Was just ok. The fish was quite thin and dry but tasty and fresh. Serve for two was very small. I would have been happy to pay more but thats what I was recommended. No salt which was strange for fish and chips. Was happy it was wet season and wait time was quick.

A little bit pricey but otherwise fine fish and chips varieties. It's mostly about the location with great views at sunset at a table or the well looked after grass to sit on for a picnic. Waiting times can be a bit long to be served and fulfilled because the place is so busy.

I really loved the food here and the view was beautiful too. I ordered the Jewfish with the crumbled batter style fish and chips. I dipped it in spicy Thai sauce. It was incredible! Some of the best, if not the best fish and chips I've ever had. I prefer it over the style the Brits do it. The staff was lovely! This is a very casual place, no frills at all. Only reason for 4/5 stars is because it was a bit run down, bathrooms were hot and sort of old. Go for the food, and views!! Really relaxing place.

Great fish and chips with a beautiful view. Serving size is really big and theres quite a few variety of fishes you can choose from. Shop owner is also very friendly and graciously allowed us to chill for a long time! (He even offered us more water despite us having finished our food!)

In the shade, nice and fresh location, clean, friendly staff..... and did I write ... Great view?!!! Take bus 14 to Cullen Bay, or walk from CBD if u r energetic. Located near Cullen Bay Seafood (see my review) either walk up from street or aim for the beach and walk along footpath. Friendly and chilled, owner has been there 6years. Popular at sunset

The ocean view here is beautful. The oysters were very fresh but for a business that is realient on the ocean it was disappointing to see so much single use plastic, which is destroying our ocean. Have you considered any alternative to plastic cutlery and plastic sauce containers?

Three stars for the quite generous serves. However, the barramundi we ordered was not Barra - the flavour of Barra is distinctive and unmistakeable! Very confident we were served flake which itself has a distinctive slightly ammoniacal flavour. So false advertising but they’re not alone in that unfortunately 🙄🤨

Delicious fresh Australian seafood in a magnificent setting. The owner made a special effort to get us a Spanish mackerel fresh from the boat which was well worth the minor wait. Cannot speak highly enough of this food.

I have been to La Beach a couple of times now. I do struggle with paying $20 for fish and chips for one person. The fish (SA Whiting) and the chips were very nice, the setting, looking across the entrance to Darwin harbor to Mandora is very nice, but it is still just a fish and chip shop by the water. Would I go there the next time I have a craving for fish and chips, most probably. If they added pineapple fritters to the menu, most definitely. Not the place for a cheap meal but definitely the place for a relaxing, casual meal by the water.

This place was highly recommended and is very popular. So popular, Sunday evening there was a queue out the door waiting to order for over an hour. Unfortunately the barramundi I ordered wasn’t up to expectations- greasy. The fried prawns were also slimy like they had been frozen before frying. Ordered half chips - larger quantity than what I expected so that was a bonus but they just didn’t taste good - maybe old oil or overused oil, slightly over cooked. Sorry, but I was disappointed in the end.

What a beautiful spot to watch the sunrise whilst the kids play. Lots of food stalls nearby & a big yellow bin with toys for the kids to play with. The grass is well kept & it is a great family atmosphere there. Definitely be back for some more relaxing times.

Ray and the team at Cullen bay fish and chips are just amazing, I arranged for my 27 visiting family members to eat on the lawn but a storm arrived so Ray and the staff made space for us in the restaurant, everyone had special orders it was no trouble for the chefs everyone throughly enjoyed their meals. Formerly, La Beach was an upmarket restaurant. But the proprietor decided that the market, in his locality, needed another choice, pitched at a different sector - and that's where La Beach sits now. Usual range of Fish & Chip Shop offerings - all locally caught. Dine in or take-away. Licenced to sell beer & wine. Adjacent to a large car-park. Access requires patrons to use stairs. In front of the dining area, is a large area of manicured lawn, overlooking Darwin Harbour - take your F&C out there, and watch the ships come and go. Highly recommended.

The best fish and chips i have had in a long time. The staff are great, very family friendly (i have three boys under five) with free face painting for the kids on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Last time we went they even knew what our order was and had placed it before we got up the stairs to pay! You can't beat La Beach.
