Comments of Montrachet

Finally went to Montrachet for the first time. I booked this table about 2 months ago. They didn’t disappoint me at all.
Food is amazing. Service is impeccable. Very impressive wine list. We ordered entree and main each and 3 desserts to share between 6 of us. We were all stuffed walking out the restaurant. Good portion and reasonable price.
If you like french food, make a booking now.

We had a lovely evening at Montrachet. The food was delicious and well presented, the wine recommendation was perfect and the service was friendly, efficient, and well paced. The scene stealer for us though, was the absolutely wonderful bread! It came with homemade butter and was delightful.

Exquisite dining experience! Impeccable service from start to finish, lovely, intimate dining atmosphere and great food. Really wanted to try the duck but sadly they ran out - oh well, another time! Will definitely be back.

My husband and I had the most beautiful lunch here - it's been on our list a long time and did not disappoint. The interior is lovely, great recommendations for champagne and wine, and we absolutely loved the tasting menu. The waiters were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional - a step above many places we have been to. Would highly recommend for a special occasion, or just to treat yourself. We will be back!

Do yourselves a favour and book a table!!! The food is impeccable, delicately presented and tastes sensational! My partner is a coeliac and we were pleasantly surprised when we were informed that they had many gluten free items, which is always a nice surprise. The service is on point, it's no wonder they are recipients of many awards! Go team!

Bon Appétit: Overall, my experienced was excellent, food was deliciously made, the wine pairing was perfect, and the service was outstanding, also the staff were not intruding (perfect balance of distance & attention), while making sure you been looked after. I think Montrachet restaurant is underrated by the Australian Good Food Guide which has a rating of 13, Montrachet is better than to some higher rating restaurant that i been to.

We had dinner here last year. Good food and exceptional service. Would recommend for a special occasion!

Highly recommended !
I've had quite a few dining experiences like this, and I have to say this was definitely the best restaurant in Brisbane.
Additionally, the waitress seemed to have a high knowledge of food and I felt that they cared about us a lot.
I really appreciate it♥️
Thank you for making our day.

I've been here many times and it continually exceeds my expectations, solidifying itself as one of the best restaurants in Brisbane, certainly one of the most consistent. Impeccable service, delicate flavours, formidable wine list, elegant ambiance, and beautiful desserts. What more could you ask for?

We had the tasting menu and it was so good. We were allowed to swap out our mains on the night. Service was outstanding and our experience was excellent from start to finish. Will be back. Thank you Montrachet.

Wonderful refine french brassiere dining experience to celebrate hubby’s birthday. Each meal is pleasing to see and tastes amazing. Team makes you feel so special from the time you enter the restaurant. Can’t find fault. Deserves a 5 star ⭐️ rating. Highly recommended!👍👌👏😍🥰🤩

Great fine dining experience. Friendly staff and service. Amazing tasting must have a try.

Foie gras was TDF! (Just wishing there was more bread lol) Anyway, food and ambiance is amazing - will definitely go back for the creme brulee! 🤩
C. S.
Fine produce expertly handled elevates each dish at Montrachet. Add attentive waitstaff and a knowledgeable, perceptive sommelier and a meal becomes a memorable experience. Highly rated.

Pretty darn amazing! My friend and I went on the Friday before Brisbane flooded. It had been raining heavily all day and I want sure if I still wanted to go out. But I looked at the menu online and thought, I can't miss this, it all sounds amazing! Thus, slightly bedraggled, off we went. And man was it worth it!
Tommy's Margarita to start, perfect, nice and tart. My friend had the Money Penny, which is too sweet for me but she loved. French onion soup - sublime. Duck for main - I love duck and this was just perfect. The duck was done two ways, slow cooked and pan rendered and as a ragu. Both delicious. My friend had the eye fillet and enjoyed that thoroughly. We shared a side of Paris Mash which was creamy and delicious. And creme brulee to finish. One of my favourite desserts and definitely lived up to my expectations.
Service was fab, very smooth and no issues.
100% will go back.

Fantastic food and particularly great service from all the team. Loved it.

Wonderful food, wonderful service, great atmosphere and attention to detail. We booked in last minute for an impromptu big night out and were sat at the bar. Even if you can't get a table, the bar seats are still so worth it.
We ordered a starter of Foie Gras that was absolutely divine, and then a 3 course meal each. Every course was great.
A truly lovely dining experience.
A. O.
The food and service was excellent. I would definately go again. I also felt that the tables were purposely spread out to allow for social distancing. That along with the qr scanned menus and sign in shows that they are taking good steps to keeping their customers safe from covid
W. C.
A Brisbane institution. Every dish was on point and stafff were great, the ambience was a perfect mix of energy but cosiness. Definitely recommend coming here for a special date night or event, don't forget to get the baguette with truffle butter!
J. R.
My friend and I have been talking about Montrachet a few years ago and somehow missed this place during our food safaris. Finally tonight we made it. I was expecting more traditional heavy French dishes. But ends up with more modern Australian with French Twist? Nice but still a bit disappointed. I have fasted for two days and ready for the calories....then I got this....nice but too healthy...I would say. $200 for five courses with matching wine. The matching wine was nice. Everything was nice. But still. I do miss the butter and calories..........for me, that’s the essence of French cuisine...........
M. R.
The best meal for for a long time with exquisite food and professional staff. Fantastic chef and great wine list. My wife has some very specific allergies and it was so refreshing to have a chef who took this as a challenge and produced the best vegan/sugar free/gluten free meals and desserts I have ever seen! Thank you. The throws to keep your knees warm whilst outside dining were a great touch.
K. M.
Very good food and service. Each course was equally well prepared and the table service, on point. Wine recommendations were spot on and the whole experience was good value in my opinion. There are many more things I’d like to try in the menu so I’ll definitely be going back.
Can recommend.
N. G.
Really yum restaurant. Myself and my partner had the crab and Gruyere cheese souffle for entree, the bouillabaisse and fish special (Murray cod) for mains and the Opera gateau and rhubarb compote for dessert. Of these the two desserts were really the standouts.
Also had the Domaine Schlumberger Pinot Gris. This was actually the best part of the meal as it's a really extraordinarily good wine. The Chateau La Caussade Sante Croix Du Mont desert wine was also quite special.
Also there service deserves a call out as the staff are really good.
S. E.
Everything we ordered was fresh, well presented and cooked to perfection. Timing of each course was excellent even with a packed room.
The staff and service received was impeccable.
I was hoping for a few more top end rums to be available, but I’m probably being a bit picky.
Seating is fairly tight, could be a concern if the next table was loud or inappropriate – we didn’t have any problem but could see it arise especially if looking for an intimate experience.
The dining room was spotless, everywhere I looked, could not fault it.
This is everything you expect fine dining to be.
Extremely well done to all involved.
S. F.
By far the best restaurant we've eaten at to date. Service - 5 (staff very attentive and easy to talk to), Ambience - 5 (the decore is fantastic), food - 10 (that's out of 5! amazing, tasty, portion size, flavours, presentation, etc etc) Drinks - 4. Such a variety. Wines, cocktails, spirits. Deduct 1 for beers. Needs more variety. My only minor issue. Overall score? 5^10 = 9,765, 625 out of 5! Amazing. Make sure you eat here. You won't regret it.

