Comments of Roti Place
T.
Authentic Malaysian food, large portions and full of flavours. Only downside service, very much lack of, we had to go up to ask for things even though it's table service. Staff did not even announced last order when we wanted to order dessert.
Overall food is great but maybe extra hands will improve service.

What a nice surprise!!
We are in love with Roti Place, was our first time trying some Malaysian food and we loved it.
We've here twice already, the first week we tried the Nasi Lemak, some rotis and Mi goreng I think, while we're eating we saw this huge bowls going to different tables but we're already full.☺️ So we decided to come back and try their soup and OMG I was shocked at how good it was the Combination Laksa!! (now one of my favorite dishes) the Nasi Goreng was good too but the soup was the best.
The staff is gentle and young.
I really recommend this place, give it a try!!
Thanks Roti Place.

Good location in the middle of the city, parking is horrendous but it is close to Myer centre. This place definitely gives off chic Malaysian vibes. They have a good menu and definitely tasty food. It’s not the best of the best Malaysian food there is but for what they are and what it’s worth, they ticked every Malaysian box. Also, your nostrils would be met with familiar Malaysian aromatics as you enter this joint. Highly recommend the crab dishes given the price point!
W. S.
Great service from Hazel, who was really lovely! Food was great as usual – I especially love the sweet roti. Hazel recommended the salty egg chicken and it ended up being my favourite main.
S. S.
Great little restaurant, service was great! Clean and love that we can see the chefs.
We had the Roti canai, Singapore chili crabs and Salted egg yolk chicken! Best to eat everything freshly made as flavours are strong and get a bit much if you take away and eat again. Generous servings.
We booked as we were time restraint but they are mainly for walk-ins, there was a line so they’re quite popular. A booking link would be beneficial for them, currently you need to fill in a form online and wait for an email or communicate via Instagram. Luckily they were very quick with their response!

I ordered nasi lemak with chicken curry. When it first came out, it didn't give me the greatest impression. The curry chicken looked so pale! I was so used to Malaysian curry chicken being dark orange in colour. But on my first bite, it was actually really good (though a bit bland). The meat was also really tender. I highly recommend the sambal. It's really good (mildly sweet and spicy with a hint of dried shrimp). The portion for the side dishes though could be increased? Like more anchovies, acar and chicken.
As for the char koay teow, it was just average. Not well seasoned to the point of it being bland. Overall decent but I wouldn't be craving for this.

We arrived on a busy, Saturday evening for dinner and the place was packed. Although the service staff had their hands full with welcoming customers, taking food orders and clearing tables, they still managed to provide great service and smiles. Kudos to the staff for their excellent service standard!
We ordered chicken rice and nasi goreng and both were pretty good. Definitely will be back soon to try their other Malaysian delicacies.

Not the Easiest Place to Find !!
Located At 42 Charlotte St Brisbane City.
Has a Very Good Menu Selection & Friendly Helpful Staff. Had the Spicy 🌶 Salt & Pepper Squid & the Roti Planta with an Iced Barley Water. Very Good Value & Super Tasty !!
J. B.
Asked if they had payo and was told yes. So we ordered our food and drinks. When we left we told them we are paying with payo. Only to be told they don't accept it anymore. Lucky for us our food wasn't expensive. Also my beef dish was lukewarm but still nice. It needed to be hotter. After posting on payo fb page about it. They said Roti accepts payo.

This place is amazing! The staff are super friendly and greeting you with a smile. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm.
The menu is quite extensive and unique. The food and drinks are absolutely delicious and one of a kind!
Covid safe plan in place here which includes sanitiser, social distancing measures and contact tracing.

