Comments of Yoko Dining
E. P. L. M.
Great open air (under cover) spot right on the water in Brisbane. The staff were really helpful and happy to accommodate my allergies. The food is Japanese fusion with a concise menu of share plates and banquet style options. Great cocktails too. It's quite pricey but what you'd expect to pay for good quality food and great service in such a premium spot. Definitely recommend
A. D.
The food is fresh and very tasty, the atmosphere is amazing and the staff is professional and attentive. I came twice to Yoko Dining on Sunday lunch with the family and it was a great experience each time. It is very pleasant and relaxing to eat with a river view. Highly recommended.
T. A.
We celebrated a birthday at Yoko where we were treated to a wonderful evening of service and dining and wonderful food. Georgia, couldn’t have been more accommodating, warm and knowledgeable. In sum, we had one of the best birthday celebrations at Yoko we’ve ever had.

We heard that this place was good for gluten free and boy they aren't kidding. Most of the menu can be made gluten free. And everything is delicious. I highly recommend this to Amy coeliac that struggles to find a good place to eat. We had "the feast" and every meal was perfect. The service was attentive and pilot and the view of the city and bridge from the outside dining is extra special.

Got in there and were seated at a super wobbly table. Tried to tighten ourselves but no luck. Michael was our server and he went above and beyond to physically bring us a new table. He was also very attentive all night. Food was phenomenal, as were the cocktails. Special mention the ocean trout, eggplant and the slushie cocktail. Will definitely be back!
T. H.
I've been here so many times.. and never been disappointed with the food. Such a great atmosphere on the river and value for money. I highly recommend getting a set menu.. soooo good
B. C.
Very nice and fancy restaurant. Service was great and so was the food! There are nice views of the bridge and City just outside. Price is $$$. We were dining for 3 people, and had about 7 smaller dishes shared between us which was a perfect amount. When ordering definitely choose a large selection of dishes to be satisfied.
R. S.
Delicious food, friendly service, and beautiful location by the Brisbane river! Absolutely loved the aburi scallops and soft shell crab temaki. Will definitely be back again~
J.
We ordered the set and we’re not disappointed. Loved loved loved the flavours from the appetisers to the desert. Service was real incredible too! Loved the ambience as well.
A. S. K.
Very nice and fancy restaurant. Service was great and so was the food! There are nice views of the bridge and City just outside. I could even order Agedashi Tofu that was not on their menu. (You could ask staffs).
C. T.
The miso eggplant was amazing! Ordered 2 plates!
Really liked the mushroom karaage. Some people on the table thought the batter was not salty enough but personally was ok for me.
The pork belly kakuni was ok, it was very tender but lacking a little bit in flavour and seasoning. The addition of the negi on top was really nice though.
The wagyu striploin was very tasty and flavourful and amazing paired with the wasabi and yuzu koshou but a bit on thchewy side. Was amazing paired with white rice.
The seasonal sashimi platter was super fresh and beautifully presented. Cannot go wrong with sashimi.
The prawns with Kombu butter was really fresh and I wish I had rice at the time to eat the rest of the butter with.
The caramel miso soft serve was the best out of all 3 desserts we ordered. So creamy, smooth and the salty miso was a mind blowing addition. The shaved ice was kind of basic and really nothing special, could hardly taste the kinako. The fried cake was little under average. The sauce was very flavorful but the cake itself was really like a donut king donut. I would’ve liked to see more Japanese flavours and elements incorporated into the desserts. Maybe some matcha, Hojicha, black sesame or red bean. Maybe Instead of a fried cake, something made with glutinous rice. Overall amazing experience though, would definitely come back to try out the rest of the menu!

Came for the first time on a busy Sunday night. Six of us ordered the $80 banquet set. I was sceptical but the foods were better than I thought. Their modern take on Japanese food kind of works.
The edamame was delicious, charred and sprinkled with salt and seaweed.
The trout was so good, the sauce matched very well.
The chicken karaage is crispy and juicy but too heavy on the seasoning.
The prawns were okay. The sauce was very buttery but didn't have much other flavours. This isn’t really a Japanese dish and quite underwhelming comparing to other dishes.
The steak was cooked perfectly and the condiments work with the steak. The menu says wagyu but it tasted like a normal piece of steak to me.
The black sesame seeds ice cream wrapped with mochi is to die for. I could eat a few of thought.
Overall, good dining experience. Nice restaurant environment. You over look the river if you sit outside. Staffs were friendly and prompt service in a busy night. Not bad value for money, good amount of foods.

I was here with a friend for dinner. The waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful with our requests. The food showed an in-depth complexity of flavours and techniques. Despite the smaller portion sizes, the food tasted absolutely incredible. The view from the Yoko Dining area was also breathtaking. Definitely a fantastic dining experience!
B. M.
We took some foodie friends from Adelaide (not always easy to impress!) to Yoko and had a totally awesome restaurant experience. The location is fantastic as was the food and the service. The waitress that looked after us was excellent. Her knowledge of the menu and wine list was exemplary and very helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will definitely eat at Yoko again.
성.
We had Yoko feast. The course was very fantastic and the view was also wonderful. I will definitely visit this place again.
M. W.
Really exceeded already high expectations. The food was amazing and we were all very well fed! Super full by the end of the night. This place caters perfectly for vegans and vegetarians as well with a special menu given out to really help with ordering. Staff were extremely attentive and we felt well looked after all night. The location is perfect and despite all the good we had heard about Yoko it was still better than I could have imagined. Thank you to Yoko and especially to Grace our waitress who was amazing!
J. T.
We really enjoyed our food and the service was probably one of the best we’ve experienced in a long time. All staff was attentive and helpful. Would definitely visit again!
S. B.
Visited Yoko for my friend’s birthday and was not disappointed. Yoko accommodated to my vegan requirements with the Izakaya Set admirably, ensuring that I could enjoy the night with a delicious array of quality Japanese meals with the company of my friends. The slushie was one of the nicest, refreshing cocktails I have had in a long time. Thank you very much!
C.
My waiter was very knowledgeable with the food. Views and atmosphere was great. You have to try the tuna!
R. B.
Yoko is wonderful. Japanese food artfully prepared and very tasty. Great dishes, amazing service and beautiful location!
A. S.
Amazing service, fantastic food and the view while sitting outside is superb! Love Yoko and could not fault a thing. They also cater really well for gluten free dietary requirements. We keep coming back as it's one of our favourite places to dine!
M. M.
Honestly a fabulous lunch experience. We did the Izakava Set at $65 a head and it was stunning!
Yoko is not my usual style of food, but I wanted to be different for my Saturday afternoon and was incredibly happy I made that choice.
Location and views are fabulous, interior is simple but functional and warm. There is a view into the kitchen if you are inside, which to be honest I found far more interesting. The team in the kitchen did an outstanding job!!!
Was a little worried when we got the Edamame, but honestly everything else just fabulous. Standouts for my wife and I were aburi scallop and the eggplant (which was just divine).
The only suggestion I could make is to include a wine pairing option. The wines we had were nice, but I feel didn’t bring the food to life. One of those instances where the wine let the food down.
Honestly for the price this place is a gem, a strong recommend from me!!!
J. N. (. N.
Yoko is fantastic. The food is always mouth watering and tasty. The assorted sashimi is a must for the sashimi lovers! The staff are kind and attentive. Georgia is fantastic, she always has a smile on her face and makes me feel welcome every time.
Q. G.
It is my first time having dinner with couple friends. We choose $65set menu.
It start with great service and nice dishes until to the last two dishes: A whole bowl of chopped cabbage with no flavour and chicken not nice either. So disappointing with those two dishes, shocked 😳
Soft serve: Mocha one is ok, not the lemon sour one (not sure what’s that, very sour)
Will not recommend to any other friends
j. h.
Thank you for another amazing meal at Yoko! As always your service team were exceptionally attentive, considerate and kind. The food was incredible and cocktails delicious. I cannot love you more and you made my sons 18th birthday with a few family and friends an absolute joy.

Update May 21:
Came back the second time and had the best time. LOVE the new menu. Amazing food, drinks, view and service! Had the potato, eggplants and chirashi sushi box. Everything was delicious and uniquely Japanese fusion.
Do yourself a favour and get the signature slushie 🍹🍋 So good! Will come back 😊
Feb 21 review:
Came here for cocktails and desserts after our disappointing experience with Stanley. Yoko on the other hand was amazing!
Great Japanese inspired cocktails, delicious Japanese fusion food and a beautiful restaurant with a stunning river and Story Bridge view.
Super friendly and attentive staff.
We enjoyed our time here and will be back.
M. M.
Every single dish was truly amazing. The wagyu nigiri rocked my world. Will definitely be back.
C. H.
Brought my parents who were visiting from Sydney here for dinner on a Sunday night. Service was impeccable and they were very knowledgeable about the food. We ordered the Yoko banquet and we were impressed with all the dishes. The wagyu was my favourite, followed closely by the karaage chicken. It has a lovely modern atmosphere and great location at HSW, especially for visitors
P. F.
Went to Yoko for my wife's birthday on a Tuesday night. We got the share plate banquet. Every dish was amazing and a taste sensation. Our waiter was Chilean and a lovely gentleman. Highly recommend and will go back again
t. s.
Need to give a special mention to Rachael she was our waitress. She was hands down the best!! So polite but friendly with us it made our entire night. Absolute lovely young lady. The food was amazing the eggplant was excellent, it took me by surprise but it is my favourite thing on the menu now.
K. H.
Yoko dining is a Japanese style restaurant with the best view of Brisbane city. The yoko feast that we had was of the utmost perfection. Every course was a journey of flavors through time. The highlight for me was actually the steamed greens with shiitake mushroom XO. The taste of it really reminded me of home and brought back so many fond memories of the bustling sounds and kitchen noises in Malaysia. It truly was a delight to have dined at yoko and we will definitely be back!