This restaurant is simply amazing. The service is outstanding, in simple words: perfect. Food is incredible. If I could give six stars I would do it. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brisbane's BEST RESTAURANT by far.
My wife and I dine out all the time as if it was our job. Europe, USA, NZ or Australia. It is our thing to hunt down the best experience possible and we do not penny pinch in our efforts to do so. We often engage staff on to see how they respond and because we love to hear their ideas. We appreciate and respect those who do this for a career and Montrachet is the best team example I have seen in QLD yet. Possibly the best overall dining experience I have had in Brisbane in the last 10 years. There is a starvation in Queensland for places that can naturally emulate the flair of a good European restaurant. We heard good things about the new Montrachet and were eager to watch them "do their thing".
This Friday evening we booked to sit at the bar and not a table on purpose. We can see more interaction between the staff and watch them work. For us we want a show. A great dining experience is like a "ballet" and this is Montrachet. Complex, but fluid and smooth. The entire team have genuine natural smiles with good candid natures. This is hard to find as many staff are often routine, caught-up and complacent. It is clear the Montrachet team like each other and if not, they certainly respect each other. We watch for this team interaction often and seldom see things working this well. I particularly noticed the 'fit-out' was top notch - super clean and well designed. Sitting there at the bar sipping my wine and watching the harmony of the place, I would not have known which city I was in nor which country. I was lost in the atmosphere of dinners arriving with staff busily and eagerly pleasing those that sat down.
The food was superb. Scallop and Tartare entrees beautifully designed and presented as expected and accompanied with lovely local breads and unique butters. The mains were so good I had two!! Venison outstanding and Lamb although not my style was excellently designed and cooked. Very tender cuts which to me can only be carefully chosen and accompanied by lovely delicate sides. The wine menu was very good too with excellent support from all staff. Great selection of French wine by glass on Coravin which to me is a must today. A friendly happy Sommelier who was very switched on to all those that used him and conversational without being pretentious - bravo. The whole team read people well and showed enthusiasm. Quite a sense of maturity with how they all handled their roles which I think is rare down under. Irena needs a mention - she was personal and sweet with big smiles. Excellent evening - there was nothing they could have done better for us.
A notch up on the old Montrachet by far.
The recent awards for Queensland Restaurant of the Year should have gone to Montrachet and not to some stuck up 'scene' in a Hotel.
Well done team Montrachet and thank you.
C.
Great food and great service. Probably a little to fancy for me to visit often I prefer a bit of a chill vibe, but the staff do an excellent job at keeping your glasses full and the food is amazing
C. D.
Fine dining at its best! Absolutely loved the food and so the wine! Staff is friendly and helpful, and we absolutely enjoyed the lunch!
J.
Came here to celebrate birthday dinner with my partner. Great customer service and cosy environment. Most importantly, the food is amazing!! Had their degustation. My favourite is definitely the salmon. They even made up mocktail for the driver. Wine matching was good too! Worth a try!
V. T.
Food was excellent as always. Service also very amazing. Highly recommended.
You definitely need to book and if you get a chance, check out the Supper Club on Saturdays. The chef gets to experiment and you will get to experience food that is out of this world
A. A.
We just had the loveliest evening at Montrachet! We were privileged to enjoy the Saturday 5 course supper club: each course better than the last and the service was overwhelming. Nothing was too much trouble and helpful suggestions were made before we even had the chance to ask! The maître d' was warm and charming and despite being the last group to leave the ambient and enchanting restaurant all members of staff present said goodbye with a smile and enquired as to our plans for the rest of the night rather than shoving us out the door. How refreshing!
While waiting for my transport I overheard a conversation between a member of the kitchen staff and a waiter regarding their favourite restaurants in France, the techniques of the chefs they most admired and the concept of haute cuisine. I was in awe of their passion but not surprised by it as it comes across in the food and the way they present it.
Well done and well deserved Montrachet!
Merci beaucoup!
G.
I’ve been here twice now, for a degustation and an a la carte dinner during the week. I’ve still not had anything less than perfect. It’s an expensive restaurant but the food is consistently amazing and as a bonus there aren’t any really weird experimental dishes that seem to be popular in other places these days, just really good French food!
T. B.
Yet again absolutely brilliant. Which is I guess unsurprising given the number of awards they keep acquiring.
The Montrachet team make you feel like you're at the centre of a production with their professionalism and meticulous service.
And then the food just has to be experienced to be believed; flawless.

From Paddington to Bowen Hills this iconic restaurant has evolved over the years.
The menu at Montrachet encapsulates the evolution of French cuisine. Whilst continuing to serve the classic dishes that regulars have come to know and love such as the steak and frites, crab soufflé.

Thank you to all the staff at Montrachet for a wonderful night. From the moment we arrived until we left (5 hours later), the service was impeccable, attentive without being visible, the food was a delight to the eyes and tastebuds and the wines perfect for each course.
S. T.
Wonderful degustation and excellent service at this establishment. Modern Australian meets French flavours. The pate was out of this world, and Moreton Bay bug tartare couldn't be any more interesting.
L. C.
Beautiful food, exquisitely presented, first class service, a totally wonderful dining experience here...absolutely faultless:) Thank you to all the staff for making our night feel special with your care.
J. S.
Food is amazing nice flavour
K. G.
Modern and Good Food. Prepare to wait if you arrive early, likely because place is usually full of dinners. Lavatory outside.
J. T.
Top notch service and food tucked away in a little secret corner. Grilled oyster with foie gras butter and sauternes had very nice play of flavours . The Soufflé au Crabe et au Gruyère was really really special and a definite must try. Chocolat de Passion is basically a party of flavours. Will definitely be back. Saw many people having the scallops and the steak. Will try that next time.
M. S.
Qr code and proof of covid vax on entry. Good.
Super friendly and efficient front of house staff. Extensive menu and wine list and amazing food. Greay to celebrate 75th!
L. M.
Free parking wonderful. Service and attention by all staff ,to detail, was first class but the food surpassed everything. It was truly a pleasurable dining experience. Highly recommend.
D. K.
Thoroughly enjoyed the delicious and quality meals served here, and the service is remarkable too. Will definitely be back again.

One of the best French restaurants I've been to in Brisbane. Impeccable service and fantastic food & wine. Will definitely be back for more!

Wow. Great French Restaurant. Great service. Will go back
Well came back 9 moths later for friday lunch. Just as good

Saturday set menu, every plate was absolutely delicious and the wine pairing was perfect..
R. O.
We can't fault Montrachet. Sometimes it's worth paying more for food that is devine and wine that's delicious! The service was impeccable, all aspects were amazing. We dined with our very well behaved 7yr old in tow and didn't feel frowned upon for havinga child with us. She loved her kids steak and said it was the best 'non dry' steak she's ever had! We'll be back to spoil ourselves again without a doubt. Thank you so much, the work you all put it really does make a difference 🙏 Highly recommended *****
S. S.
Stunning Restaurant, Food and Wine was fabulous, but most of all the service was impeccable! We will be back.
V. B.
Flawless! What an amazing evening. Service as good as anywhere I've been. Lovely calm and knowledgeable about their menu and wine list.
Food that leaves me in awe. From the simplicity of the King St Bakery breads to the complexity of a duck main presented so beautifully.
I cannot wait to return. One of the few restaurants that exceeds your expectations no matter how high they may be.
A. C.
We hired the private dining room for a family celebration of a birthday and the award of a PhD. What a fantastic experience the family enjoyed. Everyone had a great time. The surroundings were perfect for the occasion. The food was absolutely fantastic - the entire menu appealed. The wait-staff looked after us very professionally. We all loved the evening and can highly recommend it.
P. V.
Went there the other night for my 25th birthday, everything was amazing!
The staff was super lovely and looked after us well!
The food I have no words to describe, probably the best food Ive had since I moved to Brisbane!
Thank you so much for everything
D. K.
Thank you so much to the entire Montrachet team for making my birthday so special! We had an incredible time in the private dining room and were very well looking after by Matthew. The food (as usual) was to die for and the wine was incredible. We can't wait to come back again and again (and again).
C. S.
Couldn't have chosen a better place for our wedding anniversary dinner. The menu is irresistible and the wine list outstanding. The decor is warm and inviting and the restaurant staff are friendly and attentive - and knowledgeable in offering suggestions for food and wine pairings. A delightful experience that is well and truly recommended. We'll definitely return for more!

