside are designed for tall people so I struggled with the stools, as did my friends. Otherwise, the staff were very helpful and our table of 6 left very happy and full :)

Pros: Great options, fresh hummous, tasty food. Sitting outside was jst perfect, it does get a bit too loud inside if u want to have a conversation with ur people. Awarma was the winner for me! Must try! Cons: Its pricey for the portion sizing, everything feels like its carefully weighed (skewers), hence it gave me an incomplete feeling. I grew up in the Middle East where the chicken pieces where nice and generous while being cheap. Toum was too strong on the lemon but it could have been that specific batch.

Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday lunch at Byblos on Sunday with a small party of 6. We went with the banquet option for ease. I am A vegetarian while the rest of the guests eat meat, it was no problem catering to this at all. Everyone was incredibly happy with the food and portion size. We had so much left over and were able to take this home to graze on for the rest of the day. The food timing was great too giving us enough time to relax between the starter and main course. The main thing I want to comment on was the staff. I was so impressed with the service from the lovely girl who waited our table and the staff member that took the payment. You could tell that they really wanted us to have a great time and were super efficient. I wish I got their names! I will comment that the buffet menu on the website says ‘tailored options available’ but we were unable to substitute the fish dish. I believe this may only be for pre planned functions. It was absolutely no issue though as we had plenty of food. Just something to be aware of as it is a bit misleading. Highly recommend! Great food, atmosphere, service and location:)

Lovely Portside Lebanese restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed the platter for two, which came with pastries, grilled skewers, tabouli and super tasty hommus. We treated ourselves to the mocktails - Don's Day Off with the passionfruit is the best! The restaurant does get a bit loud like other reviews say, and the service was a bit slim - the team seemed run off their feet and it was a bit hard to get their attention at times, but they were very friendly and trying their best. First time dining here, so it was nice to have the platter and try a bit of everything. Now we know what our top picks are, we will be back to eat a little less main so we can fit the delicious sounding desserts in. Thanks for a lovely evening Team Byblós!

Byblos has been a favourite of ours since long before our 10yo daughter was born and the food is consistently amazing with quality staff like Eli and our old favourites like Taliah, Jack and Rob who moved on with the group. We love the food, the vibe and as I (and now daughter) always tell people “the best chicken skewers in Brisbane”

We had a last minute cancellation for our team Christmas dinner at another restaurant. Byblos were so helpful and accomodating to fit us in on such short notice. We had a banquet as we were a large group and the dietary changed were easily accommodated for. There was SO much food and the restaurant had a great vibe and service was great. Thank you Rachel for being so easy to work with and so helpful on the night. Everyone had a fabulous time and honestly made everything so easy for a last minute booking!

One of the best bars in Brisbane. The cocktail list is a one of a kind featuring classic and signature cocktails - highly recommended the violet martini I promise your tastebuds will thank you. Beautiful inside high table and booth style seating options and outside seating with the view of the Brisbane river. The food is to die for with a vibrant Lebanese menu you won’t find anywhere else in town that won’t break the bank. I can’t thank Elijah enough for looking after me every time I visit you are truly an asset to Byblos.

Excellent service and a good ambience. Overall wonderful, authentic lebanese food. However, for the prices and menu suggestions (particularly regarding 'shared' meals) portion sizes could be larger. I comprehend this could be a regular cultural apportionment, but coming from a European background with somewhat similar cuisine that does not seem to be an appropriate excuse.

Honestly, the short fall of this restaurant is the service. The two times I have been here it has taken a long time after being seated that we were acknowledged by the staff. I had to ask for table water after an extended period both times. And on the second occasion we were not given sufficient bottles (1 bottle for 9 pax) to fill up everyone's glass. The food is fantastic and the cocktails are to die for, but each time I have found myself wanting when it comes to the service. If they could improve this, then it would be 5 stars easily.

Authentic Mediterranean food! Arrived and Brisbane at night and we wanted a small fancy place for dinner. The place is relatively crowded and hyped up. Many locals I assume, came for drinks. Food was really nice, especially the hummus dip. Worth the price tag and the visit!

