Comments of Fish Frenzy
A. V.
My gorgeous fiance Darren Baillie took me out to dinner.
We had the seafood platter which was so amazing, highly recommend it.
We had an amazing night as
Gary the manager was so friendly and fuss over us.
Always checking to see if we needed anything which was very nice as he had so much waiters that could have done it.

I had a battered fish and salad, partnered with a glass of cider. Perfect way to spend a lunch time!
Fish Frenzy is located right on the wharf front overlooking the ocean, really is a fabulous location and stellar view.
Staff where polite and helpful, service excellent and fish cooked to perfection! Salad was also lovely, perfect size; I left feeling happily contented and not over full.
Would happily come here again, a recommend from me!
A.
Went there twice for lunch during our recent short break in Hobart, food, service, location all top notch & super fresh & nice local wine list
M. T. A.
Lovely food, nice view of the harbour, service was ok. Worth a try.👍
N.
No trip to Hobart is complete without a trip to Fish Frenzy. Enjoy delicious fish and chips down by the dock and watch the ships as they journey in and out of the harbour.
I do recommend the Grilled Market Fish, crispy herb salad (and chips). Excellent.
The Apple Tasmanian cider was a sparkling cherry on top.
Special thanks to Gaz for making it memorable.

The best seafood I've ever eaten in my whole life so fresh and yummy
M.
Amazing food and service I could not recommend this place more. We ordered a seafood platter it came out so fast it was astounding. The food was fresh and crispy nothing felt or tasted drowned in oil and the oil was definitely fresh as there was no old oil taste. If you want great friendly service and amazing food then definitely call in here🐬
J. L.
A lovely place by the waterfront, run by a group of hardworking and friendly folks. They took us in very close to their closing time and insisted that it was no trouble at all, which is such a rarity!
The tempura battered fish was perfection itself - light crispy batter on the outside, thick juicy fish fillets on the inside. Chips were a tad bland for our taste, but would definitely return for the fish if we are ever back in Hobart.
E. D.
The only place on Hobart's Waterfront to eat seafood is the restaurant named FISH FRENZY. Every time we fly into Hobart from Melbourne our first stop for our evening meal is the FISH FRENZY. The restaurant is licensed and the food can only be described as absolutely YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY.....It is located right on the waterfront and the experience is awesome. You must try their wedges which are famous for the WORLD FAMOUS PINK POTATOES..
J. R.
Good friday absolutely heaving, we thought we could be in for a wait and a sloppy meal but couldn't have been more wrong. Absolutely fantastic service from front of house and culinary team, our meals were delicious and served so quickly, wait staff were friendly even though it was extremely busy. Best fish and chips in Hobart! Thank you!
M. T.
Great fresh fish and chips! Love the chill atmosphere, fairly priced. The salmon was okay though, the fish frenzy is definitely their highlight
V. K.
Amazing!!
This place cans highly recommended and now I know why. The food is the freshest seafood you’ll get! Tasty and well presented
Service was great. Casual dining at its best. Reasonably priced. We are from Sydney snd would recommend anyone wanting a great meal to simply pop in.
Y. K.
I ordered a pier platter and 12 oysters for two. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and highly recommend this restaurant. The Staff was very nice and kind.
P. R.
If you want fresh seafood of high quality and atmosphere wine and dine here, absolute treat. You can also takeaway.
Cheers Pat

Ordered fish frenzy ($23). You get what exactly was described in the menu. It was in a cool big paper cone. But there is really not much in it - compared to few seafood places around the wharf for the same price. Sadly, the chips and fish were really really bland. It was fresh, hot and not oily, but just bland. Calamari was great though! Maybe try other else in their menu. They got pretty good Google reviews from others so we tried here.
S. R.
The owner and staff are absolutely lovely and friendly. Calamari was the best I've ever had and it's such a beautiful spot. Best seafood in Tassie!
L. D.
Fish Frenzy is worth the hype!! After a bunch of average customer service experiences, the greeting from the team at Fish Frenzy was a warm hug. The oysters were super fresh, prawns tasty and fish cooked perfectly. Definitely will be coming back
J. W.
We’ve been to Fish Frenzy quite a few times during our stay. The seafood we tried were very good in general. The calamari is so fresh and tender without being over chewy. Highly recommended for seafood lover.
S. C.
Only had the snacks and wine here- but very relaxing and beautiful location next to the water
M. A.
This is a great place to get local Tasmanian sea food. The scallops are delicious, and the tiger prawns are amongst the best I've had, anywhere. No nonsense, fast, service and outdoor seating. Great location right on the water. I went twice in two days and I almost never go somewhere twice when I'm in explore mode.
E. E.
Phenomenal fish and chips, best I've ever had. Flathead and prawns fresh and cooked/crumbed cleanly. Fantastic
M. M.
I ordered x3 of the premium fish, all were Blue eye cod trevalla cooked in 3 different forms
1. Tempura
2. Beer battered
3. Crumbed
My favourite and the most flavoursome and moist was the tempura after that was the beer battered. The crumbed was super dry and not how i enjoy my cod being cooked.
You have to find your table, remember your table number then walk to the counter to order your food. There is also an extensive selection of alcoholic drinks available. There is seating both indoors and outdoors, staff are friendly and food service is quite quick. Seafood is fresh and cooked well.
J. C.
I cant comment on the quality of the food as we didnt eat here. My comments are about the lack of options for vegetarians. I realise its all about seafood here, but not all groups are 100% fish eaters. My only option as a vego was chips.... no potato cakes or veg burger... So we left.
J. O.
With waterside views that is hard to beat, this place is a lovely restaurant to enjoy platters of fresh seafood. The calamari was pleasantly crunchy, well cooked, and the fish was enjoyable. The meal however is on the pricey side for fish & chips, but it is certainly worth the visit of you plan to be in the area.