My boyfriend took me here for my Birthday and to be honest, I didn't think the steak here would beat the best steaks I've had. I was wrong! The price is decent and the quality of service is out of this world.
Montrachet is the combination of all different restaurants I often go to.
S. L.
As you walk in you are greeted by a beautiful setting. All the team members are lovely and take well care of you from the start. The tables are not too small and you have plenty of space.
As for the pièce de resistance: you can find on the menu traditional classic of French cuisine but also more contemporary items that brings an overall well balanced experience. The extended wine list will allow you to pair your meal at a reasonable price.
Overall a wonderful experience at a reasonable price. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t be dining here every week, but for what you get. It is a nice French restaurant in Brisbane that breaks away from the very expensive so call French restaurant.
Merci à l’équipe pour avoir pris l’effort de faire de notre soirée une soirée mémorable.
M. Q.
Excellent food. Excellent service. The only thing that could have been done better were the pommes frites.
C. D.
Lovely experience and well priced for the quality, innovation and service. Rare these days to get the level of service, with experienced, well dressed and well spoken wait staff. Highly recommend. Don't just save this for a special occasion, this is a 'let's go out and have a lovely evening restaurant' regardless of any occasion. Nice to see the tradition of excellence for Montrachet being adhered too and even added to beautifully by owners/chef Shannon and Clare Kellam.
D. R. O.
You will need to book well in advance! The food was of high quality and beautifully cooked. There was a limited menu but the range of dishes offered was good. The French onion soup was tasty but delicately flavoured, poorer versions are much too strong. The portions are deceptive. They looked small but I struggled to finish dessert which was probably the best creme brulee I had eaten and could not manage a suitable liqueur to accompany it. It is definitely not a low to medium priced venue but it was very good value. We will be back! (And they even humoured my French!!)
N. a. C. M.
Delicious food, decent portion sizes and attentive staff. My wife travelled to France 2 years ago and still raves about the food and beautiful people, so I naturally took her to Montrachet for her birthday. The staff were so friendly and thoughtful that they came out with a piece of their Opera cake with a candle in it for our dessert. Fine dining worth the price and worth the wait
D. B.
Very nice full-service, high-end restaurant. Almost exclusively tables for 2, I'd reccomend for any classy date nights if you have the money to spare. Fixed price menu plus extras including the table water, bread, some specials etc.
Incredible wine selection, and knowledgeable and helpful staff to really help with selecting and guaranteeing an incredible delight for the senses.
Best duck (main meal) I've ever had.
N. V.
My friends and I ordered the eat at home packs with a range of different entrees, mains, and desserts. Everything was simply to put together and delicious. Having also eaten at the restaurant itself I was impressed at how high the standard of these packs were. Well played.
C. S.
One of the best restaurants in Brisbane! We enjoyed the tasting menu with wine pairing, and were delighted with robust flavours and sophisticated technique and presentation. The Morton bay bug, lamb main and peach raspberry dessert were standouts. Thank you for a fantastic meal and warm, attentive service. Highly recommended!
F. W.
Ate here with my husband and two other couples on Friday night… It lives up to the hype.
Food was sensational, drinks sensational, service sensational, and I’ve definitely paid more for less.
We did feel rushed out (with the COVID time limit), but other than that I couldn’t fault it.
I wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.
K. E.
I went there half year ago, everything is fantastic in Montrachet, hopefully it can keep the quality for my next time return :)
D. B.
We enjoyed a takeaway dinner on Friday night, having read about the service in the paper the previous weekend. It was amazing. The dishes were very easy to 'finish off' for eating thanks to the clear instructions provided and to the efficient packaging of the food. Friends have asked me what is the point of takeaway if you have to cook. But, the 'cooking' involved is minimal, takes a short time and the result is fresh, superbly tasting food.
Well done Montrachet, and I wish you all the best over the coming months. Stay strong.
B. S.
Simply amazing French haute cuisine in a charming atmosphere with attentive service. Not cheap, but well worth it. The degustation menu is a fabulous special occasion treat for the foodie in your life.
G. B.
Exquisite is the first word that comes to mind. We booked a table of two for our anniversary, the ambience was very French, a restaurant to enjoy great company however still intimate for couples. We were greeted with the staff knowing it was our anniversary and had a couple of glasses of the sparkling to start, thanks to the Manager Romain. The staff were excellent, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Tanya who served us most of the night was fantastic, Alexi the sommelier was extremely familiar with the wines available and chose the perfect wine for us.. Now the food was just to die for, really!! The entree's, our main courses and deserts where absolutely perfect and I feel you could not get any better! We adore Montrachet and will return. Brisbane has so many beautiful fine dining restaurants however this French beauty is at the top of our list.. Thank you to all the staff again, we were very grateful for your hospitality.. Grant and Sylvia...

The tasting menu with matching wines was phenomenal. Really enjoyed the night out

Wonderful long luncheon at Montrachet Restaurant this week. Food is delicious. Can’t ever go past the Crab Soufflé, and the Eye Fillet with fries and salad are cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce was especially delicious. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, which further enhanced our luncheon. Ramon recommended an absolutely mouth pleasuring Bordeaux, which we savoured with much delight. We were lucky to get in with very short notice, as the Restaurant rapidly filled up and re-sat tables.
K. S.
Recently had dinner at this wonderfull restaurant. To say the experience was outstanding would be a gross understatement.
The food was delicious from the snail entree, the duck through to the creme brûlée +.
The staff were attentive and understated and the red that was selected for me was the perfect accompaniment to my lamb meal.
The prices are fair considering the quality of the food and service.
All in all brilliant, thank you.
S. S.
An amazing experience. The food is spectacular and priced well for the amazing quality. So Covid safe with plenty room between tables and a generous 2 hour seating time unheard of in these times. Service is impeccable. Montrachet just gets better and better every time I come.
P. H.
We had a wonderful night at Montrachet for my wife's birthday recently. The food was fantastic and we enjoyed the dining experience. The staff we very helpful, experienced and pleasant throughout the evening.
I would recommend others try.
J. L.
First time at Montrachet and it was SUCH a magical experience with my partner and I! We were seated at the bar which I thought would reduce the experience but not the case! The attentiveness of the staff and the knowledge of the food and the food was out of this world! Feels like you stepped into old world Paris which is much welcomed with all the travel bans. New restaurant to add to the rotation!
T. L.
This is by far the best restaurant in Brisbane. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The food simply speaks for itself - regular menu changes ensures that you always have a difficult choice to make. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.....
K. C.
We were five females celebrating a 70th birthday of one of the ladies. The food was divine, especially the crab souffle. We all enjoyed our mains which were cooked to perfection. The waiting staff were very attentive, helpful and polite without being pushy. I intend to take my partner there for his birthday later this year.
S. D.
Five star all the way! We thoroughly enjoyed our recent visit to Montrachet. It's fine dining and you can tell. The meals were superb, the drinks kept flowing and the service was excellent.
A. S.
Our 56th wedding anniversary could not have been spent at a more outstanding restaurant in Brisbane. The food was superb, accomplished talented kitchen with knowledge of how to prepare classic French food. The staff delightful, so pleasant and professional which created alone the relaxed ambience of a true restaurant.
Thank you Montrachet for the memory.
J. Z.
Had an amazing meal here tonight. The food was top notch - delicious and cooked with finesse. The service was just fantastic as well, from all the staff - very friendly, professional and attentive. Would highly recommendable.
K. R.
We dined here Tuesday evening with friends and it was superb. This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants that we have been to in Brisbane. The food was delicious and plentiful, the wine was excellent and the service was outstanding, but not intrusive. In fact, Montrachet reminded us of Noosa, classy yet not 'snobby'. I highly recommend Montrachet and we look forward to returning in the future.
D. W.
My husband took me for my birthday and everything was impeccable. Every singler server went out of their way to provide top quality service. Our water glasses were never empty and they were so attentive. The food was of the highest quality, every course component so completely delicious. The husband and i have decided that this will be our special date night spot from now on. Will definitely be a return customer
M. W.
What a beautiful experience. Food out of this world. Wine list amazing. So great to see Shannon and Claire - your dedication and hard work is incredible. Amazing customer service and so good to see Tania again. Thank you for looking after us and thank you for a wonderful night.
N. T.
Incredible and very polished service, which for Brisbane is saying something. Couple this with an extensive wine collection to choose from and carefully blended degustation dishes, will leave you wanting to come back. Thank you for making the evening so memorable, I look forward to returning when next in Brisbane.
T. A.
Great Degustation with wine pairing meal. Claire and Shannon are great hosts. Highly recommended. Our recent visit was equally terrific Souffle and boulabaise to die for, so good!!!!
C. B.
Wonderful experience all round.
Staff are extremely attentive and accomodating of special requests. Staff are also well versed in the dishes and wines. Nothing feels forced, interactions are genuine. Shout out to Roman as well, stellar service. We were impressed.
We dined as part of the Supper Club and I was able to try dishes I would never have tried otherwise. Flavourful dishes. I loved the mushroom ravioli, it was the dish of the night for me. Husband enjoyed the duck breast.
Give this place a whirl. Perfect for date night or celebration of a special occasion.
J. C.
We had a wonderful dinner date, the food was amazing! The cocktails were great and we will 100% be visiting again. The atmosphere of the restaurant was beautiful, relaxing and comfortable, all the staff were very friendly.
Thank you all for a lovely night, time just flew when we were there.
V. T.
Went here for a birthday dinner and was thoroughly impressed by the quality and creativity of fine food on display. Service was excellent, our waiter was very genuine and attentive (but not overly), providing us with knowledgeable descriptions of the food and even the recipe for some components on request. We both had the tasting menu, and the restaurant was able to cater towards my girlfriend for her pescatarian needs. The dishes that came out were all of excellent quality, of note the smoked milk pasta, the very interesting take on raclette, and the scallops.
C. S.
Really good chocolate mousse! Staff are really kind and smiling
I found that the music is too old and maybe too cliché... but I really enjoyed my time there
H. M.
The service was attentive and professional without being intrusive. Our meals were served promptly and were excellent. The atmosphere made our experience a joy. All up, Montrachet was one of the best dining experiences we have enjoyed in Brisbane.
A. L.
It was a special occasion (but a last-minute reservation) – even better than the original Montrachet (which was always wonderful).
Food exquisite; service friendly and knowledgeable; wine-list and sommelier outstanding. I thought that at least I would be able to complain that the music was a little loud but somebody unobtrusively adjusted that before I even had a chance to ask!
A wonderful night. Thank you
R.
Superb. Relaxed ambience with attentive but not intrusive waitstaff, knowledgeable sommelier, solid cocktails and absolutely cracking food, cheese and coffee. Music just noticeable which was perfect.
Only one slightly pretentious moment when my partner (a French speaker) was asked if we needed "help with the French words" on the menu, but I suppose they get a lot of locals who do need the help. Maybe "let me know if there are any unfamiliar terms" would be a more polite way of phrasing it.
Overall a lovely night and we left full, relaxed and impressed. Will be back.
S. O.
First of all the service from our Lady was fantastic. We also had a lovely meal, the crab soufle was out of this world. But all the food was delicious. Great anniversary celebration 💙