Best fried kway tiao in Brisbane. Tastes good even when using uber eats. It arrived hot and the kway is very smooth, non sticky with great wok hei. Quality oil used that do not cause me to have sore throat after eating. Generous ingredients although the cut fishball is a strange ingredient for fried kway tiao.
T. N.
Food is generally good and authentic Malaysian depending on what you order. My favourites are the roti canai, Hainanese chicken rice, mee goreng, nasi goreng, salted egg prawn, butter prawn and char kway teow (probably the best in CBD, has the wok taste, medium spicy, with lap cheong (sausage), generous seafood compare to Papparich). Really good value for money.
Their laksa was pretty good and satisfying. Their chicken satay sometimes can be a bit dry and their curry is a little weak tasting but that's probably just me.
Their drinks menu is good with a lot of variety. I love their ais limau and teh tarik. If you really love your Malaysian style teh tarik, perhaps tell them you want the tea strong when ordering :)
I love that they serve ais kacang and sweet roti here too.
Staff are friendly, though they are always busy so they may appear impatient sometimes but I appreciate their promptness.
Overall, it's a good Malaysian restaurant that I will keep frequent when I miss Malaysian food.
W.
Nasi goreng lacked flavours and was a bit too wet.
Roti was very nice and fresh, would order again.
Hainanese chicken was well cooked\seasoned however it had a bit too much fat in it.
uodate
I originally rated 4 stars now down to 3 stars.
The food was cold and the meat was so little the second time I went.
D. L.
Quick service to get a table, had to go to Counter to order and pay. Food was sent out promptly and politely. The food and drinks were a good portion and tasted great. Well worth a visit for your Malaysian fix.
D.
The food was good. We thought the curry was a little watered down but the meat was very tender.
O. K.
This place is highly recommended all across the reviewing apps, and thus, we had to.
Honestly, it wasn't wow, if we compare to our experience of having Malaysian around Australia. But, it wasn't something that was bad.
What was more.striking was the staff. They were understaffed during the Christmas season buy yet, they were so warm and smiling.
Incredible!!
Roti and Chicken Curry was good and so was the fish stew....
Also, it's quite easy on the pocket.
Y. A.
as a malaysian myself, roti place is one of the very few as close to authentic malaysian food restaurants in QLD!~ haven’t been back here in years but decided to go for dinner and so glad we did!!
ordered har mee prawn noodle, laksa, roti canai and a yuzu tea drink
har mee was quite good!! really really strong in prawn essence hence the name, so if you don’t like the strong flavor of prawn this won’t be for you! laksa was alright~ a bit too on the creamy side, possibly a bit less coconut milk would have been tastier but overall lovely!!
roti canai was amazingggg~ freshly cooked, crispy and chewy, what more can you ask for??
yuzu drink was so so so delicious and refreshing!!!!!
staff there are quite friendly, a bit under staffed so i appreciate their efforts!!!
L. O.
Nice place, decent food. Recommend for anyone looking to satisfy their south east asian crave.
D. H.
I like the crunchy fish, but bar is messy full of boxes. I think the restaurant can be more tidy.
E. D.
I love Roti place. Their Malaysia Combination Laksa is very good value and tasty with appropriate servicings of meat etc. The drinks are also fantastic. Food comes out really fast and the atmosphere is great too.
S. H.
I bought the recommended menu and it was yummmm! I missed the taste so much
H. C.
Had fish curry with rice. It was hot till the last bite. Very smooth curry. Nasi goreng and zesty lime was wonder for humid day! Did not have halal though.
H. S.
Taste 💯 Price 💯
Atmosphere 💯 Kind staffs 💯
Visited here multiple times. Really nice Malaysian restaurant in the city. Food and service were both nice. The Migorang and Chinese styled noodle contain lots of ingredients. Very well cooked and the taste has always been good. Their iced tea was really good. I tried tangerine oolong tea which was phenomenal.
A. S. K.
Good quality, Good price as usual.
Always busy.
I had laksa, clams, roti, and crispy pork.
C.
Mad delicious! Some of the best roti I’ve had outside of Malaysia. Great atmosphere with super fast wait times. Also the coconut rice and lychee drink were just perfect. The only downside is the very limited vegetarian and vegan options
N. H.
Came here with friends, really good food :)
The Roti was awesome, will definitely be back!
F. N.
Love the food! We ordered butter herb crab and char kway teow. They were amazing! I've been missing Singapore food for so long and this really hit the spot. I was quite surprised the crab didn't cost more. I've paid more for less crab in Singapore. The staffs were very busy but they were still helpful.
K. M.
Malaysian fish curry!! the bomb
Egg Yolk battered prawns were divine.
Nasi goreng was filled with quality meat and vegetables.
Wine was really reasonable.
will be going back
N. S.
Fantastic service and food.
We were served quickly and the food was delicious and hot.
There was a lot of us meeting up for dinner and we all received our orders around the same time.
We will be back and can clearly see its a regular place for a lot of people from Brisbane. (there was a line out the door so come early)
You will not go wrong dining here.
This is a casual dining experience with a great bar selection.
Reasonably priced and good value.
R. C.
Excellent choice of food !
We ordered oatmeal prawn which is perfectly cooked with 10 prawns and small portion lettuces that give you a great touch up.
Ordered bak kut teh as well comes with the a few pieces of Chinese donut, ordered extra donut for $3, really crispy and tasty, the soup is so gentle and smooth, the pork with cartilage are so tender and soft, goes really well with the spicy soy sauce. I like the Chinese herbal flavors of it so highly recommend!
The hananise rice is full of the chicken stock flavor, not sticky or soupy at all. $3 as well.
Hand pulled milk tea is good, slightly too sweet at the beginning, wait for the ice to melt, the taste is just haven!
Kaya roti for choice of desert, just like think pancake with pandan sauce and sugar sprinkle. Yum!
This is a busy shop, full already after open 20mins.
Food came pretty fast, means the kitchen is well prepared. Staff are friendly and efficient. Great service 🥰
Definitely will come back again😎
10 starssssss

A little slice of Malaysia located in the Brisbane CBD. I was pleasantly surprised to find this joint and found the whole experience — aesthetic, vibe, and menu reflective of Malaysian culture.
Food wise the roti is delicious, accompanying curry sauce is good too. My laksa could’ve done with a little more heat. Char kway teow had solid wok hei flavour.
R.
Roti Canai, Fish Curry and seafood Laksa were all delicious and at a reasonable price. Good open space and friendly staff. Recommended.
J. M.
One of amazing place in Brisbane to eat. Place is right in the middle of city and very cozy and clean. Their staff is bubbly and very helpful and polite. Love the way they treat customer. Oh and about food I could say best crab in town with very reasonable price and the veggie taste amazing too. Definitely will come agin to try another menu. Keep up the good work 👏🏻👏🏻
옌.
Food is amazing. I especially enjoyed the roti and the oatmeal chicken which tastes similar to cereal shrimp, one of the famous cuisines in Singapore but the oatmeal was preferable for me💕. The squid dish was also great but if I was to suggest, the dish gets cold too fast with that plate. So it would be better with the wok or something that can keep the heat of the food. Overall was great:) Thanks!
C. Y.
We visited here on new year's day and Oh my! This place reminded me of authentic Singapore food and drinks. The laksa, salted lemonade, and roti canai were spot on! The cutest thing was that a little girl came over and served me the drink :) thank you
K. T.
Very nice food and very friendly service. The young man making the roti looked impressively highly skilled. This place is busy during the traditional lunch hour so try and get in early if you can.
B.
Had dinner here on a Friday night. Got in around 7:30pm. Didn’t have to wait for a table for 2. Had the sizzling tofu, and butter crab.
Wet napkins provided :)
Food was great! Good service and very reasonable prices.
Tables quite close together, very noisy.
j. m.
Singapore Chilli Crab was amazing ✅✅, salty chicken fried rice ✅✅ & the curry beef delish I’ll be back so many more dishes to try
K. C.
I’ve come twice now. Service was friendly and quick. It wasn’t busy on both occasions. The food was certainly generous and delicious. The prawn noodles were quite good albeit with Bak choy instead of kang kung leaves.
The roti is freshly made and you watch it being made too.
Recommended.
N. T.
To was craving Malaysian and this hit the spot. Getting the roti and a seafood laksa. Both dishes were solid and I would come here again. What I don’t like is the ordering at the counter - in peak time there is very large wait times
T. P.
Amazing laksa best ive had in brisbane and I've tried them all. Superb thick broth massive serving and reasonably priced. Well done Rotti place!
M.
A modern, comfortable place serving good Malaysian food. The roti canai is good, freshly made - crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, but the curry sauce is somewhat mild. The beef rendang that is served with the nasi lemak is the "wet" style and slightly tough, and mild. The sambal that is served with the nasi lemak is tasty but quite mild. Overall, if you like your dishes to have chili heat, you will need to ask for more chili to accompany your dishes.
W. L.
Yummy Combination Laksa!! Prawns were a bit undercooked but everything else was great. The taste of the soup, the comfortable seating (they didn't mind that I took a whole booth), the friendly staff. Even a variation on my noodles was accepted efficiently and with much professionalism. They even asked me how my meal was afterwards. 4.7 stars!
R. N.
Great food, good location and fast service. Lots of place to sit indoors and outdoors. Does get crowded during peak hours, so make sure you have a booking when going as a large group.
Edit: Went in again yesterday and tried the roti and chicken curry. The curry was good but roti was a bit more oily and stiff. Service was good and reasonably priced. (Reducing your 3 stars)
r.
I especially love this laksa noodle and prawn noodle:) the most delicious Malaysian restaurant in Brisbane for me

