Everything is perfect for a Tuesday night out . Services and the ambiance are great. The most important thing is the chef there knows how to cook! Yes very simple but not every restaurant understand it! We love every dish we ordered. Especially the steak and entree (lamp and grilled octopus) dessert is alright.

My wife & I, and another couple enjoyed a truly wonderful and amazingly good dining experience at Massimo on Saturday, October 30. We were provided genuinely warm and friendly service by Joyce, who gave the four of us her personal recommendations on which sauces and sides to order to accompany our respective main courses. The $90 “Bottomless Lunch” offers exceptional “Value for Money”, with a choice of four entrees, four mains, and four desserts, with a “2 hour beverage package featuring counterpoint wine, sparkling or beer” included in the price. Our party of four will most definitely return to Massimo for another Bottomless Lunch, and the next time we do, we will invite some friends to join us. Thank you Joyce for the attentive and friendly service you provided all of us!!

Pretty average Italian food, not my favorite place. The wine was good and the sand crab lasagna was unique. My wife ordered the prawn pasta, and the pasta seemed a bit over cooked. Beautiful setting along the river.

I held my birthday celebrations at Massimo on the weekend and I had the most amazing experience! The staff provided the most exceptional customer service, the lunch could not have gone any more seamless and perfect. From the moment I started enquiring Ruffa and Janet the ladies I spoke to were so accommodating and polite. On the day I stepped into the restaurant and was greeted by two beautiful ladies who were a pleasure to deal with; Janet and Joice. My table was setup so elegantly, I was able to bring some decorations with me that matched so well and popped them on the table, it looked absolutely amazing. Where do I get started on the food, every fine detail was noticed and the exquisite aromas and flavours that these dishes possessed were sensational. The timing of the courses was on point, the ordering was seamless and made so easy. The lovely waitress; Thais serviced the table and made everyone feel comfortable and had everyones glass full. We didn’t want to leave as we felt so welcomed and looked after. The event was made so special because of Massimo, the staff and food. Thank you and your team for making the celebration so special and amazing. Massimo truly will hold amazing memories for me, this could not have been more perfect. Thank you! Look forward to coming back and seeing you all soon.

Absolutely sensational mouth wateringly delicious. Every mouthful was to be savoured. The baked coral trout to share for 2 @700grms was delicate and perfectly cooked. The zucchini fritters a side order where not what we were expecting, they were so much better! Not sure what the fritter coating was, though it was thin, crisp and tasty. The baked potatoes were also delicious. The service was great, the staff were helpful and kind. Totally recommend this restaurant.

Thankyou to the team at Massimo, and Ruffa, Aryana and Joyce specifically for the helping me organise my 21st birthday! They helped with all my requests and were such a delight in helping me out with! They did so much from swiftly changing plates last minutes on my request to handling 40 people at once, to the constant enquiries being answered by Ruffa! The food was amazing and soo filling (worth the price)! The place is beautiful with the nice interior and ambience and has a nice amazing city view! Managed to cater for 40 people as well! I thoroughly love this restaurant. When you enjoyed four courses and feel like you haven't tried all the things on the menu you truely would love to try and therefore booked for another dinner next week, then what more can I say to prove how much I enjoyed my time at Massimo! The focaccia was light and crunchy at the same time. I love the simple way I learned to enjoy this bread whilst in the Liguria region in Italy. Simply dip it in oil and balsamic and be lifted into that Italian "dolce" state of pure enjoyment; foodie heaven. The entree I had were the scallops. Truely, they were done to perfection; not over the top, but treated with respect and enhanced to bring out their best. For mains, I shared the snapper and the prawns. Again, treated with respect, tasting fresh and juicy, nurturing and delicious at the same time. The desert rounded up a spectacular dinner. Do yourself a favour if you love simple and delicious Italian food. book a table. Our waitress from the coast of Columbia was a gem and made our evening just the best

Great value. There were several set menu options. The foods were mainly good, however the pasta could be better. The service was friendly, unfortunately the wait staff got my first drink wrong and then forgot the second one.