Valentines Day at Montrachet
Absolutely delicious. I have been so excited to dine at Montrachet and looking forward to it for a long time. I purchased a gift voucher for my partners birthday last year and we were originally going to book in for the supper club however instead booked for Valentines Day. The staff were so attentive and friendly and really made the evening feel special. The food was out of this world! The wine was superb and of course the company was perfect.
S. A.
All I can say is WOW!
I'd been wanting to come here for some time after hearing great things!
We booked in for dinner and sat up at the bar.
We chose the tasting menu and were not disappointed!
Every single staff member made our night special - so welcoming, so inviting and accommodating!
Montrachet is my little piece of France here in Australia!
A. G.
Went for lunch with my husband and it was amazing. All of the food was absolutely delicious, wonderful selection of french wine and to top it all off the service was outstanding. Couldn't fault it and can't wait to go back.
N. R.
Came here with the missus (absolutely stunning she was!) and high expectations due to being booked out for weeks in advance. My expectations were well exceeded - imagine Elaine (from Sienfeld) reaction after tasting Soup Nazis' soup for the first time. The service from the amazing and knowledgeable staff (thanks Tanya!) who seem to have the right combination of friendliness and professionalism and they knew their drinks and food menu so well. The decore, the ambiance from the lighting to the chill jazz/house background music at just the right levels all create the perfect experince - then the Food and Drinks complete the adventure. Wow - i have had good food locally and internationally but this is up there with the best. I have never wanted to eat incredible tasting food so slowly. Each mouthful demanded a few minutes of appreciation. The wines paired with desert were a match made in heaven. The cocktails were art. You must experience this quality. Will be book in regularly. Thank you much for staying open late for us too!
A. M.
Our favourite restaurant in Brisbane. We love the food, the ambiance and the service. The Montrachet team really focus on making sure you not only enjoy the food but the whole experience.
K. M.
If you are wanting an authentic French experience in this time of covid where we can only travel in our own backyard then look no further. Exceptional service, authentic French food and a wonderful decor any Francophile would be proud of, do yourself a favour and visit Montrachet, you will not be disappointed. Our Meal was fantastic, without a doubt the crab soufflé and the signature dessert are standouts, but all was amazing. Will be return patrons for sure.
n.
Beautiful dinner for four that lived up to and exceeded expectations. The gruyere crab soufflé was sensational - just perfectly done. My seafood bouillabaisse was very generous with the amount of seafood and variety in it and the broth was perfect. Others had the salt crusted lamb which was highly rated. Our Server was lovely and really efficient. It’s not a cheap outing but well worth it for a special occasion.
C. F.
Very nice setting and great wine selection. Staff were attentive and overall the service was of a high standard. We got the 7 course degustation with matched wines and each of the courses was nice. I'm not giving 5 stars as overall I felt that, while each dish was nice, the food lacked a certain wow factor that I would expect from a restaurant with the reputation and $$$ of Montrachet.
A. C.
What an amazing dinner and experience! The food was exceptional and the service brilliant. The wine list was extensive. Could not fault it. One of the best French dinners we have had in Australia.
M. o.
From being met with door opened for us at Montrachet it didn't fault. Made to feel comfortable & guided through the menu & wines. The food presented well & tastes delicious. Doesn't disappoint at all
F. H.
Montrachet is our "go to" restaurant for special occasions. Our last visit was as wonderful as our first in Paddington. The service is spot on friendly, without being intrusive. The food was once again fabulous, cooked perfectly, tasty, beautifully presented. The Bouillabaisse was even better than on previous visits. The Opera Cake was so good my husband didn't get a taste. We will keep going back for those special occasions. Thank you to everyone for maintaining the high level of food and service, for years.
S. H.
We are a group of seven. Just finished watching a play and needing coffee and dessert. It's quite late in the evening.
Oh, and "What time do you close please?"
Reply, "Whenever you are ready leave."
Absolute courtesy at it's best.
The Manager, Gilbért and Gertrude were so accommodating. They made us comfortable at the outdoor setting where we wanted. Honestly, they could not do enough for us! They kept fussing, making us feel like we were very important and this place is "Top Notch."
The coffees were delicious and the desserts were heavenly.
We say 10 stars out of 5!
Thankyou.
M. M.
Last night we dressed up and had the Ham and Parsley Terrine, Crab Soufflé and St Agur Gnocchi - superb - and we ate this while on facetime with Liz as she had oysters and the Crab Soufflé- cheers to a wonderful celebration of Wednesday in Lockdown 🥂 Thanks to Take Away from Montrachet
J. B.
The food is amazing, simple dishes done really well with small twists. This is fine dining at its best. Great place to take someone out on a date or even just to experience the food. We will come back again.Even while dining at a super-classy restaurant last night, I was comparing it to Montrachet, or talking about some of the great things about Montrachet while I should have been focusing on the place at which I was currently dining.
K. H.
We went to Montrachet for the first time recently and absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, the service was friendly and very professional, the atmosphere was great as were the matching wines. Loved it and will definitely go again. And again.
A. B.
First time visiting after a long absence.. realised why I loved and still love Montrachet so much. Exceptional service, particularly the sommelier, coupled with great dishes. The crab souffle is always a favourite and the cherry duck was divine. I won't leave it so long between visits. Thank you Montrachet.
A. S.
Hadn’t been to Montrachet since it moved to its current premises and if anything it’s better than I remembered it. The food, the wine list, the service - faultless. Probably the best restaurant in Brisbane and up there with the best in the country.
D. C.
A beautiful place to experience from the Parisienne inspired interiors, down to the delicious food and incredible service. It was a flawless dinner and a wonderful experience. I booked for my fiancé's birthday and the staff really put in the effort to make it special, he was thrilled.
N. Y.
One of the best meals I’ve personally had in Brisbane.. Our waiters and waitresses were also very attentive and provided excellent service. Highly recommended!
B. J.
Exceptional from arrival ... a must dining destination. We were transported somewhere very special. It is Brisbane and then again not. Nourished by masterfully delicious food, exquisite wines and impeccably attended to ... a dining experience that exuded casual elegance. Oh, and the venue itself is perfection. Montrachet ... thank you.
L. L.
I cannot speak more highly of the friendly, professional amazing experience I had having lunch at Montrachet Restaurant in Brisbane. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly, shown to our table and introduced to our engaging waitress. The flavour, taste and presentation of our food was phenomenal so we were more than happy to pay the prices expected for this 5-star restaurant. The fact that there is no outlook is compensated for by the elegant, interesting interior accompanied by an extensive wine cellar on show and the lovely, refined atmosphere. Parking is either on the street outside or better still at a Carpark Station only about 50 metres away to enable no time restraint. I shall mention in passing that the only concern we had while there was the close proximity of the tables for two on either side of us. Not a major issue and I know it is a trend these days but for the privacy and comfort of your clientele a little more space between tables would be appreciated. Overall a truly wonderful experience which we all deserve when we venture out to celebrate life at a Restaurant.
S. B.
Absolutely perfect dining experience.
I have been wanting to try Montrachet for quite a while and it exceeded my expectations.
It was a lovely catch up with a good friend and we were so impressed with the impeccable service and wine suggestions from Alexi and incredible meals.
All was enjoyed in a beautiful elegant dining space.
Fantastic restaurant!!!
A. B.
I’ve not one to leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Montrachet, which raises the bar in fine dining in Brisbane. From the wine, to the service to the dessert, Montrachet nailed it. Thanks again, will definitely be back soon.
H. B.
Top notch!
My son and I enjoyed a birthday dinner last night.
Between us, we sampled four dishes from the entree selections, and shared the dessert special.
As he is largely vegetarian, and I have some eating issues after radiation therapy, I'm delighted to report that we devoured every single mouthful of our order.
The quality and dedication to perfection from the kitchen was evident across all meals.
From a warm welcome upon arrival, we received unparalleled professional service from the staff - even an excellent recommendation as to our choice of wine.
Every aspect of our experience at Montrachet was superb.
A class act from start to finish.
Thank you.
M. H.
Ive had the pleasure of dining at Montrachet several times and they have never disappointed me.
From start to finish our experience was wonderful.
The food , the service and the atmosphere was 10/10.
Do yourself a favour and experience this outstanding restaurant
D. C.
Beautiful ambience, complemented by its delectable cuisines and customer service staff. Highly recommended for those seeking quality French cuisines.
I.
In a new location but still has most of its charm. The food was fantastic and the service was attentive without being overbearing. I would prefer more wines by the glass as my partner and I prefer different wines and its therefore not practical to buy it by the bottle. It would not stop me heading back.
The location is in a new modern precinct, where I prefer the charm of the old location but it may open up the joy of Montrachet to others.
B. M.
Thank God you are back. And we were welcomed back from the moment we stepped inside. of course I had to start with the Crab Souffle. You just go past it. My wife had the escargot and wiped the bowl clean with the bread. Beautiful. I then had the eye fillet. Perfectly cooked and tender as a babies bottom (not that I have ever tasted a babies bottom and have no desire to). My wife had the Coral trout. It fell apart, superbly cooked. Unfortunately, no room for dessert :(. But the service was as expected, fantastic. Not lerching over us, but in the background, topping our glasses and answering every whim. Hardly knew he was there. All in all a great night out and welcome back Montrachet!!
J. C.
What a fabulous night our first time at Montrachet was. We loved the French bistro atmosphere, the service was impeccable, the food excellent and the choice of French wines on the wine list exceptional as was the knowledge of the sommelier. The whole experience was unforgettable and we will be back.

