Absolutely fantastic restaurant!! So much better than just your typical Indian restaurant. It was absolutely delicious!! Great food!! Brilliant Service!! Couldn't recommend more highly 💯💯
a. s.
Came for the Tuesday vegan all you can eat and was not disappointed. The curries were delicious, the rice was light and fluffy, and the garlic naan was freshly made and incredible.
I thought we'd be ordering more but the first serving they gave us filled us up so much I had to roll home.
As far as a value meal, I think it's not a great saving for $25 a head, but the taste and quality were 10 out of 10.
We'll definitely be coming back.

This Indian restaurant has repeatedly proved itself to be authentic, inexpensive and a great place to dine in or get takeaway. The staff are always polite and pleasant. I strongly recommend this restaurant.
E. J.
A must try for both Indian novices and the indoctrinated alike. Whilst the food isn’t pristinely “traditional” they are pushing the boundary on what Indian food can be. This is a gateway into the best of Indian food for those who are yet to catch the bug and a celebration for those who can’t get enough of it.
Enjoy the papadi chaat and cauliflower 65 for an exciting entree. Indulge in the slow cooked daal and keep coming back for the cauliflower curry.
This venue provides a compelling array of vegetarian/vegan dishes that celebrate vegetables rather than supplying an afterthought from a meat heavy menu.
An undeniable gem for st. Kilda and Melbourne are large.
Thank you for being in my life.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience. Staff were busy yet attentive and helpful.
Shared starters and mains which were delicious. We couldn’t pick the best.
A. g.
Nice small place. Tried couple of drinks 🍹 and Tandoori chicken 🍗 starter which was quite amazing. The meat was quite juicy tender and well cooked . However, for a person with Indian background you may hope if food was but slightly more spicier as most of dishes we tried were a bit sweet (especially the curries) to suit local tastes. Nevertheless, nice place and great food 🥘
V. M.
Good food... Good location.. and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
T. M.
Super tasty! We had bhaji, papdi chat, and some vegan curries and LOVED IT ALL. Definitely worth popping in or grabbing some takeaway
N. V.
Service and food were both great but a bit too pricey.
For entree we had pani puri, papadi chaat and kurkuri cauliflower.
For main course we had butter chicken, baingan bhartha (eggplant) and naan (garlic&chives and sesame and onion seed)
For dessert we had ras malai (not pictured here. We got a bit greedy for it before the photo)
E. B.
I have eaten Babu Ji’s 3 times now and every time it has been delicious. I love consistency and every time the food I’ve ordered has definitely met my expectations.
I recently ordered take away due to restrictions and ordered a curry and naan which was designed for one, however there was so much for me I have got two servings. Generous serves are definitely offered and really well priced.
The staff have always been friendly and love how they ask your name for the order, however continue to refer to you by your name. It’s the little things.
M. B.
Was here for a birthday dinner, not sure what the hype was about. Fairly standard food wise. For vegetarians it was a little limited, paneer dal makhani kofta and gobi 65. Gobi 65 and dal makhani were probably the better ones to choose. Service was a little below average had to wait a fair bit for out second round of naans, the staff wasn't really that proactive, friendly nonetheless.
Not sure if I can recommend for vegetarians, unless you're looking for something casual.
M.
Kerala fish curry was delicious! Onion bhaji and gobi 65 were pretty good. The garlic cheese naan was very underwhelming; it was like uncooked dough with no char on it. We will be back to try other dishes but maybe not the naan b

Being an Indian and having travelled across every part of India over the last 10years, I would say this is no where close to a good Indian meal.
Let's start with portion size which I found very small given the price. The waiting staff are friendly but the food is average. The worse part is extremely long wait time (more than 45minutes) for the main course.
Overall, not recommended if you are after a quick bite and an authentic Indian meal at a budget price. A good place if you are relaxed and can wait for your meal for a very long time.
