Comments of Harajuku Gyoza South Bank
N. J.
We had a sensational dinner here with all the weird and wacky gyoza combinations. They were actually very good! We loved the cheeseburger and buffalo wings one the best. We were served by the most personable and friendly staff member, Art-San, he really made our night.
S. O.
Really quirky place with lovely friendly staff - one of whom brought out pencils and colouring paper for the kids when they were getting fractious waiting for the food. The vege tempura was seriously crispy and I loved the dipping sauce. We tried the duck gyoza, pork gyoza and cheeseburger gyoza - all were good but the duck was a particular winner for me. Ended up with a Nutella gyoza on the house which was very satisfactory. We will return the next time we are in Brisbane!

This great little restaurant has been around for years and I understand why! Their pork and sweet miso poached dumplings are simply amazing! The food and fast and delicious.

Don’t think twice about it… GET THEM!!!!!! Mushroom karaage are delicious. So crunchy, juicy and packed with flavour
P.
The food is very good with complex flavours. I like the low pressure option of being able to order on your phone aswell. Good stuff!
M. P.
Loved almost everything we ordered, only drawback was the duck goyza - they were not good at all.
P. M.
Very mixed experience.
Their ordering app was very average.
Couldn't log into my existing account.
Had to recreate to get in and then the specials weren't on display.
Service was very mixed.
One dish came out in good time and the food was delicious.
Second dish which was ordered at the same time took much longer to come out and was slightly burnt.
Tried the seaweed beer, but sadly this was slightly flat.
Overall, won't be in a hurry to go back

Very happy with my first experience, it's a nice small place with incredible staff, very real Japanese experience.
They even do the calling you master business like the maids do in the anime's.
The food was very good, portions were pretty decent as well.
Chicken Katsu Don & Curry were the main dishes I had, and the green tea kit kat matcha ice cream gyoza.
I will definitely come back here again.
Very special thanks for Art-san for being such a great host during my lunch today. My 2nd visit to your restaurant.
Also thank you to the chefs for all the great food, way too much for my liking but it was all good.
I complained to TheFork people that I want to use $20 instead of $50 at places like yours.
Fine food, but the prices are the complete opposite of fine dining.
I don't like overeating to begin with, but it also makes me feel like a real cheapskate taking advantage of a restaurant like your own.
I love Japan, the people, manga, anime and cosplaying, makes me feel bad/guilty getting so much and giving so little in return.
Only just made double digits at the end of the day, you would have at least gotten double what I paid in the end if I had the $20 option.
Anyway thank you all very much again, I will definitely visit another time.
My Dad absolutely loves the food here.
He told me he had been to a few other Japanese restaurants but wasn't too thrilled with what he had.
He was surprised how good the quality was and he liked everything :)

Love love love this place. I go all the time, conveniently I work close by. I was introduced to sesame dressing at this place and now I have it on everything. Best karaage chicken in Brisbane! Very friendly staff, convenient and easy order at table, sign up to earn points for $10 off, nice restaurant vibe with groovy plate designs.

Harajuku Gyoza (south bank) was great restaurant with a vibrant feeling. The restaurant is really colourful and well maintained with a fabulous Team!!
They prepare their food nice and fresh everyday - which is an amazing thing as most of the Gyoza restaurants are not following that!
-> Cheeseburger Gyoza (crispy fried) - Gyoza was well cooked and it was crispy with great flavours inside. 5/5
-> Pork & Prawn Gyoza (Poached) - Perfectly cooked with nice texture and sprinkles of spring onions on top - Cooked for perfection. 5/5
-> Lemongrass Chicken Gyoza (Poached) - Lemongrass Chicken was flavourful with a small touch of sour to it - which made the Gyoza Delicious. 5/5
-> Chicken Karage - The pieces of chicken were nice and tendered. Usually Karage chicken would be more crispier outside but this one not as much. 4/5
-> Tempura Eggplant - The eggplant was amazing inside as it was super soft and great to eat. But the Outer part (dough) was Rick hard and it makes the dish really hard to eat. 2/5
-> Chicken Wings (pepper & Soy) - The Chicken was perfectly cooked and it was super delicious. Filled with flavours and once you start eating, you wouldn’t want to stop!! 5/5
I would definitely recommend this restaurant for everyone as the Team were great and they menu is perfect with great prices!!
T. B.
Love this place. Great food and atmosphere. My children (under 6) loved it so we'll now be regulars. Do yourself a favour and order some sake, you won't regret it.
The new touchless ordering and payment system is great.
R. S.
As always, my go-to Brisbane place for gyoza.
Authentic feel, authentic taste, with a twist of experiments of flavour and unique culinary combinations.

