Went to The Royal for an extended family dinner celebration. Very happy with the service , quality of food and attention to special dietary needs for Coeliac and nut allergies. The staff checked on our meals several times, and offered the birthday twins a complimentary dessert or drink. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All positive for the evening!

The Royal is just average in every way. Went yesterday for lunch. Only about 10-15 customers in the whole restaurant. Waited for almost everything. Staff apologetic about being understaffed, but were just wandering around in a daze. What do you expect from teens? No Rosè on the wine list which was confusing. Food arrived. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins. Supposed to be simple Italian fare, however, really poorly executed. I don't prescribe to forcing staff to wear masks, but what's the point of wearing one if its not covering your nose and mouth? Won't be rushing back, if at all.

We arrived around 1230 on a Wednesday with a group of 12 - we had booked for 15. Staff were nice and moderately helpful in bringing our initial drinks and nibbles which we ordered through their automated app. We stayed around 2 hours - a couple of us got mains - one took 40 minutes to arrive. Nobody cleared any plates or glasses the entire time we were there. I took our group's plates to the counter and they sat there even as we were leaving. Food was good, spatchcok was great, bruchetta very average. Service was almost non existent. There was a fruit fly in my drink, and a cockroach crawled across the floor at one stage. Whole experience was ok, food got a 4/5, service and overall experience got a 2/5.

Really friendly staff, and surprisingly good menu for a little pub. I had the crab Lasagne and it was excellent - came with a great side salad that was well dressed in a homemade dressing.

It was our first time dining at The Royal and what a refreshing and excellent place to dine. The service was impeccable and the food just magnificent, we had the Al Dente Spaghetti with prawns and the Braised Lamb Shank, both were sensational. They have an extensive wine list and great beers on tap. It was a busy evening but the service staff were so attentive and happy to go the extra mile, we would definitely recommend The Restaurant as the place to go in Nundah. We live in Wellington Point and we will absolutely be back again.

I get takeaway from here every so often (Uber eats) and the food is always consistent and reasonably priced. Great flavours and very fresh. The al dente spaghetti dish is a standout.

The staff here were nothing short of exceptional!(Especially after some difficulty in the restaurant which was handled very well!, thankyou!) From *josh* downstairs in the pokies bar area to the lounge bar and restaurant. Beautifully decorated and wonderful service! We attended a wonderfully intimate and wonderfully run show/concert upstairs in the lounge, cannot recommend it enough! Will definitely be back and bringing my friends!

Food was good. Pizza is delicious. And that's the only reason I'm giving this 3 stars. But they double booked a function room. I was there for an ACU clubs and societies executive teams mixer and we were there at the same time as the comedy club. I have never felt so humiliated. Granted, we were being rather loud, but come on! We had that room booked, too! The comedy club disparaged us and we ended up moving into the bar proper halfway through the event. It was not fun. Please don't double book events in the same room, regardless of the amount of space available. And if you book with them, make sure you ask them. It was a fun night, regardless, because of the people I was with. But that does nothing for the fact that the hotel allowed a double booking.

My friend and I went to the Royal Pub last Saturday to listen to a jazz show, only to find out it was cancelled due to a private function. We weren't really impressed as there was no notification of the jazz evening being cancelled due to the private function.

Was here on a Monday night. Was a nice atmosphere and the service was friendly. I also appreciated the special half price meal offer. Unfortunately my partners pizza was pretty much inedible. There was sooo much cheese on it that it was a soggy mess. The base was also soggy in the middle but burnt on the outside. My pasta was nice, but was disappointed as my partner had to get another takeaway on the way home.

We dined at Royal Hotel Nundah tonight...it’s not the first time we have dined at this hotel...the food, wine & service is amazing...on every occasion we have met Annie who always greets us with a smile & makes us feel so welcome...I couldn’t believe it when I had ordered a white wine Annie appeared with a glass of ice in case that was what I wanted...how special did she make me feel? She always goes above & beyond her normal duties...she was very helpful with our menu choices & couldn’t do enough for us...I don’t normally do reviews but Annie certainly needs to be recognised for her customer service...her smile is infectious & she always gives us a laugh...our family regularly gets together once a month but because Annie has made us feel so welcome we will be back once a fortnight...thank you Annie for making us feel so welcome..