K. R.
Ordered chowder twice. First time stingy with the seafood for a $25 dish. Gave them a 2nd chance and more reasonable seafood for the price. Avg rating bc of inconsistency--wouldve been higher if so.
楊.
This mixed choice tastes really good and delicious. The device is good and friendly.
J. B.
Well Fish Frenzy has been here for quite a few years, but my first time here. Catching up with some girlfriend's, it's a perfect place to start your long lunch or evening into the night...
I placed my order and was able to change the scallops for some calamari, a couple abit under done for me, but all in all food and service was good. The pieces of fish were perfectly cooked and sooo yummy...
I. T.
Great place for fish and chips. It is situated on the pier and on sunny days, it’s great to enjoy lunch with the water view. There are a selection of fried and grilled items. Food comes out pretty fast and staff are efficient. Service is also friendly. Only downside is the food is quite pricey.
S. P.
One of the best fish and chips in Hobart city.. Just loved their fish burger and oysters..fresh and juicy..one thing to remember is going in evenings they run out of lots of dishes. Best time of visit is during day, more options are available. Perfect spot and quick service.
M. M.
I am obsessed with this place.😍The meals are fresh and tasty, every time! Very friendly staff and reasonably fast service. It does get crowded at times, so take away is the way to go at those moments.
G. T.
Lovely fish and chips all the time I have been there. Nice and friendly staff. So crambled prawns and calamaries are always fresh and crispy. Not gonna disappointed you. Recommended. It is worth to drive or walk down there and have a good view on constitution dock in Hobart.
A.
First time we visit a new place we typically try the fish and chips there. Don't know why. Just a thing we seem to do considering how many fish and chips shops I have reviewed. We went to Tassie we went here for lunch. We ordered fish calamari rings and chips. Amazing. Crispy chips and the fish and calamari were not oily. Highly recommend it!
C. C.
Best local fish & chips we've tried! Very busy, amazingly fast, we'd barely sat down and our food was upon us, local salmon & trevally cooked to perfection
A. N.
My preferred destination on Constitution dock for fish and chips. Service is friendly and welcoming. Plenty of seating both inside and outside while you take in the views.
I could not go passed flathead and chips. Chips are tasty and most importantly thick.
L. D.
Delicious seafood, extremely fresh. The herb salad was very nice too. Friendly service, highly recommend
D. N.
Wanted to love this place as our guide informed us this is the best fish and chips place in Hobart. The service was good and efficient. However like most reviewers commented the basic cheapest packs which is NOT cheap by all means is really tasteless.
My partner got the Blue Trevalla in beer batter which tasted great but it cost the same price as basic pack for only two small portions of fish.
Overall limited menu and very pricey. Hopefully there are better options among the many fish and chips outlets.
F. P.
Barramundi fish and the Tasmanian salmon were amazing! Both were served with salads on the side!
Good view from the restaurant of the dock. Location very close to the centre of Hobart. Place very cozy and clean. Staff friendly. Highly recommended!
Z. Z.
good fish and chips, nice place, outdoor seating is cozy
K.
They try their best and the food is pretty good but having to queue and order at the counter makes it very ordinary. Tends to be frequented by tourists.
S. B.
For sure, fish and chips are always good choice in this place. I also had the seafood soup. I was lovely and the stuff were nice as well.
J. L.
Located at the pier highly convenient. Food being served quickly, but tasted fresh and delicious. The deep-fried crumb was perfect, not thick at all.
C. S.
I would give this place 6 Stars if possible.
Well priced, honest, fresh local Seafood with exceptional service.
Please don't sell out to high end pressure.
R. W.
Absolutely the best fish and chips we've had in Australia! We had the Fish Frenzy "cone" which included crumbed fish fillets, scallops, calamari, and chips. It was big enough to serve two, an incredible deal when you consider how good this was. If you only have time to go to one fish and chips place in Hobart, go to this one.
A. M.
Not as good as I expected from other reviews. Food is ok but seemed a little expensive for the quantity and quality - although I'm sure location accounts for that. Friendly staff.
P.
I stumbled across this place, great service and quality food. Great view as well. No table service, but once you go up and order, service is very quick. Will come back when in Hobart.
P. C.
Was excellent first time had fish and chips in a cardboard cone thought it kept food warmer for longer but on a plate good service too
M. N.
We are amazed by the way they decorate the dishes. Such a creative way to keep the food warm longer under cold climate in Hobart.
P. S.
Service was quick and attentive. The calamari rings were pretty good, however the fish came out underdone and cold in the middle
C. C.
Beautiful food! The most enjoyable atmosphere. A very well run busy operation.
A. A.
Classic fish and chip place by the dock. Nice and spacious with good service. The crusted prawns were delicious!
M. P.
Very nice service, food is prepped and served amazingly quickly and it looks - and tastes! - just great.
B. Y.
Best Seafood Chowder, packed load with seafood, would recommend trying in the afternoon as they sold out by night
G. D.
Pier Platter by the water. Delicious mix of hot and fresh seafood with heaps of sauces and friendly staff.

First time we visit a new place we typically try the fish and chips there. Don't know why. Just a thing we seem to do considering how many fish and chips shops I have reviewed. We went to Tassie we went here for lunch. We ordered fish …
J. L.
Between the four of us we ordered a range of food from the menu. The seafood was all very nice and fresh. We recommend ordering from the grill.
t. c.
Yummy fish and chips. Reasonable prices and relaxed seating areas.
J. L.
A great place for fish and chip. Good food and friendly staff.