A delightful lunch ended with a crunchy Nutella Gyoza
My partner and I went for lunch at the well-recognized Harajuku Gyoza, and we were more than pleased with the food, service and overall vibe.
Despite of being on a busy Southbank street, Harajuku stands out by its fun, young and modern Japanese décor. When we entered, we were immediately greeted by a staff member which seated us and thoroughly explained to us the menu and ordering process. The full explanation came after we mentioned that it was our very first time eating at the restaurant.
The menu was easy to read and had excellent variety in flavours and ingredients. For drinks we ordered a Yoyogi Pale Ale and an iced green tea. The beer was out of this world (if you like fruity flavours). Certainly, this beer fitted perfectly with all the dishes we had later.
To eat we had the Pork and Prawn Gyoza with Ginger and Spring Onion Dressing, Grilled Duck Gyoza, Mozzarella Cheese Gyoza, Tokayaki Gyoza, Chicken Karaage, Tebasaki Peppered Chicken Wings and the One Foot Long Fries.
Overall the food was excellent. Every single plate was different to each other, providing dynamic textures, flavours and experiences.
The gyozas were delicate, crispy and airy. We particularly liked the Mozzarella Cheese Gyoza, a strange but surprisingly good dish. The Takoyaki Gyoza felt like a flavour explosion in our mouths. But the one dish that felt “robust” and hit all the flavour spots was the Pork and Prawn Gyoza with Ginger and Spring Onion Dressing. Excellent execution with sharp, spicy and sweet taste.
We also liked the sharing dishes (Karaage, wings and fries), but lacked flavour depth compared to the gyozas. The Chicken Karaage was average, as we felt it could have been crispier. It had a very basic flavour but improved when adding the lemon juice. The Tebasaki Peppered Chicken Wings were good but not excellent, with all of the pieces being crunchy and pleasant to eat. Some chicken pieces had no glaze, making them slightly ordinary. We were also expecting them to be peppery, but we could only taste the sweet and savory glaze. Both plates had a very uninterested presentation which diminished the positive eating experience. Finally, the One Foot Long Fries were beautiful with plenty of crunch and salt.
To end our modern Japanese journey, we had a Nutella Gyoza with Vanilla Ice Cream. We very much enjoyed the crunchy gyoza. The nutty and sweet hot filling fitted perfectly with the ice cream.
Regarding the service, we could not be happier. All the staff were very attentive, friendly and gave a 10/10 service. At our table we always had enough plates to eat, and the remaining ones left the kitchen in a timely and progressive manner. Only high-quality restaurants can reach this high level of dish coordination and precision.
Overall this restaurant definitely embodies its 4/5 stars Google Maps rating. For me, the service, food and experience feels more like a 5/5. Without question, I will be back at this restaurant and I recommend everyone to try it.
W. L.
Guess it depends what you order. I tried one of the lunch specials called a Prawn Burrito and I didn't like it at all. The description was good with prawn and crab but it was filled with lots of carrots and an outer layer of rice, seaweed and crushed wasabi peas. It was large, cold and hard to eat. After eating it like a roll, I tried to open it up on my plate to see if it would be better. Nope so I gave it away and then ordered a Duck Gyoza instead. Staff are friendly but the table service is poor as they leave your table cluttered with plates no matter how many times they come back to serve you. They hand you the food into your hands rather than clear the table!! Very noisy with constant yelling. Good if you want that atmosphere for drinking with buddies?
J. W.
Awesome service and food. Love the Prawn Gyoza especially, the server guy with glasses was really nice and helped me figure out how to open those weird japanese lemonade bottles with the marble in it
N. T.
All the food was delicious, especially the cheeseburger gyozas and salted caramel gyozas!
The hostesses were also fantastic.
Thank you so much for an enjoyable experience, cannot wait to come back.
C. M.
Great service, nice atmosphere. Dumplings would have been a bit better if they had been grilled a little longer. One side was crunchy and the other soggy.
S. M. U.
Good experience, staff was really helpful.
Since meat not halal therefore with limited vegetarian and seafood options it was a bit tough :)
Ordered vege gyoza tempura eggplant cheese crispy gyozas edamame and Nutella gyozas really liked it
Z. A.
Decent menu variety of Gyoza. Would only go here only solely for them. Other items such as ramen and karaage felt a bit below ordinary. Customer service here was great though!
A. R.
Food quality excellent, price excellent, service awesome, atmosphere quirky Japanese style...
Cannot recommend this place enough, enjoy
C. H.
Came here for lunch for two people. Plenty of great gyoza fillings to choose from.
You can expect the classic, friendly Japanese service, and the tables have handy buzzers so you can order as you go and at your own pace! The decor is imaginative without being too "loud", with funking ceiling lighting and unique printed plates with Japanese cultural references - the place uses some great colours, textures and lighting to keep the place inviting.
