Meat & Wine Co, what a place for Canberra! Definitely somewhere you’d go to enjoy a nice dinner, the mood lighting and atmosphere make you feel like you’re eating at a super high end restaurant which just makes you feel nice. Atmosphere, fit-out of the restaurant were outstanding! Fabulous! Did make a booking online with request of high chair ( which nothing ready while we arrived) Gentlemen who served us on the night was friendly. Wine list was big, but lot of wine are not available. Paying top price for a steak 🥩, but definitely not meet my standards. Overall, good experience for Canberrans, hope the service team and kitchen team can improve to meet that high end standards.

We had a fantastic dinner ordered from the aged menu. Well worth it I would recommend it. Plenty of paid parking close by. Loved the restaurant decor. Service was fantastic. We did the full dessert item for dessert and it was our anniversary so they did up a special plate for us. We also ordered some of the dessert cocktails they were yummy as well. I would recommend booking early we went during the week and it was very full. I you want a Windows seat or booth book that and book early. We will be going back and bring some friends with us next time

Upon arrival you’re greeted by a large, beautifully fitted out dining hall that looks fit for fine dining. Then we were approached by a man with a with a mouth full of food who was friendly enough, we were seated and seen too by lovely staff after that. We weren’t left waiting, with attentive service throughout our sitting, food was good and cooked as ordered. The service while good was not at the fine dining standard that’s implied by the status of the brand, the fit out of the resteraunt and the price. Having said that I would go back, and I did have a good time.

Glad to see Meat Wine & Co finally arrive in Canberra. Firstly I love the lively and business like atmosphere. We ordered a good range of entrees/snacks, mains and desserts. I would say overall the quality of the food is not bad and okish value for money. The main issue was the service, which was a little underwhelming and hopefully this will improve over time. Am keen to try the dry aged steaks next time!

The food at the Meat and wine Co serves very good quality meat. We thoroughly recommend their rib-eye steak medium rare and booking the ultimate steakhouse experience through red balloon which includes this option. It was absolutely delicious! Unfortunately, we can't say much about the management of the restaurant. If you don't want wait staff constantly reminding you that the kitchen is closing, i suggest to make a booking prior to 8.30pm. We made a booking on their website for 9:30 which was the only available slot on their website but an hour before we were to go there we got a call from the restaurant asking us if we could get to the restaurant at 8:45 as the kitchen was closing at 9:45. We made it to the restaurant well in time but despite trying to get to the restaurant early, we were constantly reminded of this past 9pm. At one stage, they plonked all our courses on the next table. I suggested to keep it under the heat lamp which they did but I was confused as to why they didn't do that in first place. I'm also confused why they allow bookings past 9pm if the kitchen closes at 9:45. My advice to customers is to make an early booking to enjoy the full experience.

They claim they're "the best steak restaurant in Canberra" so we thought we'd put them to the test! And they passed. Wow, did they pass! By far and away the best steak restaurant we've ever been too. Steak was cooked to perfection. Likewise the salmon. And great service too in a very fancy setting. Oh, and the Sticky Date Pudding was easily the best we've ever had.

Tried the express lunch on Friday around 3:30pm, 2 courses 39AUD Pros: Entrees are all amazing! Ordered aged steak and pork rib. But aged waygu didn’t surprise me. Maybe with truffle butter will be a higher level. Good thing is they’re all large plates. Love the salad dressing. Not sour at all. Cons: -never go there around late afternoon. Because staffs kept going outside and inside. The unstoppable wind made our food cold in one minute. -always can see a 👨🏻 sitting in the office because the doors opened. -Poor service. Please don’t vacuum the floor when customers still eating…

The best steak dinner I've had in many years. Tender but with that crust to the meat that you so rarely see. Juicy, delicious and accompanied by a thick mushroom sauce that worked very well to highlight the steaks flavours.

I guess ppl want to know whether this restaurant is overpriced or not. I can't decide myself, but think it's best for larger groups so you can try all the types of meat available. Caution when ordering the peri peri sauce. 🥵 Not OTT spicy but it's not the type of sauce you want to cover your steak in. Cons first: * Essentially a franchise. * Chips, salad and sauce doesn't look that fancy. * Aged steak or truffle steak is expensive. You can't order just 200 or 300g, you have to get the whole large portion. Maybe best for a bigger group. * Toilet located outside. Wear your jacket coz it's cold outside. * We could see a man's office right next to where we were seated and door was wide open. Pros: * Bloody good steak. Tender & juicy. * Sometimes all you want is chips, salad and steak. * Very filling. * Garlic bread and creme brulee amazing! ( See pics) Could have set a bit more, otherwise perfect. * Very good service. ( I don't know why the other reviews say bad service, I thought it was perfectly fine). * Well heated inside restaurant and nice fitout.

So far it's been the best steak in Canberra! I mean it's in the name but just a great atmosphere and service. The cocktails were great and they have wines at various price levels which was a pleasant surprise.

However, 5 star prices require five star service, lost one star due to the introduction of a server as "our server for the night" but then had 3 seperate people serve us, was waiting on drinks a couple of times that was, admittedly not super long, longer than expected. Still a great experience and will be going back soon.

