Excellent food. Very reasonable prices. They also have a sushi train.

Good prices and reliable. In my one week trip to Brisbane I went there 3 times and that’s the best compliment I can give to a place.
M. h.
😋 food my kids enjoy the place,,,just the parking only two hrs not enough time to shop at Woolworths
D.
I have been coming here for years. It's Japanese and it's reliably the same. Tasty if a bit simple but that's what you would expect walking in. I love their ramens and the range of options available. Mostly friendly staff.
Of all the times I have been, i was unhappy once and my meal was replaced and then they didn't charge me for it.
I will continue to return.
Great before a movie to fill up and avoid some of those lollies

I’m a regular at this sushi train. There is always a good variety of fresh sushi and they recently added delicious poke bowls, which are filling and great for take away, since they are packed in small containers. Another section of the restaurant is the typical restaurant layout (without the train) where you can order hot rice and ramen dishes.
B. B.
I ordered some great sushi and sashimi via Uber eats on several occasions during quarantine. Thank goodness for these guys. Fresh, good proportions and wonderful flavors. Recommended highly.
T. M.
I have come here each Friday for the last 9 weeks and the service is same each and every time. Food is great. Good selection of drinks
C. R.
Good sushi. Second visit in recent months. Friendly staff are accommodating allowing you to choose where you prefer to sit. Can order off the menu if it’s not on sushi train and will deliver as soon as prepared which I thought was great service.
Concern is hygiene of glasses of water brought to table; cups have foul taste on rim like they are not washed properly. Did let staff know so hopefully this has been noted.
A.
Quite pricey but decent servings. The sushi itself is alright however was not as fresh as we would've hoped for the price each dish was marked. However, the place is a good location to have a quick bite with family and friends.
C.
As far as Japanese goes this is average and exactly what you expect.
They have a really nice range of choices on their menu from noodle soups and dons to sushi. There is a choice of sitting at the sushi train or on a table with a separating wall between creating a choice of two dining experiences depending on what you feel like.
The food was middle of the line, not over priced and reasonable portions. The staff were very friendly.

Food is great Price is reasonable .

Have tried a few Japanese restaurants in the area the past week and whilst this place isn't so fancy, it's great for a reliable Japanese feed... The entries are great value and the mains are also decent. Good mix of sushi train, Al la cart and well priced.
C. M.
10/10. Delicious and fresh food with quick service if you order something off the menu.
R.
If you wanna grab a quick bite before watching a movie then this is a quick choice. But, if you are passionate about Sushi and Sashimi then go somewhere else to avoid disappointment. This place used to be top notch but lately became average. Flavors are not as strong as before and not appealing as before as well. Staff are nice but to me look like they are overwhelmed in work. There is still space to pick up and enhance. No need to post photos as there is no special dish.
m.
I'm giving this place 5 stars because of some of the 1 star reviews that people have made just for fun. Honestly the service is great. They even took time out of their hands to tech me how to correctly use chopsticks as I was never taught how to. Haven't tried the sushi train yet though as I didn't have money at the time so this review will be updated. My fiance and I liked it there and to the people that said you got HIV, grow up. If you legitimately did you shouldn't just be writing a review you should be reporting it to somebody so it can be investigated. Will be coming here again though once I'm in Brisbane next.
K. O.
Great variety, so fresh. Great quality food. Happy family...
K. M.
One of the better sushi train style restaurants, the sushi is very fresh so well worth it in my opinion. One gripe I have from a food safety point of view is that almost all the plastic plate covers are cracked, with some of them missing bits of plastic, this could easily end up in someone food.
P.
Been visiting here for many years. Ginga staff are almost always quick to offer you a seat and ask if you'd like to order anything. Sushi is kept very fresh and the selection is normally pretty good. Enough seats that it rarely gets too crowded.
J. W.
Consistently great food. Great price. Just needs a greater selection during the quiet periods, coz I can't be arsed ordering of the menu 😋👍
Always have an enjoyable experience and a really good price, too!
M. R. W.
While we were in Brisbane for 2 weeks we would happily walk to this sushi train (5 times). Very clean. Lots of attentive staff. Ok priced but the customer service was 10/10. {their Bubble Teas were great too}
M. R.
This Sushi place is a big favourite! It's is very large, and has booths that can seat large parties, as well as single seating around most of the train. They also offer takeaway, and delivery via UberEats. The are usually tons of dishes on the train but if something is not there you can usually get it made and brought out to you. There is also a quieter dining area for those that do not wish to eat from the Sushi train.
J. B. S.
Very mixed feelings about this place. The food was alright it was not bad. Price is decent ish. However there are alot of flies around which is quite annoying/disturbing. Even saw a fly trapped in the sushi plates.... Other than that service is very polite and good.
J.
Cute place to go on a date or something but expensive & not a huge variety of plates. Lots of mains, but you need to ask for the menu.
I prefer sushi edo
Parking is on the street if you're lucky, otherwise its paid parking in 'secure park' type paid parking areas.
C. R.
This place is so good!!
I fell in love with Japanese cuisine after travelling abroad a handful of times, needless to say this restaurant pleasantly surprised me and satisfied my cravings! I opted for a table service meal rather than the sushi train.
Pricing is very reasonable, portions are generous and lovely staff.
A. W.
V cool atmosphere with projector playing random anime with subtitles, but the subtitles are in Japanese. Sushi plates are great, reasonably priced nicely portioned, fresh an they got some weird plates to which is fun.
B. C.
The sushi train is decent and convenient for seeing movies. The dine in menu I've had a few times for lunch on a weekday and the service is quick, food is nice, and prices are reasonable.
R. R.
Place is comfy and spacious. Staffs were really helpful. Everything we had (gyudon, katsu curry, karage curry, takoyaki, and a few plates of sushi from the sushi belt) was good. But the ramen one was bland :/
Otherwise, service and taste are good. Portion was generous.
M. O.
Decent option of sushi. You pay per plate, so also good, if you're not that hungry. Very nice local with friendly staff. :)
J. B.
Wonderful experience at a sushi train, some coloured plates little pricey but definetly top of its range. There's also plenty of main dishes you can purchase, I got #51 an omelette with noddles and such inside. Very cool, these meals also aren't as expensive as you'd think, more value from a meal then say 4 sushi plates. But depends what you come for at the end of the day. Also try nab one of the limited booths available! Much easier to converse & sare food if with a group or partner.
S.
Perhaps not the cheapest place, nor the largest variety but the sushi rolls still taste pretty nice,
I would recommend providing a little bit of sweet chilli sauce for free however...