We got the standard pork gyoza, lemongrass chicken gyoza, one serve of fried chicken, edamame and some drinks. Serving of edamame was plentiful, the fried chicken was to die for and the gyoza where amazing!
We got one serving of the gyoza steamed instead of fried like normal, I've never had it this way. It was ok, and might be a slightly healthier option, but would probably stick to all fried in future if I manage to go again as they are just that much more scrumptious.
All in all a great place to eat, don't hesitate to walk in!

First time at this restaurant. I liked it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The range of food is terrific, and very tasty. It's a terrific sharing food. It's cooked fresh and delivered promptly. Unfortunately their electronic ordering system does not provide split bills so its the old one per table. So take cash if it's a group. So do yourself a favour
T. S.
When you want to go for rad japenese food, but don't want the regular sushi place... This is where you want to end up!
Coming at you with the Introverts dream of ordering and paying via app. Mad quiet and comfy
洪.
The food is not bad, if there are japanese menu is better to some customers. Environment is good and confortable.
E. Q.
Always love the food here. Service last night was excellent
B. L.
It was good. The chicken karaage and nutella gyoza was quite delicious. The cheeseburger gyoza would have been better if the mustard and tomato sauce didn't overpower the beef flavours from the gyoza. The price was reasonable for handmade gyozas.
T. B.
I love this place! Such amazing flavours, each bite of a gyoza is like heaven
D.
Great quality food as always and food serve very fast. The fry dumpling is on the expensive side but good place for catching up with friends for a beer.
T. B.
I love this chain. Great place on a cold night. The pork Gyoza and the agadashi tofu, the cloudy sake are my favourites.
V. H.
The staff was very nice and friendly. The service was good too. Thank you!
S. K.
Pretty cool place with the ambience matching the Harajuku culture... The menu is limited by they do it well with most dishes being pretty good... If the gyoza doesn't fill you up then go for a rice bowl to play it safe. The karage chicken was the only disappointment. It's also gets pretty busy so I suggest you ring in advance for a booking or otherwise go during off-peak hours.
D. H.
Chic decor with Japanese touch, specialising in gyoza, grilled or porched with other usual favourites, service is good & fast.
F. S.
Something different. Something delicious. It's Veg Tempura in Japanese Currey rice. It is a must try 😍😋
R. D.
We had the salerymans banquet. Rediculously good value. Everything was well timed so we could eat everything hot. Great mix of traditional and contemporary gyōza and other nibbles Staff were very friendly, helpful and fast.
E. T.
Good food and atmosphere, fair prices, worth the trip any time.
A. F.
Always really enjoy going for lunch or dinner here. Food is always really good and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere is always really energetic and friendly.
Prices are really reasonable and a family friendly restaurant.
C. C.
Walsh-San served us and was so friendly and helpful! Really made the experience special! Food & beers were great as always and love coming here when I have time <3
D. T.
Great service, a little slow but the food was excellent!
D. M.
Good food, fast ordering and service. The price for their chicken curry is high for the market, and the quality of the chicken reflects that. Unfortunately there are no vegetables in the curry, so that's the only improvement I would suggest. Carrots and potato's please!
r. d.
I’ve been here plenty of times and the food is good.
The good - GF and veg options, high chairs.
The bad - The new phone based menu is a good idea, but it just makes ordering slow and clunky. They have online menu and ordering system, but no wifi?! 🤨 ordering took us 15min 🙄
R. C.
I have never been disappointed at this place. Omg the food and service was incredible. Will 100% be back !!
T. M.
Customer service was on point, the food was absoulety lovely, felt like I was back in Japan. If your planning on going, go during the non busy periods, as there not much seating and fills up quick.
C. S.
We ordered a few different dishes and they were all delicious. Great place.
J. N.
A great spot to grab a range of wonderful dumplings. Wednesday special 50 cent chicken wings were a treat.
J. L.
Wow! What can I say...I used a Groupon voucher and my girlfriend and I got an amazing amount of food at a fraction of the cost. Use their app and we got a 10% discount. The food is delicious and can’t recommend this place enough. This is the first time I have eaten this type of food and never thought I was a dumpling fan but consider me converted.
R. H.
Love this place. Food just average but always good customer service.
My most recent visit, I went there without booking but all tables were taken or booked so we got a seat at the bar. Then as soon as one table left, manager san lady came up to us asked if we wanna take table. We went there without booking but they were more sorry that we didn't get the table at the beginning and offered us nice table. Also my partner isn't perfect with chopsticks but she cheerd him up, gave a good compliment so he was really appreciate. Normally other Asian restaurants just offer a fork but she was very thoughtful. We will definately will go back! Thanks.
Also always fun to watch sake show!!
B. B.
Thanks for looking after me. Always get your Gyoza here.