Very tasty, reasonably priced, warm customer service. Definately recommend and I have return

Very tasty food, plenty of Malaysian favourites on the menu. Service was very efficient.... We'll be back!

Amazing food. I probably order from here at least once a week.
P. K.
Excellent roti and very affordable pricing. I am definitely going again.
S. C.
Delicious food. Cooked fresh in the kitchen. All the different dishes had amazing tastes and we really enjoyed everything.
C. T.
Best char koay teow i’ve ever found in Aussie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ generous portion and reasonable price! Would definitely go back when i visit Brisbane again someday~
D.
Tender Hainan chicken - main course plate - (though not with pink marrow) and tasty beef rendang. And great prices too!
Second visit - Hainan chicken rice; kam heong crab; roti tisu!
Highly recommended!!
j. c.
We go here regularly for the roti with curry, laksa and beef rendang. Consistent quality. Service fluctuates a bit, depends on whether u get the female or male waiter/ess. Could be a bit cheaper though. Kitchen could be tidier especially as u pass on ur way to the toilet. Also toilets could be cleaner.
L. G.
The food is amazing, best malaysian authentic food in town. We had a bit of everything and all the things we ordered were absolutely fantastic. Its a casual place but can also be a good place for a date. The whole crab dish is the most ordered meal l, its vary tasty.
J. T.
I can’t even begin to express how much I enjoyed the satay chicken skewers! Crispy and crunchy on the outside but perfectly cooked on the inside. And the sauce omg... beautifully sweet and buttery satay. The rotis were light and crispy but not as buttery and fluffy as Papa Rich. Overall great experience! Yum!
J. K.
Most of the food was good, I had the mee goreng and we also tried the roti telur and nasi goreng, but the roti tisu was cold when it arrived and the server even got the sauce wrong. Price was on the slightly higher side.
J. S.
We loved their cereal chicken dish. The mee goreng was very tasty and the serving was very generous. But their chilli crab isn't the best and they fried bun was too oily.
M. W.
Quick & tasty lunch. $5 roti canai & $7 satay chicken skewers (entree). We got there at 11.45am easily got a table for two. The place was full, with a line up, when we left at 12.30pm
M. K.
Always good food. Soft shell crabs always nice. Hanan chicken as well. Heck it's all good here
A. O.
Great value chilli crab. The staff are friendly and helpful. The service is quick. Would go again
M. S. F.
This is one of my favourite place to go for lunch in the Brisbane CBD. I always have roti canai alongside my main. Food is yummy and great service.
Z. Y. C.
If you're looking for some exotic and tasty food commonly found in Singapore/Malaysia, then here's the place to go! It might not taste the same but they do have a unique touch to them! It's a really comfy place with friendly staff service. Also, if you drank too much water (which you might as their food can be slightly spicy), just ask nicely and they'll tell you how to access their secret toilet!
A. V.
One of Brisbane's gem to eat in. The food is phenomenal and the service is tops. My favourite are the chilli crab and the laksa soup. Wow🤗🥘🍲
L. C.
Good selection of Malaysian food. Very busy at lunch time, pre-booked and pre order if you are in a large group.
T.
Chilli crab to die for. The mantou buns are perfectly cooked for dipping into that amazing sauce.
Their roti is pretty damn good as well, but for me it's all about their chilli crab. This place definitely has a Singapore feel to it. Highly recommended.
S. T.
Very tasty food, plenty of Malaysian favourites on the menu. Service was very efficient.... We'll be back!
S. C.
Delicious food. Cooked fresh in the kitchen. All the different dishes had amazing tastes and we really enjoyed everything.
B. R.
A place to go with group of friends ! Yummy roti chanai. Crabs were beautifully made and the spicy fish curry was amazing! We went on a Saturday night. Wasn't overly busy and staff were helpful.
C. T.
Best char koay teow i’ve ever found in Aussie⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ generous portion and reasonable price! Would definitely go back when i visit Brisbane again someday~
D. S.
All round excellent. Can’t fault it. New favourite. I know my Malaysian and Singapore cuisine as have been a frequent visitor for 25 years. Spot on.
R. S.
Great authentic cuisine at good prices. Fast friendly service. Excellent presentation and overall experience.
F.
My combination laksa was huge and great. The variety of the meat was awesome. Would go back again. It was not super spicy (it was sufficiently spicy), next time I will ask for it to be more spicy.
A. C.
Good value food, plenty of choice, quick service. There is a good choice of rice, noodle and mains, with a variety of meats and vegetarian options available. They have home made Malaysian teas and dessert drinks. The alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced too. Most of the meals are around $13 to $18, entrees around $6.
S. B.
Went into Roti Place and was greeted by a friendly lady staff member who took my order quickly at front counter. Sandar is a real asset to Roti Place.. First class service with a friendly smile!! Was plenty of tables free in a pleasant enough indoor setting and was brought a bottle of drinking water straight away. My ordered roti canai came quickly, roti was perfect light and tasty with crispy edges, dipping sauce also good. Also went for the nasi lemak with chicken curry, which was great. All round a good tasty authentic Malaysian meal, and many thanks to Sandar!!! will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
L. C.
The food is still good. The restaurant is quite popular during lunch time on the week days so be aware there could be a wait. You usually order and pay at the counter during lunch services and they will come to your table to take your order during dinner service times.
S.
Absolutely delicious and authentic Malaysian food. Something you’d expect on the streets of Kuala Lumpur. It’s fresh and authentic. The service is also excellent and it’s pricing is very fair. It’s best to sit outside where you get an overlook of a busy city street and watch the world go by.
P. S.
The laksa is so good!!! Service is good too. Staff are nice. I appreciate the social distance between tables during this critical time of pandemic
J. J.
A friend of mine recommended this place, and I loved everything that I ordered!
Especially har mee soup which is base on prawn stock. Their is two different style of noodle inside aswell.
It’s located in middle of city and lots of sitting area inside and outside :)
K. S.
Good food, could expand Roti and Lemak options to include variety. Lovely drinks menu and decent portions which can be shared.
S. B.
This place was great! We just beat the lunch crown so didn't wait too long to order. Our drinks arrived at our table mere seconds after we did and food only a few minutes later. I ordered the roti cheese (SOOO good!) And the chicken curry and rice. I did not expect the portion size to be that big since the chicken dish was around $15. Staff were more than happy to give me a take away container for my left overs. Service top notch, food delicious and price is quite reasonable. Already planning my next visit!