An excellent place to eat sushi and other Japanese dishes. You get a 10% discount if you show them your movie ticket for the cinema next door. You have the option of sitting either at the sushi train or in the regular dining area. Easily accessible via public transport -- near South Bank and South Brisbane train stations pus the Cultural Centre.
J. B. S.
Very mixed feelings about this place. The food was alright it was not bad. Price is decent ish. However there are alot of flies around which is quite annoying/disturbing. Even saw a fly trapped in the sushi plates.... Other than that service is very polite and good.
A. H.
Take a seat and your right to go. Terrific selection and perfect for a quick lunch for business types or or movie goers (next door). I eat here once a week. Attentive friendly staff.
H. S. (. G.
Went there with my boyfriend and little sister. Food was amazing and had a large variety. I also loved the sushi train too. I would definitely go back there.
K. E.
As a venue, it isn't particularly fancy but the food is consistently good and options are well priced.
S.
This is the only place I will go to eat sushi!! I drive all the way from the Gold Coast once or twice a week just for this amazing restaurant. Staff are incredible and the food is delicious.
K. M.
One of the better sushi train style restaurants, the sushi is very fresh so well worth it in my opinion. One gripe I have from a food safety point of view is that almost all the plastic plate covers are cracked, with some of them missing bits of plastic, this could easily end up in someone food.
C. F.
I love a Sushi Train! Staff here are quite attentive and the sushi is good. A great variety of both hot and cold items.
R. M.
Love it! Right next to the cinemas makes it an easy in and out before you catch a movie. They also serve gelato that you can take away with you. Some of the best sushi you'll find in Brisbane!
The only downside is everytime we have been here I have to constantly ask them for water. They don't like to give you a carafe and they only give you a tiny glass.
All in all it's great sushi with a wide range all ready to go. It's very fresh as well.
A. Y.
I'm a regular here, love their sushi and selection. great deals and prices as well. great for small groups, amazing service and atmosphere
C. F.
Quick easy fresh meal. Bright friendly staff.
E. S.
The food looked good but we were offered a booth with a baby seat only after we had sat down and taken our first plate of food and ordered a drink were we told that we couldnt have a baby seat. So we left after 1 plate and a drink. Very annoying.
B. B.
Sushi isn't up to the standard you pay for HOWEVER the ramen here was awesome. I only go back for the ramen now and will continue to do so.
I'd still eat the sushi here though before I ever went back to BWS Woolworths Everton Park on Stafford Road. That place is disgusting and makes me sick.
J. W.
What you'd expect from a sushi train, been around since I moved to Brisbane and still going back when around the area. We usually stick to whatever is on the train, and service is always pretty speedy if your on your way to a movie.
D.
This is a safe option for Japanese food when in Southbank. The meals are good, but not amazing. For excellent Japanese choices you'll have to go a little bit further in towards the City. I suggest you park underground as trying to get street parking can be a frustrating experience.
D. L.
Right next to the movies on grey street so pretty busy, good food, fresh, staff happy and helpful, when you order food it doesn't take that long to get to you. Prices range from $3.50 - $7.00 specials.
G. S.
Great Chicken Katsu Curry! Usually just empty enough to feel like you're got some privacy in any part of the restaurant. Servers are great and friendly, and value isn't terrible either.
C. C.
A nice sushi bar with a range of food and dessert which is rare in sushi bars.
I found it a bit pricy tho which i think it is because of location of restaurant/size of each serving.
H. S. (. G.
Went there with my boyfriend and little sister. Food was amazing and had a large variety. I also loved the sushi train too. I would definitely go back there.
E. R.
Always good service and great for kids who want to try lots of things. I always take my Babysitting kids here. Sushi is fresh and no extra charge to have it made specially.
-. -. (.
Tasty food with great service and fair price.
A. H.
Take a seat and your right to go. Terrific selection and perfect for a quick lunch for business types or or movie goers (next door). I eat here once a week. Attentive friendly staff.