Oh my goodness this place is beyond amazing, we’ve been trying to get in for ages as it’s always booked out and we finally got an outside table and it was so incredible, everything we ordered was so so tasty and delicious and the Mango frozen cocktail was ridiculously good, I legit want to try everything in the menu, so good can’t wait to go back 🙌🏼

Yoko is at the top of my lists of the restaurants at Howard Smith Wharf. HSW, although a popular destination, is relying a lot on its location to attract customers in my opinion. Yoko, however, is the exception to this.
We booked a late lunch and chose the degustation. I am a pescetarian and the seafood is excellent and treated with respect. Share plates are my fave to serve dishes of "fine dining" standard in a more relaxed, casual fashion. This also holds a romantic flare in my experience to the event.
What I liked as well, is that we were served dishes that I don't make at home. They were presented colourful, are nutritious and yummy at the same time.
I don't want to give away any more. Have a lunch or dinner and see for yourself. I recommend the degustation.
J. T.
GEORGIA!!! Amazing service and I took my two kids under 10, but, she made us feel so relaxed because it ain’t easy taking kids out to eat lol but she was just amazing with entertaining both kids and then recommending the most amazing dishes…
The food was amazing!!! Fave was def the bolognese and miso glazed eggplant 😍😍
Highly recommend this place!!

Not just an ordinary sushi restaurant but a good example of a Japanese place with unique and interesting menu. Edamame is made on grill which makes it one of the best tasting I have ever tried. Clam akadashi soup was also good to taste though clams were a bit rubbery. Swordfish was quite good as well. I’d love to see more options in the small- and medium- plate range though, therefore 4/5 only. But I’d love to get back again to try more again
M.
We had an absolutely perfect dining experience at Yoko last night...every aspect was on point, and we would like to make a special mention of the exceptional wait staff (who are no doubt working incredibly long hours and are under a lot of pressure given the current covid situation). I am so pleased to highly recommend this place to others, as it is truly a fun and highly tasty Japanese dining experience. Fine dining without pretension....our favourite combo :)
C. K. P.
First time here and it was awesome! We sat in the Lounge Bar area which had lovely decor and mood lighting. Our waiter Michael was very welcoming and knowledgeable when walking us through the menu and giving tips on how and what to order.
We decided to do the Izakaya Set and the food was definitely a wonderful experience topped off with a delicious dessert right at the end!
Definitely recommend to anyone keen to try a modern take to japanese cuisine.
J. H.
Incredible ambience, drinks & food! The set menus are well worth it, little bit of everything. Definitely coming back xx
J. I.
We stumbled across Yoko while on a short trip from Melbourne. Wow, what a great place. We had the set menu. It was simply delicious. Probably the best kingfish sashimi I’ve ever had! Beautifully located on the river. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Brisbane.
S. S.
Superb food and service. Our waitress was super helpful and ensured we ordered the right amount of food for our party. Everything was timed well and wait staff were attentive. Thoroughly enjoy our dining experience and will return. Thanks team Yoko!
S. B.
I’ve been to Yoko so many times and tonight’s service experience has been the best experience I’ve ever had at the restaurant. Caleb was exceptional. I threw heaps of questions at him and he answered all with astounding product knowledge (and with an upsell or cross sell). His product recommendations were delicious and his language and communication really helped sell the food.
Working at a restaurant myself, observing service quality just becomes second nature. Caleb is an amazing addition to the team. Thank you for your attentive service, well done!
B. L.
Food was absolutely wonderful. One of the highlights for us was the Aburi Scallop which was so juicy and flavourful. And the Miso Eggplant which was unexpectedly amazing. Not only was the food good but our server was friendly and helped us out when we needed it.
M. N.
Loved dining at Yoko ! The view and the table we booked outside had a beautiful view of the bridge, city and river.
The service was fast and attentive and our waitress was so lovely. Honestly it’s what makes this a higher star review. I loved how she took her time to explain the sake/food pairing, was patient and also let us sample them beforehand. There was also an instance where we found something in my friends cocktail and the waitstaff replaced it instantly ASAP.
The food itself was delicious but the highlight was definitely the Wagyu Scotch steak MB 8 350g. If you were to try anything here it needs to be this! We also enjoyed the kingfish, scallops, karaage chicken, soft shell crab and the cocktails. For the dessert, the miso caramel soft serve was good but nothing so fancy. The fried cake was interestingly different and had very strong boozy berries that accompany it haha.
Thank you Yoko !
A. D.
Perfect Sunday Lunch, service, food and drinks were 10/10. Highly recommend the scallop / wagyu nigiri, tuna and ocean trout sashimi and the gyoza was the best we have ever had.
J. P.
Luke is always a delight. We have been to Yoko 4 times, and Luke has been there 3 of those times. He always goes above and beyond for my partner and I. He seems very happy at Yoko, which in turn makes us very happy at Yoko. If possible, please pass this feedback onto Luke as I know how much positive customer feedback can mean to staff.
J. H.
From the first time we dined at Yoko, for lunch if I recall, our lives were a happier place. Every time we go there we are treated with such regard and care and this attention to detail is in every aspect of the Yoko experiences. Service, food, wine, it sets a standard for all other fine eateries of Brisbane to follow (I hope).
B. Z.
Nice view, good service, good food, a little pricey so better for more special occasions if you're having a meal, otherwise just going here for a drink and then having some edamame snack is nice too.
C. L.
Best restaurant in Brisbane (in my opinion). Food and drinks are great value. The staff are always extremely attentive and the service is quick. I book all my celebrations here, big and small!
W. F.
Booked for a Birthday dinner last night for 9 people. The greeting from front of house and the service from the staff were friendly and of excellent standard. We had the $85 Feast set and the food was amazing. The Kingfish in goma sauce, grilled prawns in kombu sauce and the wagyu were the highlight for me,
The cocktails were delicious and the view stunning.
I highly recommend this place and we will be back again soon to try more dishes.
A. B.
Beautiful food and lovely atmosphere. The upstairs dining felt secluded for my birthday dinner. The service was amazing! We all agreed we would definitely be back soon. The banquet menu was well thought out, there was nothing we didn’t like! My vegetarian friend was well taken care of as well. The drinks were delicious and we never waited for a top up on anything!
R. O.
Have been here a few times because the food, wine and service is phenomenal.
View of the bridge is gorgeous and great vibe.
The tempura eggplant is out of this world.
If you get the waiter, Will he is awesome. Super helpful and goes above and beyond.
Endeavouring to try everything on the menu
A. P.
Dined last night in a group of four for the Banquet. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was amazing (edamame & ocean trout were standouts), service was mostly attentive, alas the food wait times were very extensive. Completely understand that a busy public holiday left them with a very full service but 3 hours for start to finish for the banquet felt very lengthy. Especially with large gaps between meals and no fresh share plates/napkins/cutlery between courses. Would definitely dine again but to be paying that much + beverages with a PH rate on top left me a little dissapointed.
R. D.
Cant say I was expecting a 'a lot' from a new years package given previous experiences. I was definitely positively surprised - really nice food and although I don't remember the waiters name, he was really attentive and didn't miss anything. Even brought us some free cocktails because some of the food was running a bit late.
E. W.
Really nice restaurant. If you have a table by the river you get really nice views of the Story Bridge and the city at sunset and night. Food is excellent especially the Chicken Karaage, edamame and the grilled steak. Service is also really good.
A. D.
Yoko never disappoints. From the warm greeting at the entrance, to the attentive service and genuine care shown by staff - this is not any ordinary dining experience. Every dish I have ordered here has been exquisite - the chefs at Yoko take a basic appetiser like edamame to the next level. I specifically recommend the expertly-curated banquet to newcomers (for a chance to try a bit of everything).
But I will not lie, what keeps me coming back every time are the slushies. I have never tasted anything quite like it. I end up ordering a minimum of 3 every time I go. Be warned: they aren’t light on the rum.
Spectacular. This is the restaurant I take my friends or family when they visit Brisbane. Cannot wait to come back!
J. R.
Definitely one of the best restaurants in Brisbane and I try to tell anyone who will listen.
Execution and flavour on every dish is just spot on every time.
Service friendly, relaxed and attentive.
K. P.
Really enjoyed our experience at Yoko - first timers!
The location on the river, the cool vibe, the edgy Japanese menu, great service, made it a rock star place to eat.. we will return..
T. Z.
One of the best japanese restaurants in Brisbane. The staff were very friendly and explained the menu and the amount of dishes we should order between the two of us. Best gyoza we have tried in Brisbane! Nigiris, wagyu beef and their chicken were cooked with a perfect timing. The only downside was the waiting time between our first two dishes and second two was 30 minutes.
C. S.
Tried the set menu. Food is in great portion and staff is really nice. Loved the outside seats as the amazing night view~btw, the black sesame dessert is niceeeeee!!!!!!!
T. I.
The wait staff were exceptionally great, the food was amazing and the cocktails were stunning, we had many and every single one was high quality, made and presented perfectly.
Party of 7 dined upstairs, had a booth and really great atmosphere!
H. v. M.
Great food, with unique selections and good group options.
We celebrated my son's birthday and the service was seamless.
Amazing spot in the city, good ambiance and value for money.
E. G.
Beautiful food, wonderful service and great outlook.
We loved our visit to Yoko. The food was really delicious and enjoyable. The servers where really lovely and knowledgeable which added to an overall enjoyable experience.
The reason I am giving this a 4 is because we ordered the Wagyu Scotch fillet ($60) and it was really gristly. Some pieces where inedible, it was very chewy and difficult to swallow, I think for the price of that one dish, it shouldn’t have been like that. I will say however, the flavour was AMAZING.
A. D.
Yoko is truly the greatest restaurant that Brisbane has to offer!
We often stick to the Yoko slushies for drinks but we felt adventurous the other night and tried both the Highball and the Sakura Sour... wow. It really says a lot about a venue when every single thing on the menu is a hit rather than miss. Although we are loyal to the Yuzu Slushie, we will spend more money trying more of the drinks next time! As always, the staff were incredible. We felt like VIP guests! A venue could have the best food in the world but if the wait staff doesn't make you feel special then it's not worth it. Luckily, Yoko continues to tick all the boxes.
Pure Shibui Sashimi that melted in my mouth. I genuinely visit Yoko multiple times a month just to try every dish but I think the Sashimi is a must-try for every occasion. You know the food is good when you joke, "If I can't get married here - then I want my funeral here because this is to. die. for."
Thanks again!
J. J.
Had dinner at Yoko last night, definitely a 5 star experience. Food and service outstanding. There was a small mishap with our order, the waiter was quick to apologise and unlike most restaurants where that's where it ends, we received a substantial reduction in our bill. Above and beyond. Best food I have had in a long time. Highly recommend the oysters, edamame, miso eggplant, prawns and chicken karaage. We've eaten at majority of restaurants at Howard Smith Wharves... this is the best!
H. C.
Chose Yoko to celebrate a work lunch with colleagues and was left a little disappointed by the service. The food was perfectly fine, however the drinks came out well after the first dish and only after walking up to the bar to remind the waitress, the drinks then came out incorrectly. The restaurant was relatively quiet which made it surprising that it was hard to grab the attention of the wait staff for more drinks and then again for the bill at the end of the meal.
A. C.
We recently celebrated my birthday at Yoko and the experience was absolutely wonderful! The team at Yoko went the extra mile to make you feel welcome and to cater to any additional requirements! The food was delicious, my partner and I shared the banquet which provided a wide variety of different dishes! Yoko is definitely one to go onto your list of must visits in Brisbane! We look forward to dining here again soon!
G. K.
Had a lovely dinner here with sister. Lovely view and great service.
P. K.
Yoko you have won my heart!!!
Every course was sublime, the oysters were the star followed very closely by every other dish. I cannot wait to dine there again. Food was well presented and perfectly cooked and flavoured. The Japanese Whiskey stock is absolutely mind blowing. My mouth is watering just writing this. If you think Japanese dining is visiting a sushi train then take a visit to Yoko’s and have your mind blown. This is how Japanese food should be done. I wish we had more stars to hand out. Oh and the views at night are very very nice.
L. K.
Thank you Yoko for a delicious, memorable experience.
Yoko serves the world's BEST edamame. I went with the 85pp feast and got to try a range of Yoko's dishes, which were all so aesthetic and flavourful. I was blown away by the in-house-made fermented yuzu/ponzu paste that came with the Wagyu. The yuzu cocktail slushi was also amazing - I had to order more than 1. I will also mention that the Yoko staff were incredibly friendly and knew their stuff when we had questions about the flavours. Arigatou Yoko team, you rock! I'll definitely be coming back!
A. L.
IMPECCABLE!!! From cold dish to mains and finishing with a perfect dessert selection, every dish was above expectation. I would definitely recommend the scallops, tempura prawns and okra, toasted rice with spanner crab, soba noodles, wagyu cap for first time diners. Our night was accomplished with the all the amazing dishes. The white sesame mochi ice cream, miso caramel ice cream to perfect taste buds after savoury food. Service carried out by staff was above premium. Felt privileged to dine in such caring restaurant.
Additionally, I must mention that Yoko had the flexibility to offer adjustable portion sizes according to the number of diners we had on the night. It added a special touch to accomodate needs of each group. Fantastic!
Staff made extra effort to fit all plates on our table and clearing empty plates as necessary. Attending to our table if we need any service or drinks. Must compliment staffs out on the deck. Great staff and great service!
Our dining experience at Yoko was absolutely outstanding!

