Everything you want packed between a soft delicious bun. They rock the smash patties here and they're the best. I personally always go for chicken burgers and their Nashville chicken burger is my ultimate go to. Not to mention their sides are terrific. It's a cool laid back vibe with super delicious food you can't wait for.

We went out of our way to come visit this place. Twice. The first time Google said it was during operating hours, but it was closed when we got there. On our 2nd try we got lucky and it was open. We were expecting some sort of godlike M&C after reading the other reviews, but we're fairly disappointed. It seems more like a burger shop that happens to offer M&C on their menu than the other way around. Plus the M&C was too runny and was kind of average. I'd even go so far as saying that the M&C seemed like a cost reduced version of the multiple choices that they apparently used to have (which I only know about from reading past reviews). Plus the small dish of M&C was quite expensive for what you got. I wouldn't go as far as panning the place, hey, it's freaking M&C, it deserves a try. But it really does feel like a burger joint now, and there are better local alternatives that make truly excellent burgers, Broken Hearts Burger Club in Morningside, for example. RECOMMENDED (for an occasional M&C fix), but not for the other stuff.

Best burger in Brisbane. I will literally not eat all day so I can eat more here. It's rare you come across such a beautiful burger that while eating it, you need to place it down and just admire its glow. Grilld & Burger Urge lovers please leave this discussion. Your subpar taste buds are not welcome here. The sides are also great. Chips, Mac & Cheese, Buffalo & Nashville Chicken are fantastic. I'm yet to find a fault here.

We came here with our French Bulldog who could sit under the table. We all had troubles ordering via the QCode but orders could be made at the register. The young lady serving and taking orders was friendly and efficient. Our food was cooked fresh and we all enjoyed.

This is what $70 gets you at 'Mac from way back' The chips were easily the highlight of everything I dont know what they do but WOW!! the Mac and cheese was also pretty good but we came for the birria tacos and were let down dont get me wrong we ate them but id rather come back for the chips and Mac.

Our new favourite go to burger joint. Best burger in Brisbane in our opinion. Just so much flavour and their special story is amazing. Buns are next level too. Phili cheese steak was so good. Same as ones I’ve had in actual Philadelphia. Have a great range of beers on tap and cans to try too. Definitely a place to try!

Heard about this place from Brisbane Burger Quest on Instagram. Went here for the first time with one of my friends. Burgers were classic American style smash burgers. Very tasty with excellent portion size. We also had the wings which were good. We went here on a Friday night when it was quite busy and we had a 40 minute wait for food. Overall, very tasty burgers and you need to try if you enjoy burgers.

My wife was unwell (not covid) so I had to take shelter away from her so as not to catch anything. I joined friends at Mac from way Back. The standard burger was probably the best burger I have had in Brisbane. As you can see in the pictures we all enjoyed it. Sam even managed to eat a double because he is quite a big eater and drinker. Burger had some very crispy edges which was my favourite part. They also had toilet facilities in which I appreciated since I enjoyed a great northern with my burger. I would definitely return. Well done restaurant!

Burgers were great. Mac & cheese with chips; first one was really bad unfortunately, chips looked like been refried & very oily, bacons were burnt & while eating we discovered a hair 😐 so we told them & they got us a new one which was freshly made. Cocktails were too expensive for their quality & quantity which were not worth it. If you getting any things with chips ask for freshly made chips & not refried ones.

First time dining at Mac From Way Back, we were left with a mixture of feelings. As we arrived around dinner time, it was a bit busy inside and outside the venue but there were still plenty of tables available. Ordered a single smashie and their double smashie combo, with a small fries and Coke Zero. We waited for about 20-30 mins (which we understood as it was fairly busy and we expected it to be that long) before my burger was brought to us, but just mine. And it was not until 15 mins later did the other burger come out, which made me wonder how come both burgers were not served at the same time. So we ended up having the other one to go instead. I thought my double smashie was alright but not as amazing as a lot of people make it sound like. The burger to me was lacking flavors and could have used a bit more salt; the top bun was cold like it was straight out of the fridge (no idea if it is their style or they didn’t toast it long enough). I did like that the patties were thin and crispy, and caramelized on the edge, which was a really nice touch. The chips were much better than the burger. Portion wise, for a small chips, they were enough for two people; flavor wise, it was seasoned well. Another thing I really loved about the chips was the texture, which was really crunchy on the outside but so tender on the inside. It almost resembled the texture of mashed potatoes. As for my partner’s burger, he enjoyed it but also thought it was lacking flavors and salt was not evenly distributed, which made some part of the patty much saltier than the rest of it. The service was good. Even though there hadn’t been too many interactions with the staff except for when we placed our order and were being served, everyone was nice, friendly and attentive. Will come back for a second round and hopefully it will be better next time.

