Comments of Three Blue Ducks

We had the brunch here with unlimited drink menu. Dishes were well presented with great view over the Brisbane river. Service is quick and professional.
But most food just tastes mediocre and nothing special. The highlight is the vegetable gnocchi which is very delicious with the toasty flavour.

have already been a couple of times and loved the service and atmosphere. My most recent visit was nothing short of wonderful. The meals were so delicious! They also had a menu just for the kids called ducklings ( I see what they did there). The kids LOVED the broccoli. I’m serious, they actually want me to make broccoli like that at home now ( I guess I will need to get myself a hibachi grill). The steak was done medium-rare and it was really perfect and my bugs were melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Don’t even get me started on dessert. YUM!
We were treated so well by the staff there and they made sure our dietary requirements were easily met. The very talented Chef Pawel also came by to check on us. It was so great chatting with him about his food experiences and it was also great to be able to let him know how much we enjoyed our meals and the wonderful service of the staff there. We will definitely be back there again especially because the kids really enjoyed it too. Thank you all for your wonderful hospitality and looking after us so well, see you soon!

Absolutely amazing and consistent Three Blue Ducks experience at the W Brisbane. Fresh ingredients, delicious meals and great space with views. Very friendly service with a smile. Proud Mary single origin coffee that you cannot possibly go wrong with. Whether staying at the W or just looking for a great place for a Brekkie, this is my go-to for a great meal, coffee and service.

Went to Three Blue Ducks a few months ago to celebrate our anniversary. Lovely ambience and food was divine! Our waitress was brilliant - made excellent suggestions and ensured all dietary requirements were catered for.
L.
Absolutely great experience! From the welcome, the considerate service to the delicious meals. The restaurant has a great view of the river and a very relaxing ambience. The food is worth the visit. Definitely recommended as a place to come and celebrate a special occasion. Enjoy the photos-we can still taste the flavours when looking at the pictures!

- Outstanding view
- Some food food was great and some ok, prawns were perfect, scallops over cooked and rubbery, bugs a little dry
- Ordered a martini and it was served with whole olives with pitts, almost broke a tooth.
- Service was all over the place, took 20 minutes to get a drink, with only 8 people in the restaurant. Our server introduced themselves and then we never saw them again, 2 other people then served us. Everyone was really positive, the service pattern was just confused.

After an amazing stay at the W, I was looking forward to a breakfast at TBD that would be just as good. Outside of the amazing view and modern decor, everything else was a bit haphazard. The eggs looked great when served but they were firm/rubbery and service was a little all over the place especially when chasing table water or paying the bill. I didn’t feel as if the $ value of the food, including $6 for additional avocado, aligned to an exclusive and value for money experience

Beautiful presentation, food service was a little slow , Drinks and Table service were excellent. Fantastic location for city and river views. Decor is at best Average minus
Food presentation and preparation were excellent

Decided on a last minute Friday date night to Three Blue Ducks. Had the Kingfish and Scallops for entree, Moreton Bay Bugs and Snapper for mains, Roast Potatoes on the side. Food was decent, pretty chilled out atmosphere and overall fair experience.
M.
The food was delicious. Amazing at catering to dietary and their duck mite (homemade vegemite) is soooo good. I had breakfast and dinner there.

We went as a group for dinner. We got the potatoes (so good), broccoli, lamb shoulder, cauliflower salad, snapper, prawns ,scallops, gnocchi and bread. We managed somehow to finish it all off and there wasn't a single thing we didn't love. Really tasty food and fair serving sizes. Dessert was also nice and had a dairy free option which is a win.
The cocktails were pretty nice, they don't look fancy but we well made.
The view is really lovely, when I went for lunch being sat in the baking hot sun wasn't great so if you go in the day, I would suggest asking for a table in the aircon/shade. At night it was fine and not too hot :)
I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews, the food is simple, delicious and made for sharing. We'll be back for sure

Dined here during a stay at the W. Despite initially struggling to make a selection - something we never normally do - we eventually made our choices and were not disappointed. Lovely balance of flavours and considered technique.
We'd previously dined at 3BD in Byron, whilst this visually/aesthetically is a very different experience, the food is the star and should be what is celebrated.

Christmas Lunch was overall very good, but course sizes were quite different. Quality excellent, service good, but mismatched course sizes very disconbubulating
J.
Really airy and amazing views. Waiters were attentive and suggested delicious plates with generous portions. A little on the pricey side, but very well worth it. Thank you Brisbane
K. C.
The service was great, the location is stunning! I tried the Kangaroo as a starter & love it. Then had the John Dorey for my main which was delicious, both dishes had so much flavour! My husband was really happy with his lamb & side of potatoes. Will definitely be back!
C. C.
You’ve gotta love the nature of the Three Blue Ducks - great food -great view - great location! Love the Ribeye & Pork cutlet. But seriously The menus! Great when your watching the sun go down - not so great when it’s dark and the Ambient lighting won’t Illuminate the dessert menu!
It’s not the restaurant’s fault - however dark background with black letters doesn’t work! Suggest a change - easier to read for us old folk!
Overall loved the experience!
M. W.
Excellent views and service. The mains and desert were well presented and delicious. A brilliant father's Day experience
L. B.
Had a really lovely dinner here on Saturday night! The view was spectacular and the food was quite nice! There was a bit of a mixup with our dinner ticket, but the Manager was very nice and apologetic for the hassle. Overall, will definitely return for the beautiful ambiance and yummy food! Only food critique, the chicken portion was a bit small and the side of potatoes were a bit overcooked.
A.
Perfect restaurant for a romantic date night, warm comfortable atmosphere with a lovely view of South Bank. Service was attentive and dishes were tasty with the exception of a couple. The swordfish was a little bland and was not served medium rare as advised. Spanner crab did not go well with the betel leaf because the proportion was not right, there was not enough protein on the leaf and the flavours I could only taste were the betel leaf and peanut sauce.
A. H.
A true dining experience. Great food knowedgable friendly staff and, subject to availabilyty, good views.
Don't be put off by the set menu as there was plenty of options and also plenty of food.
S. T.
We had a beautiful dinner here. The staff were amazing. The food was perfectly cooked. We ordered 2 drinks that we didn’t like and they did not charge us for them. Highly recommend

Celebrated NYE and hubby's birthday at the restaurant. It was a prepaid event almost $200 per person. Package should've been served as soon as we were sat down but waited for 10min at least with no one paying attention to us. Had to walk up to the front reception to get someone to serve our table. My chair also had prickly broken cane bits that my dress was getting caught on, so had to stand at the table in awkwardness until another chair could be brought over.
Food was surprisingly unimpressive and bland for the price paid. I swore the fried wild rice on the crackers looked like fried worms... See second photo. Cracker was soggy. Gave dietary request when making booking for no goats cheese, cracker entré still tasted faint of goats cheese, had to give it to hubby. Kangaroo tataki was actually the best dish of the night. Lavender cocktail was very nice. Great service from our waitress (Ying) later on in the night. Time stamp on the chocolate was a nice touch.
Overall, quite disappointed with the restaurant considering it was a part of W.

I've been to 3BD before for a work event, and loved the food, atmosphere and view. So when it came time to choose a place for dinner on our wedding night (after a morning wedding), I thought of them first.
When I called to make the reservation (months in advance), I explained it was for our wedding night, asked if we could either order the banquet menu or just pre-order food/wine off the regular menu to elevate the experience a bit - and if we could please have a table with a view. The person who took my call was disinterested, said flat out no on the pre-order ('we don't do that') and a half-hearted maybe on a table with a view ('I'll put a note in your file and we'll try to accommodate it'). I wasn't comfortable with this, so I messaged the events team and received a slightly less apathetic reply, but definitely nowhere near meeting expectations for a restaurant of this caliber. Not even a congratulations or recognition that it's a big deal for someone to choose to share their once in a lifetime day with your business - just an 'ok I guess we could do that, here's the menu' (I'm paraphrasing for effect here.
It was disappointing. All we wanted was to feel confident that the people who would be looking after us would show a bit of genuine care. Ultimately, my now husband and I decided to go with a different restaurant rather than risk having a subpar experience on our wedding night. We had fabulous service, the staff all knew it was our wedding and just went a tiny bit further to make us feel special. Now that's the place we will go back to for birthdays, anniversaries, work dinners, etc.
I understand my request was outside their usual way of working, and no restaurant needs to accommodate special requests...but come on, it was for 4 people on a Tuesday early evening, the request would have taken such minimal effort but would have made a huge difference to our wedding day and made a lifelong customer for both personal and professional events. And they just couldn't be bothered to care.
So in summary, I might go to 3BD opportunistically, but wouldn't recommend you try to plan any events here.

