Their soft shell crab entrées is very tasty, worth a try. Tempest basket is average (fish was a bit soggy side). The Peruvian Paella is okay. Let’s see how the dessert goes.

This place exceeded my expectations way above the board. Ordered grilled octopus and wild mushrooms as entries and they were absolutely fantastic! For mains we got pasta and seafood paella - they were cooked well in their sauce and were absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Great evening and atmosphere with great friends. Food was fresh and cooked perfectly. Moreton Bay bug and lamb was amazing. Our chef was lovely and really fun. All staff were very attentive and super friendly. Only requirement would be that the inside area where lobster tanks are and toilets , do need an overdue upgrade. For such an awesome place and location, just be nice to feel an overall classy feel.

Shared the Tempest Hot Platter with my partner. The platter was generous and mostly good. Took a little bit under an hour to receive after ordering though. Calamari was a bit cold. Lobster and grilled prawns were slightly over cooked. Oysters, octopus, bugs and scallops were very good. Fresh prawns were okay (had better). Service was polite and friendly. Overall a good experience but a bit over-priced for quality of seafood provided.

Thank you Tempest team for making another celebration so incredibly special! The seafood as always was super fresh and delicious. Seafood platters were scrumptious and fantastic value! The perfect amount of seafood to keep our bellies full, including delicious juicy oysters and prawns. The staff go out of their way to make the experience memorable. One of our members was suffering with hot flushes but was looked after with cool towels and ice - a lovely caring touch! Our waitress was wonderful, frequently checking in on us and taking group photos of us to add to our special memories. Also helped us with organising candles, and plates for the birthday cake. This is a favourite of ours and our constant go to for special occasions and that will never change 😊 we will be back! Does not disappoint and exceptional experience with great atmosphere

I have been eating at Tempest for a long time, the food always of the highest quality. It was a nice surprise to learn that they have now a Peruvian Chef. The ceviche was superb, not to mention the seafood rice. Will definitely come again soon 👍🏽

Celebrated the birthday of our 5 year old twins here and had a fantastic experience. Chef Yugi was very entertaining and everyone had a really fun time. The only thing I'd tweak just a tiny bit is that some of the food was a little too salty for our tastes. But I highly recommend the experience.

food was first class, 6 star meals... tasted amazing, presented brilliantly... the service however did not match the food and when you visit a venue like this, you expect the service to be great... it just wasn't... We were never served water throughout the whole visit although other patrons were. The water glasses were on the table two out of the four were dirty, one with a large chunk of dried something in the bottom of it. There was only pepper, no salt on the table. we were there with our two children 5 and 9 but were never given kids menus, had to ask for those after being there for a while. We were never asked if we wanted a second drink, we have to ask after having empty glasses for some time. Our main plates were half cleared, then we were offered dessert, they didn't take the rest of the plates, a few minutes later a different person came a took one other plate... some time later we were served dessert but still had dirty plates, including prawn shells on the table, had to call the waitress back who dropped off the desserts to clear the dirty plates... one waitress dropped a knife, another waitress walks straight passed it... a not my jobs type attitude... when we looked ta the bill after leaving we were charged for the 2 kids soft drinks even though they were meant to be included in the kids meals at $18.00 dollars - turns a reasonable kids meal into an expensive one when charged another $4.00 None of these things by themselves are much of a drama but when all of this happens in the same visit it just shows and lack of care, its bad planning and makes for a much lessor experience than it should... a real shame.

Dined at Tempest for the Valentines Day Special. Our first time at this restaurant. Lovely setting beside the marina and the Seafood Platter to share was delicious. The desserts of Creme Caramel and Tiramisu were okay but the Tiramisu was a bit dry. The waitress was nice but left us waiting for ages before she started to clear our table after we had our mains but didn't come back to finish the job until after our dessert arrived. Then we had to wait for dessert cutlery and then only had spoons and no forks. I dropped to four stars because I felt the service could have been better. We would probably go back though.

I had been to Tempest about 2 years ago and had the seafood platter and wow! They have really upped their game! We had the Tempest platter for two (8th October 2021) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There was a great selection of seafood and my cocktail was very tasty (Rose Lychee Martini) The platter was very filling and we were unable to finish it even though we both have a good appetite. Tempest you would get 5 stars of you put a garnish in my Martini and if you made the lobster without the mornay sauce. It's a bit of a tragedy in our opinion to mess with something delicious with and overpowering sauce. All in all, great service and a real improvement on the food so well done. 🦞🍸

So glad we came for Teppanyaki lunch at Tempest. Fine dining with a show that's entertaining and interactive. Chef Yugi and his team do really know how to prepare a great meal as well as provide entertainment. Kids or adults will enjoy it. You can select your own or choose a suggested set menu.

