Corella is a fantastic experience… a fun restaurant with local and Australian flavours. The menu is creative and draws on indigenous ingredients!
The pate, steak and fish are a must… there is a great wine collection and the cocktails to totally enjoy! A great experience!!!!

When not particularly happy with a nearby cafe that was considered one of the best in Braddon, some friends and I thought Corella looked clean and modern and we were fortunate enough to get a table for 3 inside. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating and quite an extensive bar which included some well known Australian spirits. I tried the ‘native negroni’ which was interesting (I still prefer the classic) and we all had a delicious stuffed zucchini flower each and 2 bowls of scrumptious fries. The staff were very polite and friendly. I am looking forward to going back for a more substantial meal. 🍹😊

Went to to Corella for a birthday dinner which is a set menu on Friday & Saturday’s. The set menu is $90pp, which definitely is on the upper range for Canberra. They offer a number of sides which were all delicious. I especially liked the chicken liver parfait which was crispy and velvety smooth. For mains there were 3 choices, so we opted for a double serving of hanger steak for our party size. The mains were all delicious however the portions were too small. The beans (which should’ve been brocollini according to the menu) were cooked just right and had a nice XO like flavour. The dessert was also quite well balanced. The staff were friendly and quite professional but could’ve been more attentive. I did like the cozy modern vibes of the restaurant and might be back when the menu changes.

First time at Corella on Friday evening, the carpaccio and the steak were superb, staff were excellent. Really enjoyed the set menu and range of dishes. Just a great night all round. Will definitely back for another set menu and to try the cocktails!

Instantly became one of my favourites spots to dine in Canberra!
Great staff first of all, everyone was friendly and we had a wonderful night/dining experience. Joel made some pretty fantastic cocktails. Brady, Patricia, and all the staff are phenomenal.
Food was exquisite, explosion of flavours and great use of native ingredients. The photos are poor as we were so busy enjoying the food!
Will be back soon :)

I recommend this place for anyone wanting to try modern Australian food with a native twist. The food is very unique and yummy!! The native ingredients are accents rather than the main part of the meal. They have good vegetarian options but the meat dishes looked more enticing. Good, not great, service.
Go here if you:
* Like a casual romantic setting
* Enjoy your drinks and enjoy watching them getting made
* Are vegetarian/ vegan
* Want to try new ingredients.
I didn't give the place 5 stars for the following reasons:
*$$ for small serves. Entire menu is better off as small share plates. The "meals" don't seem that satiating. The marron is $50 but very small. The $45pp vegetarian set menu is shared between 2 people ( $90 for 2). It's quite small so go for the larger one, if possible. The most filling dishes are chips and pasta which is boring.
* Bit crowded. They have maximised the space to fit as many tables as possible.
* The food is not super wow, but it's up there. I give it 4.5/ 5. For example, there was too much spice rub on the lamb ribs. I was bored of the roasted carrots, it has same puffed corn/pepitas/ honey iteration I see on all menus these days. Eg Akiba's miso eggplant is very similar. But that's getting to the pointier end of critique.

We dined in on Valentine’s Day, and much to our delight enjoyed absolutely everything. The food was beautiful, the atmosphere fantastic and the wine was outstanding. Corella’s set menus provide excellent value and their customer service is fantastic. Definitely visiting again.

Date visited 27/06/21
As a two-month new restaurant,Corealla indeed did a great job.
9/10
Entree
Lamb rib 14$each
The texture is so so so tender. The percentage of fat and flesh are just right. My partner loves it and said this was the best ribs he has ever had. “Only recommendation I have is to order more than one”
Chicken liver on Brioche 9$each
Literally one of the best dish I have ever had. I have all kinds of organs including chicken liver. The way they made chicken liver is so impressive. Chicken Liver Parfait was starting to melt as soon as it came in my mouth.
Only downside is they put two separate entree on the same plate which can be ignored given their amazing taste.
Small Share Main
Cured Kingfish 41$
A very ordinary dish. Taste exactly what you will expect. Avoid unless you are really into raw Kingfish.
Big Main
WA Marron 50$
(According to waiter it crossed between lobster and bug) Marron is very fresh, should be flown from WA?) But it was shockingly small. The whole shrimp was about the length of my little finger and about the width of my little finger. They stated for share but its better only for yourself given the extreme small portion.
Flank Steak 41$
Yummmmmm! They didn't ask us how cooked we wanted it to be. I reckon it was between medium rare and rare. The beef flavor fills the whole mouth, and the texture is just right, not too hard or too soft. Be sure to cut into small pieces so that you can savour the experience.
Dessert
Sticky date cake 16$
The set up of the plate is very nice and delicate. Rum ice cream is the finishing touch. Enough for share between 2 people. The texture was fabulous and incredible my partner said.
The service is little bot stretch, one extra person could make a big difference.