Absolutely the best dining experience I have had in a long time! Easy parking down under the hotel, the ambience is beautiful - you overlook the Brisbane river/Southbank. Timely, friendly, fun service by happy staff. Food was INCREDIBLY delicious, the only things we said our whole meal while eating was over and over how delicious it was. We were barely talking, it was too enjoyable! Do yourself a favor and get the lamb shoulder with a bunch of sides - best lamb in all my life and I'm early 30's!! 😊😊
My friend had the muscles and raved about them too, especially the broth they were in!
Yummy dessert, good coffee and amazing cocktails. The best part is that it feels and tastes like a 5 star experience plus it's majority sourced local, organic and sustainable food/wine...but the price tag is so reasonable!! Also, it all came out so fast and the portion sizes are awesome!!
Can't wait to come back!!

Great views of the river and QPAC and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and service was efficient. I enjoyed maybe salmon - it was tasty and the meal wasnt too heavy. The menu wasn't particularly inventive or broad, but there are probably enough options to suit most people - including gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. My dish was on the pricey side for what it was, although there were many less expensive dishes too. Overall a nice place to eat.

Arrived by Uber in the evening. Probably best not to drive, as it seems very busy with cars going in & out. Outside appearance of Building looks trendy with a big well lit W outside, so you can't miss it. Very spacious inside. Nicely decorative, modern & artsy. Beautiful bathrooms. Very impressive on first arrival. Staff are very welcoming & attentive to detail. We had the best table outside on the deck overlooking Brisbane River. The views were spectacular. Food was mouth wateringly scrumptious. We tried several dishes; such as the chicken, lamb & eye fillet. Worth seeing the Wet Deck three floors up afterwards for after dinner delights. The artistic design on the pool and surrounds are mesmerising. Definitely worth the visit.

I’d give a 5 out of 5 to this place. Absolutely knowledgeable staff who were so attentive and nice throughout my dining experience there. From the food itself to the wine pairing, you can tell these people have great knowledge about what they are doing! Very affordable prices too, 32 for a huge plate of beautifully done mussels. Oh and the oyster, so fresh and sweet! I’d say this is a place that won’t go wrong! Highly recommend. Will defo be back

We had dinner at this place with a group of people from work to celebrate the end of the year. The cocktails are to die for and the highlight of the night. They had a select cocktail menu and each one of them was excellent. I would really like to point out how attentive and caring the staff is — staying in until late to serve us and take photos. They had a kangaroo tartare bushtucker entre that was really interesting and tasty; a great blend of australian botanicals and fruits accompanied.
Generous seating capacity, Three Blue Ducks was an excellent choice even with every other Brisbane fine dining option booked out for weeks in advance.
The view across the Brisbane river, the bridge and the Ferris Wheel were fantastic. Atmosphere is semi-formal.
A.
Glad we chose this place for our Christmas eve dinner because it was beautiful. A nice location on the 3rd floor of the new W Brisbane, Three Blue Ducks sits looking over the river.
Before you get your hopes up there was no duck on the menu, but we loved the choices we had. We struggled to decided between seafood platter for two (they were popular and looked amazing) or to share the T-bone and some moreton bay bugs.. They did not disappoint!! It's recommended to also order one or two sides to accompany the dishes.
Both were cooked perfectly and oozing with flavour.
Staff were lovely, service was quick. Only a short wait at the end to pay when there was also an influx of patrons.
M. P.
Food was excellent but service was mediocre. The hotels view was breath taking... however, we were seated behind a pillar and wall thus we couldn’t enjoy this spectacular view. Seafood was excellently presented and cooked. Enjoyed every part of the meal. I wish the waiters were more knowledgeable and friendly. Made me feel awkward and unsure about asking questions.

We had a really nice night out starting at Wet Deck bar & then to Three Blue Ducks for a big birthday dinner. The staff at TBD are attentive, friendly and do their best to ensure you’re having a nice time. The venue itself is beautiful with stunning views, excellent tunes, and lovely facilities. The wine and drinks list was impressive. I wasn’t drinking that night and unfortunately my first virgin-mojito had to be sent back as it tasted like 70% lemon juice & 30% soda. They quickly replaced it, and the drinks service was great for the rest of the night. We had a very large booking of 18 guests, so we expected there might be delays in the food arriving, so we had actually ordered a week ahead from the set menu.
Unfortunately- this didn’t seem to help, as it over an hour of sitting at the table, when our mains arrived. We had ordered breads and dips ahead too, however, these never arrived. We had dinner at about 8:40pm, which we quickly devoured as we were quite hungry at that point! The food was interesting. My partner had the chicken dish, which, was basically 1/2 a chook with a huge chunk of sweet potato in a small amount of juś. There wasn’t anything fancy about it at all. A lot of our table had the chicken, and half of our friends said it was a bit dry. This dish needs a bit of work I think. I had the chorizo salad, which was nice, but the pickled red cabbage was very overpowering and made the dish a bit hard to get through. The apple, lentils and hummus balanced the pickled cabbage somewhat, but the salad also needs a bit of work too I think.
The desserts came about an hour again after the mains, at close to 10pm. By this stage we were a bit restless. The desserts were amazing, no complaints here. The only thing that might have been a little better would be to have been able to crack the top of the creme brûlée. But with so many of them going out, it might have gone soft before it reached the table.
We were thankful that they let us split the bill- that was very good service.
Overall, quite a nice night out, and I would recommend to perhaps a small group or couple, as they need a little more experience with large groups like ours. We will probably be back to sample more of the menu as it becomes more established.
Food: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Atmosphere: 5/5
Value: 3/5

Entree is “Sunny Coast raw king fish with paw paw salad.
Exceptionally well balanced dish to open your appetite. Well use of fresh mints red onion and paw paw to bring the favour of king fish” well done.
Main : Pan fries king prawn with Kale a touch of spice and chilli
&
Spiced grill chicken with corn purée.
I personally think the chicken is a little lack of favour. Even though it is a grilled chicken but the chicken can be juicers through longer marinate.
The corn puree was a perfect match of the chicken.
Desert was the high light, creams brûlée was one of the best I ever have, the size was very generous, enough to share between a couple. Apple crumble and passion fruit was surprisingly serve very well with the brûlée.
A very pleasant lunch, big thinks to the serving staff, very professional and hard working.
I would surely give this specially Ducks another visit soon.
H. P.
Three blue ducks has a beautiful atmosphere and is quite big in space where seating arrangements are quite spread out. Our waiter was Sandra and another man (sorry I forgot his name!). They were both very helpful in suggesting food, drinks and how much food to order for two people.
For entree we had octopus, some of the best octopus we’ve had in Australia and sweet potato hummus, which also didn’t disappoint and was one of my favourites.
For mains we ordered the chicken with a side of pumpkin and broccoli. The pumpkin was unreal and very flavoursome. The chicken and broccoli were also delicious. I would recommend the chicken for two people (the lamb is apparently quite large and we couldn’t finish the chicken!)
At this stage we were full, so I would only suggest one side dish if there’s only two of you. However we couldn’t resist the dessert menu and shared a creme brûlée. It’s quite large compared to a traditional creme brûlée, but was still amazing and a perfect way to end the meal.
I tend to like more sweeter cocktails and can recommend the Amaretto Encounter cocktail and the Lavender and Berry cocktail. Would highly recommend coming here and can’t fault a thing.
N. l.
Fantastic quality food. With fresh local ingredients for every meal. Great views of the river and over to Southbank. Decent cocktails and mocktails but average service from the waiters.
A. A.
A nice place with nice view of Brisbane river. Nice setting and spacious. Staffs are nice and friendly. Service is good too! Enjoy our lunch here. The food are good, cooked nicely.
鏡.
The food is amazzzzing! Would highly recommend. I never ever expected a hotel restaurant to serve such a great portion. Would definitely come back here and the other affiliated restaurants of W hotel. Thank you for opening on this Sunday only, feel like it's just for us:)
G. F.
Nice breakfast with buffet overlooking the Brisbane river.
Food offerings are fresh with an interesting middle eastern / Asian skew.
Service was really friendly and fast considering it’s a hotel breakfast room.
I had the salmon and eggs with chilli toast.
Not a fan of Dukka but it seems to be a thing at the moment... (please let that moment pass)...
Busy on the weekends I imagine it’s a lot more quite on a week day.
C. P.
Went here on Tuesday night. Shared the babaganoush and flat bread, the lamb which came with zucchini and peas and the ducks cauliflower cheese. The babaganoush was amazing and the lamb was perfect. I like the zucchini and peas side but found the cauliflower side a bit dry. My friends got bits and pieces and enjoyed it all. The service here is amazing! The downside the prices are a bit expensive for what it is and the seats weren't very expensive. The deserts were really good though.
P. J.
Good food and a good wine selection. We had a table on the balcony with excellent views overlooking Southback. It's not cheap but it's a great dining experience.
F. S.
We had a great evening here with good food, great city night views and good service.
We shared the lamb and the catch of the day as mains. It would have been nice jf the staff would have served the fish/lamb for everyone, especially with the fish bones in the fish. Both was delicious.
For dessert we had the chees platter which was good and big enough for 3-4 people after a big meal.
The facilities at the restaurant are great and the staff was very nice during the night.