Delicious food, and the 3 course set meals are good value. The lamb and porchetta were flavourful and perfectly cooked. Sandcrab pasta had a good amount of crab in it, and the pasta was well coated with sauce. Cuttlefish (starter) needed to be more seasoned though. Desserts are their weak point. The Panna cotta was bland, and just tasted like milk. The limoncello was missing lemony tang. Textures were good though. The tiramisu proportions were out, with way too much cream. Location and service were great. You get a beautiful view of the bridge and river (although smokers standing just outside stink the place up).

Celebrating our 27th Wedding Anniversary, we could not have been treated better. We went at lunchtime and chose the $90 set menu with unlimited drinks. As my husband is a 4 year sober alcoholic, they gave us unlimited LLB. The portions of food were perfect to fill us up for the rest of the day. Perfectly cooked and delicious. The parking deal was also awesome. $10 for 3 hours. Very close as well. Beautiful view of the Storey Bridge and the Brisbane River. Thank you Massimo.

What an amazing restaurant! The food was fantastic, we ordered a mix of dishes between us (I had the Risotto, spectacular) & shared the whipped ricotta focaccia for entrees. The entrees tonight were good, we enjoyed the entrees the most out of the three courses, they were delicious. Seafood cioppino main, which two of us ordered, the seafood was cooked nicely, except the mussels were a little under done, the sauce was ok it tasted a lot like sea water, there were subtle flavours there but it just wasn’t very good, sadly, wouldn’t order this again. Gorgonzola gnocchi was lovely. Zucchini fritters were ok, the thicker cut ones were better. The deserts were ok. The service tonight was odd. We had at least three servers, although they were nice and friendly, we found them to be unprofessional, one server told us that he had been pulled away to serve his boss’s friends table.... We were told at the beginning of the service that we ‘had a booking for 1.5hrs, and that they were going to have a busy night ahead’. Although this is said with a smile on their face, this is a very unprofessional thing to say to customers. I wonder if this is how the servers choose to greet everyone at Massimo. I think if we had one server rather than 3, perhaps there wouldn’t have been a longer wait time between entrees and mains and then our meal would’ve been completed within the 1.5hr timeframe. 15 or so minutes before our booking was up we made our dessert and coffee orders. Coffee didn’t arrive. Still eating dessert we were given our check and also asked to move/leave, we told the server to give us a few more minutes to finish our meal. Asked for the check to be altered as we hadn’t received the coffees. We had only gone over the booking time by a few minutes at this point 🤔. Our server told us her start time (same girl that took our coffee/dessert order and presented the check with the added cost of coffees that weren’t received) and that she didn’t know what was going on, this is the kind of information that is inappropriate to tell customers, as an excuse for the pressure they feel for moving people on when the booking time is up. Not in a hurry to return to Massimo, poor dining experience really. Perhaps management at Massimo needs to focus on service, considering extending seating time to 2hours, or increasing their staffing?

Although I agree about the review below, as we too were there Valentine’s Day and it wasn’t up to par (this is not the type of restaurant that should do a set menu for crowds on rotation) we have been here many times before and since and would give it 10 stars if I could. Emma, our hostess, was exceptional, talked me through the entire gluten free menu which to my delight included fresh gluten free bread. The food was superb and the service was amazing. We have been many times and it has been fabulous.

Bit disappointed that a top rating, expensive restaurant, let us down in a few ways. Firstly, I emailed the restaurant to change the booking from 4 people to 6. As of now, I still haven't had a reply. So tables were shuffled when we got there. Oysters arrived without oyster forks. Calamari was chewy. Asked for my steak medium, came nearly rare and my plate had blood juice everywhere!! I asked the waitress how she thought it was cooked, reply was 'I don't know, I don't eat steak so have to ask someone '. If you employ staff, I have no issues with them not eating meat, but they should know what a steak should look like. Poor. My 3 carrots were swimming in oil, my friend had veal and disliked it. No one at the table really enjoyed their meal or the service. Would I return, unfortunately no.