Nothing to say... firstly the staff, they are always great in special (Elijah, Gemma and Salvador) then the food flavour (congrats cheffy) you caught the true taste of the middle east, dishes presentation great and finally the environment, warm light, soft and chill out music. Lunch on a Friday for 2. Table we initially were shown to was not great but they happily accommodated us at a better one. Food was seriously amazing. For starters, the Babaganoush was creamy and smoky and was lovely with the bread. For mains, we ordered from the Mezat menu. The potato dish, name escapes me, was lemony and spicy and the best thing ever. The calamari was crunchy and plentiful. The halloumi was thick and cooked to perfection. My companion had an excellent glass of Aix, a beautiful rosè from Provence. I opted for water and that would be my only complaint. Our glasses were filled when we arrived and then towards the end of the meal we had to hunt down more. All in all though, a wonderful lunch. I would highly recommend Byblos.

The food is really good and their dips (specifically hummus) is amazing and I can't wait to go back to have more! The service was really good and the staff were all super friendly! The only critique I have is the size of the Baklava! It was literally bite sized! I was out to dinner with two friends and we ordered the Baklava to share and it came out with only three little 3cm squares! For the price I thought it was a bit expensive and not a very good portion! I'd rather have more!!! Amazing flavour, but the portions were silly!

Hadn’t been here for a while following a few visits with quite average service. We decided to give it another chance as we are local and felt something different. We were welcomed by Connell who looked after us all night with impeccable service and made our night a wonderful experience and the food was all very fresh and tasty, would highly recommend the beef sharwama. As a coeliac I had a heap of wonderful options. We will definitely be back sooner now.

Fantastic snails! Was surprised to see them as part of the Lebanese menu, but gave them a go. Garlicky and buttery. Definitely worth trying for those who enjoy escargot 🐌!! The skewers are well cooked, in particular the chicken. Tender on the skewer, not too dry. Dips were flavoursome. Only wished my appetite was bigger. Overall enjoyable experience apart from my date and I sat on the corner sofas seats, wish they matched and we ended up sitting on the same side. :)

Absolute treat! The food was a real surprise for someone who previously did not eat Lebanese cuisine... but is now a ‘convert’. I’m assured by my better half, who has eaten Lebanese food before and is a ‘foodie’ - that’s its one of the best restaurants for this cuisine and it didn’t cost a fortune - no one walked away hungry! We went for leisurely lunch on a Sunday, located on the waterfront, great atmosphere, not crowded, excellent service and a good selection of wines / beverages (again at a reasonable price) rounded out a great dining experience. One tip - if you want to see the Brisbane River, pick a date when a cruise ship is not docked - as it will block the view and there’s a bit more noise than would usually be. There’s a lot of good restaurants in this area, but this is one to prefer if you have to pick. And if you’ve been hesitant to eat Lebanese food before - give this one a chance, get the share plates, and have your mind changed!

I like this place, my fav cocktail is the violet martini. Such fun and authentic decor, so cosy and nice for a casual drink. We like getting the dips platter to enjoy with a casual drink. The staff are lovely and helpful, and they do some fun promotions. A gorgeous place at sunset at Portside that’s for sure.

Byblos is an enjoyable place to go for a meal. The service was exceptional. Gotta love a place that gives you meals with dips like hummus and garlic sauce, and unlimited bread to soak it all up. That always seems to be something you can’t get enough of when you go to eastern Mediterranean places, and this place has you covered. The wings were tiny bits a lemony goodness that left you craving for more, and the lamb fillet shish was tender as “fork”. The shish tawook was a little underwhelming compared to other places I’ve been to before, but not enough to disappoint me, and the majority of the table seemed unfazed by it. If you gotta impress a certain someone with a tasty meal, this is the place for you. Great ambiance. Excellent service. Just what you expect from a restaurant at that price.

We enjoyed the food, although they were a bit altered and not really authentic Lebanese. The Kibbeh and the Mezza side salads were stale. But lahm bi ajin was really fresh and yum. Lamb shoulder was divine, highly recommended if you like slow cooked meat. All in all, Byblos is a place we'll go back to. Let's acknowledge the cheerful staff as well.