F. M.
It's just at the junction if you can't find the place with google map. The sign shop is not that clear. Good customer service, nice food and reasonable price.
Y. Y.
It was good and consistent. But not cooked with love. Door was left open, so food got cold quickly. Staff very friendly, but seemed understaffed.
T. D.
Delicious Malaysian food in the Brisbane cbd! Always busy and staff are pleasant and friendly. Highly recommended!
K. D.
Fabulous roti. Great meal of beef curry, nasi lemak and Hainan chicken. Excellent service.
J. K.
Authentic Malaysian food at probably the cheapest price in Brisbane. Decent quality food, good portion size and fast service. Can be a little crowded at times, no much space between tables which is understandable due to small size of the restaurant.
N. G.
Food was amazing and prices were so good!!! Definitely will be back. The crabs were the highlight (for me) and every table had at least one plate.
K.
Everything was soooo good. I personally like the chicken with tofu dish and the shrimps with cereals on it.
T. G.
Food is overall pretty good, serving sizes are a little on the small side but with entrees is definitely filling. Regretted not getting the crab after seeing it come out for others, will definitely get one next time. Nice place to seat, bathrooms, is accessible via an external wheelchair lift but otherwise there are handful of stairs to deal with.
G. C.
Overall, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt. The food was amazing, the Hainanese Chicken Rice was as good at the one I had when I was in Singapore. It was fantastic. The Other side is the wait. I ordered my food online as I didn't want to wait too long and then still had to wait for almost 30 Mins for it to be prepared. Just be prepared to wait. It was worth the wait though.. Well done.
L. F.
cha kuey teow was fine but the tofu with black pepper sauce was non descript. mainly tofu and onions
S. L.
OMG! Salty egg crab. OMG. This is the dish that's gonna get your date into your bed.
P. M.
Probably some of the best food that you could possibly experience top class big time thanks for a great birthday dinner!
M. L.
Very tasty, reasonably priced, warm customer service. Definately recommend and I have return
A. A.
Like the food here. It is tasty and decent portion on reasonable price.
P. K.
Excellent roti and very affordable pricing. I am definitely going again.
F. L.
The service was friendly and the environment was bright. Most impotantly, the crabs were so tasty!
D. B.
Loved the crab that I had. Wish they had utensils to crack the shell though. A fork and chop sticks doesn't really work as well and takes a while. But the crab and sauce were really delicious.
J. J.
Really good food. Recommended
D. R.
The food is beautiful. The atmosphere is very busy and a bit loud. But seriously the food is as good as in Malaysia. Their Rotis are gorgeous and fluffy, curries beautifully seasoned. They do take out.
M. T.
Amazing food. I probably order from here at least once a week.
D. H.
I had the spicy chilli squid. I’ve never, ever eaten squid so tender. Absolutely beautiful. The only criticism is there was so much fish sauce. In saying this will definitely be back. My husband had the beef curry with roti, he couldn’t fault it. Great, efficient service. Thanks guys
W. L.
great restaurant with amazing value crabs and roti plus typical malaysian favourites. the food was great, service was great, value was great, and you get to see the roti chef at work like in msia! awesome!
r. R.
I ordered laksa and roti, tasty of food is good and speed of being served was fine!
P.
If you’re looking for a succulent Malaysian meal this is the place to go. Amazing food and great service
G. T.
Nice indoor atmosphere. Got Teh Tarik & ice barley water drinks to start - both were nice.
Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken was good but make sure you eat all the elements combined together.
Roti Telur took longer to come out; we waited to the point where the first dish was cold. There was no note about the wait for this dish. The roti was nice & thin. The curry dip was quite watery & would probably taste better if it was more rich. The egg wasn't spread evenly throughout the roti which made me question whether or not there was egg in it at first.
Roti Kaya was the best dish. Nice thin smears of the filling & roti was thin & crispy. The sweetness was just right.
I would return to try out their other dishes.
S. B.
Good Malaysian food with decent portions at reasonable rates.
J. Y.
Good food, good service, heaps of choices. Very delicious in general.
A. B. (. B.
Desperate for Malaysian makan we tried this place. The Bak kut teh was generous and flavoured authentically but the intensity was toned down a little. The char kway teow was great. However the roti tisu was the best. I'll be back
S. B.
Good prices, pleasantly surprised with the delicious food. The roti and dipping sauce and Hanai chicken was amazing.
S.
Best Malaysian Food around!!!
The service from Gary and the rest of the staff was impeccable 👍 Thanks so much Gary for being an outstanding person both in service & personality. Hope all went well with the delivery of your newborn😃🙏Take care & we'll be back soon with many others. 😘😘💖💖🍜🍛
k. H.
Average or below standard food. Definitely cheap priced for city but won't come back for food quality. I can see it would be popular with students as good value & nice sitting.
T. D.
Hainanese Chicken can be called authentic one and the paper pancake is creative. But the clam soup is a bit of normal.
J. R.
Great Malaysian/Singapore eats here, although I cannot give it 5 stars because they claim to have the "best chicken rice in town" which I disagree with, but a close second! Worth the trip.
J. T.
Fast efficient service - quickly eat and go. Food okay for the price you pay
B. B.
Was visiting from Melb and this was a 2 min walk from my hotel. Tried the chicken rice. Not bad. Chilli needs some work. Rice and soup decent and chicken was okay though had too much fat. Will work if you want something decent.
J. (.
- Come here for fast, efficient and relatively cheap prices.
- I've visited here a handful of times and the food isn't always consistent (in flavour) - sometime too sweet, salty, chewy meat (beef). But overall my experience has been positive.
- Service is decent, just your classic oriental restaurant type of service (i.e. don't expect fine dining manners etc)
김.
I always have the best experience at this restaurant. Great food, great prices and great staff too!😍
S. T.
The place is nice and the food is awesome and the prices are very reasonable. The Laksa soup was great.
A. C.
Food is good 2/3 times, sometimes too heavy on the seasoning.
Service is normally great, though staff sometimes are difficult to flag down as they gather at the bar or kitchen and are visibly having a chat.
M. R.
Very friendly staff and delicious food. I thought from outside it's an expensive restaurant but the menu is affordable and you get a big portion for ~12-14 $
B. R.
Delicious food and fantastic staff. I dined here last week on a very busy night. We had the Char Kway Teow and Buttered Crab. Both dishes were very authentic and we could not be happier. The staff as well were simply run off their feet that night, so sometimes it was hard to get their attention. However, when talking to them the service was professional and kind on every occasion despite how busy they were. Great job.
