Had this place in my radar for a while but only managed to go earlier this week. It happened to be a Tuesday where they’re having a special deal ($16 for any burger with a can drink), talk about timing! Ordered the El’ Grande which was superb, generous portion of fillings and love the crispy onions rings that came with it. Perhaps the patty can be just a tad more rare and that would be perfect, anyway this is just my preference. Staff is friendly and available wifi tipped the rating from 4.5 to 5 stars. A great place to be.

Great place for burger and coffee. Bumped into this little joint today. Had to wait a little longer but the guy explained that they were short staffed due to COVID. Glad we waited for the food. Had the Hello Bello burger which was one of the best burgers I’ve had for a while. And the coffee was just as good. Friendly staff. I do recommend this cafe and I will definitely visit again.

One of my favourite local cafes! Bamboo Bean has been my go-to ever since moving to the area. Great service and you can't go wrong with their menu. We have an amazing experience every time we go to Bamboo bean! They have an outdoor courtyard to enjoy a meal in on sunny days and the food is incredible. They do the best coffees, gourmet burgers and salads with a great mix of flavours. Perfect place for breakfast, brunch or lunch! Highly recommend.

My goodness gracious... the food here are absolutely delicious!!! A little gem in Malvern, a must go-to cafe for their well curated and cooked brunch meals that makes you wanting to come back to try their other menu. And the staff always makes you feel welcome and home. Not to mention, they serve good coffee too. Thats a win!!

Today we both had burger cravings so took off for a take away burger run to Bamboo Bean in Malvern East. Between us we got a General Tso Chicken burger, Double cheeseburger, both potato and sweet potato fries and a blueberry smoothie (with so much more). The General Tso burger was very much the asian inspiration with a sake and ginger fried chicken, daikon, slaw, sriracha kewpie and a sweet miso sauce. Still with crunch despite the journey. I made my cheeseburger a double and was delighted by the chunky flavour filled patties and generous melty cheese. I am a pickles fan and them combined with that mustard mayo and smokey relish completed the burger. Would have this again in a heart beat. Both the fries on the side were substantial and well seasoned and made it home still hot although perhaps a little less crispy than when they started. Back to that smoothie. We were blown away with the combination of Blueberry, Dragonfruit, orange and ginger. I felt my body being recharged with antioxidants. If burgers ain’t your thing you will be pleasantly surprised by some of the other tasty offerings in their take away menu from brunch favourites to toasties, jaffles and salads

Update 29/08/2021: We ordered lunch packs for our daughter's virtual birthday "party". What an amazing and personalised packaged the team has whipped up! My girl and her little friends were delighted. Thank you for making my daughter happy especially during this difficult period of restrictions!!! The burgers at Bamboo Bean were simply delicious! The kids love the homemade chicken nuggets and chips. We like the fact that the nuggets were not processed meat. The portions were huge for kids. It is definitely good value for money! What a great local burger joint!

Wow the 2nd time visit is definitely a new excitement! The pipeline burger is a must try! Interesting concept with healthier options on burgers! The potato wedges are sensational and you just wanna more! There is a hidden courtyard at the back with live music on Friday! Bonus!

We went there for lunch. The place was empty but the service was so slow. It was also cold as the AC kept blowing cold air. The burgers tasted pretty good but I thought they were a little on the oily side. Looking at the other reviews, it might have just been an off day or to do with whoever was working on the day.

Lovley renovated space with two main indoor eating areas and an outdoor courtyard. Delicous selection of muffins! High chairs available for little ones; also a small box of kids books, crayons and toys to keep little ones amused. Live music program for evening opening times.

Bean meaning to try this place for a while after reading good reviews and checking out the menu i think we are spoilt for choice for good burgers in this area. Glad we tried bamboo bean we ordered 3 burgers 2x vego 1 x el grande beef burger for pick-up. they were all exceptional, really generous size and super tasty and well seasoned I think this is the best burger place in Malvern East (also best Vege option burger combination i have ever tried) also very reasonably priced. I can't wait to try them again and cant wait until hospo re-opens because the dine in menu looks fantastic as well I can tell this place would normally be buzzing. will definitely return hopefully to dine-in not to distant future. also note worthy appreciated the fact how generous the serving of truffle fries were. most places give very small portions hardly enough for one. everyone was super happy with their food. Thanks again guys keep up the good work. support local!

I dropped in here today by chance. Had been out with the family and came to Loafers, which is across the road, to grab some salad rolls. The kids wanted to get home so I knew I couldn't do a further stop into my normal coffee shop so came here. I genuinely think I've just had the best cup of coffee I've ever had in my life. My wife, who gets almond milk in her coffee commented about the quality of her coffee too. Whatever you're doing, keep it up.

Friendly service. I love their homemade gourmet soups. Pricey for the size but incredibly delicious. The coffee here is the dearest I've seen in the area and is vert average tasting. Lovely hip yet homely atmosphere at bamboo bean. Their burgers seem very popular - all the locals rave about them. I've not tried them yet. Come for the friendly vibe and soup. Buy a coffee elsewhere

Coffee was bland. Hot chocolate tasted just like plain milk. Carrot cake was extremely dry like cardboard. Fried chicken and waffles tasted like it came out of a box. At least make your own waffles instead of buying waffles from Coles.

One-off kind of a place ..... That's what we like as Melbournians ...... a converted old house in my old stomping ground, Malvern East, they were just old houses back then, now many interesting foodie joints. A bit of Reggae, hippy, happy, layback, colourful (green predominantly) combined with vintage and travelling global stuff, music was at the right volume, we can converse, thanks guys. YES, lots of bamboos everywhere, hence the name. On the food side, we've ordered four different kind of burgers; 2 beef patty and 2 chicken breast, stick with the beef. Chicken were tough, lightly marinated, not much immersion of those marinades and just didn't gel well. Beef burgers were just right; Modestly Malvern is good and Mexican Mistress is a standout. Guys, easy on the sauce and a bigger Brioche buns please, those buns are flat and tiny, didn't do justice to those patties, weren't attractive and too hard to hold while eating them without making a mess and it slides everywhere. Wedges were magnificent, just easy on the seasoning. Great presentation and good service too.
