This is a great setting in the evening slight breeze in the shade. The staff are beautifully friendly and helpful. Makes you feel at home and they're not shy to help with drinks. Asked if I was eating alone and said to downsize my chips. Thanks. Now what you've been waiting for; The food; tasty, beautifully cooked and presented . The drink The ale was local and rather light but tasty for a beer. Quite pleasant I'll give it 6 stars absolutely

Absolutely nothing but quality and DELICIOUS seafood. Incredibly tasty oysters, calamari, and fish. Besides the seafood, I was blown away by the Thai fish cakes! Extremely friendly customer service and attention to detail by who I think is the owner. Can't wait to come again next time we're in Darwin!

Best Tempura Mackerel I've ever had! So meaty, juicy, cooked perfectly. The crocodile and lemon myrtle spring roll is very nice, as well as lightly dusted calamari. Everything is so, so good!!

This place is amazing! They have a great gluten free menu including gf batter fish, spring rolls, oysters and more and dedicated gluten free fryers. This is heaven for a coeliac! Great range of fish, everything was so fresh and delicious. Plus the owner is so friendly and helpful. Can't wait to come back!

Great fish and chips. The barramundi beer batteree fish was super crunchy and juicy. However, the other type of fillet has lots of small bones through the middle (forgot what fish it was). Shoe string chips were definitely the best chips.

This is a nice, informal and relaxing place to have a meal. The establishment has a covered outside dining area comprising picnic style tables and stools. It has a pleasant outlook over a small marina. It has received awards for its service and food which are of a generally high standard. It is a "go to" place whenever I am in Darwin. Our group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers had a very enjoyable meal with drinks for under $100.

Supposedly the best fish and chips in Australia, I can't judge that, but they were quite good, maybe 4.5 really. The setting is great, wine by the glass and beer on tap, really passionate, friendly staff, coconut prawns delicious, barramundi also tasty and light. Thought prices were reasonable for Darwin, but servings, esp. fish, were a bit small. Well worth a visit though.

Frying Nemo came highly recommended, so, we took the drive to check it out. Overlooking a marina and some expensive looking real estate, Nemo's has plenty of outdoor and covered tables. Service was quick, friendly, efficient, and helpful with making our choices. The food was hot and fresh, and we couldn't fault our grilled barramundi, battered barramundi, salt N pepper calamari, and chips. Maybe the chips were a little undercooked, but honestly, only just. And the best thing? An excellent selection of beers! Highly recommended.

The only possible negative was the wait for the food was slightly longer than you would expect from a fish & chip restaurant, however it is completely worth the wait, and this is definitely not a typical fish & chip restaurant. Such a fantastic place!! I'm from Melbourne and went to Darwin for a holiday 2 weeks ago, and we were amazed on how delicious the fish was. A beautiful view of the ocean makes the experience even more better. I had a good chat with this bloke working their who I assume was the owner, the staff are very welcoming and friendly. This was def a food highlight for us in Darwin. Yes Mindil Mkt tucker was good but this was just lovely. Not only was the fish n chips (barramundi in beer batter, tempura and crumbed - we tried then all:) delicious, but the setting was gorgeous and tranquil. We grabbed a table by the water overlooking all the boats bobbing on the water as the sky turned pink and tucked into our dinner happy as larks.

We did a Fish n Chips run from the hotel for a group of 9 and couldnt have been happier with Frying Nemo. We ordered over the phone on the way to the venue and added a couple of items once we arrived. All was cooked perfectly and everyone back at the hotel were impressed with the quality of the food. When we saw the outdoor tables in front of the restaurant we thought that eating at the pier would have been really enjoyable as the sun was setting over the boat's masts.

As a local, I have been to Frying Nemo about 5 or 6 times and usually it’s pretty good. This time, potato cakes were inedible and uncooked. Burger was average. Chips and calamari were cold. Disappointing. The location is amazing and staff are friendly so I’m sad we had a poor experience. We won’t be going back in a hurry.

I really enjoy Frying Nemos, it's a 3 minute walk from my home, so you think I'd go there often, I find it's more like once every 4-5 months. Why? Well let's start with the things that I love about this place: - By the water, with nice lighting all around. Just great ambiance. - Asahi on tap, with the appropriate handled mugs. - Great selection of seafood, usually fresh and well cooked - They're Amex friendly. What stops me from giving it five star though: - Somewhat pricey - Some days the midgie situation is pretty bad - It's probably not common, but one busy night it took 2 hours for our food to be cooked. On top of that, the food was greasy and none of us enjoyed it. It could have just been a bad day, everyone is entitled to one. I still recommend Frying Nemo's to anyone new in Darwin, and I still occasionally visit, if only for a beer.

I ordered over the phone. Was put on hold. I was a little impatient and had the mindset that the service will be your average shortly Darwin experience, so i hung up. Not even a minute later I got a callback! A callback not only in Darwin but they were technically abled enough to figure out how to call someone back when you didnt have their number written down. Great start. Ordered battered barramundi, buffalo burger, straight cut chips with chicken salt and a churro. My partner ordered the fish, i never do because I grew up with great tasting fresh fish and ive never had good fish from anywhere. The fish was good. I would say great but im not massive on battered fish, i prefer them cooked with herbs and stuffed. But it was definitely good, it tasted like REAL fresh fish, if they freeze them, I couldnt pick it. I would even go as far as saying I would order the fish next time for myself and try to warm up to the whole battered thing. Only reason i might not order the fish next time is because the burger was so damn good. Never had buffalo, but it sure as hell was better than any beef burger ive had. Normally i get bored halfway through. They used sourdough for the bun which is a huge plus for me personally. I can see myself trying their other burgers, especially the barramundi burger. Maybe not crocodile, not quite brave enough to try that. Chips were good. They had a very faint fishy taste. I think it's forgivable considering fresh fish can invade other things your cooking at the same time. Can be avoided but it's not really a complaint. The churro was like you would expect from any churro anywhere, but heres the kicker; these guys probably are aware that a churro is a churro no matter where you go, so they at least made a good effort to make it a little better with what I think was nuttella for the dipping chocolate. A great way to finish the meal. FYI it's 1 churro but he's long, breaking it in half was enough to call it 2 normal sized churros. To top everything off, i could tell they were busy for a Monday night, i could tell there was some stress. This did not hinder both the people (guy and a girl) who served me from smiling and making sure my experience on picking up (we ordered for takeaway) was an incredibly friendly and happy. 10/10.

Frying Nemo is my go-to fish and chip joint in Darwin. My wife has Coeliac disease; the fact that the business is set up to cater to this is fantastic for us! The staff are knowledgeable and it's comforting to us - aside from GF options on the menu, a separate fryer is used to avoid cross-contamination issues, and any food containing gluten (stuff I buy just for me) is always carefully kept away from her GF stuff. Aside from all the Coeliac related benefits, Frying Nemo's food always tastes fresh and delicious, and the setting is beautiful. They even provide bug spray, which is often essential when you're near water up here!