Amazing lounge bar with classic cocktails which are sure to impress and a well laid out gaming room. No TAB unfortunately however they were accomodating to my request to watch football. Alright food, but don't be in a rush because you will be late for your other arrangements. And definitely don't bring up the speed of the service as you will be lectured on how you should have booked a table for 1 at an empty resturant. once waited 45 minutes for a cold pizza and then got scoffed at for asking for a takeaway box. food is USUALLY good quality and well priced but service is abysmal.

Have become a regular here after many years of visiting at odd times. Its a great place to have a beer after work or enjoy some good food during the day. Currently, my work uses this place as a common meeting spot for staff and clients. Its conveniently located, staff are always friendly, the beer is good and the food is great value for money. Had dinner here about 2 weeks ago. Waitress and waiter were very polite and informative. All four at our table ordered the rib fillet steak. All four steaks were cooked perfectly. Both of our waiters were very attentive and checked up on our meals at least 3 times each! If this one experience was anything to go by this place is a hidden gem in terms of value for money, and the service which was provided. Hats off to the team at the Royal - we will be back.

The Royal has been a nice restaurant for a while and really consistent with the quality of food and service. Everything I have tried was good but I want say that their pizza is one of the best in. Brisbane. The price is fair and the people that works there are really friendly. Love the fact that it is easy to find a park near by. Fully recommend it but make sure you book a table as it gets busy.

Second time I've eaten here. Staff are very accommodating and courteous. Possibly due to being unusually busy for a Tuesday (as per staff suggestion), I found the eating experience better at the first visit, and the 150 Lashes I requested ended up being Pilsners...which my tablemate had ordered. He seemed perplexed that his Pils tasted a lot like Lashes... Aside from this, a very nice place to eat, food is usually excellent, and I'd absolutely recommend to others 👍👍

Love this place. Friendly staff with a good selection of drinks of all kinds. The outside area is really relaxing to watch the world go by; with a drink or having a meal. Lunch prices are good, though with a limited specials selection. Parking is available nearby, under Woolworths. Plenty of room inside for mid - large groups (you would need a reservation)

Just grabbed lunch here with my husband and son. Food was excellent. I got the lasagna with salad, I put that away like it was nothing. It was lite, tastey, saucey, the pastry was not heavy at all, very minimal cheese, loved it. My coffee was amazing as well and came out with a cute raw sugar cube, my son loved his pizza and free ice cream to take home, my husband's pizza was also delicious. Niccolo was wonderful and great with our son and very informative and great to chat with. Can't wait to come back!

Thanks very much to the Royal for accommodating 13 noisy crazy kids today! The Head Chef and his team were amazing - they taught the kids how to make pizza and the kids were so excited to eat their own food! The waitresses were so kind, patient and helpful! The kids were awarded cute pizza chef certificates and felt sooo special being able to go behind the scenes! COVID-19 restrictions aside, it is a fresh, well lit and well laid out and themed Italian styled pub. The menu is Italian as are the chefs and head bartender. Yhey have Peroni and Birra Moretti, and Australia beer, on tap and the food was resobably priced and of very good quality. Will definitely be goibg back. This was a Sunday lunch visit FYI. BELLISIMO

I'm easily impressed with good service and the ladies at The Royal didn't disappoint. The selection of beers did though. It advertised Peroni outside and while those 2choices were on tap, there was no mention of the IPA and Stout craft beers on tap. The pub itself is very upmarket trendy and decor has exposed brick and a great local feel. Given the number of people there, it's a popular spot and one I would happily return to for a drink. I didn't eat this time but the menu looked interesting; Italian inspired and mouth watering.

Came for a late lunch early dinner...about 4pm the food we received from the all day menu was outstanding...lasagne sounds boring to order but the sauce and fresh pasta...top quality...highly recommend. none of our meals were a disappointment and the service and quality were consistent throughout our time at this place. The crowed a classy, cool, crew who love a beer on a Sunday. We ended up joining tables sinking a few and heading upstairs to be entertained by a fabulous bartender Ian who knows his classics and is a hidden gem for northsider folks looking for a mean drink. This chilled place can be dangerous...because they know good product and service and attract a fun crowed without being pretentious .. Will be back once I recover from this week's escapades.

