Comments of Brunetti Oro Flinders Lane

Love Brunetti for coffee and cake!
Staff were excellent, doing well in this current climate of Covid and staff shortages.
Sat outside in the enclosed area, good place to chill and watch the World go by.
The cake was absolutely delicious! Raspberry, with chocolate mousse inside-highly recommend.
Coffee and hot chocolate went down a treat!
S.
Wish there were more stars I could give them rather than just '5 stars', and this place is THAT NICE.
Highly recommendable.
If needed to find any demerit, this could be too popular, therefore, many people, crowded. This wouldn't be helpful at this specific circumstance, Covid-19.
But it was just SO good. I will be there whenever I can to try all different type of cakes, ice creams, pizzas and pasta!
J. L.
Yummy as always. And you will find everything to feed you. I mean there's all kind of pastry, even birthday size cake, variety of beverages from non to alcoholic ones.
Also got their own pizzeria and a kitchen for lunch time.
So definitely recommended to go and bring someone to show this nice and cosy Brunetti shop🤗🤗😋😋🥲

They do takeouts during lockdown and the customer service is quite pleasant. Only weird thing is that I asked to use the restroom after paying and they said they had no toilets but also were unable to direct me to any toilets nearby. Ended up in another restaurant who let me use their restroom without even needing me to pay for anything (of course I did grab something as thanks). Beautiful place though, very glamorous. Cake was very tasty as well. Very wide selection of sweets.

A lovely place with wonderful food and drinks. The arincini is Lovley and same goes with the avacoda and eggs on toast. The only short comming for this place is how you order, with you having to come up to order instead of being able to have a waiter come and take my order, I only point this out as I would consider this place to be somewhat fancy. But non the less wonderful food which is all that really matters at the end of the day.
A. H.
Great classic Italian cafe on Flinders Lane. They serve cakes, coffee, juices, pizza and a range of other things. A bit pricey, but in my opinion worth it for the quality provided. Staff also very friendly and helpful!
m. c.
Spectacular interior design, definitely an upper class experience I only wish table service was available instead of a order at the bar set up. The sweets section looked fantastic but I was so full I will have to come back to try it another time. My mocha with a caramel was still too strong for my taste.
C. C.
Gorgeous environment and great taste. Wide variety of food and marvelous presentation.

My favourite coffee shop in Melbourne. I'm there most days catching up with friends and clients. Great staff and it's open right through the day unlike other places that close by 3pm. Only downside is my usual Green Tea is pricey. But plenty to off-set that. Highly recommended.
S. C.
Nice place but you can only order food from some counters and drinks from others. Also not the most family friendly. There were no high chairs available and no kids options on the menu. Coffee and food were great though.
A. A.
The best cakes in Melbourne can be found here. Not only stunning to look at but so delicious too. I love all of their chocolate numbers. The rows of fridges filled with their gorgeous cakes are a sight to behold. And I love that they have tiny bite sized servings too so you can try a little bit of everything. The coffee isn't great and it can get crazy busy so you might have to wait a while to get served. But definitely come for the cakes!
M.
Another favourite of mine! Although the Carlton location is my go to whenever I’m down from Sydney but my gosh Brunetti as a whole does not disappoint! Beautiful atmosphere, huge food selection, as busy as it may be it still remains quite a relaxing environment! Wish there was one here in Sydney! Highly recommend on every aspect. Cakes and sweets are so good I always bring some home for my family to enjoy!

One of the larger and well-designed branches, Brunetti Oro Flinders Lane offers a large variety of aesthetic cakes and desserts with great seating and friendly staff.

So clean, a little fancy (desserts are served on gold coloured plates), love how the employees are dressed so well and professional, the decor is beautiful. Take note of the display fridge with the cheeses and smoked meats. All the deserts are delicious (I've tried most of them) so proud to have brunetti's as part of Melbourne oh of course the coffee is very very good.

Great place to get cakes and dessert. Ordered the Lemon Meringue Tart and Brunetti Oro Rocher for home delivery. Delivery was a flat rate of $20 for where I live, which is not cheap, but I thought it was worth it to not have to make a return trip to the city, find parking, pay for parking, etc (plus, petrol is almost $2/L at the moment!). The tart was delicious, and my favourite of the two. It was perfectly balanced between the sweetness and the tartness. The Rocher was good too, not as sweet as you would expect (which I think is a good thing) but it wasn't "Rocher" enough; a bit more actual chocolate and chopped hazelnuts would help. Not sure how these compare to the Brunetti Classico versions, but they look pretty similar.

This place is an actual Melbourne legend-for a damn good reason- enough said. If you haven’t tried Brunetti or you are new to Melbourne, I’m begging you to go. I dream about this place every time I want coffee or cake.. which is all the time.
M.
We found this place for lunch and it took us by surprise and we absolutely loved it. From the outside you don’t know what to expect and then you walk in and it has a wow factor. The service was excellent, the food was great and the coffee was good !! We simply had sandwiches and pizza and felt very satisfied.
D. M.
Adorned with the original tables from the Carlton store, the Flinders Lane store is buzzing! As always, a huge selection of delicious cakes, pastries and biscuits in a classy, vibrant venue. Try to score a table at the front for a perfect vantage point for people watching over a glass of wine
L. C.
This is literally a dessert palace! This needs many many visits to cover trying all the amazing looking cakes. It is actually hard to choose from as they all look fabulous. We tried the eclairs and the strawberry tart and also took home some biscotti... I think I left just before having a sugar overload. The place is buzzing and quite busy but it is part of what it is. It actually takes me back to Italy and how the sweet places are run over there. Ahh not to mention there is also savory - the pizzas are yummy too. Just delicious!
S. H.
Loved that they had mini size of many cakes for tasting and for people that are more health conscious like me.
Loved the latte art they did on my hot chocolate.
Loved the location and vibe.
C. L.
Had many amazing choices. The cakes were delicious and plenty of tables, perfect place to have a quick coffee and nice dessert
K. T.
Wonderful cake and delicious coffee. This is a lovely spot for a table by the laneway, to part take in some people watching with a long black or a flat white. Great for take away too.

I have mixed feelings about Brunetti Flinders Lane. While I like the modern sleek style, I think that the setup they have in their other shop in Carlton is more authentic and makes me feel like in am in Italy, while this one doesn't. We came here for lunch at 1:30 pm last Tuesday and discovered that almost everything we wanted to order on the menu was sold out (at 1:30 pm!), furthermore, there was a posted 40 minutes wait for the food, which we didn't mind because we ordered aperol spritz as an aperitivo to have before. In the end we had to wait almost 1 hour and a half to get our food, luckily it was good so it was worth the wait. Staff was very apologetic and went above and beyond to make up for the wait, nevertheless, I can't give more than 3 stars.
D.
Wall to wall stocked with delicious pastry, cakes, tarts, pizza, everything I love and more. Great coffee, quick service too given how crowded Brunetti can get. So hard to chose when everything here is so good.
A.
Amazing Ambience and great staff. It is a tad busy all the time , that's because of the quality it offers.
Staff are also very good . Not your average coffee shop with top of the range cakes pattiseries and meals .
I wanted a cake for gluten intolerant. While not glueten free it served my purpose and was a great birthday cake 🎂 thanks brunetti
D. L.
A iconic dessert spot in Melbourne that doesn’t disappoint. I had the apple strudel with ice cream which was nicely heated and tasty. The vibe and atmosphere is lively and exciting. The birthday cakes are also really popular, would definitely recommend a visit.
J. K.
Brunetti is such a lovely Melbourne institution and tradition! I try to come here every time I visit! This Flinders Lane branch is beautiful and seems to run quite smoothly considering how busy it is. Friendly efficient service and delicious treats! They've done a great job at maintaining quality over the years, rather than becoming a drab chain store!
R. R.
A bit hectic in the morning with a lively atmosphere which adds to the charm of this place. However, it’s also important that liveliness is distinct from disorder, and so the hectic nature of Brunetti in the morning may be attributed to its popularity but I feel like the layout of the waiting area for takeaway coffee can be cleaned up and seating areas in the morning can be more organised.
The quality of the coffee is top notch as always, and the food is of high standard, just as one would expect from drinking or dining at Brunetti.
A. L.
This place is excellent. I would definitely come back. I liked the facilities and multiple food options (sweets, sandwiches, pizza, etc). Quality of the food and coffee were excellent.
J. B.
Great coffee and ambience. Disappointed with the need to collect ur own coffee as it means u can’t sit down and relax after ordering. Also toast was surprisingly poor quality. Also staff not well trained. Could be a Covid thing
M. Y.
The gigantic dessert bar from Lygon St has now been reimaged here in the inner city, with the same menu being stretched out along the vast interior.
Even with the sheer variety, it's the third choice after Le Petit and Beatrix.
The "Con Amore" is easily one of the better options.
S. T.
The name 'Brunetti' is synonymous with Melbourne's pastry, coffee, cake and sweet delights scene, with its main store in Carlton, another in a shopping centre, and now this one in Flinders Lane.
It is deceivingly small from the outside but extends once you enter. The open space is perfect for social distancing. The small external area is ideal for sitting and watching the world go by while eating breakfast or enjoying a coffee and cake.
Inside, you will be pleasantly overwhelmed with the number of sweet delights on display to eat in or take away [there is also online ordering for pickup/delivery]. They have other options on their menu, including savoury.
Some suggestions:
Breakfast - smoked salmon with asparagus, poached eggs and pea puree on sourdough bread. OR an avocado, salmon, cheese panini - accompanied by long black or ice coffee.
Sweets - gingerbread, crescents, cookies and cream cheesecake, NY cheesecake slice, cannolis, and boxed eclairs/mignons/ready-made cakes.
Gifts - try their wine selection, keep cups and coffee beans [whole or ground]. Christmas and Easter are special at Brunetti's - be sure to check out their gingerbread houses, chocolate eggs and other sweet assortments.
If possible, I would eat there every day, but I would end up looking as big as a house! For me, Brunetti's is a treat or a catch-up venue with friends.
Brunetti's Flinders Lane is a hidden gem and worth finding when in Melbourne.