M. W.
Definitely loved the food here. Clean, pleasant decor and friendly staff made for a great, simple dining experience.
t. i.
If you're looking for a Delicious Cheat meal definitely give them a go . The Beef was so tender and Curry Mild the Roti was So delicious best I've ever had (Recommended by our server 😊) and Laksa Soup was delicious. Really want to take my family here in the future. Service was friendly I am not particularly fond of Malaysian Indian Hokkien style Food but Roti place has changed my mind. Will dine here again. AC was nice and cold. They serve a Refreshing Apple and Elderflower also which is hard to find in Brisbane and I mean that. Who else sells this drink?
B. F.
Great food, very good value for money and with online ordering, it's very easy to pick up my hometown favourites for lunch when I'm working in the CBD.
Z. Y.
Reasonable prices, food delivered in fast and timely manner, tasty too.
P. A.
Amazing food. Great service and worth the price. Definitely recommend
W.
This is one of best Malaysian restaurant in Brisbane. The food tasted so nice. We ordered 2 spanner crabs (see my photo) and other dishes. It is relatively cheap, so very good value for money. The place is clean and tidy, well decorated. I haven't been there for a while because I hate paying for parking in the city. They have really traditional Malay food. I think it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the city. It does get messy to eat spanner crabs, but... hey you have to do whatever you need to do to get some good food.
P. C.
- Fast and efficient service at cheapish prices
- Food can be a little touch and go depending on when you go, but overall it has been positive the times I've visited. One time i visited and the beef curry was super chewy, laksa and chicken curry was super sweet - might have been an off day for them not sure.
P. C.
Salty duck egg crab, the salty fish fried rice and Roti curry are to die for!!! Affordable prices too for a great meal :).
W. G.
Always good value. While not outstanding SE Asian fare, still very favourable and has enough authentication to enjoy. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
S. E.
Such an authentic Malaysian food experience in Brisbane. Great food, amazing, friendly service and a immaculately kept and clean casual restaurant. Have brought my daughter and son two weeks in a row and will definitely be back to work our way through the menu. Food plus staff service is 5 star plus plus👍
D. P.
Authentic malay, great value and range, and easy choice when after a quick lunch in the city
K. F.
Yummy Malaysian cuisine at great prices! I'd recommend the roti and laksa.
Z. K.
First time going here cause family suggested. The drinks amazing, the roti's are fantastic their just so buttery and delicious and the servers and owner were so attentive. Definitely recommend going here.
S. A.
Good prices and good sized meals. I saw other meals and they were large. I have only had a Laksa myself, but it was quite large and reasonably tasty.
It had a nice atmosphere and my food came quickly.
Unfortunately, the chicken used in my Laksa was day old and tasted it. Ruined an otherwise tasty dish
L. L.
The Rotis were authentic and delicious, and they were made to order; customers can see them making it through a glass window at the back of the restaurant. We also had the cheese crab & mantou; which was good, but would have been better if it was mud crab in my opinion and the restaurant providing the necessities when it comes to consuming crabs. Eating crabs are a messy business. The noodles and curry was excellent. Fried rice was average; expecting a bit more spice/sambal for my liking. All and all, the price was reasonable, customer service was good, the place was conducive (but a bit cramped), and the food was delicious enough for me to overlook the cons and come back again in the future :)
T. Y.
Great food great prices staff could have been more attentative no one came to check on any table (s).
M. M.
The food was amazing and the staff very attentive. As we arrived early I wasn't thrilled with having both tables either side of us loaded up with uncontrollable kids. Parents fault for the behaviour but thought the staff could have been more aware. Oh well we still had a great meal and I don't have to take the kids home with me😁
K. P.
We ordered Laksa, the original Roti with curry sauce, and I got a Lychee Soda. All three were so insanely delicious, decently priced for Brisbane, and the design of the restaurant was so cute. The staff were also super kind and the food was made so quickly (but high quality). Definitely recommend! Although it can get very busy.
B. R.
Really nice food. Fast service and great company.
M. H.
We weren't expecting much from this place but was pleasantly surprised. Good range of Malaysian food and a couple of dishes not seen before. We were seated quickly and served by the patient staff. The laksa was okay but the not the best. Quick, easy and tasty food for the last minute choice.
A. O.
Fast and friendly service. Delicious chicken satay and curry laksa!
M. L.
Quick service and authentic Malaysian cuisine at great prices. Can be a little noisy at lunch.
S. S.
Good value, Acceptable food portion,Quick preparation and delivery, Quality food, nice environment, and Friendly staff.
Will come to this place again.
D. R.
Great place to eat and decent pricing.
D. b.
On a Friday night at 530pm I had a sambal squid. Tasted great and had quick service.
W.
My family and I went for lunch and had the Roti Curry Chicken, Seafood Combination Rice Noodle in Egg Sauce, Salt and Pepper Squid and Roti Kaya. Everything was excellent. The curry was more rich and flavourful compared to other Malaysian restaurants and the Roti Kaya is a must try if you have a sweet tooth. Staff were all friendly and service was great.
S. A.
Highly recommended...crabs were the best..
C. K. S.
Good price with wonderfull meal. I'll be back on next time.
S. L.
Excellent customer service, clean and modern decor. Had the spicy salt and pepper squid which came with 6 large, crunchy, spicy pieces of calamari. Followed with roti with chicken curry. The it was quite generous on chicken pieces compared to other places that offer the same dish. The roti was a too thick and lacked the flakiness but still delicious. washed down with a Lychee soda which was well balanced. Costs a little over $20. Would give it a crack again, but hopefully with a thinner roti next time!
M. B.
2 great meals (Beef Rendang & unsure what my son had), entre & 2 soft drinks for under $45. And great food. Friendly staff. Highly recommend
J. R.
Located in the Brisbane CBD, Roti Place is definitely worth visiting. Friendly staff, good environment and enjoyable food. Having enjoyed my Laksa in Singapore, it was great to find a place that could give me the flavour fix. Will definitely be going back.
S. S.
very good menu and very tasty (and spicy), it was delicious. the desserts are original (see picture)!
A. W.
Really tasty Malaysian food. Ordered a few different dishes to share and they were all delish. Friendly staff and the place was clean. Would recommend
