A lot of overhyped reviews on here but is definitely is a good restaurant: good service, tasty food and reasonable portion sizes. The menu is fairly concise and easy to order from. I forgot there were additional dessert options up the front in their display window.
3 caveats:
* They have an electronic ordering system, even for customers who are dining in. This makes ordering additional items a chore. If you want an extra drink, you have to go through the whole rigmarole of punching in your email and card details.
* Some dishes are dry, and need extra sauce. The steamed Barramundi was great, it was stuffed with a few tomatoes but more sauce or toppings would have been nice. Same with the pork belly dish - it was very dry. They did provide a vinegar dressing but what if you didn't want vinegar? I asked if they had chilli sauce or something like that, and they kindly provided fresh chili.
* I wouldn't take any vegetarian or vegan friends here. There are limited options for them.
I would like to visit again to try the authentic dishes, especially the desserts.

So far, best Filipino restaurant that I had eaten in Australia. Do order scramble!

This review is late but going to Canberra on a weekend from Sunday to Tuesday, I found we could only attend on a Sunday so I made it a priority to go there and made a booking - which is highly recommended.
So came on a Sunday and it’s really nice looking at the menu, it reminded me about all the filo dishes I always liked and had in Phillipines. We picked our food and I think we over ordered LOL but couldn’t help it, it was so yummy the food.
We of course ordeeed the filo bbq which they do really well. I also had their taho which was amazing and I don’t think I’ve seen this in any filo resturant here in sydney!? (Or I haven’t seen one yet) The halo halo was a good portion. Really enjoyed all the food I just wish I could eat more.
The great thing also is that I believe they change their specials on a weekly basis which helps add variety for you to choose!
I’ve made the decision that every time we go to Canberra we are visiting this place!!
Can’t wait till next time :)

Best food ever! Thanks for cooked it for us. Great flavours, colours... Remembering my home town. ❤️❤️

The best Filipino restaurant in Canberra! Many great dishes! I particularly loved the chicken barbecue skewers (one of the Signature dishes) Their menu are updated weekly so you get to try many different dishes. I also liked their stir fried vermicelli noodles and beef stew so much. Don’t miss their UBE drinks. The UBE latte (good for winter) and UBE shake (lovely for summer) are both great!
J. H. P.
Place that feels like home with weekly special dish and good service. However, after covid the food consistency a bit disappointing and less weekly special dish. Hopefully as we are returning to normal the place could pick up their game again so I could enjoy more Filipino dishes.
P. G.
Oh WOW!
I am a bit hard to please and a hard reviewer.
I have grown up with excellent meals from my brother, a chef, and my mother an excellent 'cook'.
My son and I had 3 dishes and garlic rice. I rate this place above 4 stars.
We did a takeaway order and the website was so easy.
I highly recommend the food.
I actually can't remember a better meal in Canberra bar one or two.

This is the first time that I've been to a Filipino restaurant. Very interesting food - we ordered the barramundi (superb!) , prawn and pumpkin, and pork belly. Great services - friendly staff members kept checking on whether things were going well with us. And amazing drinks - highly recommend the avocado thick milkshake (cold) and the purple yam latte (hot) !
T. V. (.
If they can do well with street food like this, imagine what it's like to dine in and experience the full meals served here. Definitely worth a try. Regards @fooderarri

The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is superb! The orders arrived quickly. A must stop if going to Canberra. If there is one thing i could suggest, please add more veggies in your menu.
J. R.
The food was great. However, the atmosphere is very loud and it can get hot being near the kitchen. This makes the dine in experience to be unpleasant. However, had the leftovers for lunch and it was quiet nice.
J. C.
We didn't expect it, but the best food we had while in Canberra, was this bangin filo feast at Lolo and Lola. Most of Canberra felt pretty quiet on a weekend evening, but this spot was paaaaaacked out with people of all ethnicities... So you already know it's gon be good!
We ordered almost half their menu and honestly wished we had the stomach space to try everything else because all their dishes were so delicious. Highlights for me were the chicken BBQ skewers -- juicy and beautifully glazed with a charcoal-smokey flavour, and the sinigang -- it had just the right amount of sourness to awaken all my senses.

Always a great experience at Lolo and Lola’s. Amazing and authentic food served with the hallmark Filipino hospitality! I love the concept of the weekly special dishes which means I can try something different every time I visit. It’s always busy for a reason so I’d recommend booking ahead :)

Went there purely to pick up HaloHalo ☺️. Was craving after seeing our Philippines holiday trip couple of years ago. It was a damn good Halo! Staff were super friendly and everything was handled in a Covid safe manner.
P. M.
The Best Filipino restaurant in Australia I have ever been! Tastes like home. Very tidy, friendly staff and prompt service. The food are all rich in flavors. I am amazed in how they were able to use Australian ingredients and still retain the Filipino flavours. I really really hope they branch out to Sydney.
