Comments of Tikka Take
J. N.
Great Indian cuisine! We had a fantastic experience, it was our first time trying Indian and it was very tasty. The food leans on the stronger side of flavours, and there are spice indicators as well. The menus a bit overwhelming, but our server helped us understand it all. The restaurant has a nice open feeling - great atmosphere.

Havent tried much Indian restaurant, but were looking for something different in Canberra. Tikka Take took our interest, it was a big place with nice bar of offer. The service from staff were great, they were really helpful in recommending what was their speciality. Food came up real quick and was really tasty and fresh. The drinks we order weren't particular to our taste.
S.
Warning: if you are a person who struggles to make a decision when presented with a vast array of choice, then this is not the restaurant for you.
However you could just bask with the results of someone else doing the menu selections and enjoy the tasting.
Tikka Take takes familiar Indian cuisine and adds a touch of fun, flair, creativity and excitement to the dishes. Sure you can order regular samosas, naan bread, biryani, thali and vindaloo curries, though there are other less common to Australia delights such as idli, puri, dosa and chole bhature.
If you want a bit of western cuisine, there are fries and toasted sandwiches as well to keep you happy.
Want to crank it up a notch? Try the pineapple cheese jam sandwich Or chilli cheese fries.
Want to go a tad whacky? Now we're talkin'! There's butter chicken fries, schezwan idli, cheesy Mexican papadums, Nutella cheese ice cream sandwich, and more!
And that's not even mentioning the desert menu.
The dishes are full of flavour and nothing disappoints. But hey, on the odd occasion that one does, Tikka Take are more than happy to replace the dish with another free of charge.
Staff are friendly and eager to assist. Ordering is self done, where you write the code of the items you'd like to order on a small sheet. Your order is delivered relatively quickly and is well presented.
There is plenty of seating inside and out. Having said that, Tikka Take is busy and full of hungry patrons.
Go and venture in. You're intrigued and hungry now aren't you?

Headed here for something different. Food was good and had lots of flavours. Staff weren’t all that friendly and was a little confused if we were getting the steamed or fried dumplings. As lots of food was ordered, when placed on the table it was explained which meal was which. Overall pretty good place with lots of menu options and quite a big drink selection.

The quality of food, the staff has improved a lot than before. the new people have definitely brought a positive change to this restaurant which used to provide below average food and service before.
P. B.
Service was very fast and satisfactory. Foods were average in taste. Specially sizzler were not as per the expectations. Food quantity is less compared to other restaurants.

Best Indian food in Canberra. Service is good... Could be a bit better during busy times. The food is tasty. We would come here again.
25/01/22... We came here again and the food taste great. The service was much better. Keep up the good work.

Nostalgic Mumbai Street Food😍.. I have been craving for some delicious Indian street food specially from Bombay/ Mumbai where I come from...
So to satisfy my cravings for such hunger.. I always land upto my Fav Tikka Take ❤️
It has some amazing mouth watering Indian street food options along with authentic Indian cuisine from across the country..
My Fav are in frame : Vada Pav, Sev Puri, Veg Grilled Sandwich, Dabeli, Dahi Puri and last but not least Pani Puri.. Omg it was not only just visual and hit an awesome experience as always.
Thank you Team@TikkaTake for serving us in Canberra. Its located in the heart of the city. Worth trying the Indian experience! 😊👌👍

Food is ok. Some good some not!! Pretty disappointed with the main dish (chicken with nann) , which was tasteless!
J. H. P.
Definitely a good indian food, some dish would take really long time to come out (45 minutes), so be careful what are you ordering for.
R. N.
The food was very good but they need bring the food faster it took a 30 min wait for Al least two dishes out of 7. Most of the food that they had on the menu were not available. When we ordered a drink we only got one when we wanted two so we told the waitress and she came back 15 mins later and said that was the last one. But the food was really delicious and I would eat there again apart from the long wait
M. A.
Very tasty genuine Indian food. Great selection of food and drinks.
H. S.
Good place to have street food . They have raised their prices. Messed up with my order twice . Good for change of taste .

We visited the restaurant last Friday. It was quite busy, and we didn’t have any reservation. But staff somehow managed to provide us table outside. It was quite windy and cold outside. Food was so yummy though. We couldn’t finish our food, because it was windy and we couldn’t sit there any longer. However, when we just paid, one staff guy came there to check with us, that why we didn’t finish the food. He was wondering if you didn’t like the food, i gave him good feedback about everything. We appreciated the staff, as they try their best. Will definitely recommend the food 100% authentic taste
P. S.
Excellent modern indian food with interesting menu! tried heidarabadi chicken beryani dum, dosa, and mango lassi! All of them 5 star, recommended!
c. l.
Such a large, fun menu. Has something to please just about anyone. The drinks are great too. I’ve tried a vegetarian dish, samosas and biryani. The biryani was particularly good but be warned - it’s massive and perhaps best shared or you can request a takeaway container if needed.
n.
We have been here before and the food was great but service was so slow. This time we had a reservation. Waited for a table as we watch two waiters try and look after the entire place. Meanwhile the people with reservations and the line up of people without reservations kept mounting. In the end we left. Hire some more staff!
N. M.
The waitress was friendly and helpful. Service was quick The naans were the best we have had - not chewy. Palak panneer was yummy. Baingan bharta was a bit too salty. Portions were generous ( 2 naans ) which is good. The prices seem to have increased ($ 19 ) with the new menu but still good value for the variety and quality.
N. G.
Very good restaurant with a huge selection of entrees, mains, sides, and desserts from different cuisines -north Indian, rajasthani, maharashtrian, south Indian, Andhra Pradesh (Hydrabad), Indo Chinese and Nepalese. Best, they have kids menu with great portions for 6-8 year olds.
Our starters were all amazing, mains were great and desserts were awesome. Everything was authentic Indian.
We ordered masala papadum, masala puri, special masala pav, daal makhanai and paneer tikka with chilli coriander naans, biryani and from kids menu daal with rice and paneer butter masala with naan. For desserts we ordered gola, kesar pista faluda and rajbhog faluda.
Everything was awesome and well cooked. The only thing we DIDNOT like was biryani. It was bland and didn't taste like one. It was full of paneer though.
All in all a great experience and will definitely get back here. Totally recommended !!

The best Indian restaurant I've been to in my 8 years in Australia. It's a shame that I don't live in Canberra to visit this place everyday, will definitely visit again when I'm down here.