We dined on the Tasting Menu with added Oysters (and substituted out the Lamb)
It started great somehow managed to get even better.
Spoiler Alert: In short, this was close to a perfect meal
This fabulous food was enhanced by faultless and attentive service as well as an excellent looking venue with a magic
GO JUST GO.. IT'S A MUST VISIT.

The best restaurant we have been to since moving from Melbourne to Brisbane (2 years ago).
Great ambiance, impeccable service, great wine list and the food….the food was just superb.
Suggest this will become our ‘go-to-restaurant’.
Thanks to all the staff at Montrachet for an unforgettable dining experience.
H. L.
The food was outstanding - loved the soufflé, the Black Angus eye fillet and the gateau opera with sauce anglaise, perfect 😋. Great selection of wines - thoroughly enjoyed the Chablis and Pinot Noir with our meal. The service was very attentive and helpful but unintrusive - excellent work by Matthieu and the rest of the front of house team 👌. Loving the COVIDSAFE ambiance. Thank you for a delightful experience again.
P. C.
We have been eating at Montrachet for many years and despite its change of location remains a culinary delight. I always have the same thing and get teased about it by my family. My view is that once you're on a winner stick with it. Steak, frites, mushrooms + creme brulee ... unbeatable.
S. C.
Four friends lunched at Montrachet to celebrate two birthdays. A wonderful experience, great food, terrific service and very pleasant surroundings. Our first celebration at this restaurant but will definitely not be our last. Totally recommended!
M. M.
Absolutely wonderful to be back at Montrachet, for a special celebration.
Wonderful service, excellent wines and a very attentive sommelier.
And then there is the food - just totally delicious and eye and mouth watering. We had so much we wanted to enjoy that we ran out of tummy space ! Will need to return.
Thank you to everyone, especially Tanya.
m. b.
have always been meaning to try Montrachet. My wife and I went there - fantastic - food, service, ambience - all excellent. We will be back. If you like French food, this is the go to restaurant. Mel