Four of us had a wonderful lunch at Corella today. The food is innovative and modern with beautiful flavours and the wine list included local wines which we enjoyed. The service was impeccable - thank you to all staff for a special experience. We would all highly recommend Corella.
S. L.
Really enjoyed my Sunday lunch! Can't wait for my next trip to Canberra!

We had a delicious and relaxing time at Corella last Saturday night. The set menu ($90) was excellent value and we thorough enjoyed every dish. The service was spot on. Attentive but not intrusive. We’ll be back!
S. V.
popped in for an early evening drink and had an exceptional time. prawn slider with chilli was amazing, which went perfectly with a glass of sancere. staff very accomodating and knowledgable. a real find in Braddon
E. V.
We ordered 2 x Falafel wraps from the deli menu Corella has put together to cope with lockdown. I thought the deli options all sounded delicious, with us both opting for the falafel choice. It was flavourful and fresh and ready for pick up right on time. It was warm when I picked it up, so knew it had been freshly made. It was an inexpensive, easy for me, and a delicious lunch that was a great addition to our socially distanced picnic.

This meal was a highlight on our recent holiday to Canberra. The food was fabulous and the service was brilliant. We are still talking about some of the dishes. Highly recommend.
T. M.
Excellent food and service. It was no trouble to cater for a vegan. They had on hand a vegan degustation menu which we enjoyed. From start to finish the food was delicious, and highlighted some of our Australian bush foods.
S. M.
Outstanding. Balance, flavour, atmosphere and consistently great service. Having sampled many fine dining experiences Canberra has to offer - tonight was an overwhelmingly refreshing experience. Well done and thank you!!!

