My experience of Billy's burgers was just an okay one. The Billy's Burger was okay but not the best I've had. The bun could have been softer and I'd prefer if they don't use the tomato ends where the green stalk is. When I asked about the Billy's brew (the beer on tap) the guy didn't sound the most enthusiastic about it and I could see why, it wasn't the best beer that I've had either. It wasn't all bad, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed with a choice of outdoor or indoor seating. The workers are friendly and approachable. Overall I would like to suggest that they consider using a brioche bun, or something lighter and less dense on their burgers and maybe consider scrapping the house beer.

Do not miss this amazing gem. Spectacular burgers. A sensible size, enough to be filling, not so much that you leave feeling like you've eaten to much. Unbelievable buns. Mind blowing fries/chips. And the Smoky sauce, yum yum yum. Add to that you team your delicious meal with a fabulous glass of something wonderful. This is a must stop and order. You will not be disappointed.

One of our favourite place to visit when we are craving for burgers, chips, sweet potato chips. Tried and love the arancini too. Bit busy during lunch time, so try to schedule your visit to avoid the wait. Or, if you are coming in a group (5 or more people) then better to make reservation to ensure that you will have a seat

Super burger and drinks bar right on the harbour. Friendly staff and you can’t beat the location. Burgers are tasty and I recommend the sweet potato fries. Get down after your daily tourist activity for an early dinner and take advantage of happy hour. Can’t beat $5 schooners and 20% off drinks and food 4-6pm daily!

MUST TRY!! On Wednesday evening I went for a walk around the harbour and looking at the windeward Bound I discovered Billy's Burger.I loved the blue coloured theme and I could sit close to the windeward So, I decided to give it a go. I had really good meal and a really good time talking to the staff at that time. When i am in Hobart next I know where I will be. Keep making people happy with your delicious burgers.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who is super hungry for good food and great customer service. So worth it and the meal we order (2 burgers, 1 drink, 2 snack items) all came to $53 which is so reasonable! Looking forward to coming back whenever I come back to Tasmania again. Would easily recommend!

Went there for lunch, and it wasn't one of those busy afternoon. This bloke in his 20s took my order and were very rude. Waited 20mins, and saw what looks like my foods sitting under the heater light while he's playing on his mobile. Went and asked him if that's my foods, he gave me this "can't you see I'm busy" look. He keep staring at me after I got my foods, and stare at me as he walked passed. He then proceed to clean up the other tables aggressively and make loud noises (swiping the bottles/plates onto the bin). I understand it's a burger place, not a fine dining restaurant. But do I deserves to be stared at and feel intimidated just to get my food while it's hot?? P.S. the owner reached out and promised he is going to work on the services. Look forward to see improvement!

Heard the hype of Billy's Burgers, went to try for myself. Service was great, burger was delicious. Pulled pork fries rather average for the price you pay for them, serving size of chips was pretty poor but the coleslaw was plentiful. IMO the pulled pork fries are no where near worth the price or size of competitors. 🤷

Good burgers however the reviews are a little over the top. The burgers are ok. Our wait was over 30mins to get our 4 burgers and 2 servings of fries. If you are hungry make sure ask how long the wait is ... The sweet potato fries had way too much salt and not too serve Coke at a burger place was not cool 😩 Wouldn’t be coming back here in a rush.

As far as burgers go, this is the best I've had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, not greasy or salty at all and sauces bang on. Better than any I've had in Melbourne. Lots of great local beer available too. It makes me sad I don't live in Hobart.

Food was great, a tad smaller than I expected but delicious. The young girls behind the counter weren't very vigilant, it was a windy afternoon and the rubbish from the four tables uncleared outside was blowing into the water. There are facilities for clearing, returning your own tray and id suggest making it better known that these facilities are there.