S. D.
Good food and cheerful, friendly service. Give it a go! Does all Filipino cuisine have a heavy emphasis on PORK? No worries - it's great.
C.
Had a very nice prawn and pumpkin curry. The service was good. I was by nyself and had chosen the Ribs with bbq banana glaze, but they are served straight up with nothing else and there were no vegie or salad side dishes available. Didn't fancy just meat for dinner. I like the jar of sanitizer on every table.
P. Z.
We met at with friends for lunch at Lolo and Lola (Grandfather & Grand Mother). We had a lot to eat and all delicious. I particular eat the whole BBQ Pork Ribs - Outstanding!
D. L.
Lolo and Lola is definitely one of the most popular restaurants in Canberra. We came here on a Friday night for dinner. Firstly I must say the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had the famous crispy fried pork belly, and steamed barramundi. The pork belly was crackling and crunchy, though some pieces were too dry and tough to eat. The barramundi was cooked right but the flavours could have been more pronounced, as it really needed the garlic sauce to be tasty. The drinks were very sweet but the pandan cake was delicious. Overall a must try place for Filipino cuisine.
A. S.
My wife is originally from the Philippines and this is our favourite Filipino restaurant (we have tried a few in Sydney as well). We always try and stop by if we are in town. Excellent food, good value and a great atmosphere. Coming here makes us happy.

For the record, Lolo and Lola is our top pick among the best restaurants in Canberra. Lolo and Lola has already been a household name for the Filipinos in the capital (and also among locals). They serve sumptuous gourmet Filipino dishes that are truly outstanding. Our favourite (not just because my partner is an Ilocano) is the Bagnet. Their version of Bagnet is the best we've tried so far! Not to mention the other great dishes they serve such as the Kare-Kare, Chicken Barbeque Skewers and Sisig. We also love their classic drinks such as the Sago't Gulaman and the Calamansi Juice (which we often order at the same time) and their Ube Shake which is just heaven to taste (drink and dessert in one!) For the dessert, we are a fan of their Halo-Halo that is good for sharing (not served in a traditional tall glass but in a bowl instead), and also their Leche Flan which was so beautifully cooked (you know a Leche Flan is good if it is smooth, thick, and no bubbles within). They change their menus weekly (keeping only the favourites) so you'll surely get to choose a variety on your next visit. They also serve sumptuous baked goods and hot coffee, perfect for your breakfast and after dinner dessert. Most importantly, the people running the restaurant are just the friendliest — you won't only come back to the store because of the food they serve, but also for their service. Our all time favourite! Worth visiting if you are visiting Canberra.
k.
A well known Filipino restaurant in Australia’s heart. Staffs were very friendly and accomodating. I really love the hot sinigang na salmon as it was cold when we went there. The halo-halo is a must try and it was really a massive serving like good for 3-4 persons so be careful in ordering it.😁
N. B.
Amazing dishes! Authentic Filipino flavours, must try their ribs and sisig 😍
X. Z.
This eatery is iconic. Every dish is made with love even just with one bite. You can share with families, friends, or simply grab your own meal with 100/100satisfaction. Outstanding services, it’s almost heart warming sometimes just like their soups and stews. Sweet lovers should also try desserts from their bakery, they all taste like what your mom will bake for you in a relaxing afternoon. I’m not growing up eating Philippine food, but the whole restaurant makes me wanna come over and over again. Not to mention that they change menus every week so everything is seasonal! 10000000 /100 recommended;)
V. L.
Gem of the filo restaurants in Canberra. Two people dinner- two mains, two drinks and one dessert cost us $60. Yummy taste, good size and reasonable price. Definitely worth a try…
A.
Very pleasant and accommodating staffs. Good Filipino food and homemade desserts. A must try when you're in Canberra. Highly recommended!
S. N.
One of the best Filipino restaurants I've been in Australia. Food was amazing, vibe was welcoming. Overall, I was loved it and was impressed with the concept the owners arrived with.
J. N.
Love the food. And the people are nice, too!
A. J. E.
This is my fave Filo restaurant in Canberra! With a menu that changes weekly, there is always something new and exciting to come back to with each visit! The pastry chef also does an amazing job with switching up the variety of desserts on offer. Their friendly team always treats us like family the moment we walk through the door. Don't waste your time trying out any of the other Filo restaurants in the area.
J. M. G. D.
Lolo and Lola is indisputably one of the best family restaurants in Canberra. This restaurant in Watson serves up Filipino food, known for its bold flavours and hearty, indulgent textures. To go with our hot rice, we tried the crispy Bagnet, which is deep fried pork served with a salty sweet dipping sauce; the chicken barbecue, which is sweet barbeque sauce-marinated chicken skewers, best dipped in vinegar and eaten with hot rice, and the stew known as salmon sinigang, which features vegetables and salmon served in a piping hot tamarind broth. We finished it off with an ube cheesecake, whose cheesecake filling features purple yam and shredded cheese. Altogether, absolutely incredible. Highly recommended.