Love the pastries and cakes! They’re a match for coffee or hot chocolate.

Why didn’t I know about this place before tonight?
Huge place and equally huge selection of food and the mist amazing tempting sweets
We had pizza and it was terrific. Being able to choose pieces rather than being stuck with a whole pizza was awesome
As for sweets well where does one start and even try to stop
Enjoy a chilled drink with friends after work or a family Occassion or dinner for one or two!
It simply works! Huge open space means there is plenty of light and air about this cool funky place.
S. K.
Amazing place to have your sweet tooth satisfied. They have a whole range of cakes and biscuits. Also they serve lunch and sandwiches. Best part is rhe freshly roasted coffee and drinks.
P. L.
This was a great place for a late night dessert and coffee. We were recommended by the concierge at the hotel who was local and said this was his favourite place.
They offer an amazing selection of cakes and ice cream, a perfect way to end the evening.
We went back on the Sunday for round #2 but unfortunately they had closed early.
Next time we are in Melbourne we will definitely be going back, highly recommended.
M. K.
Great cakes and coffee. Reasonably priced considering rhe products.
B. U.
We were expecting quite a bit from this place due to recommendations and the pasta and desserts definitely hit the mark.
After grabbing a table we had to get menus ourselves and order at the counter. They had plenty of pizza and pasta options and fairly well priced, around the low to mid 20 mark. If you ordered drinks you had to pick them up from the bar. The food was delivered to your number, which you got after ordering.
I really liked their pasta. Flavourful and fresh. It had a nice texture and simply delicious. We also had an antipasto platter and I found most of it quite salty, including the garlic bread.
There were so many dessert options available, from cakes to pastries to ice cream. I grabbed a promesse d'amore and that was amazing. Crisp pastry enclosing a thick and delicious custard cream. I probably would have been happy with multiple desserts instead of a main.
It is a really good spot for a meal or snack. I think it would be even better if it had table service.
A. K.
Happened to be there as a last resort after all cake shops closed in the Melbourne CBD. Brunetti is now my first and last choice now for cakes. Just cannot pick anyone above this.
Picked up a Black Forrest cake and it was lovely like anything. Celebrated our anniversary very well 🙂
Was baffled by the varieties on display and that is has a full size cafe inside. The best part is you don't have to look at proces to make a choice. Prices are by 6, 8 or 10 serves as size - pick any flavour.
And yeah, don't judge a book by its cover - the narrow Flinders Lane doesn't define the magnanimity of Brunetti.
Highly recommended.
S. N.
This place is always crowded. The spaces between tables are very narrow you can catch 100% conversation of neighbouring tables. The lady shouting order numbers was very noisy. In nushell, good coffee, great food selection but terrible environment, unless noisy market kind of environment is your thing.
F. Q.
I’ve been here a couple of times for their dessert menu, plenty of yummy cakes and ice cream flavors *as you can see from my pics below 😝*
I’ve also tried their hot chocolates. Not a fan because they are really bitter, but if you enjoy bitter hot chocolates then it’s for you!
C. C. R.
A very nice cafe/restaurants in the middle of the city. This eatery is huge, spacious, plenty of seats, clean, and well decorated.
Cake selections are plenty, the coffee is not bad as well as the service. It is so crowded even on the weekdays, prepare for a long line on the weekend I suppose.
J. N.
Stylish, light, open plan design with areas of specialty, eg pizza, pasticceria, bar at the back, called Meet Me in Milan and so forth. The patrons and6 wait-staff provide the buzz that is inviting.
Spinach and ricotta ravioli with sage and butter was light and delicious, ideal for a summer's day.
A. A.
Great place for a treat after a long day of shopping. They have a huge selections of yummy cakes and desserts. Service was very quick, and staff were so friendly.
If you have a sweet tooth, this your dessert heaven.
A.
Great place to have cakes and coffee with Friends!

