Fresh seafood and amazing service. We paid $120 (quite pricey) for the platter however loved the wide variety of seafood options. Definitely got my cravings satisfied!

Tavern 42 Degrees South We dined here tonight to celebrate my Father-in-laws belated 80th birthday. Our waiting staff Joel and Brock were so interactive and informative with our menu which we loved. They had great things to say about the food and recommendations for pairing wine. Our experience was fabulous, fun and everything tasted great-we also loved the wine pairing suggestions and the complimentary bubbles! Please pass on our thanks to Joel, Brock and the Chefs please. Had lunch here on a Sunday afternoon. We sat outside near the water which was good as we watched the Lady Nelson sailing ship come in to dock. Atmosphere was pleasant and service was friendly. Meals were good value for money. We had burgers, salt and pepper squid and warm salmon salad. Would recommend for a quick bite and would eat here again.

Stumbled across this gem and could not be happier. With views of the Harbour it's tucked behind a fish n chip shop and if a stranger hadn’t told us there was coffee around the corner we would have missed out. We were on a tight time schedule and the friendly staff had the food on our table within 5 minutes of ordering. We had the green bruschetta, and granola bowl - both were delicious, and very filling. Bonus - when we came to pay we were told they had a half price special on the weekend! An absolute steal - we’ll be back tomorrow. Thanks guys!

We couldn’t wait to visit and try the menu with the re-opening of T42. Everything was how it should be, great atmosphere, fantastic service and most importantly - amazing food. I can honestly say i had the best piece of fish ever. A generous serve of local Blue-Trevalla cooked perfectly and served with an apple and fennel slaw. A really enjoyable family outing and looking forward to visiting again over Summer.

Wow a poached egg on a Caesar Salad - brilliant! Chips to die for and high quality beef found in their burger. With a gorgeous setting overlooking the harbour and excellent service - its a great choice along the Hobart waterfront.

We ate here twice during our trip, first time I had the salmon and my wife had the lamb - both were excellent, in fact, the second time I had the salmon again. The brownie for dessert was also good. Staff were super-friendly and accommodating (we had our 1 year old asleep in a pram and they changed our table to suit).

I have to say, my Caesar salad was the best Caesar I've had. My partner had Mussel pasta dish, the flavor was good but the mussels were quite dry. Food priced ok Drinks are a bit pricey ($13 for a pint of cider )

Visited on a Tuesday evening with my fiance, and had a wonderful experience. While as a vegetarian I often find it hard to get a nice meal that isn't a boring salad or bowl of vegetables, I found the meal here amazing. One of the three waitresses we had was very friendly and polite - reading the other reviews it seems that not all the staff are as nice as she was. The meal was served in good time, and the gnocci (vegetarian) was absolutely amazing. It was the perfect portion size for a filling but not too heavy meal, and my fiance's Moroccan lamb was flavoursome, tender and cooked to perfection. As we are from interstate we won't be able to frequent the restaurant, but the next time we visit we will certainly be returning.

Would have given 5 stars, but a couple of the staff members are quite rude. I'd almost go so far as to say hostile. Once the management sort that out, it'll be 5 stars all the way!

After unsuccessfully ringing multiple places around Hobart for a Mother's Day breakfast for a medium sized group, T42 where happy to accomodate, even putting us in a small function room which was perfect for the kids. The service was friendly, fast, helpful and particularly accomodating when a member of our group had to leave early. The food was also fantastic, flavourful and fair priced with everyone commenting on how fantastic their breakfast was. Overall was a very positive experience and will definitely be back next year!

Location is what fills this restaurant and it is superb. We spend some time there to watch the yachts after the race. Slow delivery of coffee, average service and prices are on the upper limit. The barista should know the difference between a Latte and a flat white, but apparently doesn't!

My wife and I had dinner here on a wednesday night. it was very busy but our orders were taken quickly and we were served quickly. The pork belly was perfectly cooked and the sauce with the schnitzel was delicious. I highly recommend it!

Visited Tasmania over the Easter weekend. Walked in to have lunch and we shared a seafood pasta and a poor belly dish. It was unexpectedly really good and they used fresh produce. We shared a Creme Before and let me tell you that it was the best Creme Brulee I have ever tried. This was served with some caramelised sugar coated banana and an almond biscuit. Nice friendly syaff. We came back another night to just have Creme Butler and some drinks. The bar tender, Travis really knows his alcohol and mix drinks. Definitely recommend this place.
