This restaurant was terrific. I hadn’t been before but easy to find and well located right on Eagle St Pier this quality restaurant had it all It came highly recommended by locals and they were not wrong The food was interesting and of great quality. I was looking for something light so enjoyed to zucchini and some sour dough bread with caramel cultured butter. It tasted lovely. A glass of wine and i was set. The restaurant overlooks the river and clearly one can see Stone bridge well lit of an evening Eating alone also isn’t an issue with many business travellers visiting this beautiful city and well catered for. The ambiance is warm , wonderful and welcoming. Staff are incredible and very very friendly. I seriously enjoyed a chilled night out and will certainly come back again without hesitation. Meals are also very reasonably priced making this a good night out. The kitchen is open plan so you can see the preparation of your food therefore making it a transparent process. So do yourself a favour and when next in beautiful Brisbane at this restaurant to your list of places to dine at Please LIKE my post if you found this valuable

I love food and atmosphere. Entrees came so quick, but main meal came out so late. So take enough time and enjoy entree with drinks. Take something to make your kids busy during stay. Excellent quality food and service, but you can’t be full full with only just a main meal. Cauliflower side dish is great to share. Whole cauliflower bunch was baked, yum yum!

Have been to Pony a few times over the past 5 years. Food is always exceptional. On most recent visit it seemed like the vibe was different. Poor music and the food is now share and much larger serves (which is great). 5* food but feel the vibe has gone down slightly.

Entree Clams and pipis were absolutely amazing, put in a creamy delicious sauce and some vegetables i had no idea of but tasted marvelous. Not being much of a bone marrow lover, it tasted incredible with crunchy bread crisps, we also ordered raw beef, at first it didnt sound appealing but tasted immaculate. For main, I ordered pork belly served with cooked cauliflower, the meat was tender and juicy and amazing overall, the cauliflower had so much flavour and complimented the pork. The desert was incredibly refreshing, tasting of mint, finger lime, green apple and smoked yoghurt. Had many amazing cocktails to choose from. The service was also very fast

The wagyu was thin and smoked, the salad under the wagyu was fresh, the lame was tender and succulent, the duck look perfectly cool on the outside but actually was undercooked inside, fish was bland, the torte was beautifully and had a crisp caramel shell, inside was fluffy.

This is an excellent restraunt with a very modern, yet cosy vibe. Even though we didn't have a reservation we got our seats instantly. The service was very good and our waiter was very nice and friendly. The food was amazing. We got the angus rump and the gnocchi. The rump was cooked well and the gnocchi was nice and soft and was worth the money. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you are after a romantic dinner or even a nice night out.

Went to this restaurant last night for the first time! The food was absolutely lovely! I myself had the olives for the entree and the angus for my main! All was cooked to perfection! The oysters was my friends entree and they were devine! My friends and I went there for a birthday dinner and the staff was very attentive and the service was great! Will return!

I had a work dinner here, and we opted to go a la carte. Food was terrific. We had sourdough bread, roasted carrot, pastrami to start, then oysters and prawns before mains of snapper and tomahawk steak (fabulous) with sides of spatzele, roasted cauliflower finishing with desserts of blueberry donut, chocolate tart with various coffees. Cocktails and wine were excellent. Service was friendly and unpretentious. I would be happy to come here again.

This was the most SPECTACULAR dining experience I have EVER had the pleasure of being a part of! First and most importantly, the staff here are absolutely phenomenal!! I cannot more highly regard the service my partner and I received! Also, to go as far as to give me a birthday message in my dessert from a comment made in passing that my birthday was the next day was so touching and magnificent and also for one of our waitresses to come back with a candle was just so FANTASTIC and truly made me feel special. The food was absolutely divine! My partner had the snapper and I the pork jowl, and I have never wanted to savour every bite of a meal more than these! Our desserts were also wonderfully tasty! The views were amazing, the wine magnificent and again, the service amazing!! My parter and I will DEFINITELY be returning here in the future and recommending it to anyone looking for the most sensational dining experience ever! What a treat! Great food, attentive but unobtrusive service and a really interesting selection of wine. We went the share plate option with the beetroot cured king fish, lamb confit and salad for our lunch. We paired it with an Argentinean red for me and white for my partner. These dishes weren't just about wonderful flavours they were also about amazing textures, including pepita praline and puffed buckwheat. We finished off with a lovely cheese platter that included honey lavosh which was incredible and a toasted marshmallow with sherbet, Davidson plum and mint which was simply stunning. You should go here.