E. l.
NICE MALAYSIA FOOD 👍 strongly recommend
J. W.
Delicious fresh meals which were quick to come out. I had combo laksa with chicken and seafood. Yum!
S. M. U.
Visitors over a month ago, limited halal options I was told but roti canai was really good. Freshly made and generous portions. Plenty of options in the menu and great taste.
Generous portions, wasn’t too big neither too small.
Staff was really helpful and friendly, room for improvement in the ambiance etc for better dining experience
E. M.
So good! Can personally suggest bak kut teh, roti canai and salt & pepper chicken wings...super tasty, Roti canai wasn’t oily at all! Will be back on a regular basis
J. L.
The restaurant's overall atmosphere was good, clean and pleasant. The menu prices were reasonable given its CBD's location.
It was our first time at the restaurant, so we opted for the "standard" Malaysian dishes - Hainanese Chicken Rice, Roti Canai (w/ curry), and Char Kuey Teow. Personally, we found the food was just above average. The menu states "the best Hainanse Chicken Rice in town", but we found the chicken rice was on the lighter side, the soup was just salty, and the chicken was overcooked (since it's making comparison, the same but better dish can be found at Malaya Corner, Sunnybank). Roti was good despite its thickness and the curry was a bit too sweet (but might suit the demographic around CBD). Lastly, the Char Kuey Teow noodle was tenderly cooked which was nice; as a Malaysian, would love to have a bit more of "char/wok" flavour.
Having said all these, the restaurant is not bad. If you are in the CBD and after reasonably sized Malaysian dish with affordable price , this is your place. We haven't tried other dishes, crab dishes seem quite popular among other reviewers, perhaps they are good. We hope the review is constructive and helpful. All the best!
C. R.
Great service from start to finish and super fast!
Thoroughly enjoyed the Nasi Goreng. Have food allergy and the wonderful staff gave me alternate options . Will be back to try another dish.
Tip: try the exotic lychee beverage..one of the Roti Place House specials...yum! 👍
K. T.
Very nice food. Would come again next time
E. J.
Good food - not fine dining. Super cheap and great food for the price! Quick service. Great for a quick bite on a budget.
T.
Good food at a very reasonable price!
We went there on a Thursday night. The place was busy, which resulted in the service being a bit slow. Forgetting about a drink or two here and there, but you could tell the staff was under the pump.
The food was fine, we definitely got value for money.
1 star off for the ambience though. I suggest going there when Micheal & Aunt Marg aren't dining though. And rest of the 'Allan clan' didn't help either. We could hardly hear ourselves talk. Or even Vinny try to convince us on the new flavour item of the month, let alone tell us how good Canada is.
Half a star off for when I saw an Asian person try to size up their friend for suit fittings. Which resulted in a butt right in the face of other patrons.
However, it was nice food at a cheap price with average service.
R. M.
No frills south east asian food! Friendly and attentive wait staff. Menu needs a bit more variety in my opinion to attract more than just the lunch specials crowd during the day and to extend as a popular dining venue at night.
P. D.
Been here several times now after being enticed originally by a Scoopon voucher. Have to admit the fact they were issuing discount vouchers to drum up business made me a little nervous about the potential quality of the food. That trepidation turned out to be totally misplaced! We just love a really good Laksa, and this place makes the BEST! We’ve tried them just about everywhere around Brisbane and no one else comes close to this place. The Laksa here is creamy, spicy, aromatic and packs an incredibly authentic flavour punch that’ll have you dreaming of your next visit.
We’ll definitely be back again..and again...and again...
C. G.
Great service from a super bubbly waitress. Incredibly delicious beef cheek entree. Other meals were good but not amazing. We had chorizo appetiser, char grilled steak and Christmas turkey. Liked each other's meals so much we swapped! …
f. f.
Yum yum yum.
Great food. Clean establishment.
It's nice to see the roti being hand made and freshly cooked.
As for the other reviews regarding slow service let me just say this. The staff on are go go go to meet everyones needs. The foods worth the wait. I've never waited more than 20mins which allows me to have a drink, chat with friends and review other dishes on the menu.
Definitely going back again next time in brisbane
P. K.
One of the best Malaysian restaurant chains in Brisbane.
Good food and great serving sizes for a very reasonable price.
Yummy crabs available for a bargain. Highly recommended their crabs, Nasi Goreng, Me Goreng and Roti Chennai !
Y. S.
Great food and very reasonable price :)!
J. G.
My favourite restaurant in Brisbane. The food is amazing and the service is exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. If you love Malaysian food this is the best place to be :)
c.
I enjoyed the service today. Fast & friendly (on a not busy Tuesday night). Pork tea was yummy.
Below was a different experience a month ago in March. On balance, I now give 3 stars.
We, a group of 18, waited almost 1.5 hrs for dishes be served. The reason Roti Place gave was that 2 out of us 18 ordered entree, so it had to delay the whole serving...
Roti Place is not for big parties.
N. S.
A friend recommended this place, and after spending time in Malaysia I was keen to try. The service was fast and courteous, and the food came out quick with nice presentation. Will definitely be back for another lunch in the near future, as the flavors were delicious.
R. M.
Couldn't get enough of this place during our most recent visit to Brisbane. The food is always delicious and perfectly portioned. The roti canai is a must-order item, as is the laksa. It does get crowded during the evenings but service is still quite good.
N. A.
Delicious Malaysian food, great prices, excellent service and a clean, well-presented restaurant that is really well cooled in summer. The rendang beef curry, nasi goreng and roti kaya are all highly recommended. We will definitely be back!
k. c.
Why is 4 of 5 stars. The missing 1 star I'm giving to their breakfast, unfortunately they stopped their breakfast service. I miss their Breakfast Curry Mee.
Overall, Roti Place is a good restaurant. They have authentic Malaysian food and good variety menu. My favorite food from the restaurant is Hainan Chicken Rice, this is my personal recommendation.
N. S.
Went in with my family for a late lunch. The staff were extremely helpful, the food was great and they accommodated our little added requests with a smile. Well worth the price for the quality of food. Will definitely go back.
S. M.
Do yourself a favour and eat this roti. The curry sauce is amazing.
S. T.
Staffs were mostly professional and friendly, price is okay, rice dishes' taste are okayish. Absolutely LOVE the cendol.
P. K.
Extremely authentic Singapore/Malaysia food. Good pricing and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
P. D.
Great food, value for money, variety of dishes and service.