My seat cushion was dirty and it appeared that all the others were too. The oysters weren’t fresh and very average for the price. The octopus was great but heavily overpriced. The meatballs were dry and fairly underwhelming. Service was excellent although not all staff were wearing masks which was disappointing!

We had dinner at Massimo on Saturday night and whilst the service was a little slow due to the restaurant being packed and short staffed, the waitress and manageress were both outstanding in their service and offered us complimentary drinks due to short delay ( which really wasn't a problem to me) . The food was excellent and we were left with a good feeling about the place and would definitely return. Sometimes the way a small problem or issue is dealt with makes all the difference.

Being a pretty busy day of the year, I had planned ahead and booked a table for two at this Italian Restaurant. Having seen pictures on social media and lots of positive reviews on various websites, we thought we would be in for great experience 👌🏼 . The night started off with an unexpected queing up outside the restaurant 🤔 "Weird?", we thought but proceeded to join the line and wait to be seated. Our seating was booked for 7:30pm, however, we ended up standing outside the venue (along with everyone else) for nearly half an hour, waiting to be let in to be seated. Surely a luxury dining venue could organize/plan better than this? If we wanted to be seated at 8pm, I would have booked for then or if the venue couldn't keep up with pace with the previous intake of customers, a polite call or message to let us know they were running late would have been appreciated (I tried to call the venue while waiting in line to see if they could explain why we were all standing there for so long staring at a seemingly 3/4 vacated restaurant but the phone went straight to a voice message stating too busy to answer) 🤷‍♂️ . Anyhoo, with that side, we were finally in and seated and ready for the night's set menu. We were greeted with our glasses of Champagne and then the first course of Natural Oyster - it was simple, fresh & tasted nice with the accompaniment of the vinaigrette 👍🏼 . Our next course was supposed to the Wagyu Bresaola with toasted focaccia but due to the busy-ness of the evening they brought out the following dish of Kingfish instead of the Bresaola. Had to tell them we hadn't had the Bresaola yet, so they took the Kingfish back and eventually brought out the Bresaola. This had a strong meaty flavor to it, simple but tasted solid 👍🏼 . After that, out Kingfish Carpaccio came out. Thinly sliced Kingfish with a zesty taste served with a slice of crusty bread. Next was the Bug Spaghetti. Deep flavour to the sauce, pasta cooked nicely al dente, the caviar wasn't really strong tasting but with the Moreton Bay bugs, it went well 👍🏼 . Final main meal was the steak. We really liked this one - cooked nicely, still pink/red in the middle and very tender. The mushrooms accompanying the steak were really yummy to! Definitely the best dish of the night! 🥳 . Then the last dish came out - cheese, fruits and a puff pastry & Vanilla custard dessert. Wifey liked the cheeses and I smashed the puff pastry 👌🏼 . All in all the food here was okay, not sure if it lived up to all the wonderful reviews I had previously read. The steak was by far our most liked dish for the evening, maybe a non-Valentine's Day experience would have been different 🤔 . The service was good, in the fact the staff are all very polite and friendly. However, the organisation/managing of the evening just seemed to fall short of expectations for me from what I'd expect of a venue that pride's itself as a luxury dining experience. The fact our table (along with a few others that we observed) was not served certain dishes from a set menu for the evening, seemed to indicate they didn't know which table was served what yet? Also the whole waiting outside to be let in with no explanation or apologies was really unexpected 🤷‍♂️ . Probably an unpopular opinion but I am going to say it was an okay venue, with friendly staff but it was just a let down by the overall managing/organisation of the night. (And no, I didn't voice the concern on the night - as I did not think it would add any value nor improve the situation anyway) 😶 . Anyway, hopefully everyone had a great Valentine's day 🥳

We visited for dinner on a Saturday night. We booked our table for five online with no problems. Our table was ready for our reservation time. We ordered our first round of drinks however unfortunately it took approximately 30 mins to arrive at our table. Our food order taken promptly and our entrees arrived in good time. The char grilled octopus was described as being tough. The lamb cutlets were delicious. Our main meals took quite a while to come out. It was reasonable considering the restaurant was near or at capacity. The snapper was quite salty to the point where the person who ordered it could not finish it. The crab pasta was nice although a small serving size. The desserts were very nice. The highlight was the staff. All who helped us were lovely and a credit to the restaurant. Overall, we were disappointed with our meals. It is unlikely we will return.