Great food in a beautiful part of Brisbane. The share plates style means it is great for groups but I went with just my mum and we enjoyed this way of eating as we got to sample a lot of the menu. Plenty of gluten-free options and I had a cocktail too which was delicious - think it was called guava lava. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Amazing, AMAZING! We booked one of the middle eastern lounge spaces for a Hens Long lunch celebration. The space was so lovely, with the ability to draw sheer curtains across for a bit of privacy. The events staff were amazing from the initial enquiry through to locking in our event for us. They were great with sharing suggestions on food and cocktails to meet dietary requirements of the group. The Cocktail on arrival was a lovely touch and set the tone for our get together. The food was equally delicious and great portions for our sized group. The saddest thing about the day was when we realised that our time was coming to an end. Sam our sever for the day was so attentive and nothing was an issue, fantastic service. We will definitely be back again. Thank you team Byblos!

We LOVED this place. Our first visit there, it was one of those lastminute bookings for my brothers 18th birthday lunch with the fam. We were on the riverside enjoying the outdoor views and breeze. The food was so DELICIOUS we went home with a few extra kgs im sure..lol and take home containers too because the portions were bigger then we expected. The service was AMAZING! The hardest part of a visit is deciding which delicious dish to order (but you can take the easy option and order a platter for two or a banquet for bigger groups!). Do yourself a favour, and at least order the trio of dips and bread - you won't be disappointed!

Brilliant food and drinks. Pretty much everything is made to share, so remember that when ordering dessert! We didn't know and got 4 servings between 2 people XD The atmosphere is great as well, with lovely glass decorations and a view of the river. Been twice already and I'll keep coming back. We had a ball at Byblos. We sat outside and the weather was perfect, not cold, not windy, just a very pleasant Brisbane Sunday afternoon. I have to say the food was awesome. My wife and I naively ordered the platter for two and a starter dip. Way too much food, but so delicious we just had to eat it. Not going to spoil it, but highly recommend the platter for two, its a feast for the eyes and the tastebuds. We will definitely be coming back.

Came here at the recommendation of friends and to try the kibbeh nayeh (in photograph) and in a nutshell I enjoyed myself most thoroughly. It was clean, wait staff were informative and knowledgeable with just enough attentiveness - the food was entertaining as well as true to the authenticity of Lebanese food and the venue decor was lovely. There is a good ratio of indoor and outdoor dining with cubicles available too. I dined with my friend and we had the 'Platter for two' @ $79 which showcased a pleasing variety of dishes picked from around the whole menu. The venue is opened out to the Brisbane River and lends a pretty backdrop of river-life. We booked our table for dinner for 6pm (it got really busy as the night progressed and we booked on a Wednesday!). All in all I thought Byblos was affordable and a perfect place to try authentic Lebanese fare with good hospitality. TIP: If you drive and park here at Portside don't forget you can validate your parking ticket here for 3 hours worth of parking :)

Great cocktails. Dj music could have been better for my liking on a Sunday, but can't complain - it was free! Loved the addition of the sax. Would like some jazz and blues with the sax next time. I ordered the tapas sausages - they were quite salty, apparently this is how it's served. Need to try other dishes to review the food. Good location being by the river and they validate parking!

What a great place to celebrate Mothers Day! Excellent location overlooking the Brisbane river, very attentive but unobtrusive staff, fantastic cocktail menu and the food! Wow. For the 6 of us we ordered a mass of small Mezat dishes. They were wonderful. I'll never forget the taste of those cheesy Rekakat pastries. Being Mother's Day and with COVID restrictions we only had the table for 2 hours and we lingered for as long as possible. The staff needed our table but didn't pressure us to leave. Very friendly. I'll definitely go back.

Sublime!! I frequented this place back in 2010 and 2011. But in 2019, when I brought a bunch of friends here (6 pax) it remained to be as amazing as it always has been. Great Mediterranean/Lebanese type cuisine, plus brilliant bar/service that blows your socks off! I'm serious. In 2019, kudos to Dio and the Irish waitress from Tullamore, who made me the best damn Irish coffee in the history of the universe (looked like a Guinness!) #no #jokes AMAZING!!! 6 out of 5 (12 outta 10!)

We had to request several times before our table was cleared and wait sooo long to get a desert menu. The mixed platter of desert was good if you have more than 4. The food is good but the service let us down.

Then had to review the bill 3 times due to being charged for all the beers they didn't have. Seemed to have plenty of skilled staff available, they just didn't seem to be on the same page.

Definately wouldn't write this restaurant off, will definately be returning!