M. T.
Ordered for delivery. Food came quickly and with no fuss. Kerela fish curry was delicious as was the Chana Masala curry! For a change I ordered leemom and coconut nice and was happy too, complimented the currys well. Will be ordering from Baba Ji again.
S. P.
Babu ji has been in stkilda for very long time although i love indian food, here isnt my fav. I have been here many yrs ago and recently ordered via uber but still not my fav 🙏 sorry.
And seriously uber drivers should not be giving reviews on their pick up experience?? From my experience uber delivery drivers are the rude ones and here this guy trying to prove something.. And isnt the restaurant helping u also by exisiting and giving u an order to take so that u can make money? So selfish imo
M. A.
What a great find. Visiting from Sydney and staying in St Kilda. Service was impeccable and the food was beautifully fresh and nicely presented. The naans tasted as good as they looked and the butter chicken was amazing. I also appreciated the great selection of craft beers.
L. M.
The food was really tasty and service was quick. The only negative is perhaps the price of drinks. Wine is around $14 per glass. Also we ordered the Gulab Jamun - for some reason we waited about 20 minutes and when the waitress arrive she apologised for the delay and placed on our table a bowl with 1 dumpling and 1 tiny scoop of ice cream. Thinking we might share this dessert it was a bit ridiculous. Also we were charged $12 for this 1 dumpling?!
P. M.
Good food and service, a bit pricey for what you get. There's a tasting menu which offers a few options. I didn't favour a dish or two, but generally a good feed. Recommend.
D. A.
Been for a quiet Sunday lunch. Ordered for a bread platter which seemed little on paper but was fulfilling later and were forced to request a takeaway for the left over. Liked the food specially Paneer Cutlet but disappointed with Gobi Mussalem as it was a bit undercooked.
Of course Wash basin and toilet was outside the premise which was unfortunate.
B. S.
Great food. Expensive compared to other India restaurants. Terrible service
P.
We loved it! Full of flavours and freshness.
I had the Dal Mathani (lentils) and was delicious. My partner's dad ordered the Blue Grenadier (with turmeric and mustard) and the table had to order a second one (to share with the others) because it was SO GOOD! The menu says it's a "must try" for a reason!
The Naan was fresh and delicate (we tried the garlic one); the basmati rice was very tasty.
The service was super friendly, professional and knew the menu.
The place itself is nice, but nothing special except for the portrait on the wall (pic attached)
The serve sizes were great for one person (obviously adding naan or rice for the pot)
Would definitely come back and recommend it!!
Tip: there is a good parking spot one block away, on Jackson street. (3hs free)
P. B.
Went last night with a 5 person group and the food was great. We did all vegetarian which had a good selection. Only seemed to be 3 servers but never felt we were ignored or under served. Selecting your own beer was interesting but not overly awkward. Would certainly go back again
A. D.
Dined here recently and I must say it's one of the better Indian restaurants I've tried in Melbourne. Service was professional and I noticed they do good specials at different times of the week.
We had the samosas to start with and they were delicious! The pastry was great, not too thick (as it often is with samosas) and the filling tasty with sauces that perfectly complimented it. I'm glad we ordered them although be aware that the samosas are quite big, they were almost the size of a meal in itself! It would be great if they made them half the size for a lower price.
I ordered the Butter Chicken which was delicious. There was no spice to it at all (I like it medium) and I didn't get asked how I'd like it. Next time I'd specify that to suit my taste better. But it was nice and creamy with a good portion of chicken. The naan was pretty good, I liked that it was light and buttery although could have been more fresh.
Overall, it was a good experience - will be back!
C.
Really delicious Indian takeaway. My husband and I ordered the meal for two and we were very happy with the quality and quantity of food we received. Will order again!
A. W.
Dined in for the banquet (3 people). Very good value with drinks included. Had so much food we ended up taking leftovers home. Service was great and the fact that we had 2 vegans, 1 meat eater was not an issue. Food was loved by all.
