Lovely evening I am open and modern restaurant adjacent to the reception of the new Midnight Hotel. The decor is modern with an emphasis on minimalist timber and concrete with a nice calm ambiance. Thankfully the background music was subtle and appropriate. The menu was excellent and we liked the two course/three course options. The food was all great, offered a good range of meat, fish and vegetarian options. The wine list was extensive and a bit pricey. The staff were very knowledgeable and suitably attentive - spacing between the courses a little long but not problematic. Certainly worth a visit and great for a group booking.

Booked the set menu for valentines day. I saw the 5 star reviews from new years eve diners when expectations are typically sky high. Excellent food and service from all of the staff, very consistent with other reviews. The outdoor seating was pleasant also.

Date of visit: November 2020 We had an overall enjoyable experience here with pretty good food (we ordered the 3 course meal) in a relaxed setting. We wanted to like this place more but it fell short in a number of respects, relating to service. It took forever for them to take our orders and to deliver our cocktails - it was generally difficult to get anyone's attention. It was evident that they were too busy fiddling around with silly wine bottle gadgetry more than plain old good service. We would be happy to try Braddon Merchant again in the future, but they need to focus on getting some basics right.

Stayed at the Midnight hotel and was gifted free breakfast for being a Platinum member. Pan seared haloumi with poached eggs dish was fantastic, as were the Belgian waffles. Will come back again to try their dinner servings.

This is definitely my new favourate breakfast in Canberra by a long shot.. Simple quality ingredients with right mix of style, balance of textures and flavours. The smoked trout is to die for...Definitely recommend this place. Nice relaxed atmosphere with great service.

First night in Braddon included a fantastic dinner here. Menu has good selection of vegetarian friendly dishes, and an excellent wine list. We had the casarecce pumpkin pasta and the Li Sun King mushroom with millet and spring onions. Both fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is light and modern, and the service led by manager Genessis Sierra is attentive and very friendly. We’ll definitely be back many times. Been back again. This time for breakfast. Excellent again. I recommend the haloumi, smashed peas and poached eggs.

Without doubt the best food I’ve had in Canberra in my 8 months here. Have dined in many of the other good restaurants here, however last nights food was certainly a level above. Clearly great care and consideration is taken curating the menu and it shows in the production. We had the share tasting menu with wine pairing which delivered on every front. Me and my partner are both pescatarian which meant the menu had to be altered to accommodate that requirement. But make no mistake the standard of what we were served was still exceptional. The service was also fantastic to boot, staff extremely personable which adds to the experience.

Hidden gem is the first phrase to come to mind. Every time we’ve come here we have had exquisite food, AMAZING service and wonderful wine. The bar and the restaurant are both fabulous - do yourself a favour and give either a try!

At short notice the team gave excellent dish recommendations, knowledgeable wine pairings and really personable, attentive service which you often don’t get even at the most expensive restaurants nowadays.
