Good chips and great calamari! Convenient location next to the beach aswell.

Very, very, very nice. Such a great place to sit down for a bite to eat. Perfect location just across the road from the beach and a park. The range of fish is incredible and the chips are deliciously perfect followed by a large variety of icecreams, such as mint choc chip, strawberry, chocolate aswell as icypoles too. Takeaway is also a great option, very and reliable! I would recommend over and over again. Please if you have a chance check it out!

Such a great location by the water. Eating here, the food really speaks for itself. The fish wasn’t oily, and the chips were delicious. They weren’t traditional thick potato chips, but I was happy with that as I’m not a fan of that type. By no means is the establishment flashy - as shown in the pics, but take it for what it is. Definitely would return when I’m back in Hobart.

What a pleasant surprise for our Sunday night meal today. Yes it's "just a fish'n'chips" shop-but it also offers a lovely and delicious dining experience. Of course the fish and chips were great-that comes from from using good ingredients and cooking them fresh. My great delight was the curry chowder. Wow-what a discovery! I'd keep going back for that alone. Beautiful prawns were a treat. The squid rings were tender too-unlike the rubber variety many other places serve. So , highly recommended.(and special praise to the staff)

I have been a couple of times to the Fish Bar in Bellerive. The little Bar itself is not very inviting but it has good and fresh food for sale. The place has room for a small family to sit down and eat. A few times I have bought fresh fish. Unfortunately they never seem to have Tuna for sale but most of the time one can obtain salmon.

who says winter sucks in Hobart? because it's officially scallop season. This place is awesome for yummy, local sourced, fresh seafood such as scallops, trevally, blue eye, salmon etc. you might not get your fish and chips instantly because they cook the seafood fresh but it's well worth the wait. You can sit in their booths or head to the beach during the day

Fresh flake for lunch and pleasant service. Can't go wrong! Not as cheap as your corner takeaway, but portions were generous and it's definitely the real deal. Decor is dated, but has its own charm at the same time.

If you want fish &chips that tastes good, served by friendly staff and at a good price, this is the place for the eastern side of the Derwent. Excellent location across the road from a park that has plenty of facilities and a stone's throw to Bellerive beach.