I am a professional person and eat out at least 6 times a week The English has got to be one of the best venues I have ever been. Authentic Italian food is great, great value and the staff are the best I have had the pleasure to meet. Cezanne who seems to runs the place seamlessly is friendly , honest and a delight. This hotel has set a benchmark for casual restaurant eating out. I cannot say enough about this pub/venue. A top place..,...top food, and above all great staff 10/10 in my book. I was one of few there and enjoyed chatting to the security man to pass some time. Friendly staff and open late with much gaming available. Their bistro provides good value meals. Spacious rooms and snooker available. Handy to taxis and buses, and a ten minute walk to railway. Big night there when major boxing is on the big screen, same with State of Origin football. Nice to have a venue open late in the suburbs.

I have been here several times now. The food and service is always good. However the portion sizes can oasionally be small, and it can sometimes be hot in the restaurant. During peak periods it is best to make a booking as it can get very busy. The decor around the restaurant is also very italian inspired which makes for a good atmosphere.

Have the portion sizes changed? I had spaghetti bolognese for lunch yesterday as I have had many, many times before. Normally I can hardly eat it all or am left extremely full. My friend got the Cannelloni and hers looked bigger than mine. I asked the waitress and she said it was normal. I explained it always seemed bigger and that I was still hungry. The waitress just looked at me and walked off. Pretty disappointed.

The kids were very well catered for as they were served first and looked after attentively by the staff. My partner's fillet mignon was amazing and the torta desert was the best desert I've had in years - Lindt chocolate tart which was oozy inside, partnered with the best salted caramel ice cream I've ever tasted. The Royal used to be a dingy pub that I'd more than likely avoid as much as possible. However, since its been redone I can't get enough! The Royal has been transformed in to a family friendly, bustling restaurant that's serves great food and drinks! We came here for a birthday celebration and had a great time! Meals were brought out promptly, service staff were friendly, drinks were great! Everyone had an amazing time. I'll definitely be back and recommending The Royal to everyone who wants quality food at decent prices.

The food is great however I just had to wait over an hour for my food, multiple tables who arrived long after us received their food more than thirty minutes before us. We spoke to the manager who was apologetic and gave us a $50 voucher for the long wait. This restaurant was one of my favorites in the area, however I won't be in a rush to return.

I usually go for the specials of the day but there is also largely a mix of standard 'pub' food with modern twists to cater for those wanting a traditional Australian pub meal. In this case I would recommend the Pollo Parmigiana with a pint of Peroni.

When the Royal first opened we are here every week - the pizzas were amazing. However quality has dropped and toppings are scarce. When I order a pizza where the only topping other than herbs is prawn, I would expect at least 1 prawn per slice. Unfortunately the pizza now only comes with 6 prawns on it. Fantastic meals and interesting surroundings make this a worthwhile experience. We went back after the insistence of the manager, Cesar, after a less than ordinary dinner where an ordinary pizza arrived (and was consumed) after specifically ordering a gluten free base. Cesar went out of his way, and moreso than any other restaurant manager than I've come across, to offer support for any medical treatments as a result of the mixup and to invite us back for another go. I don't usually like to give places a second chance, but the lengths that Cesar has gone to to ensure that we had a proper dining experience is above and beyond and a credit to his restaurant and wider industry. To top it off, the gluten free pizza was devoured by my two kids, who would rarely eat more than 1 or 2 slices each. Highly recommended.

This was my third visit to the Royal, first visit was a quiet weekend lunch on the patio. Other two visits i meet up with my work collegues for nibbles and wine. To have a good chin wag, we all met up in the back bar, where there were lounge chairs, away from the noise this was around 5.30pm, however after an hour we all noticed it was quite dark, lights were very dim, almost needing to bring out your tourch lights, which surprised me. Our next visit i suggested we catch up in the main bar, no problem with lighting, good amount of atmosphere. Again my collegue and i went to see where we could get a bit of space for the 8 of us, we went out the back bar again, and noticed it was extremely dark. I asked the waitress why is it so dark as it is very hard to see one another, she replied" it was to set the mood", my collegue and i both looked at each other, eyebrows raised, both thinking similiar, what mood would this be?. This projected an image of seediness, where people didnt necessary want to be seen. This is off-putting.

Drinks were great - the limoncello is a great choice as it was perfectly made and well priced! If you haven't already, try the gelato either as an affogato, or on its own (come on, be a big kid, it's worth it). Can't wait to go back!