Booking: I have lived in Canberra for 11 years without ever having been to Tikka Take, until today. We made a booking online and I received multiple reminders as well as a link saying you can pre order the food. The text reminder said you could only dine for an hour. However, they didn't enforce this time limit today and anyway, the restaurant wasn't very busy.
For the drink, I ordered a mango lassi, which tasted ok. It was bright orange with more orange/red food colouring on top. I wonder if this was safflower but not sure. It also had some grainy bits ( pistachio? Spices? ) which I wasn't used to.
Ordering: I wanted to order the thali, but the waitress told me it was too big for one person and needed 2 people to order. It didn't specifically say that on the menu though. So instead I ordered the ulunthu vadai ( donut on the menu).
Taste: It was the most awful vadai I have tasted in my life. The inside is supposed to be soft and fluffy, but this was very hard and granular. There were 2 very large vadais but unfortunately, I couldn't eat either of them. Because of the texture, they had also soaked up a bit more oil instead of staying crispy on the inside and bready on the inside. I'm sorry, but what is this abomination? The sambar and green coconut sambal were just so so. The tomato and dahl chutney was the only thing I enjoyed.
Final comments: I'll come back to this restaurant and try something else. So far, I'm not particularly impressed. Tikka take has an extensive menu, but it's difficult to cook dishes from a variety of regions. I'm not sure which region the chefs are from. Maybe I should order their regional food or speciality next time.
N. P.
Food was amazing but i ordered a few things the BHINDI masala but the chef forgot to put the salt and chilli in that it was like I’m just having the onion and tomato masala but without any spices in it. Then the replaced it with new dish but that was also very bad in taste. But service was amazing good and rest of the dishes were superb.
J. K.
Outstanding South Indian cuisine. There were dozens of meals suited to various dietary requirements, such as gluten free etc. Food was served quickly and was easily the best tikka masala we've had. I'd recommend booking if you're planning on going on a Saturday night.
A. M.
We eat here every time we visit Canberra. Love the food and the choice on offer. Huge range of items to choose from and the service is always efficient.
P. M.
Awesome entrees, nice mains and fantastic dessert, must have experience if in ACT CBD. Avoid ordering Parantha, Biryani and masala paladin - they were a big let down.
S. B.
Service is really good. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the quality and quantity of the food.
The sizzler was not at all sizzling. Hakka noodle was excessively oily. Quantity was quite less. The rajwadi lassi was good but the syrup was having a synthetic flavour. It ruined the rest of the good work.
T. N. T.
There is always a line here from opening to close and we now get why.
Delicious authentic Indian food originating from various regions, quick service and reasonable price.
P. S.
The place was a definitely go again place. The food was great and reminds you of street food in India. Ambience was a mixture of a classy bar and city feel. Service and quality was execptional. They also had a wide range of cocktails and mocktails which is a rare combination to find together with any Indian cuisine. The only negative is you can just walk in unless you are happy to wait for half an hour or you have booking. The place get really busy on the weekend. Overall, a very nice experience.
S. G.
Love the food ! Their Hyderabadi chicken biryani is the best. This is our go to place whenever we visit Canberra. Hope they open an outlet in Sydney
G. S.
One of the best Indian food i have had in Australia till now. Amazing tasty dishes from a wide variety of menu served in a nice ambiance.
Was visiting Canberra for 3 days and ended up eating here everyday.
Would recommend to try if you are around!!
J. M.
I absolutely loved this place! A great modern presentation of traditional cuisine. I have not been excited like this about a restaurant lately. But the taste is there too 👍
P. V.
Lovely food with awesome quality and perfect quantity. You just need two tummies to relish it thoroughly🥰🥰🥰
E. J.
The ambiance was electrifying. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Canberra. The food was incredible. Food came out in a reasonable time, piping hot and super fresh.
H. K.
I really enjoyed my food today. Food quality and service style is amazing, special thanks to preet the way she help me in menu and serve me with a smile.
Thank you so much tikka take
Always perfer to come her
G. B.
Lot of variety on the menu but the food tastes no more than average.
Very busy on the weekends. Fail to understand why it gets so busy since their food is average.
S. T.
Last weekend had food at this place ,
Service is really awesome & the staff are so friendly
Highly recommended to all, if you in this town you will have a gr8 time at Tikka Take
F. K.
For Indian Cuisines, Tikka Take is the only place I’ll recommend in the entire ACT. They prepare some authentic Indian dishes; do try their Dosas and you’ll thank me later.
D. P.
Pleasantly surprised. I had the chicken vindalloo, great heat, awesome flavor.
Will try to return during my stay.
J. L.
Delicious dishes, Welcoming staffs, and modern designed Indian restaurant.
Pros
- Curries, Naan, Tandoori chicken, and Thali were excellent
- Kids menus are pretty good
Cons
- A bit of disappoint with Tap beer, especially ‘Tikka Take Pale Ale’ - weak and watery taste
- Bit pricy per dish - small amount of food
- Only 1 tiny mini prawn in a Goan curry bowl of Thali 😳
Recommended! (not beer on tap)
A. H.
Nice otentic Indian food. There are lots of varieties with rice or naan. The sevice is a bit rude but mainly because they are busy. We have it for take away and eat by the lake.
N. S.
The food was so delicious, the restaurant is quite busy, it’s a bit cold when you sit outside. Better to make a reservation in advance.Their manager Siddharth was awesome. Even though the restaurant was so busy his hospitality was really commendable. 5 stars for the food and Siddharth. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
S. B.
great place for Indian fast food.. also really good with party orders. Krishna ensures everything is upto the mark on party orders.

My wife and I had always wanted to try Tikka Take, especially since the aromas coming out of the restaurant are 🔥🔥🔥 Visiting tonight for the first time, we asked if we could be seated, were told that we couldn't be seated for at least an hour, and opted for takeaway. While waiting the twenty minutes in the cold of winter for our order to be ready, we watched at least three other customers come in later than us and receive seating. Anyway, I trust you'll forgive my photos of our takeaway, considering the food wasn't piping hot when we got home. Despite that, the food was delicious. The butter chicken was rich and flavourful, and perfect with the tandoori roti I ordered with it. My wife thought her chicken tikka masala was even better than my butter chicken, with deeper, more complex flavours. I'm sure we'll be back. And maybe next time, we'll be seated.
A. C.
Really loved this place. We had several dishes, and all were amazing! Loved it. Tasty and quality food! We will definitely come back.
A. L.
The staff was lovely and friendly too. Top-notch! The meals are so so well priced. If we lived in Canberra I would be here all the time.
D. S.
Deserves a 5 star rating....
Taste, staff, service, price!! Everything is good. Just the restrooms are not that good.
S. K.
Great service, good ambience and lovely staff. All our dishes were done very well as per our likings excpet the chicken vindaloo. Good place to enjoy the authentic Indian cuisine in Canberra.
S. B.
This is a MUST VISIT place every time am in Canberra! Restaurant has definitely managed to keep up the taste despite of offering so many indian delicacies on their menu.
Have tried most of the chat varieties - Samosa chat, masala puri, bhel, Chinese bhel etc etc.
My favourites are Khasta Kachori and Dabeli - BEST I have tried anywhere in the country so far!
This place is always crowded when we drive there from Sydney during weekends so you may have to wait for sometime...they say they take phone bookings but don’t answer the phone during busy period :-) if you are a fan of Indian chat food items then this is the place for you. I wouldn’t recommend trying Momos there though, last time I had group of 10 friends and no one liked it. Misal paav I found way too spicy but depends on how much spice you can handle so you may like it :-) South Indian food too seemed good!
Service is excellent and the staff generally seem willing to help you which is great. Waiting for next Canberra trip and reuniting with my beloved Khasta kachori ;-)
A. K.
Great food with amazing flavours!
Interesting choice of drinks and plenty of awesome desserts!
Extremely slow service; despite pressing the button 3 times, I phsyically had to hold up the order sheet for 10 mins before anyone came by.
We had 3 dishes served and about 10 mins after 3/4 people had finished eating, the last dish was served.
o. g.
The most delicious Indian I've ever eaten. Good service, better food. If you haven't gone there, you're missing out
I. N.
The food was of high quality and authentic preparation. Friendly atmosphere. We were served with warmth and sincerity and helpful suggestions.