R. G.
I ordered the eponymous "Fish Frenzy" dish for takeaway. So fresh and delicious! Scallops were a particular favourite of mine. Moderately priced but definitely worth it. Up there with the best fish and chip establishments in Hobart. Do yourself a favour and check them out :-)
D. G.

K. T.
Staff friendly. All the tables where clean and staff where wiping them after each customer left. Ordered beer battered trevally. Fish tasted fresh. Tasted nice. It would be nice if fish and chips where included package.
C. F.
If you like fresh, tasty seafood cooked to enhance the natural flavours with no deconstructing of the true flavours then you must visit, great seafood cooked simply at a great price
X. F.
Beautiful fresh seafood. Delicious chips. Super nice staff. Clean restaurant. Great atmosphere. Definitely will go again
I.
Good fish and chip, fresh. But are the local scallops really that small? Good selection of wines/beers and food. Compact space and gets busy. Friendly staff.
s. s. g. s.
One of the best Fish and chips in Austrailia 👍👍👍 I have tried Tasmanian Salmon 😋😋
F. P.
Friendly staff. Food was good and we didn't have to wait long for it.
If you sit outside remember: please dona feeda da boids
G. D.
Pier Platter by the water. Delicious mix of hot and fresh seafood with heaps of sauces and friendly staff.
J. G.
Fast service, food came out incredibly quick even with a full house. Amazing selection of fresh seafood and drinks coupled with friendly service makes this a MUST visit when in Hobart.
S. P.
Lovely to sit outside and watch the sunset as you dine. The food was lovely
J. L.
A great place for fish and chip. Good food and friendly staff.
G. c.
Excellent food and Great services👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼I never like fried food, eg fish n chips but this one is really great. Good price🥳🥳
H. A.
Based on: Saturday afternoon visit for lunch. Ordered Fish Frenzy and salad. Service was superb and the food was delicious.
V. O.
We where disappointed we had to go to the counter for food and drinks, separate counters. The oysters where fresh and very nice, the fish burger was delicious but the scallops made me sick that evening. The staff are friendly, nicer charm in side, but was not one of my favourites..
I'm comparing this to the restaurants we went to our previous nights, Greek & Italian.
M. N. (. M.
Really good oysters and scallops. Great value, chill vibe without appearing too pricey.
S. W.
Beautiful scenery, great service and super fresh seafood
M. W.
Delicious seafood chowder and great service.
U. C.
Tasty food, especially loved the scallops and the fish. Service is fast. Best fish an chips spot on the island !
A. D.
We were actually going to visit the burger shop next door for dinner, however we saw how popular Fish Frenzy was and loved the waft of the fresh seafood so decided to give it a go instead.
I'm glad we did as the fish was incredibly fresh and melt in the mouth. The wedges weren't really wedges though, more like roasted potatoes however I really enjoyed them still. The portion size was good and we got our meal fast.
The only thing is the prices of fish are very expensive!
A.
One of the nicest seafood restaurant in hobart both qaulity and price wise
F. D.
We went here twice while visiting Hobart! The staff were wonderfully friendly, meal size was huge & the chowder was so delicious!
It's a must!
C. T.
BEST Fish & Chips in Hobart, Tasmania & the entire DownUnder. Die die must try.
Staff service is impeccable, warm, cordial, helpful & efficient. All the dishes are awesome, fresh, tasty & large serving. Plenty of seats. Premise is clean & cosy. I highly recommend anyone & everyone to dine here whether you are alone or with your loved ones, friends, colleagues, customers or visitors.
A. B.
Recommended by my bus driver. Fantastic service. Food was amazing, presented we too. No imported fish. Delicious
B. H.
Has got to be the best Fish Burger I’ve ever had, and even though it’s a busy night it came out incredibly quickly! #winning
S. H.
Great place with great food. However I would like to use the Alipay to pay for my meal due there is 10% off. But after all I cannot do that, because the machine is not working... So I cannot get my discount. Which I am not happy about it.
O. B.
Homey place to enjoy a variety of seafood. Very tasty oysters and good chips. Casual but cute.
B. Y.
Best Seafood Chowder, packed load with seafood, would recommend trying in the afternoon as they sold out by night
T. N.
The food are pricey and not reasonable at all but on holiday season you may not have any other choices than this place.
R. T.
This has the potential to be a nice restaurant, they have location on their side, however a few elements cheapen the experience, you kind of pick your own table, then have to go to the counter to place your order, but then pick up your drinks from a different counter and then they bring the meals to you in a gimmicky oversized paper cone that you can't really eat out of and have to pour onto your plate, so why the meals don't just arrive on a plate is beyond me, unless you were having take-away that is.... The batter on fish was thin and crisp, the fish and chips fresh, as was the herb salad. Overall we enjoyed the food and the views, albeit a little pricey for classic Fish'n'chips.
T.
Amazing fish & chips, great location and the owner is superrrrr friendly and so, so lovely! Thanks for the great service and lovely dining experience!
t. c.
Yummy fish and chips. Reasonable prices and relaxed seating areas.
N. V.
Great burger and fish chowder
J. C.
Best chips. Lovely service. Great harbour view.
A. G.
Just arrived in Hobart, what a way to start the trip. Great food by the water
C. J.
Not necessarily the cheapest fish and chips on the docks, but better value for money overall than you might think. Plus staff are super friendly - my three year old left his favourite stick behind when we left, and one of the waiting staff deliberately put it aside for him. Can't say fairer than that.
K. P.
Fast efficient service. Highlight for us was the scallops and salad. Delicious and fresh seafood.
S. P.
Without a doubt Fish Frenzy has the best oysters in our travels around Tasmania. We have eaten here many times during our stay in Hobart. The staff are delightful and we have eaten our way through the menu. All fresh and delicious.