Caught up with some friends I hadn't seen for a while for some Fat Friday burgers @mac.from.way.back 👌🏼 . The burgers all came out pretty quickly and looked pretty good too. I ordered the Nashville Hot Fried Chicken Burger - which came with a big piece of spicy fried chicken, hostname apple slaw, pickles and some really yummy MFWB sauce 🤤🤤 . The buns were soft, the flavours were amazing and the chips are pretty good too 👍🏼 . Definitely worth a try if you're close by and even if you're not - if still recommend a trip out to visit them 🤩

Food is well worth the 30 min wait it takes once your order is placed, plenty of seating and friendly staff. The seasoning on the chips is delicious and the crispy smashed patties are amazing! I've taken off one star as we waited 5 minutes to order our food at the counter. One staff member was hurriedly making milkshakes and kindly kept advising us she would be with us shortly to order, whilst another staffer stood in the kitchen area and packed orders into bags as they were handed to him from the kitchen. He wasn't packing orders continuously, so could have taken orders from incoming customers in between packing. Whilst we were waiting, another 3 or 4 people queued up behind us. Otherwise, can't fault the food or venue.

Perfect smashed burger we both had the smashie burger only down side was my partners single patty had a overwhelming amount of sauce to meat ratio for a single patty but she still enjoyed it. Also had the Nashville hot chicken burger, I'm not a massive chicken burger person but I could see a lot of people loving the flavours. You have to order the Dutch curry gravy for your chips it was unreal. Overall an amazing feed well worth the wait.

Visited Tue Dec 29 for lunch. I had the Mac & cheese skillet with crumbed mushroom - it was delicious, great flavour and texture. My companion had the double smashie burger special and he really enjoyed it. The side of French fries were hot, crisp and crispy - top notch.

Have been there twice, first time they rushed my order to prioritise uber Eats orders and Brisbane Burger Quest promotional Instagram influencers burgers. This led to them bringing out the wrong order and being not receptive to correcting the order. Second time, we waited 35min to receive Cold burgers, cold chicken and cold chips. The overall attitude of staff always seems to be quite rude and uncaring. Food is good though and the smashed paddies and Mac are very good - when they aren't cold.

The absolute KING of burger joints in Brisbane. My favorite and go to place to get a filthy feed with top quality ingredients, the best smashed patties, staff that are always welcoming and a great store atmosphere. The menu is constantly evolving and new elements are added that level up this place every few weeks. With a very respectable array of side dishes, the mac and cheese skillet is top notch! I recommend adding bacon bits or buffalo chicken to it. Regardless, the signature double smashie burger will remain a timeless classic and I would happily have it be my last meal on earth. They’ve found the perfect the balance for every aspect of the burger from the beef to cheese to sauce to the home made pickles. Pro tip, add some fried cheese curd or mac to really disregard all pulmonary function and send the cheat meal all the way home.

I did not know what to expect regarding the burgers from Mac From Way Back as I cycled over to Woolloongabba (formerly know as One Mile Swamp). I had heard good reports about the smashed patty, but would physical force really make all the difference to how good a burger could taste? I know when I have used physical force on objects or other people, I haven’t always felt good afterwards. Sometimes I get very angry, then after striking someone, feel guilty afterwards. Would I experience the same emotions after eating a “smashie”? After taking one bite, I experienced only positive emotions. It was the best burger I have had so far. My brother thought it was a good burger too. When we were younger my brother had physically hurt me many times. So it was fitting that we were able to enjoy a “smashie” together. I would recommend viewing the 70’s single fin shortboard exhibit around the corner.