Vibrant fun-loving place. Great service and friendly helpful staff. Delicious food served well.
A. H.
INCREDIBLE FOOD! Super delicious, came very quickly, friendly staff and the food is out of this world. Its all delightful
V. O.
Love the butter chicken and fries. I always wait out, else my clothes will cover with the Indian Curry, No offence.
S. P.
Best Veg thali I had and excellent service. The food was very tasty
Thank you 🙏
v. K.
Amazing service, great quality food and affordable prices! What else do you need? Bhavani plays an amazing host while you relish your meal.
PS: Make a booking or else you will end up standing in line seeing other eat their food.
My favs

Booking: I have lived in Canberra for 11 years without ever having been to Tikka Take, until today. We made a booking online and I received multiple reminders as well as a link saying you can pre order the food. The text reminder said you …
I. M.
Eventful night - ordered at 6:30pm, order didn't arrive until 9:15pm. Turned out it was the delivery driver who went MIA. The restaurant itself was amazing and very apologetic. Despite the rough wait, still one of the best places to eat in Canberra.
M.
Everything is amazing. As soon as you walk in you get absorbed in the beautiful aroma! The customer service is brilliant and the atmosphere is very relaxed and professional, very good feeling to sit there and see a clean and organised kitchen where the food is being prepped, the staff look like they really enjoy each other’s company and love the job.
B.
One of the best places in Australia that I have had indian food at. Right from their masala chai to dessert, everything is delicious.
S. A.
Food was really amazing! Spacious, centrally located, and clean. Will definitely be returning. Make sure you book as it's always full!
L. R. K.
You want to try authentic spicy and aromatic Indian Food then put Tikka Take on Ur list of "must try".
I love spicy food and this is definitely my favourite place. The chicken Biryani gets a 100 from my side. A must try.
The menu has a variety of dishes. Its neat clean place with a friendly staff. Next time in Canberra CBD and in a mood of spicy & delicious & mouth-watering food then this is the place.
s. p.
Beautiful place and very delicious food. Had chats and roti curry worth it. Fast serving and polite staff. Recommended place for family and friends.
S.
Been consistent with quality of food served the few times we have been. Seemed to have a new manager this afternoon, very courteous gentleman
M. K.
Great Indian food with a modern twist. The staff are fantastic. Went to dinner on my birthday. I was offered dessert with a birthday candle on the house. Appreciated the gesture. Highly recommended.
C. C.
This is the best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. Quick and friendly service. Pages and pages of options to choose form. Some great twists on Indian and western food such as butter chicken. French fries and papadum nachos!!! You write down your orders which keeps the service moving quickly. The curries had great flavour profiles! I will definitely be going back!!
s. s.
Visited Canberra on a holiday from California. Tikka take and Siddharth made my visit awesome with their food and service.
I. N.
The food was of high quality and authentic preparation. Friendly atmosphere. We were served with warmth and sincerity and helpful suggestions.
B. A.
Great value for money.
Extremely large menu and everything looks good so expect spending a lot of time picking something to eat.
Dinner is usually pretty busy and noisy.
Service is through writing down on paper and then ringing a bell. Double check the code you write down cause it can be wrong sometimes.
K. T.
Delicious dinner food, recommend getting a few different dishes and sharing, that way you get to taste a range of yummy dishes - all had great flavour and some heat! Definitely recommend for dinner! However, dessert is not the best here. The restaurant got pretty busy while we were here so the service slowed down a little bit but not bad at all!
N. P.
So many spices & flavours! We come to Canberra often & this is our go to place. The Thali set with the curries are fantastic & the lamb biriyani was beautiful. The new chai masala tea is a must try & the mango lassi is a definite order.
H. B.
Decent place for trying out variety of indian and indo chinese dishes. If you looking for variety this is the place to be however they might not deliver on taste. North Indian dishes seem to fare better than South Indian ones. Ambience is casual and staff courteous. They have a simple system for ordering where you give written list of codes from the menu. However they still seemed to miss one with a prompt offer to compensate with a complimentary dish. If the food quality improves certainly can qualify for a 5 star. Would recommend try might be you get lucky.
C. D.
Ordered chicken vindaloo with naan. Great flavours and delicious curry. Not as hot as I would have liked but very good. Also ordered the lamb skewers. Lamb was a bit tough but the flavours were fantastic.
Service is ok
Will go again.
P. C.
The food was excellent, yummy, and had great serving sizes. The staff was so friendly and great with kids. I thoroughly enjoyed this place!!
N. F.
Special and different indian restaurant. Food is very good and huge variety.
The only problem - very crowded.
A.
Great Indian food, really enjoyed the Indo-Chinese. The pani puri (a classic Indian street food dish) while not as amazing as the authentic Indian one, was still very close to home and tasted really good. The quantity of the dishes was just right as well. The ambience of the place was lovely and the customer service was nice. The cocktails were great too. Would definitely recommend for good Indian food and a good time!
P. C.
When it opened there USP was Tikkas and the machine which made it. Sadly, that didn't go too well and the tikkas were not great. Many a times undercooked. Now they have started Indian street food which I have to admit is pretty good and flavourful. It's definitely worth paying a visit now.
O. M.
Great menu loads of variety and every dish was delicious. A fresh take on Indian food. We will return.
C. M.
We've spent a lot of in India over several years and this is the best Indian we've ever had outside India. Highly recommended and will be going back tonight just to make sure it was that good!!
J. W.
Really enjoyed every dish we ordered. Great flavour and heat level. Will be back the next time we visit Canberra.
M. T.
Excellent food and service. My kids want to go back over and over as they love interacting with the staff who has always been great with them and always suggests some new stuff to try.
M. T.
Food was absolutely amazing! Will definitely be returning. Make sure you book as it's always full!
a. c.
The Thali was worth every $, the shakes were really good and all other dishes were top-notch in flavour. Would recommend this place and we will be back.
J.
I have not been excited like this about a restaurant lately. A great modern presentation of traditional cuisine. I absolutely loved this place!👍
T. m.
Highly recommended if you wanna treat your tastebuds with delicious foods without spending a fortune. Customer service was excellent. Very happy to add it to my little 'halal food places' list.
L. H.
Walking past this place you get overwhelmed by a delightful aroma that draws you in. Lovely food which is well priced, explains why they are always busy. Staff do well shuffling people around, and always with a smile. The menu is extensive, all indian street food types. Lots of veggie options 🌱🌱🌱 I'm sure you could easily amend to be vegan too. Opted for a thali set, entree and vadai. Have been a number of times trying out new menu items (only vegetarian options) All pretty good, some are better than others as a couple lack flavour. Would recommend as a decent option for in the city that isn't ludicrously expensive and heavy food like down the road 👍👍👍
J. J.
Great food, such an extensive menu and value for money as well. Highly recommend the thali for people that like to share and want to experience a variety of flavours.
V. O.
Love the butter chicken and fries. I always wait out, else my clothes will cover with the Indian Curry, No offence.
R. D.
Food was really good but the best thing was the services from Sidhart. He is the best person i have ever seen in my life. I would give 10/10 for the services he provided.
D. D.
Food was surprisingly tasty but service was a bit lackluster. Can't complain at these prices though and I love the incredible variety in how they offer quite a few different cuisines. Hyderabadi biryani is definitely recommended.
The puri was too oily for my taste and it didn't have any filling but the ras malai desert brought a smile to my face and rounded off a filling and reasonable meal!
A. H.
INCREDIBLE FOOD! Super delicious, came very quickly, friendly staff and the food is out of this world. Its all delightful
h. j.
Smell and ambiance is good...but food totally depends on how lucky you are and how crowded is the place...
Initially it was good but slowly taste went down ☹️☹️
Because if the place is crowded food is not so great...
I have visited so many times and tried so many different things but trust me it's different always...
Same dish will taste different everytime....
Also tried doing take away OMG ITS WORST....😖😖😖
N. J.
Pani puri and masala dosa was really great. Didn't like the lamb biriyani.
N. K.
Visited Tika take last week. I was hosted by a guy named Sid. He was so polite and gentle. Got our food on proper time. Will visit again. Thankssss!!!!
P. K.
Nice busy vibe, quick and attentive service, good food, surprisingly the chats were quite good, curries and naans were ok, i would stay away from the microwaved biryanis.
A. N. M.
I ordered the food when the restaurant was nearly closing for day. The staff was very nice, they still welcomed me and took my order very patiently. Thumps up for the staff.
I just tried Chole batore, which were nice.
V. D.
The meal was outstanding. Excellent place if you are interested in eating authentic street food from India and outstanding Chai.
J. P.
Good Indian food although it’s a bit to much of a fast food joint for me. With such a large menu in order to get everything out on time a lot of it seems to be pre made. This place smells incredible from the street and it’s always packed
S. B.
Love Tikka Take for a casual dinner. Recommend sitting outside if you don’t want to smell like curry. Very tasty foods and cheap drinks - faves are the butter chicken, tikka masala and masala dosa - keeping it basic b*tch style. Drinks are great but be prepared to wait.
T. M.
I loved the broad selection of different Indian food styles. Staff was accommodating us during very busy Saturday dinner.
R. S.
We were unsure about this place because they had items like Indian pizza and fries. But wow-o-wow. This place was fantastic!! We tried quite a few dishes which were all good, but the standout extra special ones were the Dahi puri and the samosa chaat. Wish we had ordered more puri plates since the dahi was so fantastic.
Naan was a bit weak, but who cares when the rest is this good?!
N. J.
The best Indian street food. We loved every single dish we ordered, we went to Tikka Take for dinner when.
J. P.
I love d Food,,, and all starter was Amazing..,
Highly recommended to go for Lunch or Dinner...
Also has alcohol serve as well... 😉😉
,,Another Visit to have some delicious food, and Experience was 5 Start... food was Amazing and Taste like yummy....
D. B.
Looked cool from the outside so went in for lunch. Early impression was very organized Indian food joint with an express service. Mango Lassi and papdi chaat were stand out.. the rest was ok. The momos were very chewy(won't recommend), also took the longest to come out. In a busy hour, be prepared to wait for getting in and then wait again to pay for your meal.
H. N.
Really enjoyed our evening out at Tikka Take, what started as a bit of a wait (it's really popular on the weekends, so book a table), ended up being a really fun night out!! The food is very reasonably priced, freshly made and really tasty.... I highly recommend the Masala Dosa, it's superb!!
E. S.
Lovely food, great ambiance. My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed the food. Outstanding!

