The environment is good , however there is 15% sub charge in public holiday , which normally is 10% . Nevertheless, the food and service is good !

We went for a seafood buffet on Sunday during lunch time. While the staff are very attentive and helpful, I would have imagined the buffet options would have been more variable instead of just two fish options and some prawns and oyster. Otherwise the ambience is pleasant and enjoyable.

Wow, what a great buffet lunch - full of fresh produce - seafood, cold meats, vegetables, condiments. Then theres the hot food selection - soup, lamb shanks, ling fish, pasta, rice, assortment of breads. Followed up by a hugh range of sweets - bread & butter pudding, berries, cake, creme brulee, jellies, mousse, ice cream, lollies, marshmellows. So make sure you don't have breakfast, otherwise you will not be able to sample all of wonderful food on this menu. Great value, top atmosphere and great wait staff. If buffet is not your thing then try their High Teas.... Recommend for those special occasions.

Beautiful service. Went here for breakfast and it was lovely. The egg station is great, and they have lovely pancakes. Pricey, but that's what you should expect because of its location. It's a nice calm environment, which is great because you can actually hear the conversation you're having. I'd go back, but only for special treats, purely because of the price.

The service was tip top, the atmosphere lovely, we went in for the breakfast buffet, lots of opinions and the some of the food was beautiful. The waiters are attentive and polite. The only let down is the price, for the amount you pay you kind of expect everything to be fantastic, but some is just okay. Still definately worth a try if you want a big breakfast in a nice setting. To find the cafe you have to go into the reception through the front door, straight through the tables and keep going straight until you go past the piano, and then when you see black and white tiles you are there.

My favourite buffet In Canberra.

We have eaten here on several occasions. It's a lovely comfortable buffet style eating area situated at the back of the beautifully restored Hyatt Hotel. Entrance through the front of the Hotel is rather grand with lovely old trees and gardens surrounding the building. There seems to be plenty of parking, but it was busy during Floriade on one occasion we were there. It has good disabled access. It's a nice stroll through the centre to the Promenade Cafe. The food is good with hot and cold choices and a dessert stand. Maybe 6, hot food choices, plus cold meats, seafood, salads, the usual small buffet style selections. The food is always nice and there are plenty of dietary options, for allergies and intolerances. We like it because there is plenty of room, comfortable chairs, a beautiful outlook and reliable food with courteous staff.

Not as good as it used to be. My husband and I came here for our anniversary (which we do most years) and there is less seafood and there is minimal hot options available compared to previous years. The staff were absolutely amazing and were very accommodating, just a shame regarding the food...

Fantastic. The Hyatt Christmas Buffet did not disappoint. We actually went there for my birthday! The food choices are amazing. King prawns, crab, turkey, ham and the selection of desserts! Nom, nom, nom. The service was wonderful, the people so nice. They brought out a little birthday cake for me, the problem being that I had just had my fill at the aforementioned buffet. A lovely thought though.

It's a strange experience. Fancy food, and I guess it's of high quality but awkward service. Waitstaff stand in the corner with one arm behind their back, and if you get up to get something they run past and take your cutlery. It's all in the guise of trying to be posh, but it doesn't make for a comfortable eating experience. It's the sort of place you'd take someone to show off the building and to have an experience, but you'd never go for the food, or the service.

Food is fabulous and the service outstanding but there needs to be more choices in the lower price range. Only one choice on the menu at $35, everything else was more expensive. Not everyone who stays in the hotel has deep pockets and there is nowhere else to go within walking distance.
