Such a lovely spot. Limited parking means it's never to crowded. Lots of people sitting in the evening watching the sunset. We had our wedding reception here 10 years ago. Canapes while cruising on the lake. A magical day. Sadly that marquee is gone now but it's still a lovely spot to sit and have fish and chips

The smoked duck and the salmon entrees were delightful. Mains of fillet steak and ravioli done to perfection. Butterscotch popcorn for dessert finished it off well. Wine list covered everything you needed. Views are great. Best of all, the staff are helpful and friendly. Great place to go.

The staff, service and food were all great. The window view was gorgeous. There were a few mistakes like a drink removed from the table before it was finished. I think that it was Cheyenne who rescued us when anything went wrong. We'll done and thank you. We shared all our courses so I can comment and recommend a few. The duck entree was superb. The oysters were super yummy. Do share as you must try both. The lamb and the ravioli were both incredible but the seafood basket wasn't worthy of being on the same table. Truly with everything else being so great, a fish and chips approach with a failed emphasis on the batter was in appropriate.

We chose to have my husband's 50th birthday party here and wow it did not disappoint! The communication leading up to the event was incredible, the Events Manager was always easy to contact. The event on the day was magnificent. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. We had a fair few people with dietary requirements and this was absolutely no issue for the SCYC. I would definitely not hesitate to hold an event here again, everyone enjoyed themselves thoroughly! Thanks again to all the staff for making my husband's 50th birthday so lovely and memorable.

Wonderful spot beside Lake Burley Griffin. Very child friendly, perfect spot to pack a picnic blanket and plenty of shady areas to choose from as well as tables n chairs provided by Snapper/yacht club. Super easy ordering via qr code on table then pickup a breeze. Staff lovely and some of the best fish and chips I've had in a long time. Oooh the gelati was good too.

We enjoy the SCC Yacht Club restaurant very much. The menu and the wines are fun, and the young staff, that are serving, are polite and interested. The entrée oysters were fresh and tasty. The only downside was that the saltwater (the liquor) of the oysters had been rinsed out. The chef is excellent at cooking Riverina Lamb and his Brie fillet steak was tender and rare. The roasted capsicum vegetable was very good. We like a sorbet to finish and cleanse the mouth. Ideally, it would be a Coupe Colonel (it's the best recipe) and, then, take a taxi. For next time, perhaps.

I have spent a lot of time in Canberra over the years but I have never made it to the Yacht Club. Luckily for me, on my last visit my Grandfather suggested that we have an afternoon out at the Yacht Club as it is one of his favourite places to go. It was also somewhere that he took all of his Children. The food was fantastic and the outside area was great. There was a duo playing music on the lawn to the backdrop of many sailing boats floating around the lake. When visiting the Southern Cross Yacht club I got to see the happiness it brought out from him, seeing his grandchildren play in the same places that his children did, eating at the same spot and all spending time together as a family. I will be back.

One of my first outings in Canberra and absolutely loved it! A great atmosphere out on the lawn near the water. Great seafood/fish and chips with a few salad options. The upstairs dinning with balcony is a great place to enjoy and evening meal with good company and watching a sunset. Parking available outside designated members only carpark, can be a short walk.

Lovely views. Chairs are really u comfortable to sit on and the tables are sticky as though they don't get cleaned properly. Food okay, very expensive, but you could pack a picnic and then support the club by buying some drinks from them. Go for the views alone as they're gorgeous.

Second time on the MV Southern Cross for a sunset cruise. Never disappoints. Food was incredible (see menu) and well cooked. Whilst the salmon parfait was amazing, and the lamb just beautiful, my absolute favourite was the almond mousse summer peach and caramellia. Took me back 30 years to caramel yogo- a smell and taste I have been searching for ever since. I could quite happily have that menu every day of my life! The lights of Canberra by night are quite spectacular. It seemed we travelled every part of the lake on the cruise ship. Staff were great. Highly recommended.

Pretty good food, but the views are the main reason I'd go here to eat. The food alone is pretty pricey for what you get in my opinion. One thing I really like is the 200 mile menu. It's a list of dishes for which everything has been sourced from within 200 miles. For the environmentally conscious, this is a really cool feature. I'd love to see it in more places.

A well presented small licenced club with a good main restaurant upstairs and a casual fish chip and burger restaurant downstairs with mostly outdoor seating. Importantly this club does not have poker machines. A good supply of parking just in front of the main entrance and overflow parking not far away.

Beautiful setting and a very nice place to make a stop on our journey back to Adelaide. The facilities are very modern clean tidy and nicely laid out. A very relaxing spot and we loved the fresh tasting fish and chips. The only downside which unfortunately stood out were the very small serves of wine in plastic stemmed cups at expensive prices. Just a little thing but made the staff look stingy.

Nice but at the function i had a big label on the table for my (many) dietary requirements, for which the kitchen had catered, and the waiting staff gave me the regular meal and i didn't notice until feeling ill. They then gave me one then the other of the regular desserts then a special dessert which was still the wrong one until the manager came and got me the right one. Overall there's just a significant hope in the system but everything else was good though i left feeling a bit crook.

Went here for a family Christmas lunch. There were 10 of us all together. We had opted for the suggested 2 course lunch which was very reasonably priced. The food was of very good quality and the portions more than adequate. One of my grandchildren is a sufferer of Coeliac Diseae and the menu was able to cater to his dietary requirements. The service was excellent and the staff (although rushed off their feet) were courteous and attentive. The inside restaurant was packed so the staff were kept busy the whole time. There was minimal waiting for our meals, drinks etc to be delivered to our tables and a very enjoyable time was had by all of us. Well done, Southern Cross Yacht Club staff.

I had the Smoked Riverina lamb as an entree, it was beautiful and tender. Best dish of the night in my opinion. For my main I had the Coq au Vin fir my main, it was quite good as well. Dessert was a Kalamansi Tart, it was just what you needed after a meal. Sweet but not overly. The double cream was right on par. Coffee was a little bit bitter but still not bad. Im going to give 5 stars for this awesome location and restaurant. The customer service is good and the food is great.; whenever we have visitors to Canberra this is where we go BUT BUT we went to the covered outdoor area of the restaurant and were very disappointed with the furniture. The beige settees were very soiled and needing a good clean! Perhaps CSSC could replace this furniture befitting the same decor as inside. Oh yes, the singer outside shouldn't sing.

The Southern Cross Yacht Club is a rounded dining venue with restaurant, fish diner and takeaway off the ground level balcony, a tent venue for receptions, and of course the Yacht Club.