B. D.
The food was great but the fully online external payment system is weird. No menus and children make it not really very family oriented unless my kids aren't eating? Not too easy.
J. H.
Enjoyed the range of dumplings they had - definitely recommend the open pork ones. The staff were friendly and quite entertaining.
P. B.
Good food, but you need to be prepared for the staff shouting out a “call”. It can be disruptive if you are dining but could be fun if you are partying.
H. G.
Great venue with wonderful decor, attentive service and delicious food.
M. S.
Loved my birthday lunch here. Wonderful modern Japanese food. Adored the lemongrass chicken dumpling (Gyoza)... if you are famished then check it out!
h. m.
Food was delicious and the waiter (William) was so kind and made sure everything was going alright. I will definitely be back :)
T. T. T.
Good food, nice selection of gyoza and nigori. Perfect date night food.
J. R.
We've been coming here every fortnight for a long time and have always had such great service no matter how busy it is. Food and atmosphere incredible. Staff are always so friendly and helpful, always a pleasure coming here 👍
N. E.
Food was nice, service is good. My go to gyoza restaurant.
E. K.
Priced as a decent restaurant but the food is like a take away place, not delicate or rich. Not my style and I don't believe I will go back. If you like some Gyoza with some drinks or beers, then it's probably more suited, like Japanese bar food I guess. But for dinner or otherwise, you can get much better food at a different restaurant, for the same or even cheaper price.
J. B.
Gyoza is good. Staff friendly and efficient. This place gets busy on a fri/sat night. Good drinks menu.
T. R.
We come here every 2 weeks! Love this place! The staff are so lovely and the food is amazing! Such good variety on the menu! Love it!
P. G.
For Friday night, the place was buzzing. Patron turnover is good so finding a table doesn't need a long wait. The food, while traditionally Japanese in a certain way, was OK but not special. It was warm and served quickly. The staff are cheerful and attentive. If you like a quiet place to dine, look elsewhere. If a noisy ambience is what you like, this is a place you will enjoy. The boutique beer is very good. Try it; you'll like it.
P. L.
Heaps of unique gyoza flavours - cheese, marshmallows, nutella etc. Convenient online ordering via your phone at table, easy to use. Friendly service
A. D.
Friendly staff but at the time we went they forgot some stuff from our order. We just braught it up and they fixed it without issue. Its a nice little place and the food is great.
L. R.
Absolutely delicious food and great service. Art san made us feel very welcome. My daughter loved it and asked to go back. Fantastic!
J. N.
Lots of Saki, insane Gyoza, amazeballs, coccaine, the absolute best ever
G. C.
Authentic novo Japanese food, great atmosphere. Teriyaki salmon Don was awesome, dumplings were good and the kids couldn't wait to have their Nutella gyoza...
J. H.
We had an amazing night!! The food was beautiful and the service was even better. They filled my request and had a red heart balloon at our table and gave us a complimentary raindrop cake each! It was a beautiful night and I highly recommend this place. Thank you!! We will see you again soon :)
B.
I love the Aesthetic of this place. The colourful plates are definitely a fun touch, and the staff were all lovely and provided great service, however, the food wasn't on the level I was hoping for.
$16 for 3 squares of pork belly felt a little steep.
And when my Gyoza finally came out, majority of them were stuck together in one big clump :(
Also seems like tables full of dirty dishes isnt very high on their priorities. A family who left not long after we arrived had their dirty plates and dishes left on the table and noone came through to tidy it up in the whole time we were there.
E. D.
Overall ok bit just misses the mark. Food feels rushed and too pre prepared, but still worth a visit if you haven’t been
S.
Classic Harajuku food and beverages, great consistency across your stores... my only criticism is that you don't do Kirin on tap any more!
R. S.
Really good 👍 will be going back again for sure
T. L.
The food was amazing, the service was great, I love everything about it. The takoyaki gyoza is a MUST. The only thing that keeps it a 4 star rating for me is sake as a drink choice. They have a few cocktails that include sake but no option on the menu to order the drink as is. That is the only thing I can think of to improve. Everything else is awesome.
J. H.
Simplicity meets great service. The two waitresses where funny/nice and great. Got a quick rundown about the history of the place and I highly recommend. Suits a couple for a date or a large group of people to share!
A. S.
Fantastic service in a popular restaurant is hard to come by and this place offers it every time. Anything with the words "lemon grass" I recommend. Food quality is very good but a little pricey if you eat as much as I do. It can get busy at times so be prepared to wait if needed.
L. K.
Love going here, staff awesome, food was amazing as usual... Everytime we go to Southbank this is where we eat...
D. T.
Harajuku is know for it bright atmosphere. Food was great though atmosphere was lacking. Still worth a stop in
L. D.
Very friendly staff and delicious food
R. H.
Love this place. Food just average but always good customer service.