Ginga is a Japanese restaurant with options for everyone, even my personal favourite the Japanese Parmy ( Chicken katsu dowsed in white sauce and cheese ). They have some solid traditional options, and a bunch of very westernised dishes. There's 2 sections, a sushi-train sitting area and a more restaurant-y section, with a bar.
Service is prompt, most staff appeared to be native Japanese speakers with good English skills. The food has always been to a good standard, and is definitely a safe option for Japanese in the city.
One gripe, the pork buns appear to have been microwaved like the ones you can buy in Woolies.
S. K.
My favourite Sushi Place in Brisbane.
The staff are amazing, the sushi is decent sizes and super yummy! Reasonably priced :D LOVE IT!
P.
Cozy place to go to for a quick bite just for dinner or after the movies. Good table a la carte menu or take what you like off the sushi train.
T. L.
Food is okay with reasonable price.
But I don’t like how they placed chopsticks on the table instead of a plate or something because it doesn’t look clean
T. T.
Amazing variety of food at a reasonable price. If you go here you need to at least try the pork buns, just remember to peel the paper off the bottom first.
T. K.
The sushi is always fresh. The staff are nice. It would be nice to see a few.more vegetarian options on the menu
S.
This is the only place I will go to eat sushi!! I drive all the way from the Gold Coast once or twice a week just for this amazing restaurant. Staff are incredible and the food is delicious.
A. S.
Over all quite tasty, we had tuna sashmi, beef eye and sushi roll. But it could have been fresher, and honestly we have had better, so basically It was okay.
E. V.
Still the best sushi in southbank by de facto but it's like the drive is gone compared to previous years. Above average prices for just above average food
W. S.
They always make room when they can and the food is consistently very good. Although the Japanese guest I took there had never seen a dish they served Haha
B. W.
The food from the train can sometimes be a little bit not so fresh but if you sit down and order from their menu it's always pretty good.
C. P.
Good sushi but not really any gluten free dishes, as the vinegar they use may contain gluten. Shame
E. B.
Friendly service, well presented, tasty food. Good family friendly atmosphere and experience. Loved the Sushi train.
S. G.
Quick service and friendly staff are nice wild of food is another story. It doesn't taste fresh but it comes out quick.
R. Y.
Love the food, love the sushi. The baked seafood is delicious and the service is great! Nice place to hang out too.
S.
Expensive compared to some sushi restaurants but this train has some of the best variety and most carefully made sushi around. Worth the drop in for sure.
R. J.
Interesting eating option with a sushi go round on one side and a sit down restaurant on the other, really great prices for south bank - closer to city prices than the other $30 a head options close by in that area.
E. M.
Love it! Great sushi, fast and efficient staff. Great place for a quick meal or to sit and browse as the sushi slides past.
J. S.
Consistently good sushi, efficient and attentive service, 10% off if you watch a movie next door.
K. E.
As a venue, it isn't particularly fancy but the food is consistently good and options are well priced.
L. D.
Reasonably priced for a sushi train and yummy, fresh sushi. Don't go during peak hour or you might be waiting in line for a while.
J. E. L.
great service ,fresh sushi good variety me and my friends go often its the highlight of our week
G. T.
Food was nice, service was quick. There was alot of western influence in the food. I personally perfer the food to be more traditional. Over all it was good.
J. V.
It's average sushi at best
M. H.
Fresh and creative selection of sushi and nigiri complemented with toe tingling sake. Lovely and efficient staff 😋👍🏼
R. F.
I used to come here quite a lot, but I have found that while their sushi train has remained good, the quality of their restaurant food has diminished over time, while I think is quite sad.