There was a long queque for this place but it was worth the wait. Delicious food and good staff. Will def visit again.. I wish your chain was there in Sydney!
M. A. S.
Excellent menu, delicious food customer friendly service. Hopefully people will enjoy their delicious food.
P. P.
The food was really tasty. You can really enjoy the Indian flavor which is not easily available in Canberra. The parking is accessible through scotts crossing.
R. S.
Food is good but definitely has taken a step down since change of ownership/ menu as food used to be awsome
K. K.
Always incredibly friendly and helpful! I have been going to Tikka Take regularly, it's easily our favourite place to eat in the area
N. J. D. S.
Extensive menu, wonderful prompt service most of all great Pav bhaji and Masala chai.
Note: All takeaway containers are biodegradable which is also a plus!

So much potential, but just didn’t go beyond average. Service was slow. They mixed up our order. No one seems to be in charge of the door or the staff. Food was okay. Nothing bad. Just nothing amazing either.
W. J.
Amazing food and service, great service, and spot-on recommendations. We loved the variety of mocktails, will definitely be back!
R. J.
We were visiting Canberra from Melbourne. So, we really didn't have any expectations from this restaurant to begin with. But I gotta say we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a few dishes. From taste to presentation, everything was nice. Food was a tad bit spicier for us even though we had asked for mild flavors. Still, we enjoyed the food. Therefore, we give it 4 stars and recommend Tikka Take to others.
P. C.
Authentic, delicious, innovative and wholesome. Perfect for a hot date, dinner with the folks or a catch up with old friends.
S. D.
Yummy food as always but their service needs to improve. We were wsitinh behind 2 others for 10 minutes before anyone noticed ys. Just one single harassed looking waitress running around.
Lots of tables available but they insisted on seating us at table for two.
Come on guys, get mire whist staff in so we csnvenjoybthe food better! 😋😕

We were in Canberra for a foodie weekend and whilst our friends decided to go to an expensive hatted restaurant for a degustation, we were looking for something cheap and cheerful. We found Tikka Take via a google search and we are so glad we did. Located in the centre of Canberra CBD, the friendly service and quality food proves you don’t need fine dining to leave a restaurant happy and satisfied (nor with empty wallets).
Tikka take could be described as a modern street food style restaurant. Order at your table via a piece of a notepad, press the table buzzer and presto, the waitstaff come. All the staff here were super friendly and helpful and extremely efficient.
The menu here is predominantly Indian food but they draw on flavours from Central Asia and India, featuring some options from other countries such as Nepal. There’s rice and curries, biryani, naan, Thali, chaat, paratha as well as Himalayan and Indo Chinese favourites. The menu is extremely extensive. There’s kids options and desserts too.
The word ‘Tikka’, after which the restaurant is named (also known as ‘Teeka’ or ‘Teekka’) refers to skewered pieces of meat cooked over fire. This technique is used around the world for kebabs, yakitori and in plenty of cultures’ cooking. You can watch the chefs cook this way, as well as preparing curries and making dosa.
We ordered a Thali, which is essentially a platter, arranged in multiple small plates, filled with a variety of items. Each Thali consists of 2 Curries of your choice, 1 Daal & 2 Naans of your choice accompanied by mini papadum, mini samosas, salad, raita, rice and gulab jamun dessert. This is such a great way to enjoy many of their dishes in a tasting style manner. For $30, it is also incredibly good value.
We also ordered a South Indian Favourite, the Idly Sambhar, or round fluffy and steamed rice cakes served with a delicious lentil soup and a side of chilli and chutney. This was so delicious in every way, I actually ordered a second one.
We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant and definitely plan to return next time.
N. R. G.
Takka take will blow your taste buds away. The food here is the real deal. They have managed to bring the fast food straight from the streets of India on a plate here in Canberra. Kudos to the team and well done.
F. A.
Authentic, fresh flavours. Fantastic menu. Great service and good prices!
S. T.
Loved the music and the atmosphere. The service was great and the food was amazing! Highly recommended!

