Really enjoyed this Italian Restaurant though it was quite noisy. Each plate was beautifully presented and my salt and pepper encrusted beef was delicious. My husband had the barramundi and he said that while very tasty he was glad he ordered extra salad as it was a small serving. I have to say the focaccia is to die for and I’d go back again just to have a whole one to myself. I’d like to try the fixed dégustation and wine pairing menu sometime. Four and a half stars.

Mezzalira truely delivers an experience of high end Italian eating in Canberra. The interior of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, with a carving and woodfire station in the dining room. You can see your food prepared as you wait which adds so much to the anticipation. Every dish that came out was just exquisite. My favourite by far was the duck, the meat was so tender you could cut it with a spoon, but the skin had been crisped to perfection. Our table got the 'Ci Pensate Voi' option, which is tables choice of 5 dishes from the menu and we picked all the mains with the fresh cut starter and would highly recommend doing the same if you are a meat lover.

As a large group we had to use the set menu with either two or three courses. The choices in entrée, main and dessert categories were plentiful. Pasta was home made, the duck was fantastic (both the entree dish and the main dish). Our od desserts the favourite was their spin on tiramisu. Great wine list, great service. A perfect classic Italian restaurant.

Amazing food and great service I've always enjoyed dining experiences at Mezzalira. They recently really went the extra mile to accommodate my and my guest's food restrictions. I've always enjoyed the food and the service is first rate. I can't fault it.

The risotto was a letdown and desert was average. Altogether, mediocre compared to some other Italian joints around the corner. Definitely order the focaccia.

I love the dining scene in Canberra and Mezzalira delivered on every level. From the greeting on arrival to discrete, friendly and efficent service to having the exit door held open on the departure - splendid! The menu was succinct and offered choices for even fussiest individuals. The wine list was extensive and divine, hence it offered local and European wines. I absolutely loved the food and the place was warm and classy without the pretentiousness most restaurants, of similar statue, seem to offer. It is a must if you are visiting Canberra and looking where to dine.

So tonight we had a reservation at Mezzalira Ristorante. It was my family's first time going to this restaurant, all 3 of us had chosen the three course menu. The staff is very attentive towards your plates and glasses and are very friendly in general. The food was great although the reason this isn't a 5 star review is because the crab spaghetti and the lemon tart was not as good as the other options. They are the two worst dishes in the entire menu In my opinion. The crab spaghetti was very oversalted and the lemon tart was quite bitter and the texture was quite off. Though don't let those 2 dishes ruin the experience, other dishes like the yellowfin salmon and veal and the tiramisu were excellent.

Place has been revamped in the last six months. Food is excellent, the staff are still quite knowledgeable and there is a really broad and interesting menu (whereas before it was a bit limited). Wine list is consistently reliable (great valpolicella available!) Consistently better than any Italian competition in the CBD or Manuka/Kingston. I would prefer that the staff didn't try and sell extras, it's too nice an environment for that sort of thing.

Surprised to see so many polarising reviews for this place. We had a wonderful experience and the four of us had wide variety of dishes, entres and mains were all delicious, good portions and great quality. The deserts were to die for. Four stars only because it was a little pricey but it was well worth it.

Literally the best pizza I have had! I love the vibe of the little hole in the wall Da Rosario during the day while inside the restaurant was turning over for the night time period. I would recommend as it's not too pricey either.

I ordered the dessert special which was white chocolate mousse with almond crumble. When I got my dessert I noticed that it was missing the almond crumble. When I asked the waitress she tried to convince me that the white chocolate shaving on top of my mousse was actually almond. I told her that it wasn't almond and it was white chocolate. She then went to the kitchen, came back with an apology and that my almond crumble was on its way. When it finally came out they gave me an almond biscotti that had been broken up. That's not almond crumble!!!!!

Delicious food! The wood fired suckling pig melted in my mouth and came with deliciously crispy skin. I would also recommend the green beans and almond 'aglio e olio' (a side dish), which came with plenty of garlic. We had a chocolate dessert that came with zabaglione, which tasted a bit odd. But the tiramisu is delicious.