S. I.
@Heenal and Chander, are amazing managers.. they went above and beyond their duty to make sure whatever we requested was integrated into a unique and unforgettable experience. People have already spoken about the food in other reviews, I can vouch for their integrity and customer service standards without a blink!
100% recommended. :)
A. C.
Really packed on the Wednesday vegan night, somehow they fitted us in, delicious food and unlimited refills...
M. C.
We drove down from Adelaide to Melbourne to try some good Indian Food.. We were just Missing India..
One of the places we visited was Babuji.
Without a doubt one of the best Tandoori Chicken and Butter Chicken we've had in Australia so far.
First of all the ambience of the restaurant was so bright.. it was not dark and dingy like most Indian Restaurants.
Then the food was like nostalgia served on a plate.. everything looked like it was made with love and patience. Presentation was on point with small things to make go back to Delhi streets..
Tastewise tandoori chicken was tender, juicy and aptly spicy. Plus it was boneless.
Butter chicken was sweet but it was not bad sweet taste you get for curries.. I think it was sweet because of all the cream and butter and it was so rich and creamy... loved it..
Thanks for having it it was a great experience for our food tour.. ❤❤
T. D.
As someone who cannot stand coriander which is usually abundant in Indian cuisine this place is a godsend. I've always struggled to find Indian restaurants who can get everything right, the bread, the curries, leave the coriander out of my food etc. Babu Ji is the only Indian restaurant I've come across who gets everything right. Lots of fantastic vegan options, good amount of spice etc. Love having a local Indian place I can rely on every time. I've only ever ordered takeaway from them and find the portion sizes generous. Looking forward to dining in once restrictions have eased. Happy, loyal customer.
M. W.
Hands down the best Indian place in Melbourne. Every single dish we tried is full of flavor and is just delicious. Amazing samosas, papdi chat (yum!!!), and amazing mains (curries). Try their signature Babu Ji Golden Ale. Nice and refreshing on a hot day.
R. M.
Samosa entrée was nice, still wondering whether worth $8 a piece. The paneer & beef curries we ordered was 80% sauce/gravy, compared to meat content, not worthy of $25. I wish the waiter had told us exactly, when asked, the size of the naans so that we wouldn’t have to over-order. Overall experience was average for such a pricy restaurant.
Yes, one of the better Indian restaurants I’ve been to but still getting overcharged like all the others.
S. J.
Ordered takeaway tonight. Very disappointed. Tried calling to speak before posting this review but "Manager isn't here tonight" (Friday night). I was then hung up on after being told to wait. $25 per dish, Lamb Korma and Fish Curry. Both were watery and bland. Fish was the worst I've tasted and we eat Indian regularly. We support local business but this was just awful. Makes no sense given the ratings of others here. Would welcome a sensible reply from the "Manager". This is not the way to win regular customers!
**reply to Manager. Thank you Chandra for the feedback, we have eaten alot of Indian food, both Northern and Southern style yes but we are willing to accept your answers regarding food taste and phone call disconnection. The food did taste a little better for us the next day reheated but still without the fish and the Korma sauce was heavy on the salt for us. Perhaps you are right, just not to our taste. Will amend our rating accordingly.
T. L.
Had the family deal pick-up. We were so excited because everything on the menu sounded so good and different from usual Indian restaurants menus. However we were unfortunately disappointed. Had the pork vindaloo which was not spicy and quite tough. Palak paneer was bland. The naan was very dry. The cauliflower 65 I've had at other places is usually crispy, this one was soggy but tasted really good. Lamb korma was good. Was nice to try but I don't think we'll order again, especially at those prices.
J.
Have been here a few times and the food has consistently been above expectations. Highly recommend the Tuesday all you can eat vegan curry night.
N. G.
We chose here for my birthday dinner, as my daughter has Coeliac's and I heard great things about their gluten free food. We were not disappointed! Highlights were the butter chicken, gluten free naan, saag paneer and cauliflower 65. We will be back!