Overall - good size meals, average taste, expensive for what you get. We love Italian and rate this place as poor to average. The food lacks flavour and they skimp on the ingredients. The “creamy” Burrata was watery and tasteless. However the grilled octopus was nice! For mains - the seafood gnocchi tasted of tomato and chilli but I couldn’t taste the seafood. The Ragu was ok, but in reality tasted like a home cooked meal. We had two courses for two people which cost $180. It was probably an $80 meal for my liking.

We attended a Degustation Dinner a few nights ago. The restaurant looked pretty well at capacity to me but Massimo's handled the crowd exceedingly well. We could fault nothing. The food was delicious with portion size spot-on, wine was excellent and we were offered plenty of refills but above all the staff were amazing. Second time here and the place was packed. Service was a very mixed bag. Our main waitress was very attentive and prompt - especially considering how busy it was. However, all other staff weren't great and we had numerous dishes and drinks either completely go missing or brought to us from another tables order. Food also wasn't as good this time around. Not bad but far from great. First time wasn't as busy and our experience was significantly better than this time around.

We went to massimo’s degustation experience this week.( I came across it accidentally via social media. ) What a wonderful night we had. The meals were a great size ( not just one mouthful) and nicely spaced timing. The wines paired with the meals, were generous serves and great quality. Plenty of friendly staff on hand. We went a month ago for the 1st time to celebrate my sister's birthday. It was a lovely surprise to find this fantastic italian restaurant. Great atmosphere, friendly staff. Price was a bit higher but not out of the ordinary for restaurants along Eagle St. Food was very good therefore the price tag was worth it. We especially enjoyed the Burrata Cheese - a very creative and delicious course - which surprised everyone that night. Will definitely be going back again!

Cannot speak highly enough of the food, venue and service at Massimo. It was our work Christmas lunch and we were not disappointed. Everyone enjoyed their meal including prawns, calamari and scallops followed by porchetta, sand crab lasagne and ragu were all amazing and deserts also lovely. The restaurant itself is beautiful and in a lovely location, however the food was very average - a sentiment shared by other guests at our table. I wouldn’t say I enjoyed any of the dishes that we ordered (with the exception of the eggplant parmigiana starter and the dessert), it was just “fine”. The service was very hit and miss throughout the night and lacked the polish you’d expect. The food was unnecessarily slow coming out. I probably wouldn’t bother coming back.

Well what a wonderful way to spend Sunday lunch at Massimo. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We took of advantage of the 3course menu ($70 per person) and weren't disappointed! One of our guests was lactose intolerant and they advised and adjusted (where possible) his menu choices. One guest was pregnant and they again were only to happy to accommodate her choices. My partner and I went to Massimo for our date night. We started with a bottle of ‘Prunotto’ Barbera d’Alba, because let’s face it, red wine is a must. For our starters we had the burrata and an array of cured meats with focaccia. The truffle honey for the burrata was so delicious I ended up pouring this treasured liquid onto my focaccia. After much deliberation we choose the Gorgonzola gnocchi and the spaghetti marinara for our mains. I’m a massive Gorgonzola fan, so the gnocchi for me did not disappoint! One of the chefs recommended the semifreddo al limoncello for dessert and I am so glad he suggested this little slice of heaven, because it was purely divine! On top of the great food, the service was spectacular! We had Juliana serve us and she was just splendid! She was bubbly, kind and also funny. She recommended her personal favourites and honestly made the night that little bit more perfect! Would recommend Massimo to anyone in a heart beat!