3 Blue Ducks
Laid back welcoming dining room with eclectic chairs and basket lamps, on the 3rd floor of the W hotel overlooking the Southbank of the Brisbane river. No tablecloths, very soft linen (textured?) napkins. The wall of windows opens to allow outdoor dining, traffic noise can be loud. Music is an eclectic mix of 60’s 70’s and 80’s. Loud enough to set the mood, but not too loud to enjoy your companion’s conversation (or eavesdrop on your neighbours if you dine alone). Free hotel wifi.
Menu is varied with lovely exotic influences. Veg, Gluten free and Non-dairy items indicated with acronyms.
Still or sparkling water offered. Food is gorgeous and nicely plated, without being pretentious. Portions are perfect, prices moderate (for Australia, they are actually low for a restaurant of this calibre.) Compared to other hotel dining rooms- cheap!
Sourdough bread could compete with the best Boudin in San Francisco, the cultured butter divine.
Servers are in aprons and sneakers, and service is relaxed but polished. Staff are attentive without being intrusive. Wine refills offered without feeling swooped upon. Water glasses refilled from carafe left on the table just in case. Team service means that if someone other than your server takes care of the next table, they don’t hesitate to also take care of you, or ask how everything is. The floor managers even clear dirty tables. Tables cleared of crumbs and wiped between courses.
Desserts inventive, and rich. Large enough to share.
Lavatory very modern, and almost clean (spots on floor in front of the urinals could be attended to) and well stocked with W paper hand towels and tissues. Hand soap is commercial pink stuff. Dyson hand dryer.
C. L.
The staff assigned to us was Stefan. He was very friendly and all smiles despite having to wait about 10 tables. Food was better than I expected as it is after all a hotel restaurant.
Recommended: mussels
B. m.
Gourmet tasty food with a view!
Can’t ask for more!
Waited a bit but that’s okay it was definitely worth it!
M. C.
Love the food and the vibe there with the magnificent view of the Brisbane river. Received a card from them on our anniversary, so lovely. We only ordered a seafood platter. So, I'm not gonna give any comments. The party music from downstair is a bit annoying, but it wasn't too loud though - acceptable. If you don't mind party music, it wouldn't be an issue at all.
N. B.
Staying in W hotel and come down for dinner. The food is delicious and high standard, nice price. However, we waited over 25 mins for our food during the restaurant off-peak time.
L. D.
Could not fault. Potentially has the best service in Brisbane. The 3 men who were serving us could not have done a better job. These boys need a bonus.
G. S.
We did the bottomless brunch and it was amazing. The food was fantastic and the cocktails included were great. Even better that there’s free use of the pool and parking.
J. T.
I took my partner here for the buffet breakfast on his birthday - definitely the best buffet breakfast either of us have ever had. The food was delicious, and the selection amazing. We had a table by the window, so the view was lovely. The service was very friendly and professional. You get one barista made drink with the buffet, which was a nice touch. Will definitely be coming back for this.

Was so impressed with everything at Three Blue Ducks(TBD). I had a mug of long black and breakfast dish, can't remember the name of mine. from menu it was smelled of fusion breakfast then the assumption was apparently with my dish. I loved that honestly.
I had no any idea of here before just invited by friend i would say food and interior decorations are related. Can't not skip this review point, when i spend time with somethings then all details of producing build the products up to high value of costumers're experience.
Love to imagine the feeling of coffee testing. I got something cute as resburry and calm as cream. I knew it was quite abstract describing. Pls tell me your abstracts you got.
Enjoy!!!!!

An upbeat venue; a cacophony of diners having a great night with friends. Three Blue Ducks has attentive staff, a very good wine selection - and the food..! It took all words out of my mouth! Phenomenally delicious! I had the mussels with coconut sambal & flat bread. I’d get it again without hesitation. All this, plus stunning sunset views of or river city. I highly recommend it as a place to go with friends for atmosphere & good food.

Lunch review Dec 18
Was here for a Christmas lunch. Drinks were great, love that they had local brewed beer! We were a group of 20 and had the two-course meals. Ordered raw fish, chicken liver parfait, haloumi for entre and "fish of the day", porchetta, tiger prawns, and pumpkin for mains.
Highlights:
Chicken liver parfait was really strong and really good if you love pate.
Best dish of the day was definitely the porchetta. I'd come back for this dish alone!
However, the fish was really dry. Understandably, there were 20 of us and around 12 of us ordered the fish, hence why? Would have preferred if the fish was a little more moist and not overcooked. The tiger prawns were tasty but of a small portion.
Overall a good lunch.
Breakfast review Sep 18
Really average for a W! Breakfast was good, not great - could be better. The breakfast menu was limited unless you go for the buffet. However the big let down was the service.
The whole experience was REALLY average, kinda like a hit and miss from the moment we arrived. There was no simple "Hi how are you?" instead we were greeted with a very stressed and "lost" staff trying to cross names off their list and it was chaotic from the start. We simply ordered avocado on sourdough toast and almond flat white x2 for the two of us. The same staff then came back after a minute or so and asked "was it latte or flat white?" >.<'
When we asked for the bill, another staff came to our table after a long wait and literally went "yep!' with an annoyed face and walked away. Not something I would expect from a 5 star hotel.
Will I go back back? Not really. It's nothing spectacular. We were quite disappointed.
S. M.
Great food in a beautiful setting
Came for walk in dinner (late) got seated with spectacular river views.
It’s a mandatory either 2 or 3 course meal (+ 1 side dish per person) with a great selection. Went with entirely vegetarian options and was rewarded with interesting and delicious meals.
Dessert was the weak point of the meal but was still good.
Nice service even at a late hour.
T. P.
We had a lovely dinner - Saturday night set menu. We ordered the bugs and octopus as starter, lamb and whole sole for mains with a couple of sides to share, all were fantastic. However dessert not so great. Waitress suggested the coconut sorbet as the better of the three but it wasn't fantastic.
Great, friendly and fast service. We would definitely return and recommend.
S. P.
Very sorry to say this was a disappointment in many ways.
First - the maitre d' couldn't have appeared more judgemental. We arrived in jeans and a t-shirt and got a good solid look up and down before being asked if we were staying at the hotel. Bad start.
Second - we ordered coffee and they came oddly luke warm. They came quickly so I'm not sure how they weren't nice and hot. They were served in small (like really small, and we weren't offered a large when ordering) single wall glass so quickly went from luke warm to cold. Shame.
Third - We were hoping to see a similar menu to The Farm at Byron. To be fair we didn't check before we went but still, two mains on the menu? Both omelettes? Followed by some hot and cold bowl options? Another disappointment. And the bowl my wife ordered was really just a plate with some wet sweetcorn in it. $18 of wet sweetcorn. It tasted quite nice but it wasn't very appealing and again due to how flat the bowl was went cold quick. My bacon omlette was also not very hot, tasted good, but was nothing special. I can't fathom why they weren't hot because I could see that they were being prepared fresh. Strange. Also my omlette came on a fairly small plate. It was a nice artisan plate! But gave the feeling I was getting a small portion for the $22 I paid. Just stick it on a regular size plate. What's with the small plate??! I didn't even take photos of the food as it was just not special at all which in hindsight I should have done to make my point. There is so much competition for good breakfasts in Brissie I was surprised they didn't try harder with the menu.
Things got better as we left! The Irish lady who arranged our bill was friendly, didn't look us up and down and made good small talk. The guy in the W Store downstairs was very helpful when we enquired about the art for sale and was extremely enthusiastic and kind. He knew how to engage with people!
Seeing as this is a review of three blue ducks though I'll make my final comments based on that - we'll not be coming back sadly. We will go back to the Byron Store as that's a better experience all round. It has not however done a great job (yet) with its iteration across the border. Make changes, teach your staff not to judge (well one of them anyway) and make your offerings more appealing.... and, hotter?! I'm really confused about how they got cold so quick!
F. Y.
Overall experience ok, not as good as we expected having been to the one in Bryon Bay. Potion sizes small. Pricy for what it is. Good view but service too slow. Had to wait a while for food to arrive. Friendly staff thou.
S. J.
The food was amazing! The view was great. Staff were so friendly. We had the 3 course meal and everything on it looked great. Great value. We had the mussels dish and the lemon sole dish and two sides. Definitely didn't need the side dishes.
My gin chocolate dessert was great but very, very rich and needed some cream or vanilla ice cream to balance it out more but still fantastic.
Definitely go back and will recommend to all my friends.
Well I did go back (6/03/21) 3 months later and had a totally different experience. It took 90 minutes to get our Entrees to arrive and we loved them. Mains came out not too long after and they were great too. Our mistake was ordering the dessert. We ordered 2 of the 3 on offer, chocolate mouse and the olive cake and they absolutely horrible and ruined our whole experience. My friend won't go back. I will give you another go.