Seafood platter is amazing. Great choice of cocktails. Sangria is lovely too. Could put a crab in there to complete the assortment, but can’t really complain with what you do get. The staff could do with some enthusiasm. Seems more like a chore than being there to provide a service.

My daughter took me for lunch today and the salmon and mussels was one of the best meals I've had. The Lindt torte was also excellent. Her Red Emporer was perfectly cooked and the drinks selection was vast, a delicious Watermelon Martini. The staff were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, attentive and efficient. All I can say is AMAZING! We recently celebrated a mates birthday and all 8 of us were impressed with everything. Between us we had a wide spread of different menu items and all of it was delicious and seriously generous portion sizes. We had dinner here for the first time recently and will definitely be back! The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! The menu had plenty of choices for all with seafood, steak, pasta etc. Good range of drinks, beer, wine and cocktails which were reasonably priced. There's on-site parking and the restaurant is wheelchair friendly. Plenty of space between tables, so we didn't feel like we were crammed in like some places.

I recently went to Tempest for my work Christmas party initially I had my concerns as I'm Vegan but when making the booking they assured us that Vegan dishes wouldn't be a problem. The service was fantastic, the restaurant was beautiful and clean not to mention right on the Marina. Chef Ericko made me the most delicious Smoked Tofu dish which absolutely blew me away, the flavours went so well together and all the ingredients were fresh and vibrant. I also had the Dukkah and Vegan Arancini Balls which were just as impressive. It was such a great day and I loved it so much that I went back again 2 days later and was completely blown away all over again when Chef Ericko made me Sweet & Sour Cauliflower bites. Can't wait for my next visit to Tempest you guys are amazing keep up the great work!!

Hey had a great entertaining Tepenyaki service with several friends. Food quality was mostly excellent. ...Except the Prawns, not only powdery, but over done. Which is ironic as the meal service was very hasty and pressured to eat quickly. But overall for an experience for the inexperienced it was a nice time. ...Oh, but was perplexed when I ordered a bottle of saki which took 20 minutes to serve, as they had to go to a storage area to get it, and evidently unable to serve chilled. Bit odd for a Japanese establishment.

Have been to both the Teppanyaki and the Seafood restaurant. Both were wonderful. The Teppanyaki is a lot of fun for the family or for a date night - a good selection of set menu options and add ons, a good beverage selection too, including a range of sake. The seafood restaurant is also great - if you can get a table on the water its just lovely in good weather. Highly recommend the Oysters Mitoyaki and the peruvian ceviche.

A wonderful restaurant. We dined al fresco rather than in the restaurant itself with views of the trawlers and marina as well as the sunset, so a great outlook. The staff were excellent, attentive and on hand at all times. They were courteous and couldn't do enough for us. The food was a amazing, cannot recommend highly enough the tempura prawns and the sticky pork belly with scallopsfor entrees, as well as the lobster we had for the main course. All was cooked to perfection and tasted scrumptious. We will definitely be going back. Thank you Tempest for making our 10th anniversary extra special.

We had the teppanyaki dinner as a group of 6. The chefs did everything and every joke to engage the diners. Occasionally the jokes were atrocious but you got to give them points for their enthusiasm. After setting fires to the Teppanyaki and making the meat tasty with Japanese “Pepsi”, is followed by catch the egg with your mouth challenge and catch the bowl of fried rice. Unless your mood is deeply disturbed, most people will find this an entertaining meal. Food: Very tasty. I didn’t think I was going to like Moreton bay bug but it was absolutely delicious. The chicken, salmon and scallops also very good. But I think the lime sorbet was a wonderful ending to cleanse the palate. Price: Good price for the food and the non alcoholic mocktails only $10 Atmosphere: I’m sure most people will have a good time. I thought it was rather noisy at times but I’m not in my youth, and I’m not naturally attracted to big crowds and parties. Seatings: tables and seatings are compact and when there’s a fire (plus menopause hot flushes), it was a bit hot sometimes, temperature wise. Would I go again? I suppose, for special occasions such as birthdays.