I was pleasantly surprised as I do love going to small intimate cafes for my caffeine fix, however Brunetti surprised me. The place is huge yet very cool from the interesting and grand entrance right through to the back Aperol cocktail bar. The coffee is good, the choices of cakes and snacks is huge and the service is quick - even when busy. It was a great place to meet an old friend enjoy a long chat and several coffees. Certainly worth a visit - I know I will be back.
S. R.
For all the raving about Melbourne's coffee I was a little disappointed with brunetti. Reason being is my coffee was like warm. However, I discovered the problem. If you order something together like a cocktail and coffee at the same time they have made the coffee first whilst awaiting to finish the cocktail. My advice order only coffee at one time and alcoholic drinks at another. The cake and party selection are devine. On a public holiday they were a little busy and seemed understaffed.
A. C.
Presentation was great and the selection was amazing. However the desserts just didn't impress like others I've had. Everything was very similiar with nothing really standing out.
K. L.
We ordered a pizza and two pastas for mains. The pizza was really floppy and all the toppings fell off when we tried to lift it up. It ended up just being like eating flatbread with tomato sauce on it. The pastas were okay. The gnocchi was pretty soft and dense. The carbonara was nice.
We got three desserts. They were really good and reasonable prices. There were so many desserts to choose from. A delicious end to a mediocre main. The croquembouche had like a whole tablespoon of large raw sugar crystals on top which was way too much and we scraped it off.
The restaurant itself is designed like a food court. You have to walk all over the place to order different dishes. We had to keep walking to the centre of the restaurant to get each glass of water individually.
S. T.
Stumbled across this place on a cold wintery night.
This place is heaven. So many cakes and pastries to try. Perfect place for a sweet tooth.
Fridges meters tall of cakes on display!
Even though it was full, the noise level was not too overwhelming. Plenty of space to sit and it's family friendly.
f. r.
Amazing food in a nice cafeteria style space. Coffees are as good as anywhere in Melbourne, baguettes are incredible and pasties are to die for. Service is okay, but not great. Most annoying is having to order at different counters for different things. I had to wait in line three times to get a coffee, cake and baguette.
J. S.
When a little pleasure comes in the form of an amazing Tiramisu, then I wouldn't mind coming back for more!
Brunetti is one of the best places to go to for pastries, coffee & desserts.. And that's why it is always packed.
Brace yourself, and be patient when you come... But believe me, it's all worth it!
S. R.
Delicious desserts and can't get enough of it to be honest! Black Forest, Chocolate Mousse, Tiramisu and Brunetti Rocher are capable of giving a glimpse of what possibly is heaven after life! 🤪
K. L.
Great place with open concept dining which is definitely welcomed. Food is average but price is on the higher side. Cake standard has dropped even though they still look fancy. I welcome the small portion of the desserts which means we check share more of everything. Staff there were extremely helpful and pleasant.
R. D.
I highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to spend the best time. I have recently visited there and felt amazing. It is located in a very good place in the town. You can reach out to this place very easily. Coming to food and interior, then I must say their food is completely worth spending on and the interior there will give you bliss. They made my day by serving good food. Thanks, guys. I highly appreciate your hard work.
S. C.
My go to dessert cafe in the city. You can't go wrong here, all the cakes so far are quite nice.
b. t.
One of the best coffee places in Melbourne CBD especially if you are into good coffee and sweets. Actually any kinds of pastry from small and large cakes, biscuits, croissant, pizza, desserts and....
Although the business started back in 1985 and transformed it in 1991, this shop is fairly new and became very popular due to it’s prime location in Melbourne CBD.
Very kind and welcoming staff.
It’s strongly recommended.
A. A. D.
Very nice cafe and one of my best in Melbourne!!, However,I would rather to order coffee and dessert but not food as it’s below average and expensive at the same time.
1. Coffee and hot drinks are really good
2. Desserts are incredibly awesome!! They have got lots of dessert options which is really nice!
3. Seating area are available both indoor and outdoor which is cool!
H. W.
Great atmosphere- huge variety of desserts that all tasted delicious; coffee was good, and didn't take long to make. They also have food options (e.g., pizza); the waiting process was structured with people taking tickets and waiting their turn. Great place to hang out anytime of the day.
J.
Great atmosphere love it here, the desserts almost tasted as delicious as they looked and the staff very friendly. The price was fairly reasonable too.
R. Z.
This is full on bustling and desert is perfect. A bit let down with the arancini tho, it tasted frozen and reheated
S. Q.
The coffee and the food are amazing!! Best arancini ever, I pretty much tried all flavors by now lol 5 stars here is really because the food earned, plus is a nice big place with plenty of seats, but the service is way too complicated! You have to order in the counter, which if fine, but then you have to wait for drinks, which can take long time with you just standing there waiting, then the food comes after at the table. The food might arrive first at table before coffee is ready at the counter, annoying. The staff are always friendly, it's just the system they have that is non practical.
k.
Breads and pastries were yum! I had a perception that foods are pricey but I was surprise that it was affordable. I was just a bit disappointed that the hot chocolate was served messy on the side of the cup.
Went for the second time and this time it was perfect. We had a macaroons take away! It was sooooo yum!❤️
E. K.
Nice place to kick back, sip coffee and enjoy Italian desserts. This brunetti recently moved to a new location due to the subway work done by the government. Boy oh boy it's massive compared to the previous spot. They also serve pizza and pasta now in addition to the normal coffee and desserts. The dessert is still pretty good same as before. We ordered lasganette, the sauces is okay but portion is really small for $24.
A. M.
A large, restaurant-like cafe that has some very nice coffee and food. It is quite busy, so at times it is hard for the waiting staff to keep up, but they compensate for this quite well by having people pick up their own coffee. Overall, I really enjoyed the place, the hardest part about going here is finding a seat (which speaks for it's popularity)
M. A.
If you appreciate the finer things in life, then Brunetti is the place for you. A wide variety of baked delights to choose from, as well as a full espresso bar and beautifully and clean dining area as well. Will be back.
F. P.
I went really early (6.50 am) on a weekday and there's already a small queue for coffee. This place prob need an extra staff in the drink area as there were a few times when the coffee making person was left by herself and noone taking orders from waiting customers.
That aside, the place is quite spacious (lots of seat at the back) and as many have mentioned, has lots of variety of sweets (cakes, macarons, chocolate). They also have a section for alcohol drinks it seems.
I didn't try any of the sweets, just coffee and a roll with salmon. You need to go to counter to order and, if you're eating in, they'll deliver it to your table. Coffee was good and food is average.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
A. _.
The whole cafe is really nicely set up, I mean it really wows once you walk in, theres like a coffee roaster on one side then a large wood furnace on the other. The aesthetic is just great.
On the other hand, their famous cakes are not quite
The cheesecake isnt poorly made, its just really basic. The cheese part is dense which is nice, but tje biscuit base lacks crunch, which i suppose is from the large amount of time the cakes have been left in the fridge. i do aprreciate the small size of the cake though, its great for people with less of a sweet tooth like me.
The main problem is the overwhelming options which are great in terms of variety, but they just cant get one simple thing to be amazing. I doubt the freshness of their baked goods and sweets, maybe their ice cream would have been more palatable.
I guess its just their style to serve everything under the sun.
Worth a try, especiallly for the ambiance, but to be a regular because of their tastes is another story.
J. A.
Kind and fast service, tasty food and just the right price... Super family friendly space, right music volume... The perfect place for a brunch in a hectic week
P. N.
Awesome atmosphere and decor. Really well decorated, lined with heaps of delicious looking desserts.
The hot chocolate is quite tasty and the desserts are very good as well. The profiteroles are recommended.
Can get very busy so can take a bit of searching and time to find somewhere to sit.
L. A.
Wide varieties of cakes and pastries available for selection. Spacious and clean. However we came here as recommended by a friend and for the coffee. We liked what we ordered but nothing outstanding. Very ordinary and the flavor was flat.
J. E. (.
The deserts look and tasted divine! I always enjoy a sweet treat at Brunetti however I dropped a star because I ordered a hot chocolate as well and it came out lukewarm and it tasted very bitter, I was really disappointed in that. Otherwise it’s an amazing place with amazing food that I definitely recommend coming here.
R. H.
Amazing Italian cafe brand that originated from and has a long history in Melbourne. You can experience a great variety of Italian cuisine including cakes, coffee, pizzas, pastas and more. The place is massive and worth a look around.
R.
A real Italian experience at Brunetti. It was Easter Sunday and this place was busy. I had the millefogli and a flatwhite coffee. My wife had the pistachio cannolli and she said it didn't taste greasy. In other words, yummy! A must place to go when visiting Melbourne.
D. F.
Very beautiful location. Huge and modern Italian place, with many different kinds of pastry. It offers also happy hour for a spritz at 10$. Great selection of cakes! However, not everything beautiful is 100 % excellent.
M. L.
Pleasant atmosphere with lots of food and drink choices. Only had coffees this time but will return for a meal another time.
N. M.
The staff is very friendly and the service is outstanding! The coffee and deserts are so delicious! I really liked the design of the cafe and I want to come back here again😊 Highly recommend this cafe!
r. q.
Try the pizza. The dough is spectacular. Sometimes the topping vary and usually great however there is one chef that drowns it in cheese (still ok but not as good)
M. C.
A truly wide selection of reasonably priced Italian pastries in a wonderful location.
L. S.
The attention to detail by the barristers of Flinders Lane Brunettis is amazing. Always a great coffee, made even better by some fabulous coffee art.
Whether you drop in for a chat with a friend or treat yourself when you're in the city, it's always a great atmosphere and worth the visit.
X. P.
Great place for a coffee and a delicious sweet treat. Has an incredible range of cakes, desserts and ice cream that look amazing and taste even better. Open late so a great option if you are up for a late dessert after a night out in the city.
Also includes a bar if you are up for a cheeky Aperol
S.
I rarely write a review, but I was so impressed by your staff today. I was served by Priya today! She was the best staff I've ever met here! She helped me to preorder cake today :) She was so lovely and cheerful! 😊 She made my day! 🤍 You should keep her 👍🏻
J. T.
Food, beverages very good. system of food collection nit so good. Should have a buzzer system speople get notified immediately about collection
A. L.
Good food and atmosphere, one of those places you need to visit if you're only in Melbourne for a short stay.
a. s.
I love the sweets and cakes. They are so fresh and delicious. Coffee is great as well. I love Brunetti in Flinders Lane street.
A. P.
This is our go to place for afternoon treat in cbd during weekend. The coffee always good, strong and roasty but none of those bitter / sour after-taste. Their cakes are marvelous, they have the normal size and mini size that suits your appetite. The rum baba, however, is definitely worth every penny! It's soft, spongy, moist, with the right amount of sweetness - best enjoy during gloomy weather with a sprinkle of shower 😘
G. D.
This is the place to go when you want to impress that certain someone or just treat yourself. The entrance is filled with temptation in the windows, and inside you have a wide assortment of cakes and baked sweets.
The middle is dedicated drinks area, then further on is the savoury food section, with a wine bar hidden at the rear.
The staff are so attentive and lovely, and the food is amazing.
We tried the Arancino ricotta e spinachi, which was delicious. Next were the cakes, the New York Cheese Cake and an Apple strudel with cream along with some coffees.
Well worth checking out!