The burgers are good and definitely better than the American Chains, especially the flavor of the beef, but then it should be too, as much more expensive. Operates similar with young people manning most functions overseen by Billy for quality control. I had to wait over 15 minutes for mine to be made which I wasn'r phased by. But is it, as some claim, the best burger I have tasted? No it was a fair way off, beef was not as thick and juicy as some that I had had that are freshly minced as you order, nor were they flamed grilled that I could tell. Billy's dressing fell short for my tastes too almost trying to hard rather than let the taste of the beef shine. Glad those that go here keep the $ in Tasmania

I recently visited Hobart and the best meal I had while there was at Billy's Burgers! I'm a vegetarian so I ordered the Char Siew and some fries. The portions are very generous, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely. Also, do yourself a favour and try a Hartz soft drink while you're there! They're Tassie made, and the raspberry flavour was delicious!

The burgers are ok if you can handle top 40 music from 10 years ago blaring in your ears. There mustn't be many standards to compete against in Hobart to get this many 5 stars below. The atmosphere is cheap, the chairs are hard, the tables are laminated to look like wood, the plants are fake, there are are stacks of Cola crates on the floor, everything seems very fish and chip shop in western Sydney. This doesn't really take advantage of the serenity of literally being on the Hobart harbour. Why waste that opportunity. As a takeaway option it'd be ok.

Best burger place. Discovered this little gem while trying to find a fish and chip shop surprisingly. Went on Saturday night for dinner. The staff were brilliant. Extremely kind and easy to talk to. The best burger I have had in many years. Got two Billys burgers, a chicken burger and two serves of fries. The burgers were brilliant. You could taste every component of the burgers, from the meat to the sauce to the salads. The chips were melt in your mouth good, and definitely didn't need sauce. Would definitely go back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this place is you want a good quality burger.

Exceptional. As a massive burger guy I can say the Double Billy Burger was perfect: big enough, juicy enough, filling and worth it. No side of fries needed, though I did get a Chocolate shake to go. Billy's Burgers redeemed the 'locally sourced, produced' label that Tassie is known for as I've had some shocking burgers from all around Tassie. I may have to call back in on my way north of Dark Mofo isn't too crazy! Easily in my Top 3 Burgers. You need to make up a few stickers, or simple merchandise. The napkin won't last as a keepsake!

Even tho it was a particularly busy Saturday night I found the service to be extremely good. The front of house manager was doing an amazing job of remembering every one and coming outside even to check on people who were waiting to order or waiting for their orders. The burgers are better than....any where I've tried in Hobart. Highly recommend either pre ordering through their Facebook page/website if you're wanting takeaway and booking in advance if you want to eat in... They also have a nice bar and live music!

Good happy hour specials - great service and brilliant burgers! Especially in Tasmania, some people in service can't get rid of you fast enough. Dropped into Billy's with my partner and the owner was more than happy to have a chat, walk us through the menu and give recommendations. A friend and went for lunch as we'd been told they had vegan options (and they do), and it's close to my workplace. But the Beyond Burger, was not a burger at all, just a few strips of some kind of mock meat, and it was decidedly average. The mushroom burger was pretty good, but both burgers were very small, and IMO not very good value. The chips were good though! Edit: Thanks for the reply Billy. It's great you've gone to the effort of making sure the buns are vegan (why oh WHY do they put egg or milk in burger buns??). I was expecting something similar to Beyond Burger at Lord of the Fries (and the Beyond Burger I had in Germany) and got excited that this available so close to where I work. I do think clarification on your menu would be good. And I hope you have a great festive season too :-)

Well, I have a bit of an unfair advantage... but I am always honest with my reviews! I was pleasently surprised when my colleague and I had dinner tonight! Staff were warm and welcoming, price point was nothing to frown at and the new kit out from it previously being TUG Bar was well thought out. We both had the Billy Burger and my oh my was it delicious!!!! The sauce was great, the patty well done and the fresh lettuce and tomato 👌 You can not compare Billy's Burger and Bar to Jack Greene or any other burger joint in the city... It well surpasses it!

I heard really good things about Billy's and ordered their chicken burger combo via ubereats. The flavours of the sauce within the burger and the goey cheese were delicious but alas, the chicken was dry and overcooked. I also ordered a milkshake that was way too sweet and i could only have a few sips, despite being a big sweet tooth myself. May give the pulled pork a try - i wish the chicken burger had fried chicken instead of grilled and that would be perfect.