N. G.
This is the place to have lunch or dinner if down by the docks. Meals are large and fresh. Licensed. Get in early as can get very busy. Dinning inside and outside. Food was decent and reasonably priced. We really enjoyed the meal. the ambiance is very nice. Service was very good. Recommend. Amazing
A. S.
Fantastic sea food, wonderful location and staff who go the extra mile. And Tasmania is heaven on earth.
T. D.
Amazingly fresh, plump oysters, great service and location.
O. C. S.
The food is great. We tried the shrimps and Fish frenzy. Slightly pricey. However, overall it is good.
H. L.
Fresh, fast, and delicious. Enjoyed the fish wrap
P. L.
Had the fish platter, was absolutely tasty! Just enough for 2 adults and 2 kids. Very fresh oysters, lovely cooked squid, fantastic fried prawns, scallops and fish.
Will visit again when next in the state.
A. K.
Easy paid parking close to the restaurant is a bonus. School holiday special ‘shark attack’ was a winning lunch choice that pleased a toddler and a school kid. Food was served fast and service by the staff at the counter was pleasant. We will be back for more lovely seafood meals in the near future.
R. G.
Lovely location and huge servings of fish and chips in a giant cone... wish there was some sauce as well...
S. B.
Amazing food! Expensive in general but when you consider the consistent quality and fast service, so worth it! 3rd visit while in Hobart this week!
E. J.
Have eaten here twice in my life, fifteen years ago and last night, needless to say the quality remains very high and the seafood fresh and nicely cooked. It’s also nice being served it in a paper cone traditionally.
E. L.
Really excellent seafood and service. A little pricier than some of the nearby places, but well worth it for the quality ingredients.
I often get the fish frenzy meal which includes two pieces of crumbed fish, three scallops, three calamari and chips. Or their seafood chowder is absolutely amazing as well.
If you're there when the weather is nice the outdoor seating area is wonderful as well, I tend to find the indoors a little cramped due to how busy they can get.
m.
Excellent fish and chips and some good choices for more healthy options. The Asian salad is amazing. Always friendly and quick service. Better than Muirs.
M. P.
Great location by the wharf. A good range of beers and wines and fish and chips that were highly memorable and well worth a visit alone!
B. C.
Service is really fast considering how busy this place is. The tall guy behind the bar was extremely friendly and warm.
S.
Fresh seafood, great atmosphere and customer service
V. M.
Best chips in town and everything else. Cooking on point. fast service. Child friendly.
M. S. B. M.
They’re NICE but not the best.. might have been set aside before re-frying..
Random guy passing by
“Bang bang”
J. B.
If I could give 6, I would. Best authentic seafood and amazing service.
C. B.
Great view ,busy night, short time wait.
M. H.
For Good Friday this place really was a frenzy! Despite that the service was extremely fast, efficient and friendly. The shared seafood platter was one of the best I've ever had with every aspect absolutely fresh, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. It's more expensive than your average fish and chips store, but you definitely get what you pay for. Excellent value for what you get.
S. T.
Fresh Fish!
Oysters a must try and the price is good for what we are offered.
Loved the fish burger and the shark attack.
The portion is really big and perfect and so is the place. Loved the location. We went on Sunday afternoon and it was pretty full but the service was fast.
Went again for dinner but they were sold out on a few dishes.
A.
Lovely food and friendly owner.
E. T.
Lovely fish and chips. Great oysters too!
M. D.
The main reason I liked this place was the great range of fresh seafood. High turnover, no fuss place for dine in or takeaway.
M. E. 5.
The food was fantastic the staff were friendly and excellent customer service
G. K.
Been to other restaurants but this place was a place to remember. Food was excellent , staff were great and I will be back. You must got to this place as it’s worth every cent
G. D.
Always get good quality food here. Line can be long to order but once ordered food always comes fast. Crumbed scallops are my pick of the menu.
V.
Was here with a travel mate whom I just knew two days ago. We like the oysters and the fish! We didn’t know what to order, the owner recommended us their catch and we are very happy with the recommendation!
The owner is very friendly and very honest. He didn’t recommend us the most expensive dishes but a rather very affordable one - and it’s very delicious.
I usually don’t go for fish and chips (too many choices) but I recommend here. The food is as fresh as you can get from the fisherman.
T. J.
Such friendly staff fast service.
Ordered calamari and salad and small chips.
We virtually sat down and they we're at our table with a very high quality meal.
Manager was very pleasant.
Japanese girl was efficient and friendly.
L. H.
Food tasted great. Portions are small though, especially for the money. Obviously it's a great location.
K.
Great chill place for fish and chip
N. H.
Super food. Unique menu and very fast service.
J. F.
Great place very friendly staff seafood chowder awesome
E. G. K.
Great and super fresh fish. Highly recommend the Grilled Blueeye Travella.
A. C.
Just had dinner at fish frenzy tonight. The chowder was amazing. Also had the beer battered flathead, fish was sweet and batter was not too heavy and light and crispy.
N. C.
Great oyster in town!! Fresh and delectable!! Give it a try!!
2. j.
Menu is a little small but food is good, good range of beverages
H. K.
Nice for lunch! Ordered 2 of the Pier platters to share they had run out of octopus however the manager added more scallops to one and extra S&P calamari to the other. Food was cooked well and they had forgotten the oysters on one of the platters which we asked for and were given.
The free bottled water with cups... don't touch it as it tastes like recycled urine... yuk!!! Had to buy water. Apart from that service was good and eating on the water a treat.
S. N.
Driving to the airport from Launceston we dropped it an old favorite down on the wharf... never fails to be impressive and just yum
F. G.
Great food and staff. Had a fish frenzy which was delicious and quite big
Z. L.
Food was nice. Quick and friendly service.
J. B.
Some of the best fish & chips I’ve ever had. The Greek salad was also top shelf. Sometimes places serving fried food have salad as an afterthought, but these guys nailed it! Very polite, friendly, and thoughtful service!