Tempest Seafood Restaurant and Teppanyaki Grill I was visiting Brisbane to see my family. I suggested we go find somewhere and have a seafood lunch. Mum suggested Tempest which is near Morgan's Seafood Market. I was with my parents and one of my daughters. Without a reservation we were seated at a table for six on the upper level, which as it turned out was perfect. It gave us more elbow room. On perusing the menu we agreed to two Scarborough Platters. Each platter has both hot and cold seafood suitable for two people. We had to wait about 30 minutes but it was worth the wait. The platters were large rectangular metal trays on a heavy wooden stand. The set up is impressive. Each platter consisted of Moreton Bay bugs, hot garlic prawns, cooked cold prawns, battered whiting fillets, a pot of cooked mussels in a tomato-based sauce, sushi rolls with the associated accoutrement of pickled ginger and soy sauce, natural oysters, kilpatrick oysters, smoked salmon, calamari, mixed fruit, salad, and the best chips I've eaten in a long time. This would have to be one of the best value hot and cold seafood platters I've enjoyed in a long time. The mussels were a real treat, my had daughter had been expressing how she was not a fan of mussels because she had only experienced the cold variety on offer at seafood buffets. Such mussels are often a little chewy and tasteless. These hot mussels were tender and very tasty. The oysters were small but plump and full of flavour. The Moreton Bay bugs were quite large and full of flesh. I really liked the addition of the sushi rolls too. The only disappointments, if I can call them that, were the beer battered fish and the crumbed calamari. Both were a little soggy. That said the fish was delicious and the calamari was tender. I'd highly recommend the Scarborough Platter for two at Tempest Seafood Restaurant.

It was our first ever Teppanyaki lunch at the Tempes Seafood Restaurant and Teppanyaki. I can honestly say the head chef Yugi is the greatest cook I have met so far. He was hilarious and kept everyone laughing with all the interactive food games, and the chef assistant Lufki was kind and helpful. The restaurant just out over the water, and you can dine while watching the boats in the marina. The food was absolutely delicious and left you completely satisfied. The Moreton bay bug was heavenly. Thanks to chef Yugi’s secret sauce. We definitely plan on coming back! Maybe to try their famous “all you can eat seafood buffet” for a very reasonable price on the last Thursday of the month. Would recommend to anyone to go check it out also.

Was a bit worried about dining for Teppanyaki here as I am not much of a seafood lover... However, the Fuji set on offer (lamb cutlet, eye fillet) with wagyu upgrade was perfect for me. Three stars for the chef. Tired place, needs a good tidy up. Food OK but not spectacular. Wouldn't pay $72/head for calamari, chicken and a shared piece of steak. Might have been nice in the 70s. A better alternative would have been the Sakura for $56/head - prawns, chicken and eye fillet. Add a very small bottle of Saki between two and I'm thinking for a Groupon Deal - $59 would have been been appropriate rather than $89. The chef saved the night.

We were so excited to find Tempest Seafood online and have a special dinner there this evening but unfortunately the experience doesn’t in any way match the price point. From the moment we walked in the service was unfriendly almost bordering on feeling like we were a nuisance for choosing to dine there. Despite having a booking and the restaurant being very slow the table was not ready with a high chair as we requested and they attempted to seat us away from the water when there were many empty tables next to it which were not set or clean. When I asked the guy if we could wait for them to clean and sit at one of them instead he gave me the dirtiest look and really rude response. Getting the order taken and everything from there was fine and the food was good apart from the calamari which had barely any calamari on it and lots of fried flour however the side plates were never refreshed, so we ate everything with the taste of mussels and we didn’t have the proper cutlery for anything - no spoon for mussels or ceviche , no oyster fork etc and servers were not around to ask (although at that point we were aware them doing their job annoyed them so we probably wouldn’t have anyway since we wanted to enjoy our nice meal out). We waited a bit for table to be cleared and helped ourselves to menu from other table to look at deserts before we decided not to have any. When we finished and paid (approx. 170$ for 2 of us with our 8 month old baby) we left the restaurant, walking by 3 employees who didn’t even acknowledge us to say goodbye or thank you. Overall we wouldn’t return due to the bad service regardless of the food.

Our waitress Shay was great and made us feel welcome and comfortable from the time she introduced herself as our waitress. She was attentive, professional, well polished, well presented and knows exactly what she is talking about. We were very indecisive with what to order and Shay took the time to answer all of our questions about the menu and could explain the menu and each meal very thoroughly. Shay took the time to find out what seafood we enjoyed and then recommended dishes that she thought we would enjoy. My partner and I both went with her recommendation for our main and entree and Shay also paired a drink with each course that fitted with the meal and flavours very well. We had a mix dozen of oysters with the glass of pipers brook champagne that was recommended. My partner then had the lamb and scallops. The lamb was cooked to perfection and the “zema” cab merlot that Shay paired with this meal fitted perfectly. I then had the bug and prawn linguine. My god!! It was to die for. Again the wine that Shay had paired with this meal went perfectly. The presentation and flavours of the food, the location and the atmosphere of the place was a 10/10. Our whole dining experience was more than what we expected and we cannot wait to dine with you guys again. My partner and I thank your friendly staff and we are glad we have found our new favourite place to dine.

