This place offers a friendly and quite intimate dining experience. The interior feels and looks vibrant, and dynamic, with a colour palette that engenders a sense of opulence. The staff are well presented and always check at the right moment to make sure your dining experience is going well. They also splash a little humour into their interactions just to give you a giggle here and there. Good fun! Like the venue and staff, the food doesn't disappoint. Our group had the banquet option and it was more than enough to feed the eight of us. The variety of dishes was broad, as were the flavours and textures; and all cooked to our tastes. One of our party was vegan and the food put in front of them couldn't be faulted either. Portion sizes were good and everyone got to try what they wanted. Nothing ran out. If fine dining and Asian cuisine are your thing, get yourself a table here tout-suite.

A bit disappointed with this place. For the tasting menu price, the flavours were average for me, and portion sizes on the smaller side. Forgettable meal. In picture: Siu mei platter, prawn and scallop toast and spanner crab with kohlrabi.

My wife and I booked late on the day and got a table. Service was knowledgeable and attentive without getting in the way. Had tasting plate and duck / pork belly main. Whole meal close to the best meal I have had in Australia. Could not pick fault with anything. It is not cheap but not over the top and given quality of our dining experience good value. I could not fault anything at all about our dining experience last night. Elegant, modern decor; soft furnishings to absorb any noise; music at a perfect pitch, intimate and friendly. We chose the tasting menu with fish of the day. Everything was superb and delicious. The entrees were beautifully presented and explained. Tasty little morsels of joy. Chairman and Yip is in my top three of 60 years of dining experiences.

Service was friendly although a bit insincere, and feeling quite rushed - waiting staff constantly offered to remove share plates that still had food on it, understandable, except that there were people in the group still eating. Great wine list. Food good but no wow factor, nor were they photo worthy. Feels more like an expensive canteen rather than the fine dining restaurant it once was.

Had an excellent meal last night. We did the $75/head Christmas menu and portions were very generous, varied and tasty. The service was also attentive and consistent without being intrusive- some of the best I've had in Canberra. As we were the last sitting were able to linger a bit longer which was nice given the (understandable) reduced sitting times due to COVID. Highly recommend.

We were waited by Derrick, and he made sure we had a perfect evening. Our night had highs and lows, but the reliable constant was the outstanding service from Derrick and the staff, and the delicious food they provided. They were more than welcoming for my little sister who is vego, and were gracious enough to even let us take a photo with the delightful team. Really great people, and great place.

Chairman and Yip are arguably the best Asian restaurant in Canberra. They are worthy of a chef's hat and I'm sure they will regain this recognition in 2022. It was a shame they lost their hat in 2021.

This restaurant is the highlight of the trip to Canberra. We had the tasting menu ($88 per pax). Every dish was a delight, the taste was just divine. And from the restaurant manager down to every single wait staff, everyone was friendly and ready to help. Can't recommend this place enough!

I was here for dinner with a large group. Firstly, they made the booking process extremely easy and were very accommodating to our needs and dietary requirements. The food itself was exceptional! It was a modern inspired Chinese restaurant. It provided complex flavours and an extremely filling meal. The service from the restaurant is also highly reccommendeable. Each waiter was knowledgeable, patient and very professional. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

As a Chinese, I'm always apprehensive when it comes to decadent Chinese food as it may be altered so much that it's no longer suitable for native Chinese. Owh boy was I surprised, the food way amazing. Using flavors that was familiar to create new combinations is pure genius. Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.

Got takeaway banquet and it was a taste explosion. They were nice enough to sub the lamb for the pork with ginger sweet dark vinegar and that really made the night for my kids!! Great portions, can't fault it especially for takeaway.

A fine dining experience but I cannot give it 5 stars as it lacked that special something to make a memorable meal. It is not the institution that it once was... however it is nonetheless a place to experience a delicious Asian themed menu with a very good selection of wines. The interior also has very good acoustics, allowing for easy conversation.

Food was very tasty, but a bit heavy on the meat and minimal vegetables to balance. Although we'd described food limitations on booking had to go through them again. Wait staff were attentive, but we were all a bit horrified when obviously new waiter was just completely sidelined by main waiter - seemed quite humiliating. And so disappointing to be given a plastic straw! Don't expect a fine dining restaurant to be languishing in that way. Food was good, but I think somehow not the experience it used to be.

Amazing 😊 My new favourite fine dining restaurant. The food was very delicious and filling, we had the 8 course meal and each was delicious. Well mannered and attentive friendly service. Great atmosphere and well deocrated. A great place to dine and relax and not too noisy despite how busy it is. High recommended.

The location is wonderful, being secluded yet easily accessible. The atmosphere is wonderfully relaxing and inviting with the staff managing the table very well. The food was amazing. We had the staff select the food for us and they truly delivered across six dishes. The servings were perfectly sized and the flavours were amazing. It was the perfect venue for an end of year lunch, and would certainly go there again.

Not really sure what to expect. I booked for two for my mom's birthday, and we both thought it was a good meal. The food was good and well presented, but there were some parts that not perfect. About food: Sushi - the fish on the top was good but I don't like rice texture as it tastes a bit sticky to each other. Dashi gazpacho - this was great. No complains at all. cha-siu - The pork doesn't seem to be seasoned enough? Plus, they were cut too big for each piece. duck pancake - usually the duck pancake used crispy fatty duck skin - not duck meat. steamed seafood - a plate of steamed seafood that I think I can easily do it at home. It is more like a home made dish rather than a fine dining standard food. lamb belly - This is great so no comment. Dessert of the day - oh dessert was so amazing and never tried that thing before. It has an ice cream with hot black sticky rice in the bottom, the combination was amazing. Some doubts about the food: Those food were all good, but they always gave me the feeling that they were made with prepared food rather than a chef doing it. About service: When booking, I asked if they can have a birthday cake for celebration but they told me they couldn't do that and require $3 pp if I bring cake outside. Their reaction is a bit disappointing. The staff was kind and helpful but not too professional. I asked for taking away and indicated for several times but none of the staff noticed my sign and I have to approach them to finish my request. They certainly didn't observe customers. To summarise the experience, it was good but just not worth the money. With the money I paid, I certainly expected more. Probably won't visit for the second time.

A fantastic experience the moment you walk in the restaurant. The wait staff were very attentive and very welcoming. They were always looking to ensure your glass was full the whole evening. This resturant is worth four stars easily. I stayed at a local hotel that did not have room service and headed out for dinner. I didn't have a booking but they were more than happy to accommodate me. The decor is intimate with low lighting that instantly relaxes you, and although it was busy, it is not overly loud due to the table set up. I was a little cold at my table and I requested to be moved. Again they were more than happy to accommodate me. I ordered the duck and mushroom pancakes that were lovley. My waiter was outstanding and recommended wine and described the main dish that I ordered. The main was a beef and scallop hotpot. While the beef was perfectly cooked and the scallops were very nice it was the mushrooms that were outstanding in this dish. The dish comes with rice but not a over the top amount that other resturants seem to do. My waiter was one of the best I've had and was not only knowledgeable but also not overly attentaive. He recommeded a wine for each dish and one glass was even complimentary. A nice touch is that there are books that can be read at the tables. Bravo chairman and yip. Bravo.

We had a 6-course degustation, and it was very good. Amongst the dishes, Shantung Lamb is a favourite of mine; and this one was well prepared, with a nicely balanced sauce that worked will with the rich, crispy lamb. Priced for quality rather than value, but a delicious dining option.

There was definitely enough food provided, these are not small portions, so you get what you pay for. With both a starter and main, we failed to make desert, which was a shame as it looked very good.