The food and service at Yoko Dining was nothing short of impeccable. My partner and I came to eat here for his birthday on a Monday and the place was packed! I recommend reserving a seat, but it seemed walk ins were accommodated with ease.
Our server was very attentive, we never even had to refill our own water glasses. He wasn’t the only one, in fact each server that saw us that evening was lovely and helpful.
We ordered the $80 banquet meal with a few extras (miso eggplant and soft shell crab - no regrets at all!) and we left so satisfied. I was very impressed with the portions especially considering this is fine dining.
Each item - cocktails, sides, mains, starters and desserts - were delicious. I’m used to paying through the nose for much less, especially at Howard Smith Wharves, but Yoko totally exceeded my expectations.

Heard lots of great things about this place, from food to service to atmosphere to the amazing views of the city & story bridge... Happy to say, i agree with the outstandingly positive feedback too 👍🏼👍🏼
.
Welcomed in by friendly staff, questions answered about both food and drinks menu and the food just kept coming steadily after we placed our order. Started off with some drinks - a No Booze Iced Tea & Dewazakura Dewasansan sake 🍶👌🏼
.
Then onto food!! Miso-glazed eggplant tempura ( really like the miso flavour, strong but not overpowering), Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karaage to kick us off. Great flavours all round - the Karaage was a bit too crunchy for us but still tasted good 👍🏼
.
Next we had the Kingfish sashimi (it's served with a sesame tangy dressing - super appetizing) and a Hako Nigiri (scallops, with a yuzu and buttery flavouring - one of our standout favorite dishes). We also got a Spanner Crab handroll - not bad either. Last dishes to enjoy were the Spicy Japanese Bolognese and the Wagyu Intercostal (the onion, sesame and teriyaki sauce was a great compliment to the super beefy, wagyu flavoured dish) 🤤🤤🤤🤤
.
Loved everything here and we'll probably be back again to try the rest of the menu! 🥰🤭🤩

I don't know if it's just because I've never dined at nice restaurants before but Yoko was such an amazing dining experience. Caleb/Kaleb was very attentive, and all the wait staff were so lovely when they brought the food out. Not to mention that the food was so good! (The Yuzu slushie is my favourite frozen cocktail I've ever had). The view is lovely and the restaurant has such a beautiful atmosphere about it. We will definitely be back to try everything else on the menu!
H. U.
My husband and I went for dinner for his birthday and look forward to returning. We ordered the Yoko Feast and some cocktails and everything was delicious! The prawns, edamame and coral trout were among our favourite. Food came out in a very timely manner, we were left feeling very full and just enjoyed the entire experience. Our waitress, Georgia, was extremely attentive and lovely!
T. B.
Yoko is a restaurant you take EVERYONE to. The food, the service, drinks, ambience and music is absolutely amazing and it will always be my favourite restaurant in Brisbane! Never disappoints. My favourite must have dish is definitely the wagyu striploin (haven’t found steak better than that yet) and all the sashimi and seafood is so fresh every time I go. Another favourite is their mochi ice cream which I am truly addicted to! Please visit !

Celebrated our anniversary recently. Great food, excellent service, amazing views and even better cocktails. Had a few too many slushies!