Fast friendly service and amazing food. Our kids loved it, as did we. Highly recommend.
H. S.
Biryani and butter chiken were so yummy! And cardamon chai is to die for 😋😋😋
A. H.
Absolutely great food, over 250 menu items to choose from. Prompt, and very, very reasonable prices. We have been going 3 times a week since we found them, best Indian food in Canberra 👍
L.
Great food, good value, super tasty & seemed fairly authentic. Served quickly, casual dining - good option for a quick meal. Definitely try the dosa!
M. A.
Skip the tandoori fish, everything else was great
Butter chicken and paneer tikka masala
A. A.
There are so many things to try and that’s why it takes to long to decide. Anyways, I would recommend their Papri-Chat to try and rest is alright.
S. P.
Best Veg thali I had and excellent service. The food was very tasty
Thank you 🙏
J. W.
Delicious food. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!
D.
Wow! What a find! So much choice on the menu. Tasty. Cheap. Very clean and modern. Fast and friendly service. You press a button to get service. Highly recommended!
d. s.
the best Indian flavours in town, different options of food. definetely a worth of try.
L. S.
We ate their masala puri, butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. All the food was quite good. Portions were on the smaller side.
C. M. (. O.
Great place. Food was good. The variety in the menu was amazing. The fusion food is just so creative. Something for everyone. Service was great. Would happily eat there again.
J. B.
I've only ever order takeaway from here, I get there at the expected time and still have to wait an additional 30 minutes. Everything seems disorganised.
Z. S.
Best for Indian street food style in Canberra!
E. S.
Always incredibly friendly and helpful. It's easily our favorite place to eat in the area.
T.
Great Indian food at a reasonable price. This is coming from a Sydneysider. When you see Indians eating at an Indian restaurant, that's a give-away that the food is good. Definitely visit again next time we come down to Canberra!
A. R.
The food was really great especially South Indian and the service was very quick.
J. H.
Genuinely the BEST Indian meal I’ve ever had, anywhere. Cannot miss this in Canberra.
b. l.
Didnt expect it to be so delicious as it is rarely very busy. The vada Pao was definately better than the ones ive tried in india. Will definately keep coming back.
B. I.
Thumbs up for the staff. The staff was very nice, they still welcomed me and took my order very patiently.
R. B.
The service was brilliant. The food is fantastic. Thank you for a lovely experience.
B. G.
Very reasonably priced and the food is excellent - I can't really speak for the authenticity, but it's one of those rare places that have an extensive menu and you will still walk out happy irrespective of what you order. The aroma of the place as you enter from the street is also pretty unique for Canberra.
W. T.
During a last minute trip to Canberra, we dined at Tikka Take. Although they were very busy we managed to get a table outside without a prior booking. The menu was quite extensive and the staff very polite and attentive. We sought the advice of what to order from two Indian girls sitting on the next table, as they were regulars to this restaurant. The food was delicious, more authentic than our local Indian restaurant in Sydney, a good size portion and very reasonably priced. Will definitely dine there again next time I am in Canberra.
R. W.
Food is delicious and service is very good. Everything we had was amazing 👏
F. H.
Busy Friday evening but managed to get a table. Large share meals were delicious and staff were all friendly. Didn't get orientated to the ordering system when seated but worked it out eventually. Options galore and veg/gluten free friendly.
A.
Woahhh I won’t gas them up but this place is on fire!!! Soooo many choices and so friendly customer Service!! There’s something for everybody and the prices are very decent! Really worth it, 11/10 would recommend!
E. H.
My wife and I have been to Tikka Take twice now and we haven't met a dish we didn't like - and many we loved! It's been fun getting to know lots of street food which we haven't seen anywhere else. I'm also really enjoying exploring their range of Falooda desserts which I've never found on a restaurant menu in Australia before. Also, if you like lassi then I'd certainly recommend their mango which is served with a touch of pistachio on top - delicious! With their interesting, yummy food and friendly service I'm very happy to recommend this restaurant.
D. B.
They made our day very special with their smile and warm greeting. Fantastic place and amazing service😊
L. T.
The food is is delicious, different from other Indian food I have had. There was bit of confusion with our orders, but otherwise a very good dining experience.
A. E.
The most incredible India food I have tried outside of India. Extensive menu and truly authentic. I've not found anything quite like it in all of Australia.
R. R.
Great food. Service disappoints. Staff needs to be trained better. The chef seems to be making up for some very ordinary service staff. Pricey, but food is awesome. At $30 for thali, it was perhaps the most pricey one I have come across in Australia.
R. Y.
Taste ok. Lamb curry not as tender as expected.
T. A.
Amazing Indian restaurant with amazing decor! Great for having indian street food! The crispy fries were the bomb. I had just arrived from Melbourne and was hungry so forgot to take pictures.
M. R.
The food quality is always great. If anyone is not tight on time and would like to spend time while waiting for food, this is the place. But crowded most of the times and the reason is simple, food.
R. D.
Visiting Canberra a few weekends ago we struggled to find anywhere with room for walk ins for dinner on a Friday night, walked down the street and looked in to this lovely Indian place - it seemed pretty quiet and briefly looked at the menu but what drew us in was the mouthwatering smells from the kitchen that wafted out of the door as we walked past. We ordered the Thali share plates with our choices of curries and dahl - this place is a hidden gem in the heart of Canberra. We rolled our selves back to the hotel that night, I don’t think I’ve ever had an Indian Feast quiet so wholesome.
10/10 definitely coming back if we’re in Canberra again.
M. S.
Excellent staff Excellent food but.... slow!! Understandably because in Canberra most are "foodies" and the food at Tikka Take is Excellent....
A. I.
Wow loved it, the atmosphere the food quality, Y aren't you guys in Sydney ?
B. G. (. S. G.
Great Indian food in cbd! Awesome attention! Highly recommended!
B. C.
Staying in Canberra, walked past a few times going back to the hotel and the smell from the street was amazing!
Went for dinner and it did not disappoint. Service was great and the food was just as expected. Good price for the servings.
Will be back!
K. K.
One of the best place in Canberra we like most. delicious food. I visiting Canberra with me family for 4 days and ended up eating here everyday.
Would recommend to try if you are around
B. M.
The food was really good..Have tried many Indian restaurants in Sydney but Seriously the best Indian restaurant that i have ever been. The food was lovely..Not too much oily and spicy like the other Indian restro's.Staff were very nice especially the little,( i think Nepalese )waitstaff and even the service was really fast..Nice cabins inside for big groups as well.I would definitely recommend others and i will surely visit again when im in Canberra.Really made my day.
Thank You Tikka Take for the lovely food and hospitality..
A. C.
Food is really really good... If you are in Canberra, it's a must place to visit!! 👌👌👌👌
g. b.
Service was so efficient. Was greeted immediately at the door, had a buzzer on the table to request service, and the staff continually checked in to see if we needed anything. Food was delicious. Amazing tender meat. Even though there was a delay with my meal, the staff communicated this so I felt completely satisfied.
P. F.
Service was slow. Food was nice. Seating is far to close to other tables
V. K. (.
Totally worth traveling from sydney to Tikka Take for lunch. Amazing food and hospitable staff!
D. I. W.
Really nice Indian food after a long long time!! Great food, Lovely staff, awesome presentation... Enjoyed the night!! Thank you Tikka team❤❤❤
B. C.
A wide variety of Indian food including street food, southern cuisine, Thalis and the standard Punjabi fare. Excellent value for money, long opening hours and helpful staff. A great place to snack or have a full meal. The range of Indian soft drinks is also impressive.