S. J.
Best Indian in Melbourne, never disappoints! All the food is so delicious, meat is always good quality. Perfect takeaway/delivery or a cute date night for dine in.
C. N.
Dinner tonight with my man. Food is delicious. We had the fish curry and spinach main along with a couple of sides. Super tasty! Staff are really attentive. Only complaint would be all the food came very quick and at once. But hey, can’t really complain for food being fast! Next time I will ask them to stagger the dishes so we have some time between each one. Otherwise, delightful dining experience. Will definitely be back!
S. M.
Awsome food..staff is very good..glad we found this place.
J. T.
I love this food so much! We have ordered 3 times now and have been blown away each time by the quality and flavour of these curries. Highly, highly recommend the vegan cauliflower curry and the paneer makhani.
B. M.
2nd or 3rd time ordering and I'm hooked. I don't often write reviews on Indian food but woweeeeeeeeee. I ♥️ Babu Ji 💃
E. W.
Was quite disappointed because we'd heard really good things about this place. Saturday night booking at 8pm for two.
I read a few other reviews and I see a theme with the $10 still water for the table. We arrived and they asked if we want sparkling or still, we asked for still expecting normal tap water. The still comes out and I acknowledge if this is extra, the waitress said yes and was apologetic and said she'd take it off the bill. I understand these up sell products help the business but this was just sly.
The food was also not great, a $24 curry (beef korma) expected somethingbetter than a normal Indian restaurant, the meat was chewy and tough and the curry was overpowering (and to be honest out local place for $14 feels more authentic with balanced flavours).
A positive was we had a tub of Ben and Jerry's and they did put it in the freezer for us while we ate, so a good point of helping with service adjustments.
The staff were also quite nice and attentive.
Unlikely to come back anytime soon.
M. C.
Been here couple of times and always the food is finger licking good.. Babuji Nevers kisses the mark of cost ambience and yummy food. Oh yeah location is great as to can always go out for a nice walk post your food..
T. F.
Ordered takeaway (obviously) from Babu Ji the other weekend. Absolutely delicious! Definitely ranks in some of the best Indian I’ve had. Even had a 30% discount by ordering directly through their own Website. We will be back, thank you!
S. S.
Ordered delivery, food was reaaaally good. We had butter chicken and the eggplant/ potato curry. It was just so yum. Looking forward to eating at the restaurant when restrictions are eased 👍
D. K.
Very authentic Indian. The staff were amazing. One of the waiters spent time with us answering our questions on curry we've never tried before. I ended up going with a fish one (that I can't remember the name of) which I was nervous about but it ended up being one of the strangely nicest ones I've tried. Quite rich but tasty.
M. C.
Great service, great food. Had the 3 vegan curries, rice and vegan Naan. All excellent. Huge selection of beers.
R. B.
Delicious local Indian. The meal deal for 2 is excellent value for money. Order from here at least once a fortnight. Can't go wrong.
M. A.
So the challenge here is to not over order. I’m vegetarian so that cuts out part of the menu, and every time I eat here I fail. From Indian style nachos, pomegranate paneer and awesome curries. This is a definite modern yet delicious twist Indian food. Service is always uber attentive and super polite. Enjoy!
N. D.
One of our favourite restaurants in St Kilda. Reading a comments there seems to be a weird issue with water... We usually grab a glass of wine so cannot comment on that part. The food that we ordered however, was delicious both time we went. Will go back again,
S. N.
Awesome food, great ambience and bound to make you remember your desi food all the way back to home!
If you are in a homesick mood to just dive into the best nostalgic flavors, it’s the only food salon you should visit!