Great meal. Fantastic food and service. It is definitely on the pricey side though. Been here several times for groups of 4, always do the feast, that's the best option. But we never seem to spend less than $500 together on the night so be sure that's part of your plan and budget before booking.
H. T.
Food was OK and service is good but if you don't mind the wait. It took nearly half an hour for the 1st Entree and subsequent dishes took between 15 to 20 minutes so definitely not a good experience. This is lunch by the way, imagine dinner would take even longer.
N. S.
Right in the place where it's all happening! Very popular!
Easy access if your from the area and know the place well, if you're from out of town, Brisbane itself is complicated to navigate. Better to either Uber/taxi it in or have someone drop you off.
Unsure if there is any parking close by. I think there is secure parking that you have to pay for.
Went for a work xmas party and had a private area. The staff had impeccable service!
Japanese style cuisine, food was great and well presented!
It had a really great atmosphere.
T. W.
Excellent and refined fare all dishes were well sized also and portions generous. Wait staff were attentive and knowledgable and food came out fast also. Would highly recommend.
C. A.
Our lunch was absolutely amazing! The waiters were attentive, the food serving size was plentiful. What an incredible venue! We cant wait to come back!
G. S.
My wife had lunch on Sunday, all the food was soooo yummy. The gyoza was the best we both have ever tried. The and the services was the best we have experienced in a long time. And we would go back in a heart beat.