A beautiful restaurant with friendly staff - the food isn't quite worth the higher than average cost that they charge (with one or two dishes an exception). Although, the internal ambience and the view make up for that a little. The wait staff do their best to ensure your visit is special, which is a nice touch. Would recommend the Gnocchi if you visit Pony.

I had long wanted to visit Pony. It was dark and mysterious and promised amazing food behind its darkened doors. The anticipation I had built up was rewarded with amazing food, fish wings, (they were new to me) well worth the adventure! Every dish was beautifully presented and amazing to taste... the service was faultless. If you are looking for an intimate dining space then this is your venue. I did however think a few more lights would not detract from the ambiance. Ladies whatever you do take your phone with you when you go to the bathroom... if you need to check your makeup you will need your phone light to do so... it is very much feel your way around in there. The bathroom overlooks eagle st so for privacy they have kept the lights dim. Unfortunately, I could only just work out where the taps were (they were dull brass or copper on dark vanities) It made the evening memorable but not for the right reasons.

When you walk in a smell the char grilling steaks, you want to dive over the bar and grab them right off the grill! But it not just great steaks, all their food is amazing! Wonderful food experience. Great scenery from balcony next to river with views of bridge. Good variety and very clever. Good for drinks too - try the whiskey flight. Great food. Excellent service. Fabulous dining outside overlooking the Story Bridge and the river. One of the best dining experiences I've had in Brisbane.

Great location, lovely interiors and friendly service. Excellent selection of meat and fish. Lamb shoulder is available as a special and was truly amazing. Could be shared between three people. An selection of sides available, pea and bacon, and the broccoli were both perfect, we probably should have add the mash. Was really impressed overall. Got a great seat looking over the water. The staff were attentive and everything came out way faster than we were expecting. As with most finer dining joints, the portions look small when they arrive but as you go, you realise you don't need a plate the size of your head. I found it perfectly portioned, as did my always-hungry partner. The flavours in the food were complex but delicate, and perfectly balanced; seriously some of the best food we've had in a while. The cocktails were also delicious and worth trying! Very much recommend this place.

Beautiful food and extremely professional wait staff and chefs! As someone who has food allergies it’s very difficult to eat out as many restaurants won’t adapt their menus. Pony is so fresh with their cooking that they were able to adapt the meal for me. At one point part of the meal came out containing my allergy food and the wait staff was at my table before I even had a chance to taste it. The chef personally came and delivered my meal with an apology. Extremely appreciative of their professionalism and adaptation to their menu for my allergens! Will definitely be back!

Nice view, but your meal price is subsidising the rent for the view. Food is by no means bad, nor is the service. However better food can be had for same money elsewhere. They do have a solid wine and cocktail menu, particularly if you like whiskey. Overall, if you’re in the area and want a modern Australian meal, this will suffice but I wouldn’t go out of my way for it.

A last minute choice but so glad we made the reservation. The food was spectacular though it’s a fine dining experience so expect quality over quantity! The service matched the food and the beverage selection is close behind. When you go, make sure you get a table outside and order the shared lamb shoulder meal... it sold out when we were there so I recommend ordering it ahead if you like the idea of it.

Delightful upmarket dining with river views. We went for a friend’s birthday function and got the banquet. Got to say- just wasn’t impressed. I left still hungry- which, when paying $75/head, is obviously not ideal. The food was ok- steak was so, so chewy- but the parsnip was good. Cocktails were nice? Honestly- there are so many good places to eat in Brisbane, I just don’t recommend this place.

Flawless service and Excellent food! Requested a table on the balcony. Although a cold night, the heaters along the balcony were enough to keep us warm. The waiter politely offered to move an additional heater to our table should we need. (Which we requested later and the waiter was more than happy to do so) Stunning view over the Brisbane river, Story Bridge and Kangaroo point. As the restaurant is up on the first level, there is no one walking past your table or looking in at you while you eat, unlike other restaurants along riverside. The music in the restaurant is at a good level. Just enough to provide pleasant background music. No need to shout. (Nothing makes me more annoyed a restaurant) Price of meals is very reasonable for a classy restaurant. The food portion size is good, the taste and quality of the meals will have you going back again and again! I can almost guarantee it. I would suggest either an entree or a desert in addition to your main to share to ensure you are satisfied. Everything was cooked exactly as we asked. We asked for the Salmon to be cooked medium, slightly cooked on the outside, slightly raw in the middle. When we received the meal, it was perfect! The chefs working there really must have some talent. If you are looking for exceptional service when you dine out, here is the place to go. I said my friends name in passing conversation while ordering. The waiter remember her name the entire night, making her feel like she was the most important person in the restaurant. Their knowledge of the food on the menu is excellent and they are so helpful helping you decide what to eat. The waiters don't interrupt you while you are having a conversation or mid-mouthful. But whenever you are ready to order something or get another drink, they are at your table within seconds. I honestly can't recommend enough! Really exceptional staff. Amazing, melt in mouth food. I hope the staff read this comment and feel really proud. They are deserve the acknowledgment!

