We knew nothing of this restaurant and chose it on the basis of its location between various family households across Melbourne. We could not have chosen better, in fact it was so good we are booking it again for our next family dinner. The food was tasty, the set menu generous and the staff was willing to vary the set menu to accommodate our tastes. We comprised 7 adults and a 13 month old who was welcomed enthusiastically. Browsing over the menu online, we thought we'd check out this restaurant as we all love Indian and Nepalese food and the combo is great. There seemed like a lot of variety; some of the "old faithfuls" from Indian restaurants, and also some new-to-us dishes on the Nepalese side. We walked in and were the first group to dine for the night. It's got a nice decor about it, without being too fancy, and we were warmly greeted and promptly seated at the table. They gave us enough time to browse through the menu after having explained a few dishes, which was helpful, and came to take our orders. Considering we - at that stage - were the only diners, it took a little while for the entrees to come out. Yes, they do Uber or Deliveroo or one of them, but there wasn't plentiful orders coming through at one go. Eventually the entrees came out and they smelled great and tasted good too. Mine - a salmon dish - was the last to come out. I cut into it, and low and behold, it wasn't salmon (in all honesty, it was the reason for ordering that dish). I could tell this immediately by the colour and was disappointed. The waitress came over and explained they had "run out of salmon" (so early in the night) and they used Baramundi. Firstly, I'm glad it was a fish I could actually eat (because I can't eat all fish) and secondly, why did no one say anything before prepping it?? What if I didn't want it anymore? They asked me - once it was in front of me - if I wanted it still and I actually didn't want it, but refused to keep waiting and waiting for them to cook something new. So I ate it, and luckily it was tasty. I would have thought as goodwill, they might have said, "here's a free beverage", or "we'll take it off your bill", but there was no amends to this. When the mains came out, they were all delicious and prepared how we requested. There wasn't a whole lot of room on the table for the dishes, but the meal itself was good. The mango chicken was actual mango sauce and so delectable. The things I didn't like about Aagaman was the way they handled the situation with my entree, and I didn't like how the waitresses/owner would shout out things to the kitchen from inside the restaurant. We'd hear "they're still waiting for ... " often or things to that affect. But what I did like was the taste of the food. It was really good and reasonably priced. The people were friendly and the restaurant was well lit (lamps on your tables) and it had space in it and not cramped like some places can be. Parking might be a problem during the year on busy Saturday nights, but this one - straight after Christmas - parking was easy. Would I recommend coming here to eat? Yes, I would. And I look forward to coming back again, maybe in winter.

3.5 / 5 Not too many options to choose for a last-minute plan, Aagman topped the list as most of the restaurants shut by 9.00pm. Already famished after tiring Saturday spent with filing our taxes, paying our bills and putting the final itinerary in place for our 10 days trip that starts on the 27th September, we ordered our food that comprised of Rice, Naan, Malekhu Fish Tikka, Chettinad Chicken, Gulmeyley Lamb Curry. At 9.00pm it was very crowded and we were sure that the food would either be awesome or Bad. Gulmeley Lamb was easily the Dish of the Day. Perfectly cooked and flavored. Chicken Chettinad definitely was tasty but tasted more like a mild version of butter chicken than chicken chettinad...Nevertheless, totally enjoyed it. The fish tika was perfectly spiced and.grillwd minus the color...Which was such a relief. Over-all we loved the food here, and definitely the complimentary papad basket. What we would have ideally liked is a bit of cleanliness after the customers have made a mess of this place. Plenty to choose for Vegans and Vegetarians. Easy on pocket and very warm and friendly staff. And too our surprise they are a part of Gold Offer too. It's perfect time for any South Asia Restaurant to be noticed as Melbourne is more open to experiment than usual and.Aagman has the making of making it big but it gives-in to the usual instead of tapping it's potential.

Dont you love a restauarant that provides hot plates? Add warm friendly service and youre off to a great start. The food is tasty and generously portioned. Curry was the right amount of spicey level. Momo dumplings were different but very delicious.

The food is 5 stars. It's beautiful every time and for that we keep going back and will no doubt continue to do so. There just seems to be no communication between front of house and the kitchen. Every time we order there is a mistake. A missing or changed item. You question the front of house staff who are lovely, they run into the kitchen, you hear a big argument/debate, they come back and tell you 'sorry the kitchen ran out' etc. every time. The food is well worth going for but someone in their kitchen is ruining the experience, unfortunately.

Nepalese dumping(momo) were amazing, we did try few Nepalese along with Indian, didn’t let us down. When we enter the venue it was busy so we thought to have entree so don’t need to wait long. Indian food is my most ordered delivery. I have tried most restaurants from here to st kilda and this is without a doubt the best around generous portions, tender meat and flavourful sauces.. and great rice too. And best papadams. My go to is the lamb saag but will try the goat curry soon. Do yourself a favour and try this place it’s really good value as well. You won’t be disappointed and FYI I am extremely fussy. Simply said, it has one of the best Naan breads that I have tasted. The goat curry (or curried goat) is superb. It's fairly low key, but the staff are really helpful and gave some good advice with orders. The rest of the experience was really good. I was stuffed afterwards. They also cater for large groups. Reasonably priced, and a good turnover of food to table after ordering. Very tasty and flavoursome. I recommend.

Daniel was our waiter and his hospitality was amazing. It's not easy to look after such a big table but he did such a great job. The food was great and there was such a variety to choose from, every single person thoroughly enjoyed their dinner. I would personally recommend the goat curry and the chilli chicken. The naan was quite possibly one of the best I've had anywhere in Melbourne, but you gotta eat it while it's hot! For the service and food we got, the prices on the menu were well worth it! I can't thank you enough for being so accommodating. You didn't force us into a banquet menu, you helped in splitting the bill at the end, you put up with our noisy/chaotic family AND you did it all with a smile. 10/10. THANK YOU!

This Nepalese restaurant was a very good find by a couple of friends. They are addicted, and wanted me to share it all with them. The ambience is casual and friendly, but there is seriously excellent service here. There is a distinct feeling of being welcome. It is a long narrow restaurent in the Port Melbourne strip mall shopping district. It is immaculately clean, and the overall presentation is modern and comfortable. There is a very comfortable long banquette against one wall, and a good sense of space. The noise level even when full is not too loud, and gives a cheerful background to your meal whilst not inhibiting conversation. Lovely white crisp tablecloths and generous cloth napkins. The food itself is delicious. Each dish we ordered was distinct in flavour, and prettily presented in traditional copper bowls. We ordered way too much food and were able to take home with us enough to feed another adult. Total bill for the night was $108, and this included three deliciously different meat curries, one vegetable curry, two rice, two naan, and one delectable entree dish of chicken dumplings. And mango chutney. The ambience felt like this was a well appreciated local venue. The service staff seemed to know all the custoners, and to be very pleased to see them. I really liked it, and will go back to try out some more dishes from a very interesting looking menu.

Tandoori meat platter was delicious, couldn’t fault chicken meats however the beef and lamb so so dry and tough. Butter chicken was yum but beef vindaloo so weird not like anything I’ve had before. Veg momos had some strong seasoning and overpowered not in an appetising way. Spinach and cheese naan lacked spinach but cost more than a plain cheese naan. Service was interesting, let’s leave it there.

It's not bad, almost too rich for my liking, I only order from here if my favorite My Masala is not open on Tuesdays. Their momos are delicious though that's 5 stars for that! I like my Kormas as shahi kormas, more gravy than chunky with cashews and I think their palak paneer is too bland.