O. L.
Cosy place, friendly staff and decent seafood
a. t.
Best meals and prices, but truly, above all, is the exceptional service especially the owner himself. Always with a genuine smile on his face; he is passionate and loves what he is doing...
A. Y. J.
Fish was ok. Scallop was good. Service was great
B. M.
Arrived on holiday and after looking around, my wife and I chose fish frenzy. We are very pleased we did. Staff were friendly, place was clean and nice tables and view. Food was generous and taste was excellent. Highly recommend.
S. N.
Can't get enough of fish frenzy's amazing and fresh seafood dishes. More more haha
S. J.
Good food, self serve. Many dishes are deep fried, but light and not soggy (perfect for dashing with vinegar). It's loud inside but plenty of outdoor seating. Had fish frenzy dish and salt pepper calamari dishes.
C. H.
Three crumbed pieces of fish, chips and tartare sauce $21.50 with lemon. A tasty selection which went down well with a Boats Premium. Great spot on the pier. A great place to eat.
B. D. B.
Great tasting fish, good chips. And lovely staff (after I fixed eftpos machine hahahahaha) but honestly they are great
S. F.
Disappointed. I had Fish Frenzy, calamari was hard and I left two on plate. Also the fish was dry and tasteless. My partner had Crumbed Blue Eye Trevalla which he said was lovely. Other times here we have enjoyed the meals but I am hesitant to return any time soon.
M. B.
The food here is worth 4-5 stars easily, the only down side for me is how crowded and busy Fish Frenzy can get - but that’s testament to the food quality. The calamari is my go-to, but everything I’ve eaten here has been fresh and tasty. Perfect for any sort of occasion, and a must-try when you’re in Hobart.
T. H.
The team with whom I have worked for the last decade were scoping around for a new experience to satisfy our Christmas lunch-time cravings when the idea of 'fish & chips' was landed upon. Fish Frenzy was the first store considered and we perused their menu at our leisure before popping in to their restaurant to place our order. We ordered for 11 people at 12.30pm three days before Christmas. In many cases, most would say that any expectation for a prompt serving of lunch would be naught but a pipe dream. Fish Frenzy significantly exceeded our expectations. Lunch for 11 was ordered, paid for, cooked and served in under 10 minutes, at lunchtime, three days before Christmas. And the food? Superb. The fish was cooked to perfection and the chips were light, fluffy potato and a crunchy exterior. Scallops were well regarded, calamari was marvellously cooked to the contentment of the mouths which veritably inhaled it...we were well impressed!
We can recommend the lunchtime dining experience to any who crave a snack to eat of something more with which to sustain themselves.
J. M.
Staff were great, checked back with us a number of times. Fast, fresh seafood. Easy inside or outside benches & tables to sit at. We had the best battered flathead & chips, some great scallop. We also tried the fish cakes which were okay. Our party of five included locals who recommended Fush Frenzy for an easy tasty meal.
J. G.
Great selection of wines , different selections of seafood, it’s an order st the counter and take your number type of place. We tried the variety platter with the French fries which are a must!! They have s great little patio off to the side. Sun, seafood, and wine ...can’t get any better than that.
B. R.
Great food and views, friendly service
C. L.
Amazing and busy place. Wasn't able to get to Bruny Island due to time constraints. Fish Frenzy in the pier area had Bruny Island oysters and we ordered a dozen, possibly some of the best oysters we've ever had. Washed them down, along with the fish and chips, with brews from the Cascade Brewery that we just visited.
T. L.
Best fish and chips I've ever eaten.
D. O.
Had dinner Saturday night, ordered 2x Fish Frenzy's, and had a small order mishap, one order was missing some parts, but alerted the staff, and was quickly corrected, Thank for the excellent service and good food.
Y. Å. M. Ê. Z.
Good menu selection. The less expensive meals use imported and frozen seafood - so beware if you are under the presumption it's fresh Tasmanian produce.
Nonetheless, the meals are well created, value for money and delicious.
W. D.
OK but not good enough to return to. Fish portions small and on the dry side and the vinegar available very tasteless, watered down perhaps. So one star lost on the fish and one star lost on the poor vinegar.
J. M.
Okay so the staff and the location is amazing and a fun experience. But the food is not really much better than a street side fish and chip shop. Limited menu and ordering a salad just means you’re paying top dollar for the same fried stuff but with some green. The wine was really nice though.
G. E.
Always reliable, always ample and delicious servings. Still the best waterside fish outlet in Hobart. Their cones are practical, good value and never disappoint. It is possible to say that generations of Hobartians love this place!
C. D.
Fantastic oysters, delicious calamari with an asian inspired dipping sauce and awesome crunchy fresh salad, and a really nice local rosé. But the best part was the service! So attentive and welcoming. Best way to enjoy a day off in Hobart even on a cloudy day.
C. J.
This place was packed and the service was fantastic. The staff were wonderful. We ate the platter and it was so good. The variety was lovely, everything was clean and fresh. This was our first visit but we are going back today.
P.
This place is awesome in every way - but especially the quality of the food! So fresh and so tasty! Very fast and friendly staff too!
L. C. F.
Ordered a battered flake, salmon and grilled prawns and we loved it. Flake was soft and juicy, salmon and prawns were nicely grilled and fresh as well! Service was fast as well
A.
Great food, I had the salt and pepper squid with the herb crunch salad and it was delicious. Service was quick and it’s nice to sit outside and overlook the water. The great news is they have got rid of their plastic straws and replaced them with paper. WELL DONE ! !
A. M.
The position was good but it was very crowded. Over $80 for 2 of us and was given a meal double the price because they had ran out of what we ordered but didn't explain that. The fish was ok and the friends we were with said the Salmon was tasteless. We had a much tastier and cheaper meal in one of the pubs along Salamanca.