Love it's coffee and cheese cake
T. R.
Beautiful cakes and delicious food this place is far too tempting. If you're looking for a fantastic cake for a special celebration this is the place to go. A large bustling dining area including a nice outdoor area at the front where you can see what's happening in Flinders Lane while you enjoy your coffee. This is a great place to bring friends visiting Melbourne to give them a taste of the best baking and coffee in the city.
P. S.
Expansive Italian confectionery in the heart of the city open conveniently for your late night cravings. Might have a long wait at the coffee bar but you can drink in the exhibited factory-style coffee machinery. Lots of cakes, sweets, bread and regular food.
S. L.
First time here, it is very spacious and they have so many seats available. This place is bigger than I expected. Delicious food, friendly staff, great vibe.
M. P. P.
Truly an accessible place that has the vibe of a high class cafe with fairly reasonable selections. Best Italian spot we found in Melbourne so far
A. S.
Ive been here many times to bring friends, family or relatives. One thing best about this place except the cake was the staffs. Their staffs was so friendly and responses.
T. Y.
Some of the best -IF NOT THE BEST!- food in Melbourne. Went about 3 or 4 times in total. Too many great items to list, but here goes- Breakfast: granola is dee-lish, as are the several Croissant options; Brunch- Eggs/Avocado/Hollandiase options are yum; as is Pizza. RECOMMEND!
A. E.
Great wood fire pizza. Prices are expected ~$20 for a margarita pizza. Service is always great but Brunettis can get very busy!
N. R.
Being new to Melbourne I was suggested to visit and I really love it! You guys have a great variety of traditional Italian dessert and they taste amazing! Ciao
A. C.
Amazing local staple for coffee/tea and pastries! The array of sweet cakes and biscuits to choose from was astonishing. There’s always a crowd, which adds to the amazing atmosphere; just be sure to find a table quick during a Friday night.
F.
Excellent experience. Great Campari Spritz and Negroni. Can have pizza, panini, and cake
장.
The gelato and long black here are great.
You can try many pieces of cake, and the staff is also friendly.
But the Internet is not working well.
K.
Trendy city coffee bar
Came across this on a visit to Melbourne. Suits young trendy crowd but all walks of life are not out of place. We ordered choc milkshake and a latte. The shakes are sweet and the coffee is Italian strong. We paid $13 Aud/£8 GB. About usual in Oz but expensive for Brits. Surroundings was clean trendy and noise levels full of hustle and bustle but not deafening.
N. G.
Amazing cake we received today. Probably one of the best I have ever had. Small delay on delivery but 10/10 on the cake.
R. G.
If you are after an European experience this is the place to go. Starting from coffee to dinner you can't say anything bad about it. Well done
A. S.
Cakes heaven! Coffee was really good and the atmosphere was great. The lady at patisserie section was so lovely. The food can be improved though.
A. L.
The place has a very welcoming atmosphere and is generally quite busy (even at 10pm). The desserts are well presented and alright tasting, if you enjoy sweets then you may have a better experience.
C. R. D.
Extremely rich and flavourful desserts. Will always recommend their Francese cake, which is out of this world.
A. H.
Melbourne's top dessert&coffee place for sure. I visit Brunetti since I moved to Melbourne when I crave decent sweets. I came by inside of myer one, calton and this location. It was better on Swanson street outside to sit down and enjoy. But Flinders lane is also better for location.
E. c.
Coffee and deserts are simply delicious. Would definitely go again. I loved the ambiance and the experience in general left me with some very positive emotions. I want to go back and try some of their food as well as those pizzas looked delicious!
M. V. V. K.
Great stop for dessert and coffee. If you are sweet fun this is your place. I try the coffee Vienna and I think it was to strong, small, I didn't like it... But desserts were great.
C. L.
Great cafe which looks almost like a restaurant but is a cafe. Coffee is always good, cakes to die for and great pasta. Worth a try and great seating options around the venue.
B. S.
A very nice Italian desser place. They are ooen till late so you can come over here after the dinner of your choosing and have a nice piece of cake, cannoli, cheese cake or something different from a large selection of dsserts. The place is quite spacious and offers different types of tables where you can sit as a pair but also in a large group. Cake display is quite impressive. We had cannoli and cheese cake, both delicious. The coffe is really nice to!
D. P.
Great selection of affordable cocktails and the cakes are all tasty and pretty. Great vibe and wish Brunettis existed in Sydney so I could visit more often. The perfect place for an afternoon tea catch up with friends or family
L. Y. X.
happy they came here again before everything back to square one. still the delicious Royal Chocolate , no doubt.
C. C.
The best place in Melbourne’s CBD for an Italian coffee and dessert open until 11pm. Also includes a Pizzeria, bakery and ice cream stall. The place opens up inside with loads of seating from the barista bar, long tables on the side or the outdoor terrace. Renowned Italian institution popular with locals and tourists. Their main branch is located off Lygon Street (Little Italy).
W. L. M. W.
Very tasty food and lots of great selection (including Cornetti). A lovely vibe, I might say my favorite during my stay in Melbourne! Open and light with little cute birds fluttering around! The hot chocolate was not as nice as other places but the sandwich was tasty (a bit too much rocket for my liking but phenomenal bread). Strongly recommend for a morning coffee
E. B.
Well designed Space for groups or individual catch up for coffee, sweets , lunch or dinner . Service was great . 2018
Beautiful pastries & desserts! 2019
E. K.
Most beautiful dessert I've ever eaten... and it tasted amazing too.
N. A.
As always high-quality service and food😍 just scan QR code at the entrance and type your name and phone number
P. N.
Yummy cakes and good location in Melbourne CBD, I went to this place on Tuesday night but it was so busy, I think management need to put more staffs, I have to wait for so long to order the cakes and the table were full, After customers left no one clean the table for us but I understand that because not enough staffs in this place. Anyway, I did very enjoy the cakes here.
T. G.
Looks very good and very famous but noting special. Their coffees are cold and the tests are not very special.I don’t recommend If you are tourists and don’t have time.
J. S.
Brunetti stays pretty close to its European pedigree with the Flinders Lane cafeteria. Espresso is good, gelateria is solid, cakes are sweet and diverse, bakery is servicable and the service is formally casual.
J. Y.
It’s alway so crowded, but, It’s also always good to get some coffee. Recently I tried to have pizza here and It was great. Just one thing I don’t like is waiting time. Sometimes it takes too long. Lovely place. I’ll be there again soon. ☕️🍰🍕
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
C. S.
An entire food hall dedicated entirely to Italian cuisine. From entrees over pizzas to delicious deserts all to be accompanied by wine or coffees of all sorts. The downlights across the hall are creating a surprisingly cozy atmosphere so this place is way more than just a fast food place for breakfast or lunch. Not surprising that this place is buzzing until late in the evening. Molto delicioso!
J. T.
Always happy to get a coffee with a biscuit for free!
Recommend the lemon brulee tart and a cheese cake! Cannoli good too!
J. &. F. K.
Beautiful place with lots of sweeties to try out. We still prefer the original Brunetti at Carlton which is more lively and has more personality. However, if you are in CBD this is a great place for a quick snack. The service is spotless with waiters cleaning the tables frequently — an important feature in a place with fewer sitting places than than the demand. The sweeties are the pure Brunetti style: diversity, taste and surprise. The ice creams are great and the pizzas are worthy their cost.
S. L.
Great spot to go for coffee and cake. But very unhappy about the order system for the cake. I went on sat night it was so busy had to wait so long time to order cake, I was in the queue but see people just jumping to the front ordered and the staff didn’t know or care who come first it was annoying
R. A.
Good vibe and great food. Not 5 starts because the pizza dough was tougher than bones but it's okay