Visiting Canberra a few weeks ago
Food was good and customer service was awesome
D. N.
Been going here from the past 2 years. Love the vibe and food. Friendly staff.
M. B.
Vaste and excellent choice of authentic street and traditional Indian food from roti, to parata, dosa, thali. Worth a visit!
P. A.
I would recommend to call tikka take once you have placed your dine-in order to confirm if the order has been received. This will only give you peace of mind but also you will get an assurance that order has been received.
Placing a dine - in order and reserving the table online saves time on busy days.
We had to wait on our last visit even after placing the order online however the staff were friendly and got most of our order served to us quickly. Thank you for the service.
G. R.
Thanks, for the great service. Great place, authentic taste good and such a wonderful staff.
J. -. y. B.
Vibrant fun-loving place. Great service and friendly helpful staff. Delicious food served well.
G. L.
Check your takeaway for all items. Poor service. Tasty food though at a reasonable price.
Edit: The restaurant contacted me by reply email, letting me know the email had fallen into spam and are processing a refund for the missing items. If my next order goes well, I’ll update my review to remove the negative experience.
Original review:
I made a takeaway order on a busy Sunday night with a curry, rice, naan and a chaat. When I arrived after twenty minutes, I was advised it would be another 10-15 minutes so I did some grocery shopping. I returned and collected my order. When I got home I discovered the chaat ($10) was missing. They didn’t answer their phone or an email about the missing items.
Food was tasty and what food I received was reasonably priced.
P. V.
Have been there twice in our interstate holidays. Tikka take food is outstanding, totally lipsssmackingg. They serve a variety of Indian food, all the dishes we ordered were up to the mark. Can’t wait to be there again.
A. V.
Amazing food, well prepared, fast service. Our favorite place for Chaat and Falooda.
a. b.
Absolutely delicious food! Everythting we tried was freshly made and lip smacking. And Rukshar is the best - she made our experience even more wonderful with her smile and super friendly attitude. We are from Sydney and wouldn't mind driving back to Canberra for Tikka Take.
n. p.
Food is good, but felt cojusted.
D. C.
Food was on point (5star) when we finally got it after a 45 minute wait. Restaurant was about half full. Once shown a table we weren't not told about the ordering process of writing your order on a piece of paper, waiter was hard to get ahold of and not really interested in stopping to check if everything was okay. Basic cutlery wasn't around and had to chase down. Sat between 2 dirty tables for 90% of the time we were there. Will go back for the take away food but attention to detail is something that has to be strongly recommended for the restaurant environment.
M. W.
Food and service is great as always. A very popular restaurant, make sure you make a booking.
The only negative thing I can think of is that they use heaps of plastic straws here for the drinks. It would be much more environmentally friendly if they switch to paper or bio-degradable straws.
N. S.
Loved it. Beautiful place and tasty food. Yumm
v. p.
Amazing place, the one which has made us settle in a new city so soon. The foodies like us find home in warm hospitality and great taste, both which we find each time we visit Tikka Take. Rukhsar is one of the people to wear a smile all times and ensures we have a great time here only to leave and longing to come back next .
I.
Delicious food. Great variety of dishes.
A. H.
Loved the atmosphere. The service was great and the food was amazing 💕
Highly recommended.
K. K.
A new place to try out and the food finally tastes Indian. Lots of spacing and new innovative menu items. Love the tikka skews. The biryani can be improved as the rice is not basmati. The chips and samosas are awesome. Perfect to have hot Indian chicken sticks on a cold canberra night. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable.
R.
We ordered Gulab Jamun it tastes like burned oil. Obviosuley, it was not fresh oil and so diapointin. I give three stars for food quality and for cleaness. I've ordered red wine my glass was not shiny and I feel is wasn't washed properly. We went there twice but I think we won't go again.
Also, Thali platter is too pricy considering amount of food.
T. G. j.
Everything was cooked beautifully and tasted so nice!
We will definitely come back!
T. T.
Food is always tasty. So much variety on the menu and very affordable. Definitely recommend.
M. A.
Best Indian restaurant in the area. Great service. Great food.

Me and my friend visited Canberra from Melbourne.
This place is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool but the staff is also really friendly.
This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious Indian dishes, beautiful Chaat presentation, wide royal faluda list and wonderful dessert. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again.
P.S. The Mumbai Masala Cheese Dosa was Fire!!🔥🔥

Really delicious curry n the best garlic naan bread I have tasted in a long while.it was so fresh , crispy at the edges n moist n tasty in the centre!! Perfect!!
The waitress was lovely n attentive.
We went for a snack but wish we had time for dinner next time.
Definitely get your curry fix here!!👏🏻👏🏻

Really enjoyed the food, very delicious, perfect place to dine in. Thank you
P. M.
Waited for 1 hour for a table.
Because we are Indian , we were treated ba.
Racism at its best.!
Will never recommend to anyone.
Update: changing my reviews from 1 stars to 3 stars.
Visited after 2 months: food was good but the chai( Indian team) was wonderful.
Never visit them without a booking.
Today they were empty tables inside(nearly for 1 hour) but customers without a booking were shown outside sitting area in the cold Canberra weather.
Conclusion: will never recommend to anyone.
D. M.
Hi,
Always in love with the food at Tikka Take.
Me and my family and friends always love to come here when it comes to have Indian cuisine.
I want to give my feedback just to please add Soya Chaap recipe in there menu. As it's very nice dish and popular in India for dinner or lunch with naan bread.
N. J.
Pretty well priced and super friendly staff. Great food and fast service.
R. H.
Amazing place, authentic taste, and such wonderful staff.
Thanks for the great service.
S. S.
Would definitely recommend this place if you’re craving for Indian street food but not for the authentic Indian curry meals. Restaurant has a lot to offer me improve in that area as of now. We went in 2 weeks back on a Friday night and it was completely booked.
The only funny thing I noticed that, they were not serving any dessert after dine in. The only option was a takeaway. Upon asking for the reason, the staff said, “ we are not serving desserts due to COVID!!!”
L. O.
Food is beautiful to look at and delicious. Can't wait to try other dishes. Ordering system is cute too.
K.
Such friendly service and food was served quickly and was delicious! Great place
A. P.
Service is not good.
One of the ordered dish never arrived till very late, had to cancel.
Naan arrived 15 mins before the curry, that also came after couple of reminders.
Food is decent if you manage to get your order.
P. K.
Best place in Canberra to have authentic Indian Street food and delicacies. The food is really tasty and the ambiance is really good. Been there twice and will definitely a must visit whenever we are in the city.
B. S.
I have returned to Tikka Take 3 times since I first went a month ago. It has the top trifecta of affordable prices, good staff and atmosphere, and delicious and diverse food. I always order the pani puri, and the 'indian burgers' are to die for.
Will remain a regular.
S. A.
Excellent food great people will be back again!
Highly recommend
k. k.
Food = Good
Ambience = Decent
Service = Good
Management = Worst Business model
They literally ask you to leave within less than a hour from the time you get the table. The more customers they serve the more customers $$$$ but almost every one i spoke to about their experience they have confirmed that they have been asked to leave as well.
Tikka take is good for take away atleast you can enjoy the food and not be pressured to devour your food...
N. S.
I really enjoyed visiting Tikka Take for the first time. It was super clean, good ambience/setting presented in the restaurant and the service was great. The staff were super friendly and the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommend this place if you love Indian food.
D. M.
Great food. Good portions. Reasonably priced.
C. G.
Delicious and affordable food. Friendly staff. Highly recommend to others. 👍
S. B.
Great food! I was a little unsure about their chilli fries as I find places that normally try do something special with fries fail. However Tikka Take nailed it! Well done! They are a nice and spicy 😍
T. B.
Good food, great service. But waited too long to pay the bill. All the staff was busy on Monday night. Will be back.

Excellent Indian food. Very authentic taste. Super vibrant ambience and friendly staff. Must go!

Overall good restaurant in Canberra for Indian food .
A. P.
Very important note before reviewing food.
There are so many nails on the wooden cladding on the wall, at head level when you sit on a chair. See the attached photo, zoom in and see the nails. Please be careful.
Vegetarian snacks are yum. I would not recommend any meat items at all. Chilli chicken and chicken fried rice were a big disappointment. Very bland and lacks any taste.
Tikka take has always been popular for indian vegetarian snacks.
J. C.
Tasty and modern Indian food. Great selection. Great staff. Tends to get too crowded which can make getting a seat and getting your order a bit chaotic.
K.
Very tasty food lovely service and quick to put food on the table.
M. M.
Delicious food and great service at a reasonable price. I will definitely return.
C. R.
Delicious would visit again!

It always takes a little while to get seated, but it is worth it! I absolutely adore the butter chicken fries, beautiful!