A bit more expensive but surrounded with all that eclectic mad-clap of the iconic Italian restaurants of Saint Kilda, it’s a good decision to go there if you are just looking for some memorable desi food moments!
m.
food wasn't great. ordered different items both times, food was dry, or extremely bitter and burned. one of the staff was very disinterested, on their phone, watching tiktok/youtube the entire time we were waiting for our food
D. K.
This should be the standard for Indian restaurants. The freshly ground spices are immediately apparent. Perfect balance in spice and flavoured for my taste (but was a bit strong for my wife). Babu Ji delivered an excellent Indian food experience and is worth a night out.
n. k.
One of the most authentic Indian food places I have been to in Melbourne. The food is amazing, there are Bollywood songs from the 90s and early 2000s and the service is spot on. Definitely going back again and again.
R. R.
Excellent presentation of food which tastes yummy too...very good ambience..a place not to be missed if you are in Melbourne!! Had veg food - momos, paneer saslik , naan basket and kofta curry..loved all of them...to top it with mango lassi..great job guys...
M. B.
I really love the quality of food served which compensates the less quantity. Must try food if you want great quality food with right blend of mixtures. Food is medium spicy not too spicy so everyone can enjoy the good food. 4 stars because of the low space rest everything’s worth trying.
V. B.
Exceptional food and exceptional service!! The food at Babu Ji is as authentic as it gets. The twisted take on butter chicken or the achari salmon hits all the right notes. To complement the food and their smart decor, stands the remarkable crew that offers a cosy experience. Highly Recommend.
J. P.
I thought this Indian food had a unique and fresh twist. I absolutely loved it! The flavour combinations were delightful and the customer service was excellent. I would definitely go there again!
C. S.
We had a big group here for my girlfriends birthday and the staff were very accommodating. Couldn't fault the service or the food!
P.
Tasty food but the prices are extortionate in comparison to the portion sizes!
Love that they do vegan all you can eats in the week.
J. H.
Booked BabuJi for a group of friends for a birthday celebration and could not be more impressed. We had one of the set menus and there was more than enough food for everyone and every dish was delicious. One person in the group is coeliac and the restaurant went over and above what I would expect to provide GF food. There is a good range of vegetarian dishes. Most certainly one of the best Indian meals I have had in Australia.
J. M.
Service and food was great. We had pani puri and crumbed mushrooms for entree. Both were delicious. For main we had the butter chicken, lamb stew and eggplant potato curries. Good size portions and the sauce the curries were in had superb flavour. Will return for sure.
C. C.
Amazing Indian food, the meat was delicious and so tender and very fragrant and tasty dishes. Naan and rice were perfect too. One of the best Indians I've had in Australia.
S. A.
Chandar and his team organized my wedding at his venue. Superb ambience and food. The Guests loved the flavor and the service was amazing..I felt at home and every single guest was looked after. Strongly recommend. Thanks chandar 🤙❤️Can’t thank enough
G. K.
Love it. Great service. Impressive food presentation. Great taste. My Ceylonese dance partner just loves the masala tea before eating. Says it's the best in Melb. Unfortunately I don't like milk, it's very strong tea as a black. Love the sauces, especially the green chilli yoghurt one. Hot and yummie. Samosas hand made. The best.
P. R.
Pretty good attempt at contemporary Indian. Food pretty delicious. Service a little strange. Pick your own beer from the fridge a great idea, but needed a little explanation cause I felt strange walking past the dishwasher and partly behind a counter.
V. D.
I don't eat Indian food often and I don't eat much fish but the fish curry at Babu Ji is excellent. The key word is balance. The mustard and coconut were not empowering and there was the right amount of fish and curry whereas other restaurants will have more curry than meat. Although I live on the other side of Melbourne, this is one place I will definitely visit to try other dishes.
S. M.
Food was average as far as authencity. I ordered a fish molle which is a Kerala fish curry dish which did not taste anything like it. They are bit on the pricey side for St.Kilda and their type of Indian restaurant. Service was good, all staff were well trained
P. K.
Great menu, good value and excellent service. I just wish they would decrease the sweetness and crank up the spicy flavours, then they would get one more star from me
n. k.
