The upstairs area was not crowded on the day that I had lunch with my friend, which gave us the privacy we wanted. We ordered the lunch special (meal + drink), which we could not order on our phone so a server had to take our order on a tablet. This was a good thing as I much prefer ordering from a person. The server was very helpful and patient. The food serving was very generous but tasted average. Lovely atmosphere.

One of my favorite restaurants. There is a $15 lunch deal, which is great. Note, you might need to pay by card as this place orders via contactless QR code menu. The food is pretty nice for its price in the city. We've been here several times. It's our must-go restaurant when we visit the mall.

Excellent service and lovely atmosphere. The food was delicious and drinks were amazing. We’ve ordered the carbonara pasta, deep dish bolognese pizza, kids margherita pizza and cocktails. The pasta was served by Chef Mary, and it is the best in Brisbane! My hard to impress fuzzy eater daughter was giggling over their reindeer shaped pizza and wanted to go back again. I also won’t forget the lychee martini, it is perfect! Definitely recommend this place, a hidden gem in Brisbane CBD!

Went at a fairly busy lunchtime. The website menu wasn't the same as the ordering app menu. The staff tried to help but it wasn't easy to get plain spaghetti to go with the meatball order via the app. I got my dessert first before any food or drinks. Our food plates arrived sporadically, not in any particular order. All that aside the food was very good, the pizza wasn't heavy. I enjoyed the house beer. The other drinks were good. Coffee was fantastic.

I have been getting the Pollo e spinaci with triple chicken and a extra pasta portion since I moved to Brisbane 5 years ago. The food is just that delicious and always cooked to perfection. In such a great location in the cbd it can get busy at times but I assure you all the staff go above and beyond to cater to your needs, especially Bonney. Such a great atmosphere to dine with Family and a group of friends after a long week at work. I could not recommend the friendly staff and amazing food any higher!

I’ve just finished from a lovely dinner alone. The food was amazing! The staff were so friendly and helpful! And the manager (or the person dressed in black who I assume to be the manager) was so friendly. I told him about my waiting time (about 40 mins) and was offered a complimentary gelato. It's not easy to find. But inside is a nice place. It was noisier than expected at my table, but it was probably because it was close to the bar zone. If you're after a romantic or calm date, just stay away from the bar zone. Unfortunately, the lasagna wasn't even close to filling my expectations. That's why I rate 3 stars. I found it so sad. However, the other dishes saved the night.

I visited this restaurant for the first time the other night. Firstly, we were greeted by the nicest staff, it felt very laid back but professional. It had a great atmosphere and was super clean and modern. I was taken upstairs by the friendliest guy with long black hair. I had a prawn pasta and everything in it was super fresh and the prawns and pasta cooked perfectly. They kept checking on my table and making sure everything was looked after. I had such a great experience and can't wait to go back. ...also, the music was great ☺️

Very good pasta but incredibly crowded. They give you RFID card so that you can keep track of your orders and you have to line up at the kitchen counter to place your orders. The good news is that the pasta is made in front of you but the bad thing about this design is that you're stuck waiting in queue while they are servicing the person in front of you. You can't place your order and return to your table to wait for the meal to be prepared. I had the Ravioli which is quite good. The ambiance here is good and the kitchen staff make the meals to your order.

Could their Espresso Martini's be any better?! They add Salted Caramel - like 🤤 Their food is great, although, the drinks could be served quicker, especially when ordering via the QR code. We watched drinks being made & they'd just sit on the counter for ages until someone came along to hand them all out. Way more efficient to just order at the bar. Couldn't be happier every time we come here. Bonney the manager and his team go above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. Great for catch ups, food is good. Service is as you would expect from restaurants that use QR code ordering systems - feels a little impersonal, but the staff are always pleasant if you flag one down. Go before 6pm if you want a quiet early dinner, or after 6pm for quicker drinks (more staff on both floors)