Great location on the second level so sitting outside gave a nice view of the river, the bridge, and kangaroo point with out people walking in front of you. Probably the best steak I've ever had in my life. I got the rare rib fillet, and eating it was a spiritual experience. Our server, Benjamin (who was super friendly and really easy to talk to) informed me that the Rost Biff is even better, so we'll have to come back and see for ourselves. Our first time at Pony to celebrate our 10 yr anniversary. We had cocktails, wine, entrees, mains & dessert, all of which were of great quality and full of flavour. We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the mains (snapper, pork, potato puree, cauliflower) which didn't leave us feeling hungry like many other fine dining restsurants. The service was excellent, the staff were fun, friendly and knowelegable. The only reccomendation is for additional signage as it was hard to find from ground level.

On Saturday 9th November 2019 my husband and I had an intimate wedding reception at Pony Restaurant Brisbane. I don’t even know where to begin but first I want to say a huge thankyou to Ashley the manager, her amazing attentive staff, and to Nick for ensuring our night at his restaurant is one that we will never forget. We started with drinks and canapes on the balcony, with views of our beautiful city and lights, shared entrees inside, then with shared mains sides and drop down main meals. Then we got to the desserts, holy moly….. Every bite that went into our mouths was mind blowing, I let Ashley guide us on what we should order for our guests and she knows her stuff. All our guests, and I am talking about a bunch of Greek people who are hard to please, are still talking about how amazing it was. We finished off the night with some pretty insane cheeseboards while our guests continued drinking into the night. You have made our wedding something that we will remember always and we cannot thankyou enough. Nick and Kriti Panas.

Fantastic, we had a range of meals (entree, main, and dessert) across the table and everyone was impressed! I has the spanner crab, grilled marron, and the bitter chocolate dessert. The spanner crab was good but the grilled marron was absolutely fantastic, the flavours and textures were spot on! The cocktails there were also great, the Native (a negroni made with all Australian ingredients) was such a unique experience, the glass was actually rimmed with ants! Would definitely recommend!

The staff were lovely, we walked in no reservation underdressed, and they squeezed us in even opening the kitchen 10min early so we wouldn't miss our movie. Wagyu potatoes were amazing, salmon perfectly cooked. Negative- $80 dry aged stake didn't seem to be dry aged- not a lot of flavour just taste the charcoal. Stupidly windy on the balcony the parsley blew off the stake before it got to the table and the wind nocked a glass over spilling water over my phone.

Great service, good food and wine list. However, as myself and two friends spend $430 we were charged a credit card fee even when paying by eftpos and not using a credit card. This left a bad taste, and such a disappointing end to the evening. One would presume that a well established restaurant wouldn't charge to use card..

I am with my wife at Byron at Byron Bay and having a great meal but emotionally still scarred from our experience at Pony Eagle Street Pier the week prior. We have eaten in many great restaurants but our experience at Pony was beyond words. Service staff were Gold Class and the head chef was relaxed and syncronised with his team of chefs under the load of a full house. But here is the bad part.... My wife, daughter and self are emotionally scarred and find wherever we eat now we think, talk and reminisce about your restaurant. Congratulations you have a successful business and have a monlthy customer.

Wonderful place to eat , the food is so yummy, but you almost need to be a millionaire to have lunch or dinner there. We where very fortunate to win a voucher for Pony at our EOFY function last year so it didn't cost us anything, We went for dinner about two months ago, then for lunch a couple of weeks ago...

I ordered a medium welldone Wagyu steak, it comes 45 minutes later. What comes up is well done steak, cold, and taste bitter because its over cook (burned) the only good thing is good atmosphere and good waiters. I dine at 1 November 2015 around 7.30 pm. Hope this helps.
