Love the food here! It's so unique as we don't get to eat Polish food very often. Make sure you book ahead to avoid disappointment as seats are limited. Yours truly @fooderarri

Really nicely done dishes, full of flavour and just delicious, and very pleased with the gluten free and vegan options. Very pleasant staff. The Polish club has a bar which is not part of the restaurant, but have a good selection of vodkas, other spirits and also beers which accompany the dishes rather well :-)

A lovely small club with great perogi and a fab range of Polish beer. Nothing flash though, and there in though lies the beauty...

Top resto, Polo Restaurant, in an most interesting building. It's a gem, fun menu (see attached menu photo) very reasonably priced with generous servings, and for a change, lots of younger people at this Club.

WoW!! New taste sensation at The Polo - Butterscotch Tart. Definitely something to share. Serves with cream! I had to have it but my stomach demanded it had to be a take-away. OK by me!!!!

I dearly love the polo. I remember it from way back when it was a just another club with pokies. I have since rediscovered this hidden gem during covid times.
The club itself is a retro wonder. Authentic and almost untouched by gentrification. Check out the restrooms, palaces of tile and troughs of stainless steel. In the library you can dine among the translated works of Poland's writers. There's a shaggy orange rug on the wall and icons of his holiness PJP2.
Like many places, the polo had to innovate due to covid. They installed a fairly reliable online booking system and they converted the dance floor into socially distanced dining space. Check in on entry.
The polo used to be a lovely little live music venue with a decent stage and room to dance. Dancing is now illegal, but at least the music is back. It's a great space with great sound.
The bar stocks your favourite European beers and Aussie wines. They usually have Polish beers but were out last night. Various schnapps to guarantee your hangover. Staff are friendly if you ask them about their day.
My favourite thing about the polo is the food. Sure you can get a schnitzel or whatever, but the people come back for the pierogis. So many veg and non veg options to choose from. They have desert pierogis too which will make you wish you ate less at dinner so you still had room. There's a huge freezer full right in the dining room. You can buy some to enjoy at home but why would you when you could come here?
Don't ever change. We can grow old together..

Fantastic authentic experience, delicious hearty food and Polish beer selection
K. L.
The food here is always amazing, just wonderful home made comfort food that reminds me of what my Oma used to make. They have a huge range of different pierogi flavours, including vegan options, and at the moment you can buy them frozen to cook at home! The main meals are consistently great, the goulash I had tonight was just perfect. Highly recommended, I will be back again and again!
A. H.
Have been coming to the Polo for the past couple of years for dinners and the occasional gig. The atmosphere is very cosy, pierogi was delicious and the Polish beers were great too. I can highly recommend the sweet potato pierogi and honey beers (they’re strong haha)!
M. F.
Great family atmosphere. Somewhere to enjoy a drink with friends and a meal or to spend time with the family. Euro beers and a simple but tasty menu
K. V.
Really enjoyed Polo and will be back. The pork+fennel and the beef pierogi were particularly tasty, the potato+cheese and the wild boar weren't as good so we wouldn't get them again. The blueberry and ricotta dessert pierogi were delicious and a generous serve. The club itself is a nice place to eat as long as you aren't expecting fine dining, though a little chilly as one might expect of a currently ,(covid-19) sparsely occupied large space. We will be back to try more of the menu, it seems like a good place to go with friends.

Love the food and service. Authentic dishes in a unique atmosphere, and a great value for money
B. B.
Fantastic venue, great polish food, good selection of unusual European lagers.
H. M. M.
Came here on a recommendation from a friend. The pierogi were delicious and the decor is a great mix of old Polish and new fresh taste. The bar staff are lovely and super helpful about what to recommend. I got the the beetroot and ricotta pierogi and the schnitzel, and they were FANTASTIC.
I would also highly highly recommended the dessert pierogi. They are delicious and very pretty to look at.
J. S.
Best schnitzel in Canberra, and so much better than the German Club's!
C.
Excellent local business preparing consistently delicious food. A strong link to traditional recipes, but enough original twists to satisfy the curious as well as the nostalgic.
M. A.
Great place to eat. So authentic. Great beer and food. Book if you want to eat there.
J. W.
Really awesome place for a small gig. Nice high stage works for us short people to see the bands from the back.

We have been going there for years, there are not many places you can go and have a conversation as most places are noicey and kick you out after a hour or so. Not this place, the food is exceptional!! (Get two plates of perogi and a beer) it is quiet and full atmosphere and staff are always friendly
J. D.
My wife and I just loved our anniversary dinner at Polo. We're not Polish, so everything on the menu and at the bar was a best guess; and everything was delightful. Friendly, helpful staff made it easy to relax and enjoy the ride. The decor is dated with some things coming right back into current style! But who cares? We came to eat and drink. Besides, we agreed that it added to the evening. (Don't change, Polo!)
The menu was short, but the hearty homestyle recipes delivered with a chef's flair and attention coupled with some industrial strength Polish beer made for a great night out.
Head on over, take a guess, be delighted! We will be back... (Quite a bit, and with friends, methinks!)

The pierogies are delicious!! And love the interior vibe
E. N.
Love this place. They get great artists from all over the country and world wide. Food is interesting and terrific.

Beautiful Polish home cooked meals. Delicious!
V. D.
Great staff. Famous kitchen. Lovely friendly rooms. Strong larger and huge choice of vodka. Music and dance!
D.
This place is do cool! The bar staff really know the beers, and the beers themselves are a string selection of imported European brews.
B.
It was great! Yeah it's old fashioned, let's not pretend its a fancy club, the food looked like mamma's cooking and tasted delicious! That was my first visit and I really enjoyed it! I will be going back
R. M.
Delicious food and friendly service. Recommend!