Coming from a middle eastern background, I just want to say that, in addition to an exceptional meal, we had a delightful waiter. He had a good balance of friendliness and efficiency - He was also kind enough to provide us with exotic drinks on the house!! He recognized that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. He and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. I am very pleased with this restaurant, surely a 5 star for me. I would even say it was one of the BEST Mediterranean food i have had in Brisbane.

It's a really lovely weekend lunch venue with many fresh, tasty menu items. I can recommend the shanklish and the halloumi salad which is a big salad ideal for sharing. Yes, it will take a while to get a drink at the bar no matter if it's a Saturday or a Wednesday night. That said, they have an excellent cellar, my partner has enjoyed some fine, hard to find American whiskeys and last New Years Eve they served Woodford as their house bourbon which was included in the drinks package.

Although the food was great, it became apparent that if you were not one of the lovely young things then you were not as valued a customer. We were overlooked a number of times at the bar for pretty young things. Upon leaving we were followed up the street and asked to produce a receipt for the meal and drinks we had paid for. When we complained about this humiliating treatment to the manager Sam, he seemed unconcerned, despite the fact that we had been there an hour after paying for our meal, and that you can't leave the bar without paying for drinks. All of this was after being looked up and down with a distasteful sneer. Overall the food and drinks are great, although the atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. After spending over $300, we were treated with little respect by members of the staff or even the manager. There is better food in West End where the atmosphere is more welcoming.

I usually love going to Byblos for happy hour after a movie on Sundays. Yesterday I got there at about 6.15 pm and asked if it was still happy hour. This would indicate I want to participate in Happy hour. I was told that it was and selected two wines which were poured. When tendered the bill I queried the amount and was told they weren’t on the “selected” list. I said that there was no “selected” list in the wine menu and no “selected” list on display at the bar which would indicate that all drinks were covered by happy hour. This is very misleading. The staff member checked, agreed and apologised. I was polite enough not to request that she repour two perfectly good drinks and no happy hour discount was offered, so I would suggest that Byblos be polite enough to make it clear which drinks are covered at Happy Hour. We did go on to order meals but no adjustment was made to the bill. I’ll go somewhere else at Portside next time.

Firstly, the quality of the food at this establishment was divine and it exceeded my expectations. I was disappointed by the condescending behaviour displayed by the bar tender who raised his eyebrows at me to indicate he was ready to take my order, didn't reply to my question about the wine I ordered and grasped my change tightly until I said, 'thanks' as I was concurrently greeting my date. This was not followed by a 'your welcome' either. That type of condescending attitude does not sit well with me and certainly does not encourage me to return. As a consequence of this mans behaviour, I did not order more drinks. And, that was a shame because the cocktails looked amazing. Something to consider Byblos. I may give this place another visit, but with so many restaurants competing in one area, attitude and customer service matters to customers that would be likely to return.

Finally we were seated in the - um more casual area? where is was way too bright and 2 of the party were sat inbetween 2 joined tables, these tables were different hights so we basicall had 2 to a small table. the staff were ok, and we didnt have one set waiter for the night, we didn't mind this. i did mind having to ask for the drinks menu! that should be the first thing that comes out The food...well it was all very oily and i think for what you got overpriced, maybe if we were in the proper resturant part I wouldn't have minded the price as the atmosphere was nicer - not just like sitting in a take away/ cheap resturant. The meat was amazing, however the fried idems were not, they pretty much had no flavour and weere super oily. Now for the good parts. The bar staff are cute! the cocktails are yummy, and the bar/ outside/ and resturant part are all pretty. I don't know if i would go here again, unless it was just for some drinks. they were around $16 which i think is a pretty good price. Oh and i believe the girl on the phone was - grace? she wasn't very pleasent at all. or helpful, its not an exclusive place and shes isn't anyone special. she is someone that makes resorvations. Grace need to work on her customer service skills also a tip: when someone has specified they have called twice for a booking, perhaps offer them a free round of drinks at the bar while you wait and then seat them on the crappy bright corner. especially when it is a party of 6 and thats a good $700 + spend. don't just leve them to ask you what to do. disapointed, the place has so much potential

This is our go to restaurant and bar. Because we are parents of two kids and rarely get a night off we always know that coming to byblos is never going to disappoint. They are on point EVERY time. Liam is the most amazing bar tender he gives Fabulous service with such knowledge on cocktails and hits the nail on the head every drink!