Absolutely delicious, and a must try if you haven't. It was my first time here and the guy at the gate explained to me how it all works. First you give your order and then you have to wait in a queue, till the chef prepares your order. This essentially means longer wait times if there is a long queue. We were here around lunch time on a Friday afternoon and this was busy. It took twenty minutes for us to get our meals which was worth it. Chef prepared the food in front of us and that's the good thing about this place. Food was delecious indeed. I will definitely come back again soon. Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the ratatouille tagliatelle I ordered. Lots of vegetables, good flavour in the sauce and the pasta was cooked perfectly. I was able to ask the chef to add in more chilli to make it spicy for me so my dish had plenty of heat. The promotional $5 pink gin on Wednesdays was good and I'd highly recommend it. It seems that each Vapiano restaurant operates differently to each other. This one on Albert Street gives each person a card so each person can order at the pasta counter and pay for their own food and drinks upon leaving without the hassle of splitting bills. The downside is, you'd have to stand and wait in the queue for the chef to cook the pasta order for each person in front of you. This wait could be okay if you are lucky and only have 1 person in front of you. But if you have 5 people in front, and if each of them all have more than one pasta order, you could be standing there for more than half an hour before they even start cooking your order. Pizza, lasagne and salad orders are easier to manage as you do get a buzzer so you can order and go back to your table and wait. However, if you really want pasta, try to go early in the evening and go straight to the counter to order to minimise the waiting time. You can always decide what you want while you wait in line. There's usually plenty of seats on weeknights. Overall, for big groups it can be a bit challenging to coordinate ordering time and dining time. However, small groups of 2-4 are manageable.

The food was absolutely exceptional, the flavour was rich, the ratio of both the extras and sauce on the pasta was perfect. I ordered the Tagliatelle Carbonara and added extra cream sauce with garlic oil which had the meal to my exact preference - given Carbonara is my favourite dish this was one the best! My wife had the Spaghetti Bolognese with added mushrooms and garlic oil. She was equally satisfied. The venue itself definitely breaks away from the democratic walking around the Brisbane CDB streets, everyone was well dressed and it was a very relaxed setting. The drinks need to come out long before the meals but other than that it was perfect. The ordering process is great, you sit at your table and use the app to both order and pay and they just bring it out to you. We’ll be back soon!

Concept here is interesting, get your food prepared by your favorite in house chef. Queue up and order directly to the chef and get the tweaks done to you food right away. What Did I Try ➡️Pasta = Aglio E Olio ➡️Pizza = Fungi What Did I Like ? ➡️ Fresh Soft Base of the Pizza ➡️ Portion Size is Large for 1 What Could Be Better ? ➡️ My pasta felt very dry after a few minutes and felt the something could be improved. Not sure if there needs to be a saucy texture added to it. Leave that to the chef to improve.

A great modern Italian eatery with a very interesting concept. It's in a very central location in one of the CBD's arcades. I really like that you are a little bit further away from the actual pedestrian traffic/street traffic so it's actually a pretty great place to just chill and talk. In terms of the food, I ordered a seafood pasta dish and it was really good, alongside the fresh bread. The cooks were very kind in assisting me with the choices as I informed them that it was my first time eating. All in all a great modern restaurant and would definitely come back with family and friends!

Pretty average pasta dishes with the pasta congealed in a big clump. The sauces are good, shame about the "fresh" past. It all tasted somewhat reheated... UPDATE: Thanks Vapiano, for reaching out and trying to please all your customers. It is definitely not your customer service that lets you down (onsite staff are lovely too). I'm afraid though that, having been twice (once with a group of 6 and once with a group of 8) the general consensus was as described above. Possibly the fresh pasta needed some follow up lovin' while being cooked in the pot after having been freshly made.

Now Vapiano offers many more vegan options with clear labels on the menu. Also, they added vegan cheeses (parmesan and mozzarella for pizzas) you can add on for $2. Hopefully, the popularity of these cheeses will grow and they will include them for no additional cost in the future. Lovely service and delicious meal.