R. T.
Generous, I mean HUGE portion! Went with the boys earlier today and couldn't finish them all (we're big boys and big eaters). And I think they knew that would've happened, gave us 3 plastic containers free of charge. Lol. First time trying Filipino food and was an awesome, very authentic experience. Friendly staffs and more than reasonable prices are bonuses!! Must try spot in Canberra
A. M. A.
The food is amazing, gives you a real, refreshing taste of filo food! The only downside to this restaurant that I see is there small menu. Many of the main, popular Filipino dishes are available but having just a little bit more options could make a meal with friends or fam a FIESTA!!! Serving sizes are fulfilling, reminds me of home!!! <3
R.
Worth the drive down from Sydney with such great and attentive service to boot. Staff are very friendly and personable and I always leave with a full stomach and replenished (food) soul!
R. Z.
We have been to the place several times and was very happy with the taste of the dishes there. I like the Yum shake that is very colourful and the smell is so good. But one of our recent visits is not too satisfied that one of the dishes is a bit too sour. The owner was very nice and changed the dish for us and we appreciated that. Maybe we would try again in the future.
P. B.
It was our first time here and we absolutely LOVE it!
The food has legit pinoy taste, cooked absolutely beautiful! The ambiance and music are just perfect! The staff are very welcoming and bubbly!
We even came back the next day to grab the cake we ordered and to try their halo-halo.
We will surely be back here for more!🥰
———————————————————————————
Came back to this resto to try their other menu!!
It was indeed a happy tummy!🤩
R. R.
Lolo and Lola is a popular Filipino restaurant catering not only to Filo's like me but to a diverse multi-cultural race. Food is always great but the setback is the waiting period for us to be seated. It took more than 30 minutes for us to get a seat and another 30 minutes to have our orders to be served. They have an outdoor seating but nobody wants to sit there since it is not provided with any heating lamps that will somewhat neutralize the coldness of the winter season.
E. T.
Very good food. The service is second to none. The servings are very generous and youll definitely be full and coming back every week since the menu changes. Would definitely be back again.
R.
Generous servings and reasonable price point..and most importantly the best filipino tucker in town for years..Been travelling to canberra for this hey..I just wish there was more seating Kim.😅 Keep on keeping on..🙌🏽
D. G.
Mouth watering food and amazing friendly service. Loved the chicken BBQ, sisig, garlic rice, bagnet and bulalo. Made me miss the Philippines.
X. A.
Great food as always.
J. H.
Superb Filipino cusine. This place serves good comfort food like a Filipino grandma or grandpa makes it. Try the choletto or hot chocolate - it's so good as it's decadently thick and strong. Also the meals are priced really well with regular servings for those who want to try variety or platter sized servings for others who want more of their favorite dish. The menu including the desserts change every week, so it's never boring to eat there. My favorite dish is the bagnet or deep fried crispy Pork belly. To the owners Jay and Kim and their amazing and friendly staff congrats on a job well done!
M. F.
love this place!!! would deffinitely come backkkkk...the best sweet and amazing staffs❤
D. L.
I want to say this is possibly the best Filipino restaurant in Canberra but if truth be told this is probably the best restaurant in Canberra full stop! Service is always amazing with the wait staff going above and beyond. Facilities are always clean and tidy and the food is amazing to say the least. The menu rotates each week so it's always worth coming back to try something different. Seriously can't get enough of this place!
N. F.
Amazing service, and delicious food, as always! From this menu I especially loved the Sinigang na Salmon (salmon in tamarind-infused sour broth) and the Bicho Bicho (Filipino donut).
S. P.
Great food as always and friendly service. The best deserts in town.
D. D.
Favorite restaurant in Canberra !!! Every week they come up with something new on the menu: sisg, grilled pork belly. One of my exciting things is check their weekly new menu every Wednesday.
Highly highly recommend.
A hidden gem in waston !!!!
뚱.
Friendly staffs. great huge food. Two girls Can not finished. Definitely come back next time😘
S. L.
Such friendly staff and atmoshpere. Always great food. Love it every time we come. Such a delight to see different or the same things on the menu. 6 people well fed!!
E. S.
By far the best Filipino restaurant I have ever been in Australia and I have visited quite a few. This place was worth the drive from the CBD of Canberra for many reasons starting from the ample parking in the area, the friendly staff, service and the most important of all... food! I'm posting here the delicious halo-halo which was hugeeeee... Good for two or three people and their Adobo was to die for.
A must visit (at least for those craving for Filipino cuisine) when in Canberra.
M.