This is a MUST VISIT place every time am in Canberra! Restaurant has definitely managed to keep up the taste despite of offering so many indian delicacies on their menu. …
A. S.
Absolutely delicious 😋 food 🍱 satisfying all taste buds.
Very friendly and quick service. One of the best place for Indian food in Canberra💯💯
a. b.
Absolutely delicious food! Everythting we tried was freshly made and lip smacking. And Rukshar is the best - she made our experience even more wonderful with her smile and super friendly attitude. We are from Sydney and wouldn't mind driving back to Canberra for Tikka Take.

I moved to Canberra From Sydney this week. Today I tried Vada Pav & Dosa. Food & Service is really Superior. Special Thanks to Mr. Jodha for his very professional service and Hospitality. Will visit again soon.

The best Indian restaurant in Canberra .... I came all the way from Melbourne and I was randomly roaming out for the best ones .... and I got it .... they have a wide variety of menu which no one Indian restaurant has ..... must try place guys ....💯💯💯
Ps: would be great if you guys can open one in Melbourne soon !!!

Nice, affordable and well cooked sub continental food place.
P. R.
Awesome food, value for money, lovely staff!💕
S. S.
I went there after booking a table and I was 30 min late. I know it’s a busy restaurant, but their website says that you can come within 60 min. I was greeted with the words from one of the guys working there that, “you are 30 min late”. No one wants to hear that. Then one girl got my order wrong and she was like now you drank it and left. I was there for the first time how am I suppose to know if the drink is wrong. Then let’s come to food and service. No one greets you, they just throw the food on the table and leave. Dinning-in is a full fledge service, if they can’t do that because of the volume of customers then they should close it down.
D. M.
Had dinner yesterday and the food was great. Noticed the staff was hardworking. I suggest going to their website and book a table to avoid waiting. Naan was good chicken was tender. Will surely try again.
J. W.
Food is wonderful!! But the service was appalling we had one good waiter that would follow up on questions asked but all others would acknowledge you and then just walk off. When we arrived we weren't even provided menus. I really hope the service improves as the food is really good!
p. d.
Very delicious food, drinks and good customer service. I will definitely come back here and recommend others to visit here.
M. N.
Made the mistake of ordering typical curry and rice dishes like in an Indian restaurant, wasn't blown away. I was convinced to come back and try all the side dishes and street food dishes, I am now a Tikka Take preacher! Note, the typical curry and rice dishes are still really good.
C.
It always takes a little while to get seated, but it is worth it! I absolutely adore the butter chicken fries, beautiful!

Absolutely great food and very reasonable meal sizes. Good value for money. This Indian restaurant serves westernised Indian quisine without the overburdening spices that overwhelm the taste buds of many.
D. N.
New favourite indian restaurant- no, new favourite restaurant full stop.
We came in without a booking and were seated almost immediately by the very friendly waitress. They have an utterly fantastic selection of food with a great range of vegetarian friendly dishes. The food arrived incredibly quickly, was stunning in presentation, and ample in portion size.
10/10 will order too much food and enjoy every mouthful again.
A. S.
Good food and ambience.
Ordered multiple cuisines and drinks and all were really good!
Will recommend anyone who wants to eat Indian food in Canberra.
m. w.
had dinner here, booked and was asked to order in advance, food was good not huge servings service was ordinary and the drinks pricing is a little insane as we paid 9.90 for a lemon lime bitters. it was more expensive than the beer. also had really loud dance music on the whole time which was weird haha
M. H.
Modern take on Indian food. The Thali option is excellent. A combination of Indian sides and 2 curries for $30. Well worth it. Great venue. Mango Beer is a good choice as well!
s. k.
We had a great time eating, super delicious food, very good and quick service. Friendly with the kids. Rukhsar who works there made it a pleasant experience.
B. A.
The food is absolutely delicious and they have a wide variety of dishes. Flavours were magnificent. A definite place to put on your list if you love Indian food as much as us (& and if you’ve never had Indian it’s the best place to start). Service friendly and efficient.
A. L.
Really great Indian food at a great price and centrally located. Only reason I am giving 4 stars is they forgot our meals twice - but remedied by awesome food once it came and giving us a discount at payment!
c. b.
Amazing experience at Tikka Take. We went there (on 9 oct) because some Canberra locals recommend us and it was worth every dollar. The ambience, food and Service were excellent. We were 26( 14 kids) of us and tasted about 20+ different items and i could not fault any of the dishes. Special highlight was melt in mouth Spicy Paneer & cheese Parathas.
Special thanks to Rukhsar who looked after us and even threw a special dish for our birthday girl. A surprise was to see about 10+ staff working during lunch time on a Friday, which says a lot about their professionalism. We are from Sydney and there are not many Indian restaurants which can close to Tikka Take. 5 stars from all of us.
J. T.
So professional, so tasty! Pitch perfect!! All in all they are socially responsible.. big cheers to management!
s. ..
Had lunch. Staff etiquette were nice. Had Masala Dosa (Nice), Mugalai briyani (A shadow of the real stuff, Pretty bad on that day ?)
Lassi (Good), CHAT masala (good)
Chilli Chicken (Made with chicken meat balls), Haven't ordered it if I have the prior knowledge.
K. S.
Just walking past and the smells coming out of this place were amazing so had to stop in. Was not dissapointed!! Service was great and food was amazing. Kids loved every mouthful. Def coming back here!! Definitely worth checking out. Delicious Indian food well presented - very different from the traditional Indian restaurant. Excellent service & staff - very helpful. We’ll set out menu - easy to order. Please open a Tikka Take in Sydney!
K. K.
Rita was a fabulous server and can definitely help the patrons feel comfortable. Highly recommend the food and the service. The name falls under the light too. Thank You
N. C.
Quite tasty food - the service was great and the curry I had was flavoursome and well presented. However, the music was intense techno (which I wouldn't usually have an issue with) and incredibly loud, which made it really hard to talk to my friend (which was why we went for dinner).
P. D.
Reasonable price, absolutely yummy, variety of food menu and friendly staffs, No doubt why they been busy! 10/10
S. S.
Their food was amazing. Ordered the following dishes; chicken 65, butter chicken, paneer Dhosa. Their Dhosa and chicken 65 was delicious.
Their servings were in good quantity and reasonable prices for their meals. Their cocktails was a bit bland, Long Island iced tea.
However their lychee cocktail was nice.

Amazing food and great service from Sidharth.

Food was fantastic - it arrived fast and was tasty and fresh. Love the open kitchen vibe.
Rukhsar was amazing- very attentive. She gave great suggestions and accomodating changes to meals. Our walk-in group of 8 accommodated quickly.

Delicious food and great service at a reasonable price. I will definitely return.

Pretty good for the street food, though the curries could do better.
Ambience = 4

Good Indian food, large menu with plenty of choices including some more obscure selections. Can be very busy and a bit noisy but so are alot of other venues.

While this restaurant looks chaotic from outside, the food and service were excellent on Saturday night when we ate there. We opted to sit outside (warm jackets a must) under the heaters. The range of food on the thali was delicious and plentiful. Once we were ready to order, we rang a doorbell situated on the table and the waiter responded within minutes. The he drinks and food followed with minimal delay.

Wonderfully spicy and flavourful indian right in the heart of the city.

I ordered dinner for the first time from Tikka Take on a recommendation from an excellent Über driver.
Once the order arrived I discovered it was the wrong meal so I called, explained the situation and without hesitation or delay the correct order was sent and duly delivered.
The food was excellent and the mistake (we've all made mistakes) won't stop me from ordering again.

This place is wonderful. Best indian food in whole Canberra with affordable price. I would like to recommend to all new people to visit atleast once.