This is the 2nd time I have wagyu, 1st time was in Sept just before the lockdown. This time, it’s a disappointment, it’s 500g and for $64 I would expect juicy and tender but it was dry. The person who served me 1:30pm Sat 11th Dec 2021 didn’t really take on my feedback even when I show them of the piece. I didn’t finish it. I won’t be trying this dish again. I will try the lamb skew and eye fillet. Let me know if you wanted further information.

We were staying at the A By Adina and thought we would pop in to see if there were any tables available for dinner. A very helpful gentleman booked us in right away with no dramas. When we arrived we were greeted by Suman who was our waiter for the night, he was very friendly and helpful. He gave us plenty of time to choose our meals but not too much that we were waiting for ages. We never had an empty glass and that includes our daughter's lemonade. Our daughter had the kids cheeseburger and she devoured the entire thing and said it was the best cheeseburger she had ever had. My husband had the Beef ribs and I had the fillet steak. Both were cooked beautifully and tasted amazing. We then had affogato for dessert and they even gave our daughter a scoop of vanilla icecream at no charge. Cannot complain about the service or the food at all, we were not rushed through the service and the staff were all very lovely. The only disappointing thing is the bathrooms. Having to walk outside and then into the public toilets wasn't what you would expect when dining at such a nice restaurant.

My husband and I had been waiting to try this restaurant since it was rumoured to be opening on the Kingston foreshore (but never went ahead). When we found out it would be opening in the city we made a booking for opening week. We've always been big fans of the meat and wine co in Sydney so our expectations were high. We arrived early for our lunch booking and were asked by a staff member to wait outside as they were not open yet. At 12 on the dot the doors opened and we were shown to our table. The decor and atmosphere was warm and comfortable the only thing that could be better are the views — but let’s face it... eyes are on the steak! Service was a bit slow to begin with because staff seemed very busy seating everyone arriving for the 12 pm booking time. For entree we ordered the bruschetta and the wagyu steak tartar. I would never usually order bruschetta at a steak house but prior to ever stepping in a meat and wine co my bruschetta expectations were low however I fell in love with the bruschetta I tried at the darling harbour location when it was open. That bruschetta was pimped out with a pesto base and balsamic reduction drizzled all over and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese... flavour explosion; so I hoped to have the same mouth drooling experience again but unfortunately — it was missing the balsamic. The steak tartare was perfectly balanced and both myself and hubby really loved the particular crispy bread crackers that it was paired with, would absolutely recommend it. For main we shared a 650 gram aged steak with a side of mash, pepper sauce and broccolini. We ordered our steak medium rare which was not quite as rare as we usually eat it. For us it was cooked medium, I’m not sure if there was something going wrong it the kitchen or if the way they cook it is different but it still tasted great. The mash was nice and creamy but if you’re not a fan of truffle make sure you ask more the them to 86 it because I didn’t realise and had a very offensive first bite (for me... not a fan ). The broccolini was fine - cooked so that it’s still crunch and had almond flakes on it. I would have liked more flavour but I guess they’re just there as a side really. Our waiter asked us if we wanted something to drink with our mains. We asked him what he would recommend and his response seemed very unsure and untrained eventually recommending a Pinot noir, however thankfully we saw him ask one of the other waiters who came over with a Shiraz from South Africa. Overall the food and wine was great, I would certainly recommend and go back for more

Personally, I had the meat and the wine and it was okay, for the price of a steak I would've hoped that they could work out meat temperature. My "New Yorker" was ordered as rare but came out on the medium side of medium rare. They're also somewhat pushy to get the cost of the bill up which I found off-putting. Lovely new restaurant in Canberra. Food and service were great. As with many other comments posted we were surprised by the water charge. We sat down and they asked us if we would like some water and we said yes but there was no choice and we didn't know there was a charge until we got the bill. Other than that I thought it was great and really enjoyed our meal.

The meals themselves were quite delicious. A few of us ordered the express lunch (available Mon to Sat) - a great variety of dishes, especially mains to choose from. The servings were really good even for express lunch. My steak was cooked as requested, and the peppercorn sauce actually had bite (not creamy sauce with peppercorns as decoration). My 5yo really enjoyed his cheeseburger. I tried a bit of the ribs and they were delicious. Our main server was very attentive, and was very knowledgeable in answering any questions we had. He appeared to be one of the more experienced wait-staff. I felt the experience was let down by a couple of things - mainly shown by the inexperience of some wait-staff. One of the waitresses came by with some drinks. Instead of asking whose drinks they were for, she just stood there, looked at us then proceeded to just put the drinks down. The same waitress came by with one of our meals (ribs). She had wanted to just reach over everyone to put the meal down (rather than walk around). I think it may be the same waitress but I felt judged towards the end of the meal. I noticed she looked at the floor under my toddler's seat (highchair) as she walked past, then talking to another of the wait-staff, looking over at our table several times. It may have just been a coincidence but it gave me the perception they were talking about my son (and possibly the mess under his highchair), which I didn't appreciate. There were a couple of chips and crumbs (I tried to pick up what I could). It won't stop me going back again, but I will definitely be observing to see if it happens again.