Good food, great beer and cosy old fashioned club.
J. P.
I just ran an event in the conference room upstairs and Jacob at the Polish Club was on-hand to help at every step of the way. Would highly recommend as a venue!
A. O.
I always love the food here, best pierogis! Bardzo dobrze!
B. M.
A friend recommended the club some time ago. I finally got around to going - why did it take me so long to get there? This place is fantastic! I had the perogies, and a couple beers. I will definitely be back.
C. S.
Great beer and had a great time at the gig they set up! 100% would go again!
P. S.
Fun place - food and beer selection were good, but the folk art on the wall got me good. Food could do with a little more motherly love though (where's the punchy horseradish?!)
R. Z.
Very interesting place, great flavourful food.
S. S.
Great food, beer and service!
B. C.
Fantastic place...reasonably priced and delicious East European food and a wide range of excellent Polish beer in a homely setting. A lovely venue for music and drama too!
J. A.
This place is absolutely awesome. A must for Polish, Pierogi and vodka lovers. Can not recommend it enough!
M. B.
Delicious food, low key, great selection of beers and just a charming little local club... I wish there were more places like this! Perogi is delicious!

Wonderful Genuine polish food
J. G.
Love the Polo. It's 100% authentic: great selection of pierogis and other Polish specialties with a tantalising beer menu, set in a beautiful Taglietti designed clubhouse, and super friendly. I love that extended families come here to eat, groups of friends gather and neighbours bump into each other. It's as convivial as an old fashioned pub, and the food is delicious.
L. M.
Awesome place, friendly staff. The hall is a pretty good place to host small events.
R. W.
Eclectic and authentic.
A great place to go back in time and feel the history of the Polish Canberran experience. Food is fantastic and the beers are great.

D. G.

J. H.
Great atmosphere - quirky and quaint - with delicious food and good service. I like that you can eat in the main area or...the library!
M. P.
The Polo is a quirky never-left-the-70s delight. The foods' good, and the Polish beer is too. Service can be slow, but it's still a worthwhile dining and drinking experience. And when the live music is on, it rocks!
J. R.
Excellent food and beer. Great value

An exceptional local resturant and community centre in Canberra. By far one of my family's favourite places to eat! Amazing service, delicious food, great drinks and good prices. It has the best down-to-earth atmosphere, and is staffed by lovely people. I would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat. Thanks for all you guys do for the community.

Went on pirogi night, catered for vegans and a choice of fine polish lagers and beers. Very nice ambiance and decoration. Recommended.
D. H.

Down to earth with everything you need for a good night out with friends. Interesting selection of well prepared Polish food.

A really good range of beers and alcohol in general. Never tried the food but the ambient when there's gigs is incredible.

The Polish Club is awesome!!!! Like some good gigs here and food is good. I always tell people to go here.

Great place for fortnightly small goods purchases. Additionally a very good rye sourdough can also be purchased.
A. H.
Loved the vibe of this cosy European club. Would highly recommend the stuffed cabbage!
N. E.
You want live music? It's always good here. Polish food? It's so good. Polish beers? They aren't my favourite but they have a whole bunch of other beers too. You can also learn to dance. If you are in O'Connor skip the Duxton and come here.
P. G.
Hooray! No pokies! Great friendly bar and venue.
J. W.
Love the stuffed cabbage, love the beer, love the interior and everything...
D. Q.
Friendly atmosphere with a family meal that fills you all night. Not just an hour after. Good beers to match.

Great Polish food and beer. Locally run with a nice community atmosphere. Also hosts live music.
P. L.
You can get a decent meal there prior to seeing a show.
L. S.
Pokie free, family orientated with brilliant food and Polish nostalgia. Bit tatty but the happy vibe makes up for it.
P. E.
Great beer and dumplings
N. R.
Tiny but cozy place for events. Guys are nice but cocktails are just ok.
S. D.
This is review for the perogis only. Delicious!
K. R.

C. K.
Needs bit more organisation, I gave up on looking when is open and then finding that is not
F.
Very interesting
M. S.
Freakin' awesome
R. S.
great food great vibe
M. D.
A great dance floor is this club's only real feature, making its other failures ignorable. The bar is not well stocked, unless you are after Polish beer, the bistro's opening hours are limited, and the plumbing in the toilets is perpetually problematic.
J. H.
Awesome atmosphere and fantastic food.
T. S.
Great food, good food
P. S.
Nice clean facilities for big functions in Canberra.
M. W.
Disappointed to learn that the kitchen was not actually run by Poles but pleasantly surprised at the food once we got it. The pierogies with cabbage and mushrooms were fantastic...just like my mommas. The stuffed cabbage was good although made with a rice filler which I am not used to. The tomato mushroom sauce that accompanied them was very tasty. The Beef goulash was incredible. The beef just melted in your mouth. The food took a bit of time as the restaurant was busy and mainly because each dish is made to order. We sat right in front of the kitchen window and I assure you I watched every move the guys made. I'm a Polish food snob and have very high expectations. Sadly the only dessert to choose from was a chocolate custard or plum donut and I had been happily awaiting the poppy cheesecake. The chocolate custard was delish. The menu choices for the night were sparse but my boyfriend and I both licked our plates clean. Bardzo dobre jedzenie!!!
E. D.
Eat all the things. They're all good.