M. W.
Reasonable sushi at a reasonable price in a good location. Ok for lunch, but not a place you would take a date
C.
A great place to grab something quick before, or after a movie. Very fast service and friendly staff. Highly recommend.
J.
Good food, friendly staff. Typical sushi train sort of setup.
M. C. M.
Good, but not everything was in the menu so I had to ask all the time what was in lots of plates
l. b.
I loved it, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was fun, I am definitely coming back again. 👍😊
Y. Z.
Decidedly average food. The rice they used was medium grain, not short grain. The chopsticks were the wrong shape (thick at the end instead of pointy).
B. G. D. C.
Love the ramen bowl. Delicious and good value for money. I always order through Deliveroo!
J. C.
My absolute favourite sushi place ever they've been incredible every time.
R. F.
Sushi is always a good choice, especially when they have a sushi train! Egg: good, nigiri: good, Aburi: so good!
E. S.
Good is great but sometimes the waiters don't reply or are short when I talk to them, probably a cultural difference
L. V.
Nice place. A little bit pricey for what you get but definitely a good meal.
T. P.
Nice venue, good food, good service but not enough variety of dishes going around on the sushi train
L. R.
Good food
L. K.
Always fresh and tasty. One of the best sushi restaurants in Brisbane. Not the cheapest.
N. W.
So delicious and very well priced. Would definitely go again!
J. B.
Friendly and quick service. Very yummy and fresh food. Highly recommend the duck ramen.
G. H. A. H.
Sushi on the belt didn't seem too fresh, but what I ordered from the kitchen was good
R. V.
Food is great and super affordable. However service could definitely improve!
I.
Friendly and efficient staff, every time I go and the food is always consistently delicious.
S. G.
Great sushi train with long train and big selection of nigiri, aburi, tempura, karaage and rolls as well as vegetarian options too.
B. L.
Great sushi a little on the pricey side but great service and food
J. A.
A great sushi bar to get good food quickly, especially if you've got a movie to catch!
Z. T.
Quick and easy, Suzuya/Suzuna/Susanna (lovely Japanese staff member who told me she was new) was awesome and a lovely introduction to the place.
G. V. D.
Seems some competition in the area are playing dirty with this restaurants rating. Been going here for years; no complaints!
S. A. H.
Service was quite good, food was not bad. Price was somewhat affordable too.
J. B.
The only issue I've ever had with this place is the sheer amount of food in a serving.
People are nice, the food is great.
J. R.
Didn't have the sushi, other food was ok, nothing special. Service wasn't that great either.
D. C.
Good value. Good sized meals. Service a little slow at time.

A great sushi shop. Always very good food and decent range.
B. R.
Been here about 4 times, love the place, good food, good value.

Relatively cheap compared to others in the area. However, the foods and service are nothing beyond the average.
I. L.
Went to the sushi train. Staff were very friendly and have us plenty of pickled ginger.
J. L.

Modern Japanese maintaining its usual flavours. Yum yum
C. M.
Love this place..always good food and good service😉
W. L.
Typical Japanese eatery with sushi train (you can also grab take away containers and pay quickly) or order a la carte. Ramen was mediocre but does come in different flavoured soups, sushi is better...and you can sneak the little containers into cinemas to eat in the movie :) They also make Bubble Tea. Good location, and outdoor seating as well which is great as the air conditioning is very cold.
A. S.
Loved the food and was reasonably priced.

(Translated) This Japanese restaurant is very good for lunch. $ 12 + $ 2 with canned drinks. Beef stew: The meat is unexpectedly fresh and meaty. I will finish it with three steaks and two dials. If the sauce is not overcooked, more it is good. Osaka fried noodles: fresh vegetables, the same problem, do not cook too much sauce, taste better. Maybe people here like juicy food and it is easy to get in.