We ordered from Vapiano specifically to try the vegan bolognese, as I have found it quite rare for restaurants to use vegan mince. I had the bolognese with fettuccine and was very impressed. The pasta tasted so fresh, flavour was spot on, and the portion size was generous. We also received a free garlic pizza and my partner ordered the barbecue pollo pizza - both delicious. We ordered via a delivery company and didn't have to wait long at all. Will definitely order from here when we are in Brisbane again.

I can honestly say that out of far too many pizza stores I've been too, this is the best pizza I've ever had. I had the Truffle oil pizza and it was amazing. The ingredients were really fresh and the crust was just the right texture. Would 100% visit again.

The food was good but you have to order by scanning the QR code. Call me old fashioned but I find this very impersonal and much prefer the wait service directly. The dumb thing about ordering online is it asks you if you want to leave a tip, upfront. Difficult to understand how that could work.

Great place and yummy pasta! We went on a busy Friday evening and the queue to order pasta was really long and took us almost 30 minutes but the food was definitely worth the wait. The staff were super friendly and the seating and ambience was casual yet upscale if that makes sense. Personally the tiramisu was the highlight for me.

A very interesting way to dine in this restaurant, you are given a smart card to make orders by queuing up. After ordering, you get to observe your cook make your food. At the end of your dinner, you pay for your expenses before leaving the restaurant. Overall it's a wonderful experience, food is great, choices are plenty, including drinks. Price is slightly high, but not unreasonable. There Is a happy hour from 4-6 pm where prices are much better. Would definitely come back again for the experience.

I don't often give a 3 star rating but I felt to offer my honest feedback. This franchise/chain has definitely changed over the years. It took 10 minutes to recieve some tap water... I ordered a $18 cocktail, the glass was short and the ice was filled to the top plus my partners beer was flat. :( The food was very delicious, but the portion had definitely been cut right back obviously to avoid waste - but the price of food had gone up since my visit many years ago. I was still hungry after dinner. I won't be recommending as I definitely wasn't blown away, it only prompted me to write this review.

The whole card system with the cook taking your order seems inefficient, and a little unsanitary (like the gummy bear bowl). I want to like it but it's hectic and strange. I love this place! The options are endless and I have never had a bad meal here. It’s generally always busy but the staff manage to keep up with everything and the food is always excellent. Choose your pasta sauce and homemade pasta to match, or select from their pizza range. The idea is that you stand in line and watch your food being cooked so if you prefer sit down, waited dining I wouldn’t recommend. However, if you can deal with this the food is well worth it. They also have great desserts!

On Saturday night we got a table pretty quickly but the staff member informed it was up stairs and to turn right without actually showing us the seat. There were perhaps close to 100 people up stairs (?) so finding the said table was hard without guidance. In addition, more people were coming up. While in the queue, a couple claimed that they were in front of us, so pushed in front - perhaps there needs to be a queuing system so people are not confused as to where they are in the queue? I just took my family to Vapiano at Albert Lane for lunch and we all had a great time. The location is very convenient and the restaurant look and feel is very welcoming. I had the mushroom risotto and it was delicious. The service was quick and the two waiters that served us, I think they were Caleb and James, were very attentive and friendly. They also served the drinks and meals and cleared the table very efficiently. I would highly recommend going to Vapiano at Albert Lane for lunch or dinner. I most certainly will go back again.

A great Italian restaurant to grab a quick, easy and tasty lunch. Our food came in 10min after ordering it through the super easy website. Great portion size for the price and I have paid double for a far less tasty pasta dish. I ordered the carbonara with extra mushrooms. I would highly recommend. We ordered the truffle oil pizza and it was on point. I was also impressed with the service. The wait staff were attentive and really fast. The manager even came and checked on us which you don’t get much these days from restaurant managers. Overall this was an awesome experience and I will be returning to Vapianos very soon.

