Delicious mouthwatering food, great customer service and wonderful atmosphere, that's what Wilma BBQ is all about. The food is addictive and if I had a bigger stomach, would've ordered the entire food and drinks menu. 100% we will be back again! Highly recommended 👌

Lovely find in Canberra, very stylish restaurant with dimmed lighting and booths. Interesting cocktail options, the Southside had quite a chilli bite. We chose the smaller banquet menu, food was delicious but there was too much and unfortunately we did not do it justice. Asian fusion, and lots of fresh interesting dishes. They did forget a wine order, which was a little disappointing as they were not that busy but did make that up with a complimentary glass - which was well noted. Unfortunately the booth next to us had obviously been there for a while and the language and the close proximity of the booth meant that their conversation impacted on the ambience of our night. Would I try again - Yes.

Come for the kingfish, stay for the prawn toast? (Not even joking). From the same people bringing you Akiba, Wilma is an absolute must! Perfect for drinks at The Pearl, dinner for two, groups or business! "Retro Aussie-Chinese" is the best way I've seen it described. The front of house staff with Chloe and the team to the kitchen with executive chef Brendan Hill, let them take you on a journey of what a good restaurant experience is meant to be! Have a look through the photos for what's on offer but the highlights have to be: Tiger prawn toast... milk bun, prawn cream with a side of Davidson plum sweet and sour sauce (forget what you think you know about plum sauce). Balmain bug, egg noodles, chilli, coriander and sesame (Lose your mind on the sauce and how well Tommy cooks up those bugs!) Truffle and egg fried rice also has to be called out... wow. Pro tip for those who’ve read through - book early and reserve a seat at the bar where if you are lucky, Hannah will be prepping things like the duck and eggplant... very cool to watch her work and also have a good chat at the same time!

Lovely atmosphere with nice mood lighting. Loved the booths all around the windows of the restaurant. My friends all enjoyed their seafood and meat dishes in particular the Balmain bug, egg noodle, chilli, coriander and sesame dish and the hot smoked char sui pork. The roast duck pancakes with shallots and hoi sin sauce were also very much enjoyed by my friends. The restaurant offers a separate vegan menu which is great. The ma po tofu with sizzling sichuan shiitake mushrooms dish was a little different, and whilst the tofu was lovely and silken, the sauce wasn't really to my liking. Our waitress told us that unfortunately the bottle of Nick O'Leary wine we wanted was not available however five minutes later she returned as she had found us a bottle by searching upstairs; very kind; deserved our tip!

This was so worth a trip to the city - delicious!!! The old Kokomo’s now has a moody, sophisticated, luxurious new food-focused vision and fit out and wow, wow, wow is all I can say. The truffled fried rice 🤩 the smoked char sui chilli pork 🤩 the banana blossom chicken salad 🤩 oh wait I forgot the custard puff!! Just everything was delectable... Can’t wait to go back 👏 (oh wait… the mini sausage on white bread. I about died!!! Too cute for words! I called it the Aussie taco 🤣). Fantastic food packed with flavour and creativity and the vibe of the venue is excellent. Definitely recommend (oh and the cocktails... I forget the name but it was pink and fruity and fresh... loved!)

Lovely food and service, though I found it was far too loud. This was mostly due to the music, and the fact you needed to yell to be heard over it. We ordered the oysters, kingfish sashimi, san choy bao, duck pancakes, pork char sui, and peach rice pudding (which was surprisingly big). My boyfriend got tue custard puff for dessert. I loved everything except for the char sui, which was chewy. The oysters and kingfish were my favourite, but unfortunately I forgot to take photos of them. The service was generally quite fast, though dessert took a while.

My partner and I dined at Wilma during the week, our lovely waitress Mal blew our expectations around customer service. Super friendly and helpful explaining different aspects of the menu along with giving us recommendations on dishes she believe we would enjoy. The quality and taste of the food followed the high level of customer service giving us a truely great evening! We cannot wait to come back to Wilma with friends and family. Certainly hoping Mal will be there to serve us again!