Celebrated my birthday here. The food was excellent and the views were great. Staff were really knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. My sister had to keep a bday card over her wine though cause being outdoors a bunch of bugs drowned in her glass (the restaurant replaced her drink).
Not great for vegetarian options but it's called Three Blue Ducks... Can't really expect them to not be meat-focussed.
K. S.
Enjoyed dinner by sharing 3 sides and 2 mains between 6 of us. Flavours amazing, reasonably serving sizes and affordable as a share. Wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable.
E. C.
Beautiful ambience, gorgeous view , nice food but better cocktails. Came for a celebration with a large table unfortunately the end of the table experienced a foul smell of gas for the duration of our time which was horrible. When we asked the waitress about it she said sorry we do get lots of complaints about that. You shouldn't have to sit through that whilst your out to dinner , its a serious turn off and made the eating experience really unpleasant.
S.
Their dishes are very light. Great little place for brunch. their food is good.

My Husband and I had our Anniversary dinner here last night and had a wonderful experience. The service was a amazing from the time we arrived and food was delicious. We capped off the evening with the Chocolate marquise and WOW - would highly recommend this dish. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I had dinner over here last Friday. We had the 2 course meal and was blown away with the amount of food provided. The lamb was delicious and was accompanied by the rosemary potato and carrot sides. The coconut dessert was so light and refreshing - a must have! The waiter was friendly and ready to assist in any way possible. We will definitely be back!

Firstly, Jamie (tha manager) is an absolute legend and such a professional. Secondly, Three Blue Ducks have nailed the balance of 'healthy yet decadent' . And finally, the venue is incredible, one of the best views in Brisbane!
V. T.
The customer service here is really good. The staff is friendly and checked up on us a few times, making sure that everything was good.
The venue is quite nice with an open setting over looking the Riverside Express and Brisbane River. Could be noisy at times with the noise pollution coming from the cars.
For entrees, we had the octopus. For mains, we had the lamb shoulder and sole (fish, for those wondering). For dessert, we shared the rhubarb and apple crumble.
The food was good but was unfortunately not memorable or anything special. Nothing made me think "wow this was amazing".
Overall, the experience was positive but do not have the feeling of wanting to come back again any time soon to try the other dishes.
C. S.
The staff is so friendly. The view is amazing, especially at night and the food... tasty, colourful and fresh to the palate.

The view was terrific. It is so great to have a new place on the river. Service was really pleasant when a waiter was around but unfortunately they were missing in action for too much of the night. Our meals were mixed. Wonderful prawns and mussels, tough calamari and pork, cauliflower salad needed something more. Overall I felt the quality of the food was missing the finesse the prices would normally demand but I guess we were paying for the sensational venue and view.
S. S.
A mixed review - sitting in this restaurant felt like a shopping centre food hall, it's big with scant soft furnishings, there is no atmosphere although there is a good view of the river and Southbank. We were a party of 6, the boys had gnocchi and lamb dishes which they enjoyed, however the ladies had fish and chicken dishes, the whole fish covered the plate there was no room for sides, it was tender but was swimming in a greasy mixture and the chicken dish was dry. On the up side the spiced chocolate mousse was to die for.
N. D.
Honestly for the price for the set menu, very disappointing. We haven't been here for approximately 12 months and were buzzing to come back, however feel like it was a let down. Service; did not feel responsive or prompt, had to keep looking for someone to assist. Courses were hit and miss, some really nice, some really dry and bland, crying for some sort of seasoning or something. Really hope they can pick it back up as its a beautiful venue and has been a great meal previously.

Arrived in the aesthetically pleasing grounds of the W Hotel and felt we were in for a special night at Three Blue Ducks. After an awkward wait to be seated without acknowledgement, we eventually caught the attention of the staff and were shown to our table. The views were excellent over to QPAC and South Bank and the ambience was spot on. Expecting a set menu as clearly stated during booking (whereas a credit card was required to reserve seating), the menu was in fact à la carte. Perused the menu and selected a few dishes to sample, settling on a steak (for no less than $69) as one of the mains. Expecting something special, I was immediately disappointed in a steak which whilst cooked well, was flavourless and served with a couple of potatoes. Not even the well sautéed mushrooms could mask the bland taste. Disappointing considering last weeks casual dinner at the Morrison Hotel was 10x better. Took a glance at the drinks menu and found the Suntory ‘Kakubin’ whiskey was on offer for a fraction less than the ‘Hakushu’, which is like comparing cask wine to Bollinger. Unfortunately we skipped dessert and headed elsewhere given our lowered expectations. I will add that our staff member was polite and friendly, but this wasn’t enough to win us over this time. Perhaps consider one of the other restaurants that Brisbane has to offer.
S. L.
Firstly we were stunned with the awesome view of the river! Service was great, food was delicious and we had some lovely drinks too. Lavender cocktail is delicious! We had some olives to start- it was probably more olives than two people needed... but delicious. For mains we had cauliflower salad and fish with creamed corn. Both were fab. For desserts we had the coconut custard and the salt meringue dish- again, both were fab. Overall a great evening!

Wonderful service by a pristine river view. Food is solid but lacks spark.
V. L.
We had buffet breakfast while we stayed overnight at the W hotel. Amazing view overlooking Brisbane river and South Brisbane.
Basically every foot item is above average quality. The restaurant manager was very kind and gentle to explain what all the dips and sauces for, and asked how’s the food and with my comment on the salmon *the part that I took was quite salty, it’s prob because I took the tail ends*, he took it seriously and brought it to the chef which I was amazed of how they worked so hard on getting each customer a wonderful dining experience, and also how they do it so professionally.
Keep it up, W hotel. It’s def an unforgettable experience! Def recommend to friends and families.

Service, 5 stars
Location, 5 stars
Food, 3 stars
Would we return? Most likely not, simply because the price to quality food ratio was off.
Our choices:
Quael - Poor, meat no flavour, ineditble salad
Octopus - OK, not spectacular in taste, average presentation
Steak - Fantastic steak, no sides other then potato why not a bit of green and or sauce?
Mussels - OK, not spectacular in taste, presentstion was good. The bread that came with it was delicious.
A. P.
Well we had the second seating at the NYE event it was amazing from the booking to desert!! The service was performed be true professionals that took there roles seriously!! One from Bhutan 🇧🇹 told us a C little history and the food was amazing I guess that’s to be expected... went for breakfast the next morning once again the service was great..