Filipino food that tastes as good as the Philippines some even better. To die for queso real sorbetes and ube cheesecake! Reasonable prices with hearty servings. Beautiful place and staff.
F. G.
Great Filipino food, Service was very good serving size was generous as well. One of the better Filipino restaurants in NSW
N. B. T.
Great food especially the sisig and bagnet!
Staff are really friendly too!
G. K.
What a great restaurant! Super friendly staff and amazing food! Thanks for a wonderful experience, see you again soon!
C. K.
Best phillippino food! They have weekly menu so better check it via website or Instagram and booking is essential(very busy restaurant...)
E.
I love it here! Upon arrival we are greeted by friendly staff. The menu is regularly updated giving us a chance to try different authentic Filipino foods. Dishes are lovely and served quickly with large portions. My only wish is that they would serve more vegetable side dishes.
Bookings can be made online as well as online order and payment to limit contact. There is also an area for outdoor eating.
V. B.
Yummy Filipino dishes and desserts. The dining experience will take you back home. Highly recommended for all Filipinos if you're visiting Canberra.
C. C.
Nice environment. Full house on a Friday evening - great host and staff. Food was not to my personal liking but others were happy. However most of the customers were talking very loudly and competing with everyone.
A. L.
Mr Will recommended this place and we love it! Can’t go past the crackling pork and fried chicken.
A. R. (.
Missing some Filipino Dishes? Lolo and Lola (Grandpa and Grandma) is the go to! Love the crispy Bagnet and Pinoy style BBQ!
E. H.
Got a cake and pork dish for a birthday, both were amazing! Looking forwards to coming here again.
J. C.
What a great place. I can't believe I've never been here before! Delicious food and a very relaxed happy atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
E. F.
Pork Bagnet was really super crispy and tasty. Halo-halo as well gave the authentic taste with big-sized ingredients. The price is above average.
S. T.
Always amazing food, service and especially atmosphere
M.
Good food, big serving warm and friendly staff !
E. K.
Amazinggg food!!! Every dish we had was delicious. Great flavours and staff great and accommodating. Authentic food and even the drinks we had were awesome. We went there for a birthday ans wanted to fit in dessert but were too full!! Definitely 5/5, decent price and would return in the future. Recommend completely!!
E. D.
Best restaurant in Canberra, hands down!
The food is always delicious (even the weekly specials are consistently amazing) and the staff are wonderful.
A. D.
Its Filipino food done really well. Comforting when you’re feeling homesick. 🇵🇭
R.
Great food with good ambiance. 💯
J. N.
Amazing all round - food, service, speed. The meals were fresh and quick - extremely flavourful. We loved the chicken skewers and crackling pork. Staff are extremely kind and welcoming.
R. L.
Delicious, authentic Filipino food. Great, friendly service. Worth waiting for a table
I. C.
Chicken skewers are good and so are their curries. Looking forward to trying the deserts next time I come.
吕.
It is amazing!!!!!!! Amazing food and amazing staff!!! It is the place where gives u a really good mood and I will definitely come back again soon!!!!!!!!!
P. N.
OMGosh this place is so cool. The food is freaking awesome. We have nothing but love for this place. If you need a birthday cake I would suggest the ube cake. The staff sure know how to look after customers 👍🏾
F. T.
Each dish is just explosively good!!!
The chefs are just great artists, I should say.
Highly recommended if you're after some Asian food experience that is extraordinaire.
Pro Tip: They have some sweets, pastries, and bread that are to die for so keep an eye on their fridge.
M. F.
This place was highly recommended to me by one of my good pinoy buddies. The food is just yum and is as authentic as it gets. Have been here 3 times and surely going for me. The crispy pork, garlic rice and Halo Halo are my favourites. The team is amazing and always deliver top service with a smile.
M.
Such a nice place for a meal. Food is amazing
P. K.
My first time trying Filipino food in Australia. I have to say, very impressed. Can't wait to visit ACT again to try more of their food again (their menu changes every so often, I hear - such a cool concept!)
J. A.
Food was great! They have variety of food from different Philippine regions every now and then. However we were only allowed an hour's stay due to covid so we rushed up eating. Wasn't able to order dessert.
O. Y. C.
Busy on a Sunday and we arrived without a booking but the team were really accommodating, helpful and cheerful, it made for a great start to our lunch outing. We enjoyed a beautifully prepared cold okra salad, with the okra steamed perfectly al dente - a dish to convert okra doubters it was so good. Salt n pepper calamari was excellent, ever so lightly battered and fried, tender and not in the least bit oily. Servings were generous, the two dishes were plenty for two. There is indoor and outdoor seating. This place is a keeper!
C. D.
Delicious food, generous serving sizes, and very friendly service.
I. P.
Great atmosphere, all the staff were very lovely and friendly especially Ms. Kim, I just love her energy and sense of humour. The way she makes everyone welcome feels so much like at home. I love the food, the portion sizes were good and taste great. Kudos to the chef and the team. I would definitely come back. Gladly recommending this place 5/5.
