Amazing milk tea hot pot! The best enjoy dessert place for sisters after dinner. My no.1 is taro balls and the milk tea also tastes good won’t be too sweet. But in the end I recommend to buy one more tea for take away. That will be more comfortable to the throat.

I was very shocked with the presentation of my mix and match dessert. It’s totally different (nearly unacceptable with this kind of presentation) from the photo menu. However the taste is good and consistently. The store and cutlery are clean. Overall is excellent, taste is good, quality is remained unchanged, sadly only the presentation is very shocked.

I am Taiwanese, I cant say I am an expert of tea but I can tell you that after tried other tea shops in Melbourne that I found black ball has the best value and taste for its products! Yes, it's not like other tea shops has lots of fancy types of drinks(cheese top etc) but this is why they standout from others. We always have our drinks without sugar and this is the way you can tell if the tea is good or not! And I can tell you that this is a GREAT tea shop! If you haven't already, go and try it yourself!

My all time favourite dessert place since 2014. It's Taiwanese!❤️ Their grass jelly is simply the best. Doesn't matter having it hot, warm, cold or with saved ice. Best dessert place in Chinatown! I will keep going back from time to time and definitely recommend everyone to give it a try.

A nice place to try Taiwanese bubble tea and desserts. I was quite surprised, puzzled at the dessert selections they have in Asian countries. Unlike the ice cream and other sugary desserts, these ones seemed very healthy and very less sugary. You can always choose the level of Ice and Sugar from the options displayed in front. I am no expert in Asian desserts and I would love to know more. For writing this review, I have done some research and the studies amazed me. The Taro, Grass Jelly (made from the Chinese mesona), Sweet Potato ball and of course my favorite Black Pearls. I and my friend reached this place 30 minutes before closing and we had a dessert and bubble tea. Unfortunately, they were running out of Black Pearls and I was pretty sad about it. Wish they have stocked more. The store ambiance is quite good and the staff (mainly Taiwanese) were quite friendly and happy to help me through the menu. There are enough seating options if you planning to visit with a group of friends. This place can be accessed both from the china town and the Bourke St. Would love to explore more of their delicious products.

Have visited blackball many times over the past few years and really enjoy their desserts. The new milk tea hotpot is a great idea and perfect for the colder months. The service varies depending on the person but the owner is very friendly.

Great place to get your dessert fix, especially if you're into the Taiwanese style desserts. The waffles are soft and freshly made which is excellent. The toppings for their dessert are also great, especially the mini black sesame balls.

I have tried different shaved iced dessert around Australia and Asia. What differentiate Blackball from others is the intense coldness of its shaved ice. It is not as fine or as powdery soft as others, but there is a lot of it and on a hot Melbourne summer day, nothing beats its chilling cool effect.

Reasonably priced Asian style dessert: grass jelly with various toppings, bubble tea drinks and waffles with toppings. You need to order from the counter even if you are dining in. There is no table service and please expect average customer service.

omg i was not expecting to like their bubble tea as their menu didn’t really stand out to me, i got the green milk tea with pearls and 50% sugar. wow it was so delicious and came with so many pearls inside compared to most bubble tea places. it was only $7 and fairly large sized. Definitely a new favourite i’m gonna start going to more.

Black Ball in Chinatown in Melbourne is as good as the original one from Taiwan. I always order glass jelly with fresh milk or Glass Jelly Icy set. The tarot balls are really good as well. I was never disappointed with this shop. The other good thing is it’s opened until late in China town. A very convenient location.

Build your own dessert! Grass jelly + Coco jelly + Icecream is awesome. The Milk tea is pretty average. We usually go here for the dessert build, otherwise there are other places that do better bubble tea. This place is pretty chill, a cool hang out place in China town. Don't really expect much from service, sort of like a fast food style dessert place.

I usually like the desserts at Blackball. But this time we tried the Milk Tea “HotPot”, but it wasn’t even hot. We were looking forward to a hot milk tea dessert but instead it was lukewarm to cold. Disappointed ! The advertising photo made it look hot and steamy. sad.

Out of all of the Taiwanese dessert places, BlackBall is definitely our favourite. The drinks and desserts are well priced and are consistently made. There's a huge variety of drinks and desserts to choose from and countless options for customisation. Only wished that the loyalty card didn't expire within a month of receiving it.