Keep coming back for our curry fix. The butter chicken, daal are delicious. The staff is always courteous, and smiling.
Good mix of mordern and Indian cuisine. Definitely a must try!
s. v.
I liked the decor, but it can be improved with more lighting. The customer service was great and the food was tasty. However, the portion sizes were very small relative to the price of each item.
C. H.
The food was amazing! Only reason for a 4 star was the cocktails.. tasted like extremely cheap alcohol. However don't let that stop you going for the food!
A. (.
The best Indian in Melbourne. Fantastic flavours with the freshest/good quality ingredients. Yes you pay a bit more but it’s worth it.
H. G.
Had a wonderful time at Babu Ji last night with my family. The staff was helpful and really friendly and the food was sensational. I've had 'indian food' before but this was such a step up I thought I was in heaven! Or at least, in the home of an Indian family. I recommend giving it a try as you'll be wonderfully surprised. Make sure you try the Eggplant and the Dahl; oh, and the goat; and the Tandoori Chicken; and the Salmon; and the fabulous Naan Bread. Wow, just try everything! Cheers to Mani, the new up and coming owner.
U. J.
The best Indian authentic food and the most professional service in Melbourne. Complimentary curry just because naan was late to our table by 5 mins. Recommending this to everyone ❤❤❤
V. M.
A lovely and authentic Indian vegetarian food option in Melbourne. For a pure vegetarian like us, a very tasty and authentic food. Me and my family liked it very much.
s. s.
Went there for lunch, ordered butter chicken and Garlic Naan. The butter chicken was very good but naan seems to be frozen and not freshly made.
M. S.
Great food and the staff always make you feel very welcome. Not your average, tacky, tired suburban Indian takeaway. Casual, great atmosphere and not expensive. I've been loads of times and will keep returning!
M. M.
Nice ambiance. Little overrated as the food wasn’t much spicy as it should be but good to hang out with local people who aren’t used to spicy food.
E. G.
Welcoming service, very observant offering help with the menu, filling water glasses etc, fantastic food, so authentic, and a quaint little interior. Only thing I'd want to see is a drinks menu given to the table on arrival. We're so lucky we stumbled upon this place
P. D.
A hidden gem in st kilda. This place has such a cool vibe. Simple yet creative twist to authentic indian taste. Had a great experience , dine in or takeaway. Conveniently located close to Fitzroy st tramstation
W. F.
Limited menu options compared to other indian restaurants around!! Delicious butter chicken but below average goat curry. Good decor, one time visit
G. R.
Authentic, restrained, contemporary Indian in the heart of St Kilda. Friendly, efficient wait staff. The beer fridge is a winner, with beers from all over the world! An absolute winner - would highly recommend!
S. C.
Loved it!
Just had dinner there again tonight and seriously it is by far THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT ON MELBOURNE! And the cocktails are just as good.
J. V.
Delicious food; funky decor; cool appropriately-ethnic music (Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan); somewhat slow, unsophisticated service (eg no-one offered me a drink; served thali selection without saying what the dishes were; it was quiet, not busy); a little higher-priced than Melburnians are used to for Indian cuisine, but better-quality than cheap Indian and commensurate with restaurants of similar standard.
J. P.
Great ambience, great food and great service. The tandoori chicken is just too good. True to taste. I would definitely recommend.
M. L.
Beautiful food & good choice of alcohol. Not a cheap meal but everything was delicious.
n. g.
I love the food. Easily best indian food in Melbourne and great service. Can get a bit too loud sometimes.
K. K.
One of the best Indian Restaurants in Melbourne, loved it , the food was perfect. They even ask you the level of chilli you need in your food.
T. D.
Possibly the best Indian food in Melbourne. Friendly staff. Interesting decor (check the toilet wallpaper). No hesitation; eat there!!
P. A.
Best fish curry- ever! The flavour is so banging, it’s total elegance. Salute to the chef! 🙌
N. S.
We tried the street foods which were good. Tikki chat was really good while paneer saslik was ok. Little lacking on flavour. Paani puri was outstanding.