G. R.
Excellent fresh and tasty food. Dishes are great to share. Menu changes regularly.
s.
Ive just eaten here for the first time, after hearing so much for so long about how good it is. And yes... Exceptional in every way. So much quality for a great price.
Cant wait to go back and eat my way through the whoooole menu.
AND many great gluten free options.
D. E.
We always come here when we are in Canberra
E. G.
One of the best experiences I've had during my stay in Canberra. Lola & Lola provide authentic Filipino food with amazing service. I know where I'll be coming back to when I'm in town!
F. L.
Lolo and Lola is the best Filipino restaurant in Canberra. Aside from the regular dishes, they offer weekly changing menus which means you get to try different Filipino dishes weekly. The food is always delicious and the staff are super friendly. They now also offer takeaway ordering and table booking via SMS. If you're not familiar with Filipino food, head to Lolo and Lola to give it a try!
R. E.
Authentic Filipino dishes, friendly service and reasonable prices !!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
H. E.
Service was great, they don't take bookings but we were seated immediately, though it was busy. The food came extremely fast. We LOVED the pork belly, which is apparently a permanent fixture on an otherwise rotating menu. The servings were pretty big - I was there with my husband and child, we ordered two mains, salad and a large rice and left extremely full as well as with two full containers of leftovers. Again, the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and quick - we'll definitely be back. Highly recommended.
A. S.
Great food, good people, good serbis feels like home.
W. L.
Really tasty food, especially the halo halo. Great service too
A. X.

Incomparable service... staff very friendly... great menu and food... big serving.

Original review: 'Amazing service and even better food!'
I would like to update my review because small businesses like this deserve to flourish, their food is made with love. There is a real sense of community and passion as soon as you step into this restaurant. The food tastes like mum made it as it melts in your mouth and puts you at ease. I can't wait to see where this business goes!
H. T.
i had my birthday dinner here and it was a going away party for my friends too. very attentive care and quick service, organized. it was my 10th time there yesterday. i'm glad you guys made it thru covid. the rotating menu is genius as it keeps things fresh and allows the chefs to focus. Filipino food deserves a very big spotlight and you guys are putting your best food forward.
thank you
A. L.
My partner and I love going here even if its just for takeaway. They recognise us when we come in the door and know what all our favourites are. Highly recommend the twice cooked crispy pork and the leche flan.
A. D.
Amazing! Firstly, friendliest staff you'll ever meet. Super smiley, but really genuine about it. Seemed to enjoy having a laugh with the customers. The food was delicious. The menu changes week to week, which is a great way of keeping up excitement and having regulars come back. We had a beef brisket curry, which was excellent. But the real highlight was the chicken. Even though it was deep fried, it still somehow felt really light. And the gravy it came with was amazing. Chicken gravy, but quite spicy (but not hot).
F. C.
Excellent food and very friendly service. Loved the Pork Adobo, Twice cooked pork belly, and purple yam milkshake. Will definitely visit again!
N. L.
The food was amazing and rich with flavour. Highly recommend the garlic rice and chicken skewers. The service was impressive although there was a long wait, the waiter continued to update us of the timing and even ordered our food early so we could eat as soon as we sat down. Great food and even better service.
C. J.
Perfect meal Delicious
We'll have eat again
B. S.
One of the best places to eat in Canberra. The food is outstanding in changes round. The desserts are to die for and the owner is just awesome.
A. L.
The food is great. Love the steamed Barramundi, Pancit Canton, Beef Pares, Chicken BBQ, Halo-Halo and Leche Plan (like a creamy cake with custard and condensed milk). Customer Service is amazing and the place is clean👍
M. A.
As always, fantastic food. Excellent and professional waiters. COVID safe and family friendly. I must admit that I had been a fan for many years. And have always visited with family and friends.
H. Z.
Best Filipino food in Canberra
W.
Food was absolutely delicious and staff were so friendly. We had the calamari and even though it was deep fried, it was somehow still light! Also had the barramundi in banana leaf and it was just the best combination of flavours. Will definitely go back and try the other menu items :)
R. P.
Such pleasant/friendly staff - great atmosphere for children/families. Food came quickly and the chicken was the most delicious/moist and tender!
Definitely coming back. A bit pricey if you over order (which we did) but well worth it.
C.
You're 1st greated by friendly staff, seated and given a small menu with salivating choices. Always great food and overall experience each time I come eat here. Menu changes every week, so there's always something new to try. Highlyrecommend if you're wanting to try Filipino food!
R. M.
It is a good sign that most of the patrons appear to be from the Philippines. Great food, happy and friendly staff but make sure you only order the small size! We ate there 2 nights in a row and even with the half serve we still took food home. So it looks like we will be having a Philippino feast tomorrow night also! They change the menu every Wednesday so we will definitely be back. The cost for 2 was between $45 and $50.