Having the last meal of 2020 at your restaurant was the perfect choice. The food was delicious, fresh and satisfying. I will defiantly eat there again. The staff were amazing from the moment we checked in, although the restaurant w as full the staff still managed to provide a great service. Happy new year and keep up the great work.

View & location fabulous. Entrees & dessert superb, but main meals really disappointing. One piece of swordfish was cooked beautifully but my next piece was virtually raw. I'm happy to eat medium/rare fish but I couldn't even cut through it, it was so raw. Friend's Steak was cold & sent back. Second attempt still not great unfortunately. Full of sinew & not enjoyed. Pork was tough & only half crackling was crunchy. I hope they manage to sort it out as it's a wonderful location to dine.
M. C.
Really impressed with this place. Excellent food with generous portions. Great view and attentive staff. The Kangaroo was amazing.
J. M.
Very good service and the meals were very nice. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
J. D.
Have just left the restaurant. The food was good but who puts 3 slices of sourdough on a table of 4 people? The chicken liver pate was tasty but again, no bread on which to spread it. The crisp chicken skin was far too sparse for the job. The staff pleasant but clumsy. Excellent wine list. The meal price differentials were extreme. 60 for the steak and 33 for the prawns! Good potential but still just confused. And if you park in the building, be prepared for inoperable lifts.
M. H.
Thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience, a big shout out to our waiter Johann, who looked after us beautifully, very attentive and good personality. Couldn't fault anything except the air-conditioning is dripping a little bit water on 1 of our guests but overall good food topped with a great service. Very pleasant and will definitely be back when we are in town.
B. W.
Hip as the W is, the menu here is surprisingly traditional in execution and more than affordable enough for a nicer restaurant.
Staff are very young and a little overbearing, and the kitchen, while great most of the time, was oddly very, very slow for the last third of the meal (as the restaurant should have been emptying out for the night?).
The food has potential but is so staid in actual cooking style (presentation and items of choice are all very good/conventional) that it feels like a serious missed opportunity. No flair at all to make it unique or even particularly memorable. That said-- I stuck to the seafood on the staff's advice, and that may have been a mistake? The porchetta in particular sounded amazing, sadly I chose not to experience it...

One the best restaurants I have been to.
Food 10/10
View 10/10
Staff 10/10
Management 10/10
If you’d like to impress friends or family of yours, I personally recommend you to give them a shot. Most importantly ask for the staff supervisor “Ying” and she’ll make sure you have the best experience there.
Well done 👏🏽

Came in with a party of 16, accommodated us brilliantly.
They were able to change mocktails to actual cocktails as the cocktails didn't sound entirely appetizing so that's a plus.
I paid $89 for a four course meal and two drinks which is great for price, I couldn't eat all of my food and was happy with three dishes. The sides were the best part of them.
Now I did have to follow up on a dish I never actually received, which eventually I did and had to wait half an hour for a drink.
I understand that it was completely full and you can be forgetful and have wait times, they still did a great enough job.
We were told prior that we could all pay separately to come to the end of the meal and then be told that we could only pay on one bill. Eventually they went back to the original plan we were told, had we known prior we would have all brought cash. Still I would recommend this place. Great atmosphere, beautiful views and the bathroom had sick lighting! 😂
P. L.
Great Sunday roast although the brisket was a bit dry.
The veggies and Dallas were fantastic.
The sourdough and home butter, divine!! And the grilled octopus very well done.
The deserts were good .
Good service and atmosphere.
Pleasant place with a good view.
L. M.
We came when it was just opened and looked at the place. The restaurant space is gorgeous- lots of styling and views to die for. Loved the cooking layout- sections each doing their specialty. The food, which we shared was exceptional. Tender steaks, sweet fish, fresh oysters, interesting vegetables. Great wine list also.
Only complaint (seriously?) was over zealous staff trying to fill our wine glasses. This was just their enthusiasm and attention to the dropping levels. However, these days moderation is practised and knowing how much you’ve drink is important. Maybe ask the question? A number of us said we’d look after ourselves.
That said loved the whole place. Will become a regular as it is a very worthy place to visit.
K. O.
Staff were absolutely fantastic and food was amazing. Couldn’t be happier with my experience there.
M. A.
Best buffet breakfast, fantastic coffee, pricey
S. R.
we were disappointed that the wait staff were not more professional. Our plates from the entree had not been cleared and new cutlery and plates set when our main course arrived. Mind you there was no time for our entree to settle. We had only just finished when the main course arrived. The waitress was not attentive to topping up our wine glasses. For the amount of money we spent of the night (over $300 for 2) we were very disappointed with the service. I was disappointed in the dress of some diners who were allowed entry wearing T shirts, shorts and joggers. The food and the location were superb.
K. Y.
Nice buffet choice, not cheap but good atmosphere!
D. F.
Overall an average dining experience. The good - potato side was lovely as was the pumpkin. The mussel main got raves. The fish of the day was voted 'okay'. The staff are friendly and very helpful (if inexperienced). The zucchini and the asparagus starters were average and small in size. I had the scotch fillet main (ordered medium) which came rare (very rare). The steak was thin and the fat raw so I was only able to eat barely half of it. They seemed to have added the chimichurri with an eyedropper there was so little of it. The service though friendly was very very slow. Overall I wouldn't refuse to go back but also won't go out of my way to do so.
M. A.
Sophisticated flavours and cocktails, and W hotel is very glam. Prices to match $180 for lunch for two with drinks.

This is a must do in Brisbane.
We visited Hotel W and upon entry and throughout the venue, we were most impressed by the decor and furnishings... very tasteful, warm and unique.
But we were overwhelmed by the views of the Cultural Precinct, Southbank and the Brisbane River from the 3 Blue Ducks restaurant on the 3 floor.
We were greeted by Jamie, the Assistant Manager who was friendly, helpful and ensured that our time there was a happy and memorable one. ... an asset to the restaurant.
The breakfast buffet was such an amazing dining experience... presentation, quality, selection and range of food were of first class.
My friends and I would certainly recommend the 3 Blue Ducks. ... we loved it.
Congratulations and well done Chefs and kitchen staff.
The table staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring that tables were cleared promptly and quietly.
Overall an A+ experience.