R. B.
Fish Frenzy is consistently very good - I had trevalla tempura tonight which was perfectly cooked. Great service and an excellent venue ... all in all I highly recommend this for a healthy meal in a beautiful part of Hobart.
l. c.
The sea scallops are amazing. Very friendly amd helpful staff.
D. I.
Casual dining at the Hobart waterfront. Seafood dinner was unpretentious, tasty, and served quickly with a minimum of fuss. Good ambience. Gets quite busy at peak times.
M. J.
Can't fault the food... the fish is all beautifully cooked. Service is friendly - they must serve hundreds a day but they make you feel as though you're their favourite customer. Eat at Fish Frenzy if you're in Hobart!
E. S.
Had the Trevella with tempura which was absolutely delicious. Very light and not too much batter. The service is super fast. Only the fries could use a bit more perfecting.
T. O.
Recommended by our hotel, we shared the fish frenzy and the grilled salmon and crunchy herb salad accompanied by a Freycinet Riesling. Delicious and generous portions. This place nails the simple things.
L. C.
Food and service great.Very busy but meals came out quickly.Great staff and customer service.Lovely place to have lunch on a beautiful day with friends.
S. K.
There really a frenzy of fish at this store. I had fin (haha) eating here, and I would go back any day of the week. I will say I fell into the water while I was hanging around, which is not the fault of the shop but made my experience less enjoyable. I got very wet.
Y. D.
Perfect seafood! Get in early to avoid the crowds!
r.
Really nice fish and chips not cheap, but the scallops are the tastiest so far, after 10 days in Tasmania
M. M.
Came here for Lunch and what a treat! Had the plater for 2, seriously good, salmon cooked to perfection, prawns to die for, everything so fresh.
My partner has some food intolerance issues, when she mentioned it, the staff went out of their way big time to accommodate us. The staff knew exactly what is in their food and went well and truly above and beyond for us.
Thanks guys, made our day!!!
S. K.
Great food and fantastic service!
C. T. L.
I like the grill flathead fillets on salads.
r. s.
Fish is so fresh and they do sell what they say.
We went here twice and would recommend to any one wanting a good old fashioned fish and chip meal. Reasonably priced.
R. S.
I chose Fish Frenzy purely on Google reviews. Service was great and location is nice, chips were great, but fish was average. I will be trying a different shop next time.
白.
Nice view! Perfect prawns!
N. H.
Very nice place with delicious fish!!!! We ate blue eyed tulan and it was uncomparable! Place is full of people, but you always find a place, it is very affordable, probably you don't wait for your waiter by the table, but order you food by the counter, which make it faster.
D. H.
Spent new years in Hobart, and we had to stop into here! We'll worth the feed. Staff we friendly and service was quick. Location was perfect. Thank you team for the positive experience!
M. D.
Massive servings. Fish is fresh, chips are crispy. Staff were friendly and sitting outside is really nice with all the boats.
N. K.
Great fresh fish cooked in different ways all with tastiest chips, not forgetting the tartare sauce. We had 2 great value for money meals.
R. W.
Great value in a seafood plater for 2. Not overloaded with chips to make it look bigger.
P. J.
Fresh seafood and fish and chips. Oysters were the freshest I've ever tasted. They say it was just picked from the sea that morning. No wonder it was so sweet and juicy.
T. N.
Great taste of tasmanian salmon with chips and prawns with crunchy herb salad. Highly recommended. You're gonna love them and order them again soon.
C. F.
Good food, great size portions. Although you can do take away orders, it is a better experience sitting in for service. The seafood platter looks pretty amazing.
Z. Z.
Great fish just a bit overpriced for what you get especially considering the four floating seafood restaurants nearby with reasonably priced meals. Expect to pay around $25-30 per person for some basic fish and chips.
N. J.
Lovely place. Great view and excellent fish and chips. We love to order Blue eye travella and salt and pepper squid. We think the best shop in the harbour of Hobart.
D. D.
great tasting old style fish and chips. very friendly, helpful, happy staff. always visit fish frenzy when in Hobart - highly recommend 👍
A. L.
Great fish. A little pricey but for the taste it was worth it. A must if you are in Hobart. On a nice day sitting outside is lovely. And what a great location.
L. S.
Fun experience but the food was just ok - not that fried food isn't always at least somewhat delicious :) The calamari was a little chewy though, the fish was pretty great. You must order the fish frenzy and experience IT ALL!
M. B.
The fish was good and the staff very friendly. We almost didn’t wait once we ordered, food was ready super quick!
R. S.
Incredibly helpful & friendly staff every visit . Super crispy chips & very generous serves. Stunning views, awesome for a family. It’s a thumbs up 👍 from me .
J. H.
Amazing fish and chips!! 🤤 Very friendly service too.. tartare and other sauces were free too, which is a nice bonus these days!! 👍
M. B.
Fresh fish fab chip empty plates !!
G. B.
Amazing seafood platter, really fresh and great service as well. Super quick and super clean!
N. H.
Had the blue eyed travella. Was excellent. Bread crumbed much lighter than normal deep fry.
Good atmosphere right on the water. Not hyped up and good service.
B. G.
The food here was delicious and inexpensive, but the best part was the enthusiasm of the staff and kindness that they treated us with the whole time we were there. Definitely a great place to get lunch.
T. T.
It's okay but $19.50 for 2 pieces of beer battered flathead fish only nothing else
P. L.
The fish frenzy plate is fantastic value. And very tasty. After trying other restaurants, this place is the best. Hold on the oysters though, go to Bruny Island, and eat the oysters there!
C. Z.
Nice food! Friendly staff and cozy environment!
p. x.