R. J.
Excellent food and the warmest service. The weekly menus are so exciting that we keep coming back for more. Save room for dessert because they make awesome cakes and other sweets. Voted for them as best casual restaurant in Canberra this year, and they won!
G. M.
Love this place! Authentic Filipino food and hospitality, and their amazing menu keeps changing so there is always a new (usually pork based) dish to try
R. S.
The atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed your food. Above all, your crew were rock stars!! It was very busy but they were kind, attentive, and professional. Well deserved 5 stars! Congratulations.
M.
Very tasty food. Unbelievable service. First time at a Filipino restaurant, had no idea what to eat. Waiter was extremely informative and cheerful.
t.
Want authentic Filipino food and eating experience? This is THE place to go. Amazing Pinoy food that will take you away. You will experience true Pinoy culture and community. We love Lolo and Lola! The menu changes each week and celebrates different islands of the Philippines each time. It is just like eating at mama’s house with all the family over.
D. K.
Amazing food, staff are really warm as well!
C. B.
I have been coming here since they opened in 2017 and it is always a pleasure to eat there (or to stop for takeway, dessert or refreshing non-alcoholic drinks). The food is always delicious, flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. The staff is very friendly and professional. A testament to the quality of their food and service is the number of Filipino natives who eat there. Even when the restaurant is packed with people, their costumer service is always excellent. Lolo and Lola offers great cakes to order, baked by chef Jay Pietro. I have ordered one of their Ube Chiffon cakes for my birthday for the past 3 years.
They have also different thematic events like Merienda Cena on Sundays once a month, Christmas dinner feast and others. The menu rotates weekily, while some favorites are available every week. They quickily became one of my favorite restaurants and continue to hold the spot.
A. R.
I went to this place on a recommendation of my friend..as I had tried their pastries and found them simply amazing.. in fact one of the best patries of Canberra❤ today first time tried their food as well. Delicious garlic fried rice and chicken skewers ! Thank you Team @ Lolo and Lola💜
E. R.
Awesome dining experience. The food was so yummy and brought back a lot of memories growing up in the Philippines. The staff were also part of the success as they treat you like family.
K.
Great food, great atmosphere, great service. The desserts are amazing.
S. T.
By far, the BEST Filipino food in Canberra and in Australia! Amazing food, friendliest service and really great atmosphere!
We've heard about this place from a friend of a friend and we were so excited to try it out. Came there for dinner last week and the place was seriously packed! A lot of people were waiting outside but we were seated by the lovely lady host straight away after only a few minutes of waiting. We had the crispy fried pork belly and the laing (taro leaves) and they were both very very delicious! The mango sans rival (meaning no rival, as explained by the friendly lady behind the counter) was, without a doubt, the most amazing and refreshing cake we've ever had. I'd give these guys 10 stars if I could :) We'll definitely be back with our family and more friends soon!
J. R.
Amazing! Love the pork belly! The Pork Hock tho... If you see it on the menu, you absolutely must get it. Sensational.
Kim, and all the staff are delightful. They really enjoy the occasion, and it makes for a very family friendly restaurant, with exquisite food!
d. p.
Very delicious and great friendly staff. Worth the price and price reasonable with big dishes. Went back again the following night. 100% recommend.
R. S.
Delicious food and great service. We had pork 2 ways, chicken skewers and vegetable stew (okra, green beans, sweet potato, tomato) and plenty left to take home. Coffee was very good, declined the purple yam shake which looked amazing!!!
D. T.
I feel as though everything has been written about this amazing restaurant has already been written, but in my opinion, Canberran restaurants, particularly of asian cuisine, is poor quality, unauthentic taste and overpriced. I have lived here all my life and there are only a handful I would go to. It always causes me great stress with taking out my friends and family from Sydney and Melbourne, as they have much better and cheaper food.
Lolo and Lola has alleviated all this stress and embarrassment, with their simply amazing food, vibrant atmosphere, super friendly and accommodating staff and a menu that changes every week! No other restaurant would put in as much effort as they do and I've never had a bad experience or meal here. See you there soon!
A. C.
Wow!! Such friendly service and extremely fast service even at its busy times. Really inexpensive for the amount of food you receive. My friends are Filipino and I’ve always had food from there family, the food at Lola and Lola is delicious and great menu options. The halo halo was amazing!! Love coming here.
C.
Unfortunately we live in Sydney so we have to make a day out in Canberra when we visit the restaurant. Food is good and serving sizes are okay. Fried rice not that great so I would recommend ordering plain rice with the dishes. Toilet facilities are available inside the restaurant. Outdoor seating also available.