Review long overdue, but couldn’t go unsaid.
Everything about Three Blue Ducks is on point. From the location and the view, the quirky interior, the hearty wholesome food with true flavours, to the staff with very good knowledge of their wines!
To start with, we had the Tandoori Quail, which was just right. If I’m not mistaken, it had a light char on it, which added that extra flavour. The butter we had with the bread was heavenly! Was it goats milk?
For the mains, the Moreton Bay Bug is a must! That was heaven on a plate. Earthy but beautiful flavours, cooked to perfection. I personally am not the biggest fan of veggies, but the veggies that came with the bug were so full of flavour. The chicken was good too, but the crayfish just stole the show.
Dessert too was on point and summed up a beautiful meal!
The portions are large and definitely worth the money.
Hoping to see new additions to the menu, to try out! Hopefully maybe Brisbane’s version of a Sunday Roast?
T. G.
One of the best dining places in Brisbane. Fresh food, nicely presented, good atmosphere, friendly servers, good view. Love the cocktails too! Will definitely be making a trip to Byron Bay to try out their other restaurant.
Edit June 21... wow what happened 3BDs?!! Drab and dreary, not even a candle on the table to read the menu by. Food was good but zero atmosphere, what happened to the vibe? :(
J. L.
Appropriate service
Good food
Lunch special is hot $25 pp
J.
Amazing experience. Just do it! It's not cheap but excellent for a special occasion. The food is superb and the view is well worth it too.
We shared the lamb shoulder, we needed a 3rd person or doggybag, it was so big. Don't go there and not have the roasted potatoes were the best of the best, so was the halloumi cheese. It was all excellent but
not real keen on the cocktails, a bit boring and not very boozy for $20
K. d. L.
Food is top quality, lamb shoulder is succulent and delicious, pork belly suggested by waiter equally as mouth watering. Great atmosphere and tasteful fit out.
Have dined here several times and every sitting has been consistently impressive.
M. K.
Awesome food. Great place. Popped into TBD for dinner on the recommendation of others. Loved it so much I went back the next night as well. The first night was not a fluke and both were outstanding. A salad described as tomato & stracciatella salad with peaches was quite simply excellent. The porchetta with mint parsley & apple salad for main was beautiful but also gigantic and as a result dessert had to wait another day. On night 2 the oysters were superb and opened only after I asked for them. A cold dish of Morten Bay bugs quite lovely but by a large margin the highlight of the evening was dessert. I had requested a surprise - having been unable to choose - and the dish provided was sublime. Caramelized chocolate mousse with parsnip cream, smoked pecan crunch and toffee shards. Described as an Andy Hale invention it was stunning and worth the price of admission alone. Service was very friendly and attentive. The only very minor fault I had was noise levels thanks largely to the absence of any soft furnishings. I'm being picky. As of Oct 2019 this place is humming.
m. F.
My experience at Three Ducks was not quite as good as my expectations! Service was friendly but slow. Noise was the main complaint, exacerbated by background music. The meal was quite delicious, which I suppose is the primary reason we were there. If it wasn't for the noise I would give score of 4/5. Hotel decor spectacular.
I have just read other diners' reviews and the common theme is slow, badly trained staff and NOISE! W Hotel is a prestige establishment and restaurant does not reflect this. Sorry to be negative, but a bit of staff training would make a difference. Dining is not all about the food. ( I am a chef of years experience).
J. M.
I went there with my wife and daughter for my birthday.
I loved the fact they had a kids menu!
The food was nice. Better than OK.. But not wow. It was very tasty, but maybe too many flavours in our mains dish.
Very happy with the ambience and service.
J. F.
The food was amazing! Really fresh flavours and generous serving sizes. I recommend the sweet potato hummus to start, the ribeye and the moreton bay bug from the grill. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was the service was quite slow once the restaurant was busy, making it difficult to get a drink. The menus are a little hard to read with the dim lights. But overall, it was a great night, great venue and beautiful food. I highly recommend this restaurant.
D. B.
Beautiful view, great service and a delicious meal. They just switched to the new menu tonight and everything we tried was really good - I highly recommend the scallops!
G. M.
Great customer service, great food . Highly recommend. Nice view towards Southbank.
R. L. V.
Mum and I visited Three Blue Ducks for lunch and absolutely loved everything! The steamed mussels (main) were incredible, as was the beetroot+macadamia cheese entree and the coconut custard desert! Lots of gf/df options. Best hot chocolate ever and great drinks during lunch. We would love to go again!
M.
Fantastic flavours in all the dishes we had. However little things, such as overcooking the scallops, hold this place back from top marks.
A. R.
The Three Blue Ducks is located in the trendy new W Hotel adjacent to the Brisbane River. Swish elevators from the hotels lobby whisk you up to the third floor. We had high expectations! However we were a little disappointed as the lift opens into a big space that feels a little like a cross between an upmarket hotel lobby and a posh breakfast buffet dining hall rather than a trendy restaurant. . To be fair it was Thursday lunch and there was lots of empty space but the quality of the decor is very high, although it does have the feel of a dual use space. The other thing you cant help fail to notice is the road noise, wow it’s loud with eight lanes of traffic directly outside and only being three floors up the road noise is bad and the views from this heigh are just ok. At this point I have to say we very nearly turned around to look for somewhere else to eat.
The staff were attentive and quickly showed us to a table. We had some very nice Australian sparkles and accustomed ourself to the noise. Some nibbles or bread would have been welcomed at this point but none were forthcoming.
Then I am pleased to say things started to get a whole lot better as we relaxed with the menu, the choice was interesting and the prices seemed fair plus the waiter knew his stuff and the wines we chose were delicious.
We ordered Raw Fish Paw Paw & Spiced Lamb with flat bread to start. Both were delicious and beautifully presented . Then we both went for the Harissa Pumpkin & Cashew Cream main course. The Wood fired oven gave the Pumpkin an amazing charred flavour and it was one of the nicest vegetarian dishes we have ever eaten.
Upon leaving the waiter spoke highly about the Three Blue Ducks in Byron Bay, so much so it is a trip we now plan to make. We also took a look at the amazing kitchen where the head chief Jensen greeted us and explained how the wood fired ovens help give the food an amazing flavour.
It’s clear this restaurant really takes seriously how well it cooks & presents the food and that it uses very high quality ingredients in all it’s dishes. The service is very good and prices are fair.

Great view. Nice style but doesn’t quite feel like a premier / special place.
It’s got all the features and should just be a simple 5 stars. But just didn’t get that. We had brunch and it just felt a bit too much like a hotel Buffett, there are other smaller cafes / brunch spots with a better vibe, food and service.
It’s a shame.