We were lucky enough to visit Montrachet on Bastille Day. As we walked towards the restaurant, a marquee was set up with live music, where arrival drinks and nibbles were being served under the marquee prior to taking your seat in the restaurant.
We had a three course set menu which also included a glass of champagne on arrival into the restaurant. Everything on the menu was absolutely beautiful and that feels like an understatement. The dishes were put together very elegantly and portion sizes were generous. I have been, and will be raving about this restaurant for some time. I cannot wait to go back!! It is perfect for a romantic dinner or anniversaries.
F. A.
Excellent service from the start. The food was exquisite and the wines brilliant. A great restaurant for my wife and I to spend our anniversary. The COViD19 etiquette was also very good. We had a great experience.
N. B.
Montrachet is a beautiful restaurant, with excellent food and excellent service. I highly recommend it. We had lamb with roast vegetables and the Paris mash and it was amazing. Well done! 👏👏👏
B. W.
Amazing food and the service was prompt but not over bearing. Went for lunch and drinks for our Xmas party and for 11 of us we spent $165 per person all up. That was for 3 courses and drinks.... the wine selection is awesome.
N. M.
The food & the service are second to none. I’ve tried other French restaurants in the Brisbane area and while some of them are excellent, this is by far the best. Chef Shannon is amazing. He is literally a food god! The combinations of food that he puts together is amazing. He and his lovely wife Clare make dining at Montrachet a wonderful experience weather it’s for a Friday night steak, a special occasion with friends or the delicious Saturday supper club. We’ve been with people with dietary requirements and they’ve always been extremely happy (tell them when they call to confirm your booking 24 hrs before). I highly recommend this restaurant
M. P.
Simply the best that French dining can offer you
From the time you arrive to the end.
Faultless service. An amazing clean professional attitude towards a job that most don’t take the time to acknowledge and of course respect.
The food took me back in time when dietary was not an agenda... the wine list was very impressive and well balanced
The importance of feeling special is how my partner and I would described Montrachet on king street Brisbane.
Thank you Team Montrachet for sharing France 🇫🇷 with us.
Auguste Escoffier be proud of you.
S. P.
Nice atmosphere, attentive service, excellent food! Not to mention free parking 🙂
L. H.
We had a great evening with delicious food and fine wines and a staff who could not have been equaled for their diligent service. We had the same experience last time and already are looking forward to next time.
S. R.
The tables are on top of each other. The restroom is outside around the building, which is terrible on a very rainy night. The service was good. The crab souffle was lovely, but very rich. The steak was fantastic. However, the creme brulee, which happens to be my favorite dessert that I had been anticipating all night, was the absolute worst dessert I have ever had. The layer of sugar was way too think and to top it all off it was completely burnt. The whole thing just tasted charred. It was awful. It's not the worst restaurant, but for the price and the level of restaurant it's pretending to be on, they have completely failed.
A. E.
Had a great birthday dinner at Montrachet last week. It’s been 12 months or more since we dinned there, and while on that previous occasion we thought the experience was merely ‘nice’, last week’s dinner was FANTASTIC. The service is very, polished and the food was amazing. The Steak Tartare was delicious - perfectly seasoned and so fresh. My partner raved about the Raioli de champignons. The stand out dish for the night was the lamb ( Filet d’Agneau) - the lamb was so well cooked and the flavour sensational.
Montrachet is very much going for the buisy bistro vibe - and the early sitting on a Friday night was packed - tables are close ( good opportunity to check your neighbours food out and see how well you’ve ordered), and plenty of staff to assist. Food and wine service is very prompt. My only small gripe is that it is a bit noise for my liking - makes it a bit harder to enjoy the conversation.
Great place - definitely recommend
A.
Both the meal and service was superb. A special thank you to Simon. He made us feel so special. Thank you to the entire team for a fantastic evening. We especially liked the respect shown to social distancing. Stay safe
J. N.
Just fantastic. We went there for the re-opening night with a special 5 courses Bastille Day menu sitting at the bar. Amazing food and spotless service. It felt like travelling to Paris for 1 night. More than recommended (and I am French). We will be back.
A. v. d. N.
Absolutely sensational. We had dinner here after our wedding, and it was the most wonderful evening. The food, the atmosphere, the service, and the wine. Thank you so much Montrachet!
B. D.
Amazing french restaurant. We will definitely be back.
D. H.
Enjoyed everything about our experience, the atmosphere, the service and the delicious food. We had been disappointed the last time we visited whilst located in Paddington. But they are back on point, happy we gave it another go. Thanks for a memorable evening. Location in King Street is great.
g.
Lovely sums it up, just lovely, decor, food, and staff.
Fine Dining.
Rich French food. A great wine list that features many Rhone Valley delights.
And did I mention the wonderful staff that help make the evening memorable.
K. C.
What a divine meal! The truffle and honey butter is incredible. I also had the duck parfait, eye fillet and finished it off with creme brule. Next level deliciousness!
R. H.
The matching wine to the long degustation were very good, as was the service - though we did three different people. But for me the biggest disappointment was the French food. The food itself was good, but did not feel French. And only a couple of hot dishes in seven courses felt a little lazy.
D. P.
As you might see this is my first review.
Nothing has been worth reviewing until now.
10 out of 10. Perfect food, service and ambiance. Just bring a jacket, the aircon is set to polar.
S. O.
We had the most amazing night here last Saturday. The degustation was fantastic, the wines were a perfect match and the waitress was informative, attentive and unobtrusive. Perfect! One of the best meals we have had in BRISBANE....
J. M.
Best French restaurant in Brisbane. Alexis the maitre d'hôtel is just fantastic. Highest standard in food and service. Extensive wine list. Expect $150/ guest including wine
M. D.
Absolute favourite French restaurant in Brisbane. A wonderful location for a special occasion or if you just want fine French food done exceptionally well. Service was wonderful and the restaurant is stunning. Looking forward to returning soon.
J. B.
Great food, Great service. We got the 5 course degustation with the wine pairing, and everything was so well matched. Well done to the chefs, and would recommend!!
L. M.
Booked in for my French husbands birthday and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bread🤤
S. L.
So first of all you better have the bling for this place. We were stung with a very pricey water and a secretly priced bread. I wish they had told us straight up that water was gonna be so expensive, but there ya go. Other then that, it was a wonderful experiance. I ordered the venison and crème burelè. It was delicious in every single way. The table service was so sublime I even gave a tip. The atmosphere was delightful and the menu was full. 5 stars (despite the pricey water)
T. H. (. C.
Superb food quality and friendly staff.
C. J.
Montrachet has everything you would want in a great restaurant. Delicious and beautifully presented food, an amazing wine list, a fabulous room and the best service I have had in a very long time. Go there...you will not be disappointed!
B. N.
Tonight I had a beautiful meal at Mpntrachet at Paddington. Shannon's first night open after a month off and a brand new menu. Absolutely stunning meal and excellent service. Do yourself a favour if you want to have dinner in a 2 chef hat rated restaurant where the food is superb and the service. Is excellent and throw in a bottle or two of excellent French wine. What more is there?
J. S.
We've been going there on average every 8 months for a treat, ever since they were established in Paddington. We have noticed improvements in the cuisine and the service every single time. Faultless and exquisite, what's their secret?
D. W.
Our first time at Bowen Hills and a really good lunch time experience.
Great food and impeccable service at a very busy time. The decor and ambience reminded us of Paddington. On our list for visiting friends from Interstate and overseas!
c. v.
Another brilliant meal at this special restaurant. Thankyou Clare & Shannon for your imaginative, professional & delicious menu served in a relaxed & exquisite venue. We were whisked away to another land! (the couple speaking in French at the next table only added to the atmosphere). The staff were yet again impeccable.....thank you!
T. T.
One of the Best Private Dining Experiences. Entertained by a host/waiter with a great sense of humour, coupled with superb service and 7 course dining experience we'll be back for.
Higly Recommended
R. G.
The food, atmosphere & service are fantastic. The presentation is fantastic and the dishes compliment each other. Shannon and Clare have a restaurant second to none in Brisbane. We highly recommend this restaurant.
K. A.
Having eaten in endless French Restaurants in Australia and abroad, Montrachet in my opinion, and those of my international clients and friends, is of Michelin Star quality. Montrachet does not profess to be provincial French, but introduces, as in many restaurants in France, a modern take on French food. There is a science involved here, and I say that with some authority since science, at a top level, features in my background. The husband and wife team, Shannon and Claire are owners, and Shannon who is the Chef, are passionate about food, and this is shared by their staff. Shannon, is trained in France and lived there for many years. Won an array of international awards and he is a Queenslander! He knows where the French cuisine is heading and we are fortunate he has brought those skills, and passion to Brisbane. How lucky are we. We have been dining at Montrachet for many years. We love the food, wine, service and atmosphere this beautiful restaurant offers. I cannot fault it. I encourage true ‘foodies’ to visit Montrachet’s website and see the array of services on offer. Trust me, it will not disappoint.
S. P.
The experience at Montrechet is simply wonderful. A display of absolute class from all. In particular, a gentleman named, Simon, went out of his way to curate an absolute journey of wine and food. Thank you, we will be back.
D. V.
I love Montrachet! It has to be one of my wife's and my favourite restaurants in Brisbane. The service is excellent! The atmosphere is excellent! The food, exquisite!
Must have items:
1) Truffle butter - I would buy this from them if I could
2) Any of the steak options (Rib fillet is a fav)
3) Any of their cocktails. If you are unsure, let them pick one for you!
4) The Venison
5) Creme Brulee
6) Chocolat de passion (this was on Masterchef!)
There is a lot more but I just haven't got around to trying it all yet. But I will!
D. P.
I've been a few times for special occasions. Though it's a bit pricey, it's worth every cent. The food is high quality, interesting, and absolutely delicious, and the wine list is immense! The staff are super attentive and professional. Great atmosphere...just like dining in a neighbourhood bistro in Paris!
R. M.
I went for the dinner service degustation on my first night in Brisbane. The ambience was reminiscent of a french bistrot, and took me back to Paris. The waiters were exceptional and great attention to detail (my sparkling was regularly topped up very efficiently). I had the lobster/whipped polenta/levain, St Agur gnocchi (gorgeously pillowy and my favourite dish), toothfish (with a range of asian ingredients which I couldn't work out how it came together as european), guinea fowl/parmentier, and a chocolate dessert. Only issue with service was my guinea fowl had bone in it, and when I told a waitress to notify the kitchen, she made a small joke about how I was 'lucky it didn't happen at the start', and did not even attempt an apology. Coffee was great and served with two crisp ginger biscuits. The bathrooms are located outside, so don your jackets if you are heading out in winter.
N. S. (.
Such mixed reactions.... From the outset I was excited to be finally going somewhere I had wanted to go for a while. But the wait staff and atmosphere really turned me off.
Crisp white tablecloths... Lovely windows.... but the atomsphere felt very late 80s or 90s and was extremely noisy. Like the acoustics were bad?
I should have asked the staff for more vegetarian options? I'm not a full vego. I do eat meat very ocassionally but none of the main options actually appealed to me and honestly it's 2019 and the world in general seems to be vegan crazy. So a top notch restaurant without ANY vegetarian options as a main seems very outdated in my opinion.
Also being FORCED to spend a minimum of $38 per person felt a bit of an overkill. To write on the menu that minimum spend per person is $38 seems very tacky especially in a restaurant that is supposed to be so classy. You expect to pay $30+ in mains anyway when you go to a supposedly high class restaurant.
Staff are effective but waiters were standoffish and maybe that's because we didn't fit into their idea of what their customers should look like? I don't know? But I felt very put out and treated badly. From the moment we were ushered to our table I felt like I was being judged by the waiter. It was the reason why I was terrified to ask if they offered any vegetarian options other than sides.
Our waiter seemed quite annoyed that we didn't want wine or drinks other than water with our food.
The website boasted that it was intimate dining experience but it was the opposite. Tables seemed very close together to pack more people in presumably?
The food itself was very good. I ended up choosing an entrée as my main with a side. The ravioli in lettuce soup was really nice. The boyfriend enjoyed the duck and said it was excellent.
We shared dessert. Shannon's award winning dessert. The chocolate hazelnut
praline mousse and strawberry sorbet which was delish.
Overall I was extremely disappointed. The food was great. Maybe I was too excited beforehand? I had heard such good things. But the loudness and the staff were a complete turn off.
Really wanted to try their degustation. Unsure if I'll be back.