My family and I have been going to Fish Frenzy for years now. Great service, super fast and don't mind paying the extra dollars for food/service that is consistently good. My recommendations are the chowder, seafood platters....actually everything is delicious!
V. K.
Great atmosphere by the water. Seafood was fresh and decently priced. The staff were very helpful and so energetic.
S. D.
If you want beautiful views with your fish and chips, this is the place. Friendly service and great chips and calamari rings. However, the fish we got was quite dry.
B. S.
Friendly staff, amazing fish and chips. Will be back before heading back to Melbourne. Marry my uncle please guys...
C. T.
Fresh and fast, super friendly in there. They recommended the blue eye travella, it went straight down the hatchet. Scrumtious seafood
M. W.
Food was delicious, plenty of it, staff very friendly.. We had scallops and salad, fisherman's basket, salmon and salad, somehow we ended up with 5 meals plus an extra chips, so much food, but we managed to eat most of it!( between 4 people)
N.
Awesome food and view of Hobart
S. M.
Delicious & freshly cooked seafood.
Nicely presented.
Friendly staff.
Great location.
Well priced.
Definitely recommend.
A. N.
Delicious, fresh, gorgeous eating space with glass around to enjoy the views. Definitely recommend for a pit stop if you're around the pier.
M. S.
Best fish and chips I've ever had. Increidbly friendly staff. Older gentleman who served our group has us laughing the whole time.
M. B.
I am a fish and chips lover I will seek out the crisp thin batter and golden fries. This is one of my favorite fish and chips spots in Australia. Servings generous, pick from flathead, blue trevalli or flake. Parking at front of dock area. Tops for family or couples, tables inside or outside overlooking dock.
D. M.
Calamari and salads fantastic, the staff are great, good drinks list and casual atmosphere. The scallops were poor well overcooked, but I would come back again no problems.
H. S.
Great food. Three of us went there for dinner. We had a mixed fish & chips. It was great. We sat outside as it was still hot.
S. B.
Best fish and chip shop in Australia.
In all my travels I have not had better.
All meals are fantastic.
Congratulations to the staff and management.
G. F.
Good service. The Blue Eye is great eating with a light tempura batter. Scallops are yummy too. Get some in a cone and stroll along the Pier.
S. P.
Great fish and chips down at the he harbour. If you are feeling indulgent after doing some massive walks in Tassie, go for the Seafood mixed grill and a bottle of Janz sparkling.
B.
I ordered the fish frenzy which was only ok. The fish is Dory and Ling and it was crumbed not beer battered which wasn't as yummy. The scallops were also average.
R. S.
Good food fast and friendly service
j. t.
Great fish and chips place by the wharf
J. C.
Awesome fish and chip place! I had grilled blue eye with garden salad which was delicious. My family loved the salt and pepper squid salad and the calamari and chips.
K. T. R.
More pricey than regular fish and chips but definitely worth the price. The crumbed fish was excellent, as was the chips. All was freshly cooked.
S. R.
Great customer service. Food tastes good. Bit slow though
R. M.
Awesome fresh fish. .. can still taste my meal. Definitely definitely visit and indulge. You'll love each and every dish.
K. S.
Find it from review. Good taste and fish are also big and fresh. Smoky salmon chowder is a must. They also have fish of the day which you can try it.
J. S.
Good fish, chips are always a bit bland. A lot of folder what you order, and shell fish is never undercooked (they play it safe and cook a bit over).
E. C.
Grilled fish was very nice but it came at a high price, the Childrens fish was very poor and looked like it was cooked from frozen, my daughter loves fish and it was a real disappointment..... she loved my meal though!
P. M.
Amazing sea food platter !
M. H.
Great fresh food, service was amazingly quick.
D. A.
Wonderful Staff, Top class service and Superb Food which is always cooked to perfection. I strongly recommend Fish Frenzy for the ultimate dining experience. Posted by David Andrews.
J.
Good for families. Fast friendly service. Staff were happy to replace a meal we'd ordered when we discovered it contained an allergin. Happy with the food.
B. M.
Yep. Fish was quite good. Chips in a big paper cone were really fun and they were nice chips. Good location. Good range of booze to drink by the dock.
EDIT: The greek salad the unexpected winner. Just delicious light fetta, not overpowering and went nicely with crunchy fresh red onion.
I get what people are saying about the calamari though. While they were big generous pieces they weren't as fun to chew on as they could have been. Maybe smaller cut and cooked differently would be better? More seasoning perhaps, I.e. like salt and pepper calamari from a Sichuan/Cantonese place? Agree that something was lacking on the calamari front.
R.
Good food but was let down with poor service. On an average night (not too busy), took more than half an hour to be served and when I inquired, they had actually forgotten/lost my order. There were 3 waiters busy on the floor with but no one noticed me waiting for my order. Just a little dissapointing.
P. A. T.
Food excellent! I had Salt & Pepper Calamari & salad. That was heaps. Service great & very obliging & pleasant. I'll go again, highly recommended.
C. L.
Great fresh tasting seafood!
Ordered the pier platter, althought it was a bit pricey, it was absolutely worth it.
Great customer service.
S. H.
Friendly staff, slightly soggy fish n' chips from the vinegar, right by the pier. 10/10
N. D.
Best quick service and best fish in Hobart town. Always a favourite with the kids and parents.
Staff always friendly.
A. D.
Pier Platter easily served 2 adults and 2 kids at a decent value price. Food service was very fast at a peak time.
S. G.
Best fish and chips of my entire life!
K. N.
Great food! A bit pricey but worth it!
A. P.
Super friendly service from the team, and we enjoyed the fish and chips too!
H. S.
fishburger not what it use to be. But nice. Quick service and they stock a good variety of Tasmanian wines. A must visit when down at the Hobart docks
P. R.
Busy sit down fish and chip shop in the pier harbour front. Tasty fish and crispy chips. Drinks available if you want them.