I had the pleasure of having a fantastic meal at Yoko on a beautiful Friday night. The restaurant has an enviable position almost under the Story Bridge in the Howard Smith Wharf precinct.
The wine list and food menu was fantastic and I was impressed with my choices as they were brought out from the kitchen a timely manner but I never felt rushed as it is alway a joy to make an evening linger with fine food and wine. I managed to also try the Sake selection which was more than expertly explained with 3 tasting glasses of differing blends to complement the dishes ordered.
I must recommend Wagyu as it was my pick of the dishes for the night. The service was some of the best I have received in a long time and I can't wait for another opportunity to try Yoko again.
M. T.
Came in with my girlfriend for a celebration dinner and was so glad we came here, Charlie our waiter was incredible, so nice and very fast, food and drinks were amazing but he’s service was outstanding
A. C.
Everything we ordered was delicious. Service was amazing & staff were lovely & friendly. The restaurant was very helpful and accommodating with my dietary requirements. I can’t wait to be back. The highlights of our meal was definitely the aburi scallops, grilled prawns and wagyu sirloin.
N. (. S.
Japanese dined in experience with Yoko Dinning at Howard Smith Wharves is one of my favourite date night out. This time I have got seated inside which is the good vibe seeing chef in cooking action. We love all the food especially Wagyu - aburi wagyu and don't miss out their cocktail Slushie yuzu. The service is good too.
What we had:
🐔 Chicken karaage
🐂 Wagyu - aburi wagyu,kizami wasabi
🐟 Teriyaki kingfish collar
🥃 Tommy-Son Tequila, mezcal,
lime, agave, togarashi salt
🧊 Slushie yuzu, rum,
passionfruit, mandarin
🍧 Kakigori, kinako
D. K.
Absolutely beautiful meal. 4 of us each had the Yoko Feast. Every dish was excellent. Will be back to try the rest of the menu
K. L.
Perfect location and atmosphere. Certainly picturesque.
The sake was beautiful and our waitress was lovely.
Sadly the food was such a disappointment.
Japanese is one of our FAVOURITE cuisines and unfortunately Yoko didn’t quite make the cut for us.
We ordered the kingfish, the pork Gyoza, edamame, sushi box and the charcoal chicken.
The Edamame and Gyoza were the only two things we enjoyed.
G.
I’ve been to Yoko 3 times now and every time I’m blown away by the incredible food, amazing service and great vibe that this restaurant has! The staff are always so helpful and friendly and the food is on another level - the miso eggplant and miso caramel soft serve are divine and I always order 2! I’ll continue going there for all of my future events, very happy customer!
H.
Took my partner to Yoko for a birthday celebration dinner, and it went above all expectations. The cocktail menu was the best we have had at a venue that doesn't specialize in cocktails, the Slushie, Lychee Blossom , Ginger Highball, and Burakkuberi Bramble were all amazing.
The food is fantastic, and the staff did an amazing job with the pacing, with the fried caking being the perfect way to end the night.
Our waitress did an amazing job at making sure we were satisfied at all times, without being intrusive.
Cannot recommend this venue more, and it will be our go to for date nights going forward!
M. C.
For someone like myself that is not the biggest fan of Japanese food, I was very happy to come here for dinner. Firstly, the venue itself is very atheistically pleasing and the staff were very friendly. We were greeted upon arrival and the staff were more than happy to explain the menu and what they recommended we try. All the food we ordered was delicious. We started with the kaarage chicken and the wagyu nigiri - the chicken was juicy and full of flavour while still being super crunchy. We then had the prawns, gyoza and steak - all equally delicious. The only thing I would recommend for someone else is that you order sides with the steak as they come separately. Overall would come back here again.
W. K.
Everything was perfect , highly recommended. Our server Andrea was friendly and attentive. Good quality food especially loved eggplant and sashimi !
A. O.
Had an absolutely fantastic time at Yoko. The food were all amazing! I especially liked the spicy rice noodles, kingfish and miso-glazed eggplant. The service was also impeccable. Atmosphere was good and energetic.
A small small note, the scallop with the foam kinda throws me off with the texture but that's a personal thing, other than that, everything was amazing. Good one Yoko! :)
J. G.
Wonderful overall experience, great and helpful staff with an excellent menu.
Recommend the Yoko Feast to get a taste of the best selections from their menu.
D. s.
Luke the person who was looking after our table restored my faith in the youth of today, he did an exceptional job of looking us, explained everything perfectly and managed to join in on the banter of a couple of silly old blokes and our wives. The egg plant was excellent.
G. L.
Simply Amazing!
Amazing food, amazing location and amazing service! Flavio and Sioni went above and beyond, very professional and super nice.
It’s our third dinner at Yoko and we’ll definitely go back.highly recommend.
d. j.
Food was amazing, service exemplary, location wonderful. Prices very reasonable for the quality. Also, huge thanks to our waiter, Connor. A credit to your establishment.
M. S.
We celebrated my daughter 18th birthday at Yoko Dining and absolutely loved it. The food, the venue and the service were all amazing. If your looking for a lovely venue to celebrate a special occasion or just an intimate dinner I can highly recommend Yoko Dining and we are all looking forward to our next visit! Can’t wait..😊🍾
A. S.
Food & service was nothing short of exceptional. From edamame off the hibachi grill to kingfish ceviche to waguy striploin, we had a ball. On the list for another visit next time we're in Brisbane.
L. S.
Great Japanese food with quick service and knowledgeable staff.
Location is ideal for a night out, plenty of bars nearby. Perfect date night.
C. N.
it was okay. A lot of the smaller dishes were extremely underwhelming and basic in flavour but the main stuff were mind blowing. A 50/50 I guess
X.
Review: Yoko is a perfect place for a date or a celebration, but doesn’t make the cut for the will-return list.
I battled with this one for a while. I wanted to like it and there were so many things to like so let’s start with the amazing view.
Yoko runs along the riverside and I guess that’s where they’ve derived their name (yoko:horizontal/side to side). Other than the average colour of the Brisbane river, the city view under the Story Bridge makes for a stunning spot.
With some cleverly installed mirrors on the far wall, and the architecture in the ceiling it makes the restaurant appear longer and larger than it actually is for a nice inviting lunch with a view.
We’re normally pretty on time for reservations but that day Lady Luck was on her day off. Even though we were late for our lunch reservation, the Yoko crew were gracious and sat us at a great table facing the river. Our host gave good recommendations and the wait for the food was in good time. They were late with one of our cocktails (but it came quickly when we reminded them albeit towards the end of the meal). It was busy, but a little more attention during the meal to check in would have been nice.
The sashimi was fresh, and presented nicely, and there was some gastronomic experimentation with the layers in the tofu and scallops. The deep fried prawns were cooked well and an edible head tells you it’s crisp as a mf.
I think where I got confused was whether I was in a fine dining establishment or not, because the prices were pretty up there for the size of serving when you compare with other Japanese establishments (like that famous one on the Northside also next to the river) but the experience was very casual. It was loud and rowdy, the music was pumped to a drinking crowd and I’m not sure that added to the simplicity of Japanese dining, which involves all senses to enjoy the freshness of something as beautiful as sashimi. Nothing in the end stood out for me but how loud everything was.
So yeah, great for that “remember that one time we went to that date and everything was really nice” but it’s not for return trips for those who seek a foodie trail.
Notes: Went as a couple on a weekday Friday. Lunch after 1pm but still filled with lots of city folk hanging around for drinks. Bailed on dessert menu and went to west end to satisfy a crepe craving.
b. r.
Try the Edamame! Not your typical steamed version, done on a char grill with spices, absolutely the best. We tried the Izakaya Set, a perfect amount of food. Overall, the atmosphere, food & staff where great, you won't be disappointed.
S. C.
Had a great milestone bday celebration with my family and my best man from Canada. Staff were great, food was delicious and the setting showcased the best of Brisbane.
J. W.
One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve been to. Amazing food and lovely service. Their mandarin citrus cocktail was one of the best cocktails I’ve had. Can not recommend this restaurant more!
C. C.
My whole experience at Yoko was exceptional. The food and service was amazing. Can't wait to come back again soon!
R. C.
Absolutely beautiful food and amazing service from Rachel ! She knows her menu very well and gave us good recommendations !
The eggplant was AMAZING, basically everything we ordered was amazing !
We had assorted sashimi, eggplant, gyoza, pork belly, steamed greens and rice, for dessert we had miso caramel ice cream and yuzu sorbet. It was fair bit of food for 5 girls but we managed to finished all that.
Everything was really tasty and very good timing.
Thanks again Rachel for your amazing service.
We certainly will be back
J. P.
Another of Brisbane's high quality restaurants, Yoko serves up delicious Japanese treats in a stunning location. Have really enjoyed my meal each time I have eaten there. The taste, quality and service have all been awesome every time. Have always sat outside, and love the space in general. Enjoy. Well worth the outing!
C. T.
Izakaya Set menu for 2 with drinks - Nippy Rockshop and Tommy-son. Amazing dinner for birthday treats 🎉
S. S.
Excellent value seafood ramen special this month, including a nice yuzu highball. Plus the location on the river is super atmospheric and they have cute cherry blossoms woven through the rafters
J. M.
Awesome Japanese fare right by the riverside. Touches of Australian fusion in the menu, e.g. the prawn tempura is whole prawns shell and all in a very light batter. Highlights were the tonkatsu and kimchi okonomiyaki.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable, and highly attentive. She went out of her way to make sure we knew what we were ordering.
Cocktails and selection of alcohol were top tier. I highly recommend the matcha melon.
S. M.
Amazing Japanese cuisine, great views and sophisticated slushies. A la carte and banquet options are both great. Don’t leave without your fair share of charcoal edamame beans and scallops 😍
P.
Booking cut short by rushing staff who were trying to get us out the moment we sat down. Even asked if we wanted dessert while we were in there middle of our main course. The booking was from 6-8, 2 hour slot and they told me we had to be out by 7.45. Not a nice way to spend our anniversary dinner."
H. N.
Wonderful atmosphere and good service. We had the yoko feast which is an 11 course banquet. Some dishes were quite average and some dishes were quite delicious. Highlights were the grilled edamame, crab fried rice and wagyu sirloin with onion salad.
J. M.
This was our first visit to Yoko and The food was great and the service was very good even when the night picked up. We ordered share plates and ended up taking so much food home with us.
M. D.
One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. All the food is amazing and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend.
C.
Beautiful Japanese restaurant situated on Howard Smith Wharves right near the Storey Bridge. Stunning views of the river and city. Tasty drinks. Meals are flavoursome and well sized. Great sashimi. Friendly service and good atmosphere. Will be coming back!
C. B.
Had our Christmas work dinner here. Amazing food, they adapted everything for those with dietary requirements , so no one was left out. Couldnt fault anything!
Z. H.
Thank you Yoko for an amazing experience! Every dish was stunning, the service was impeccable and the view spectacular. We will be back!
D. M.
We had an amazing evening at Yoko Dining
The food was absolutely superb.
Our waitress was so friendly and so accommodating
Atmosphere was electric
Thank you for a great night
J. C.
Service is good, location is great. But for the banquet, the price for the quality sadly just wasn't good enough. Would go to honto instead for a banquet
N. K.
My test of “Japanese authenticity” with a restaurant is taking my Japanese grandmother in law. If she enjoys it, then it’s legit. We took her here for her 90th birthday and she had a ball. Loved the sashimi, hated the Japanese bolognese. Personally I liked the bolognese, but I didn’t survive the Hiroshima blast like she did so I’ll shut up.
The slushy cocktail was also sensational and dangerously well priced.
My only complaint is I felt the menu was a bit limited.
A. D.
Location is nice but food is pretty 5/10.
One meal came out in 5 mins the other over an hour later
The $30 sake trying set somehow cost $52
T. T.
Food was delicious. They were clearly busy and so we had a few issues with our order not coming out/parts forgotten. Also very closely placed tables so there wasn't much sense of privacy as you could hear everyone around you
R.
We are from Sydney. We did the banquet. Service size was perfect, quite generous actually. Each dish was delicious. Wine list and beer menu was very good too. Ambiance is spot on. Desert - caramel miso soft serve was a great highlight! Service was very good too. I would def come back!!
B. C.
Great tasting food and the service was fantastic. A small criticism though was the amount of food we received was well below what we expected for the price and type of restaurant.
K. K.
Have been here multiple times and I am never disappointed. The service, view, food, drinks and vibe set this place apart. Do yourself a favour and make a booking.
C. K.
Absolutely amazing, My girlfriends and I came in tonight and just want give a shout-out too our Waiter Charlie, he was so attentive very knowledgeable, quiet funny as well he truly made our experience one too remember, also can’t forget how good the food and drinks are too, if you book ask for Charlie honesty best thing
K. B.
After having walked past the restaurant and thinking that I would like to take my partner there I made a reservation for my anniversary and was very happy that I did we were treated well the food was excellent along with the service and the young waiter was extremely enthusiastic about delivering his excellent knowledge on what we were eating we will be going back!
D. M. W.
Have been here twice, and both times exceeded my expectations. The team was so amazing with dietaries and they looked and tasted just as good as their menu items. Great Japanese food, cannot recommend enough. I will tell anyone who will listen how good this place is
N. L.
I absolutely loved my Yoko experience - we chose to do the Izakaya Set menu and it was an excellent decision - it's a great taste of the entire menu and incredible value for money. Every flavour and texture is considered in each dish. The staff are extra attentive and explained each dish so well (love staff who get as excited as their guests about the food they are serving!). Also the soft serve was one of the best things I've ever eaten somehow?