My most recent visit, I went there without booking but all tables were taken or booked so we got a seat at the bar. Then as soon as one table left, manager san …
J. M.
Great food, atmosphere and service
X. C.
10/10 and would go back. Amazing food with great service and comfy seating!
P. H.
Always a pleasure eating here! Amazing service amazing good!
G.
Always great food. Great vibe. Great service and well priced
N. B.
Awesome every time we go there. Great staff and great food.
K. W.
Great Valentine's Day deal only $30 a head for 2 people and lots of food. Service was fast and lovely as always. Food is very tasty. Would recommend!
J. H.
Service was quick and efficient. Food was delicious. I didn't take any photos due to me eating everything rather quickly
P. P. K.
This is the place to go if you like Japanese food especially Gyoza. My only complaint might be their menu card. There's no photo available so I don't get to see what I'm ordering until it shows up. This is a bit turn down fr new customer who's not familiar with Japanese food. Overall, great service great food.
B.
Some things they have that taste very good, but there's a noodle soup on the menu that really shouldn't exist. I asked the waitress if she recommends it, her voice said "no" but her face said "HELL NO!". I thought how bad could it be........ it was terrible, shouldn't even be classified as food.
t. B.
Highly recommended we all loved it.
We had the 2 banquets and it was great to try so many delicious dishes. The staff were very friendly and helpful, looking forward to go again in a week or so.
D. T.
Harajuku is know for it bright atmosphere. Food was great though atmosphere was lacking. Still worth a stop in
D. E.
Great fun. Great food. We'll be back
E. B.
Always a delight! Love the menu, the staff and the interior. My favourite place to dine in South Bank. A great experience, thank you.
K. L.
Average fare for what you pay. The platters are good for sharing, but you don't get a lot for what you pay. Food presentation and ambience is good for group dining. Staff are friendly and prompt even during busy periods. Not the best japanese cuisine in South Bank, but OK.
P. H.
Always a pleasure eating here! Amazing service amazing good!
A. B.
Food is excellent. We had the pork and prawn gyoza, karagee chicken, agadashi tofu and takoyaki which were all cooked to perfection and extremely tasty. Also tried the Nutella gyoza with vanilla ice cream for dessert which was gorgeous but you got 2 less gyoza for around the same price which wasn't great on the value side. Staff were very friendly but did miss a few things on tables around us and also didn't really respond to the on table calling device (but this was probably due to how busy it was in there). Drinks were reasonably priced for the location.
b. r.
Lovely place for gyoza's. Ensure you leave some time to find parking.
W. J.
Gyoza fantastic and fast service too. Sake's were a bit on the cloudy sweet side for me. Totally recommended. Grey St can be difficult to navigate as address numbering isn't always clear.
V. H.
Food fantastic. Can't wait till they are able to do the fun table saki service.
J. P.
First time I've been somewhere that isn't exactly table service, but also isn't counter service. You press a button on the table and staff come and take your order. Such a great idea! Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Would strongly recommend!
R. p.
Great ambience and good food. May was extremely helpful. We enjoyed the food and Yogi IPA was the best.
D. L.
Great value for money with a very diverse range of menu options that can suit vegetarian eaters as well. Beverages are very good value too, with the banquet and drinking packages amongst the hardest to beat in town
C. C.
Always amazing service... quality of food is amazingly high. .. atmosphere is one of the best I've been to. ... YOU MUST ORDER SAKE.. see what happens... - just love it. .!!
M. v.
It's okay, but nothing exceptional. Food took a long time to come out (I think the order was lost until we followed it up) and the service was a bit ordinary.
D. Ä.
The waitress here said she had a sister named Teapot. That was pretty cool. My ranked #986 friend Corey ate these foot long fries and kept saying how his dilly was an inch long but smells like a foot. Total mood killer.
A. F.
Great place for a catch up and easy quick meal
C. K. (.
Authentic, fresh, friendly and very tasty Japanese food, loved the Orion Okinawan beer, the Yogi Barrel craft cider was the best and dryest cider ever purchased in my life, lol go figure!
P. E.
Special birthday bash we had a banquet. In our group was a gf diet. Poor lady had one option throughout. Otherwise the flavours were just a little boring. Never eaten there before and now not likely to go back. Sake
A. S.
I love harajuku gyoza and have been to the one in the valley as well as Tokyo, however the dumplings at this particular chain tasted either frozen or not very fresh. The case was too doughy and the filling hard and chewy. We also had Edemame which were average and the takoyaki dumplings which were drowned in sauce and kewpie mayo. The wings, however, were very nice! I hope they improve this as it needs to live up to the high harajuku standard.
M. M.
cool and quirky little place in Southbank; lots of character and an excellent bar/restaurant ambiance. Can get expensive quickly as gyoza aren't exactly filling, but they have a loyalty program to compensate.