When I'm craving thick chocolatey gelato, Brunetti's bacio gelato gets the job done! Rich but not too sweet - overall very addicting. Looking forward to heading back next time!
R. Y.
Last time i came here with my family and customer service was extremely poor especially in barista section (They were so unkind so that it made me feel leaving here). But this time, a staff who is named "Nikita" in cake section was so perfectly nice and friendly to us it even makes cakes taste nicer. We definitely enjoyed this time because of "Nikita" and i will absolutely bring my friends here on the future.
L. F.
This new location is full off a wide variety of beautiful decadent desserts and savoury treats no matter your preference or dietary needs there should be something for everyone. This city location is well designed and caters for all group sizes and there is seating not just inside but also outside.
J.
Great quality mini cakes.
Delicious gluten free macarons.
Will def order again.
10/10
B. M. 馬.
This is a famous food venue in Melbourne; love this new location, atmosphere and style; a must visit when in Melbourne.
P. H.
I absolutely adore the sweets here and they also surprisingly make a good chai latte 😍 but the sweets are amazingly done ...with an elegant touch 🎂 🥮 🍰 ❤
J. N.
Its a dessert wonderland. So many cakes & desserts are available at very affordable price. I minused one star cuz the staff at the cake desk needs to be more attentive to the customer.
F. M.
Stopped in for a late brunch. Was pretty busy so they had a pause on breakfast orders. Ordered some food from the lunch area. The arancini ball was delicious. Beautiful looking venue, lots of options. Perhaps need more staff to deal with busy days.
S. C.
The "meal" was ok and too expensive. Arancino ball.
Noisy outdoor metal chairs & right on a noisy back lane thoroughfare.
S. H.
One of the yummiest places in the CBD... One of the reasons why I can't lose weight...go there and enjoy the good variety of chocolates and drinks
R. C.
Coffee is consistently good and the range and quality of the food is amazing. Highly recommend.
A. O.
The very few cafes that opens till late. If you ever want a late coffee and some desserts to go with this place is your go to. Atmosphere is pretty good to. A nice place to chill.
P. J.
One of the best range of cakes, pastries and desserts on offer in Melbourne. Used to be a regular in Lygon St. branch but so good to have a CBD store now. Great environment, excellent coffees and fresh cakes - and comes in sample / mini versions too. Great place for some conversations post dinner. Little ones are always happy to be there too as so many options for your taste buds.
N. L.
Coffee is okay. Cakes and pastry are palatable. The savoury menu is just fine. The place is a bit loud. Service can be a bit slow, with some staff being great and others are in their own daydream. But it's one of the only late night cafes in the CBD and for that it get three stars.
R. A. A.
Brunetti is a cafe located in Flinders Lane, Melbourne. It is approximately 5 minutes walk from Federation Square and Flinder Street Station. Brunetti serves delicious pastry including croissant, cakes, cookies, etc. Coffee served in Brunetti is superb. The cafe also serves some main courses including pizzas. Tea break (between 2pm and 6pm) is usually when the crowd is. It is hard to get a seat during this hour. Do check out my instagram @ roshan_arjun for more feeds. Cheers!
C. W.
Loved the little lemon tart. Very lemony. The orange almond cake was also very good. We ordered a tea and we asked for hot water top up which they gladly do for free. Coffee milk options include dairy, almond and soy.
R. L. (.
Hard to choose which cake to have as there’s a lot to choose from. This shop is constantly busy! You’ll have to listen carefully when the staff calls out your number or your coffee will be sitting on the bench for a while.
S. Q.
Good coffee and excellent range of sweet baked goods etc. Limited hot breakfast menu.
N. S.
I loved the place and the products, such a hidden gem. Excellent customer service, smiley staff. I will go back for sure
R. C.
Busy place with great food. Excellent pizza, lasagna and other pasta dishes. Located in a bustling laneway easy to find and worth visiting.
J. C.
Beautiful interior design and huge selection of desserts! I feel the coffee isn't the strong Italian espresso it used to be though..
E. X.
Brunetti's continues to expand its footprint exponentially over the years. This store now has a much larger seating capacity than its previous location along Swanston Street. The display of cakes at the entrance is certainly eye catching. There is a similarly large range of tempting pastries and cakes.
They need to improve their ordering system though, which is a chaotic mess, resulting in a mass of patrons standing in front of the counter and staff picking who to serve with no regard of who has actually been waiting the longest.
Gelato was smooth and creamy, but too sweet. Also on the pricey side, at $4.30 for just a single scoop (more if you want a sugar cone).
On the positive side, it is open late, for those hunting for dessert after a lateish dinner.
J. N. C.
This is my favorite Cafe in melbourne cbd. Spacious seats kids friendly and the staff are really nice
A. Z.
I have to congratulate the staff and the excellent food. I felt like I was at home 🇮🇹! keep it up Brunetti
L. U.
Great place. Lots of cakes/sweets to choose from.
R. P.
Great variety of cakes & desserts. Must visit for anyone with a sweet tooth.
M. W.
Great coffee, tasty cakes and pastries always.
A busy venue with ample seating.
Could need a bit of a wait for orders during peak periods.
One of the best places in Melbourne for coffee and pastries.
The lemon tart is excellent.
Will come back
Highly recommended.
P. R.
Excellent !
Went there just for the pastries (and coffee) and it was worth it.
So much choice available, all flavors from chocolate to fruits, praliné, biscuit, meringue ...
The inside looks nice too, with lots of chairs and table, and the service was fast and efficient.
I’m holding one star because it’s not cheap, 7-8$ for an opera or a mini-pie, i think you’re paying a bit for the brand (same price as fancy Paris pâtissiers). And because it’s very busy and packed, so noisy and not a relaxing break.
But overall it’s a good place and i recommend going to enjoy these delicious pastries (and more 😉 ).
s. J.
Exellent varieties. Pizzas . Coffees cacks ...all what you need in a cafe .bedt in Melbourne... menue is as below in the photos ...pick snd choose ...
Staff very effecient fast service
T. G.
Very nice place for dessert and drinks
J.
Amazing place to have lunch !
Clean and plenty of choices for everyone in the family … this is what I like !
N. E.
Fantastic cakes and pastries, plus a great selection of French and Italian inspired savoury sandwiches and meals, in a very European setting. Lots of seating and friendly service.
S. L.
Classy
Beautiful busy
Amazing cakes and pastries
I. T.
Wide selection of cakes and pastries, all mouthwatering! Makes me wish I lived here.
Edit: Revisited and had some great coffee in the morning along with the most delicious prosciutto focaccia. The big yum
R. S.
Amazingly delicious petit desserts! Brunetti is Melbourne’s star patisserie!!
S. M.
I go often to eat Tiramisu, love it there
J. C.
Beautiful unassuming space from the outside. Loads of cakes and pastries. A melbourne institution for a long time. They have really changed up their game and this is the first time I had their pasta. Squid ink pasta with crab and tomatoes. Great value, well seasoned and lovely pasta. Also had their arancini and lobster tail dessert, no photo but will be back to have their risotto and ravioli, other peoples food looked good.
I. M.
Our favourite anytime coffee and cakes place. The best in Melbourne and must try for anyone coming to Melbourne.
F. S.
Delicious sweets and great coffee. Don’t be fooled by the frontage, step inside 😍
A. K.
Dessert selection was great and so was the coffee.
E. S.
Incredible modern style coffee and cake shop. Little and large cakes, gelato ice cream, clean, bright space.
G. R.
A great place for coffee, wine, pizza, pasta, pastries and cakes. Atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
S. Y.
Quality desserts, outdoor seating available
K. M.
The best Ice cream and cakes I have seen in years. 5/5 hands down best store ever.
A. S.
Locals and tourists love this place. Cakes and coffee are well priced for amazing quality
C. S.
You want to get fat...go to Brunette's. Irresistible place. Absolutely yummy!!
V. H.
Decor is nice with pretty desserts. Coffee is decent.
K. M.
They have the BEST cakes, patisseries and coffee. BUT its always so busy especially on the weekends and the baristas are always understaffed. Had to stand infront of the coffee and wait for my latte for 45 mins! - couldnt sit down because i cant hear them yell out my order
S. T.
Forced move with Melbourne Square shut down for new metro tunnel. Great new space - No Pidgeons! Really nice new restaurant space - coffe as good as always - amazing selection of desserts big and space, woodfired pizza, excellent pasta dishes. A big improvement over the previous much loved space.
D. L.
Big restaurant with wide range of desserts. Pasta, pizzas and alcohol available. Highly recommended.
J.
It’s hard to reach the staff when it’s full of people, they need to increase the number of staffs working at night! The desserts are pricey but worth the price.
K. B.
The coffee is a bit average. Cakes are not scrumptious for the price you pay $8-11. The setting is suited for business people who are on the go. Not exactly for those who want to catch up, or relax a little. Like I said, it is average but expensive average.
C. S. M. P.
Good coffee and wide selection of cakes. Yummy
P. K.
Decent coffee, open on Sundays. Many excellent competitors nearby. No table service, a ticket system instead to pick up your order. Spacious and modern decor. Fairly low indoor noise, easy to have a conversation in.
p.
Great food and environment this place should get 10 stars not just 5 stars however since getting less staff with work holiday visa because of the lockdown the hospitality and encounter with the new waitresses became more difficult
C. R.
If you are a dessert lover, check this place out. They have got everything in the world. You wouldn’t want to leave!
T. H.
Love the concept hate the service or the lack of it. The cake counter today was disgraceful, no order of service, quiet well mannered people having to wait while rude people push in before them. For goodness sake Management fix this, it's not rocket science.
Then having to wait 15 minutes for a coffee is laughable, from half an hour from entering the store to sitting down is a joke.
J. B.
Everything I've had was good and did not taste cheap. I would come again.
L. Z.
Very good cake in the great shop. But the unprofessional staff, chatting with others while serving, damaged our cake.
g. p.
Lovely spot on Flinders Lane. My boyfriend takes me here for breakfast. Their coffee is great so are their pastries. I love their warmed almond croissant. Very reasonable prices and Cosy atmosphere.
K. A.
Enormous amount of glitzy cakes. Also sells pizza by the slice, sandwiches and piadina.
s. e.