We discovered this restaurant after seeing one of the desserts on Masterchef. It’s a beautiful restaurant, the service was spectacular and on a Tuesday night, every table was full! Make sure you book; you also need to secure booking with a credit card. We had the crab soufflé to share, the eye fillet and duck and the chocolat de passion for dessert. Everything was amazing. It’s pricey but we’ll definitely be back. Think we have a new favourite restaurant.
M. B.
Live this place my favourite restaurant- I can’t get enough. The food the wine the service is just so brilliant and they remember you every time. Amazing I would give more stars if there were more to give.
J. F.
Understated and incredibly delicious food. Truffle butter is a must
N. B.
Perfection. In every sense. Best winter menu ever. Truffles were amazing; pasta amazing, ragu amazing! Beef cheek amazing. Every mouthful was amazing. A great treat for some friends to whom I have bragged of Montrachet for some time. We weren’t let down. Thankyou. Still #1 in Brisbane
T. M.
A spectacular dining experience from start to finish. Service was beyond excellent and the food was out of this world. Literally would sacrifice my first child for the crab soufflé and easily give up my second for the wagyu - absolutely to die for. I like my third child a lot but would also give him up just to add the bernaise sauce to the wagyu. The only downside was taking my three greedy children to the restaurant Instead of leaving them there to work for the meal. Will be back again. It’s now our favourite restaurant :)

Wonderful evening spent with good friends, great service, beautiful atmosphere and amazing food. Thank you Montrachet for continuing to provide Brisbane with a world class experience.
H.
Perfect. The food is faultless, we sampled a selection of entree, mains, dessert and sides and all were impeccable. Cocktails were on point. The highlight was the service. Our waitress was so nice and knowledgeable. Had a perfect night.
R. H.
Really great food, with service to match. Thank you!
C. O.
Our ‘go to’ French restaurant. The whole experience is joy. The servers are very attentive and engaging and the somm is top class. Well appointed fitout in the classique French bistro style.
Then there is the food- winner winner filet de boeuf. the best steak in town - I rate it better than Cha Cha Char/Walters/Black Hyde.
Other staples we love is the Soup & Soufflé for entree.
Would be at home in Paris but grateful it isn’t!
S. M.
Booked a seating for a friend's birthday. The somm was wonderful at helping us pick out wines and the food was incredible. The first french onion soup, snail pies and tiramisu was stand out favorites.
S. J.
Another enjoyable dinner at Montrachet. The service and food are exceptional. Love the ambience and decor definately a family favorite for our get togethers. Thanks for a fabulous food experience!
A. O.
We ordered an entree of capaccio and zucchini flowes and main of lamb rack and fillet of beef and shared each other's food. it was the best French i have had even since visiting Melbourne a few months ago! I was slightly worried since the restaurant has changed hands but I think it's even better than it was before.
s. j. t.
What an experience! The food is outstanding from start to finish, the service was exceptional and the staff are just lovely. I would highly recommend this place.