S. T.
Average food, everything including curries were sweet
T. D.
Fantastic food, sensational flavours! Service was impeccable! Highly recommend the set menu! Will be telling everyone to go and can't wait to go back myself!
A. S.
Came here for the first time and had the most amazing food in a long 😋😋
Serive was 5 star 💯
Thank u guys so much... Will visit soon 🍻
p. v.
Everyone in family from age 5 to 69 enjoyed the dinner and the evening with Babuji
Papdi chat and yum yum momos
D. L.
Fantastic Takeaway. Drink a beer while you wait... Awesome Value Meal for 2... Great tasting food
K. G.
Quite pricy but good food. We got sweet potato tikki, sarson Palak n naan basket n gulab jamun. The taste was really good of all the items. All types of naan were good.
M. M.
My favourite Indian restaurant. The friendly staff always share their chai while I wait for my take-away. Large servings. Super tasty
J. H.
Wonderful food. A pleasant surprise was when they brought out a dessert for my mother whos' birthday we were celebrating.
C. C.
Food was exquisite, staff were polite, helpful, prompt and personable, lovely place to dine. Food was a little expensive but worth it for the flavour and quality. A real treat.
I. S.
The food is incredible. Everything that we've tried was prepared with so much attention, hearty, with notes of freshness. My compliments for rice.
H. P.
Great food..great service…amazing experience
D. N.
Nice indian food, really liked our food.
I just hope.the staff is a bit more courteous and friendly ...
D. C.
The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Get the Indian nacho influenced dish and the fish curry.
P.
Loved it! The whole family shared a few dishes each! A bit on the pricey side but really nice food! 😊
M. S.
Delicious and great staff.
R. G.
Fantastic Indian restaurant, great range of Northern Indian cuisine and a broad beer selection. One of my favourite restaurants!
S. W.
Friendly staff and awesome service. Had some great tasting curries and the green mango crispy rolls from a distinctive and unique menu.
R. A.
Overpriced as compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. Also had limited items on the Menu. Indian cuisines in Australian style.
M. Z.
Good food and atmosphere at an easy to reach location from the city. The banquets allow you to mix and match to your tastes.
L. M.
Always in here ! Best Indian In Melbourne. Great food great price . Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
M. K.
Great food, great service. Getting the banquet was an excellent choice. Had a great time here and would come back.
P. S.
Food was really good with authentic flavors. Ambiance can be better. Must try Indian restaurant
S. M.
Love this restaurant! Always a great atmosphere and awesome food.
Can't wait to go back!
S. D.
Amazing place. The food is sensational and they have a truly extensive beer selection that you don't often come across in restaurants.
U. A.
The host here are also waiting at the tables. Food esp Naan is a must have. Since I am vegetarian not much option, but whatever available was also gud.
J. W.
Hands down best Indian restaurant in Melbourne. The garlic Naan blew my mind. Must try.
L. A.
Went for the $25 vegan night, great value and even better food. I will definitely be back.
S.
Fantastic, flavoursome Indian food - dine in or takeaway. Prices reflect the quality of the food.
P. T.
Such a fun restaurant. Great location and excellent food. The staff are really friendly.

Best Indian food I've had in a while! Butter chicken and naan to die for!!!

Now this is a top Indian restaurant. Modern take on the look and taste of Indian foods. The staff are attentive and they also have a really well stocked beer fridge that is serve-yourself :) Definitely worth checking out.

Babu Ji aims to bring authentic Indian food to Melbourne, and the dishes on the menu span a range of regions from India’s central and northern regions. There are dishes on the menu that many Australian won’t have heard of, and this is not by chance. Mani wants to show Melburnians that there’s more to Indian food to curry, more to Indian food than heat. It’s about simple, home cooking, traditional dishes and a focus on quality produce and flavour.