I had never tried Teppanyaki before (I am a fussy steak and chips type person), but my wife convinced me to give it a go for lunch, so I did. The salad was first to come out, it had salad dressing which I can't stand so did not eat that, who goes for salad anyway. The soup came out next, I don't eat soup normally but was tempted to try it, sadly I could not get past the smell :) so I did not eat that either. I heard the people sitting to the side of us say it was delicious, it probably was but I don't handle odd smells very well at all. Veggies were next, they were beautiful, cooked through perfect but still had a nice crispness to them, not soggy and limp. I chose Teriyaki chicken and Barramundi, my wife had the steak. It was too much for me but I still ate it all and it was amazing. My wife loved the steak and let me try some it too was beautiful. I will get the chicken and steak next time. The chef finished off the cooking with a fried rice which was different to any fried rice that I have had, but I loved it. The whole experience overall was great, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the chef was hilarious and it was really cool sitting right there watching him cook. He told jokes, played games and just made the atmosphere perfect. It was all finished off with a really yummy lemon and raspberry sorbet. I will be going back for sure.

I had an amazing experience there today in the teppanyaki part of the restaurant, my partner and I were lucky enough to sit with a beautiful family who were celebrating Easter together and we had a wonderful time with them. The price was reasonable for what you received, in fact i actually said to my partner I would be willing to pay the same price and receive less quantity personally as I could not eat it all. We ordered what I believe was the tempest pack. The chef was very entertaining, the food was of a high quality, the wait staff were very friendly, organised, and professional. It's been some time since I have had such a good experience & to top it off the family we sat with were regulars and paid for my partner and I's meals without asking for anything in return. Tried a few different teppanyaki restaurants over the years and Tempest is the best. Love it so much we’ve been multiple times. The first time we went it was a part of Morgan’s, the latest was a week ago and the Teppanyaki is still an amazing experience. We went there yesterday night for my wife’s birthday, and it was fantastic. A little mix up to start with, they sat some people at the teppanyaki tables, and when we arrived there was no space, even though we had booked. Visited for the first time this weekend and was not disappointed. The oysters, tuna, garlic prawns & tempest basket were all devine. The ceviche itself was delicious but the pairing with sweet potato was an odd choice. The cocktails were lovely but we hated drinking our Martinis out of plastic. The atmosphere was relaxed and non-pretentious however the larger deck that we were sat on felt a little run down and disorganised. Overall we still had a lovely evening and meal; and despite the slightly inflated prices, would absolutely return.

Oh my Lordy! The venue is beautiful, the staff attentive, courteous and professional in their service. The food, I’m my Lordy! We shared oysters and muscles, just perfectly done. I had Miso Moreton bay bug and man oh man! The serving was super generous and the flavours were superb. My table companions had the lobster Mornay and snapper and their comments were of the same caliber. For desert we had tiramisu, torte and passion fruit mousse. Oh my Lordy! Amazing! If you want seafood prepared at its finest this place will more than satisfy.

The venue was very busy but the FOH team handled it with grace and the BOH team did not let the quality of our dishes slip. The beef and reef will live on forever in my heart as a top 10 feed. There’s something poetic about eating Moreton bugs while watching a fisherman unloading bugs from his catch only stones throw from our seats. 10/10 recommend, 5 stars, etc.

To describe my experience with three words would be, enjoyable, delicious and fresh. I went for a nice lunch, the food was absolutely scrumptious, the scallops and prawns were fresh whilst the roast pork was succulent, accompanied with a crackle that gave a nice crunch to the bite. The food however took a considerable amount of time to arrive, over 40 minutes which was a bit concerning seeing that the restaurant was not very busy. The staff were fine however a bit stale personality wise, there was one waitress however that was quite down to Earth and nice to talk to. I do recommend this restaurant, how could I not with a breath taking view and food that is well worth the price.