I really enjoyed my time here, as they had a modest but interesting menu that did not disappoint!
M. S.
Just had some drinks here. They were good and great spot for people watching.
Giving it a 4 star because there wasn’t as many options as I’d normally like for beers. Great night street view.
L. D.
Very friendly staff and delicious food
J. M.
Great food, atmosphere and service
D. M.
Great place to eat. Friendly energetic staff. Dishes came out reasonably quickly considering how busy they were. Spiced rum espresso martini is awesome.
D. J.
One of my favourite places to go for a quick bite. If you're looking for some great Japanese Gyoza with some authentic Japanese beveridges you've found the right place. Just remember to try and book ahead or arrive early otherwise you might have a long wait.
T. K.
Pretty expensive. BUT it's great cooked gyoza. Loved it! I recommend the Teriyaki Meat with Steam Rice.
A. K.
Cute little dumpling place, a great venue for a fun night out. It's quite expensive, and you'll probably need to order more than one plate to feel satisfied, but you're paying for the ambience I suppose.
The dessert gyoza are a fun twist, I'm a fan.
E. H.
Great food. Crew welcomed our 1yr old and set a table with a high chair for us. Good service, good value for money.
A. S.
I love this place! Always clean and tidy, staff are really friendly. The food was amazing. We got the salaryman banquet. It was soooo good! We were so full by end! It was a great place to have a fun dinner with friends.
H. R.
They make some of the best dumplings I have ever had. Customer service was great and the staff just gives the place a really good vibe to it. Happy customer
B. J.
Really good food, great atmosphere - service was quite slow especially since there was only 2 other customers but the service was fantastic once it started
Z. Z.
This outlet serves an eclectic mix of japanese and innovative desserts with a strong emphasis on gyozas.
The service here and food served is good. However, Japanese cuisine enthusiasts should manage their expectations regarding the authenticity of the food served.
J. F.
Harajuku is such a great place - it is loud and bubbly though, so if that's not your thing then avoid it. I love the food and the staff are always friendly, accommodating, and just all round fab. Would definitely recommend!
G.
Love it so friendly and yum
A. B.
If you've been to one of the Harajuku gyoza restaurants you won't forget your experience. The atmosphere is excellent and the staff are enthusiastic (especially when you order sake). The food, however, is only ok.
K. L.
Had pork gyoza, deep fried eggplant, chicken karaage and rice. $30. Delicious though the gyoza was burnt on the edges. Eggplant was my favourite - melt in your mouth on the inside, fried in a light batter and resting on a pool of soy sauce. Yummy! Lost one star because tables left uncleared for ages. Kinda noisy too. Or convivial, depending on your p.o.v.
L. K.
Love going here, staff awesome, food was amazing as usual... Everytime we go to Southbank this is where we eat...
B. W.
Great food, and good service. Atmosphere is very much on point with authentic Japanese restaurant, but maybe a little over the top with the welcomes, thankyou, and goodbyes.
Actually, too be honest, that is exactly how it should be to reflect Japanese culture, to hell with it, I've just upgraded this to 5 stars!!
ARIGATOU GOZAIMASU!!
C. H.
Great dining room and atmosphere. Staff were fantastic and food was excellent, very reasonably priced. Would recommend.
A. M.
Really great food and service. They always give a big greeting walking through the door and have a tradition of making a big commotion if you order sake. Try the tear drop desert. It's something a little different
T. S.
Great food, great atmosphere. The sort of place where you can get some small bites and a few drinks and stay for a couple of hours
R. H.
This place is good but just needlessly NOISY!! They all scream their Japanese welcome at every new patron who enters. And I mean yell. No one knows what they're screaming, so it's pointless. Don't sit near the entrance. . Then they yell and scream for saki pouring at tables and other stuff at the bar. Trying to create some fun atmosphere I guess, but it drive us away. yelling and noisy for no reason is just off putting. Consequently everyone has to talk loudly to be heard, making the place unrelaxing. Food was quite good tho, service a little slow. Pork belly delicious. Sounds cheap but can add up if you don't want to leave hungry. Just too noisy for us to want to go back.
S. E.
Amazing food, can't fault it. Service however isn't great. Once you're seated, they forget about you and it takes too long to get their attention to order.
J. L.
Service was OK. Gyoja and takoyaki was too little compared to price, only 5 pcs. Ramen was terrible. Soup was just too lean. Katsu curry didn't have enough curry. And I think it is a must to provide red ginger with Katsu curry... some radish and carrots instead. Would not come again.
L. C.
We had a great time at this Gyoza shop, the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a number of gyoza to chose from and the ones we had were full of flavour and well cooked.
M. W.
We went for a pre show dinner and the staff could not have been more helpful or attentive.