S. C.
Absolutely beautiful food and desserts! The taro flavoured items on the menu are a must-try. We had an amazing time and the service was great too.
N. S.
This eatery is a no booking restaurant. Our group of 8 came in at around 5:30 in the afternoon and the place was already packed. They rang us aftering almost 30 minutes of waiting for a table, but the food came out very quickly. The food was full of flavours and the serving size was oh so generous. Definitely worth the wait! Will be back again soon!
E. A.
One of the best Filipino Restaurant i've been to.
The atmosphere and the ambience of the place feels comfortable and awesome.
The staff are so friendly and hospitable you'll feel like you've known them for ages.
S. L.
Easily some of the best food I have eaten in Canberra. The atmosphere is loud and lively and the staff are happy and enthusiastic. For a cheap, less than $20 meal you will get a huge portion that tastes fantastic.
The place is often seems full but if you leave your number they will usually call you with a free table in short time.
호. S. K. (. D. P.
Very nice!! We will come again👍😉😁
T. L.
What a great place! We ordered a noodle soup and beef brisket. Both were delicious, great for winter. Large serves. And the staff are lovely. Will return!
J. S.
Best Filipino restaurant I've visited in NSW and Canberra! Food is amazingly delicious and the service is just exemplary. I'll be bringing friends there, now that I'm based in Canberra.
B. B.
The warm Ginataang Halo-Halo (purple yum dessert) is superb..! Well Done to the team.. xx
A. H.
All the food taste sooooo good.. Excellent service.. They are all so happy and friendly.. If i got the chance, i'll definitely be back..😁
K. L.
I thoroughly enjoyed eating here. The food was delicious, cheap and arrived quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. They have a small menu of about 5 dishes, but it changes weekly, so you'll never get bored!
J. R.
Love this place. It's food is authentic and the service is so friendly. I've been a handful of times and it's always been good!
P. W.
If there's one place in Canberra to experience proper Filipino food, then this is it. (I would say it's probably my favourite Asian establishment... And maybe better than my own mother's cooking. I'm a bad Filipino.)
u.
We were greeted by the lovely co-owner, Kim, who is quite bubbly and friendly. We ordered the pork sisig, dilis salad, garlic rice and leche flan for desert. We were absolutely stuffed and satisfied. Everything was great, though the dilis salad was quite refreshing and a modern use of dilis. Highly recommended for when you're in the ACT and craving for Filipino or an Asian alternative. 👌🏿👌🏿👌🏿
R. A.
Such a mind blowing place in how they capture the authentic Filipino taste! Food is delicious and you can really feel the Pinoy hospitality. Staff is always welcoming and greet you with a smile. Whenever I feel homesick this place is definitely a remedy, wish I could rate it a 6/5. Thank you Lolo and Lola!
t. i.
It captures the taste of authentic filipino cuisine. Very friendly staff as well. Truly a must-try resto in Canberra!
G. B.
Food is served to share. Excellent quality meals and service. Can't fault this place. It's a jewel in the Watson crown.
D. P.
I dont know where to begin. The pork belly is amazing, with puffy, crispy skin. We also had an amazing beef dish with peanut sauce (I can't remember what it was called). The ice cream is also great, with unique flavours and a nice texture.
P.
A great take away option in this current environment. Everything is tasty and great to take home to meet the whole family. The desserts and coffee are also perfect for a nice snack on the weekend lunch.
S. P.
Very cheap, friendly service. The dishes are huge and come out quickly. The venue is filled with Filipinos so that should tell you whether or not this is good Filipino food. I'll go back for sure.
S. C.
Fillipino food - only one in town now that Kursina closed down. good menu, packed with local Canberra Fillipino community - and lots of Fillipino ADFA cadets - hard to miss with the haircuts, ID badges out and talking shop. Hostess was wonderful, staff friendly, and food fast, reasonably priced and delicious. Definitely a place to come back to. Only down side is that it is so much in demand that they don't take bookings - first come first served. Luckily patrons move through quickly so the wait is not long. They do takeaway as well.
A. H.
Amazing food, amazing service, and well priced
S. B.
Lolo and Lola is my new fav lunch place! We were greeted warmly, seated promptly and given suggestions from the menu. Delicious food and hands down it has got to be the best crackling pork in the ACT. LOVE IT!!
V. T.
We are Sydney siders, who were at weekend trip at Canberra and found an amazing place to complete our experience. All three generation of our family were pleased to spend time and enjoyed generous portions of beautiful food. Thank you for your attitude
D. S.
Love this place...good food as well...yuuummmyy..however limited parking in the area..
D. M.
Lolo and Lola is exactly what you want in a neighbourhood restaurant. The food tastes fantastic, is great value, and the menu changes every week. The staff are really nice and the place has a casual vibe that is family friendly. The desserts are amazing too.
c. r.