A few fantastic things about this place:
Khaled our server, the food and the view. The service we received was the best I have ever experienced. He was spectacular, and when we left we were all talking about how wonderful he was. And the food was absolutely divine. Huge, delicious meals that we didn't have a single complaint about (starters, mains and dessert). It was all fantastic and we will definitely be back. Thank you to Khaled for an unbelievably wonderful night and thanks to the chefs for the mouth-watering food!
M. S.
I had my birthday lunch with 20 friends at the restaurant yesterday. The food and service were amazing, cocktails delicious but the best was assistant manager Jamie. He went above and beyond for us to make our event run smoothly. After lunch we went to the Wet Bar upstairs. This is the new place to be! Thanks W Hotel for a great afternoon and evening. We'll be back again.
S. B.
Heard all the reviews of how great the food was and we were not disappointed. Wait staff looked after us extremely well. Meals were spaced out perfectly. Cost was relative to the quality of food served and I would definitely go back again. Great dining experience.
C. P.
Great location and friendly staff but the breakfast food is trying to be too trendy.
C.
Three stars at best!
The cocktails were very watery, and my re-usable metal straw had food in it. The food was average for casual dining, but everything was severely overcooked. Nothing stood out and the atmosphere was generic, so I would recommend passing on this one.
S. P.
Amazing food, spectacular view and the best service I have come across for many years. We are already planning our next visit
A. B.
I was disappointed in the cafe-style service in this restaurant, as I was not paying cafe prices. I was also disappointed that the restaurant clearly doesn't have a sommelier. The lamb-to-share dish also wasn't particularly well seasoned. On the plus side, the views are spectacular and the serving sizes we're good; the lamb really would suit three people!
E. P.
Oh wow! Everything we tried was amazing, could go back for helping after helping of the baked haloumi. It's quite a large restaurant but still felt quite close to the neighbouring tables (actually was bumped by a waiter when he was serving another table) but all that aside, when the food and cocktails are so delicious it doesn't matter. Can recommend the Swooping Magpie cocktail.
K. M.
Lovely meal in a great location. Nice menu (we had set starter and main) with a good selection of dishes. Wine list ok but could be a better selection.
S. D.
I’ve been to Three Blue Ducks a few times and have never been disappointed. The view is great, the service is amazing and the food is awesome. There aren’t a huge amount of options for vegetarians on the main menu but you can definitely fill up on starters and small plates and they are worth it! The drinks menu is delicious and the vibe is great. Having been to all the restaurants in The W, Three Blue Ducks far outweighs the others. It’s a solid performer 👌
A. N.
Good food great views! Had the lamb shoulder, recommend it!
However, service was a bit strange, felt awckward and they were trying too hard. this made the conversation with them feel uncomfortable.
Also, if you order the biodynamic wine, let me know how you go. One word: funky.
m. p.
As a vegetarian, i can't count the number of times I have been to a fine dining restaurant and left disappointed by bland food. But not at the Three Blue Ducks! The pumpkin humus with flat bread was mouth watering and the smoked cauliflower was delicious. That was the most satisfying, perfectly seasoned, balanced flavoured meal that I have ever had. My partner raved about the tomatoe entre and the mussels main. The service was also to be commended, we were looked after very well. Thank you Three Blue Ducks!
J. U.
Lovely food but could do with a few more 'plain' options. Eggplant over represented on the menu 😝 had booked a table close to the balcony area with a view but were seated at the back right beside the kitchen. Saturday lunch time was very noisy and so it was almost.possible to have conversation and it was only a small table for 3
S. U.
Beautiful views. The staff were very lovely, and the service was great. The food and drinks were delicious.
K. H.
Generous portions, great flavours, lovely view over Southbank and the river (pretty much every table gets the same view). Staff very attentive and great knowing the food is organic and locally sourced from either their Bryon Bay farm or other similarly-minded setups.
P. M.
Gave this wonderful restaurant 5 stars but forgot to leave a review.... Absolutely beautiful food and the best "hands off" Shiraz I have ever had. We had a 4 course share plate feast for 9 people and struggled to eat it all.... But we did 👍 The lamb shoulder was special! Thank you for putting on such a beautiful dinner to share with my family for my 60th 🙏👌👍
B. M.
Hands down one of the best meals we had in Noosa. Being so man options around, it's hard to tell what will deliver etc, but Sails delivered on every front.Amazing Rumba cocktail bar downstairs for a pre-drink. Super friendly service, fantastic menu, and every single item from the bread to the barramundi was superb. We loved it.
C. H.
Wow. Loved the food wonderful flavours. Char grilled Octopus was exceptional. Saff were great and we took on board their recommendation to add a side dish and we werent disappointed. Dessert was just the right size and delicious. Views from restsurant amazing.
R. D.
The venue was great with stunning views over the river. The service was spot on with just the right level of attentiveness (we did not feel rushed but also did not have to try and get anyones attention when we needed something).
Started with a rum sour and a mocktail which were delicious. We had the sweet potato hummus followed by the share lamb with roast potatoes, zucchini salad and broccolini all of which were perfectly prepared. We made sure to leave some room for dessert which was the chocolate mousse and creme brulee which were both five star. The flavour combinations for all the food were expertly crafted. We are already looking forward to going again.
J. L.
Three Blue Ducks kindly hosted our end of year Christmas celebrations. Both the before and after correspondence from the reservations coordinator was great. On the night the food was exceptional and service was fantastic.
Thanks Three Blue Ducks for a great night. Highly recommended !!!!!
V. S.
Disappointed especially after visiting The Farm on many occasions. Main course was luke warm on arrival and the fish was over cooked. Side course of potatoes burnt with strong charcoal taste. Great spot but food not up to it.
I also notice responses from restaurant only when you give them 5 stars!
S. G.
We had lunch at this new restaurant and haven't tried its original in Byron Bay which people rave about. The staff were very attentive and helpful although we were asked on arrival 'what can we do for you'. " A table for two" we replied which I thought might be obvious at lunchtime but that settled we were seated at a nice table with a lovely view of the river. We shared two mains, a chicken dish and chargrilled prawns. After all the hype I thought the chicken dish was well cooked reasonably tasty and a generous serve but nothing you can't do at home with half a chook. Why it came with nothing but a truly huge slab of sweet potato was a mystery to me but it was properly cooked and fresh. The prawn dish was three or four large banana prawns split in half and chargrilled a little bit too much on the dry side I thought but it was tasty but again nothing to write home to mother about. The beer and wine by the glass were excellent as was the ambience and kind of better than the food which was properly cooked but a bit unimaginative. We enjoyed it but mainly because we enjoyed our company, the conversation, beer and wine by the glass. The bill was $65 per head including the reasonably priced wine and a beer each but I think I'll do my own chook and chargrilled prawns at home next time and save up for the dinner menu which might be better than the dishes we had for lunch. If you go for lunch go for the view and choose something different from what we had. People say the Moreton Bay Bugs are good.
C. D. M.
Great restaurant at the W Brisbane. Large open room with large open balcony with views to the river.
The food is superb , sourdough bread, the grilled prawns so fresh I imagined I was by the beach, zucchini salad, a porchetta bursting with flavour...
Highly recommended!
J. I.
The food was outstanding. Every morsel was savoured and delicious.
Views are top class and a different perspective looking over State Library and GOMA.
Wet Deck was beautiful for after dinner cocktails too.
K. R.
Nice views and food was good but it took quite a while to get our meals. I was a little disappointed that the menu had such tiny print and we had to use our phone lights to read it as the lighting was so dim.
P. R.
Come here for good food but go elsewhere for good service.....
After our third visit we probably won't return again; the food is good as is the view but if you prefer attentive service you might want to look elsewhere as our experience on all 3 occasions is that you'll often be searching for a waiter and will probably be waiting over an hour for your main course.
M. D.
Ohh the menu is superb..Plating of entrees (Grilled Octopus and others) you will love to look at them like an art work.. Taste are divine. More ton bay bug with silver beet lightly seasoned as main was my choice..Love to eat here.. Stuff is friendly and attentive..Well done guys..
A. A.
Love love love the venue ! Amazing views of the water and city of Brisbane ! It’s inside the W hotel which is one of my favourite hotels . The food was superb ! Amazing steak , the mussels were just amazing the serving size is really big . Definately value for money . The raw fish entree is amazing . The octopus for me was too burnt I could only taste bitterness but presentation was lovely

Had an amazing night celebrating our anniversary. Our waiter Peter (Pierre) was so wonderful and professional, the food was perfect and the setting topped it off. Thanks for helping us create marvellous memories.
R. H.
The service was VERY slow.... we had to ask twice for water and our drinks. Mains took about 40 minutes to arrive and it was a slow Monday night. Our waiter was condescending, non-attentive and snobbish.
Compliments to the kitchen though for the brilliant menu, delicious fresh food and very generous portions.
C. R.
Great view overseeing the Brisbane river, convenient parking right underneath. Menu regularly refreshed, always interesting and enjoyable.
P. W.
The service and view of the Brisbane river makes this a solid 4. Food was good and I'll give it a 3.5. The mussels a bit small otherwise it be a 4. A nice place for dinner for a good night out.
V. W.
Great breakfast and really tasty, high quality ingredients

First time there
Fantastic location and friendly staff
Entree of chicken liver parfait with Davidson plum jam, yummmmmny
Main was a disappointment, $33 for a chicken leg, an underdone Hasselbeck potato with corn puree which was overpowered by mustard dressing
Back on track with the dessert, a white chocolate mousse with a burnt marmalade sauce, again, Yummy
For the 4 of us with a couple of drinks, it came out at around $80 a head
Will we back, juries still out
M. U.
We had a great lunch today. Cooper, the waiter, with earnings, was very attentive and gave excellent service. He also recommended a great dessert to have.
A fantastic lunch with very attentive service.
C. P.
After my first visit which I had a bad experience I received a call from the restaurant to follow up with the issues I had. The issue was resolved and I just would like to thank them for their great customer service. Well done, keep up the good work.
J. N.
Other businesses should take lessons on customer service from these guys. There was a fairly important misunderstanding on the part of my wife and I, as we had unknowingly booked our table for a set 5 course special on the night of Riverfire.
The manager was able to most generously arrange a solution, and make it an extremely enjoyable night for us. We look forward to coming back and experiencing the a la carte menu soon.
A. M.
We had the chilli chicken, swordfish and coconut custard. All three were great. The fresh ginger beer was also good. Ambience and views of Southbank are nice.
M. H.
Thank you Chris for finding a table for us at a moment’s notice and checking on us throughout the meal. Delicious ... Earl Grey cocktail, Moreton Bay Bugs with XO, green salad with apple and grapes, and choc dessert with pickled blueberries that smacked you around ... yum yum yum. Fantastic service too. Thanks Joe.
S. M.
What an excellent place. Brilliant, attentive, courteous staff. Fabulous atmosphere. If you love the Brisbane buzz, make sure you take a table by the rail with open air view of the bustling streets and the Bris river.
Q. G.
Enjoyed our dining experience at TBD, Brisbane. The hotel and restaurant were tastefully decorated and the view of the Brisbane river and Southbank at night adds a bit more drama.
The staff were very attentive and our server had great knowledge regarding food and wine selection and made great suggestions throughout the night.
We ordered the sweet potato hummus dip with their delicious, house made pita bread, the grilled Moreton bay bugs (my favourite), lamb shoulder that was falling of the bone as soon as you touch it with your fork which came with a really fresh peas, zucchini and squash salad. We also ordered the roasted garlic and rosemary potatoes and the wood roasted broccollini and almond paste. This all went down well with a bottle of Wanaka Road Pinot Gris. We had creme brulee and soft meringue for dessert.
Definitely a dining destination in Brisbane. Will recommend to friends and will come back for lunch and more dinners. 😊
D. R.
It was superb!! A great menu with ample servings, also a veried wine list coupled with an amazing full vista view from any seating. excellent staff.
A TRULY UNIQUE EVENING