Z. S.
Food was fantastic, service was great, awesome atmosphere and nothing they did impound I fault. From a professional perspective, they did an amazing job. Will be back
E. S.
Gyoza are always a good idea! Reliably tasty food and friendly service, usually very noisy with much merriment and flowing sake. Be prepared to wait for a table as they don't take small bookings.
X. C.
10/10 and would go back. Amazing food with great service and comfy seating!
R. P.
Excited to find an air conditioned restaurant in South Bank! Even more excited to find that it had great food and a fun, friendly staff. Sake was lovely and the dessert gyoza with matcha ice cream was perfect
L. J.
Large variety of gyozas and meals. Had a lovely time with a large group of friends. Would recommend booking a table as they are always busy
L. T.
Great place for gyoza/tapas-style Japanese food/alcohol in a casual and fun environment. Never had any issues in any of the locations around Brisbane. Always a great time.
R. Y.
Great service! Food is more tapas style for sharing over drinks. I didn't find the gyoza special but it's not bad at all. Great vibes.
S. V.
Good Gyoza, however there are very few vegetarian options. The sake bottles are very delicious!
M. G.
Great service, delicious meal and very reasonable prices. Definitely be there again.
S. M.
Great gyoza and curry
N. J.
Amazing food!!!!!!! Great staff nothing negative at all. Will definitely be back!
J. P.
Such a fun and exciting atmosphere! Great food offerings of gyoza and other Japanese fare. Very quick and friendly service. Will definitely be back.
M. R.
Great atmosphere, great food, great service. Now in my top 5 Asian eateries I have been been to. The YoYog beer is a good beer as well.
N. B.
Awesome every time we go there. Great staff and great food.
j. s.
Relaxing atmosphere, amazing food and the servers are extremely friendly and welcoming.
Highly recommend and will definitely come back
L. R.
Pretty good gyoza. There are good weekday deals like 2 for 1 Tuesdays that are definitely worthwhile
K. R.
Such an amazing environment. Staff all greet you as you walk in. Food is top notch too, highly recommend the chicken karaage.
D. B.
Always a great feed and lots of fun. Happy hour is awesome and their new app makes split bills very easy.
B. H.
Well cooked crispy golden dumplings, kinda disappointed with the seasoning of filling. Duck dumplings is the best of three we ordered.
S. M.
Amazing food and service as per always! Love being able to eat here when in Southbank
D. W. (. G.
Food was delicious and the service and atmosphere were great. Especially the sake shots! You have to try one when you go.
R. M.
I have eaten here many times. Usually the food is great. but last night I was served raw pork dumplings after waiting over 20mins.
G.
Always great food. Great vibe. Great service and well priced
H. G.
i’ll have to say this restaurant is so average....very small portion and gyoza came out all over the plate no presentation whatsoever...Flavour is very average too...personally think a bit overpriced.
T. F.
Gyoza, chicken teri and some grean tea. Did not disappoint but John was upset their wasn't any traditional japanese green teas available, maybe next time? Everything tasted amazing.
a. l.
great gyoza !!! i tried the pork and prawn , the duck gyoza and the cheese burger gyoza. i also had the nutella gyoza 🤤🤤 all were very tasty and the staff very friendly and attentive!!!
L. E.
Food was pretty good but we went there for a party with a group of friends and the service was quite slow. We didn't get served enough food in th alloted time and was hard to get drinks. Morr staff were needed on the busy nights.
A. K.
Awesome gyoza bar. Great vibe, friendly staff, good service, great food and drinks selection. Food quality is always great, only issue is that it is overpriced, as many japanese, small, snacky type food bars are.
O. P. (.
There's no place like Harajuku Gyoza! Hands down my FAVOURITE restaurant for the last half a decade! Support these guys through corona!
P. S. I.
This is one of my favourite Japanese places in Brisbane. The quantity and quality of food is really good, I keep going back for more.
D. L.
Great food, nice atmosphere. Can get expensive if you don't order carefully
M. G.
Delicious food 😊! I would encourage going with a group so you can get a few parts top share.
Unfortunately they don't accept Amex and they won't split bills.
C. Y.
Mondays $1 Gyoza! ❤️
B. S.
Been coming here countless times over the years. I've had it all over the world, but this still remains my favourite gyoza restaurant.
M. O.
Absolutely amazing service, staff was super friendly, food was amazing for what its worth must recommend the burger dumpling.
D. (.
Great food, good service. Cheeseburger Gyoza was amazing.
D. W.
Reasonable priced eats with fast service. Some great vegetarian options. Tasty, well spiced & generous serves.
N. L.
We love Harajuku Gyoza! It's the right mix of authenticity and convenience :) There was one staff member who was annoyingly loud with his 'irasshaimase's though... But he was prob having a rough night.