She met me at the covid sign-in point and did all the right stuff (I'm 59 it matters to me) and took me to my table pleasantly chatting to me before seating me. She was saying something about a chef's special of the day when the same waiter as last time arrived and took over. (Italian waiter, looks like Jesus) , you'd have to come see for yourself. (I'm catholic, no grief please) Johnathon did all the water stuff, we established I'm a non drinker, he even offered lemon for my sparkling water. I'd come to have the veal cotaletta (thus the back again I'd seen it on another table last time) Johnno was informed that it had slightly changed as the chefs now tenderize the meat before crumbing. nice to know they tell you if the dish has changed in some way. He pointed out the special board on my table ( I'd put the wine list on it) I'm glad he did!! I had a mix meat plate last time (too much for me alone) but the special entrée was perfect. A char grilled panino, burrata cheese, mortadella OMG with truffle shavings. xoxo (I got my waiter to grab a pic of it for me to post as I'd eaten mine before taking a pic at the table lol) Main was the Veal, tender is not the word for it. Delicious, finished in the frier a parmesan crumb, just the right amount of meat, crumb, fat, YUM. no sauce for me , salt and lemon juice!!! So, so good. That's it. No dessert this time. Another great experience. Such great value. See you soon. I only just started going back to eat here since all the venues re opened and only just found I could review on this site while trying to find a way down there for lunch later today. Awesome. Pete

But the food wasnt that amazing, my fiancé order the carbonara cheese wheel, what look so cool, but wasnt that hot and also not good as expected. was explained that after she tried, that was common to the pasta not be hot. I did order the Cioppino, and was ok, the photos and video of the plate give you a ideia what isnt what you taste. i wouldnt have this dish again if i repeat this restaurant. Look so cool but inst good as it look. Little disapointed but is ok, everyone have a different tasty and expectations.

We booked for dinner on Friday night. First time at this venue and it did not disappoint. Location? Check. Warm welcome? Check. We got the booth we had asked for, and our server was bubbly and switched on from the get-go. Our drinks and the appetizers (olives, focaccia and fava bean mousse) arrived immediately, and our starters of swordfish carpaccio were perfectly timed after that. Most of us opted for pasta mains (sand crab linguine, spaghetti aglio olio nduja, gnocchi guanciale and gorgonzola), all of which were absolutely excellent - and just the right size portion too. The lone meat eater raved about the porchetta which came with delicious and crunchy zucchini fritters. Our server kept popping by to check on us and offer more drinks so no need to catch her attention. We were only able to have one perfectly presented vanilla panna cotta as dessert much to our dismay, as otherwise one of us may have exploded. We were all very impressed with the quality of the food and of the service. We reckon our bill was very reasonable too. Highly recommended. I look forward to a return visit!

Confirm dinning time & don’t be shuffled!! My wife & I had our 45 year wedding anniversary dinner at Massimo last night. We secured a 5.45pm reservation knowing we had 1.5 hrs of dinning time. The food & experience was great up until 6.50 when we placed an order for desert & another glass of wine for my wife. At that time the young female waiter said our booth was required for another reservation & that we could eat desert at the bar. We expressed our surprise & disapproval of moving inside the 1.5 hrs, which she reluctantly agreed we had, desert came & we remained eating (no glass of wine for my wife as she felt rushed) until time was up! Sounds petty, but this occurrence dampened the dinning experience. 1 x day later the management contacted me, welcoming the feedback & sincerely apologising for what had happening. They’ve kindly offered to make it up to us should we return, which I said we’d be happy to do. Thank you management team!

We drove from Gold Coast for our booking at 8:30pm, no one addressed us for 20 minutes as we stood at the entrance until finally we were told we would need to wait another ten minutes for our table to be put together at 9pm. Then, our drinks order was not put through and we had to repeat it to another server 10 minutes later where we got an extra drink we never ordered. Food took a long while to come out too and it wasn’t until 10pm we were having dinner finally! After all that, we checked the bill and an extra three course dinner was added we never ordered! Food was great but the service on a Saturday night was appalling.

Setting, looking over the river to the story bridge, and ambience of the restaurant was really good. The cuttlefish was okay. My main, when it came about 15 minutes after the rest of the table, was the sandcrab pasta. The pasta was very underdone and the sandcrab mushy - not at all palatable. The standout was the limoncello semifredo - delicious. It was a mixed bag for the whole table which was disappointing. The other disappointment was that they served dessert (after having to follow up with the staff) without clearing the dishes from the previous course. Staff were friendly. Maybe not the best night to have come.