Had lunch here yesterday with my husband and our friend and was incredibly impressed with the difference of the food quality and ambiance since they’ve updated their ordering system!! 😊 Back then, each person who enters Vapiano was handed a card that you present to the chef when you order. Details of your order is saved in that card. The ground floor used to be VERY busy. People used to walk around scanning the ground floor and the top floor looking for a place to sit. Others wait for their food to be made which is annoying because there really was no waiting area - people used to wait where others line up to order. Once you’ve found a place to eat and have finished your meal, you then have to go back to the counter and present your card and pay. The system is different and much better now! As you enter the restaurant, you can choose where you want to sit. We came in around 3PM so it wasn’t that busy. There is a QR code on every table that you scan and it will take you directly to a website where you can order AND pay for your food and drinks. No more lining up and waiting!!!! Our drinks arrived 5 mins after we ordered. Service was really quick this time! When the food arrived, I thought it was presented much better. It didn’t look rushed and everything just tasted more RICH and full of flavour! We ordered the Truffle Aioli Pizza, Carbonara, Pollo Amatriciana, Aglio E Olio, and an Antipasti Board. 🍕 🍝 Vapiano NOW is so much better! I suggest that if you’ve had a different (or bad) experience before, it will be great to visit now and give it another chance!!! You won’t regret it!!!! 😇

I was in Brisbane for a week for work and ate here twice as I enjoyed the first time so much. My pasta was tasty but with bad knees the standing around waiting for my turn was a bit of a pain. I was eating here alone, it is probably easier with a few friends and some can mind a table while others organise the food and provide company while you wait. My pasta was well cooked and the sauce was fresh and tasty and the bread on the side was also fresh and great for getting the rest of the sauce. It was a good size serve and I think it was good value @ $20. Would absolutely go back and next time get another serve as a takeaway for my lunch the next day.

Strange sort of way to order with a swipe card type system and you have to collect your own meals which can be tricky if you are seated up stairs but it seems to work okay.

The cooks are not amazing, but the food will come out plated well and will be tasty. The service of the front of house, the cooks, and especially the wait staff are excellent. Great casual chain for Italian fare. I've been to Vapiano in other cities (New York, Hamburg) and they never disappoint. I love the rustic decor with light wood furniture and indoor plants. It's really fun to watch the chefs prepare your food.

Stopped in for dinner on a Saturday night. Some of the furniture is a little worn and in need of replacement. We ordered pasta and having it cooked in front of you is part of the experience. The cooks were all friendly though it was a little difficult to hear some of the questions being asked. After ordering we discovered there was additional seating available upstairs. The experience is good but the food on this accession was a little bland. I would go back again and try something else. Vapiano is great if you enjoy pasta.

The food here is brilliant. They also have a brilliant system for your food. You get a little card. And you tap it when you order your food, every guest gets one. Then, they make the food fresh in front of you, and that's how you know what you're getting is fresh and quality. Then, once you have finished dining, you take the cards, and swipe them at the check out. So if you want to pay in groups, no more splitting the bill. You pay for what's on your card, and they pay for theirs. It's an amazing system. Brilliant place and the place is absolutely stunning.

Wasn't too bad if you want something simple and tasty. They have options for meat eaters, vegetarians and vegans. The ordering system is a bit strange, they give you a card which they swipe before you order, and you seat yourself before then going up to any of the chef's as they cook for you. We went at peak time around 7.30pm on a sunday, but thankfully it was quiet. When we left however it was busier. I can see the ordering system being an issue as you would have to wait for yours to be made. Overall though it was a good experience. The price was reasonable and the portions were good.