This is currently my favourite burger place. I like it's eclectic nature, with influences from Holland, Canada & Mexico in addition to the US. Patties are squished thin and well browned. Chips are really good. Wide range of sauces, some of which are quite challenging for me. Consider the Smashed Burger Fries as an alternative to an actual burger. Beer options seemed good to me - had a fun IPA. Sign up for social media to hear of specials and the occasional day when you can get Birria tacos (highly recommend). I'm still working up to trying the Mac&cheese - need to recover from some bad experiences elsewhere.

Mac from way back has some of the most outstanding food I have ever eaten. Last night a spicy southern fried chicken sandwich and their loaded smash burger fries, I N C R E D I B L E. Juicy, tender, spicy and flavourful chicken with pickles, lettuce and cucumber slices. To top that off I added their blue cheese sauce to that bad boy and ohhh my what a sandwich! And because I ordered a chicken sandwich I didn’t want to order a chicken side, so I loaded up on the loaded fries, which if you order the smash burger fries you will be greeted by a mountain of fries topped with enough delicious burger chopped up to eat with every bite if your fries, not to mention the cheese and finely diced onion. This combination allows you to enjoy bother their tasty as F#%k chicken and beef, with some fries as well. Mac from way back thank you so much. Every time I eat your food it makes me happy. And you can’t put a price on that!

Mac from way back has become a staple around my place. It is hands down the best Mac and cheese experience I have ever had. Not only is the food incredible, but the staff provide incredible customer service. My delivery driver from a food delivery service did not bring the right order and then would not provide a full refund. I contacted Mac from way back to let them know that the order had been incorrectly delivered and they went out of their way to fix this completely. This is the perfect Mac and cheese if you have had a bad day and need a bit of comfort food, or even if you just want a cheeky treat. Can’t appreciate this place enough.

We have reignited the Brisbane Burger trawl after overdoing it last year. Mac from way back was the first. Whilst the wait was about half an hour (enough to go from starving to 'meh') the burgers were good. The Double beef smash for $10 on Tuesday is a bargain and I wouldn't go a triple, it's just too much. The chicken burger was equally as good. We also had the Mac and cheese and a small fries. The Mac was good, but not amazing (unless you've never had good Mac, in which case it would be amazing). Overall, this is a tasty burger. Cheap Tuesdays makes it a bargain. 4.5 stars.

Not all burger places are made the same, and these guys are testament to that fact. I've eaten a lot of different burgs on the east coast and they pale in comparison to these guys. Ordered online, arrived early then had to wait longer than advised time (10 mins) to pickup food (it was ready just needed to be packed up - needed to ask again whether it was ready which is frustrating.) They missed the extra on the order, so paid for it and didn't get it (the crumbs for the mac and cheese). 50 cents, whatever, but I think the mac and cheese needed it - was bland on top, so again, frustrating. Burger was good. Chips were perfect. If it wasn't for the chips I'd give it 3 stars, but the chips (feral fries) were brilliant.

Think about the best meal you have ever had, double it, then times that by ten - and it’s still no where near as good as Mac from way back is. Soft perfectly cooked Mac, stringy full flavoured cheese - browned to perfection. Cross that with a juicy burger patty that’s smashed and seared to perfection and you have the ideal meal. Succulent and full flavoured - exactly what I imagine Jesus had for his last supper. In summary... if you haven’t had MFWB, you’re missing out.

Food is always sensational, make no mistake. You need your staff without a medical exemption to wear a mask and those with one to state they have an exemption if asked, albeit not the reason for the exemption. I do not want a mistake on staff’s part to take away from the otherwise great food these guys do, so in hindsight I’ve gotta give them 5 stars based on the speed and quality of food service. Hopefully this settles the matter.

Undeniably exceptional burgers! You can tell that the MFWB masterminds have been slinging burgers for a long time, they do everything great! The smash burger is my all time favourite- the combination of crust on the smashed beef pattie matched with simple ingredients on a Martin’s potato bun makes it taste so good. The Bolognese Loaded Fries are also a must try. Some other things that makes MFWB great: -Friendly staff -Plenty of napkins and cutlery available on hand at each table -Quick service -Cold beer on tap -Plenty of seating inside and out Hot Tip: Add Mac & Cheese to your burger, you won’t be disappointed. Damn I’m hungry just thinking about it.