I love this place
O. W.
Excellent, fast lunch time, dine in experience.

Fresh roti always and all ingredients with it are yummy. Definitely come back

If you're looking for a Delicious Cheat meal definitely give them a go . The Beef was so tender and Curry Mild the Roti was So delicious best I've ever had (Recommended by our server 😊) and Laksa Soup was delicious. Really want to take my …
M. C. A. D.
Best laksa I ever ever try it in my life
L. L. P.
I will generally come here once a month to have dinner
T. B.
Excellent food. I had been avoiding this place because it looked very pricey from the outside but ventured in today and I am glad I did. Staff are attentive, food is delicious, priced very competitively, portions are just right. Not sure why there was a pappadum served with the Nasi Lemak. This is going to be my Malaysian benchmark for Brisbane from now on. Food is too mild, ask for spicy if you like it spicy.
J. W.
It's moderately ok. We had the lime chicken & rice (portion came great after we "conplained" it was too small), yau tiaw (not recommended. Too expensive for a tiny bowl), prawn noodles, chicken rice (not recommended because the rice wasn't chicken rice style but plain rice). Wanted cendol dessert but they have none (was on the menu). Limited soupy noodles variety.
R. L.
I used to come to roti place all the time. But just have to really make a review about my order last night. The Char Kwaey Teow was toooo oily. They must have cooked it when the wok was not that hot. Normally, I can finish one order by myself but was too oily that I had to take away half of it and reheated it in my wok. It was so oily that after reheating I had to use sheets of wax paper just to take the oil off.
My suggestion, it would probably be worthwhile to invest in an experienced cook or chef.
Also the waitresses are not smiling while serving. I get that they might be having a bad day but you shouldn't be bringing your grumpiness to your service. Hope they get some proper training.
S. G.
pretty good roti and Singaporean rendang. popular with locals and a nice outdoor area.
V. L.
Absolutely beautiful Malaysian food. The roti chanai is outstanding and for $5.50! The beef rendang and seafood laksa are out of this world. The reasonable prices matched with how good the food is makes this one of my favourite restaurants.
I. H.
The food here wasn't very nice, but that may have been me. The staff here were very quick and efficient.
A.
Absolutely delicious food, and super friendly polite staff. There was a miscommunication when I placed my order over the phone which was identified when I picked up our food, but staff quickly cooked up fresh food in under 5min and without charging me! Will definitely be coming back :)
A. B.
Unbelievably delicious food. Beef Rendang with Roti is a show stopper. Portions are huge great value for money. Slowish service at times but settle in and make sure you're hungry and ready for a feast
Y. R.
Delicious food that is great value for money. Loved the taste, potion size and speed of service. Restaurant was clean with a nice ambiance. The only thing I didnt like was that we had to get our own water with tiny cups and the jug was slow flowing.
But other than that I would highly recommend. EXELLENT food
C. L.
Cheese Roti test delicious! Everything is good.
M. W.
Good, fast service. Food is fresh and good value for money. The management were really helpful in making sure our large group was able to be accommodated and they did a great job.
M. C.
If you want decent malaysian food, on a budget, this is the place. We tried plenty of the menu and enjoyed all of it. The staff didnt communicate with each other as we were asked for our order three times by different people. We didn't have any crab which seems silly as they specialise in that. Tables around us had it and looked good. Plus they all fished it off.
Again, super cheap food and good roti canai
김.
food portion is little bit less than i thought but great taste
K. S.
Food was very good, service good and prices very reasonable. Best Roti I have had in Australia so far. I have been looking since I moved back here from Malaysia. The cheese roti is highly recommended. Will certainly return!
N. B.
We had a lovely hot meal that was served without much wait. Courteous staff. We'd love to go back and try a few other items on the menu.
C. H.
Wen & the team were so lovely! The restaurant is so clean, tidy & fresh. The service was very quick and polite. The food is very tasty & it is great that you can see through to the roti kitchen.
c. f.
Good location delicious roti crispy and good portion size :) come for roti :)
Chicken skewers were too dry, sauce quite thick with peanut but not enough spices.
Fried rice was overcooked and average.
A. S.
Just enjoyed a meal of Singapore Chilli Crab and Oatmeal Chicken plus the Roti and curry sauce - fantastic flavours and generous servings - we will definitely visit your restaurant once we are released from House Arrest
V. M.
Only ordered takeaway but all the staff I came across were very attentive. Even while waiting they smiled and let me know it won't be much longer. My Teriyaki Salmon Don was reasonably priced for a city lunch, came out within 10minutes and it was delicious!
R. F.
So tasty! Curry chicken is so tender and the roti are perfect. Also accommodated us in a large group on a late Friday night.
G. W.
The food here is pretty good and the staff are friendly. Salted fish and diced chicken fried rice is very good. The Nasi lemak not very traditional especially with not much sambal given. Overall, a nice place to eat.
I. F.
never had Malaysian food before, but my first time has been amazing! Very tasty chicken satay and melting in your mouth the roti curry with the typical bread! MUST TRY!!
I. T.
NOT HALAL....if you are looking for halal place to eat, it was confirmed by the waitress and they served pork on the menu. But the waitress was very polite to me. 3 stars for not my kind of place.
I. E. B.