Good quality, delicious cakes and sweets, wonderful coffee and very friendly staff.
N. K. S.
Lovely pastries and coffee, truly spoilt for choice. An average pastry costs $4. It is a little pricey but it's worth the experience for first timers.
A.
Great value for delicate desserts, huge selections! Friendly staff and open late. Been here 5 times with all wonderful experience. Can’t ask for more as a dessert shop!
R. G. (.
One of the bestest cafes I've ever been to!
N. L. S.
Lots of varities for people who love sugar. Coffee Is great too. A must try place.
G. “. A.
Wow so amazing just as it always is. A Melbourne institution/favourite. More desserts than you can shake a profiterole at. Seriously good everything and more. Can even head in late at night for a hot chocolate or a cake or a pizza or... well you get the idea. If you have ever been to any of the other Brunetti's in Carlton or Myer in CBD, you should know what to expect and how seriously good at sweetness these folks are! And they do gelato also lol.
N. M. (.
Awesome food! Most waiters speak Italian, so for native Italians who want good Italian food (antipasti, coffee etc.) It's definitely a must go! Desserts are always fresh and beautifully crafted, coffee is always good, and it's a brilliant place for lunch!
V. P.
Brunetti is a place were italians expat can almost feel at home. It is unusual that a local mantain a very good level of quality from the bar to the restaurant. Metion of honour for the cappuccino. Just a bit of disappontment for the cornetto (too much butter!). Despite the food, this place plays a fundamental social role.
H. J.
Beautiful and delicious cakes, sweets and pastries. The range of deserts are extremely well made with high quality ingredients, highly refined style, can have a rich and decadent taste and are satisfying and also exciting to choose from! Love visiting and picking up something from this boutique of theirs.
J. W.
What a find! We went into Burnetti's thinking it was a little street-side cafe, and found out that it was so much more. The amount of mouth-water pastries on display was amazing, it was so hard to choose what to try!
The chocolate fondant and profiteroles where delicious but the cannoli was a bit disappointing.
All the same, I would definitely recommend visiting and experiencing the Wonka-esque delights at Burnetti's
r. o.
Is a best place to have a quality of desserts and coffee while meeting up friends and family. The new venue is spacious and currently serve ala carte menu .Yumm.Love the hazelnuts ais cream.
J. P.
Very yummy dessert here, but the small size vanilla cannoli was a little dry
R. T.
Impeccable service, cakes and pastries that are out of this world and Italian class style. Must visit.
S. “. i. M. A.
Always great service and good food at Brunetti. So good to be back dining again. Lovely clean environment
K. K.
If you want to eat nice Italian meal and finish it off with quality desert and best coffee in Melbourne this is your place. Or may be you just want a cake for your birthday, you can get it here too. Quick service too.
S.
The place is really fancy and the cakes are really amazing.
T. F.
Been there twice and enjoyed both times
Excellent service
Beautiful setup and great taste
H. D.
Not bad , coffee was bad , cake was alright , customer service is good
S. C.
Good cafe for a quick bite or sweet treat but be careful sometimes the oastries are stale so dont get your hopes up.
A. L.
Beautiful store, beautiful dessert! Marvellous!
Recommend to everyone.
M. B.
The best cake shop in town! And coffee too!!!
The service was impeccable 👌
J. N.
A trendy place with huge variety of desserts and food! Highly recommended when in Melbourne.
A. C.
Staff are very nice and the food is good. Ordering was a bit messy with no organised way to line up.
s. k. g.
flinder lane is better one ,,, Myers beunetti doesnt have sweetener how disappointing even the staff gave me sandwiche instead of croissant so got waited longer to get my order
c. n.
I love the coffee and cakes here, it's my no.1 store in Melbourne.
C. W.
Taste like authentic desserts from Boston’s North End right here in Melbourne CBD. I’ve tried nearly every cake and pastry to date!
A. C.
Delicious coffee with a wide range of amazing desserts. A must try if you're looking for a good spot for lunch/brunch/coffee in the area.
K. G.
Great place for food and coffee.staff are always friendly.
THE ONLY DOWN SIDE THE TOILETS ARE FILTHY AND SMELL. YOU NEED TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER.
K. G.
Brunetti is a great start to any day....
Here on my 50th birthday for coffee and ciambella...
M. M.
Beautiful place, friendly staffs, they have halal dessert and it is delicious ♥️, the network communication is weak ..
L. V.
I really enjoyed the brunch I had at Brunetti with my friends. The music is a bit loud so it makes it hard to chat, but overall the place is great. I really enjoyed the coffee and the food was good. Great variety of savoury and sweet options. Friendly and quick staff.
Very good option if you visit the CBD.
😊☕
A. G.
Rum baba was divine, my latte excellent, extra hot as I love it. Sad though, my husband couldn't have a latte too as he is lactose intolerant. Brunetti's doesn't do lactose free milk. Barista wasn't worried, a shame really.
S. S.
Could you seriously not enjoy this place?????
Super delicious pastries, great coffee, and great location. OMG Italian hot chocolate is THE BOMB.
A.
Sensational brunch options. But to be honest, my favorite thing was the sexy euro & columbian accents on the super friendly staff. What a perfect breakfast! 😜
J. S.
Very busy, large atmosphere. I had the chocolate pudding, which was quite nice however was too rich for one person. The vanilla ice cream was a must on the side to help balance out the sweetness.
Have to say the staff were really rude. From the counter and feeling rushed to order, to the coffee area where they were just blunt and came across are careless. Coffee wasn't great, very bitter.
Cakes overall were nice, however not mind blowing. The staff were a let down. Shop fitout is nice and modern.
b. c.
Followed these guys around for over 21 years and have absolute respect for what the business has evolved to !!! Awesome consistency !!
Great service !! Yummy coffee !!
F. S.
Tried desserts only - absolutely to die for. Will be back tomorrow (even though my diet may suffer ;) )
S. L.
Crazy delicious desserts! Great place to chill and hangout :) amazing service as well
Z. A.
Great place, good service and the desserts are delicious!!!
C. G.
Very dependable coffee and pastries. Can feel a little large and commercial but there is a good reason Brunetti is so successful.
The food and coffee is great. Very reliable. Plenty of seating so suitable for 1:1 meetings though it can be a bit loud. A few different spaces to sit which is nice.
L. J.
great taste
M. M.
It's such a lovely hidden place to take a break with pastries and a cup of coffee after a long walk! The best part is I've never struggled to look for a seat like I usually do at Starbucks near melbourne central!
A. C.
(When a dog likes the food she will bark)
WoofWoofWoofWoofWoofWoofgrrrrrrrrwoofwoofWwoofWoofWoof!!!
C. J.
Good ambience, fair services, decent food. A nice place for breaky and casual dining whichever mood you are in.
T. L.
So many delicous Italian pastries to choose from, just be aware that it does get very busy.
E. Y.
New location for the better, many seats, plenty of quality food and drinks.
T. P.
Great coffee and variety of desserts 👍🏻👍🏻
A. R.
Massive cafe with heaps of variety.
The cakes are insanne!!
Coffee is super Italian
A great local hangout
N. J.
Have been a regular at Brunetti's, at least once per week for years, and I know their ordering system well. Today at the counter I picked out two cakes and ordered two coffees, and was abruptly asked for our table number. I had never been asked that before, and said so, but again was snappily was told she could not take my order without our table number. So I returned to our table, got our table number, and then bypassed the cakes as I did not want to be snapped at again. I went to the coffee counter and just ordered coffees, asking again do they now bring the coffees to the table. No, I was told, but was informed they would call out our table number when the coffees were ready. But they didn't, they still called out a docket number, and I was waiting to hear our table number. CONFUSING !!
Sorry Brunetti's, for the first time ever I remove one star from your rating, for poor service.
Certainly will never return to the Flinders Lane shop again, will stick to the smaller Myer cafe, or go further to Carlton
E. C.
Iconic to Melbourne, an institution on its own. Great cakes and coffee! Busy buzzing place! Good atmosphere!
I. S.
Beautiful place with a massive desserts and cakes selection. The food was nice as well.
A. J.
Great food, good coffee, friendly staff
A. W.
Nice decor and interior design, but the cafe is too busy to our liking. Large crowds and loud environment, not suitable for a quiet drink. Tried the cheese cake and it was average, and the coffee was really nothing special.
M. S.
Beautiful but average taste cakes. Millefeuille isn’t crunchy at all.
C. d. S. L.
My favourite 'fam bam' catch up place with amazing selection of pastries, savoury food and coffee all served with big smiles within a cool hip ambience. The place is truly iconic to Melbourne ⭐
B. C.
Cakes didn’t taste as good as I had before. Not fresh. A little bit disappointed.
J. P.
Good efficient service. Very busy and very good food but you're paying the cost. Rather pricey.
E. J. L. C. &. C.
I love this space, not always sold on their coffee it’s very hit and miss. The service can be hit and miss too.
Brunetti is know for its cakes and these don’t disappoint.
I’d also strongly recommend their Italian Hot chocolate if you want an indulgent treat.
A. C.
Amazing...the coffee was perfect and the desserts were out of this world. No complaints. This place never disappoints.
M. W.
Fantastic customer service and the desserts (inc) coffee are top class. Had peppermint choc and cookie flavoured gelati- YUM
J. A.
A very unique store with a great variety of food. Minimalist industrial decor with a focus on quality and experience. The cake and dessert section was amazing with its glass displays and colourful offerings. Whether it's coffee and desserts or a delicious pizza, you will have a great time here. Highly recommend Brunetti.
G. A.
Opens at 7am, giving a very warm and welcoming respite to Melbourne's cold mid-Winter for the city workers (or people passing through!).
R. S.
Arguably the Best place to hang out in Melbourne CBD. Opened till late night, served good consistent coffees, awesome cakes, as well as pizza to fill your late night craving. In the morning, croissant and other take out will fill your hungry stomach.
The atmosphere is great for everyone - solo, group, or families. Fantastic place!
b. d.
Wide selection of food, especially pastry. Can get crowded during dinner time.
A. I.
Cool fitout. Very impressive. Food menu is same as the Carlton one.. But great place to hangout.
m. d.
The BEST coffee and food selection.
C. C.
All the desserts are to die for! Stop in for cake & coffee or good Italian cooking. Another awesome find in the lanes of Melbourne!