The food is absolutely delicious and they have wide variety of dishes.
The quality of food is good and is consistent. If you like Indian street food Tikka Take is the place to go.
Tip- Malabari fish curry is as close to authentic curry you get in India

Absolutely delicious 😋 food 🍱 satisfying all taste buds.
Very friendly and quick service. One of the best place for Indian food in Canberra💯💯

It's a fantastic venue to enjoy a good meal with your family, all the staff had been always helpful and friendly, I really appreciate Ruksar who always have been very considerate and treated us very well whenever we visit this venue which motivates us to keep coming back and enjoy the delicious food.

Not your usual greasy Indian joint. Been here twice in the last month, once during the day and another time during the evening. The large presence of Indian heritage customers on both occasions is a testimony to the good quality of the food. Staff was very friendly both times and the price is very reasonable.
As mentioned on another review, the Byriani service was not optimal as it took over 20 minutes to arrive even though the restaurant was fairly quiet. Mind you however I was not disappointed - the flavour was incredible.

Fantastic food, service and atmosphere with a diverse menu to choose from. The food is consistently good, I would recommend without hesitation.

Best Indian ever. Food is amazing. Staff and service excellent. Love the ordering system. Will return!

Omg this place is amazing! I was walking by and stopped because of the smell. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and how it works. The food, out of this place. It is magnificent. My favourite place to dine-in in Canberra. They also have Indian cocktails which are really good as well.

Excellent service by Shyjo. He is just too good with his service. The quality and variety of this restaurant is incredible. Strongly recommended to everyone. Its my favourite restaurant in Aus.

Good Indian food of different Indian & Indo -Chinese cuisines.. may be this why the non Indians may be confused as taste of some meals could be different than what they used to get in other Indian restaurants.
Kids menu is for small meals but not for fussy kids at all!
I liked the drinks a lot.
Staff are so welcoming and friendly, prices are reasonable as well.

We came in the early evening on a Sunday, so it wasn't very busy. The wait staff all seem young and inexperienced (EG: lean across the table to put down a dish instead of walking around) but they were friendly and attentive. We ordered about 6 dishes for the three of us, plus drinks and it came to $95. It was waaaaay too much food! And it was all totally delicious. I deliberately challenged myself to order some dishes which I hadn't tried the like of and everyone loved them. I'd eat here again any time.

Tikka take was open even on Christmas Day. They offered a wide range and variety.
Food quality was good, but I will not call it as excellent.
Restaurant was crowded, however, I was not happy the way they took orders and the food was served. I was surprised to receive ice cream even before we received main course.
Toilet was not clean and water leaking. But customers are also equally responsible.
My experience this year: Tikka Take - Feb 29, 2021
I visited Tikka Take about one year back. I was in Canberra recently and visited this restaurant again. There are some pluses and minuses this time.
I am not at all impressed with the quality.
Idlis were rubbery and the sambhar was like eating veg Korma. surprisingly the coconut chutney was sweet was far away from the authentic south Indian taste.
Khaman was stale as it was quite cold in the middle. Veg Paratha was oily.
The toilet was quite clean, but could not lock it from inside.
Overall service was a bit chaotic as the waiting time was a big look long.
Tikka Take should focus on offering the real authentic taste and not like a jack of all trade and master of none kind.

Best place in Canberra for Indian and Indian fusion food. Very busy. So, advance booking is recommended.

So many delicious vegan goodies here. The vibe is nice and the staff are fantastic. Everything I have tried here has been full of flavour and nourishing.

Excellent food, good staff and a positive environment need I tell more?
The manager over there was very humble and good. We had a great meal and were taken care of. Would certainly recommend tikka take to friends and family.

Great everything to be honest, from food to service it was wonderful

A 'must try' restaurant in Canberra. The menu has your regular Indian treats plus unusual ones. The array of cocktails and desserts alone would have you revisit this place. Customer service is par excellence.
Make sure you book your visit as the place can be crowded.
My only disappointment was that two items we ordered were turned down due to unavailability of ingredients.

Best Indian Food I’ve ever had in Australia. I was going to Canberra for a day and one of my friends recommended this place. They’ve got so many food and drinks to choose from in their menu. And the food was awesome, best of the best 👍👍 The staff were really friendly and the service was really good and fast! Definitely going there the next time I visit Canberra.

Enjoy favourable food at tikka take every single time
Amazing service love to meet Rukhsar too

Despite being constantly busy this restaurant manages it really well. Acoustics are good - I can hear my friends talking. Recommend booking in advance. Their online reservation tool is simple and quick to use. Otherwise prepare to queue up. All the food is very good and a huge selection of alcoholic or non alcoholic drinks.

We first came here last year and kept dining here for the few days we were here.
Coming back this year we found the dishes as delicious as we remembered. The various chats are our favourite. I have not found the idali as good anywhere in Sydney.
The staff are still as friendly as ever - even when they are run off their feet.
And the price is quite reasonable which is important.

Everything is great about this restaurant! The service is efficient and friendly, the food is delicious and authentic. This restaurant is absolutely the best! I wish one day they will open a branch in Sydney. Seriously, the best Indian restaurant! We ended up going there two nights in a row. I will visit this restaurant every time I am in Canberra!

Great experience great food
Butter chicken and goan prawn were best among dishes ordered
Although service was bit slow which can be improved but overall all fantastic experience

A good restaurant to visit in Canberra. It is not that the food items are very tasty and all that. But they are trying to give you something to relish.

Sidharth done the great customer service and we appreciate his efforts

Authentic Indian food served by friendly staff. Experience greatly enhanced by the friendly, smiling service of Rukhsar - a lovely lady who makes sure everything is ok without being intrusive. Will continue to eat here regularly.

Went to Tikka Take for the first time on the weekend and loved it. So much food to choose from at a great price. We got a Thali (Chole chicken, Malabar fish and daal tadka), the daal tadka with raita was my favourite combination! We also got butter chicken fries (just like a butter chicken curry but the rice is substituted for fries), cheese dosa (huge!) and tandoori lamb skewers. The latter was probably my least favourite - lamb was tender but not much flavour. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back again to try all of the different foods!

Very tasty clean delicious. More variations than i can ecen imagine. Rarely to find a nice restaurant like this. Friendly staff, nice decoration. Definitely 5 stars

Legitimately some of the best indian I've ever had, and it's not even expensive. The vindaloo is also just insane compared to local fare, it's JUST spicy enough to be satisfying without overpowering with heat. The unique fries they have are also delicious, and the butter chicken ones make for a great cheap takeaway option. Please go here if in Civic. It's worth every penny.

Excellent service & authentic Indian cuisine.
Team members like Rukhsar make it special by their smile & 5 star service.
Would recommend Tikka Take to all my friends!

Good food and a great ambiance. Not your typical Indian food though it's more geared towards a wider customer base (in a positive way). As a result you get a more diverse clientele.
The only issue we came across so far was they refused to cancel an item (masala Chai tea) from our order over the weekend, which we found to be a bit weird given we just placed the order. Happy to take comments from anyone if it was our mistake. We were told that we had to tell them when we wanted it served. Apart from that no complaints.

Excellent food..if looking for Indian the best place in Canberra is here...there's just another one which is comparable to this but is in Brisbane...but when in Canberra this is the best

We loved this place. It was very busy on a Tuesday night but the food came out quickly. Staff were very friendly and understanding towards our children and there were some colouring bits toand pieces to keep them occupied. Food tasted amazing! Would definitely go back!

I’ve been eating Indian curries for over 30 years, this place was a chance discovery that I stumbled onto whilst walking past. One of the best Butter Chickens I’ve ever had, the plain nann was just as good. Very fresh and delicate. Just beautiful