Yummy and affordable food, served by friendly and warm staff. Menu changes every week so you get something new the next time you dine. And the desserts are the best!
F. L.
Everytime I Come to Canberra, I wouldn't miss a beat to dine at Lolo and Lola, apart from the warm and lovely service,. I am treated to an exquisite Filipino cuisine that draws me back to my roots. Highly recommended place to dine. 👌👌
B. D. B.
Went for a birthday dinner was freaking out before hand as I'm very picky with Asian food(typical Aussie) OMG AMAZING the beef stew pork belly meatballs to die for I'm now becoming a regular.

Incredible food and fantastic service in a great spot at the Watson shops. This week's Longganisa sinangag and the Pinoy chicken curry were delicious. Incredible value - prices are reasonable and then you see the serving size! The weekly menu changes mean I'll definitely be back to try more in future
N. L.
The best restaurant in Canberra and the Ube Macapuno (Purple Yam Drink) is the best.
G. T.
Great food, great service.
Always friendly, Always fresh. Always something new to try
We love this place, favourite place to eat in Canberra.
K. G. I. R.
The best! They know what they are doing when it comes to affordable and direct Filipino savory dishes and desserts. Friendliest customer service as well! Try the main stay dish, Pork Bagnet. You'll not regret it
X. S.
Food was amazing, not oily or greasy, and service was amazing, so polite and got the order right from the get go. Would defs recommend for any occasion, only negative id say was music a bit loud and that front door is a bit heavy to open, but everything else was spot on.
j. c.
Never had Filipino food before til friend introduced this place. Food is amazing. Also bakery. So yummy!
J. A.
My new favourite place to eat. A new menu every week, always with amazingly delicious fusion Filipino dishes at a reasonable price. I get lunch here every week!
I. S.
Loved the food. Service was pretty good especially since it was a very busy night. Very friendly and happy staff. We are totally returning for date night again.
G. T.
Staff are very warm and welcoming, and the food is always very unique and delicious. Everything is a reasonable price also, one of my favourite places to eat in Canberra!
A. J.
Food was really great and authentic! Staff were lovely and accommodating. Heard about them for years and finally managed to go. Well worth it!
D. H.
The menu changes weekly with a small menu for mains and dessert. The pork crackling was the best I've ever had though I wish some dishes came with more vegetables or something to balance the amount of deep fried food.
E. E.
Fantastic eatery! Staff are so friendly and accomodating. Food is delicious and generous portions. It's just like eating at home with lots of family around.
J. B.
The food was amazing and the service was excellent!
B. R.
Bagnet for the win!

THIS IS DEADSET, THE BEST FOOD I'VE EATEN IN CANBERRA!
Pork belly was unreal!
D. L.
Travelled from Sydney to Canberra to experience Lolo and Lola, unfortunately they have a function and they cannot cater us.. This happens 3times already to us.. So we never had a chance to experience it. Its not even on their social media that day is not available for customers.
A.
Best filo resto in Australia...so glad it is based in Canberra. Saying 'value for your money' is an understatement. The owners/head chef remembers who you are, outstanding customer service. Every week they feature a different menu and announce it in their facebook page. This shows how creative and innovative the chef is. Forget the other Filipino restos in Australia, Lolo and Lola is the one you should try and love.
J. V. S.
Food is affordable and great! Menu is currently inconsistent as they have weekly changes which can either be good or bad depending on your taste. Clean environment and staff were very friendly!
T. G.
Some weekly menus are the best, the others are good too!
We always order everything on the menu to share, it never disappoint us!
They don’t take booking & will only seat you when more than half of the group are there, so come early if you can.
J. S.
Nice restaurant and food, but next time I would be checking the menu beforehand to make sure they have the dishes that we like
F. P.
First time to try this restaurant with my partner and had the pork belly. It’s the best fried pork belly and we’ll be back next week to try the fish dish and chicken bbq. Highly recommended...
L. S.
So long have I been longing for that authentic Pinoy home cooking. I can cook most dishes but lacks that time to prepare them. I heard about this Filipino restaurant from friends who travel a lot and living local at CBR, so we decided to check the pla during our visit.
Lolo and Lola, I would say, is the best Filipino restaurant in the ACT. Brings back memory of my Grandma's cooking of the Kare-Kare, that smokey chicken skewers you always anticipate on NocheBuena, the taste of Ilocos that wad perfectly captured by their Bagnet! Topped by the warm Pinoy welcome paired with smile from the staff.
Would recommend this place to anyone and every one. As for me, definitely will be coming back for more!!!
T. H.
Amazing food.
Quick service even though they were very busy. Got a table for two without a booking and lovely staff.
Will be back.
K. H.

It's like going to your grandparents' house for Sunday lunch and you have all your favourites prepared lovingly by your Lola (grandmother in Filipino). The chefs/owners are passionate and talented people who love their craft and it shows through their food.
