Comments of Yum Cha CBD
Y. L. W.
My favourite Cantonese restaurant so far. The food quality is consistently high. First time trying lobster sashimi yesterday and it is surprisingly good. I also love the oyster and shredded chicken very much.

Delicious yum cha in the heart of Canberra CBD. The dumplings area good which makes it worthwhile. The other dishes are great as well. Definitely would recommend! Yours truly @fooderarri
T. D.
Quick and delicious. The staff here are nice, friendly and really professional. My prawn dim sim, salt and pepper squid are on point, egg tarts are crispy and soft. My favorite one is the chicken feet, probably the best chicken feet we’ve ever had in Aus even compared to Melbourne or Sydney
L.
Nice staffs and great canton food. Hopefully there will be even more choices on the menu

What a meal! Kids had chicken noodle soup and BBQ pork ribs in plum sauce. Big smiles and full tums. Hubby had duck in plum Sauce and I had satay beef. Hot and tasty, large portions. No wait for a table, 15 mins for our food to be served.
Highly recommend!

Came here for lunar new year dinner and was surprised by the quality, considering it’s a yumcha place. We had a variety of different seafood, meats and veggies. The highlight would have been the mud crab and lobster, they were all cooked well and flavours were just right! Improvements can be made on the fried white bait which wasn’t very crispy or crunchy. Overall a good option for yumcha and classic Cantonese style dishes.

My favourite yum cha place in Canberra. It gets super busy for yum cha (a bit chaotic) so make sure you book. Favourite dishes are ha gao, prawn and spinach dumplings, lobster dumplings, and for dessert we always get egg tarts.
A. S.
Super friendly staff. Very tasty food. Only downside was the serving sizes and the prices
R. B.
Good Yum Cha. It would be better if they had a few less tables as it can be very busy and noisy.
S.
Good friendly service with top notch dumplings, buns, seafood and tarts. Soft shell crab, salted squid and tofu are delectable. Dumplings are fantastic, light and flavoursome. The egg tarts have a creamy eggy custard encased in a wonderful flaky pastry that melt in your mouth. The staff are eager to please and are very helpful and efficient. A wonderful place for Yum Cha!

Had brunch here with the family and we enjoyed ourselves. Food was mostly good and service was even better. Transparent with the dish prices, prices are in English on the paper that they mark off with every dish ordered, so that's always a plus.
W. B.
The food tastes very good. Both the pipi on vermicelli and fried crab are delicious. The service is very good and the staff are friendly. Excellent experience overall!
S. D.
New yummy yumcha. I even found rice congee and other rare dishes at this HongKong style yumcha place. We have been here a few times already as the food servings are big and delicious.
My family loves it. Must go place if you are a yum cha fan.
C. D.
Yum cha tastes so good even for lunch. All foods were delicious and staff were friendly. The chicken legs was good. Lose a star as they forgot one dish. Will go back.
A. L.
Definitely can tell is home made dim sum. Deliciously good place for yum cha, beats some of the places in Sydney.
K. H.
This place rocks! I love chickens feet and theirs are delicious. If you don't like chickens feet, don't let that stop you from visiting.
The yum cha is delicious. They have a wide selection to choose from, including rice paper rolls, steamed and baked buns, spring rolls and lots more.
It must be popular because there are delivery drivers and those taking away lunch coming in a steady stream.
You won't regret tasting the delights of Yum Cha CBD.
L. Z.
Food tasted good, but quite expensive for what you get. Service very slow.. but that could be because it was Christmas Day. Nothing special but not terrible.
M. K.
Fresh, fast, friendly and most importantly, delicious! Fantastic yum cha!
J. C.
Very nice san tong chicken, salt pepper eggplant as well as singapore chilli crab.
K. T.
Yumcha CBD do lunchbox takeaway deal for $10.8.
Otherwise a la carte veggo options in photo attached.

Make sure you book to eat here as they are super busy. Easy parking across the road opposite the court house.
Food is delicious and authentic. Staff are lovely and happy to accommodate for special orders, which are listed on the paper menu given to you. We love all the food here.
We do not have YUM CHA in rural Victoria but used to live in Canberra and only left ACT 7 years ago.
Well worth the visit and extremely well priced, not only that lots of Chinese frequent the place, therefore it is good.
Will definitely eat here again, next time we are in Canberra.
So, so miss these eateries which we don’t have in Bairnsdale, as we are 3-4 hours from Melbourne!