I loved every bit of the experience. The view is spectacular. The staff went above and beyond and the food was sensational. The best dining experience i have had in a very long time. Without a doubt the best restaurant in brisbane.
B.
Had a la carte breakfast just now and whilst food was really good and pricing very reasonable, service was poor. We had to flag somebody down to get our order after being seated for approximately 15 minutes without being attended to. Upon finishing our meal, it took about 20 mins for somebody to clear our plates. Need to up their game.
D. S.
Great dinner experience with friends and family. Great views; see this awesome photo I took for example! Ordered shared plates between us all; shared a bottle of wine or two; great night!
H. W.
Absolutely amazing place. Only had creme brulee and coffee but it was delicious. Highly recommended
Update: I went back to this restuarant as a single diner for lunch and was a bit disappointed they said they were fully booked, even though there were at least 6 vacant tables. I therefore drop my rating.
S. G.
Not sold on 3 Blue Ducks sorry to say. Food was ok nothing special. Service was sub standard but they are reasonably new so you might be able to forgive that. 1 1/2 to be feed and I had to say something for them to eventually take our order
There is a lot of competition at the moment so need to get the little things right.
Our average spend at 3 Blue Ducks was $200 per person which is up there not to be wowed.
I won’t be back in a hurry.
J. R.
It is so rare to find something that lives up to high expectations but this place is every bit as amazing as people say. A beautiful gem of the restaurant with amazing food. The staff are warm and genuine too.
K. S.
The restaurant has a good view.
Food was ok, but probably not worth the price. Service we received was quite poor. Waitress didn't know the beer in wanted and I also got charged for a drink I ordered but never received.
E. C. W.
I went to the three blue ducks and had an amazing experience. The food was pretty good and the service was high standard :) Cleber was very friendly and professional during my visit. Look forward to be served by him again.
B. O.
Unfortunately the service was not great. They messed up our order & weren't apologetic about it at all. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast. For the price, I expected full, fresh flavours but it was average. Great view though
F. G.
Beautiful food.
Great lamb shoulder that just fell apart upon picking up.
Juicy and flavoursome.
Attentive staff and good atmosphere.
J. K.
Really good view, great food and good service. The location within a hotel
Originally turned me off of going but it is absolutely worth it. A great date location with a gorgeous night view. The food was really lovely.
B. V.
Went here for a friend's birthday and I'll definitely be back the views are incredible and the waiters are fantastic the food tastes very homemade and very well done I even gave a tip.
C. A.
Three Blue Ducks we love you, why were you in such a bad mood when I took my friend for pre-dinner drinks on Saturday for her 30th birthday? You certainly didn't bring the party vibes we were looking for to start out the night! One of your team in particular - let's not embarrass him by listing his name here, definitely wasn't 'on brand' on Saturday night. A succession of rude behaviours made us feel like we shouldn't have been at your restaurant for a drink before dinner elsewhere - we weren't eating and that apparently wasn't ok - despite me specifically mentioning it in my reservation notes and getting that impression from your website that a drink at the restaurant bar is a nice thing to do.... obviously not. We had 3 people question us about it between the 'welcome' and our waiter hurriedly taking our plates and cutlery away when he realised we weren't eating, but no one suggested us to sit at the bar, they just led us to the lions den for an uncomfortable and hurried round of drinks.... When I asked if they had a jug of Pimms I was told "we aren't a cocktail bar", then when I asked for a Pimms he curtly said "with what? lemonade, soda water?" - when I said lemonade he then retorted "we only have home made lemonade here, everything is home made' - the vibes were getting worse and worse...when I asked about champagne he said "which one, we have two, do you want the expensive or the cheap?" - please choose some better language so you don't make your customer admit they are cheap, some level of finesse at the W Hotel would be nice. Basically there was no hope for Three Blue Ducks with our waiter serving us on Saturday night. I won't waste more time listing the other rude encounters he lavished upon us that night...Props to the manager Michael (??) that gave us his card and received our complaint in person after the staffer at the desk had half a brain to not let us leave unhappy - props to her also. Michael said the staffer that served us was one of their best - well not consistently it seems.... Thanks to Spice Den on Ann St that was fabulous value, absolutely delicious and had amazing service making up for a lack-lustre start to the night.
C. W.
Slightly above average across the board. Food, wine, service, prices. Menu is boring. The dining room doesn’t quite work either. Would not be surprised if they go another direction. I mean it’s the W, you’d assume better than this.
D. A.
Gave it 4 🌟 because staff was good after we git there attention. The fist sever did not return with drinks. Had the rib eye on the bone. Well not on the bone and cold. Will not be returning and suggest to try some where else.
N. F.
Beautiful day, beautiful restaurant, beautiful meal and service simply said. Top notch
J.
Fantastic tasty food and great service by Scott. Will definately be back, great job guys 😍
s. b.
Everything was exceptionally from the food to the staff, especially our waiter, sorry dont recall his name. But his recommendation for dessert, the meringue was the best dessert, I've ever eaten.
C. T.
Came here on a birthday voucher, it's very casual for fine dining prices. Food is ok, but nothing super special. Overall an ok experience. 3.5 stars
C. T.
Very expensive and underwhelming food. $55 for a steak, which was equivalent to a weekend bbq. Nothing else on the plate. Pleasant service and nice views. We won't be back .
C. F.
We went to the restaurant at night and in the morning for breakfast. Restaurant is very popular and it is easy to understand why. Great location and view, very good food and great staff. Breakfast was just superb.
M. S.
Visited for a office lunch, tried the beef and it was alright, nothing fancy.
K. B.
Best meal in ages - fresh, high quality produce prepared beautifully, with a great combination of flavours and textures; even the sides were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!
D. B.
Food was great,, expensive, great views location. Expecting small serves for a top notch restaurant. Generous servings if getting sides as well. Suitable for a date night or anniversary etc
r. K.
Fantastic food, impeccable service - the staff and manager were very nice and genuine - not the usual 5* hotel experience, would highly recommend this restaurant as a stand-alone - delicious food and beautiful views.
D. A.
The lamb shoulder was to die for! So were the roasted potatoes and pumpkin. Great location and view, highly recommended! Staff was super friendly as well.
T. H.
Bug and the Lamb are a must! Outstanding service from Daniel!
D. M. H.
Sophisticated and unpretentious... that goes for the food and the staff.
Great views of the cultural centre with a relaxed, boushy (not in abad way) setting
A. H.
The best spit roast lamb and peri peri chicken we have ever had. The chocolate mousse is awesome too and the service is amazing!
န. သ.
Service is exceptional. Food didn't Wow us. And has a very nice cinematic view to South bank.
T. T.
Nice venue with tasteful interior. Service was great and very helpful staff. Overall food was ok, but to be honest expected more. Plus for great cocktails.
S. M.
Amazing views, very nice service but the food is just average for its price
J. M.
Three blue ducks was the best I have ever tried
Excellent table services staff was friendly and helpful and the manager couldn’t do enough to help me out the food came straight away from the kitchen hot and delicious and the drinks was icy cold and I have no fault at this place I be back
M. R.
Great service. Great meal. Great view. Able to have a quiet discussion with all at the table
K. O.
Went here for a birthday dinner and it was sensational. The food was fantastic and the service was great.
A. B.
Schmick, slick and sexy. Great food, great service and funky new vibes. Not especially great value for money, but work paid :) Would still visit again on my own dime though.
E. R.
We only come for breakfast, but we recommend this time to visit this place! Not too busy and you can enjoy the view after hard jogging in the CBD.
M. H.
Brilliant! The food was expensive, but well worth it. Make sure you try the lamb. Great service and great coffee, well done Three Blue Ducks.
R. C.
The perfect restaurant to have a really great meal very friendly staff and super clean.
J. H.
Food is fabulous and I love the view. Great service too. I recommend the lamb! A good place for a special occasion dinner.
K. J.
Restaurant with good food, really good flavours and we'll seasoned. View of southbank, although because of the location, the restaurant tents to be noisy when sit near the open windows
J. B.
Everything considered breakfast coffee is fairly good quality, but the place gets a little busy. Mostly greeted with freindly smiles and the view was amazing.
M. C.
Although the dinner was nice, I got food poisoning from the pork cutlet - really suffering today!
J. H.
Very nice restaurant, great service and views.
T. N.
Exquisite food and atmosphere, the views of the city are spectacular, we spent our anniversary there and the staff were great overall it was a fantastic eve.
M. C.
Beautifully crafted dishes. The emphasis is on flavours and textures that work together. Really generous sized servings also.
H. E.