C. A.
All the staff are always so friendly and helpful! The food is always delicious! Their tempura eggplant is incredible!!
R. Y.
Lovely place to dine with friends and family. We ordered dumplings after dumplings. Left very satisfied!
C. C. (.
Amazing quality and outstanding service. Highly recommend!
M. B.
Cosy and the food was delicious. The staff were very attentive and friendly.
J. T.
It was alright, nothing to scream about just your average dumplings. Don't get the long fries, they were absolutely drenched in oil!
R. G.
So much fun, great food, fast service. Boatloads of fun. Do not leave without ordering sake. Heaps of fun. Great fitout. Funloads of fun.
R. J.
Food as staff were wonderful. Mon 7/12/20 1pm
B. M.
Bring the whole family. Great food, great atmosphere. Good to take work colleagues too format fun lunch or evening out.
S. S.
I go here a lot and the food is always amazing (:
D. A.
The dumplings are very good. The beer is cold and definitely order sake for the yelling from the waiters as it is poured.
B. D.
This place is awesome. The food is so nice and it’s a really quirky and cool restaurant.
R. D.

Terrific stuff!!! Love the setout and atmosphere. Food has improved too. Great service always!
T. P.
Super fun Japanese restaurant, delicious food, great service, smaller menu but still plenty to choose from. Oh and a good selection of beers.
S. L.
Just come back from Japan and this is pretty close to some of the Izakayas there. Food and service are awesome. The best and coldest Kirin on tap
P. C.
Best vegan guyozas I've had, food was so good! Only thing I'd suggest is more vegetarian/vegan dishes 😁
B. R.
Who doesn't love Gyoza? This is a great franchise, but service is sometimes slow. So if you need to be somewhere in a hurry might not be for you
L. S.
Loved the salmon poke bowl, octopus balls also yum! More non-alcoholic Asian style drinks please
V. R.
It's not only tasty, but healthy at the same time, especially steamed gyozas. It's easy to leave $40 for a selfish dinner though.
A. P.
Friendly wait staff, tasty gyozas. And the sake - wow. I'm glad this branch is just as good if not better than the original site in the Valley.
E. C.
Fun energy, delicious food in a trendy place. Found the price a bit steep for the portions though
k.
Love the interior and atmosphere of this place. Great if you're a fan of Japanese culture! Staff is super friendly.
R. D.
Ambience is nice. Food is good too.
T. L.
I appreciate the friendly stuff and good atmosphere. The Gyozas are okay but I don’t like their curries and dons
T. B.
Staff are always friendly, service is always prompt and the food is always delicious. I do miss the white chocolate Gyoza though 😢
R. M.
Great food, great service. Not 5 star amazing but perfectly average for the price point.
C. L.
You know you’ll get good gyoza at Harajuku. South Bank Harajuku is getting a bit tired, it was a bit dirty with food on the floor at the entrance when we got there and still there when we left.
I. A.
Cool staff, great meals and fine prices. Beware they won't spilt the bill between multiple people.
N. A.
Great food. Amazing service...fast
D. R.
Pretty good food, the Monday deal really good value
S. P.
Really nice food and beer. Service was friendly but wait til was 40 mins for our 4 starters
A. G.
Nice place great beers and the sake aint half bad. I do feel like the the quality of the gyozas has gone down somewhat.
s.
Great food and service, highly recommended.
A. H.
Good sit down food. Fast and full of crazy Japanese staff who yell something every time someone new comes in. A good vibe place and well decorated.
R. N.
Love the ambience. Very quirky, friendly staff, and quick service. Generally uniform across all the stores actually.
A. S.
Raucous in a fun way. Not somewhere you'd want to go for a quiet night out. Delicious food and attentive staff. Try the dessert gyoza!

S. L.
Harajuku Gyoza has amazing food, service and atmosphere. I am always happy to come back to eat here highly recommended
L. C.
Harajuku Gyoza serves several types of Gyoza and a couple of other dishes. Although the variety is limited, what they do do, they do well.
They have very limited vegetarian options.
K. T.
Theys a bits over priced for some dim simmers and beer. And it like you're eating in a sauna or a log cabin
K.
went there for the famous long French fries, was then disappointed by just normal fries.
L. V.
Friendly and happy staff, delicious dumplings and super value lunch meal deal. $9 for dumplings, miso and rice 🍚
J. C.
Awesome food and friendly staff. Great for a quick bite or a relaxed catchup with friends
M. L.

L. C.
It's ok, but I've had better gyoza elsewhere. The Nutella gyoza is the only thing I would go back for.
J. W.
Over priced, I don't understand the hype. Tasted like any other gyoza I've had, just with an inflated price tag
d.
Amazing Katsu Curry washed down with a well priced Growler...