So many cakes! So little time! These cakes are really yummy and most of the staff are cheerful and happy to help you choose. Although our second visit was brought down just a little by one of the staff behind the cake counter being short and sharp when I corrected myself having made a mistake in placing my order. (I asked for two eclairs instead of one)

Great place for food, drink and dessert, a must go in Melbourne CBD
R. J. N.
A very nice place to enjoy cakes and coffee!
L. A.
The food here is really really nice! Never walk out disappointed. The pizza slices are so delicious and I love their iced coffees. Bit frustrating having to wait for drinks but oh well, can't have everything! Always super busy too but the staff are efficient at clearing tables.
S. A.
it's busy - but how could it not be. Bring on your sweet tooth and forget the risk of diabetes as you glide through the cake displays to an efficiently staffed, tastefully modern Italian establishment.
Coffee 4 stars
cake 5 stars
donut 4 stars

Good place for coffee and dessert. Serves a large variety of dessert and good gellato. They have a large seating place but it is usually busy and operates more like communal seating (sit where you find a place) and most areas are shared so you will rarely have a table of your own. Nonetheless a good place for a meet up with friends.
C. B.
Awesome desserts, good food, good coffee, italian vibes
P. S.
The cafe latte was good. Didn't try anything else but the cakes all looked yummy.

I ordered the Con Amore cake 3 days before we needed it delivered to the motel we were planning to stay at. Brunetti had it waiting in our fridge in the motel room by the time we arrived, and if it’s even possible, the cake looked more amazing than in the website photos. Absolutely speechless about the quality of this cake. Could not recommend more highly! I only wish we lived in Melbourne so we could order from this company more often. Thank you to Flinders Lane Brunetti for making such a memorable birthday even better!
k. s.
Great coffee, great atmosphere.. another top venue for Brunetti
P. A.
Amazing place. Lots of tourist and locals comes to this place for the array of desserts and good coffee. Best place to hangout with your friends and family. Jam packed with people but still a nice place to hangout. Great desserts, perfectly designed cakes.
g. s.
More spacious place, great staff, and cakes was amazing. I was overwhelmed looking all of it.
J. W.
Came to Melbourne for a long weekend holiday, by accident we found this amazing place, great coffee, delicious breakfast, wide selection of sweet treats. The staff were enthusiastic and friendly. Highly recommended.
c. 明.
This is the place I loved the most while I was in Melbourne. Staff are very friendly and also professionally trained. People around me were all nicely dressed up. Of course, both the coffee and cakes were all amazing. I hope they open one in Sydney as well!!!
J. H.
An institution, but is it getting too big? 🤔
Can't complain about the cakes and coffees - still sensational.
L. S.
Very casual and relaxed vibes. Love to bring my laptop to do work - there are many power outlets available. Food is tasty and well priced as well as the drinks range.
F. A.
Top spot. Excellent good and service. Loved the happy hour Aperitivo or Campari spritz. Great for all ages.
s. l.
It is a cool hipster cafe where you can find good coffees and hot chocolate, as well as beautifully presented pastries and cakes.
If you are super hungry, they also do a wide range of pasta dishes and sandwiches.
The place is large, and there is ample seating.
E. M.
If you are in Melbourne make sure to visit here. I feel like I am in Italy and the desserts and coffee are excellent. Simply outstanding.
K. W.
Had the royale cake slice - sublime!
P. E. N.
Put simply, this was the most expensive treat I’ve ever had but it was not the most delicious. Purely based on dollar to delicious ratio you’re in trouble. It was nice, but the knowledge that I would soon default on my home loan as a direct result of purchasing a treat was a negative. The building itself is beautiful and the staff are friendly but the reason I went was for a treat and that bit was average.
S. R.
Everything is good about this cafe shop. I loved the place and specially cakes
M.
A family friendly place to relax with coffee and cakes or have a full Italian meal.
T. K.
I used to really like Brunetti, however the last few times have let me down. The coffee servings are very small and ordinary for the price. The cakes are still great though and probably the best thing to go there for.
T. X.
I always like what Brunetti offers both in Carlton and Flinders Lane but recently they stopped making Pizza Pala Pesto which is my favoritte. I travel with my family from Altona Meadows specially to have pizza pala pesto. Please bring it back.
S. A.
Às always top notch quality with ambience and food 💯