J. M.
AMAZING FOOD! So delicious, I tried a bit of everything and it was to die for! What a great atmosphere. The beautiful view of the Brisbane river was stunning. Thanks to our waitress, Regina, for being so helpful to our table! I had no idea what to order and she was very helpful with her recommendations. Will be back again to introduce Yoko to my friends and family!
T. H.
On the occasion of my daughter's 50th birthday, Yoko Dining proved to be an excellent venue with views of the river and the bridge adding an unforgettable ambience.
Yoko staff were professional and attentive.
The menu was exquisite.
s.
My friend and I visit Yoko quite often, as their food is AMAZING! We always buy the same set and drink, and the quality of the food and drinks are always perfect. The staff are always so kind and accomodating. However, Georgia stands out with her INCREDIBLE customer service! She always remembers us and our order, is always so friendly and bubbly, and is just so so kind and accomodating to us. I just had to leave a review for her cause her service goes above and beyond any restaurant I've ever been too, and I hope she gets the recognition she deserves! Thank you so much for everything Georgia, and I'm sure you will see us again!
L. C.
We had an amazing experience at Yoko! Staff were so friendly and fun and every dish was impeccable.
L. C.
Without a doubt, Yoko was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. Wonderful service, superb drinks (the tommy-son margarita was perfection) and unbelievably delicious food. We tried to choose our favourite dish and but was a 5-way tie between each of the items we ordered! It is a must for anyone in Brisbane.
T. S.
It is difficult to rate these overcrowded places. They are all the rage clearly, but I did not find the food, service, atmosphere anything to rave about, having a set the to eat left me feeling like I was in a served buffet, which was good, but not outstanding. Might be getting old, but a more intimate venue would have appealed to me more.
D. R.
I recently stayed at Crystalbrook Vincent at Howard Smith Wharf, where I dined out at many different locations. The highlight of our dinning experience was at Yoko. The food was absolutely amazing along with the service and by far my best dinning experience in Brisbane. We had the $80 set menu which I highly recommend as you get to really experience how great the food is. Cannot wait to go back
M. R.
The food was incredible and so was Georgia’s service! Highly recommend!
J. R.
Edit: we came back for another try tonight and everything was wonderful, the food was phenomenal, service was great. Highlights were the kingfish collars and fried cake. Re-rated at 5 stars, well deserved.
Original review: It was super busy, but our server was doing her best and was the highlight of the visit. Food was good, but 1.25 hours was too long to wait for even the welcome cocktail to hit the table...
N. V.
The most amazing dining experience. The sashimi platter, soft shell crab and eggplant were the highlight but we enjoyed every dish and the customer service was phenomenal. Will definitely be back!
B. W.
Great food and wonderful service. Will definitely be back and recommend to others.
a. b.
Superb new addition to an exciting Brisbane dining precinct. Expect surgically precise flavours and bold, generous and delicious plates.
Pork gyoza are mourish, pork buns are actually perfect, okra tempura was an unsung hero.
Paired with a well curated beer and wine list plus a japanese-focussed spirits and liqueurs selection that is tailor made to the food.
H. B.
Went to yoko four weeks ago and I’ve already been there three times they have lovely food and great atmosphere and the service is always so lovely
D. H.
From the moment we entered 10 minutes early it was so professional we were seated promptly, all of the service staff were amazing, congratulations on your professionalism guys. Food and drinks were ordered for a table of 7, everything was prompt, the young man who took our table was a magnificent server whom explained
everything to make our order easy, the food was beautiful, We have eaten all over the world and this was strong competition for anywhere...thank you for everything, your whole team is a credit to your business, well done...thankyou for making our wedding anniversary memorable.
J. B.
Love, love, love this restaurant. The food is amazing. If it's your first time, I'd recommend ordering the Izakaya, so many amazingly scrumptious things to try, and great value at $65 for so much food, you won't go home hungry. Great service and views too.
C. W.
Seriously one of the best restaurants in Brisbane. Each time I have been to Yoko the food blows my mind! Highly recommend
K. R.
the food here is amazing. we did the banquet and they were able to cater for all dietary requirements, substituting dishes where needed. my favourite was the tempura eggplant and mushroom rice bowl. only thing that could be better was that drinks took a long time to come out and the cocktails didn't have that wow factor. other than that friendly service and awesome food.
J. W.
We got the $80 banquet menu, and it was delicious. We found the sashimi, Wagyu beef and the mochi ice cream to be particularly good. The service was also fantastic, and the chef gave us 2 plates of gyoza on the house. The drinks are a little on the expensive side, but tasty and honestly the price is nothing out of the ordinary for the area. Personally, I found the serving size a little on the small side, even with the added gyoza, but the quality of the food was top notch.
R. G.
Great evening along the river. I recommend an early dinner booking so you can make the most of the sunset views. Enjoy a glass of louis roderer with some wallis lake oysters.
H. M. T.
Only our second time coming here for special occasions and it always has amazing food drinks, service, atmosphere, experience, location.
Always recommend going here to my friends and family!
G. S.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yoko for an amazing dining experience.
T. O.
Amazing food and drinks, slushie is so yum highly recommend, special shoutout to will and Charlie incredible fast service
J. M.
Incredible dining experience! The food is expensive but not without reason, some of the best ive ever eaten.
J. D.
I made a booking at Yoko for a ladies catch-up dinner. When we dined, I mentioned my dietary requirements. I was thrilled to know that there were tasty items that I could safely eat (without being unwell afterwards). Thanks for catering to my needs, and making it a wonderful experience for my sister in-law and I. I’ll be back!
S. A.
This is the second time I have been to Yoko and both times were amazing it is definitely one of our favourite restaurants now. The service and food is amazing and so well priced for what you’re getting. The staff are obviously very well trained as their knowledge is also very up to date. We will definitely be back!
J.
Food: okay - fusion Japanese but was not up to standard. The eggplant dish was too oily. The spicy pasta dish was too heavy so we didn’t want to finish the dish.
Service: the waitress recommended five to six dish between two people. She hassled us until we ordered five dish when we clearly said what we ordered was enough. She kept coming back to check up on us to order more food. We originally only wanted one shaved ice dessert dish but ended up also having one donut dish as she thought they were both nice. Be prepared to at least spend $70 per person.
Drinks: the yuze cocktail was too sour.
T. H.
Amazing food. Our server Jai was fantastic and gave us great menu advice and service. Would highly recommend eating here.
M. v.
Nice location and atmosphere. A la carte menu is good but give the ramen a miss.
T. F.
Came here for my 21st birthday dinner and had a fantastic experience! Georgia was an exceptional server and was so incredible. I am a coeliac and she took such care to ensure I had a completely safe meal. Highly recommended, delicious food and cocktails.
A. L.
Yoko offers a fantastic dining experience with magnificent story bridge views at the wharves. Have been on 3 occasions now and have not left hungry (banquet) or dissapointed. The staff are warm and friendly from the booking stage, to accomodating all our food and drinking needs on the evening. The cocktails are a delight! Thank you Yoko Team.
J. C.
Yoko Dining is superb! Our first place to book when we have a child free night. The food is always amazing, the service is always amazing and the location is pretty amazing too! Do yourself a favour and order the chicken karaage, edamame, Wagyu nigiri, chilled greens, grilled prawns and pork gyoza. The peach ice tea will put a spring in your step and the soft serve is the perfect way to end your Yoko Dining experience.
L. B.
My favourite place ❤️ Amazing food and amazing service. Spent Valentine’s Day and my birthday there. Atmosphere outside and upstairs is lovely.
K. L. C.
The charge for room temperature still water (as opposed to tap water) was a bit ridiculous, but the food and flavours were amazing!
S. C.
Excellent food and atmosphere, accomodating and friendly staff. Our new favorite Japanese in BNE
A. L.
Delicious Food! Will definitely come back and try more off the venue. The staff are fantastic too. Very attentive and lovely. Upstairs function room is a little noisy but a great restaurant in a brilliant location. Howard Smith Wharves precinct is fabulous. Definitely recommend to everyone. 🤩🤩
H. W.
The venue is beautiful, the food was absolutely incredible (go for a banquet!), and Georgie, our waitress, was absolutely amazing (as was the whole team) - she went above and beyond to look after us, check in, and answer any questions. Georgie and the team made what would have been a great dinner experience into an exceptional one. Will definitely be returning!
B. B.
Great food but found staff were mostly unavailable and unattentive.
A. K.
Food is average and over price. Ambiance is nice, staff are amazing and the cocktails are yummy.
A.
Food was good and service was superb💯 All thanks to Caleb, was really accommodating and provided us with his excellent customer service👍
Y. K.
Luke made our day amazing! Awesome food and awesome value on our package but it was really Luke who made it special 🥰
C. B.
Great dining experience - delicious food, fabulous drinks (loved the slushie) and a very friendly and helpful waiter - thanks Ben.
J. M.
What an a truly exceptional dining experience!
The presentation of the food is so beautiful, as if an artist was working on it! Just a Masterpiece, art on the plate!👌
And I have the privilege to know the chef- maestro Oscar! You are the best chef in Australia!
That effort you put on gyoza and presentation, is so attractive! It's not just a gyoza, it's- pretty Gyoza! 👌☺️
Thank you so much, Oscar, for such a wonderful experience to enjoy the real- art food!
PS. Highly recommended to start with 🔥 hot sake.😉
S. C.
Delicious food and decent sake options. Not the cheapest in town but worth a splurge.
J. L.
Love the butter prawn and wagyu scotch
M. K.
An amazing night all round with exceptional food and service. The team were really accomodating of my fiancé not eating red meat and they even adjusted the banquet menu for her, so we could all enjoy the banquet together. Amazing work! Thanks guys 10/10 🏆
J. B.
Took the team to dinner here and the food was fantastic, service was fantastic and they were very accommodating of diet restrictions for our gluten intolerant staff member. Great team and great venue!
I. C.
We have been coming regularly lately and tonight was a another amazing night, fantastic food as always but the service was incredible from our waiter Charlie tonight he was very attentive and very helpful/knowledgeable.
S. J.
Incredible food, service and great view. One of the best restaurants in Brisbane.
J. W.
We ordered the king fish, scallops, pork gyza, fish wings a chicken dish & the waygu steak and omg everything was amazing.
Also had a few cocktails & they where very tasty.
Service was a 10/10
Food was a 10/10
Can't wait to go back when I'm back in Brisbane.
A. B.
Food was great, but service was poor. Had attitude from a waitress when we arrived and then she over charged us when we left.
V. L.
Such a wonderful night at Yoko. The wait staff took such good care of us and chef and team provided delicious food and drinks. Highly recommend and will be back soon.
G. B.
We have to give a huge shout out to Georgia! We came here tonight with heaps of dietary requirements (mainly gluten free) and she made every single effort to check all the food with the Kitchen and was just a well rounded professional. We can't thank you enough for making our night so easy! The food was 10/10 too, but it felt like a bonus to accompany the amazing service we got tonight.
E. C.
Me and my partner have been in Yoko Restaurant almost 3 weeks ago, not for special occasion but it was stil a nice evening.
We were served by a waitress of Japanese origin, she was very knowledgeable about the contents of the food menu and really friendly too.
Delicious food.
The venue has a fancy style, at the same time so fresh.
I found it really cool.
I mention prices and deserts: prices maybe a bit hight, deserts menu unsatisfactory.
The second time I went back to Yoko for dinner, I couldn't get it because the line outside the venue :(
B. R.
Excellent atmosphere and ambiance. Great service and knowledgeable staff. Japanese fusion, with a view.
B. K.
Amazing dining experience both times I have been. Have dined both in a large group and also just as a couple. The set menus are the most amazing value - you really do get so much food. I also have dined without set menu and still was just as impressed. Everyone that worked there is so friendly as well, makes for a lovely experience.
T. W.
Food was exceptional. We would have stayed and continued to graze with more cocktails but our 2 hour time limit was up. Will definitely go back to try more on the menu!! Only thing is that 2 hours in a group setting on a Saturday night fly’s by and we didn’t even get a chance to order dessert.
C. W.
Food and atmosphere is incredible. Great vegan options which is such a pleasure to see. Service was amazing. Our server Indi was exceptional from start to finish and took extra care to make sure I was catered for in our group dining. Thank you Indi and Yoko Dining staff!!!
s.
It took 30 minutes after being sat down for someone to come and ask us if we wanted a drink and didn't end up getting extra cutlery as noone came down to the area we were sat. It was glarey from the sun outside but really dark inside the restaurant which made for a strange ambience. Food was as described on the menu and very tasty.
I would definitely recommend the karaage chicken, the assorted sashimi plate and the grilled prawns
B.
We had the banquet for lunch and it was outstanding.
Fast & friendly service too.
Do recommend.
T. P.
Food was amazing with view to match. Highly recommended and would definitely come back.
N. K.
I came here on a Saturday night while at a weekend conference. The atmosphere is lively yet intimate, suitable for groups or a date night and takes all the best elements of a traditional Japanese izakaya. The staff were very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful with suggestions. The food was incredible and arrived in a timely fashion. I would highly recommend the kingfish sashimi, Wakame salad, eggplant tempura, and a glass of Japanese whiskey to wash it down.
S. R.
I've lost count of how many times I've dined here now. Definitely one of the best restaurants in in Brisbane. Amazing service & food every time