An amazing experience. I am a French chef and must say that I have been impressed with the quality of food and service. Will return and recommend.
Thx
T. S.
Spectacular in every way. The welcome was warm; we were shown our table; service was excellent and the food was divine. We will be back.
R. W.
Attended Montrachet before a show at The Tivoli. Even though we were pushed for the time the staff went above and beyond to ensure our dishes arrived very quickly. While everything was delicious I must make a special mention of the Crab Souffle. Absolutely divine!
R. K.
Montrachet is a truly traditional French cuisine restaurant. The wait staff, mostly French, were all gracious and very professional. The food presentation, quality and flavour were sensational.
J. H.
Best French restaurant in Brisbane. Wide variety of nice Frech wine. Friendly staff and excellent customer service.
M. P.
Fantastic experience.... the food is magnificent and the staff are great - they go out of their way to make you feel special. Definitely recommend for special occasions
R. P.
Montrachet in the new location is not as good as I remember if when it was in Paddington.
Service was excellent, meals arrived promptly but the food was uninspiring.
The crab souffle still my favourite dish, unfortunately the sugar on top of my brulee was burnt and bitter.
R. K.
One of the best French restaurants in Brisbane. Engaging and efficient staff, delicious food and upmarket wines by the glass. Great ambience too.
C. R.
We have our work Christmas lunch here and it's beautiful. We never go past the degustation menu and we NEVER skip the crème brule. Such a wonderful dining experience, the staff, the beverage selection, the food. It's all beautiful.
D. W.
Amazing food and service!
Lovely atmosphere
A. P.
Amazing French cuisine and fantastic staff. Our meals (of which I had the French onion soup & the 200g steak) were absolutely devine and cooked to perfection. My only complaint and the lack of a 5th star came from the fact that it was quite hot inside the restaurant. So much so that my colleagues and I were sweating which made the meal a bit uncomfortable. Some ceiling fans would go a long way to providing at least some airflow if the air conditioning can't cope on summer days. Otherwise great! Definitely coming back (...in winter, haha).
m.
Our parents have been all around the world and dined in many fabulous restaurants. Montrachet impressed them immensely, proving you don't need a Michelin star to have a great meal.
P. E.
We always love to spend our anniversary with the great staff at Montrachet- they help us celebrate every year. Great Food - great wine and friendly service - it's the best dining experience - Thank You again
W. T.
I have 18 Michelin stars under my belt. While not quite to that standard the food and service are extremely good. It is true French cooking unlike many other restaurants that make that claim in BNE. Highly recommended.
L. S.
Thought the Sat night supper club looked good and it was better than I thought possible. Service achieved that perfect mix of polite/efficient/humorous/informative that is so rare these days and the menu items were simply superb.
L. B.
We met up with friends for this dinner. We had the longer degustation with matching wine. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, wine, the wonderful service and the ambience of the restaurant. Look forward to going again sometime
C. P.
The service was excellent. The food was presented well and was delicious. This only gets three stars from me as i had booked a table for two as it w as my girlfriends birthday. This is not the place for an intimate dining experience. Especially if you dont want to have to sit and listen to the old man next to you giving the cabage a bad rating or the two exremely loud French bafoons on the other side trying to top each other with their Manu impersonations. We shared their conversations and probably gravy splashing, we were that close.
Its a family place.....not somewhere to be romantic. Bring back Madame Rouge please with the private booths.
C. L.
Food was okay, the best dish was probably the crab souffle. tables are way too close to each other. It feels like i could be on a date with the guy at my neighbouring table. Asked for tips - very un-french like. crowded. overall - the money you pay is not worth the service/food. but if you've got lots of cash to spare then i dont see why not - as long as you don't mind the seating arrangement.
S. C.
In general it was a nice meal, however, as I am a Chef myself, I also know a few things about cooking and mainly french gastronomy...
Our foie gras as an entrée was not cooked to my liking and how I was taught to cook it; it probably needed to be cooked in a hotter frying pan (there was no colouring on the outside) and also, I recommend it to be cooked for a little bit longer as it was not melting in my mouth as it should.
I ordered the lamb rack with onion tart and foie gras mousse as a main and I was told by the waitress that the Chef had taken off from the menu the onion tart that was coming with it and was replaced with carrots...
I was very desappointed that they charged me the full price of that dish which arrived with 2 or 3 mini carrots instead of a tart! And no foie gras either! I was expecting something for the same value of the tart and foie gras... I also expected the foie gras mousse on the side...
However, I do have to say: the restaurant is beautiful and waitresses quick, discreet but joyful!
W. S.
What an outstanding lunch, one of, if not the best I've had this year. Shannon and the team are legends. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we came for lunch stayed for dinner. Thanks guys for everything, will definitely be back up from Sydney in the New Year.
K. E.
Excellent Service, Outstanding Food and atmosphere - a must visit for french cuisine lovers
N. T.
I am a vegetarian. I have always had the courtesy to call them beforehand to let them know about my dietary preferences and conversely Shannon and his chefs have not failed to surprise and delight me. Their fabulous food is only outdone by their attitude and impeccable service.
R. J.
Beautiful food and impeccable service, we have enjoyed their food for years celebrating many of our special occasions here. Shannon and his team should be commended on adapting their business model, during the lockdown
M. M.
This restaurant had all my favourites in entree, main AND DESSERTS... Very attentive staff and relaxed atmosphere. I will return.
L. L.
When it comes to eating out, Montrachet is my DEFAULT go to. From the moment we enter the front door, it doesn't matter where we sit, what we eat, or what night of the week, every sense is satisfied. Second to none, decadent and divine is our Fave Montrachet.
J. M.
I've been here 4 times a year for about 7 years now. Always have to book in advance. I think it had a change in ownership but I still love this place. I am addicted to their snail in garlic butter sauce with the puff pastry lid. Sadly, it isn't cheap but definitely worth it.
F. H.
We celebrated our 40th wedding annivsary at Montrchet. Couldn't fault anything. Great food, service and ambiance. The gnocchi was perfect, light pillows of deliciouness, the duck cooked to perfection, and the boullabaisse wonderful. Thank you for a wonderful night
S. R.
Wow! The only thing better than a fantastic French restaurant is having it move into your area and open a side-bakery café! OMG – Amazing. I’ve always loved this place for a fancy and romantic dinner with my love but now it’s even better, GOOD COFFEE, INCREDIBLE PASTRIES, early open hours for a bite before work, nice location too. What more could a girl ask for!?! xx
P. C.
Food and Wine was amazing. The atmosphere was fantastic. We had a wonderful night and Dave was exceptional! We will be back! Phil & Jemma
N. S.
Truly beautiful and delicious. I have been to this restaurant in all it's incarnations and locations and this one is just as exceptional as all the others. It is like stepping into another world, but still in the heart of Brisbane.
J. J.
The chef here is next level. Every time we come here, the food is exceptional. Thank you
C. ,.
The food here is amazing, very well thought out menu, and executed to perfection. However, the downsides are the seating. Tables are all too close together and we were told to wait outside so that our table could be prepared. Not something I expected when paying $280 for a meal for 2.
A. O.
Food and Service were excellent.
But considering the price and portion, umm..
I felt a bit less portion.( I had a bouillabaisse.)
my friend had a duck roti, that portion was fine.
Anyway, I would say that the service really nice.
the best service I’ve ever had in Australia:)
S. S.
We frequently visit Montrachet & it never fails to impress! Shannon & Clare & the whole team do such an Awesome job, you will not be disappointed here. Awesome job well done to the the whole team thank you. We will be back!
K. R.
Delicious. Crab souffle was perfection. Bouillabaise perfection. Lamb was delicious according to dining partner. Highly recommend
S. P.
Best French food and service in Australia. A must do.
B. K.
Friendly, discreet service; food beautifully cooked and presented, menu all too tempting. A wonderful venue for a birthday dinner.
J. K.
Superb food, service and ambience. A real fine dining experience with a taste of Burgundy evidenced in the food and the excellent wine list. We will be back!
R. L.
Extremely attentive service but not intrusive. Very knowledgeable sommelier and excellent wine list. The crab souffle was a delight.
J. B.
Very good french food, very conscientious, everything was well prepared, very expensive, but the tasting menu was wonderful... Cultural note, my roll came with a sharp knife, to cut it... I was surprised as in my culture cutting bread at the table is bad manners, it is to be torn, or broken.
C. C.
It was my first visit to the relocated Montrachet and we had a fantastic lunch with some clients. I can't fault the service, food, wine and ambience. I will be back, hopefully soon!!
K. S.
We had been looking so forward to visiting the resturant after reading the amazing reviews It certainly lived up to our expectations From the service to the Wine list the cuisine was beyond anything we could have hoped for .Thankyou so much
L.
Food and service exceptional but great food married with excellent service does cost. Place to celebrate special personal goals/achievements, enjoy Montrachet the way owners designed a special team!
H. C.
Lovely restaurant in every way - delicious food and drinks prepared with care, attentive and friendly service and an enjoyable atmosphere.
L. C.
ooh la la! What a fantastique evening of fine french food and wine with mon amour! The waiter was exceptionnel and the dishes...sacrebleu! In particular the beef tartare and the pigeon were magnifique!
m. C.
My stepson and I thoroughly enjoyed the ambience, the prompt service, the quality of the food. Loved the escsrgots- better thsn when I last had it in Paris in 2014. Thank you for a lovely experience.
A. S.
Great food, excellent service and ambient atmosphere. Could not fault anything.
D. T.
I hate this place. You broke my girlfriend. I took her here for lunch on a Tuesday. She is now spoilt and demands nothing less than perfection a la Montrachet for each dining experience that we have.
She had the foie gras quail which was amazing. I had the venison - tender and expertly prepared.
A wonderfully authentic French experience which is going to cost me dearly for the REST. OF. MY. LIFE! Thanks...
J. T.
Fabulous. As good as you get for high quality dining in Brisbane. Fantastic service too.
D. W.
Lovely place, nice and quiet. More on the upscale fancy side. Wait staff was very nice. Definitely pricier but food seemed worth it.
j. h.
Impressive restaurant, great food, great staff. We had the 7 course degustation menu, couldn't recommend it more highly! Can't wait to get back there again.
M. T.
Unbe-f..ng-lievable service by Lee and Alex and the hostess. Food was inspiring. So pleased with the whole experience. Keep up the passion for what you do, guys, it makes all the difference.
B. M.
Fantastic menu & wine selection, food served at its best, wirh great friendly service.
Recommend the duck & quail meals.
Definitely the best French restaurant in town
T. C.
Still an excellent French restaurant with friendly , helpful service in a perfect French bistro style interior ! Well worth trying if you haven't , and worth returning to otherwise !
L. J.
Best French restaurant in Queensland.
J. J.
Staff with amazing attention to detail and care for the patrons.
Food quality is top notch!
F. H.
I have had a love affair with Il Centros sand crab lasagne for years but after tasting Montrachet's crab souffle I am now torn between two loves. A fabulous restaurant experience all round.
H. P.
Best French in Brisbane. Possibly the world. Try the crab soufflé - I think they serve it in heaven but still not as good as Montrachet. The service is just right.
V. t.
Superb in every aspect..food, service, ambience. If not THE best in BRISBANE , then certainly high on the list.. a gastronomic treat that I can’t wait to repeat. And we are fussy diners!
W. C.
Great service. Great food. Our experience can be summed up in 3 words - we'll be back!
M. G.
Nice food as usual in this French restaurant.
J. D.
Beautiful anniversary dinner (degustation menu) that was truly memorable. Nice little touches from the staff made it extra special.
G. D.
A superb meal was had by our table for six
Food and service was exceptional. Tanya as always, was friendly and professional
S. C.
Been to this place a handful of times . This time we tried the degustation menu as usual . Some of the signature dishes has been removed . They are now not even in the a la carte menu .The new menu is delicious but can be better . Like the old menu with the signature dishes better !
T. M.
Had a fantastic meal here. Venue is lively and waitresses friendly and attentive. Head here for a fine dining experience you won’t forget!
M. J.
The Supper Club on Friday was amazing. The technique and flavours were first class. Thoroughly recommend this French experience in Brisbane

Great ambience too.
R.
Beautiful food and amazing service
J. S.
Excellent French cuisine fine service and some lovely wine pairings.
J. Y.
If you're after an intimate date, this place (albeit food is worth it) is small and seating is close to the next. So can be quite noisy.
D. H.
The staff were nice and chatty and the scampy was pretty effin amazing, the cheese smelt likey sons socks lol and the bread stuff me mushrooms that brioche was something else - my mum
J. M.
This is the our second visit to Montrachet the service and the food is amazing looking forward to our next Brisbane visit.
E. D.

As a regular restaurant diner who appreciates excellence to mediocrity this is still one of my top 2 restaurants in Brisbane
J. D.
Fantastic service and quality of food. It may seem pricey upon glance but it's genuinely worth it.
K. C.
Quite good service. Special memories.
b.
I think the food was beutiful, the service was amazing and the resturant looks wonderful.'
I would actually rate it a 9 1/2 but the rating only goes to 5.
J. B.
As previously, we had a most enjoyable evening as a result of very nice food, good service and superb wine.
T. W.
Wonderful service, food and wine. A special place for our special occasion. Thank you!
S. M.
Went to dinner last night - Best restaurant i've ever been to!
A. B.
We were at the supper club. The food was superb. The service, fantastic. We loved it.
J. T.
The management stated one price per head for 5 diners, but for 6 diners, the same price per head plus an 8% surcharge. I fail to understand the rationale for this. To me, this seems rather elitist and a touch arrogant.
H. M.
Reliable foodwise ... mostly. Service a bit disappointing this time. No mention of specials available. Location is great.
A. V. K.
Great food & service. Being a French restaurant, they only served French wines, which were a bit pricey.
K. P.
Beautiful food, amazing service, lovely atmosphere. We will be back!
T.
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, excellent service. Would definitely return.
D. D.