I could not recommend a better restaurant for anyone looking to eat beautiful food, have some (or many) delicious cocktails and be treated to outstanding customer service. I have been to many places in Canberra, and this stood out for me, the great team that works there provides a very inviting environment which makes dining in an absolute treat. The place deserves 5 stars and I will definitely be a repeat customer.
R.
Fantastic food - we had the chicken liver brioche starter, straciatella, Murray cod, Hanger Steak, broccolini with njuda, and both desserts. It was all excellent, especially the steak. This is the kind of place you want to go for an elegant lunch or dinner with unique ingredients in a cosy space. Their cocktail menu is also interesting and innovative, especially the Shapington which tastes like a liquid lamington. Very happy with our dining experience.
L. m.
We had a wonderful night, the food was fresh, creative and delicious. A small but interesting wine list with excellent variety and balance. Topped off by friendly, efficient service. We will definitely be back soon :)
S. L.
The food was amazing and the wines they suggested pairing with were also incredible. Would definitely go back! Such a cool place. Staff were awesome. Best valentines day ever ❤️
C. G.
The steak was the standout! Really good fresh food with an open kitchen.
J. S.
Great new restaurant in Bradden. The staff are really attentive and friendly and the interior is modern yet intimate.
We basically had most items on the menu excluding desert plus two cocktails and two bottles of wine between 4. it worked out to be very reasonable at $120 per person.
I highly recommend booking here. The must tries are the zucchini flowers, chicken liver brioche, the cos lettuce dish and the monk fish !!!
Thanks again for a great meal and evening Corella
T.
A romantic dinner for two in a beautiful setting. Absolutely superb food on the set menu - variety, amazing taste combinations exquisitely presented. Service was warm and not intrusive, but guided us through the meal. Best night out in a very, very long time. Thank you!!
潘.
Amazing set menu, scallop and oysters look so cute and taste refreshing, perfect for starters. Mushroom risotto is very earthy and heartful, definitely 1st choice for windy autumn.
L. F.
This place is so worth it. Everything we had was absolutely to die for. Kingfish, perfect mix of flavour and texture, the stracciatelli was smooth and creamy (it’s like the inside of burrata cheese), the beef tartare was complex and had the best salt crisp things with them. The cocktails are very well made, with interesting options. There are no additives, substitutes or shortcuts taken here. Plus the service was excellent. I’d come back in an instant.
C. G.
Overall excellent food, drinks and service. Small pared-back industrial style restaurant handles noise well. Stracciatella dish a bit too heavy and sliced beef not warm enough. Otherwise very good.
O. M.
Warm, friendly staff... incredible food, cooked beautifully... fabulous menu featuring Australian natives. Possibly one of the best steaks I’ve ever had, and the dessert was to die for!
S. P.
Outstanding food, try as much of the menu as you think you can eat. Portions are modest but every single dish was knockout. Then there are the cocktails, mmm yum.
N. K.
Corella is one of those rare finds that you almost wish you could keep to yourself but you know it's too good to keep a secret. Beautifuly creative food, superb friendly service and short, but carefully crafted drink list. I thoroughly enjoy my birthday lunch yesterday, the hanger steak being one of the best I've ever head. Kudos to the chefs for their skills in using native ingredients. Simply brilliant!
C. R.
Really knowledgeable and passionate staff made this experience one I would return to when visiting Canberra. Food is beautiful and incorporates interesting native ingredients. The rosella tacos were amazing (and not made with rosella birds - rosella flowers!).
I. B.
Welcoming and chilled-out staff and waiters. It is a classy place but people were down-to-earth, helpful and made us feel at ease. Busy Friday night but our table was ready by 8.45pm or so. We picked the tasting menu ($70). chicken liver, seafood and dessert were top-notch. totally recommended. Dishes were delivered at the right pace and we were well looked after. I would suggest to book tables from 9pm onwards (bit too noisy/crowded before then). We will be back!
T. G.
Fantastic food, inventive and well presented. Friendly and attentive staff. A great vibe. Not up itself. Will be back when next in Canberra.
J. K.
Great ambience, very friendly and attentive staff, delicious modern Australian tapas - interesting wine list to match. Choice of a large carte and set menu.
J. D.
Great meal and really interesting wine list. Service was truly standout! Not sure about the Bundy in the old fashioned though.
a. e.
Celebrated a 50th birthday here on the weekend. Food and host were amazing and the drink suggestions to pair with our food were spot on. We had an amazing time there. Thank you.
D. y.
Amazing food and nice service, highly recommend Ranger’s valley black onyx flank steak. Thank you!
B. L.
Great low-key unobtrusive friendly service. Lovely food. The steak was exceptional. Will be back
A. S.
Delicious takeaway menu tonight, the beef cheeks were outstanding! All courses the quality you’d expect at a dine in experience. Well done in keeping it going through lockdown, and all in your first 6 months, fantastic effort team!
J. H.
The food at this restaurant was unbelievably good! Every dish on the NYE set menu was beautifully presented and was absolutely delicious!
S. H.
Lock down date night done right with Corella’s 3-course take out easy ordering, friendly on pick up & delicious, refined meal in the comfort of our own lounge room. A nice bottle of red, voila!
P. S.
Great staff. Pity that the "share" plates are still single serves with a share price.
But beautifully cooked and presented.
N. H.
Relaxed atmosphere. Good use of native ingredients. Chef's focus on getting the dishes balanced is clearly front of mind. Exceptionally talented! Great service and complimented by an eclectic wine list.
C. W.
We've never eaten in-person at Corella but we have had 2 different vegan set menus from Corella during lockdown.. both were utterly superb! Also great value for money at $50pp. My personal favourite dish was the Jerusalem artichoke pappardelle - delicious! I suspect we shall be buying from Corella again soon. Would highly recommend trying!
We are looking forward to coming in post-lockdown.
E. V.
My friends and I had lunch here. The food was really interesting and delicious! Great service. We were served a complimentary entree with our meal which was a really nice touch. Really nice atmosphere as well. Will definitely be back!
N. S.
Fantastic modern Australian food, delicious cocktails and brilliant knowledgeable staff. Not cheap but definitely worth treating yourself, worth every cent.
程.
Absolutely great experience, elegant tasty food and good service, set menu worth the price, recommend to everyone
K. R.
Outstanding! Service was really friendly, atmosphere is great and food and drinks were amazing. Every dish was great, I really could not choose a favourite! Can't wait to return to try the rest of the menu.
L. W.
Amazing food. Great service. Couldn’t fault it. Staff really know their wines and food and you can see their passion and enthusiasm. Thanks for a great night
J. S.
Was really looking forward to trying this place and it completely lived up to expectations. Could not fault anything- great food and service, and a great place to spend some time on a sunny winter afternoon. The stand out dishes for us were the marron, the prawn rolls and the Jerusalem artichoke pasta dish. Hope to be back again soon.
K. N.
One of the best restaurants in Canberra. The food is outstanding. The focus on native ingredients, delicious wines and warm ambience make it the perfect restaurant for all occasions. Thanks to the team for an awesome experience.
N. H.
Joel and the amazing staff at Corella made my day! The cocktails were incredible! Joel’s knowledge of the wines was amazing and I have never felt so at home or at ease than I have at this bar. Would recommend the Basil Zempalis cocktail and I would urge everyone to try this new place.
E. S.
Corella had a great vibe and the food was top quality. Will definitely be recommending it to friends and family.
C. A.
An amazing addition to Lonsdale St. The food is outstanding, particular shoutout to the Jerusalem artichoke pasta, as well as the beetroot entree! For any vegans out there, they have a ton of options (with a whole seperate vegan menu they can provide!) Joels cocktails are unreal, and aren’t overpowering when having them with your meal. With attentive service and a cozy interior, I can’t recommend Corella enough.
T. C.
Great new addition to Lonsdale St -- really worth the visit, and I'll be keen to see how Corella evolves.
I'd describe Corella as a modern Australian interpretation of the classic French bistro -- a fun place to visit with friends, nothing too formal, with some adventurous foods.
Tables for 2 are a little small, meaning orders tend to come out sequentially, which is not optimal when you want a few different tastes on the table.
Special mention: the duck a l'orange -- quite superb; so, too the carrots side
Wine list is quite short but very good.
All this AND Corella is open on Sunday nights. Recommended!
C. M.
Amazing food, worth every cent!!! Will recommend to all my friends and I will be definitely returning again.
D. N.
Amazing! The menu was perfectly balanced and full of native ingredients that fill the pallette with familiar Australian aromas and fresh tastes. Decor and vibe is comfortable and relaxing thanks to some key design choices and the excellent front of house staff.
Can recommend (everything we ate):
Parfait - the brioche melts in your mouth and the parfait tastes beautiful, nice hints of native salts.
Ribs - melts in your mouth with a native Australian rub that's to die for.
Duck - Cooked perfectly, meat was was so supple and tender, skin was perfectly crunchy and added
Marron - Elite. Had never tasted this particular crayfish before, Australia's lobster! So divine!
Amazing front of house experience, great level of friendliness and guidance on the food and wine without overdoing the detail.
Excited to visit again! 🇦🇺🇧🇦🇰🇷🇬🇧