Delicious food. We stuck to raw dishes and salads and all were presented beautifully. Only dish that was a little off was the eggplant. A little too restrained on the seasoning here.
The real star of the show was the waitress in the front section, with glasses. She was perfect - a real asset to your business! All staff that touched our table were delightful also.
Thanks team!

I have been wanting to come here for a while now and it was amazing. Yoko surpassed my expectations. The service was great, the food and drinks were delicious. I highly recommend the gyoza, the potato and the eggplant.

Went to Yoko on Sunday evening to celebrate my birthday with a group of 24 people. Prior to the day I dealt with Marlon who helped me organise the large group and also the menu, I was very excited to try it out and wanted to try some particular items that weren't on the banquet packages. Marlon helped me put together a menu of my chosen dishes and estimate how many were needed for the group. He also ensure my guests with dietary requirements were looked after. On the night they gave us our own private dining area and a staff member (unfortunately I can't remember his name) but he was amazing. Looked after our group and made the evening amazing. Working in the hospitality industry I know what it's like sometimes with big groups, and I am very happy I chose to book at YOKO. The food was delicious, the drinks amazing and the service was perfect. Thank you!

Beautiful food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. They even accommodated us when we wanted to sit outside for dessert.
B. B.
Great dining experience. Staff were helpful in advance to get us seated earlier than our booking time, calling to offer two alternate time slots. Service was excellent. Food delicious. We over ordered but we just really struggled to choose! Not the cheapest but I would say worth the price with with experience and great location. Was our second visit and will return again and recommend to friends.

We went today and ordered the 85 menu - we were totally stuffed and the food was literally 10/10 we are so impressed - so much food ! Best service we had for years - thank u for our amazing anniversary lunch : see u soon (prob next week it’s that good)

We’ve just concluded an amazing dinner experience at Yoko dining. My girlfriend unfortunately battles several food intolerances including fructose, dairy and gluten which can sometimes be tricky and for her to navigate when we eat out. Apart from the food being delicious, we were all taken back by the incredible service provided by a young waitress named Annabel. Not only did she help my girlfriend feel comfortable about these intolerances but immediately sprung to action. We were initially unsure which dishes my girlfriend (Jess) was able to eat and which ones could and couldn’t be altered to be safe to eat. Annabel approached the chefs and returned having marked every single dish on the menu according to which items Jess could eat, and which could be altered to suit. This alone far surpassed any service or assistance Jess or myself have ever experienced when dining. In addition, Annabel was incredible attentive, having noted my father was only having water she was quick to ensure his glass was never empty. For the remainder of the night all three of us couldn’t say enough good things about the service an about how people like Annabel need to be in management, and every hospitality business needs more people like her. This experience has a set a new benchmark for customers service for us. Keep it up the good work Annabel!

Food was fantastic as usual, service was always outstanding. One of our favourite restaurants for sure!
A. A.
Easily one of my favourite places to dine in Brisbane. Delicious Japanese fusion - the sashimi is divine, miso soup, soft shell crab... *drool* in a great location and with excellent service.
K. J.
Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere and amazing food. Some good vegan options and our waitress Indi went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. Definitely would recommend!!
D. N.
The food was pretty good, we had the banquet for two which had a tasty variety of food, but way too much food. Especially when it took nearly 3 hours to receive all our food and they forgot our dietary requirements despite asking us if we had any. Nice spot by the river but would definitely try elsewhere before returning here.
A. B.
Great outlook and space, service was ok. We had the banquet, all the food was a little oily but impeccable otherwise until the main. The hero dish, sansho chicken was a huge let down. Service response to this unfortunately ruined what was turning out to be an amazing meal.
a.
Good spot, good service and good food. Atmosphere is nice, sat inside and want to try sitting outside next time. Highly recommend the raw ocean trout dish. Didn't do a set menu and ordered what we wanted off the menu, left very full. Considering how much food and drinks we had, feel it was reasonably priced.
E. L.
Incredible food, lovely servers. Don’t forget to order sashimi and nigiri which are best of best here.
I. T.
I wish I could give 10 stars! I had my 27th birthday here with about 20 people, we are all pretty fussy people with food and service, and we all agreed that it's probably the best service we have received in a long time! The banquet was also amazing, they can be seriously be hit and miss sometimes, but the chicken dish, Zucchini dish and Japanese pasta was to die for. Nick was also fantastic, he seriously made the experience so memorable, he deserves a payrise haha! Everyone needs to have their birthday lunches here!
S. W.
Food was awesome and our waiter Jai was amazing and very informative on the menu. Worth a visit for sure !
L. G.
The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Definitely will be going back.

Yoko is a modern Japanese experience which will leave your tastebuds satisfied. With a stylish interior and quirky details, I felt like I had discovered a fantastic restaurant down an unknown alleyway in Japan. Exceptional service follows throughout the meal, which was made up of miso tempura eggplant, chicken karaage, tuna tataki and pork gyoza. Rich with flavour and presented beautifully, each dish was fantastic, with everyone eager to sample the next offering. One exception was the spicy Japanese Bolognese, which looked amazing, but the flavours seemed a little muddled. The staff were attentive and well versed in the menu, yet seemed to be a bit frazzled elsewhere in the restaurant. Overall, Yoko was a fresh, exciting experience with a great respect for Japanese cuisine and an even greater one for customer service.
K. C.
A late lunch on a Saturday and it was super busy! Food and service were good. We ordered the Izakaya Set which is a sharing style menu... large plates in the middle of the table to share but we were not given serving utensils. Unfortunately, this is not compliant with the covid safe requirements restaurants must adhere to... it didn't bother us though, we all dug in with our own chopsticks anyway but something to keep in mind if you're being extra cautious.
D.
Really memorable experience. Food, drinks and service were all high standard 👌🏾
A. L.
By far my favourite restaurant in Brisbane. The food is always amazing and the services is great!
I can’t wait to go back again!
M. T.
The view from here is breathtaking, the colours of the Storey Bridge, the city skyline, the river view as far as kangaroo point. The city Cat and Kitty cat gracefully pass by the river. My favorites are Miso glazed eggplant, soft shell crab temaki ,
Teriyaki Kingfish collar,Konaki for dessert, are you die for. Fast service with friendly server. They also cater for take-away in a lower price than sit in, with a view like this who needs a takeaway
J. R.
Overall great experience. Good vibe, food and drinks. Recommend for a night out!
D. L.
awesome food, atmosphere and great service. had an awkward chinese new year/brothers 50th birthday dinner amongst a crowd of valentines couples. our parents who are traditional and very picky asian 75yr olds loved the food. need i say more?
grilled prawns, sansho chicken, aburi scallop were the winners for tonight. slushi and super smooth dewazakura dewasansan sake for drinks.
J. G.
Had a great valentines lunch here. Food is good and obviously the view from outside is fantastic. Book for an outside table if possible. Would recommend the gyoza!
b. J.
Nice atmosphere, stunning river view, food was delicious, definitely need to try cocktail and dessert there, one of the best! professional and friendly staff, especially the front desk staff, when we asked him to do a photo for us, he took us to a nice spot and took very nice photos for us. I am happy Brisbane finally has a romantic asian restaurant with nice view.
H. H.
Excellent food with great service! All the dishes were delicious and the waitress who served us was brilliant and attentive. Will definitely be back!
J. S.
By far the best Japanese restaurant we have found!
Amazing food, great selection of drinks, beautiful atmosphere
Will definitely be back :)
Q. T.
Great customer service, amazing tasting food, great drinks list. Super yum! Been here a few times now. We always bring friends or our family from overseas
C. C.
Food amazing. Services average.
Sashimi was fantastic.
Wagu beef the same.
Services was a bit disorganised. People sat before us. Table 20minutes late. Food going to the wrong table. I’m sure it’s because they were very busy, but for the money, service should have been better.
h.
Very cool place. Food was very nicely done and presented.
V. L. P.
Picturesque venue down on the river, great drinks & good food that was beautifully presented.
A. S.
We went with the Yoko Feast and it was tasty. Slight problem was the first set of courses came out super quick and we found ourselves under pressure to keep going. Food was amazing, and our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
J. K.
Fun place, good food and amazing ambiance and views. A nice and accessible menu - classic but not extraordinary. Very good for a nice family dinner or group of friends.
b.
Great cocktails, excellent staff yet another great edition to Howard Smith Wharves
P. D.
Beautiful location and excellent floor staff. The food was good but not great. We had a very pleasant evening but at these prices I feel the menu offering needs to step up a bit.
M. W.
Amazing lunch at Yoko, great services and even better food . Crispest chicken 🐔 😋, looking forward to going back again.