5 star fit-out and feel
5 star customer service
3.5 star coffee
3 star pastry
I love the fit out of this place. Even though it's continously bustling, it still has a homely feel and you feel comfortable hanging around for a while, reading a book or what not.
A great spot for tourists, families and a good spot for a first meet date.
I have so far only tried a few sweet pastries, which I assume are not made daily, because they don't have that fresh feel that they should have, which is disappointing.
If you want a nice pastry on the run go to Woodfrog Bakery (I know, it sounds like my Grandma named this place) just around the corner, but it's only take-away and no coffee.
For great coffee and nice sweetie snacks on the run go to Dukes Coffee Roasters which is on Flinders lane also.
Z. Z.
Very nice cafe but very busy. The decor is pretty and the coffees and cakes are good. Their system is not great if you're looking for a relaxed time. You pay and wait standing around for your coffee; there is no table service. Customer service is always rushed and not welcoming, but not rude.
M. w.
Best cake shop in Melbourne
Highly recommended
L.
Never try vienna coffee 🤢
But the interior and staffs are all good!
K. L.
Huge variety of cakes and food. Many tables and seating available too. The cakes were alright but coffee was unimpressive. Too crowded and chaotic for me. Perhaps it’s good for a quick bite or snack but not a great place to relax or chill out.
M.
Amazing food. Fresh, clean, nice stuff. Will definitely go back
D. M.
The coffee was shocking, really burnt. The cake is good but I tried 3 different ones and only one tasted fresh. Huge variety to choose from so great for those with a sweet tooth. Good atmosphere though
J. L.
Cool location and environment inside. Tons of variety for desserts and reasonable prices considering surrounding shops.
I thought the desserts were too sweet, and the coffee wasn't as strong as I would have liked. It also wasn't very hot!!
T. H.
Amazing selection of cakes, pastries and menu options, great service and friendly staff, well run, nice lighting and choice of music and decor, tables are quickly cleaned. Everything is delicious. Expect to need to go on a diet if you visit regularly.
A. L.
Love the new look Brunetti's! So modern and sexy! But the food selection is better in the Carlton store i think. Still, a great place for coffee, cake and a casual bite to eat!
B. M.
Yummy desserts and open late. Nothing here is ‘gluten-free’ but they have desserts that don’t contain flour which included things like chocolate cakes, biscuits, macaroons, etc. Cross-contamination would be highly likely so potentially not suitable for very sensitive individuals— however, desserts enjoyed by two celiacs without issue. Amazing desserts nonetheless.
G. D.
Way too much to choose from However you can't really go wrong with your pick. We tried their lava cake and it was delicious. We also got some almond biscotti and it was amazing. Their coffee is also pretty decent.
S. H. L.
I thought it was just another franchise dessert place, but I was wrong. I loved their Gelato, and it was the only place where I could find a table for 6 of us on Friday night. Great location, large space, maybe a bit unorganized at the order counter, but overall good experience.
C. W.
Dessert is the best! So many choices if you can’t find something you like, you’re crazy!
E.
I spent 5 days in Melbourne and I went at Brunetti something like 100 times! I really missed the Italian patisserie and here is just AMAZING! Loved the 10 $ Spritz and the staff is nice and super fast! Hope to come back soon!
V. B.
Place and location was very nice, so many dessert and cake options, i haven't tried other food so don't know about it.
I. F.
Love the one on lygon street, so I had to come and check it out and to put it Frank I was mind blown on the improvements, the food was delicious and takes no time at all. The coffee is fantastic as usual however it is a bit inconspicuous to the outside and the waiters always seem to be slightly grumpy
N. M.
Visited this place with 2 toddlers in tow. It was busy but was able to find a pram friendly space easily. Kids loved the pasta. We loved the pizza. Great coffee, efficient staff, loved it!
A. A.
Surprisingly, whatever you get will not disappoint, be it desert, pasta, wood fired pizza or coffee (with the possible exception of the Chai). The pasta is particularly impressive and well worth enjoying!!
I guess that’s why we always come back!
Y. F.
We were served the wrong size hot chocolate but apart from that it was good.
A. I.
Great vibes and good coffee but they really need more people to clean the tables. Gorgeous decor but used plates and glasses everywhere so it feels like a cheap canteen.
k. j.
Service was quick. The place is clean and with a great layout. Love the natural light coming through the windows, give the place a calm feel to it. The cakes... Heaven on earth...
Have a few different ones. The croque en bouche are orgasmic. Definitely a great place for a lazy afternoon or just to catch up with a friend.
It's 5mins walk from founders station which is perfect to get access through public transport.
Being on the little founders you can also explore the other little jewels around it :)
Y. W.
This new place is pretty modern and spacious. It's better than the old place at the corner of Swanston and Flinders Lane. The cakes taste great, typical Brunetti. If you love cake, bring your whole family in!
J. S.
Always delicious desserts. Coffees could improve though.
P. M.
It's outdoor , a small space inside, but one of the best coffee's you will find in Melbourne. Gorgeous selection of biscuits, cakes and slices. I always am delighted when I order a takeaway coffee, and get a cute little biscuit with it. Nice touch. Cute gelato van out the front. Very central and close to Flinders Street Station and Federation Square.
J. P.
We (party of 5) walked in Thurs evening. Managed a table! Place busy, as expected, but little waiting time. Negronis were great, pizza slices ditto. Staff attentive, pleasant & hepful. Hint to Granville, staff member had your best interest at heart - you really should have had 2 eclaires! I would have.
S.
It's a great spot to sit out and relax (except the annoying birds). Been there on a Saturday morning and they have a good range of coffee and cakes. The service was fast. I recommend this place to start the day with a good coffee.
Little pricy for the coffee. Overall rating 4/5
M. G.
My favorite coffee stop in Melbourne, the breakfast was huge and yum could of been warmer though, nothing compared to the rest of the experience.
M. M.
Nice pastries and foods!!
Good location!!
F. H.
Desserts are to die-for with so many choices , great coffees, food & atmosphere. A visit is a must if you’re visiting Melbourne CBD. This place is iconic!! Ps: make sure you try their canolis!
K. S.
Hard to imagine Brunetti improving on their Carlton cafe, but they actually did. This is a fairly modern take on a large cafe, and it also had an adjoining restaurant, and a cozy bar tucked away at one end. Coffee is right on the money as you'd expect, and the cakes and biscuits are of the same high standard as all the other Brunetti cafes.
A. S.
Great place. Our regular late night stop for coffee and cake.
L. G.
Came in very early on this cold morning. The service was spot on and super friendly. Great place to people watch and escape Melbourne ‘s icy mornings.
I relived my youngerself with a cannoli for breakfast (not realising they had other proper food breakfast options down the back). It was lovely. I’d come back for a quiet breakfast in the city again!
R. S.
Not as big as the carlton branch but there is also a large selection of cakes. The location is somewhat hidden but accessible being close to flinders street station. Quite a lot of people dining there but the staff is quick and will attend to you with the best of their ability. Great quality cakes as usual with brunettis and a vert comfortable ambiance for dining in at least when I came in at aroud 6PM on Valentine's day to order takeaway.
F. C.
Great ambiance and fine foods
J. G.
I love coming here with friends for a cup of coffee or just a milkshake (or both). The drinks are always excellent and served fast enough to our table. The tables are not crowded and you can actually have a pleasant private chat with your mate without someone eavesdropping. I really appreciate that.
C. H.
Open on weekends unlike most of the cafes in the area so it's great.
I could still indulge in enjoying their really good coffee and super delish pasta
on my day offs.
Couldn't think of any place better.
U. V.
Absolutely delicious cakes and drinks.
n.
Very nice and huge venue. There are different varieties of desserts. They also serve Italian foods. Good place to catch up with friends. They are open early morning and close at 11:00pm.
S. R.
Brunettis in Flinders Lane is a glamorous coffee house to have a quiet coffee alone or dine with a group of friends. From decor to food, everything dazzles with Italian flair. Known for its cakes, pastries, like its sister in Carlton, it also serves pizza alongside pasta dishes. We mostly visit for cake and coffee. It is a place that transports its visitors to a life less mundane. Worth visiting.
L. A.
Brunettis nail it every time! The coffee is amazing, desserts are delicious and food is scrumptious! Just a wonderful place all round.
B. H.
Seriously good seafood, authentic Italian entertainment (Friday night) and a wonderful Italian family vibe make this restaurant a great dining experience.
Z.
The coffee here is the best ive ever had! The cafe looks amazing with a variety of delicious desserts as well. Love coming here. The iced latte is amazing!
T. J.
Lot of cake and good coffee
D. D.
Would have been good if the staff told us that they were closing in 10 minutes as we were ordering the coffee
T.
Love the deserts here! Enjoyed the coffee too. Can't wait to hang out here again with my friends in few weeks.
E.
Best hot chocolate and they have a variety of cakes