Good food, clean and comfy place!
V. D.
Great Malaysiasin fish curry enough for three..service not the best but food is great..
E. D.
This place was OK when it first opened, but it's become AH-mazing. Lots of options. Perfect lunch catch up venue. Great char on the egg sauce noodle & char kway teow. Yummy drinks. Love the curry, roti, rendang. They just need to have kopi and milo ice for 6 stars (☆^O^☆)
W. W.
Had mee goreng, nasi lemak, and roti canai here a few weeks ago, and also tried out their breakfast promotion last Friday. All the food I've tried were tasty and I think reasonably priced. Am keen to return to sample other menu items, including chilli crab!
D. S.
I went here on a busy Friday evening. The roti was fantastic and the other food we had was great. Service was good considering how busy it was. I will definitely revisit
S. H.
3 stars not for the food But for the service! we had asked a servant to order food But He forgot to tell the kitchen! cannot believe that we wait for more than 30min at around 8 o'clock. feeling extremely hunger. really angry and annoying! But they tried to compensate us. well in short, it is fine. i wanna give 3.9 stars lol.
btw food is super good.
J. v.
So far the best Asian food in Brisbane. We even have been to fat noodle but Roti Place is wayyyyyy better! The tomyum soup is to die for! The chilli Crab is the best ever, and my husband has tried it all over the world. The pork dish melts in your mouth.. must try when in Brisbane you won't regret it! And we are fussy eaters, ENJOY!!!!
H. S.
We love the Singapore and Malaysian crab here. It's one of the best. We also like the roti canai, nasi goreng and rendang beef. I totally recommend this place if you are fond of Malaysian food.
J. G.
Fantastic food, great prices and brilliant staff, the restaurant looks great, defiantly one to put on the must eat at list!
H. S. L.
Such flavoursome food and good servings.
M. S.
Nice ambience, quite authentic Malaysian food, awesome service, reasonably priced. Highly recommend the roti tissue (sweet crunchy bread, good for entree or dessert), char koay teow (malaysian fried noodle), bak kut teh (herbal soup) and hainanese chicken rice.
B. V.
Thanks Gary! Awesome organisation from taking booking and allowing our numbers to grow and being able to comfortably accommodate everyone!
Thank you for taking our pre-orders and organising it all!
Food, Service and Ambience all second to none!! Delicious! Will be returning to go through your menu!!!
M. C.
A perfect spot for a casual meal. The flavours are awesome and the portion size is really generous and all served promptly. A great find thanks to Google maps.
G.
Pretty good food at reasonable prices. Was initially disappointed by my first experience of chilli crab (very little meat) but enjoyed roti and mee goreng very much. Friendly service and swift preparation time.
C. P.
Food is really great. Once we order food came really fast as well.
Only draw back is, We got a table very back of the restaurant and need to go to the front to order the food.
D. D. A.
The food was very yummy and the staff work hard. Food comes really quickly
S. C.
Excellent place to eat. The curry sauce is amazing with the roti bread! We couldnt decide what to get so ended up ordering four meals with the best one being the laksa noodle soup! 👍
S. M.
Tasty food. Authentic flavours. Good serving size. Nice ambiance. Good service. Must try Laksa.
D. K.
Great food, can get a little busy at lunchtime. Good value too!
D. C.
Excellent cuisine and service from staff. Authentic flavours and good serving portions. Highly recommended for those seeking good Chinese/Malaysian food.
J. B.
Had great service, with a smile, and awesome food. Had roti canai and Har Mee soup. Both tasted authentic and scrumptious.
L. M.
Bustling lunchtime atmosphere, reasonable prices, authentic flavours and cooked to perfection as it would be in Malaysia.
T. B.
Very casual dining experience, the food is great. You have to try the Roti and dipping sauce. Great value for money here for a city restaurant.
E. M.
This place is great! I love the roti with chicken curry. It's only $12! The most expensive thing is crab and it's only $20 something. Highly recommend this place.
P. M.
I'm from Melbourne, and picky with my Malaysian food. I've tried their laksa and hainanese chicken rice. Taste like home. They will give Paparich a run for their money.
J. B.
Gotta be my favorite place to eat in brisbane. Fast service with a smile and the food is amazing. I eat here all the time I'm in Brisbane but lunch and dinner, we can't get enough of it.
H. J.
Lime chicken was really good
c. T.
Yum the food is so tasty. It is very busy so get in early for lunch. The service was great. Highly recommend the food
G. M.
Excellent food - having roti with curry might look simple but it's delicious, and nasi lemak is a good choice. Also there are some unusual drinks which are great.
L. (.
As a fellow Malaysian this is the best Malaysian restaurant/chain so far in Australia I ever been to, it’s really authentic Malaysian food some say it’s quite authentic but it’s very authentic as it can get, feels like I’m in KL as the atmosphere, service and food is good so far
S. H. L.
Great value food and great customer service! Quaint restaurant with cute interior. Highly recommend :))

A decent place for malaysian in the city. Go for the indicated specials, roti and crab. Some of the other options are not that good. Price is well priced for the city

Food was nice and reasonably priced
N. S.
Goid food, big portions anc pretry affordable. Laksa delicious. I will back for sure.………………………………………………………………………………

Very tasty food. Staff were super helpful, despite also being super busy.
D. M.
Excellent food and flexibility with the large number of people being served in our group. Hope to return to peruse the menu further.

Malaysian Fish Curry is AMAZING

Great roti and beef rendang curry! It is busy during lunch but not bad waiting times. Can't wait to try other dishes.