S. J.
It was fine. Portion sizes were good, calamari was overcooked and chips were half dregs. But the food came quickly
A. K.
Great food
C. j.
Quick. Speedy and friendly service. Food fresh and delicious. Enjoyed our visit very much.
B. E.
Very friendly and helful staff... fast and efficient... I think they use good quality seafood, but it all lacks taste; in fact food is very tasteless, and lacks adequate seasoning
S. M.
Top quality, good value and friendly service.
The food was exceptional for the price.
Small chips was bigger than my head!
A. P.
Great service and the food was really good. Recommended by a local friend.
A. H.
I sincerely believe this to be the best fish and chips shop in the world. Keep coming back. Its insane.
b. b.
Looks so nice but unfortunately my Dish was over cooked so my squid was too hard and my fish was dry oysters had shell pieces Strange souce the chips was ok not my cup of tea
M. G.
Excellent food, great position looking over the water. Closes at 8:30pm in winter, which caught me out at an inconvenient moment. When they're open they're tremendous though.
N. B.
Best fish n chips! Friendly service and though busy didnt take long to get our order.
V. C.
Great fish and chips and seafood.
K. T.
A nice little restaurant for a seafood dinner close to the waterfront. Portions were really big, food was tasty enough and service was quick. Prices were also reasonable.
H. K.
Great staff, delishes grilled fish and nice wines.
D.
Best fish and chips you can eat in Hobart. Friendly staff. 5 of 5 stars

J. K.
Awesome friendly n prompt service. Excellent food. Try the salt n pepper salad n fish frenzy. Yum. So fresh and excellently prepared.
d. c.
Delicious and fast service good size
B. P.
The fish chowder needs more than two scallops, two prawns and one piece of fish. Lots of celery and carrot, flavour was good.
L. C.
Nice place for fish and chips but be warned it gets extra busy. We were here mid week and still had to wait a long time even to order.
J.
Food was excellent, great serving size & value for money. The staff were excellent & very friendly.
R. P.
Good fish and chips. Service is excellent. Price is a little high for fish portion but quality is good.
M. Y. W.
I enjoyed the battered blue eye trevalla
B. S.
We had lunch as part of a conference. Food was tremendous in a cute container. Hot crisp ,even supplied tomato sauce. What more could one ask for
V. N.
Great service. Fish and chips are lovely. Salads are good. Scallops are tiny though and sad looking.
F. H.
My grilled fish was fresh and tasty! A perfect dinner and a good healthy alternative to plain fish and chips.
G. A.
Great fish and chips and very friendly staff. Our accomadation was up stairs so it was perfect.
R. K.
Food was delicious and came out quickly. Service was great too. Friendly staff.

Fish Frenzy was not the same this time. This has always been our go to place when in Hobart. The quality was not as good and left us a little disappointed.
D. T.
Excellent and friendly service and super seafood. Nice outdoor seating, gets busy. Really enjoyed.
N. M.
Lovely Calamari Salad and their battered fish is yummy and very fresh!
N. E.
Fish is fresh, but the taste is average. Price consider on the high side. Chowder soup is a bit blend.
J. P.
The service is phenomenal! Only outdone by the magnificent food. Best seafood, and a great price in Hobart.
M. H.
Super fast service, fish frenzy meal was great value for money! Left with a full tummy and a happy heart
b. g.
Great friendly service. Very obliging staff. Large servings. Seafood chowder is divine.
B. V.
Food is great and quickly served with excellent views out to sea. Only four stars because it can occasionly be a bit cold but not always.
T. B.
Beautiful fresh fish with a great atmosphere. Can be busy and there's no reservations, but it's worth the wait.
s. s.
Delicious fish and chips. The mixed plates is a must try item so as their hot apple cider.
B. C.
Ok but not great. Large servings but pricey. Nice water views but not flash decor. Fish was so so.
K. D.
Good food, fast and friendly service, with plenty of GF options (recommend the grilled scolops with chips) yuummm
J. H.
Nice views of the harbor, good Tasmanian wine list, and excellent, very fast fried fresh fish! Moderately priced wins the day!
L. F.
I would have to say, that they served up the best chips I've ever had
The calamari and the scallops were average, but the chips were amazing
K. P.
Very fresh and very tasty my dad and I had the fish wrap and chips, would definitely choose it again.
J. M.
This place is my local for fish and chips. Always fast and friendly service, fresh fish, and not too greasy. My favourite is the fish frenzy.
O. S.
Hands down best fish and chips in Oz (hell yeah, proper chips and not french fries, finally). One more good reason to come down to Tassie!
J. B.
On the ball staff keeping everything clean, super friendly, and exceptionally fast food service!
R. S.
Extremely fast service, friendly staff, and perfectly cooked chips. Sometimes a small cone of hot chips hits the mark on a crisp autumn night!
J. T. A.
good food
B. H.
LOTS of food for the $$. My husband and I shared a dinner & neither of us could finish our half. Not sure it's the"best fish and chips in Australia" but it's fun and good
G. B.
The best thing about this place is the chips. The fish is okay but the calamari and other seafood options are pretty ordinary.
M. L.

Always love the pink eyes and a Moo Brew Stout (no longer Cascade coz they were too gutless to support the kunanyi cable car) from T42
J. A.
Excellent fish restaurant worth the wait you might have to do before getting a table
J. M.
Get yourself the "fish frenzy" fried seafood sampler and enjoy the waterfront views. BTW this is one of the limited places to get the indigenous Inncider brand Tasmanian cider.
S.
Called in with relatives for a great meal after cruising down the east coast. Wasn't disappointed by the quality of the food and location.
S. L.