We came for dinner last night and was possibly one of the best meals we have ever had!! The wagu steak was beyond amazing. The staff were fabulous too. Will def be back!!!
F. C.
Really enjoyed our lunch there, would come back again!
A. H.
Great service. Food was slightly expensive for the quality but otherwise a really nice vibe.
K. M.
Fabulous venue! Food and service are both excellent. #lunchinglovelies
F. M.
Amazing experience! We were taken care of my Georgia and Connor who made sure to check on us constantly and made the time here all the better! Thank you to Georgia for taking care of my celiac friend, we appreciate your help so much and will be back in a few weeks!
L.
Love the food, always so fresh and even better than the food are the staff, you can guarantee to be well looked after by friendly, skilled staff.
V. T.
Great atmosphere, the dinner for 2 sets are simply delicious, do allocate 2-2.5 hours as the time here is nice and chilling , would highly recommend to come with luv ones or friends :)

Fantastic fresh Japanese cuisine. Wonderful views and ambience. Great service. Great value for money.
Highly recommended

Reading through some of these reviews, I have to wonder whether it’s the same restaurant I visited! Been to Yoko on a number of occasions, it’s currently my favourite restaurant at Howard Smith Wharves. The Wagyu intercostal dish is the must-order, but perhaps needs a name change as many mistaken it for some sort of offal (its the rib finger cut - fatty and full of juicy flavour).
Other dishes I enjoyed - toasted rice with spanner crab, soba noodle salad (for those who appreciate a tart note), edamame (I dont usually order this anywhere else but it’s grilled and seasoned here), mushroom gyozas, katsu baos. Desserts aren’t terribly exciting, so hopefully some winners will be added to the menu soon.
Service has been on point every time - attentive, knowledgeable but not overbearing. I usually order the Yoko rose, really can’t complain for $10 a glass. But for those commenting on price.. hopefully you are comparing with restaurants offering the same standard of magnificent views! You’re dining at Brisbane’s premier dining precinct, expect to pay more... having said that, I feel Yoko is the most reasonably priced option at HSW balancing food and ambience.
D. L.
Great food, great service, great tunes, wine list could do with a bit of work.
A. L.
Great service! Cocktails and food was really nice. Also a really nice atmosphere.
T. R.
Amazing food and service. The lady that was looking after us even went as far as to let us know where to get the sake we tried and loved. Highly recommend the tuna sashimi and the agedashi tofu. We will be back!
M. B.
Lovely cocktails. Traditional izakaya menu but done to perfection. Enjoyed the miso caramel doughnuts. Delightful service even on a rather busy Saturday evening. Gorgeous views. Will return !!!
N. G.
Excellent service and amazing food, the whole experience and service provided is second to none.
Thanks everyone at Yoko for making our special occasion memorable.
D. C.
Sat outside on a tuesday night for dinner. Beautiful view and great atmosphere.
Food was excellent, edamame, dumplings, chicken, eggplant. Desserts were also a winner.
The service was absolutely outstanding. All the staff were attentive and helpful. They made it the perfect night.
S. R.
Amazing service from the waiters, super helpful with advice and recommendations from the menu, the food was perfect and sashimi was fresh, wonderful atmosphere, 10/10 recommend Yoko for any lunch or dinner plans
B. B.
Food was super tasty. Service was 👏 brilliant. Drinks EXPENSIVE!
s. t.
amazing place to go, wonderful food and incredible service
thanks to Charlie for his recommendations and outstanding service, could not fault a thing and thanks to Georgia for getting us a table last minute
C. C.
It was just ok. Service and food ok, the price was expensive and could have been better.
P. T.
What a Fantastic restaurant, great food, great service and great atmosphere, see you soon again!
M. G.
While the food was delicious the value for money for the banquet is poor. You shouldn't work out of a restaurant after spending $65 on food and more for drinks and still be hungry. Quite a contrast when Greca next door has a banquet at the same cost but you struggle to finish the food.
K. M.
Rachel is the best server I’ve ever had!
B. R.
Fabulous food, great staff and a wonderful experience. I can highly recommend the eggplant rolls.
T. P.
Great venue. Staff, service and food all exceptional.
p. h.
Wonderful experience and ambience. The staff were really accommodating and catered a full vegetarian meal. The food is delicious.
C. M.
The vegetarian banquet was phoneminal and loved the Yuzu passionfruit cocktails 🥰
~ edit: forgot to mention the staff were highly professional and super attentive! They did a really great job!
J. W.
Good location, great food. Traditional Japanese flavours with a mix of Aussie dishes. Outlooks the Brisbane River, city, and Story Bridge.
B. “. S. M.
Average menu and lacked flavor good staff
R. W.
Overall was good. The spicy pineapple dish was a bit weird. Highly recommend the miso-glazed eggplant.
A. L.
The food was divine, the staff highly knowledgeable and the ambience was great, I cannot fault a single thing about the night. Thank you.
M.
Service was fast! Food was served nearly as soon as we were sat down. Everything came out hot and the favourite for our group was the wagu intercostal. Weill definitely be back again.
R. G.
Great service and the food is sooooo TASTY, have been back so many times!
K. H.
Great food, great venue, great service - Love!
W. H.
Staff were both friendly and efficient. We didn't know what to expect with food but it was quite good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere is fabulous looking up to the Story Bridge from the outside dining area
P. G.
Great food, great location, great service. See you next time !!
A. D.
Food was delicious! They were very accommodating of our group of 12. Drinks were nice and overall bill wasn’t too expensive considering how much we ate.
Will be back
B. T.
Fantastic service, yum food. Recommend for a special occasion
S. L.
The best, amazing food, courteous & knowledgeable staff, great views.
E. P.
The service here was exceptional. We walked in with no booking due to poor service elsewhere and we were seated and looked after incredibly well. Would recommend highly. Beautiful food.
Y. H.
Yet another Japanese food for white people place. The environment is very nice and clean, but the food is below average. Sashimi is unfresh and fishy, the wasabi is a factory paste rather than real ones, quite unexpected given that we are in Queensland and the dish was 42dollars. Also it's time for this restaurant to get some new water jugs, there is visible rust in the metal jugs.
Z. K.
Great cocktails. Food below average. Agree with a similar sentiment reflected by fellow patronage’s, I would enjoy this place as a bar, but a restaurant might be too much for this struggling kitchen.
w. c.
Wow that was truly an excellent meal. If you've got time go for the yoko feast. Great crew and a relaxed dining experience.
A. G.
Delicious food. However slightly too pricey for what was on offer (real small portion sizes). Drinks felt like somewhat of a rip-off as well... they where tiny with not much alcohol (cocktails).
G. F.
Great dining experience with lovely staff, delicious food and cosy atmosphere. Will be dining back again soon!
R. B.
I was in QLD for a short week and tried as many restaurants as possible. Yoko stood out to be the best by far!
A. C.
The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the drinks were good, they were the saving grace. Food was below average, I've had better Japanese from my local sushi place.
S. H.
Had such a great night at yoko last night! Great food and atmosphere and our server was AMAZING
B. “. S.
This place serves up some really fine food with plenty of share plates on offer. Friendly and attentive service with a relaxed waterfront setting makes this a go to spot for a weekend catch up with friends. Enjoy! 😊
N. S.

This place is great! It’s super cool and casual, not high end and stuffy. Food was delicious. Particularly recommend the baos. Great cocktails too and fantastic location.
n. k.
The food was AMAZING, the staff were lovely and the space was great. Would definitely go back
I.
Delicious food and really great service - didnt feel rushed at all however noticing by the other reviews we must’ve been lucky to get a good server.
Quite pricey so won’t be back too often.
A. K.
Celebrated birthday over here. Staff were really nice and accommodating. Ordered a variety of dishes and not a single disappointing one. Will
S. S.
The food was modern and delicious. The menu is designed for sharing which we love. Beautiful location on the river and an upbeat atmosphere.
J.
I was high expected to visit, but the food was pretty average.
HOWEVER, the bridge view was perfect.
M. M.
On a very busy 29th Dec lunchtime we were given the best of service. The food is modern Japanese and it is the best. The Sashimi was excellent. Yum.
C. P.
Nothing more baller than having a water-side dinner.
Staff are friendly af.
Ocean trout, shaved ice-cream and the slushie is the bees knees.

Nice place, good service, great food, but make sure your wallet is full before you get there. $60 for 4 asahi 😳😳
J. B.
Absolutely sensational. Can't wait to go back again!
s. s.
Good location, staff, service, music I would recommend the pre planned food list they are well crafted.
S. D.
Unless you sit outside it’s like a nightclub cafe with heavy doof doof music smashing you the whole time. Not sure what part of the food was Japanese. Food was nice though but sit outside or skip it.
J. J.
Food was great but had to ask for the last of our mains as it had been forgotten... Luckily the company and atmosphere were both great!
I. L.