Sadly underwhelming.... Menu was very interesting and our evening started off well. However over the duration of the evening the time between courses dragged on and on to the point of being uncomfortably long. When questioned about the delay the waitstaff didn't seem to care and sadly our mains came out cold. A disappointing experience for somewhere with such potential.
E. G.
Excellent food, great chef, the combination of ingredients makes the restaurant one of a kind, definitely will be back.
C. K.
Great experience, Fantastic customer service and the food was impeccable - would definitely go back again!
N. M.
Corella has done an amazing job pivoting during lockdown. The system, staff and menu are flawless - I can't wait to sit down there when we're able.
J.
Joel and the team were just amazing! Gorgeous cocktails, in particular the Native Negroni. Highly recommend & can’t wait to return next time we are in Canberra.
S. P.
Delicious, thoughtful food and excellent service. The dining room is small and beautiful, and we could hear our conversation easily. Definitely going back!
J. L.
prawn bun high suggested, i don't like stracciatella, murray cod just normal.
W. c.
Wonderful food and service, love to go back soon
J. B.
Lovely food and service. Needed to keep an eye on empty water and wine glasses
K. J.
Immaculate venue with a really nice vibe, food was outstanding and the service was some of the best service we've ever had! Highly recommend, the team at Corella do a brilliant job and are hospitality experts.
N.
Food was really nice and they also have a great wine selection.