Pricing is reasonable for restaurant of this level. Service differs from time to time depending on the staff level. On the occasions when staffs are sufficient, service is great. I find The Tempest restaurant at Scarborough a little bit of an enigma. The first time we attended we had the seafood platter which was fabulous, every bite a flavour sensation, fresh, fresh,fresh, words escape me it was so good, honestly you could not have had a better seafood meal anywhere. The variety of the seafood platter hot and cold with even sushi included and the accompaniment was a sensation. For drinks we simply had a daiquiri each. Once again magnificent, very large and all we needed to compliment the meal. I've always been hesitant to return to a restaurant after having a fantastic meal, part of me wants to be there again the next night, part of me knows you're flirting with fate to try to relive that sensational dining experience again. Unfortunately I was right, our next visit to The Tempest restaurant was a little disappointing. The seafood platter was smaller with less choice, the crab on it we had to send back as it was mushy. Replaced with a better but not great crab, however the daiquiris were up to their usual standard, beautiful. All in all it's a very nice restaurant, good views and the food if not sensational very good. Well worth a try and a lovely drive down to the bay. If you can, I would suggest lunch through the week when the crowds would be less and it's a lot more quiet and personal. The staff are very good and friendly and do a great job. Quite a few ticks. Been going there for 5 years off and on, can be hit and miss. On Friday it was both, my wife and our friend both had bugs, 1 with miso which was more like a garlic cream sauce, our friend had lemon butter, unfortunately his were dry and over cooked. I had soft shell crab which was lovely but my main was snapper and prawns with a passionfruit veloute? The snapper and prawns were perfect but the passionfruit had no reason to be in that dish. I originally wanted bugs thermidore but was told they couldn't do that as they stopped doing thermidore bugs because of too many complaints about the bugs being over cooked. Chef error. But i could have it with the lobster, please explain? On leaving we mentioned all of this to Zac who was maitre d and he explained they had new chefs due to Covid and they were still trying to get the combination right. He gave our friend a $50 voucher to make up for the bugs. Thank you Zac, Chris our waiter was very helpful as was Tania. All in all we will go back when the new menu starts.

The Staff, their wonderful hospitality, the assortment of redwines from WA, and the quality of FRESH SEAFOOD was IMPECCABLE .May I strongly suggest you throw caution to the wind and select the seafood banquet, it was decadent, delightful and Delicious!!! And mamma mia the lindt chocolate torte for dessert was devine. We are very fussy when it comes to quality seafood but Tempest delivers...and more.

I’ve had teppanyaki previously, but I didn’t realise what proper teppanyaki should be like until I dined here. The quality of the food here is top notch. I ordered the tempest set menu and it was a delight from start to finish. The wagyu steak was tender and juicy, highly recommend a menu with it or taking the upgrade. The meal was complimented beautifully by Chef Yugi’s skill and vibrant personality. His mastery of the grill is unparalleled and his performance of the meal is a sight to behold. During Covid this restaurants adherence to social distancing is commendable, so I recommend anyone visiting if they can.

We had a table of 28 to celebrate a milestone birthday for my sister in the restaurant on the deck. Everything was perfect and it all ran smoothly. It is in a lovely position over the water, and the food was perfect. The staff were very refreshingly skilled, helpful and courteous. I highly recomend Tempest for a visit whether a meal for just 2 or more. Our daughter celebrated her 18th birthday in the Tepanyaki Grill not so long ago and that went without a hitch as well. Great atmosphere, food and service. Congratulations Tempest and keep up the great food, service and atmosphere. Looking forward to our next visit.

WOW! this is a fantastic seafood restaurant. The food, atmosphere, service and staff were brilliant. We were told on our arrival that the restaurant was fully booked and advised us to order our food early and that there might be a wait. I have to say that the fact they they were honest enough to let us know made all the difference in the world. We were happy to wait for our mains (Beef and Bugs and Bugs Mornay which was so fantastic!). We were given updates on the arrival of our meals and were also given a complementary plate of the most delicious prawns. We were so surprised by this and were very grateful. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We chose the seafood platter to taste as much as possible and would highly recommend ordering that for a couple or group. My friends and I are all massive seafood fans and we loved it. I think it's well worth the travel from Brisbane to eat at Tempest. We will absolutely be going back and I can't wait to try their Teppanyaki section

I can't speak for the seafood restaurant at this place but if youre looking for great teppanyaki food AND a good night out then this Teppanyaki restaurant is amazing! They have great options for people who don't like seafood and want to stick with meat and chicken. They also have options to create your own menu. You would think that you will be hungry afterwards as the portions aren't large, but because you have so many dishes (soup, salad, terriyaki chicken, steak, lamb, fried rice, sorbet - and seafood if you choose to add), you are left feeling pretty content. Besides great food, the chef's and their involvement with your dinner experience is fantastic. Chef's engagein little challenges, fun games and really put on a show for you. I would recommend having a group of people to experience this restaurant with as going with just another person doesn't give it the high experience as it would with other people. The point of the night is to have fun, and this is purely done by laughing at and with family and friends. Extra points to this restaurant for having online menus that include pricing.