Tried this restaurant on a busy Friday evening and was highly impressed with the Ambiance, Staff and the Pizza. It was one of the best that I had after a long long time. Wasn't too creamy or too tangy or too mushy. It was just perfect and very well balanced. The place looks busy because it's one of the best and hence bound to attract a large number of food lover's. The food is exceptional. The atmosphere and experience lets you down. If you get pasta and a friend gets pizza you will not eat together. They will have their pizza and eat it before you have ordered your pasta. No table service. You queue up for you meal and wait standing at the counter while it is made. If you go in with these expectations to enjoy the food then you should enjoy it.

Very weird system of ordering that seems to confuse every new customer. Went twice, both times getting substandard pasta. Watching the chef make your meal isn't really fun since there are people behind you breathing down your neck waiting to be served. Much prefer the sit down, order and wait system. However, apparently they have changed that at their Gardens Point store which is great.

Great decor but strange service and bland food. Went here with a group of 12. Loved the decor when we arrived but didn't like having to queue up to order my meal for over 20 minutes. Watching it get cooked in front of you while you wait is a novel idea but destroys the flow of dinner. Sadly after this lengthy wait everyone at the table was underwhelmed with the meals. Very bland. On the positive side the meals are great value for money at $18 to $20 a main course.

Very packed, but try to follow the times when most people aren't there to avoid that as much as possible. Food is amazing and well priced. You can tailor the spices, pasta type, ingredients etc, basically ever aspect of the dish to be honest. Heaps of vegan and veg options too. Bar is nicely priced

It is such a lovely place to catch up with a friend, and I know it was busy, but there were other tables available upstairs. I've never had this issue there before so won't write them off just yet. The food makes it worth going back regardless 😁

Made right in front of you fresh, hot, exactly how you want. Fresh made pasta on site makes a big difference. When busy you may have to queue a little while but it gives you a chance to see the dishes of others and make your choice. Good for groups as you get a card to use for your purchases. No bill splitting hassles.

My girlfriend is absolutely in love with this place and cannot talk more highly of it. I hadn't gone to the restaurant until after I met her and I'm glad we did. It's a great option for date night as the atmosphere is secluded while still being quite a busy restaurant. The food is always top quality and it's fun being able to see the chef's make the food in front of you at your Brisbane City location. We frequent the Garden city shop a lot more though even taking into consideration that it's about a 40 minute drive for us. The only thing I would change is maybe getting more locations on the north side of Brisbane.

Food is always nice here and the chef was lovely. Although the red hair lady at the front counter was a bit rude. Rolling your eyes and passively aggressively slamming the cards down on the table and then passing it to us is not great customer service. if you think that customers dont notice small things like that, think again. As someone who works in customer service, every small thing you do is noticeable. No matter how annoyed you might get at a customer, you do not show it in front of them, after all, they are the ones paying your wages.

The food here is amazing. I like their queuing up for your food where they make it in front of you, but it doesn't really work well in the busy city with so many people going. If you plan to go, get there latest 11:45 as it gets really busy after 12 and you have to wait for ages before they can make your food. If I could have this same food where I can order it normally and have it brought to my table, this place would get 5 stars. This place, food and atmosphere is amazing when there aren't a lot of patrons.

Great food and atmosphere but ordering system is unusual as they require every adult patron to have a swipe card that is charged inside for meals and drinks and then settled at the the register on the way out. They quite rudely refused to permit my wife and I to just use one card as it was "policy" for everyone to have one. Mind you, kids don't need one as their parents pay, so I don't understand why couples are expected to dine as individuals. Seems like a system designed on pure stupidity. Excellent food though!

I love Vapiano. It's just a fun place to go out and eat. You get a card when you first walk in, and that becomes your in store credit card. Swipe all your food and drink on it, and pay off the balance when you exit. Very unique idea, and very well executed. Another well executed idea is their pasta bar, you line up on front of one of teany chefs, select your dish from the menu and they make it right there in front of you. Lots of flare, lots of banter, it's a great relaxed atmosphere. If you've never tried it, I highly recommend giving it a go. Not only is it a great atmosphere, the food is excellent, and there's a good selection of drinks.