I loved this place. The interior still has the same green tropical theme as Kokomos, but now grown-up with sort of art deco styling. The food is also still Asian/tropical but again, they've stepped up their game. I had some oysters, a scallop ceviche with shiso leaves ( there was a similar dish on the Kokomos menu). I also had the Balmain bug with crispy noodles which was full of big, bold flavours at a surprisingly affordable price. Highly recommend.

Last night, we dined at Wilma for my partner’s birthday. We had the absolute pleasure of being looked after by Mal. Her exceptional service was first noted by her display of extensive knowledge of the menu. She took the time to explain each menu item and suggested pairings of menu items that complimented each other. Her warm, bubbly, enthusiastic explanations of the menu meant that we trusted her blindly and followed recommendations the entire night from cocktails, to food and quantity to order, to dessert and wine. Each item she recommended was spot on and food was absolutely delicious and incredibly satisfying. Mal even added a personalised touch by sending up extra treats with a candle to mark my partner’s birthday celebration making the experience at Wilma that much more memorable. Mal’s service and the food were 10 out of 5. 100% would drive several hours to dine there again.

Can't recommend highly enough. Loved it. Actually the best meal experience out I think we've ever had. We had the Baller Banquet & it was exquisite (apart from the tofu, but I'm just not a tofu fan :). Service was outstanding, from finding us a last minute booth to our beautiful waitress Sophie, who was the perfect blend of attentiveness and discretion. Perfect way to celebrate our 29th anniversary. Thanks guys we will definitely be back!

Wend to dinner at Wilma last night and was blown away by the the food and the atmosphere. Firstly love the decor and the vibe of the restaurant. Staff were amazing and we were in a cute booth that was super comfortable. The food was so good and the drinks were also delicious. highly recommend the truffle fried rice, hot style numbing chicken + sesame + garlic chives and hot smoked char sui pork. Would def come here again.

Perfection!!! Wilma absolutely nailed everything about the restaurant/ dining experience. The staff were lovely and took good care of us. We had our water topped up regularly and they were very attentive and came immediately when we were ready to order. Even on a busy Friday night the food came out very quickly. The food was STUNNING. Super interesting menu, cooked to perfection. Our squid, fish wings and lamb ribs all melted in the mouth delightfully. Flavors were on point too. Ambience in the restaurant was also beautiful. Loved literally everything about this place.

The best thing we visited in Canberra. They’ve got the best fried rice!! I liked the peking duck as well which I wasn’t able to finish (I had the leftovers as a take away but forgot to bring it home with me. I was heartbroken.) Their tasting/3-course menu (I forgot what it’s actually called) was so worth it for its price. I recommend that to try out multiple dishes. I gave four stars because they double charged one order of take away fried rice and they haven’t refunded us yet after 4 days. Make sure to always double check the receipt! :)

Incredible night, beautiful food, but the shining feature was the service! The girls run this floor like they own the place, Sophie was a standout, she made sure all our dietaries were looked after, I'm a picky eater and usually it's difficult for me to receive a meal/drinks with all the right alterations, what a phenomenal experience, I'm recommending this place to every single one of my friends and family, it's my new favourite restaurant in canberra, bringing something incredible and refreshing to this city.