Yum cha recommended
L. V.
Good range tasty. Mango pudding was fantastic.
T. W.
A reasonable yum cha, table service was a bit slow and there seemed to be an insistence about ordering from the menu which I found unusual.
They were lacking a few of the beverages on the drinks menu but the lobster dumplings made up for it - I'd go again.
S. H. (.
Nothing special, again some people who had dietary requirements had to order separately and their food was delivered when others had finished their food!
C. L.
Best yum cha in Canberra. (For Canberra standards)
T. D.
The food is authentic, service super fast and price is reasonable. Used to live in HongKong so we know our yum cha.. Not bad at all. highly recommended
W. v. P.
Had a great yum cha here with my family, 11 of us around a large table with lazy Susan. Yummy dishes kept on coming. Was delicious and fresh. Everything was hot and tasty. Despite the full restaurant service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere/ambience/noiselevel was all great.
R. N.
The place is clean and spacious. The service is prompt and friendly. And most of all, the foods are fresh, generous serving, and really delicious. We ordered special fried rice, lobster dumplings, imperial pork ribs, and beef with vegies in oyster sauce. Every menu on the table tastes amazing. It is also reasonably priced. Even the beer is cheap. As food is my weakness, this has become my best experience of my trip to Canberra.
C. P.
Food is good for western people who are just getting into asian. The dishes lack strong flavours for those who are use to that.
S.
Went there with my friend. We love the Portuguese egg tarts and beef tendon! Really tasty and authentic Cantonese food. Definitely would come back again.
A. N.
It’s on pricey-er end for Chinese food, and while the food is authentic and tasty, particularly the chefs special dishes, the portions are small.
Staff is generally attentive but service quality deteriorates quickly when the place gets busy.
This is actually a 3.5 stars for me but rounds up to 4.
A. I.
Very good for a dim sum lunch. The premises are organised and well presented. The chicken's feet, diced pork spare ribs, and tofu vegetable rolls are the best. They accept credit cards. I would go back.
T. G.
We’ve been there a few weekends now & they’re always packed that we had to sit on the outside area.
Most of their dishes are tasty & fresh, doesn’t taste like frozen food.
We always get their Pu Erh tea with our meals, they’re the best!
Their baked food can be a little burned on the bottom (like the egg tart) but my husband likes the taste.
Service can be a little slow especially when busy, they probably could do with more floor staff on the weekends.
Oh don’t forget to ask for the la jiao chilli oil if you like a bit of spicy with your yum cha, it really lifts up the dishes even more!
D. S.
We really enjoyed the yum cha today at Yum Cha CBD. It brought back memories of many happy hours spent in Yum Cha restaurants in Hong Kong. The noise, the crowd, the ladies pushing around trolleys of steaming delights. I will be returning there again next time I am in Canberra. Recommended
E.
Take it from me, being Chinese - this place does the best yum cha in Canberra and is on par with some of the best places in Sydney. My picks are the har gao, chicken feet, fried radish cake, the bean curd rolls, any of the cheong fun and the freshly baked egg tarts.
A. S.
Super amazing food. Everything was yummy. We landed at 915 pm and the guys welcomed us unlike others. Adrian and Angel are really good. Very welcoming and customer-friendly.
J.
Delicious, satisfying food delivered quickly at reasonable prices.
F. C.
actually on the "lighter" end of savory taste. closer to authentic yum cha than Scholar but both r pretty good for CBR standard. maybe not quite melbourne but beggers cant be choosers :D cheapest proper yum cha in australia is in brisbane but need to know where to go n know the chef
T. N.
Cantonese/Hakka/Fujian-style dishes that stick true to the standards of HK/Taiwan/Malaysia & are reasonably-priced. The sole, for me a measure of comparison for Cantonese restaurants, is as fresh & scrumptious as the best in Melb or London. Delighted to see this place open after years of limited options in the cbd.
P. G.
Good value yum cha. Dumplings were perfect. Staff were very attentive and professional
H. L.
It was a good dining experience although they can improve some if their offered food
M. S.
Great service. Dishes were all fresh, and cooked perfectly. Design of the restaurant not the best for trollies, but somehow the food still makes it to you.
Y. Y.
The food is really tasteful. Service is good. Price is relatively cheap compared with other restaurants around city. Have visited this place twice since I came to ANU. Hope to have the yummy yumcha every weekend :)
H. G.
friendly, Food portion resonable.
R. Y.
As a Chinese person and a life-long yum cha fan, I've complained for years about the lack of any good yum cha options in Canberra. I'm happy to say that we finally have a good yum cha place in town - this is it.
P. G.
Good quality food, wide variety of to choose from on trolleys and to order. Quick and friendly service, will be back.
S. T.
OMG! Come ready to eat! Soooooooo good!

J. H.
Great yum cha and Cantonese cuisine. Tried both the dim sum dishes and crab in vermicelli. Very very good!
K. N.
New yum cha place in the Melbourne Building with a good selection of dishes. Recommend going early to beat the rush.

Visited it on a busy Sunday for lunch. Food was alright. Good service.

(Translated) As a native of Guangdong, drinking tea in Canberra is the best food ever, and the snacks are fresh, but too! too! too! salty! Now! (Salty is catching up with the northern cuisine) Especially the shrimp dumplings, but the shrimp dumplings are good, unlike other stores, the taste is very poor. The river simmered in the fried beef river is very good, but there are some that are stick together and there is no separation. This is a bit random when it is fried. Recommended chicken feet and louvers. The price is cheap, the service is also very good, it is estimated that because of going early, things are very fast. It is worth going again.
The price is cheap, and the service is good. Maybe we were early, foods came out quickly And frequently. It's worthy.

As a Cantonese, it's the best yum cha I've eaten in Canberra. Dim sum were all fresh, but too salty, especially shrimp dumplings. The price is cheap, and the service is good. Maybe we were early, foods came out quickly and frequently. It's worthy.