Had the limoncello for dessert which was just ok as well. Service a little slow to begin with but they were pretty busy and it did improve as the night went on. 3 stars for the food. Sadly, the service we experienced was one star. Wrong drinks delivered, asked many times by different staff if we have ordered, but never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks and were not offered the dessert menu. When we asked for the bill, we sat there waiting for the EFTPOS machine for ages. Finally, when a different waiter noticed my wife & I remained patiently waiting for the machine, we were told ‘obviously the other waiter is very busy’! Small tip for the staff, don’t complain to your patrons that you are ever too busy. Take it up with your manager. That is the person who is in control of how many reservations are accepted and how the staff roster is appropriately organised.

Great food let down by lack lustre waiters. We arrived on time for our 7pm booking and although our waiter was very polite and diligent she struggled to understand that my wife wanted a Mojito and kept thinking it was a mocktail. I ended up having to go to the bar myself to order the right drink. You'd expect waiters to have a great knowledge of the food at a fine Italian restaurant but unfortunately we couldn't get clear answers. Food was absolutely delicious but due to the miscommunications / misunderstandings we didn't end up receiving our dinner until 1hr after arrival. I was asked if I want another glass of rosé and when I agreed I got delivered a glass of delicious Shiraz instead, no complaints. Empty glasses were also left on our table for too long despite new drinks had arrived. My wife then ordered a whiskey sour but got delivered an amaretto sour. A total comedy of errors. Food was 9/10 but waiters just need some sharper training.

Where to start with this mouth-watering experience? Firstly, we were greeted by friendly staff who informed us about a fixed price dinner which meant meals were discounted to match lunch prices. Secondly, the general atmosphere with the restaurant is really nice, fine-dining by the river, and the decor is amazing throughout Massimo. We were seated at a table with a magnificent view of the Story Bridge and it shun in the distance as we were given our menus. There are plenty of options, so many that it was hard to narrow it down to a couple of items for dinner. The flavours were superbly decadent and were some of the most uniquely perfect flavours I’d ever tasted. The zucchini fritters were not as expected, however, were full of flavour and were delicious. The creamy mushroom risotto was delicately flavoured and had such a unique flavour which was enjoyed with the fabulous flavour and texture. Lamb shoulder was so tender it fell apart in my mouth as the flavours sizzled on my tongue. Each and every dish was perfect. All in all, the service as well as the dishes, makes this one of our most delicious fine dining experiences ever devoured in Brisbane. Thank you for such an a amazing dinner.

Average service ... we ordered Lamb and scallops for entree and only got the scallops. When asked about it, it took them 10 minutes to find out what’s going on ... and guess what our order wasn’t in their system?! Bizarre!! As for the main the gnocchi was awfully salty, however the sand crab pasta wasn’t too bad. Overall, it is not a place that I’d be going back to at all!

Just divine! Attended last week with work friends and looking forward to returning. Beautiful and clean restaurant, lovely decor.. First time visitor with colleagues who HIGHLY recommended the restaurant to me. The male waiter was polite and courteous and a llady by the name of Laura (the manager I’m assuming) made us feel right at home. She is an asset to your team! Food was delectable, gnocchi and sand crab pasta was sublime, the porchetta and chargrilled prawns I will come back for. This restaurant couldn’t come more highly recommended.

Awesome value BNE dine in menu, the foccacia was unfortunately a little stale though! However it made up for it by the fresh oysters and delicious whole marron with perfectly al dente pasta, a first for Brisbane! The tiramisu is to die for too! We enjoyed a delicious meal at Massimo Restaurant this evening. We were greeted warmly by Rachel who led us to a table for two overlooking the Brisbane River and Story Bridge - a beautiful backdrop. The menu was extensive and we enjoyed a variety of entrees prior to our main courses. The servings were large and authentically Italian, and the prices very reasonable. The staff were excellent and very attentive to our every need (particularly Jonathan). We will definitely return to Massimo on our next visit to Brisbane.