Visited this place for my sister’s birthday. The host couldn’t be more accommodating. He was very attentive and made sure all our needs were met. Could not speak more highly about this place. I went to Wilma last Wednesday and the staff were all so lovely!! We decided to pop in as a spur of the moment decision and it was one of the best ones we’ve ever made!! The food was amazing, especially the scallop crudo and the fried rice (the scallops were a recommendation from our waitress sophie who was so amazing the whole night). Went to Wilma on Saturday night with a few friends. The food and cocktails were all amazing, and a shout out to their party shot (we had to have more then one). Our server, Steph, even offered to book a table for us downstairs so we could continue our night after our dinner reservation had ended. Steph was great, along with all other staff. So it’s been a while since I’ve been blown away by a dinner in Canberra because of the good service, atmosphere and quality food. Besides the ole favourites recently I’ve been looking for that next spot that just has a great atmosphere, great decor, high quality food (where you know the chefs want to be there and they actually love the food and the patrons) and with staff who really make your night but striking the balance as well of being good food without feeling like we were going to the opera house. We were hoping to hit one of our usual golden oldies at Akiba on a Thursday night which was unfortunately/fortunately full up. In walks “Wilma.” From the moment we walked we knew this was a going to be fun. @Jess welcomed us and got us seated. Running us through the menu and offered recommendations. We were given the sashimi seats in front of the chefs as there were other bookings. In some places this is boring, painful or just lacks any real benefit of the lack of privacy or lack of personality. Not Wilma. We ended up sitting right in front of @Chef Hannah. Between Jess and Hannah we were spoilt. Treated like kings and queens but also with laughs and recommendations such as the truffle fried rice (which tbh I agreed with Hannah, is the best fried rice I’ve ever had). And then finally we meet @Chef Tommy. Between Hannah, Tommy and Jess and some amazing food and cocktails we left with a big grin on our face! We’ll be back thanks Wilma, and thanks Hannah, Jess and Tommy you made our night!

I had the absolute pleasure of not only dining but hosting a wine dinner with my Hunter Valley winery Savannah Estate at WILMA CANBERRA. We do many many dinners a year all over NSW and at some of Sydney's best restaurants. I must say the service was absolutely exceptional, Jamie was an absolute delight to work with and super organised and Chloe could not have been more brilliant on the evening keeping everything running smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was spot on, delicious and I haven't been able to stop thinking about the Snag Sangas!! I Can't wait to work with this team again in the future. The only thing that could possibly take it from 10/10 to 11/10 is having Savannah Estate on the wine list ;) thanks so much team! all our love Savannah & Kurt

Poor service, and subpar food. The quality didn’t match the price. We had to remind our waitress numerous times for our drinks that we ordered. We asked for all our food to come out together, but it came out about 30 minutes apart. Partner is allergic to mushrooms and they stated they couldn’t swap it out for anything else on a $58 plate of steak. We were tucked in a weird room that had the spare tables and chairs stacked on one side. Really wanted to like this place but wouldn’t come back.

The owners at Wilma are already well-known for putting the effort to create beautiful spaces & experiences across Canberra.. so when they announced that they were re-launching the former Kokomos space as an upmarket asian-style eatery.. it was already exciting! The space is outstanding.. i love how they kept the things that worked from Kokomos (like the open kitchen, the bar design & the booths) but they revamped the whole place to give it a more moody ambience. The food and drinks are still spot-on as ever.. more of a "restaurant with great drinks" over the "bar with great food" which Kokomos was. The service has also been notched-up to 11. The various staff from bar to kitchen to front were all in some way involved in making our experience memorable in a fantastic way and it really shows that they are invested in the place. In particular Evelyn who looked after our table was simply outstanding. In a packed restaurant, we almost felt like it was a private dining experience and nothing we asked for was too much trouble.

Outstanding. The newly refurbished interior is classy, dimly lit to enhance the mood and the music adds to the up beat ambience. We ordered a banquet menu to take advantage of the best selection Wilma has to offer. Not usually a seafood lover, I enjoyed the raw tuna so much it will be the first dish I order when I inevitably return. The selection of dishes offered were abundant in both flavour and portion size - Very generous for the price point. The wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable when questioned. As always, being able to watch an open kitchen in action adds to the experience. Very well done. Looking forward to returning.

Where to start? Having just moved to Canberra from Syndey, I needed to find somewhere nice to take my folks for dinner. Wilma delivered in spades. The food was excellent, especially the suggested fried rice. A massive thank you to Rod, who was able to secure us a table in the corner as my father is hard of hearing. Our server Mel was amazing! She was attentive and offered excellent suggestions. I cannot remember ever being more impressed with service. We will definitely be coming back with friends and family. The vibe of Wilma is excellent and suitable for a variety of occasions.
